# tsukishima kei - perfect match
a/n: watch me suddenly appear out of nowhere after the school year has finally ended to post something!! i'm sure absolutely no one is surprised that tsukishima is the centre of this fic, but tbh idk how to feel about it (it's definitely longer than my usual ones but i didn't proofread it, so idk if the lenght is an advantage or not) but i hope you'll like it ^^ with school being over for the next two months i'll finally have time to write, so expect more works soon!!
summary: you and tsukishima decide to help your friends get together, but the plan is long forgotten when you realize what your own feelings are.
warnings: nothing really, canon yamayachi (my loves), some light swearing, bad writing
tsukishima kei did not expect any of his friends to bother him in the middle of the night. hell, he didn't even expect any of them to disturb his alone time at all. and yet at exactly 2.34 in the morning, right as he was about to turn off his currently binge watched tv show and go to sleep, he felt his phone buzzing on the nightstand.
his eyes focused on your name, written in white font on his phone screen, surely shocked by the sight.
'why are you calling me at 2 in the goddamn morni-'
'is yamaguchi interested in anyone?'
your question caught him off-guard even more than the call itself, his brows furrowing in a weirded-out look.
'if you're asking for yourself, i'm positive that he is not interested.'
tsukishima heard a sigh of annoyance on the other side of the call and could only imagine the exact look on your face in this very moment.
'well, thank god, because i'm not asking for myself.' you said. there were muffled sounds of someone preparing food in the background. 'i'm asking for yachi.'
the blonde boy smiled unconsciously.
'he does like her.' the boy stated, turning off his laptop as he put it back on the desk. 'so much so, in fact, that it can be kind of annoying sometimes.'
you squealed with excitement, a giggle leaving your mouth at tsukishima's remark.
'perfect! now, listen carefully.'
that singular phone call created an alliance between you and kei. an alliance with only one goal; getting your two best friends to finally confess to each other. to both of you, it was almost infuriating how blind they were; how they didn't notice just how obvious it was that they both shared the same feeling. constant blushing at as little as a mention of the other's name, the stolen glances, the very obvious pining - all of it seemed to be non-existent in the eyes of both yamaguchi and yachi.
but lucky for them, you had a plan.
his eyes lingered on you for a few seconds, as if awaiting a sign from you. tsukishima still thought of your 'master plan' as rather silly, but seeing the determination on your face, and the frown that appeared when he called your idea stupid was enough for him to sigh and go with it this once.
the four of you were currently occupied with studying for a math test coming up next week, everyone nose deep in their notebooks. well, everyone except for kei.
the boy cleared his throat almost theatrically, drawing the attention of the three of you.
'yamaguchi, i think i'll have to pass on the movies this weekend.' he said, the tone of his voice as lifeless as ever. 'akiteru insisted that i go to one of his games, so i guess you'll have to take someone else.'
the freckled boy looked a little troubled upon hearing the information. both you and tsukishima were well aware that the tickets to the cinema were already paid for; yamaguchi would definitely be sad if it all went to waste.
'well, i guess i can ask hina-'
'yachi, didn't you tell me last week that you wanted to go to the movies with someone?' you barged in before the boy could even finish his sentence, your friend freezing in her spot at the mention of a conversation you had not that long ago, cheeks flushed pink at the mere thought of going somewhere with yamaguchi one-on-one. 'maybe you'd fill in for tsukki?'
the girl glanced at you, panic in her eyes as an awkward silence filled the room, everyone waiting for her to answer. you gave her an encouraging smile, as if trying to non-verbally tell her to go for it, to use this as a chance to get closer to the boy she liked for so long.
'if yamaguchi doesn't mind...' she mumbled quietly, head turning to face the boy who was already shaking his head.
'of course i don't.' yamaguchi smiled, his small dimples showing up in the process.
you glanced over to look at tsukishima, a triumphant smile on your face as if you just won a volleyball tournament. his hair was slightly messy, and his glasses were sliding off his nose, two of the top buttons on his school uniform unbuttoned, showing a bit of his collarbones. surprisingly enough, the blonde boy smiled back; a small, quick smile that your eyes barely noticed. you had no idea what it was, but something about that singular smile made your heart beat faster.
don't. the main focus of this entire thing is to get yachi and yamaguchi together. not to think of tsukishima and how attractive he looks-
shit.
developing a crush on tsukishima kei was certainly not part of your plan.
at first, you tried ignoring it as much as you could, focusing solely on your friends and getting them to date. as time went on and yamaguchi and yachi started getting closer, you almost felt a sense of relief - you could finally stop spending so much time around tsukishima, which made your chances of getting over your stupid crush higher.
but it wasn't as easy as you thought. tsukishima was intelligent, pretty, and his snarky remarks and judgy personality actually drew you to him even more with each passing day. through the countless conversations and numerous phone calls, he proved himself to be more than just a salty, mean guy that everyone viewed him as.
'soon enough, they won't even need our help.' you mumbled to yourself as you opened your bento box, a smile on your face as you noticed your mom homemade onigiri inside. 'i don't know what i'll do with myself then.'
tsukishima scoffed, closing the textbook in front of him.
'maybe start focusing on your own love life for once.'
'hey! it's not my fault that i'm a good friend.' you stated, mouth full of food, as you looked up at your friend sitting on the opposite side of the table, looking through the tasks assigned for next week. 'besides, it's not like i'm the only one.'
tsukishima adjusted his glasses, looking up at you for a mere second before focusing back on his notebook.
'touché.'
'oh, come on.' you whined out, dissatisfied with the lack of response from the blonde boy. 'you won't miss this even a little bit?'
alright, maybe just a bit-
'no.' tsukishima stated firmly, fixing his posture as he highlighted one of the important sentences written down. you heard a bit of hesitation in his voice, and the few seconds of silence before hearing an answer couldn't help but make you wonder. you decided to ignore it this time - he was focused on something else right now, there was no need to disturb him.
'do you think yachi will like my outfit?'
tsukishima was sitting at the edge of his best friend's bed, mindlessly scrolling through his phone and occasionally looking up to see the twelfth - no, thirteenth shirt that yamaguchi has tried on already. the boy sighed, turning his device off.
'it's your first official date, i'm sure she doesn't mind what you wear.' he stated, gaining a frown from yamaguchi.
'you didn't answer my question.'
'alright, i think she'll like it.' the blonde haired boy said, reaching out for a bag of chips, opening it with a loud sound. 'but i'm sure she'll focus more on the date itself rather than what you're wearing.'
ever since announcing to their friends that they're going on their first official date, both yamaguchi and yachi were full of stress, constantly overthinking every little detail from their outfit to whether or not the date will go well or not. tsukishima found it rather comical - it was only a date after all. why stress over it so much? he never went on one, obviously, but he always thought that when the day came, he'd approach it calmly.
'do you have any tips on how to not freak out?' yamaguchi asked suddenly, catching his friend off-guard. 'during the date, i mean.'
'how can i know? i've never gone on one.'
the freckled boy looked at tsukishima, a confused expression on his face as he processed his words.
'oh.' he paused for a second, his voice quieter when he continued speaking. 'i thought you and y/n were, you know, a thing.'
huh?
to say tsukishima was shocked was an understatement. he genuinely had no idea what to say; he never even let a thought of you and him being more than friends, 'partners in crime', as you loved to say, slip through his mind. never did it occur to him that someone from the outside would see your relationship as being something more than a merely platonic one.
well, maybe there was something to it after all.
yamaguchi's words made him wonder - although he did find you annoying at times, it was only occasionally and to a very little degree. that in itself was very rare in tsukishima's eyes, as he found most of the people surrounding him at least normally annoying. you, on the other hand, were a completely different case. your jokes, no matter how awkward or downright cringe, made him crack a silent laugh more often than not, and every time he saw you smile, his lips uncontrollably curved up into a small, barely noticeable one themselves.
'oh, no, absolutely not.' the blonde blurted out after a long minute of silence, the tips of his ears turning a bright shade of red. 'there is not a single bone in my body that would want to date her. now get up idiot, or you'll be late to your date.'
the moment tsukishima opened his bedroom, after walking his friend to the bus stop, he immediately plopped down on his bed, phone in hand, instinctively opening messages to write to you. surprisingly enough, a message was already waiting for him.
'yachi almost cried because of how stressed she is T-T'
'do you think we should spy on them to make sure it all goes well?'
he found himself smiling at the words on his phone screen, quickly typing back an answer.
'do you really not have a life of your own?'
'idiot.'
only after a few minutes did he get a response from you.
'can i come over?? i'm bored :33'
a harmless message, one might think. in reality, tsukishima was freaking out at the mere thought of hanging out with you for a reason other than setting up your friends, his cheeks a light shade of pink as his eyes kept digging a hole through his phone.
you weren't any better than him - hands slightly shaky as you awaited a response for what felt like hours, but was actually just a few minutes. you had no idea what took over you; was it a sudden wave of bravery or rather an idiotic spontaneous choice to ask tsukishima that. but nonetheless, when you finally got the response, you felt ecstatic.
'alright.'
'bring some snacks.'
'kei, i think yamaguchi is he- oh, that's certainly a new face.'
you stood in front of the door with an awkward smile, facing tsukishima's older brother, akiteru, his eyes scanning you from head to toe. to say he was surprised was an understatement - he looked as if he'd seen a ghost. as if a friend that's not yamaguchi coming over to tsukishima's house was so out of the ordinary that it could become a national holiday.
'come in.' the younger male appeared in the back of the hall, an oversized dinosaur shirt and shorts on. his expression was softer than usual; not until he looked at his brother, whom he gave a sharp stare, signaling him to let you inside and don't make such a fuss about it.
you sat down on his bed, awkward silence filling up the room. not wanting to make the conversation about your friends as per usual, you slowly realized you don't know what to talk about, trying to think of something, anything, as you began unpacking your bag filled with snacks.
surprisingly enough, it was tsukishima who spoke up first.
