Hello Tumblr!

I am a current student conducting a qualitative study on Tumblr's queer spaces. My research question is "in what ways do queer spaces on Tumblr challenge conventional understandings of gender and sexuality?"

This study has been approved by my institution's internal Ethics Review Board, and my research supervisor Dr. Kurusanather can be reached via email at janet.kurusanather@mail.utoronto.ca.

If you are 18+, English-speaking, and identify as LGBTQ+, you are eligible to participate! The study will involve 2 rounds of written interviews conducted through the chatbox about your experience with queer identity formation on Tumblr.

Your data will be kept anonymous and confidential. You will receive a full Informed Consent Document to read, review, and sign once you indicate your interest to participate.

Please quickly bring your attention to Sami @samialkhlilis-blog and his family, who are in urgent need of help.

Sami has a large family, all of which he loves dearly. He lives with his wife, their three children, his four siblings, and his elderly parents. However, he and his family are suffering greatly due to the war in Ghazzah, and they need your help to survive.

Sami and his family's home was destroyed by bombing, as was the shop where Sami sold car parts. They were forced to flee from the north of Ghazzah to the south, and were displaced many times. Now, they live in a tent, without proper access to food, water, or medical care.

Sami's mother was especially impacted by this displacement. She suffers from chronic thyroid and parathyroid disease. Since she was displaced, her condition has deteriorated, as she has not received the vital medication she needs. Her condition is worsening each day, and she needs surgery, but getting surgery is difficult due to the lack of medical resources.

Sami needs your help to get his mother the vital medical treatment she needs. His entire family also needs basic necessities like food and shelter. However, donations have been very slow, and sometimes they do not receive any for days at a time.

Sami's mother shouldn't have to suffer from a lack of medical care like this. She, and all of this family, deserve your support, as they are living through a genocide. Please, share and donate. Even a small amount, like €5 or €10, makes a difference.
