How I think Hazbin hotel Characters died (Most of These are Theory's Don't take them as Cannon. Also Most of this Info is From the Unreliable Wiki so Take this with a Grain of Salt)

• Alastor- Alastor died in 1933 In his (20 - 30) From a dog related death. He also has an X on his forehead that we see in the Pilot and in the Season. A popular fan Theory Is that When Alastor Was Burying A body In the woods he was Shot in the head (For being Mistaken for a Deer) And Mauled by Dogs to Finish him Off. But I have Another thought Maybe his cabalistic and Sadistic Nature was Discovered by the Towns people Of Louisiana (Where He lived) And was Promptly and Forcibly Shot in the Head for it. And dogs maybe Ate his Remains Because The Town refused to bury him Just leaving him in the woods.

• Angel Dust- Now it's Cannon that Angel Dust died in 1947 In his (30) From a Drug Overdosed. (But I am gonna Add another Theory Because I can) We know that AngelDust Grew up In New York. In a Crime Family so Maybe He was Caught stealing Drugs From another Rival Gang and Beaten to Death. If you notice he Has One black eye So maybe that Resembles a Black eye he Died with? • Sir Precious- Sir Pentious Died in 1888 (Idk how Old he was) I think Sir Pentious Tried to be a Famous Inventor In England back in the Day. Over come with the Greed of wanting to Be Famous He pushed himself to Hard and Fucked up. Probably Get Blown Up by Smt.

• Husk Husk died In 1970 (60 - 70) We know he Grew up In las Vegas. I think Husk Used to Cheat and Scam People with Card tricks Since he WAS A magician. • Arackiness- We Also Don't know Much about Arackiness. But my Guesses are that He either 1 Also died from a Drug overdose 2 Died from a Battle with a Rival Gang or 3 Died from Old age.

• Baxter- Baxter Died in 1910 From Drowning. Baxter is also an Angler Fish A Deep sea Fish. My guess is that He died in a Ship While Traveling over seas Probably Going down with the Ship. The wiki also states he HATES Being touched So I think He was in an Abusive Relationship. He Tried to Run away and Died In the Process.

• Crymini- Crymini Died in 1990 (When she was 19) Crymini is a Hyena and Has little Sploches all over her Body Some look Like paw Prints and Claw Marks. Maybe She was an Animal Abuser and Angerd a Dog Resulting her In being Mauled. And Later Bled to Death. Or She Got into a Car crash For reckless Driving (Viv described her as a Rebellious Teen so it would fit) She may be a Hyena Because she was a Mean Petty Bitch.

Headcanons!

- Starting off miscellaneous, Thade has the most rambunctious nastiest breath due to never brushing his teeth, he doesn't even like brushing his teeth so he went like "fuck it, I'm going out like this" and the crew got so put off by it, even mary was distraught. This random guy has a decent smell from using a bunch of colorful perfumes he stole because they looked pretty but. the most awful stench coming from his mouth when he speaks or yawns. Basically like a cat.

Yea I actually have no idea why the fuck i have that, I just thought the cat coded thade headcanon was cool so I gotta make him more accurately cat-like.

- I don't like the idea of Auburn being the possibly(?) bio daughter of Lillian and Thade (why are the genes so different) so I basically headcanon her to be a abandoned baby at birth and the crew took her in cause they felt bad.

- wanna know what's funny? I headcanon Boar as an ACTUAL WILD BOAR. FURRYFYING EVERYONE BABYYY!!!!

- I already said this on another post but I'll say it again, I think of Auburn as a hippie goth , it fits her Earth magic and peaceful vibe.

- I love the whole "Skin-taker still has a trait in his past life" troupe so I'll add one . Thade can remember and name every species of bird and flowers, ( I said the bird one before but I'll say it again) he likes how colorful and bright they are compared to the birds in the abyssal kingdom. He especially liked how each of the flowers hold a symbolic meaning whether it be double or single. When he first went outside the abyssal kingdom, he noticed a few rare species of birds that had a melancholic tune , which isn't the case for Abyssal birds since their voices tend to be gravel -like and noisy. He absolutely adored them!! He even collects bird feathers!!

- I headcanon Mort as a vampire bat who has morbid curiosity, I'm making a completely different version from him from the wiki cause wiki mort is eugh 🤢

-Thade's voice headcanon is Lilac cookie from crk (i wanna find a voice headcanon that sounds like a warm , friendly but monotone vibe? Idrk)

- Thade actually doesn't show much emotion, and most people view him to be a cold , unbothered person , when in reality it's literally just his resting face . He's very excitable but doesn't show it much.

- I view Red Mary's personality as similar to Cosmos from the MLP comics. (I highly recommend reading the books about her she's seriously a really good villain) She and Thade have a discord and cosmos dynamic where he is completely scared of her. He still is.

touhou reiiden ~ highly responsive to prayers :

reimu hakurei is a shrine maiden. more specifically, she watches over the hakurei shrine. although she cannot harm her enemies directly, she wields a yin-yang orb that can deal damage. the shrine was wrecked by something idk

there is basically no story until stage 5, where you can follow the gate into hell or go to makai. she did destroy what wrecked her shrine. both have different enemies. depending on the ending, the yin-yang orb can turn into a fairy or something that destroys everything. for the bad ending, it turns into a black hole that destroys earth.

nearly none of the characters appear again except mima, who resides in the hokora near the hakurei shrine. a hokora is like a tiny shrine

touhou fuumaroku ~ the story of eastern wonderland :

reimu battles multiple creatures and machinery, some examples being the bakebake, shrine tank, and some cannons. she proceeds to run into rika, who tries to lure her into a trap. fortunately, both her and her flower tank were defeated. then, she finds meira, a samurai fixated on obtaining the power of hakurei (idk) for herself. reimu beats her and enters the world of fantasies, faces the five magic stones and defeats them.