'wanna watch a movie?' he asked, opening his drawer to pull out two bottles of soda, hidden there so that his brother doesn't devour all of them. 'unless it'll make you even more bored than you were before.'
'well, if you have a boring taste in movies-'
'says the one who looks like their favorite movie is mamma mia.' tsukishima scoffed under his breath, turning his laptop on and starting to search up movies. you looked at him, a dramatic expression as you pretended to be offended.
'and you look like you're about to mansplain the godfather to me.'
a short silence filled the room before you heard the blonde boy let out a short, muffled laugh at your comment.
'you couldn't be more wrong.' he sat down next to you, a small smile still on his face. 'i found it kind of boring, actually.'
'what do you like, then?'
'horror movies.' tsukishima stated, eyes focused on the screen. 'but tadashi gets easily scared, so i often don't have a chance to watch them.'
'same with me and yachi.' you said, unconsciously scooping a bit closer to the boy as you tried to get a better look at what he was searching up. 'i love them, but yachi jumps at every small scare on the screen. sometimes, she even gets scared when there's nothing happening at all.'
'they really do match each other.' he mumbled, putting the laptop on the bed as he pressed play on a movie he chose. his eyes quickly glanced your way to get a nod of approval on his choice.
'yeah, they do.'
and we could, too.
'are you and tsukishima dating?'
you almost spat out your drink, the words coming out of hinata's mouth catching you so off-guard you were close to choking.
the three of you, along with kageyama, were currently cleaning up after volleyball practice, the boys racing on who would clean more balls off of the floor.
'no, we're not.' you said in a clearly sad tone with an obvious hint of dissatisfaction in your voice. 'what the hell made you think that way?'
the orange haired boy stopped in his tracks, his signature smile disappearing for a minute as he got lost in his own thoughts.
'oh! i remember now.' he said after a short while, his grin coming back. 'yamaguchi told me that you two are close.'
'he did also mention that he seems happier around you.' kageyama added, joining the conversation. 'seeing tsukishima happy must be pretty scary.'
not really, you thought. but at the same time, what confused you more was what kageyama said right before.
he seems happier around you.
yamaguchi has been kei's friend for the longest time, so any of his observations must be true, or at least that's what you liked to believe. but would that mean that tsukishima kei, the salty, closed-off guy whom everyone finds intimidating could possibly like you? was there truly a possibility that he enjoyed spending time with you?
as you finished cleaning up the hall, saying your goodbyes to your two friends who ran off to practice volleyball somewhere else, a familiar, tall figure appeared in the doorframe, sharp eyes staring at you with an expression that you couldn't exactly decipher.
'want me to walk you home?' he asked, hands in his pockets. 'it's getting late.'
you looked at him, trying to hide the blush creeping up onto your cheeks before quickly nodding as an answer.
'sure, let's go.'
most of the walk was filled with silence on both parts, exactly as you expected. even though it might've felt awkward for some, you did enjoy his presence in itself enough that a conversation wasn't necessary.
the boy stopped in his tracks mid-way, reaching into his backpack and pulling out his phone and an old pair of white, wired earphones, showing them to you as a silent question of whether you wanted to listen to music with him or not. you agreed without a second thought, a small smile on your face as he put on one of his playlists.
'i really like this song.' you mumbled, eyes lighting up upon hearing the familiar melody. with both of you wearing the same set of headphones right now, you were practically forced to walk closer to each other - hands constantly brushing against one another, a faint blush on your face as you tried to ignore it and focus on the music.
tsukishima, on the other hand, couldn't shake away the thoughts roaming around his head. he felt as if what he was doing now was incredibly unlike him; and maybe it was. but for some reason, he didn't mind being like this around you. less cocky, sarcastic, mean and more... gentle.
he could feel his fingers brushing against yours from time to time, and it drove him crazy. should he go for it and play it off nonchalantly, or just ignore it? should he even make the first move or wait for you to do it?
before he was able to decide, tsukishima felt your hand reaching for his, heart rate immediately speeding up as your fingers shyly intertwined with his, looking the other way to hide your anxious expression.
his hand was much bigger than yours, but somehow it fit perfectly with yours. as if they were created solely to hold one another and nothing else. the plan to get your friends to be together was long forgotten by now - your mind was clouded with thoughts of tsukishima only, and little did you know that his wasn't any different.
you glanced his way only to find his eyes already on you, hiding his true feelings behind a nonchalant look. only now did you notice that the two of you were standing in front of your house, the boy adjusting his glasses as he waited to see what you'll do next.
'i guess i should go home now.' you mumbled, but you still didn't move an inch, hand not leaving his. 'see you tomorrow?'
his hand squeezed yours tightly before taking it away, an unusually warm and welcoming smile on his face.
'sure. see you tomorrow, idiot.'
but as you slowly made your way towards the door, tsukishima couldn't shake away the feeling in him, telling him to go for it. and as much as he tried to resist it, he just couldn't anymore.
'wait.’
before you could fully turn away, tsukishima kei's lips were already on yours, a sweet, long kiss that felt as if he was waiting to do it for years. his hand traveled to your waist and it didn't take long for you to react; lips moving swiftly with his, noses bumping into one another before you pulled away, a giggle escaping your mouth as you saw just how red tsukishima's face was.
‘don't laugh at me, moron.’ he said, immediately catching the reason for your laughter as he flicked you in the forehead. ‘your whole face is red, too.’
‘i didn't expect you to do this.’ you mumbled, eyes focused on his as you reached to hold his hand again. ‘didn't expect my feelings to be mutual, either.’
‘i'm glad we feel the same.’ his face leaned in closer to yours, a wave of confidence taking over him as he placed a short kiss on your forehead. ‘but i would still prefer to properly ask you out. if you'd say yes, that is.’
‘of course i would.’ you smiled, ‘i'd be stupid not to.’
‘should we bet on how long it takes the others to realize we're dating now?’ tsukishima smiled at you, eyes not leaving yours for even a spare second. you laughed at his idea, giving his hand a squeeze.
‘get ready to lose, kei.’
‘you wish.’

prequel
wc. 1,926
spring had just began, more warm days after months of freezing cold weather. today, however, seemed to be one of the few cold, rainy days february had left. you had finished homework earlier today, always wanting to have your weekends free as much as you can, so you decided to occupy your mind with something else more calming.
after finishing the last of your ap psychology assignment, you walked to your kitchen and made yourself a quick matcha. as you measured the green powder into your cat mug - a lovely gift peter got you because one of the cats in the bug is a calico, like your own cat - a thud was heard from your room. it was followed by an 'ow' quickly after, causing a small smile to form on your lips.
peter.
at the sudden noice, autumn, your calico cat, run cautiously out of your room. after finishing your matcha with some creamer, you also walked to your room.
peter looked towards the door upon sensing you. his spidey sense usually only triggered when danger was near, however, when it came to you, peter was able to feel you. he couldn't describe it, but there was something in you that made him feel safe. it was a warm feeling that ran down his spine, and maybe it was because he was in your room, but he could also smell the vanilla lotion you love to use. everything about you made him feel like he was engulfed by a soft blanket.
so it was no surprise that the first thing peter did was offer you a smile. you automatically smile back of course. how could you not when he looks at you like that, like he was going to somehow bring you the moon he often photographed because it made him think of you.
'it's raining,' peter pointed with a boyish grin. the obvious pitter patter coming from your windows made you tilt your head playfully. 'you don't say.'
peter patrolled the streets of new york everyday as his alter ego, spider-man. but on days like this, he likes to use the weather as an excuse to come see you earlier instead. he has a build in heater in his suit of course, but in his opinion it doesn't work as well as a good cuddling season with you.
peter sets his masks down on your night stand. 'cuddles?'
you took a sip of your matcha as you walked to your desk. 'i have to work on my portfolio.' you heard him walk to your dresser that sat on the corner of your room where you had a drawer with his clothes to change to after patrol. 'i thought you were done with it?'
'yea, it's just,' your fingers glossed over your sketches. junior year was ending and soon college applications will start. it had been your dream to attend the art school of chicago, and now that applications are around the corner, you want to make sure everything is perfect. 'it doesn't feel complete.'
once peter was out of his wet suit and into his favorite pair of bright pink hello kitty pants matched with a plain white tee, he sneaked his arms around you, taking your comforting scent in. you felt him place a kiss in your hair, 'i think it's perfect.'
you turn to look at him with an unimpressed expression. his smile widens and he can't fight the urge to kiss you any longer. peter gently presses his lips into yours. he's always been delicate with his kisses, especially after being spider-man. you knew it was his way to ground himself after a day of fighting criminals, so you let him be as soft as he needed.
you loved it that way. you loved him that way.
peter pulls away first. 'i have some photos i took last week. you could draw some if you need.'
peter's hobby went hand in hand with your art. thanks to being spider-man, he was able to take some shots of new york no one else would be able to obtain, and he often let you sketch them, so often that half of his storage is pictures he takes for you to draw. the other half is probably of you.
you hum in agreement, still looking into peter's eyes. you have never loved brown as much as you do now.
'tomorrow.' peter took your mug in one hand, then used the other to hold your hand while he drag you over to bed. 'today, we cuddle.' he set your bug on the night stand.
you smile. 'okay.'
you two settled under your warm covers with you closest to your mug incase you want a sip, but before you could find a comfortable position, peter stood up, muttering a quick 'wait!'.
you frown, but understood what he was doing when he pulled a lighter from your drawer in the night stand. he lit up the candle that rested on top. apple pumpkin. you bought a few pumpkin scented candles last fall, and peter grew to love this specific one. he wasn't a fan of scented candles because of his enhanced smell, but this one was subtle enough for him to enjoy without getting a headache.
once peter returned to bed, he wrapped his arms around your waist with his head on your chest. he slightly tilted his head to plant a kiss into your skin. 'i love you.'
his whispered confession filled you with butterflies. you don't know what you did to be lucky enough to love this boy in your arms, let alone be loved back by him. one of your hands wrapped around his back, while the other caressed his check, slightly squishing his face. his chuckles echoed in the room along the rain when you started kissing his face.
two kisses on his right check, two more on the left, three on his forehead, and one on the bridge of his nose.
