I understand the appeal of wanting every adult hero to instinctively adopt teenage Peter Parker, but can it really beat the hilarity of acknowledging that at 15 Peter was 5'10", unusually buff, went by a moniker with Man in it, wore a creepy full face mask, and had a tightly guarded secret identity and probably a Queens accent thick enough to have come out of a jello mold, and adult heroes reasonably responded to him by going, “Wow, this grown man is an immature asshole for no reason.”

honestly imo the most annoying bad faith commentary on any media is when a character has a no kill rule and ppl are like ok but those guys they fought absolutely died 😂 especially when we are EXPLICITLY SHOWN those guys surviving like why is this the thing that breaks the suspension of disbelief for you people survive this shit in movies ALL THE TIME its literally ONLY when a character refuses to kill that suddenly people start trying to impose fall damage or some shit
pisses me off

hi my name is anonymous asker, but you can call me anon. i'm a big fan of your posts and i couldn't help but notice in your latest one that you failed to clarify a couple points. one with good faith would fill these blanks, but as someone who values journalistic integrity i must ask if you actually support the act of launching the state of connecticut into the sun for fun?

Something in how Shawn brags a lot but never about his actually impressive qualities is linked to how he never tries to use his experience being shot as a way to sound cool or gain some kind of clout.
#so difficult to determine if shawn is proud or arrogant or insecure or humble or self-hating because its all kind of a tangle and#the answer is just yes he is those things in a weird cocktail that no one really knows how to sift through including him and his loved ones#and with that there's an interesting puzzle as well over how the way he conceptualizes the work that does#that balancing act of its a game to him but also he cares about people and the way he at one point tells juliet 'this is how i do good'#and how that links back to growing up idolizing his dad and seeing police work as this heroic thing he aspired to#only to go through that intense disillusionment in the face of the divorce#and how he is both a coward and incredibly brave#and the way that he drifts through life and is laid back and takes everything as a joke#until he doesn't and he has these stark moments of anger and/or intensity#something fraught within him#<<prev#psych