after stage 3 it can be inferred that she entered reimaden, which is implied to be located inside the world of fantasies. mima or the final boss returns from hrtp, and she summons her apprentice marisa kirisame before either of the two can battle. (which fun fact marisa is red haired here!!!!) after defeating her, she faces mima herself. reimu explains the hakurei clans real power: the controlling of the yin-yang orbs. they feed off of the users power, and once fully loaded, can release lots of energy at once. mima was still defeated, and sealed back into the hokora despite all attempts to get it.

touhou yimejikuu ~ the phantasmagoria of dim dream :

yumemi and chiyuri create a space/time traveling ship called the probability space hypervessel and use it to travel to gensokyo so that yumemi can prove her theory

reimu wanders into the garden and realized theres a grand ruin near the hakurei shrine. mima and marisa reappear and mima explains it:

the ruins were accepting "visitors" and the people in charge would give gifts to them according to the pamphlet. there is a small notice that says only one person is allowed inside, and to figure out who should enter, they have a battle between rikako, kana anaberal, ellen and kotohime. whoever gets in first meets chiyuri and yumemi.

in order to prove her theory, yumemi wants to beat the player, take them to the real world, and perform experiments on her. if the player beats yumemi she can grant them a wish, as chiyuri's pamphlets had false information on them.

touhou gensoukyou ~ lotus land story :

first, they defeat orange, an ordinary youkai who was just flying around before arriving at a blood-filled lake. they then find a vampire named kurumi, who is the guardian of said lake, and they battle her twice. they find a chasm in an island at the center of the lake. which at the end of the passageway, there is a mansion called mugenkan. they find the gatekeeper elly, who explains that they are at the boundary of fantasy and reality.

she explains that the other character had defeated her already and entered the mansion. after defeating the

mansions housekeepers, they meet once again in a dark chamber in the center of the mansion. reimu accuses marisa of planning something nefarious, to which they both battle once again. whoever wins tells the other to leave before venturing farther into mugenkan. the remaining protag awakens a youkai, yuuka kazami, who despite her tiredness has very powerful attacks. yuuka panics and runs away after being defeated.

touhou kaikidan ~ mystic square

large amounts of youkai and demons are traveling from makai to gensokyo.

within the cave, whoever you chose as the player (reimu, marisa, mima, yuuka) finds the guardian of the gateway to makai, sara and defeats her easily before beginning a high-speed flight through the boundary between worlds. they find a demon travelling in the opposite direction named louise. the player arrives in makai, then soon being attacked by alice margatroid and her dolls.

after defeating her, the player flies toward a dark fortress in the distance, encountering themselves with the witches yuki and mai, who failed in attempting to stop the player from advancing forward.

entering the forest pandemonium, they fly through multiple crystal designs while battling even more enemies. at the top, they are greeted by shinki, who explains in a nice manner that the demon invasion is due to a civilian travel agency whomst arranged tours to gensokyo. before the player can figure this out or make any sense of it, they are interrupted by yumeko, who insists that she leave so she may battle them. after fighting the maid, shinki re-introduces herself. it turns out that she was in fact the god of makai, and alongside that, had created it.

he’s intersex that’s a thing that’s recently been added to his lore :) (there was a brief period when he was just a wee grub where he was female-presenting, but he also was a shut in for most of his early life so once he was older troll society just kinda went ‘a male fuchsiablood????? gasp!!!’ because no one really remembers him ever identifying as anything but male and also i like to think that at the very very minimum troll society by and large respects how trolls identify (sorry for going on another tirade but. there’s theoretically a troll out there giving everyone top surgery and i think that’s hilarious) )

back in the old days there was gonna be a whole thing with halwyr having to helm a ship to escape (that happened still. they went to earth where the condesce just so happens to be *cough cough* mind control fuckery involved with the helming *cough cough*) and being a little uhhhh. extra computery because of that. i was grasping at straws for how to make him resemble his canon self personality wise so he ended up being a psionic he has technopathy so that’s cool he doesn’t have to type with his longass claws what was i saying oh yeah anyways that was going to cause him and deirik (troll dirk) to have a more strained relationship and halwyr was going to be bitter about the whole ‘product of genetic experimentation’ thing and also the fact that he ended up being the one used as a living battery but uh. sorry not sorry that didn’t happen deirik and halwyr are moirails now & they care for each other canon is my sandbox and I’m using it to make glass fight me (i couldn’t think of any other reason why they’d have an even remotely brotherly relationship given that siblings aren’t a thing in troll society but i remembered that the mspa wiki page for moirallegiance said it was closest to the greek (roman?) concept of brotherly love so they’re moirails now tada)

so he’s very uh. *glances at the fact that i basically just confessed halwyr has the same mental illnesses that i do* let’s just say his mood instability doesn’t mix well with the capital-r Rage that accompanies the higher bloodcastes (hence the brutal murdering, which for legal reasons i must specify did not come directly from me)

unrelated but deirik is a goldblood but he’s offshade just barely enough to be noticeable without getting culled by the drones which is a big reason why halwyr is so protective of him alternia is lethal as fuck especially to the lower castes especially especially to those with even minor mutations

(in the unnamed fun side timeline deirik accidentally murders halwyr and somehow ends up surviving to adulthood and is forced to helm the condesce‘s ship both out of punishment for killing her heir (that she didn’t even like in the first place smh 🙄) and just because he’s ridiculously fuckin op psionics-wise but it’s ok! ghost halwyr ends up in the dream bubbles (there’s no game in this so it’s really just a Because I Said So situation again. if it makes you feel better maybe his lusus got him special afterlife privileges) and the two of them manage to connect over Trollian…. after like 4 sweeps of misery for the both of them💀)

You know, I wrote this whole thing, I spent way too long on one of the DC wikis, but I completely forgot that in Quiver Resurrected!Ollie is missing 10 years of memories. So that's the real reason. If you want to read the insanity that is me focusing on anything other than my work, see below.

Please know that the following is not meant to be an "Well, Actually" style correction; I saw this post, started rotating it in my mind while working on something else, and then decided to be a crazy person and try and make sense of DC's timelines/plots:

So, going by publishing dates, Jason dies in late 1988. As far as I can tell, The OG League, including Green Arrow, breaks up in 1984. After that, Aquaman re-forms the league (Justice League Detroit). Batman is a member, but Green Arrow isn't.