'i love you more.'
a bright smile stayed on peter's face as he shook his head. 'that's not possible.' your smile matched his, 'i think it is. no, i know it is.'
'i love you most.' before you could disagree, you felt his hands sneak under your shirt, cutting you off by tickling your sides. you squeak in surprise and try to squirm away. your laughter fills peter's ears, 'okay! i can't breathe!'
peter paused his movements and you inhale to suggest, 'we both love each other equally.'
peter makes a thinking face. 'i'll let you have this win,' he rolled his eyes playfully before settling in your arms again.
the two of you stayed intertwined in bed until you felt peter's breathing slow down, indicating he had fallen asleep. his weight was on your side now, but looking down at him you decided you wanted to engrave this moment forever.
swiftly, you reached for the small sketchbook you keep on your night stand. thankfully, you had left a pencil there too. you sat up slightly, making sure not to disturb peter's slumber. his arms tighten around you making you freeze, but the light snores coming from peter tell you he is still deep in his sleep.
you find a clean page and begin drawing shapes until you like how they all sit together. you move to the face proportions, not focusing on shading yet. your hand makes the hair part look effortless, and it may be from the many times you've drawn these curls. moving back to the face, you use your finger to blend the lines better.
finishing the rough draft, your focus goes to the nose, moving to the freckles you have memorized.
'stalker.'
peter's deep voice caused a blush to creep into your cheeks. it wasn't the first time peter caught you drawing him, he has seen the many sketches and paintings you've done of him, but you still shy way when his eyes follow every detail of him you've embedded into your mind.
if only you knew peter feels the same. to know the person he loves more than anything has memorized him, his body and soul, fills him with an indescribable feeling. he does the same with his camera. most of his photos are moments you've shared together that he wants to remember forever.
peter not having storage on his phone from all the candid pictures he has of you is his version of when you learned to draw the lines that form around his eyes when he smiles.
'shut up,' you nudge your leg against his. there's smiles on both of your faces as peter snuggles closer to you.
the room is rather dark by now, only the candle peter had previously lit and another lamp you always have create a cozy atmosphere. the warm glow of the lamp reaches your features enough for peter to see and he takes his time to draw his own painting of you in his mind.
the flickering flame of the candle mixing with the apple pumpkin scent ignite a perfect portrait of peter you ache to fabricate, you take a mental picture for later.
you could be here with peter for all time.
neither of you knew that it was only momentary.
peter climbed through the window, a plastic bag in hand. he pulled his mask off, wet hair falling over his eyes.
the loud thunder from outside shook his apartment. it started raining earlier that day, so peter decided to cut his patrolling short. he hadn't done it in a while.
his body was freezing from the harsh wind that he old suit would have kept him warm from. he walked towards a basket full of his clothes that sat in a corner, that was his dresser for the time being, and grabbed a gray shirt.
when peter picked up the shirt, he caught a glimpse of what once were a bright magenta hello kitty bottoms, is now a dull shade of pink. with a sinking feeling, peter decided to put them on as well.
he made it to his twin size bed where he left the bag and took out the single purchase he made.
a small scented candle. apple pumpkin.
once lit, he set it on the small dining table his studio apartment came with. he stared at it until the soft scent filled his nose. his throat closes when memories of you that are still imprinted in his mind come back. peter feels his left eye twitch as tears threaten to spill, but he refuses to cry.
he can't afford a breakdown. he has no one to turn to anymore. peter doesn't know if he can pick himself back up if he breaks. it was easier with tony because he had may and friends who cared about him. but especially because he had you.
now may is gone, he's a stranger to his friends, and every detail of peter you had memorized has been erased.
peter turns back to his bed and pulls the covers to get in. he continues to stare at the flame emotionless, slowly dissociating from his lonesome.
even after everything, peter can't comprehend how you could go from perfectly drawing the creases on his lips without a reference to not even remembering his name.
do you still have those pieces of him?
do you still draw him even now like it is muscle memory?
is he in your dreams like you are in his?
you will continue to occupy peter's mind until the day being spider-man finally kills him. you were his deepest love, and now his greatest loss.

Southern Girl
Warnings: Fluff, Reader having doubt
Words: 2k
You walk into the doors of Abbott all excited. You’ve been subbing for a year now, mostly at Addington Elementary, the charter school down the street. Now you’re Abbott Elementarys new art teacher. You check in at the office and get your classroom key and badge with the photo from the interview a week ago.
“Alright newbie, you’re here. Follow me to the teacher’s lounge and I’ll introduce you to the ones that I tolerate here.” Ava pipes up from behind you and you follow her there.
You both walk in and 8 sets of eyes fall on you two. 3 from a corner in the back, 3 from a table near the window and 2 from a table near the fridge.
“Newbie this is where you introduce yourself.” Ava tells you as you were shocked with the sudden spotlight on you.
“Oh right, hi y’all my name is Y/n Y/l/n. I’m the new art teacher here.” You introduce yourself, your southern accent visible. Two teachers come bouncing over to you and talking a mile a minute. The things you got were Janine Teagues, second grade teacher as well as Jacob Hill, 8th grade teacher. The rest you didn’t catch at all as it was a lot before 8am.
“Janine dear, why don’t you and Jacob give her some room, she just got here.” One of the women from the table near the fridge says. “Hello dear, I’m Barbara Howard, kindergarten teacher.” She says gently as Janine and Jacob go to sit down. Barb then softly nudges the woman next to her and gets a weird look from the ginger. You have to admit that this nameless ginger is very attractive. “You should introduce yourself.” Barb tells her and she sighs.
“But she’s from the south, for all we know she can be a cowboys fan.” She says to Barb.
“The girl from south is right here and can hear you. And are you talking about the Dallas Cowboys?” You ask and she quirks an eyebrow at you.
“So youse a fan?” She asks and crosses her arms.
“Of the cowboys, no. Never really been a fan until I got here to be honest. It was all the rage when I got here so I looked into it, the Eagles aren’t bad of a team.” You tell her and you see the slightest smile on her face.
“I’m Melissa Schemmenti, 2nd grade teacher.” She introduces herself and you freeze.
“Schemmenti? Why does that name sound familiar?” You say and she sighs.
“Have you been to Addington?” She asks and you nod.
“Quite a bit actually.”
“You might have met my sister Kristen Marie there then.” She says and you widen your eyes.
“Of course, I do know her. Her and I are texting buddies, we text about once a week. I honestly forgot about her last name.” You tell her and she shakes her head. “Wait you’re Melissa, she’s mentioned you a few times.” You add.
“All bad things I’m assuming, knowing my sister.” She says and you shake your head.
“No, not bad at all.” Mostly embarrassing things, but you ain’t mentioning that to her. “Well I’d love to stay and chat with y’all but I gotta skedaddle. Lots to do in just a week.” You tell them and then leave the room. Everyone turns to look at Melissa and while she doesn’t see it, she feels them all staring at her.
“What are all youse looking at?” Melissa says without turning to look at them.
“You gave your name so… willingly.” Janine says confused.
“You heard her, she doesn’t mind the Eagles, she seems alright.” Melissa says with barely a thought to the answer.
At the end of the day you go to turn into the teachers lounge to get your lunchbox, only to run into Melissa, physically run right into her.
“Oh I’m so sorry Melissa, you ok?” You tell her while you have your hands on her arms to stabilise her.
“Ya I’m fine kid, are you alright?” She asks you and you nod. You go to get your lunchbox from the fridge and when you go to leave, she’s still there, waiting for you.
“Should I be flattered that you’re waiting for me?” You joke with her and she chuckles.
“I think so. I mean, I’ve never done it for anyone else before.” She says and you smile.
“Well considered me flattered then.” You tell her and she smiles at you.
“Well let’s, what did you say earlier? Skedaddle?” She teases you and you laugh. You both start to walk to the parking lot.
“Why Melissa, I hope you’re not making fun of the language of the south.” You joke with her and she laughs.
“Wouldn’t dream of it southy.”
“Oh I get a nickname too? You’re too sweet.” You say and she playfully shoves your shoulder with hers.
You reach the parking lot and then you both walk to her car which was right next to yours.
“Well I guess I’ll see you tomorrow?” You ask her, not wanting this moment to end.
“Ya, you will kid.” She tells you with a smile then gets in her car.
2 months go by and it’s safe to say you’re settling in pretty well. You’ve gotten support from your coworkers and your students are loving your classes. There’s one specific coworker that stands out to you and that’s Melissa. You’ve found yourself admiring her a couple weeks now. Ever since you were able to watch her teach, you’ve been wanting to again. At lunch, she offered you a spot at her and Barb’s table, which apparently has never happened before, and you find yourself staring at her when she’s talking. When she comes to drop her kids off at your class, you make yourself more presentable before she gets there, you quickly brush your hair, reapply lip balm, just anything to make yourself look better for her. You got looks from people when she invited you over to her house for the first time and you loved every second of it. You’ve also gotten weird looks from Barb and the trio lately and you have no idea why, until Barb talks to you.
“Hello dear, can I come in?” She asks from your doorway and you look up from your sketchbook.
“Barb, hi. Ya of course.” You tell her and she smiles as she walks in and closes the door. “What’s up?” You ask as you put your pencil down and lean back in your chair to look at her.
“I’ll be blunt with you.” She starts and you tilt your head at her in question. “You have a crush on Melissa right?” She asks and you widen your eyes. “We all see it, you’re not good at hiding it.” She adds.
Well no use in trying to cover it up. “Oh god, does that mean that Melissa knows?”
You ask her and she shakes her head.
