Random musings of frames I've been playing more and also my "mains":
Citrine: S-tier, support and DPS combo means she's pretty universal. I play her as a health tank and CC with her 4. Sporothrix as preferred primary, secondary is Zylok p for meme purposes, Harmony for melee because of the status gimmick. Basically status-based DPS due to her 3's functions.
Dante: SSS+ tier, Noctua gaming. No comments.
Jade: A-tier. Very strong, good support, I have her as a pew-pew DPS, but it is important to keep her afloat and in some game modes she might not do as well.
Ivara: A-tier. I have given up on using Artemis bow consistently in SP, but Ivara works very well as a funky weapons platform if you're not afraid to put silencer mods on her primary and secondary. Use gunblades for melee, direct melee hits drain energy while invisible. Empowered Quiver + whatever gun you like: Ivara gaming. She has to stay invisible, however, otherwise she's wet paper. Other than that the perfect spy and syndicate medallion hunter frame. Also her prime has a cute skirt, what more could you want?
Khora: A-tier. Preferred survival farming frame. As long as her strangle dome is up she's gucci. Use Protea's dispensary and Equilibrium for unlimited energy. Squishy outside of that, enemies that resist her CC can be a pain (Entrati labs are all fun and games until slinkies and triangles and Necramechs spawn). Got a ceramic dagger (incarnon) as a stat-stick and three purple tauforged shards so my goal is to make her whipping ridiculous.
Nezha: S-tier. He was my Rhino and is still my beloved. New 4th ability augment makes him a room clearer, I like to use a Nagantaka prime for spreading slash procs. Though Nezha can also be used for brainless melee gaming, I use Dual Ichor for that.
Nidus: B-tier and only because he sucks in co-op. Fun to play solo and sit in place, arse in everything else. Technically a health tank but even with his parasitic link can suffer from the dreaded one-shots and lose his stacks easily. I love him nonetheless.
Protea: S-tier. She doesn't even need weapons, her blaze artillery does everything. Dispensary is one of the best subsumes and obviously serves her well. Do not subsume her 4!!! It can be tricky to cancel it, but it is a good tool and can offer some funky play with either augment (I use blaze artillery one since armor strip is no longer mandatory for every frame).
Zephyr: A-tier. Solid DPS frame, might need to switch her 3 for a different skill to improve survivability, but also gotta use mods that give DR while airborne (since you will be moving slowly). Lex prime incarnon is her best friend. Cast her 4, jump in the air -> aim glide -> hold 1. You are now in the air and can shoot whatever. Use her 2 to group enemies, use her 2's augment if you want extra DPS.
Volt: A-tier, maybe S-tier. Was my starter and can't believe I slept on him. Solid DPS weapons platform, I gave him Jade's subsume which also gives solid CC and and debuffs for enemies.
Honorable mentions:
Chroma: B-tier because he has two usable skills. My old main, reliable for newbies to pump up damage, other than that he has two uses and that is Profit Taker and Eidolons. He is just... boring... I love you Chroma but you are not mentally engaging to play and your two shitty skills feel like an insult even after "tweaks".
Kullervo: S-tier melee frame. Solid room clearer and empowered by Overguard. Better Excalibur in my eyes (sorry Excal/Umbra lovers... I just can't vibe with him for some reason).
Saryn: S-tier for Saryn, I actually committed a cardinal sin and subsumed her 4 off and put Roar there for ultimate weapons platforming. Still, Saryn does not ask for comments, similarly to Dante.
Titania: A-tier. I'm working on improving her DPS, sometimes I struggle to upkeep energy but I think I'm getting a hang of how to play her.
Wisp: S-tier buffer. Regular Wisp was my 3rd most used frame and my crutch. x) But now I prefer other frames.
There's a bunch of other frames I know how to play but don't play too much (Xaku, Octavia, Yareli, Mag, Harrow...), but overall these are ones that have left a strong impression on me and I wouldn't be afraid to take on a mission.
But my favorites are Citrine, Nezha and Protea.
I'm in a mood where I'm rotating between a bunch of Warframes and trying to find out which one is "universal" aka the best for a variety of game modes.
So far my #1 bet is Protea - she doesn't even need good weapons, she IS the weapon.
#2 is Citrine - she can support and she can deal damage so she is self sufficient. Nezha is similar, with his new augment he is very Citrine-like in both supporting his teammates and himself while also doing some mean damage.
TBH Dante mogs everyone buut I feel like taking Dante is almost cheating.
Then there are frames I like but which are better in some situations but not so good in others.
Khora is good for farming SP Survival, but I wouldn't solo Netracells with her (though I do have Protea's dispensary on her, so maybe there is potential?).
I am also trying out Titania in various situations, but she is very reliant on her pixie mode but that pixie mode hinders her. Also her DPS isn't like super-good, at least I struggled in Survivals. Maybe a skill issue and need to mod her better. But I also feel like SP survival is really demanding on the KPM so it only works with proper nukes or farm-frames that can get more life supports modules.