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" happens in 1985. Ollie is possibly a Justice League member during Crisis on Infinite Earths? Maybe? Every wiki entry is telling me something different. And Ollie doesn't have his own series at this time, but from what I can tell, his stories in Detective Comics during this period mostly keep him local and don't involve any bat crossovers.

After the Legends crossover, during which the League was once again disbanded and then reformed, we have Justice League International, where the lineup is still Batman yes, Green Arrow no (1987). Maybe Ollie was too busy finally getting books with his name on them again, idk.

Interestingly, Black Canary is part of the JLI lineup. Around this time, though, Dinah and Ollie are having fights about whether or not to get married/whether or not to have kids, Dinah is secretly taking birth control, Ollie's was raped by Shado, Ollie is having issues after killing the guy torturing Dinah (allegedly in this continuity this is the first person Ollie's ever killed), and oh yeah Dinah was tortured. Also apparently Ollie keeps fucking off to Alaska or England or Japan or whatever. (The issues where he's in Japan and Shado rapes him were published at basically the same time Jason was getting exploded.) So I can see why, even if Dinah knows about Jason, it might not be something she wants to bring up, especially since one of the reasons she and Ollie are fighting is her fear that any child of theirs will be targeted.

And then there are like three more incarnations of the Justice League, but as far as I can tell Ollie doesn't join any of them before he dies (1995). (Connor Hawke Green Arrow does join for a little bit in 1997)

TLDR Ollie isn't seeing Bruce at the office every day and is going through his own drama; it's theoretically possible that he missed Jason's obituary – he legit might have been in Alaska or Japan at the time, then no one told him when he got back because a) that's not fun gossip; that's a dead child, and b) the assumption he already knows that gajillionaire Bruce Wayne's son died.

Also I kinda love the idea of Ollie a) not being told Jason died and b) not realizing that Tim isn't just Jason in pants.

I recently came across these panels of Green Arrow 2001 where Oliver is in the afterlife, and I have some thoughts below.

It’s the line “Spooky didn’t even mention it to me” that really takes me out because how many people did Bruce actually tell about Jason’s death when he was grieving? Obviously Clark knew, he was there in Death of the Family’s aftermath to prevent Bruce from killing the Joker, but if Green Arrow didn’t know, that’s like… a pretty core member of the Justice League.

Batman just went about his JL missions while grieving and internally suffering and at least Green Arrow didn’t notice, but also I don’t know who would have said anything if they did notice. It’s a somewhat known fact in-universe now I think, but I don’t know, it just makes me sad that he didn’t say anything about it when it happened.

I feel like it’s also important to mention to anyone looking at fire and blood or a wiki of ice and fire for info about the dance of the dragon and all these characters that fire and blood is an in universe text. Meaning it is a history book written as tho by a maester writing the book years after every happened who only has about 3 primary sources to work with— a septon, a maester, and a jester. Naturally these are all wildly contradictory and cannot possibility convey the full breadth of complexity to the situation.

Basically— it’s not like an asoiaf/got situation where asoiaf is a novel where things happen to characters in real time and got then adapted and altered that very solid info. Fire and blood is a crown approved history book written in universe by a medieval scholar who cannot possibly know anything that was not publicly known or written down. It summarizes a LOT, and gives characterizations as they were understood by the public not how people actually were and can only speculate at the events that went on behind closed doors.

So say take people going on about alicent being Evil Actually— sure fire and blood kinda has some of those vibes but consider when trying to use fire and blood as a “word of god”/“well actUALLY—” hammer against other interpretations that:

1. The maester writing fire and blood was not alive for the dance of the dragons and is writing decades later. He is not a primary source and he is writing with a bias and likely must have this targ history okay’d by the crown aka the targs.

2. None of the primary sources knew any of the players in the dance personally, were allowed to know of their private lives or innermost thoughts and all have a Huge Bias.

3. The author and all 3 primary sources are all men which yes is 100% relevant to this— especially when talking about people like alicent. We see over and over and are told over and over in got and hotd that being a woman in westeros is Kinda Dogshit. We get a scene of otto telling his ~15yo daughter to seduce her bestie’s dad (effectively damning his daughter to years of martial rape which yes— is a real thing) and then asking her why on earth she would tear herself apart physically. He saw nothing wrong with his actions or how horrific this was for her. And she did all of it because like, what else can she do? What are her options here? Realistically.

Aemma is literally murdered via a ceasarean section she didn’t even know she was gonna get and in fire and blood they just say “she died in childbirth”. Because why do any of these dudes give a shit about the deets about what happened to a womz? No dick? No relevant. These guys aren’t going to begin to care about accurately recording the lives and acts of women outside of like, how it effects a dude.

I believe somewhere GRRM and co who’re working on hotd have said that hotd is the objective history/closer to it. Also GRRM has WAY more creative control/input (i mean did you SEE that HUNT??? Those silly helmets????) so like idk why you’d try to use??? GRRM’s intentionally iffy/inaccurate history book to try??? and attack the show that by the nature of that media??? cannot be anything but a more coherent objective truth and that GRRM is heavily involved with????