“No, Melissa won’t ever think that you’ll like her. The only way she’ll know is if you tell her.” She says and you sigh.
“Well that won’t ever happen?” You say and she tilts her head at you.
“Sweetheart, what reason can you have to not want to tell her?”
“Many reasons. About to start with the fact that she’s straight, she’s my friend, she’ll never be into me, she’s out of my league, and did I mention that she’s straight?” You say and she smiles at you.
“You did mention it. Dear, I have known Melissa a long time, and what I can tell you is that you’ve caught her eye. I’ve seen how she is when someone catches her interest and how she is with friends. She treats you differently then how she treats me and the rest of the Abbott crew, and everyone else she has ever befriended. What I’m saying is, I think if you told her about your feelings for her, you might be surprised of her answer.” Barb says and you look at her stunned.
“I’ll- I’ll think about it.” You tell her.
“I wouldn’t take too long, Gary has his sights on her too.” She tells you and you widen your eyes.
“The vending machine guy?” You ask and she nods.
“Well she might be better off with him.” You say casually.
“Why do you say that? Why wouldn’t she be happy with you?”
“Cause I’m me.” You tell her and then get back to your drawing. Barb walks up to you and puts her hand on your shoulder.
“Yes you’re you, and Melissa likes who you are.” Barb tells you and then leaves.
At the end of the day you finish cleaning up the art supplies, then you grab your stuff and leave and you bump into someone on the way out.
“Oh sorry hon.” Melissa tells you.
“Oh Melissa, hi.” You stutter. “Wha- what are you doing in this corner of the school?” You ask her, considering her classroom is on the other side of the school.
“I came here to see you.”
“Why?”
“I didn’t see you at lunch today, or barely at all today actually.” She says.
“Melissa, are you saying you missed me?” You tell her in a teasing tone.
“I did actually, if you must know.” She says and playfully shoves your shoulder. “Something happened at lunch actually.” She adds and you tilt your head to let her continue. “Gary asked me out.” She says and you stop breathing for a second and widen your eyes.
“Oh.” You say, you stayed in your classroom at lunch today going over what Barb told you before lunch. Now it seems you missed your chance.
“I turned him down.” She says and that snaps you out of your head.
“What? You said no?” You tell her and she nods her head. “Why?”
“Because I don’t want to go out with him. I’d rather go out with someone else.” She tells you and she takes a step towards you. You’re breathing quickens as you look into her emerald green eyes that captures you in them. Your faces are close together, as you’re the same height, it wouldn’t take much to lean forward and kiss her. You gulp as you realise she’s waiting for you to say something.
“And who is it that you’d rather go out with?” You ask and you glance down at her lips before looking into her eyes again.
“You.” Is all she says but it still leaves you breathless. You see her glance down at your lips briefly before looking into your e/c eyes. Without thinking, you lean forward and kiss her fiercely. She kisses you back with just as much force and she grabs the back of your head with both of her hands. You place your hands on her waist and press her up against the wall and you both continue kissing each other as if your lives depended on it.
“Should we stop them? I mean it is still school property.” Janine says as the trio, Barb, Ava and Gary are watching you two make out down the hall.
“I think we should let them enjoy today. Then if we catch them making out again, then we can stop them.” Barb says, glad you both finally took the chance. “And Gary, thanks for asking her out, I knew it would make Melissa finally admit her feelings.” Barb tells him and he nods at her.
“Glad I could help.” He says and they all leave.
You both pull back to catch your breath. Melissa giggles as you look at each other. “Did you kiss all the southern girls that told you they have feelings for you?” She asks with a smile.
“I never liked them back so no.” You tell her and she cups your cheek. You surge forward to capture her lips on yours again, never wanting to pull back.

Could you please, please tell me everything about the 1990's Good Omens (very bad) Movie script? you mentioned not being able to taIk about it because no one is interested (which I very much relate to, but in just basically anything Good Omens related) I was not there for when it was leaked, so I'd really like to know like... all of it (I promise I am so interested, and also very very obsessed with Good Omens. I'll absolutely be your captive audience.)
the only things I think I know are that Crowley's mean and has a nightclub, and Aziraphale has a museum(??). and it's in America??
You don't know how happy it just makes me to ramble on about that one. Could write a whole essay tbh (I try my best not to bc my spelling is atrocious pff ).
Only snagged it myself after a whole year of searching when it got put up on Dropbox for a few hours. Got taken down quickly again. Idk if it was bc of a copyright claim or if the owner took it down themselves bc it isn't supposed to be spread around due to said issues and they (not quite so cleverly) posted the Link on a post that would make it especially easy for the copyright holder to find it. At any rate, I Got really lucky in that regard. The copyright issues around this thing are fascinating in general and could make for a great study in regards to the flaws of that system.
As for the script contents... Well it's something.
Yes Crowley is mean, it would be wrong however to reduce that version of him to that. (I will try and point out why later). Yes he owns a nightclub, the aptly named hellfire on a hill (? Idk enough about british topography to know if that's a hint towards a real part of town or just bc the visual of it is cool ) in London. So It does not play in America and Aziraphale is working at the British museum. Canon explanation why they try everything and anything to not give back the artefacts they stole, I suppose. (That was a joke. In the script itself it isn't even as much as mentioned that our favorite angel has any interest in collecting anything, missed opportunity if you ask me)
In general the whole thing plays out extremely differently from the story we all love. And sadly lacks the Prattchian humor... For obvious reasons. It does have it's moments tho not many but they are there. ( "Crowley un-snakes" will never not be funny)
What follows is a lengthy summary which will have a bit of analysis and personal interpretation mixed into it . Bc who needs good struktur if you can do stream of consciousness? Am I right?
We begin with the protagonist Crowley in company of Aziraphale, who in this version sadly takes a bit of a backseat, playing checkers in Aziraphale's study. In this version they are color coded: with pure white clothing and hair and pure black clothing and hair. Crowley remarks that 'everything is going too well'. To which Aziraphale points out, that complaining seems to be a favorite past time of the demon. in this version he has a knack for putting down/dismissing Crowley on basis of being a demon (" Oh, isn't that just like a demon? Six-thousand years and all you do is complain") and it's part of his ark , kinda. Cohesion and following things through isn't exactly a strong suit here.
It looks like Aziraphale is about to win, however Crowley uses the cliché 'Lock over there' trick to cheat. In the following dialogue we learn that they have been playing one checkers match a week for the past six thousand years. So basically it's presumed they played their first match in Eden before checkers was even invented. (Then again the stage direction describes a painting depicting Crowley as green snake wearing sunglasses in Eden, so they just have been trend setters from the start) . They then set a date for their next match, Crowley makes his distaste for earth known, they meet Aziraphale's assistant Polly, who is very unimpressed by Crowley and then he is off not without causing some mischief with a stolen wallet.
Aziraphale gets a little scene where he is appraising a painting for its authenticity. He gets called 'bramy as a box of fruit bats' and tells the ones that brought the painting that if it were real, he'd know bc he would have seen the master paint it. The interesting thing here is that this scene essentially is there to show us, that despite not acknowledging Crowley's cheating or directly calling out the forgery and its purpose (to gain money), even calling it pretty, he knows what's going on he simply chooses to play/be aloof .
Next we get introduced to the nightclub. Nothing much happens here at first except that we get introduced to the Barstaff. Or well at least Tina (my love) the barman. As it seems Crowley is managing a successful business and outside of a little rant, calling people sheep and wanting bigger cocktail umbrellas, he genuinely seems to be competent in his leadership and friendly to his staff. Even knowing them by name .
Other notable staff members are Warren, I think he has one line and is the handyman/security of the nightclub and Marjorie who gets a few more lines and is part of the waitstaff. Who by the way are put in full body imp costumes bc of course the nightclub is themed after hell.
Crowley then contacts hell, where he ultimately gets told that Satan himself has a special task for him. And we get the first clue that Crowley, who so far has given us very cool very early 90's style Anti"hero' is scared shitless. Not just that, hell thinks he is a bit of a loser, not being impressed by his mission reports and all that.
We then get to the good old Hyde Park scene with a nearly drowned drake safed by Aziraphale's intervention and everything. What is interesting here however is, that Crowley is a full blown nihilist and Aziraphale just very over enthusiastically positive. Aziraphale saying a woman is doing something good by giving her ice cream to a child while Crowley points out that the ice had first been dropped to the ground and been liked by a dog. (Script!Aziraphale as much as I love you but I am with script! Crowley on this one). Aziraphale points out that that hardly matters because the child is happy and that makes it a good deed. Crowley snarkily retorts that happiness is a stupid metric for good things and says he likes one thing about humans : that they are reliable in doing the selfish bad thing.
Aziraphale then tries to get Crowley to reveal why things are going to well. Crowley points out that they are enemies and he shouldn't give out that information despite the arrangement (sadly we don't get more information about that but I would love to know how it looked in that universe) and only is convinced by Aziraphale being hurt about it and giving him sad puppy eyes. Crowley then invites Aziraphale over to his nightclub after hours to talk about what head office actually wants from him.
We then jump to the nightclub again. Crowley is surprisingly decent towards people, Tina is managing the club and all seems rather nice. Madam Tracy is making an entrance. In this version she is an slowly aging out of it IT-girl. It's implied that she had a multitude of affairs and that she has now been payed off big time. (I enjoy Madam Tracy in this version a LOT). She never seems to be quite there but still owns any situation.
Her and Crowley have a little conversation that gets broken up when he decides to deal with a Troublemaker at the bar instead of letting Warren take care of it. (Side note that part of the script gave me the HC that script! Crowley is very short, definitely shorter than script!Aziraphale don't ask me why) . He is having a full blown Anime protagonist moment, including using the bribe the trouble maker gives him to give to the Waitress the Troublemaker had harassed in a very cool™ manner and stopping a punch with one hand. Just believe me it's very anime. But again Crowley seems to be actual decent boss, believe it or not.