this entire little filler is just so... like idk i feel like. during the fight they both had some wild thoughts and emotions flying around that they couldn't really sit down and piece together at that time (because.... they were amidst a life or death battle LOL) but this downtime is really important, like the seed has been planted and now they're both gonna spend time sitting here stewing and thinking about each other?? like this is IT, this is the first of many, many times that they'll be thinking about one another. this is how feelings start blooming hehe

one more thing, there's this scene where goku sneaks out of the hospital successfully and goes to train in the middle of nowhere but he overexerts himself terribly and falls, and as he's about to fall to his death he starts thinking about vegeta LOL

oh my god anon okay I’m assuming in context of what I’ve recently posted you want like... my version of events rather than what’s canon but just in case I hope you know that there’s basically zero canon material that actually describes his childhood/young adulthood beyond “I was a warrior born” or whatever the fuck. if you want to know about that idk go on the fucken... marvel wiki page or something

also--I hate that I have to put this out here and I doubt anyone would actually do this but just in case--I have spent like 1 million hours thinking about this because I have brain disorders and it is very close to my heart so please do not A) use this in fics, etc without letting me know/getting my permission in advance or B) reblog this post

anyways. this is a can of worms so I’m going to do a cheeky lil

first we have to get something out of the way: I hate the “shatterstar’s his own grandpa” paradox. I am sorry if this angers people but it makes me mad so I ignore it. the reason it bothers me is because it means alison blaire essentially married her grandson, which is A) weird and B) bad from a genetics perspective.

in my version of canon ‘star IS the biological child of longshot and dazzler but longshot wasn’t cloned using ‘star’s DNA because..... oh god... another whole separate post can be made about this but... in my head, on mojoworld the way genetic engineering works is not really the same as it is here. here genetic engineering generally means taking an existing genome and inserting or deleting genes. this is how they make, for example, animals that glow, or confer pesticide resistance to plants.

but on mojoworld I think the way they genetically engineer is more like... the way we mechanically engineer. like the entire organism is built from the ground up. there’s a master genetic blueprint which is essentially the “minimal genome” required for a functioning humanoid. this was created by study of Earth humans by arize and the other genetic engineers. they can then go in and customize by adding elements to the genome that code for the signals/building blocks that control things like height, strength, hair color, eye color, having hollow bones etc. so in my head longshot was sort of... designed with ‘star as the inspiration, but not directly cloned. that wouldn’t even make sense anyways because A) different hair color and B) LONGSHOT HAS 3 FINGERS ON EACH HAND and shatterstar has 4!! thats NOT HOW CLONES WOULD WORK!!!!

(side note, the concept of a minimal functional genome is a real thing in biology! some scientists have taken a bacterium that already has a small genome and reduced it to the minimum size required for viability. here is a wikipedia article on it and here is the original paper (DOI: 10.1126/science.286.5447.2165) which I can explain in more detail because I took a class on synthetic biology which this technically falls under and I had to read this paper very closely).

fuck I’ve written 4 paragraphs and not even talked about his childhood yet. I am so sorry. anyways. so the way I think they raise the gladiators on mojoworld is they create them in batches of 5 to 10 identical copies of a certain “model”, place each copy in a different “class” with a set of 2-3 mentors/teachers, and train them to fight until they are 13 or 14. until this time the only names they have are the names that identify the “model”--like for shatterstar that would be gaveedra-seven where the model identifier is “gaveedra” and he is (in the lore that I have come up with) the 7th of 8 total.

the reason they create multiples and put them in different classes is each mentor is going to have a slightly different style of teaching which is going to work better for some and worse for others, so it allows them to have more mass production while increasing the chances of creating a truly great champion. it’s classic nature versus nurture--the genetic engineers create your nature, but you don’t end up exactly the same as others of your model. maybe you get an edge, maybe you don’t.

another thing that happens is different mentors believe in different ways of raising the kids in their care. shatterstar specifically was raised in a class where there was absolutely zero emotional development at all and no attachments allowed beyond fighting alliances. that’s not the case in all classes, and it also had the effect of making him somewhat of an outsider even within the other gladiators as he got older.

at 13 or 14--and yes I realize this is very fucked up but dude its fucking mojoworld idk what you expected--they start participating in fights. the first ones aren’t to the death and they’re as teams and they’re not usually televised they’re more like high school sports games that are attended by scouts (here, they’re “sponsors”--I think that’s a canonical term but I honestly can’t remember) and if you get sponsored you leave your class and join a new “team” that’s really just a bunch of people who all have the same sponsorship. this is where things can get interesting because they’ve all been raised with slightly different fighting styles but more importantly, slightly different degrees of Personhood.

also at this point I should mention that by this time, there are usually only 2, maybe 3 of each model left. either they died or were recognized as not having talent so they were sent to eventually fulfill other roles in the network. in ‘star’s case there was just him and gaveedra-five. once you get to the stage where you’re sponsored and you’re actually fighting to the death one of the first people you’ll fight is any remaining members of your model group.

by the time you’re the only one left of your group, you’re also eligible to earn a stage name. this usually happens if you have a particularly epic fight with a lot of viewers, you win and the commentators will typically say something like “Let’s give this crowd a real name to cheer!” and they’ll have a few candidate names and they’ll kind of just pick one. AUGH I actually have this scene written out in story form but its too long so I think I’ll save it.... :) 

after you get a name you also get a cool outfit and usually some kind of mark or tattoo that serves as a brand. this brings me to another important point--shatterstar inherited the X-gene from alison and therefore he IS a mutant. his mutation is the swords vibration thing and the glowing eye. the star mark is a tattoo and teleportation is benjamin russell’s mutation (how he fits into all this is... for another post). basically after he got his name the costuming department guys were like “hey your eye glows, you look like the Legendary Warrior of Old, Longshot, we’re gonna pattern your look after him” so they gave him the star tattoo and the outfit that’s literally inverse colors of longshot’s.

also this brings me to another aside: you’re probably wondering “if he’s the biological kid of longshot and alison how are there 8 gaveedras?” when the genetic engineers got a hold on him as a baby they were like Sick! free baby! free genetic material! thats our job done for us! so they cloned him (in the traditional sense) and made 7 copies. this was also to kind of conceal his identity as technically being from outside mojoworld, which would make him stick out and thus be a target. they DID edit out the x-gene in the other gaveedra models though. this wasn’t a problem for ‘star because his mutation didn’t manifest until he was already sponsored.

I think that’s .... pretty much it for macroscopic lore on what it was like to be a kid gladiator on mojoworld. now let me give you some Tidbits of his life specifically:

like I said he was raised in a particularly cold and ruthless class. the mentors that raised him are like well-known by everyone to produce some of the best warriors but also there’s discourse on mojoworld because some people say perfectly emotionless killing machines aren’t as fun to watch. when he was sponsored there were 4-5 others in the same sponsorship and they were like Theres Something Wrong With You LOL

they speak earth languages on mojoworld because they’re imitating the broadcasts they (the spineless ones) used to hear from earth. however, most of the lower-class as well as almost all arena fighters and other television personalities speak cadre or other languages which are native to the planet. the stage names are all vaguely in english, but the gladiators don’t really understand them at first.

shatterstar got his name before he got the glowing eye, and when he learned what stars are, and saw his eye as a little star, he was like wow :) this is Me :) which is why that name is so important to him. it’s also one of the first things that wholly belonged to him.

(you can’t see stars on mojoworld because of light pollution and also because it’s a pocket dimension and there just aren’t that many stars to see)

I hate to bring up the s**ley miniseries but I do think it would be interesting to have him have a sort of ... mentor/first friend, similar to the concept of gringrave but they were NOT in a relationship. it was more like... another kid who was a year or so older than him got a soft spot for him and helped him not be so clueless. she didn’t make as much progress as xforce did, obviously. but they were.... something like friends.

unfortunately she was used by spiral to get shatterstar to murder the first rebel guy who tried to get him out of there. then she got switched sponsors (this can happen) and he had to kill her, and he was like well I will simply never develop any kind of attachment to anyone ever again.

he almost didn’t make it out of the first training session with his sponsorship group (this is semi-canon--there’s a reference when he’s teaching terry to swordfight to almost not surviving the first time he was in a gladiator class or whatever it was).

the closest he ever came to losing was the day he got the name. that’s why the crowds loved it so much.

the double-bladed sword was a gimmick weapon but when he got his mutation they realized it works way better if there’s resonance between two parallel blades so they redesigned it as an actual weapon.

(forgot this but I feel like I should include it) at 17 he escaped the arenas and joined the cadre alliance. two years later he came to earth and joined xforce.

anyway sorry. basically reader is clark kent a kryptonian leading a double life as a newbie at the daily planet and also saving the city on the reg and miyuki is the lois lane aka the hot shot journalist who keeps getting himself into danger while chasing leads and reader — as supergirl/superwoman — is like. Please stop.

and in my mind they meet cause he gets passed on some promotion putting him on the sports beat (i don’t know how any of that stuff works bear with me) while reader gets the investigation one and Yes he does have a past with baseball here but idk i’m trying to think of a motive that would have him preferring something other than sports (if i include clark and lois he would absolutely look up to her so that could be one) and anyway. He’s not happy abt it but he doesn’t know Who got the promo but reader finds out and trades hers with him and again he has no idea until he sniffs around and finds out and is Intrigued. idk. something something he keeps bothering her and also finds out she’s from smallville (like clark) and he does call her smallville teasingly (like lois does to clark)

what else. Not much. him realizing she (as supergirl we’ll go with that for now) is continually looking out for him while he gets into trouble and is a little smug and annoying about it all and just generally really blasé whenever he’s in a dangerous situation. or alternatively he keeps getting into trouble and reader is just like FINE but if you’re in a situation you know you can’t get out of — call me. and he’s like. What. and she’s like. Call me. because she’s supergirl she’s a kryptonian clark can canonically hear every voice on earth and even in space so she can too and in the literal billions of voices out there — she will hear his and she will come. but also by some point reader will be able to pinpoint his heartbeat in billions of them, she’ll be picking it out of a crowd by instinct, she just knows it. by heart. heh.

also after they get together he helps cover for her when people are like. wow reader sure is gone a lot. haha maybes she’s supergirl. and he’s like Don’t be an idiot i once saw her bump into a table and apologize to it. (This has happened). then also they get kidnapped together and he’s just so annoying about it while they’re being tied to chairs he’s just like Wow supergirl would be useful right now. and reader is just mouthing Stop talking. also thinking of this post as a reference for reader having to Act Like A Human when it comes to being attacked and he thinks it is just so incredibly funny

harry potter is a leo, a fire sign. you can see the fire and determination in how he learns defense (like with the patronus charm in 3rd year) he also has a very strong magical core. his core is like an ocean. he has those opposites inside himself.

harry was also a product of the war. the was pushed lily and snape away from each other (idk if they would ever be love intests, but that's not the point) the POINT is lily starts to hang out with the marauders, and falls in love with James. they get married young, because of the war. they have a kid young, because of the war. harry was *made* to be what ended the war. and your probably thinking "but arson! what about Neville?" Neville's parents were born from 1957- 1959 (the wiki page) they had time to get married before the war took over their lives.

james and lily didn't get that. they had a kid at 20 years old. harry was born because of the war.

also, say what you will, but JKR intended slytherins to be evil. she said in an interview or tweet? (I can't find it, help) that she wishes she sorted snape into gryffindor because he was good all along (at least, thats my interpretation) point being, she made gryffindor to be good, and slytherin to be bad. and what two houses was harry considered for? that's right. he has those opposites inside of him!

air also plays a huge role in the series. the first spell the trio learns is wingardium leviosa. a levitating spell. air. the first spell is associated to hogwarts and therefore to dumbledore.

then harry is allowed to join the quidditch team. which is flying. air. and who is the person that buys him his first broom, and who makes an exception to the rules? mcgonagall.

then there's snape. he's another earth sign. he is grounded. if the opposite to fire is water, then the opposite of earth is air. he is another of dumbledore's opposites. he is grounded where dumbledore is flighty. it shows in the way they use their magic. snape is inclined to potions, which deals almost entirely with things found in the earth (cauldron metals, plant ingredients, etc.)

dumbledore was a transfiguration teacher before he took the role as headmaster. (I honestly have nothing for this point, if you think of something, PLEASE add it on)

and guess who's another air sign. lily evans potter. the sign opposite to snape, and similar to dumbledore, and compatible to ron.