He then gets a Call in the bathroom . Satan talking to him through the mirror without prior notice. He orders Crowley to get to a graveyard within 30 minutes. Crowley is keeping it together but he is panicking. He is having a short conversation with Tracy again in which he stays relatively friendly surprisingly enough.
Fun fact this whole film would have had "Every day' as musical theme. Bc from this moment the song gets mentioned continuously.
After speeding and vandalizing a cop car out of desperation since he is late and they determined to stop him, we get to meet satan. In this version he is a cold calculating (but very cool) business man . Crowley, in German we'd say 'legt sich erstmal ordentlich auf's maul' (meaning he trips and falls on the ground). He is groveling before him, bootlicking and trying to appease his Master (for real tho if that movie would have been made there would have been Satan/Crowley shippers bc that shit is some fuel for a toxic ship). At any rate Crowley is making a bit of a fool of himself and Satan is enjoying the Powertrip. In the end he gives Crowley the antichrist with the task to raise the baby or else suffer worse than anyone else in hell. However if he succeedes he is getting to leave the planet (again he supposedly doesn't even like earth in this version)
Anathema is introduced. She is just a little occult girl that felt the antichrist coming to earth. No mentioning of prophecies or anything. Our beloved Agnes does not exist in this universe. Just a little girl with green eyes and a sense for the occult.
Now with a baby he is supposed to take care of, Crowley makes his way back to the nightclub. There he hides the newborn from his employees and gets pulled away to discuss something by Tina. Since he is hiding the baby he puts the newborn down, right into Madam Tracy's money bag. And well, while he is off talking with Tina , Madam Tracy is taking her bag without noticing the child and off she goes. Leaving Crowley with the problem of a lost antichrist and for some reason a slowmo shot of him trying to catch up with a taxi.
He starts drinking. He knows he is done for so what's the point. (The first bottle he grabs is Aardvark Snapps idk why I finde that interesting) . At this point he has accepted that he will end up for an eternity being punished. Hours later Aziraphale makes an appearance and is a little bit judgemental about Crowley being drunk. (Side note: an other hc of mine is that script!Aziraphale is straight edge bc of that scene). Crowley tries to have him join him drinking but fails. And then just tries a to have a little heart to heart. ("I am doomed, Aziraphale") Only getting a little speech about being a demon and therefore inherently being doomed ('duhhh!') back.
Crowley eventually just confides in Aziraphale how much he has fucked up having a bit of a monologue about it. Eventually Aziraphale offers to help find the boy, but only if he is allowed to influence him. To which Crowley reluctantly agrees, because it would mean that he still fails his task of raising a boy that Satan could be proud of. But Aziraphale is a little bit manipulative (also Crowley is still drunk while Aziraphale is sober) so they shake on it. Anyway this exchange is one of my favorites in the script .
We finally jump eleven years into the future and get to meet Adam.
He has been adopted by Madam Tracy. And is now running a bed and breakfast in the quaint little town of Tadfield. Instead of an army base this Tadfield has direct access to the sea. Including it's very own pier. Anyhow I said Adam is running the b&b that's because Madam Tracy is a neglectful parent and as much as I enjoy her script version, she is not doing great here. Adam is running errands, making breakfast for his mom and generally keeping things together. His whole introduction is him being a little adult .
He finally gets some child time and we meet 'the Them' except they are not 'the Them'. Brian, Pepper and Wensleydale are a friend group and they try to talk to Adam because Pepper wants to be friends with him ( I think the intention was to make Pepper and Adam as THING but idk) . But Adam wants nothing to do with them and instead just wants his peace and quite. So he gets insulted for not having a father and sulks off.
Anathema has also arrived at the scene. And has a culture shock bc of the lackluster infrastructure out here. She arrives in Tadfield with some difficulties and now has to somehow find a place to stay. And while the town seemed overrun with places renting out rooms it also has a case of outdated world views and nobody is willing to take Anathema in for some reason or the other. She eventually gets pointed into the direction of Madam Tracy. Where she is informed that she can have a room . And Madam Tracy casually dunks on Picasso which I can support.
Anathema then repeatedly runs into Adam and tries to strike up a conversation but he just doesn't want to and runs off. As both of them eventually go home at the end of the day he accuses her of following him, since they both are taking the same path. As he gets told that Anathema also lives at the same address as him now he gets angry and stroms to Madam Tracy, disrupting a seance to scold her for taking on a lodger without his approval. He is angry that Madam Tracy is so reckless taking in people without proper background check.
Following that, Adam interviews Anathema. And they bond .
At night Adam sneaks off to the pier and we learn that he has build a model of Tadfield in an abandoned arcade.
He and Anathema bond a bit more over breakfast. (And honestly I like that version of them more relationship wise. As much as I love Prattchet, he did have a particular style of writing children that also came through in Gomens . It lends itself great to hypotheticals and punchlines, not so much for interpersonal relationships)
Back to Crowley and Aziraphale. Last time Crowley had been hopeful and appreciative of the angel. Well now he is running out of time and he is getting grumpy and down in the dumps and ready to give up. While Aziraphale is still unrelentingly optimistic. Poly makes an other entrance, Crowley puzzles together an ancient Etruscan pott. All riveting stuff.
Shadwell, or what's left of his character makes a short appearance as 'MAD OLD MAN' shouting and standing on a soap box as set dressing for Crowley to buy a newspaper and... Pay for it . (Honestly I would have not expected HIM to pay for anything)
He gets zapped into hell without notice.
(Side note Miss Ashtoreth is mentioned as secretary of Satan himself.)
Satan wants to check up on his son's progress. Crowley is shitting himself and lies, reassuring Satan that the boy is properly evil and all that . Of course Satan wants to see the boy real soon and tells Crowley to tell the boy that he is ready for when the boy wants to see him. And after taking a look at Adam by rearranging the universe itself to show a likeness in the stars (hell is a very surreal space with an office above the pit and direct view of all of the universe) Crowley gets zapped back to earth. (Also Satan calls Crowley 'Crawler' which is the script version of Crowley's name change, probably)
Crowley Is now properly stressed out.
On the other end of London (probably) Aziraphale's Crowley senses tingle and he just starts running (presumably) towards Crowley. This never gets brought up or explained. And is so bizarre I couldn't skip it.
Back in Tadfield Adam and Pepper get a bit of a bonding moment. Talking about action figures, Pepper giving Adam a lecture about not being sexist , getting fish and chips. The topic of Adams lack of a father gets brought up again and he lies. Telling Pepper he had met his father before and his father is some sort of international business man, that meets with presidents and is very busy. Eventually Pepper asks about Anathema and tries to convince Adam to take her (pepper) to the movies.
Back in London one Angel apparently unable to use public transport arrives at the nightclub. We can assume that he had been running the whole way. He gets pointed towards Crowley by multiple staff members, 'Every day' gets another cameo and he accidentally stumbles into the dressing room for the waiting staff, which is very embarrassing for him but not for the women.
When he reaches Crowley's office, the demon doesn't want to talk. He is panicking and packing to go on the run for the rest of eternity. (Which for him just means a suitcase full of sunglasses) . What follows is the infamous dialogue script!Crowley get his reputation from. (I might make myself very unpopular here but I think that reputation is not quite deserved. Yes he is an asshole but also the harsher exchanges only play out when he is stressed/panicked and usually if he goes too far he will try and paddel back. Still worst of the Crowleys without a doubt just not quite as bad as people like to paint him. Also script!Aziraphale isn't half as naive and helpless as people like to paint him either and in this house we let him have his agency! But also more on that later)
The exchange switches tone once Aziraphale lets his unbreakable optimism fallter and gets sad. To which Crowley immediately reacts bc trying to reassure him that they are in fact friends and that he shouldn't be sorry. Pointing out that he (Crowley) now knows what the boy looks like to counteract Aziraphale's pessimistic statement that they could never have found the boy bc they didn't even know what he looks like. They agree to hit one more town in their search for the boy.
In Tadfield Anathema finally gets to talk about her quest to find the SOMETHING with Madam Tracy. And have her witness a fight between Brian and Adam about Adam's father. (Srly Adam gets constantly bullied bc of that.) Anathema steps between the two to protect Adam. They make a deal to tell each other's secrets. First we get Anathema showing Adam stuff about the antichrist and the weapon she plans on killing him with.
Then we get an intermission with Crowley and Aziraphale discussing how they should choose which town to go to. They decide with a dart throw.
Back with Adam and Anathema. Adam shows Anathema his model of Tadfield. To the question what he plans on doing once that model is done, he tells her, he is going to build the rest of the world and rule over it. He also voices his desire to go somewhere else so he is no longer stuck in Tadfield.
Aziraphale and Crowley arrive in Tadfield during a Thunderstorm and face the same problem as Anathema. No one wants to rent them a room in town. And while with Anathema the whole thing was rooted in sexism, disdain for outsiders (aka read as Americans) and misunderstandings about her occupation, for those two it's the obligatory 'People think they are a gay couple' thing but with a giant side of Homophobia.
Crowley want to give up, Aziraphale want to go on and eventually they end up at Madam Tracy's.
Madam Tracy mistakes them for the gas person, Crowley wants separate rooms, Aziraphale a shared one,(we never get to know which they now took bc the script has both, scenes with a shared room and with a separate rooms. It could also be that Crowley simply stays longer than Aziraphale and therefore the shared room becomes his single room. At any rate it is never specified. And to be honest there are multiple parts of the script where the author very obviously had given up on it , soooo) Crowley praises Aziraphale's skill as homemaker, Madam Tracy tells them, they have to wait for Adam. Adam comes home Crowley recognizes the boy.
Crowley and Aziraphale take a stroll on the beach and come to the agreement that each should spend a day with the boy, despite Crowley trying to avoid having Aziraphale influence the kid. They also witness how Brian's father is getting things set up and ready to tear down the pier.