Hi I have another Lion Rose comment+question! Lion is as close to Connie as to Steven, so reimagining their interactions would be cool. It’s cute that Rose took care of Steven’s best friend. But when Steven got back to Earth after escaping from Homeworld for the first time, Connie and Lion ignored him for weeks. That rly hurt to see since Steven was just trying to protect them. It doesn’t make sense to me that Rose would leave Steven alone after his ordeal. What do you think abt it?

Hey, great question. Umm..what I think, based on the episodes preceding Steven’s decision in “I Am My Mom” it makes sense that Rose would agree with Connie. That arc is Steven & Connie’s biggest communication breakdown, probably. Connie pretty much told us where she was coming from and the Rose eps around have answers re Lion’s reaction too. I don’t have new insights to offer but I think it all tracks. This is the Dewey Wins conversation (source: SU wiki):

Steven: Connie! I know you got to get home and get some sleep, but once you're all rested up, I can't wait to tell you about everything! Being on Homeworld was crazy! After I turned myself in, they put me on trial! And Lars was there. We got chased by killer robots. Heh, what a wild ride that was! And uh... I'm really happy to see you again. Steven: Umm... A-Are you happy to see me, too? Connie: Of course I'm happy to see you, Steven. Steven: Uhh, but? Connie: But how could you just give yourself up like that? Steven: Well, first, I said I was my dad, and then I said I was my mom. Connie: No. I mean, you just gave up. Steven: I had to. They were gonna take all those people. They were gonna take you! Connie calls him out on it basically: he’s not looking at it from her perspective, he’s pretending he’s fine, they can’t have a conversation. That’s why she left, he wouldn’t talk to her. Connie aired frustrations with Steven shutting her out before, like in Full Disclosure. She has struggled to name her place on the team and confront feelings of uselessness, like The New Crystal Gems, Lion 2, Gem Hunt. Not only that, but the trajectory of Steven and Connie (or Stevonnie) fighting as a team up to and during the Topaz/Aqua stuff, of course she’d be hurt that at the moment of crisis he turned away and sacrificed himself instead. Steven recognizes that, he says it when he apologizes in Kevin Party (which Lion is also present for):

Connie: Steven, I wasn't trying to ignore you. I was going to text you back. I-I wrote, "I can't talk to you right now." But then I realized if I sent it, that would be talking to you. And it didn't make any sense- Iwasn't making any sense. If we were going to talk, I thought it's got to be in person. So I rode Lion to your house, but there was a note that said, "Gone vacationing", and then I ran into Kevin and he said you'd be here, but, uhh, maybe this is still too soon. I-I don't even know what to say to you. I'm... angry? I miss you? I feel like I'm out of my mind. Steven: No, you're not. I surrendered myself to Homeworld. I let them take me away, maybe forever, and then I came back and I tried to act like it was no big deal. But it was a big deal. I couldn't stand the thought of you being taken away on that spaceship, but... Then I did that to you. I promised you we'd always be a team, and... I let you down. I'm sorry. Jam buds?

And Steven’s most recent interactions with Rose have had a similar theme, namely trying to impress upon Steven that Rose had no secret magical destiny master plan for him and he isn’t responsible for her actions. 

Storm in the Room:

Steven: And that's why I'm here, isn't it?! Did you just make me, so you just wouldn't have to deal with your mistakes?! Steven: Is that all that I’m here for?... Rose: Steven, you know that isn't true. In the tape I left you, I told you I how much I wanted to have you and let you exist. Do you think what I said to you in the tape was a lie?

Lion 4:

Steven: There has to be a clue somewhere. Mom says she wanted to have me. But that must mean there's a reason. There has to be something I was meant to do. My magical Gem destiny.

Steven: They won't say it, but... I know they expect something big from me. But how can I fulfill my destiny if I don't even know what it is? Who am I supposed to be?

Steven: No... Please! There was supposed to be something here to tell me my purpose! This is just a bunch of garbage Mom left behind! 

Greg says it outright at the end of Lion 4, just as the tape reaches the same point:

Greg: Steven, she just wanted you to be you. When you have a kid, you have no idea who they're gonna be. Even Garnet couldn't predict it. That's what was so exciting to your mom, that life is full of so many possibilities, and you would get to explore them for yourself. I mean, you could be Steven or Nora or anyone else. And you can always change your name. Hey, I did. Rose (TV): "Because you're going to become something extraordinary. You're going to be a human being. That's my favorite part. A human being. A human is an action. I wonder who, how you'll be, what you'll think, what you'll want. Oh, I'm so happy for everyone who's going to know you. I'm rambling. If they look to you, trust yourself. Take care of them, Nora." Steven: So that's it. I'm just... supposed to be her kid. Greg: Well... yeah. Is that okay? Steven: Yeah. *wipes away his tears* I think I can handle that.

He still feels like he has to take on responsibility for everything - I Am My Mom is a perfect storm because he feels responsible for handing Peridot everyone’s names, so technically he is trying to pay for his own actions, it’s a choice he makes that isn’t about magical destiny - he’s just using his mom’s name as leverage to punish himself, basically. This and his behavior returning in Dewey Wins are not unlike Rose’s approach, and she knows how that goes from experience.

So then, when Steven hands himself over in I Am My Mom he uses literally the one action + delivery method to piss off both:

Steven: I get it now. I'm the only one who can stop what she started. I can stop all of it! Garnet: You're wrong! Steven, get down here! Steven: She wouldn't have wanted this. But I do.

Connie: No! Don't you dare! Steven: I love you. Connie: No! Stooop!

and Connie ^ simultaneously. So idk it makes sense to me that when he gets back, they’re relieved to see he’s ok, and also angry, because they were so worried and they can see him pushing people away. These two have always been better at reading Steven & calling him in than the other CGs.

This took me way longer than it should’ve because I haven’t really seen a lot of stuff for Seychelles to build my own theories on… but anyway here goes!

- She’s a nature baby; she feels most at home on the seashore/beach but never feels alone if she’s around plants and animals and stuff. Apparently, Seychelles has extremely successful conservation efforts, and has numerous species that are unique to the country, so yeah, Seychelles would love animals and plants and everything that lives on her islands. When she’s in a forest or near the sea, she’s never lonely.

- Also a corollary to that, I think she’d love gardening. Just like being near the earth and the soil and the plants is just really relaxing for her.

- Dresses! Especially brightly colored ones, those are her favorites, but she’s not adverse to wearing pants either, she just prefers not to if possible. Also she loves flowy skirts that ripple in the breeze

- Frets a lot, and a bit of a worrywort over small things.

- I guess related to that, she’s bit insecure, mostly because a lot of people don’t really about know her. I can see her quietly observing people she really looks up to (both in terms of personality and how their country is doing). At some point, she definitely said: “Taiwan, is my hair/dress/makeup okay? Does it look good?” Worries about her appearance sometimes, but 10/10 rocks everything she wears (even if she might not believe it)

- I think she’d be very proud of her culture, even though I think in a strip she laments over speaking a mysterious language (?). I think she’d like the fact that her people are so multicultural, and she takes a lot of pride representing them, making sure to correctly portray all the subtle nuances of her people.

- Related to that, she’s very tolerant of whatever insecurities you might have. She almost never judges people when they confess, save perhaps a bit of giggling if it’s something silly like a crush. But if you want her to be serious, she’ll do it for sure.

- Maybe a bit of an airhead? Idk I have no explanation, she just seems like that to me. However, she’s mostly sensible with a smidge of recklessness sprinkled into her personality.

- She’s really excitable, and pretty extroverted. It just takes a bit of time for her to loosen up to you about things she doesn’t like about herself, as well as talking about heavy/serious subjects

- The wiki says she laments over her high cost of living, and how she used to be “rich and strong, but has become poor and useless”, however: Seychelles has the highest HDI (Human Development Index) in Africa, at 0.797 (rounded to 0.8), so idk how she’s now “poor and useless”?? Like bro, Seychelles’s HDI is higher than a whole ton of countries (ex. China) that are a lot larger than it, so I think she’s doing pretty well off right now! Except Wikipedia says that real Seychelles’s class (?) gap is still pretty large, with the rich making lots more money, but overall I think she’d be OK with where her country’s at! Like things definitely need to be improved but it’s not too bad!

- Friendos with Canada and Iceland, they’ve had “interactions” in canon from the wiki, and I think they’d just be like the “forgotten” trio, since all three have stated (I think) that people tend not to remember them when they think of ____ (insert relevant geographic place). Also these three have a lot of wild areas in their country, so I think they’d relate to each other because of that.

- History: this is all coming from Wikipedia so things might be incorrect. Anyways, I was a bit surprised to find Seychelles didn’t have a native population and was first settled by French planters and their slaves in the 1700s (I think). When the English took over, they didn’t really change that many of the French policies? They just seemed to let Seychelles alone, but during WWI and WWII, it seems as though British-Seychelles relationships got a little tense, because they were sorta ignoring their colony and the economy was kinda shaky and stuff. So I see France-Sey as having a better relationship, they go and talk a whole lot together and they’re more on an even level now than in the colony period. I like how the wiki says France raised her, but I’m throwing the groping and perviness stuff out the window, that never happened (I think France as a colonizer wasn’t that bad??). I think England was more of her teacher, much as he was with HK, and he and Sey bicker more than with France, mostly because England is an endless nag and France is more carefree and lets Sey get her way more. They clash less on most things. I’m not going to get into the post-colonial period because the whole dictatorship/one-party rule is a fine line to walk on, but I don’t think she’d be ok with the govt at that time, to say the least.

- I think if she’d take care of kids, eg volunteering at a daycare or something, she’d like kids 7-10 the most; little kids are fine and very cute but she likes how the older ones have more maturity/awareness about the world around them while still maintaining this childish innocence and silliness, she thinks it’s really endearing.

- She’ll be really interested in most things anyone has to say (good listener), besides politics and offensive topics. Tedious things like paperwork and politics tend to bore her but she tries her best to listen to the important parts. Note taking helps her stay focused

Throwing people to their, for lack of better words, god, to feed off of their fears and occasionally try to kick of rituals to make their god strong and getting some sweet powers as a reward!

Also called The Center, Choke, Too Close I Cannot Breathe.

The fear of claustrophobia, small spaces, of being unable to breathe and the underground and dust. Being at the centre of everything and it is all pushing down. Fear of being trapped without enough space.

Notable avatar person I can think of is 18th centry guy who worked in a grave yard and would nap in the graves cause it was quiet and when they installed bells incase someone was actually alive when they burried them they could ring it, so someone rang it and he cut the line because he thought they were nice and deserved to sleep, also early episode lost johns cave is a good example but doesnt have an avatar in it so hfgh

The Corruption :

Also called Filth, The Crawling Rot, or The Hive.

This entity is linked closely to our feelings of disgust, of feeling revulsion and fear of corruption, disease, filth. Manifests as mould, bugs, rot, decay, infection. The feeling of your skin crawling.

Jane Prentiss, she wanted to be loved and found love in a bunch of worms in a wasp nest in her attic, so she became their hive, she loves her worms and her worms love her, they sing

Also other guy I genuinely don't know his name he just made everyone sick at that retirement home with disease and hung out at hill top road a few times, got sealed in concrete and he always looked like he was skin and slightly rotting

The Dark :

Also called Mr. Pitch, The Forever Blind, The Sandman

A manifestation of our very primal fear of the dark, of what lies beyond what we can sense. What might be in it?

The Desolation :

Also called The Lightless Flame, The Torturing Flame, The Devastation, Blackened Earth.

Acolytes are enriched by destroying the lives of people who had things to live for, destroying things before their potential is realised. In exchange, the cult members can create heat--but not fire--and gain the ability to make their skin run like wax.

They burn from the inside and consume everything in flames, Jude Perry and Agnes Montague are the two i know, Agnes was born into it and died because of forbidden love and Jude set her girlfriends flat on fire so hgfhfg

The End :

Also called Death, Terminus, The Coming End That Waits For All And Cannot Be Ignored.