In the evening they play an other game of checkers. Adam witnessing first hand Crowley's cheating as he gets the both of them to have dinner with the whole house.
At the dinner table they convince Madame Tracey to let them take Adam to London for a day. Adam being obviously overjoyed about the whole thing.
Anathema sees Aziraphale's and Crowley's true nature for a sec. And I am sorry if this part comes across as rather dry, it's also rather dry in the script.
Adam gets taken to London. First Aziraphale get to show him the museum and talk about human creations . (Side note , when I first got my hands on the script I thought I was missing a page bc the dialogue has a really awkward jump in this scene but no ... It's supposed to be like that and either it was the author giving up or it was supposed to be a kid thing. Jumping from one topic to the next with not much logic. We will never know)
Adam then confronts Aziraphale about Crowley's cheating. And here comes the part why I will never see script!Aziraphale as truly naive or helpless. Aziraphale admits to Adam that he had always known Crowley cheated, he just thought it virtuous to not point it out. Bc he played fair and in his mind that was enough to stand above the other and win in a sense and just let him do the cheating. Adam points out how it's stupid, and that was that. Aziraphale is stunned and does what most people with too much money and no idea how to handle kids do, exactly drag him somewhere, where he can buy shit.
Next up is Crowley. First he drags Adam to Soho. Not Good Omens there might be a cozy bookshop somewhere Soho but well 90s it's a bit of a cess pool Soho. With hookers and homeless teenage girls ( and for all those people that take Crowley being displeased with Adam for giving the girl some change as point to call him fundamentally mean/bad... I implore you learn what character motivations are. He has been tasked with raising an evil child, has promised an evil child, obviously he is displeased when that child is doing something selfless. And he wouldn't do something selfless in the presence of said child either bc again he is supposed to influence him towards evil) Crowley then gets him a milkshake and takes him to his club where they have the mirror conversation to Aziraphale's. Ending with Adam pointing out that it is pretty boring to always win for the wins sake by the means of cheating.
On the way back they have a short (also very old couple and married) conversation about their respective experiences with the boy. Accidentally letting it slip that they know who Adam's father is, believing the boy to be asleep. He is not.
That night Anathema finally succeeds in her endeavor of finding the antichrist. Her crystal ball revealing to her that it is indeed Adam. She is so shocked by that, that she lets the ball fall but luckily for her Aziraphale does his thing and it lands safely without breaking. (That another quirk of the script apparently Anathema and Aziraphale were supposed to be something and what ever that is, it's even weirder than Adam and Pepper)
Madam Tracy also finally recognized Crowley from THAT night and they have a honest heart to heart. Or whatever you call it when the otherwise always woozy character suddenly seem lucid and aware of what will happen.
That night Adam goes to Anathema for emotional support bc of the father thing. Anathema however is in the middle of a crisis bc she now knows what Adam is and had tried to get herself ready to murder him but struggles with herself to do it. Eventually Adam notices the knife behind her back and with the first flair of his antichrist powers forces her to show it to him before storming off hurt.
Being emotionally distraught he runs to his hideout on the pier and calls out to his feather. First nothing happens but then after Adam went off the pier and back again it is completely transformed into a bright happy carnival. His Father has arrived. Satan immediately takes Adam under his wings . He even dresses him up as a mini self.
The next morning the whole town of Tadfield is one giant carnival. There is a parade with elephants. And the people from around town are all mindlessly attending the celebration.
Crowley has a short meeting with Satan (on an elephant can't stress that enough) and gets told that he is supposed to come to Satan to talk about his promotion to alpha centauri. AND
( Don't ask me why I find this too funny to not share, my humor is very broken )
The town is being further transformed and more people are made mindless puppets. But now Crowley is happy to have gotten away with his stunt. He is roleplaying flirting with someone in a mirror. (Also in the script notes it literally says James Bond for acting directions for Crowley, and that's such a dorky idea I love the theory of it ... Bit of a waste in this tho).
Aziraphale tries to change his mind but Crowley shuts him down by pointing out that he was the one saying happiness alone is making things a good deed so it shouldn't matter if people have to be made into mindless puppets first. They are happy after all.
Meanwhile Adam is torturing Brian by throwing tomatoes hat him and having the rest of the town join in with the fun. He just wants his father to be proud of him (nawww ) (that naw was sarcastic). In the crowd Anathema is fighting to regain control over herself.
Aziraphale still tries to convince Crowley. Tugging at his heart strings but even the tried and true "I thought we are friends" won't work this time. Crowley wants to seize his opportunity, he wants out and up.
While those two are arguing, Anathema struggles. All she wants it the knife but she is exhausted.
Crowley is looking for a starting point for his launch towards alpha centauri. He is climbing onto a church tower. Behind him Aziraphale still hasn't given up. Despite not liking heights (!? Wasn't mentioned before will not be mentioned again but apparently script!Aziraphale has a fear of heights). He finally gets an idea and challenges Crowley to one last match.
Crowley for once doesn't cheat and it looks like he is about to win but then Aziraphale DOES cheat, desperate to keep Crowley on earth and have him fight at his side. And Crowley just shrugs and accepts. His next line after acknowledging the win already calls Satan his ex-boss and if that is not a very impressive 180° turn then I don't know what is. (Just a throw back to character motivation, we could speculate it's because most of what Crowley has said were lies and half truths and deep down he actually likes earth and bla or he just remembered how much he would miss his nightclub BUT I as number one script!Crowley (not really) defender say ... It's just unfinished/bad writing and there simply wasn't enough time or inspiration or whatever to finish his character ark)
Anathema manages to give both of them the knife. Crowley is so idiotic and tries to grab it but it burns him . I mean, duhh! Anathema literally tells them that this knife can hurt the antichrist why should it be harmless for a way lesser demon? So Aziraphale takes the knife.
After calling Crowley his best friend, Crowley himself calling himself stupid, Aziraphale, presumably (presumably is important here) with the knife, goes off to confront Adam. He tried to talk Adam out of it. Trying to point out that no good father leaves his kid alone for eleven years and if this is really what Adam wants. As he points out that Madam Tracy despite all her flaws still love Adam he gets discorporated, by Adam. But bc this is a Movie script and we don't have much time left he just stays in his true angel form (which is very much just white robes , wings and halo ) right where he is, further trying to talk Adam out of it .
(here is an other line in my mounting pile of evidence that script! Aziraphale is neither naive nor helpless and simply chooses to carry himself that way bc he thinks it's virtuous. He literally acknowledges that people can do bad things. Something he would not do at any point before that in the script. I rest my case )
While Aziraphale is trying to make Adam think about things, Crowley is off confronting Satan, presumably without the knife.
Satan acknowledges that Crowley had lied to him but is still in such a good mood that he still wants to give out the promotion. Even throws in the titel of fiend extraordinar. For a moment it seems like Crowley considers but ultimately he tells Satan that he wants to quit. Satan is not happy about that and after Crowley also pulls out a pink rubber glove and the knife (yhea Crowley had the knife all along , take that continuity or rather scree logic, like not showing how they get a rubber glove is fine, what ever but having the last scene with the knife be the one where it's shown that he can't touch it and Aziraphale had to carry it would have made it feel a bit too deus ex machina.) Satan forces him into half snake form and summens hands that try and drag him back to hell.
Thanks to his already established Crowley senses (probably ) Aziraphale suddenly shows up and charges at Satan. Who in turn is like 'An angel, really? You betrayed me,..' and then roasts Aziraphale to a crisp before destroying the knife .
Adam confronted with a robotic acting madam Tracy, listening to his every command, starts to reflect on his actions. Getting called in by his father to greed the four horsepersons he notices Aziraphale and Crowley.
Adam now faced with all the destruction says: no, I am not doing it. Stan tries to threaten him into obeying but he gets the good old 'You not my dad'. For being a deadbeat for 11 years. Adam then heals Aziraphale and frees Crowley. Now flanked by the two Adam banishes the horseman.
Satan demanding obedience once more, gets reminded by Crowley that he himself once rebelled. And after laughing about that revelation he tells Adam that it was interesting meeting him but as it seemed he wasn't cut out to be a dad. To Crowley he says that he is now banned from hell and to Aziraphale that he should tell his boss, that at least his son (the antichrist) had more guts than his(Jesus and yes the script sadly uses he/him for God).
After Satan vanishes they have to escape a collapsing pier. Noticing too late that Madam Tracy is also still there. Adam ends up releasing her from her trance by calling her mom and telling her that he loves her. Aziraphale ends up saving both of them, flying them to safety on the beach.
At the beach they also meet Anathema, who promises not to kill him, and Pepper . They watch as the pier explodes and burns to the ground. Anathema also has uncomfortable eye contact with Aziraphale while he ripples back into human form . (Don't ask me why it feels uncomfortable, Anathema is described as looking tens while he still full angel and softening once he is human again, so idk)
Apropos Anathema and Aziraphale. The next Morning, he comes to say goodbye and ends up offering a job bc (I forgot to mention it when it happened) Polly, his assistant had a promotion. So he is in search for a new assistant. She end up kissing him on the cheek and calling him angel but in a way where it's ambiguous if she now knows that he is one or if she just thinks he is a good person and something always makes her forget what he really is. At any rate Aziraphale says he had never gotten a kiss on the cheek in six thousand years and knowing a bit about history and cultural practices I am inclined to calling him a liar. But then again this is fiction .... So sure ... Cheek kiss virgin this one.
While that is happening Madam Tracy is asking Crowley if she can keep the boy now . And Crowley reassures her, that after this, no one is going to come for him. He even offers to throw a birthday party for her at his club, all she should do is to just to look after the boy. It's actually a very sweet exchange.
Outside Brian and Adam have a little exchange, Brain trying once more to get to Adam with the father thing. But Adam has no daddy issues anymore. Instead he asks Pepper out to the movies and Brian just tags along without being asked. Where is Wensleydale you asking ? Take your best guess, he was mentioned once said one thing and then fell off the earth. He probably exploded with the pier and nobody even remembers.
With the kids now finally as a group we have the last shot of Aziraphale and Crowley. They are walking along the street , Crowley one stolen apple in hand . Having their talk about good and evil. Accusing each other of being a little bit of a good person (press x to boubt) and just enough of a bastard (oh absolutely). How they both knew the other was cheating all along. And maybe alpha centauri isn't such a good idea after all. You can't even get booze there. The last thing that is said is Aziraphale telling Crowley to 'not start THAT again', after being offered the apple.
I lied one more screenshot bc Every ...it had been for told by the cursed script for ages now. (I am pretty sure it had been in the talks to put go to Every day' even before the script was ordered so that is just a joke)
At any rate I do have to go to work in ....eh three hours ... So I will leave it at the summary for now. I am dyslexic and English mu second language so I am very sorry for all the mistakes I probably made . If someone reblogs this before I get the chance to correct them, let it be said that at least nobody can claim this is ai pfff.
Also not I said the name of the author the two times I mentioned him simply bc I don't feel like acknowledging the name of the person. I got into Gomens bc of Sir Terry and I stay here for him. This little obsession with the shit script happened by pure chance and purely against my will pfff

AITA for ‘forcing’ my dad to drive me home while I had COVID, and then cutting contact?
Sorry if this isn’t allowed, but it’s been weighing on me for the past year and a half so I want to get an outside opinion because I’m still afraid it’s my fault. Basically, my (22F) parents are split; it was bad and they both hate each other, call the other abusive, etc. I live with my mom, but we used to alternate holidays, and my dad had Christmas 2021. I don't get on with him; we're very different, he's very judgemental, he doesn't like that I'm very close with Mom, and we've fallen out in the past (I still regret coming out to him). I didn't want to go, TBH, but I did because my siblings wanted me there.
Christmas went fine but I was running out of energy to deal with him afterwards and that's where it started. He'd agreed to take me and my youngest brother home (2.5 hr drive) on the 28th, and we made plans around that, but two days before he announced that he wouldn't unless Mom agreed to meet him halfway; that's normal, but since he'd already agreed to drive the whole way, she had gone away and was flying home that day. He refused to take us home until she was free. We had an argument over this, and I decided I'd just get the train if he didn't want to drive me.
That day, however, my stepsister got COVID, and we all tried to isolate from her, but me and my youngest brother tested positive on the 28th. I'll be honest, at that point, I think I was selfish. My plans were already cancelled, but I was at my wits' end with Dad and I couldn't handle another week of isolation with him. My room at his house was also just one end of the kitchen, which everyone else has to use, whereas at home I have my own bedroom with a bathroom right next door, so I could isolate much more easily and safely at home. Our rules at the time were if you were visiting somewhere, you were allowed to travel home to isolate so long as you didn't use public transport; Mom still wanted us home.
We got into a fight about this; Dad said I had to stay there. I snapped at him it wasn't my home, and he'd get COVID from me anyway there. He put his foot down and said he wasn't taking me, and I thought that was the end of it. Until two hours later, when he told me to get in the car, and said he'd drive me and my brother home; I genuinely think that he was expecting me to back down then, but I didn't.
Twice on the journey he berated me for being selfish; I told him I didn't force him. After he dropped me off, he sent me three text messages of the same, including saying I was as bad as my Mom and ordering me to tell her she was a bad person. I blocked his number, so he sent me an email warning me to "be careful who I ally myself with" and threatening me not to side with Mom. At that point, I cut all contact and blocked his email.
As far as I know, he never got COVID. He's emailed me a few times since (blocking him just sends them straight to my bin, I still see them); he's asked me to meet up with him a few times, and keeps getting my brother to ask when I’m going to talk to him again. I’ve never had an apology or even a real acknowledgment of what happened, except an “I know you’re still angry” at one point, and he still sends me presents and stuff even though I’ve told my brother I don’t want anything.
IDK, I still just feel really bad about the whole thing. So, AITA?
What are these acronyms?

im sorry for this rant KO, but why on earth is the bonus content for nightfall is the start of the horsemen? Like omfg. I really dont need it to exist because i like the mystery of them. Why can't we just have a willemmy bonus 😭 i'm so fucking upset. I initially wanted to pre-order the paperback but thinking about that whole alex drama in BC, i didn't, thank the lord for that! But i was still hoping for a willemmy bonus or maybe a will or emmy's back story, but we're getting to see Damon, A-FUCKING-GAIN? How many fucking bonus do we have to see him??! Fuck, i'm so upset, idk who to rant this with because i don't talk about this series to anybody irl.
Excerpt from PD's insta:
DAMON GRABS HIS JACKET OFF THE COURT AND PULLS IT ON AS HE LEAVES.
"YOU OKAY?" MICHAEL ASKS KAI.
BUT KAI JUST GESTURES TO DAMON WHO PUSHES THROUGH THE HEAVY DOUBLE DOORS. "I TOLD YOU, MAN," HE BLURTS OUT TO MICHAEL. "HE'S TROUBLE."
"NO," MICHAEL QUICKLY RETORTS, LOOKING IN THE DIRECTION DAMON LEFT. "HE'S AN ENFORCER, KAI."
HIS FRIEND STARES AT HIM.
"AND EVERY TEAM NEEDS ONE," MICHAEL ADDS, DROPPING THE BASKETBALL INTO KAI'S HANDS. "TELL THE COACH I'LL BE RIGHT BACK."
end-
🥲 ngl, i'm so sick of damon's appearance, at this point not only his character wasn't my fav, pd over-pushing him makes me really hate him now. "He's the enforcer" ughhhh, and when did this branding ever came up in the devil's night series? I only remember this point being discussed here on your blog of your meta about damon's character and his implicit role in their friend group and family. Istg i really never saw his role being discussed and branded like this anywhere, so the only place it could happen was in the private chat's of their pendragon fb group or between PD and their editor/most trusted beta readers. Istg the pettier side of me feels like some of PD's fb group fans saw your discussion posts here with other anons and told on PD, then they got inspired by you ideas about "his role" in the family. Which in theory, i don't see much wrong from it, but truly, where did this role establishment and branding came from? And ofc in PD's fashion, they had to rebrand Damon's role to be positive and borderline inspiring 🙄
and fuck, who cares about logic right? Definitely not PD when they kept on writing A and meaning B in their stories, but kept on being pissed off when readers understood it as A. 🤡
at this point, i'm not even excited anymore for this bonus content. I genuinely thought something good will come out of it, but with their opinion of willemmy a few weeks ago, and now with this. Idk. But I just know and fully sure now that PD just wanted to avoid the alex-aydin-will-emmy qna discussion extra materials, because they knew they fucked that one up, and many readers hated it, and so they probably want to just bury that shit and move past it. So of course, we'll never gonna get a willemmy bonus content. Ugh. I can't fault them for wanting to move on, but for someone who wnats to move on so bad and ignore the uncomfy parts of their own mistake in writing, they sure as hell is still be talking and hinting at this series from time to time especially for their most fav characters 🙄
but fr KO, it really left a sour taste in my mouth when an author behaves like this. Penelope Douglas is just so, ugh, idk. At this point ideky i'm still hoping for them to be better tbh when they've always been known to be problematic, like they're always just so disappointing. I need to detach my feelings for books i like to read with their authors, because i'm just gonna end up upset like this. But it's so hard!!! Especially when they're indies and you like some parts of the things they put out, and can't always find it anywhere else. Ughhh. i heard that series by Monty Jay was giving DN, so i might check it out, and i really hope it's better.
+ when you get a reach of the bonus materials, will you be sharing them here and share your thoughts and opinions about them? I'm a big yapper and i just wanna yap with somebody about it frfr.
Hey. Oh man, I feel your pain.
I really dont need it to exist because i like the mystery of them. Why can't we just have a willemmy bonus
Ohh, I wish I was with you on this but I’m actually excited about it. As someone who wants to understand these characters better, and who absolutely goes bonkers over character origin stories, this is right up my alley. I never expected any kind of Willemmy scene, so maybe I’m not as disappointed as I would be otherwise.
From what I heard, there are some willemmy scenes in this origin story though! So not all hope is lost (although I don’t know how it’s supposed to make sense, since I’ve also heard that this starts during their freshmen year and Emmy’s a year younger so… but whatever. I’m just happy for the moments!)
I am so sorry that this isn’t what you wanted!
Istg the pettier side of me feels like some of PD's fb group fans saw your discussion posts here with other anons and told on PD, then they got inspired by you ideas about "his role" in the family. Which in theory, i don't see much wrong from it, but truly, where did this role establishment and branding came from?
As much as this idea tickles me, the fact is that this was probably written months ago, and I only really had that discussion with in the past few weeks. More than likely, we were just picking up on something PD was implying the entire time.
But I just know and fully sure now that PD just wanted to avoid the alex-aydin-will-emmy qna discussion extra materials, because they knew they fucked that one up, and many readers hated it, and so they probably want to just bury that shit and move past it.
I’m still holding out of that pinterest board and discussion questions (though, it may be a lost cause). It just seems so stupid that they’d withhold those two things since they’re so minor compared to the bonus scene.
they sure as hell is still be talking and hinting at this series from time to time especially for their most fav characters
Coming from a writer’s perspective, it’s hard to let your favs go. Long after the other characters stop “speaking” to you, your favs come back. You still see them doing stuff. And PD is proud of the series, so of course they’re not going to bury it.
But yes, I agree that the fandom has been pretty loud about wanting some more willemmy content for some closure, and it shouldn’t be this hard to sit and think about the characters and deliver something, just to be kind to your readers and fans. I can’t say why PD is so resistant to it, but that’s for them to know.
i heard that series by Monty Jay was giving DN, so i might check it out, and i really hope it's better.
I had to look it up, and I’m assuming you’re speaking about the hollow boys? I haven’t read it, but if you do get around to it, I hope you enjoy it.