This entity deals in the fear of death itself, uncaring and unstoppable.

No known attempts at a ritual, presumably because it sees no need to, as Death claims all in the end.

Oliver Banks!! Had dreams of strings that tied people to their deaths, actual rational avatar, also didnt ask for this but he does pretty well. Also commited identity fraud

The Eye :

Also called Beholding, The Watcher, The Ceaseless Watcher, It Knows You.

This entity is fear of being watched, exposed, followed, of having secrets known, but also the drive to know and understand, even if your discoveries might destroy you. Fear that you’re suffering for the sake of something watching.

Elias!! Horrible man!! Can body hop! Just wants to watch the drama unfold and get more power. Knows lots of things and compulsion ! Also Jon because he reckless curiosity kinda screwed him over there and yeah. And that one security guy who got consumed by a watcher lietner watching other people via security camera, rip that guy

The Flesh :

Also called Viscera.

Born from the fear of animals bred for meat, and in the human realisation that we are just animated meat and bones.

Manifests as strange bodies being twisted, reshaped, and butchered.

Thought to be the newest of the 14, born around the time of the Industrial Revolution

Jared Hopworth! Got a Lietner, runs a gym to change bodies into what people want until they're practically not human anymore, likes most bones if they're good bones

The Hunt :

Hunting and chase and violence, this is an animalistic fear, very old and primal. Fear of being hunted, being prey.

Less able to affect people due to our self-removal from the food chain. Self-proclaimed monster hunters (and those who do the same without referring to themselves as such) run a strong chance of becoming Hunters and then having a need to hunt and kill monsters.

Daisy! Things get kinda messed up when you combine non-human impulses with a person so! Murder! violence!

The Lonely :

Also called Forsaken, The One Alone The fear of isolation, of being completely cut off and alone. Fear of being disconnected.

Peter lukas, Martin, grew up lonely and shunned idk what you expected, can literally vanish, cool aethetic- Also that one girl who married one of the lukas’, nayomi? But she wasnt an avatar just with one

The Slaughter :

This entity feeds off of pure, unpredictable, unmotivated violence. Strong ties to war. Fear of not knowing, where, when, how or if pain will come but that it will. Can be violent like a frenzied killer or calm and regimented like soldiers firing on the battlefield.

The Spiral :

Also called Es Mentiras, It Is Lies, The Twisting Deceit, It Is Not What It Is.

This entity is fear of madness, of being lost, that your world is wrong, that your mind is lying to you. It deals with deception, lying, deceiving the mind and senses.

The Stranger :

Also called I Do Not Know You.

Fear of the unknown. That creeping sense that something isn’t right. Also of unfamiliar people. Manifests as objects pretending to be humans, like mannequins and taxidermied people.

Also called The Falling Titan.

This entity deals in our fear of our own insignificance in this universe, of losing yourself in too much space. Its effects involve void, vertigo, and falling, but also anything to do with openness and open spaces, fears like Agoraphobia, fear of deep water.

The Web :

Also called The Spider, Mother of Puppets.

Deals with fear of being controlled, entrapped, being trapped and not knowing it, and your will not being your own, of being manipulated. Manifests as spiders and spider webs and patterns like spider webs.

The Extiction :

Also called The Terrible Change, The Future Without Us, The World Is Always Ending

The 15th Entity hypothesized by Adelard Dekker to be currently emerging. 

It is not yet confirmed to actually exist, if it is yet to be officially born, or if it is a combination of other powers and their overlap. It deals with the fear of catastrophic change, the destruction of humanity and its replacement by something different, especially via mankind's own causing.

Man-made elements are one of its hallmarks.

Avatars of other Entities would like to prevent it from emerging if possible.

Have you played the SS route? I just finished it and idk I got the feels that Seteth kinda implied that he sees himself as above humans? Or at least that the ppl need the church (and the world as it was before war) for guidance or else they’ll lose the right path or sum and I wanted to know what u think about it.

Tbh, I haven’t played any route. I sadly can’t afford a Switch at the moment, let alone the game to go with it. So my only experience with the game comes from watching clips, videos of playthroughs, and wiki pages. So unfortunately I might miss a few of the little details.

I also don’t know a whole lot of Silver Snow just yet. I got into this thanks to falling in love with Edelgard, so SS is kinda...emotionally hard to sink into. I’m going to have to if I want to keep going on that long multichapter I keep hinting at, though, so I’ll have to keep an eye out for this, too.

I can speak a little out of my perception of the Church based on the stuff I have seen, though. And yes, I think the members of the Church - in particular Rhea and her family - see themselves as the moral compass for humanity. Much like how the Catholic Church saw itself in the height of its power. Yes, power and control over the people are good and all, but that’s all just an added bonus to the real reason they’re in charge - because humans are fallible creatures and need someone to rule over them and guide them down the path to heaven.

Their intentions might be good. In Silver Snow especially, Rhea ends up mostly maintaining her sanity and her benevolent personality. And while many of her decisions might have had a selfish or misguided purpose, I truly do think she wants what’s best for humanity. The same goes for Seteth, as well. They are the opposite of the Agarthans in every sense, where the Agarthans wish to wipe humanity from the face of the Earth, the Church wants to guide it to salvation. However, both the Church and the Agarthans are on extreme ends of the spectrum, as they both end up with such intense, oppressive, and destructive ideologies being imposed on the people they wish to lead.

This is the thing Edelgard takes issue with. Freedom is a vital part of being human, but the way the Church seeks to guide humanity involves removing a great many personal and societal freedoms. Anything that could impede their ability to “guide” humanity is eliminated, which seems fine if one benefits from the system. Had the Church kept themselves as a moral guide and nothing more, then they might not have ended up as her main target before TWSITD. But the moment any political or moral leadership system sees itself as “above” the group it’s leading, it begins walking a dangerous line it will eventually fall from. And depending on how high above it fancies itself, it could be in for a long fall.