Regarding PD, I hardly ever look into the background of an author or give them a second thought. I also have never had the desire to contact an author, or do meet and greets or anything, that’s just me. So, I’ve never had the issue of needing to detach a work from an author, but I can see the struggle.
+ when you get a reach of the bonus materials, will you be sharing them here and share your thoughts and opinions about them? I'm a big yapper and i just wanna yap with somebody about it frfr.
I absolutely will share my thoughts, of course! I might do a reading react, or just a summary of my thoughts, whatever feels right. Again, I feel for your frustration and disappointment. The let down is never easy, but you'll read better books in the future. This isn't the last of it for you. So look forward to finding your next favorite read.

Wandee Goodday Ep 7 Live Blogging
Whoop whoop 2nd week in a row that I'm managing to watch the show right after it airs. Although I did consider not watching it for 1-2 days so that I can finish my binge watch of Unknown (I'm so excited to see petty Yuan in ep 8 heh) but thought I should just watch this one before I find out everything that happens through tumblr and twitter posts.
I'm in sort of an angsty mood, esp after the last few Unknown eps that I've watched, so I'm expecting some angst here too. Eps 5-6 of Wandee have been happy and fun while they ignore their feelings and problems, so I need some of that to burst and cause issues.
Ep 7 (June 15)
7-1
showing a little support for psychiatry, though idk how helpful it is to make somebody go when they don't really wanna go
Does Yak want a mouth kiss if he wins?
Yak finds a photo of Ter and Dee in a book and it casts doubt in his mind ig
ohhh Dee was planning on throwing it out but in the end kept it and he had even written "love Dr. Ter the most" on the back
pls Kao's frustration as the audience stand-in
"...might lead to losing them"
Did Ter hear the part that gives away that they're not real bfs
well, he knows they're not dating fr anyway but still the audacity to confront Yak like this
Ter using his knowledge about Dee gained for the past 8 years against Yak, agh. like you knew him all this time and must have known he liked you and yet now that he's finally moving on, you can somehow take action? piss off
both Unknown and Wandee have boxing
what is up with these grown ass adults not being able to live without seeing each other for a few days T.T you shouldn't even be thinking of not going to Japan bc you won't see Yak for a couple days
Why is Dee basically he sniffing Yak's armpit in the gym showers
7-2
Yei just watching Yak sneak out lmfao
fuck I think Ter's gonna somehow be here? I didn't watch the preview but I saw a screencap of Ter and Dee while Dee was in the tiger outfit or whatever, though I think somebody mentioned it was at Ter's place
speak of the devil...
oh, Yak's got a keycard to Dee's place, did we know that?
why is Dee at Ter's bruh
let's fucking kill Ter, I actually cannot anymore
I do think it's funny how neither of them are commenting on Dee's literal tiger sex roleplay costume lmao he's even got a headband!
Dee needs to snap out of it, get up, and leeeeeaaaave
now Kao is here too?
the costume isn't for you to appreciate, Ter stoppppp >:((((
why the fuckkkk did Ter start leaning in, I actually need this man dead and gone, get off my damn screen
and then spilling wine on himself and wanting Dee to help cleanup and now he's practically naked in his fucking boxers, I wish I could be normal about just disliking Ter but I am immature about my hatred for him the same way he's immature about his ways trying to get Dee
TER IS OPENING THE DOOR IN HIS BOXERS?!?!? AND DEE'S ALSO IN HIS TIGER COSTUME IM GONNA LOSE MY SHIT AGHHH
[Linguistics] oh damn Yak uses meung with Ter in anger
aw man T.T I get Yak, why did Dee say Yak always uses violence? I don't recall Yak being violent before this???
Yak breaking up, returning the keycard, taking the necklace back, ouchhhhhhhhh
Yak leaning on Taem
Aw man, Dee being sad at the necklace being gone
I think I would like it if for the rest of the ep + some of next ep, they're separate about doing their own stuff and missing each other and spending time with Ter & Taem only to realize they don't feel the same as they used to and when they come together again (hopefully sometimes next ep, I don't want it to be solved this ep tbh), it's with real feelings and confession. I think I also want Dee to confess/start the conversation since he's the one who fucked up (I know I ragged on Ter but how did Dee even let it go through all those steps omg)
fuck I saw 1 second of the preview and aghhhh I hate Ter, who could've guessed. I have some stuff to do so I'll be back for the next 2 parts later, though they're quite short compared to the first two parts.
7-3
back to watching but I'm having lunch so I probably won't type much
T.T
Ter realized his feelings alright. i don't know that i believe you lol, though maybe it's true since Ter's drunk while he's saying it
okay Ter accidentally fell, I thought he was gonna attack Dee from the 0.2 sec preview
dang, Yak's the one who leaned back and didn't kiss Taem. It seems like Taem wouldn't have been opposed to it?? Did she fall for him some time in the past few eps
7-4
oops was checking at the bottom timing bar how many minutes the show actually is before previews start (9mins) but got spoiled for the last scene of the ep
Damn, Yak's imagination of Dee and TEr really has him facing a humiliating defeat against Luke's character
I get P'Yei like despite everything going on in Yak's life, this is still his job and him winning was necessary for himself, the gym, money, etc. or at least put up a fair fight, not whatever that was bc of a fight with his fwb-fake bf that he has real feelings for
Aw, Wandee came back immediately and found Yak at his favourite place or whatever
Yak crying nooo
why am I suddenly paranoid that this is also Yak's imagination lmao
ah, indeed Yak had asked for Dee's first kiss
and Dee kisses him even though he lost
the kisses are mid but it's fine
damn, a hospital ball next ep? and how is Ter even in the show still wtf
I wanted angst and sadness and I got that but the way we got there was fairly contrived. Ter's sliminess I understand but Dee going through so many steps without just... leaving is like ?? I get that he may still have feelings for Ter that makes him not think straight or whatever but c'mon... am I supposed to believe Dee would actually go to Ter's place and have dinner there in his fucking sex roleplay clothes that he put on to have a candlelit dinner with Yak? and the violence comment was like... no? Yak's pathetic fight was also like... why.
The first kiss was also not impactful because we've established for 7 episodes that it's something very monumental to Dee + it's something that he wants to do with only somebody he really likes, so to have it 1) be a "consolation prize" and 2) come before they discuss their feelings or anything is resolved feels incomplete. It's not a grand or romantic moment the way their first kiss should have been. I don't wanna go back to goofy dance show or whatever next ep...
idk, this ep was a bit of disappointment in terms of storytelling and the way we're exploring emotions, I hope they can turn it around. They have 5 more episodes and so theoretically they have time to do stuff well but also... they have time to drag everything out lol
The necklace though T.T

State that you came from my pinned post.
Oh and congrats if you came here from the haiku I posted. If not, welcome anyway.

30 November, 2024
Whoever is reading this, I'm ok (like hell I am), but I'm not gonna be publicly active for a while, only here in this tiny space I've created for myself, other servers, and occasionally, youtube uploads. I do want to say, that was fucking stupid of me, I'm truly sorry, but I'm too much of a coward to say it to everyone's face. I ruin every friendship I'm in, irl and online. I should shut up sometimes.
---
Hey, this is after writing that haiku and dropping all those hints and changes, god damn I want to talk to those two, but I'm just making it more difficult, aren't I? Fucking hell. Well, I'll just see if they could solve it.
Also, crazy thought, is this what it feels like to have a sibling? Or is this how some friendships go? Does a friendship have a phase where you don't talk to each other for extended periods of time?
---
I wonder if there is a character limit to posts.
...I'm trying to distract myself. I miss them so much. I... I'm looking at the 2ECONDS TO STARLIVHT app on my phone, what could have been if I... shut up.
I want to cry
No, stop it, you're a boy. Boys don't cry.

1 December, 2024
I'm tired. It's nighttime, I'm studying for tomorrow's finals, and I'm tired. Still kinda feel like shit tbh.
Just a nap...? No... there is no time...
Time... when...? When will I... fucking coward.
_ _ _ _ _
2 December 2024
I'll try to come back next week, after finals. Might still be busy with one (hopefully it stays at one) remedial and a project I took on for the school's Chinese New Year's event.
What happens when I come back...? Does she hate me? Should I come back? What if I say the wrong things again...?
---
Would this kill me?

3 December 2024
I feel kind of lonely... but it does help with studying. Today (and right now) I actually got myself to start writing down notes, so far I'm three pages in, and it only took me like 30 minutes.

4 December 2024
I... got 90 for PKn and 98 on Geography...
I don't know how to feel, to be honest.
To be so close to perfection, yet...
Only one mistake in the multiple choices for Geography.
Also discovered that I got a 45 on Math. I'm slow, I know. Only got a few questions done before the time ran out ._.
Hopefully that'll be my only remedial. Tomorrow I have Chemistry and English, along with Scouts for whatever reason. They just announced that suddenly smh
_ _ _ _ _
5 December 2024
All of 10th grade worked together on scouts exam (clearly not allowed), pretty sure everyone failed anyway. Scouts is a bitch.
So uh, the PKN/Geography teacher decided to deduct like, 8 points from our grades ._.
Yeah I got roped into it as well... He did say that there might be other point additions/deductions. We'll see tomorrow.
Now, the only reason I'm talking about this is because I think we weren't completely in the wrong. You see, they suddenly announced the scouts exam, and not a single bit of materials were given out. We didn't know anything. They didn't teach us anything, either. It's like they were just setting all of 10th (and maybe 11th) grade up for failure.
Oh btw that point deduction made the passing rate (for PKN) drop from ~96% to only about 30%.

6 December 2024
Last exam done. Update on PKN and Geography: The point deduction thing was a joke and we didn't actually do that well, the teacher put a random big number to troll everyone on the first two days (I still BARELY passed PKN with a 71, Geography score should be out soon).
---
I got a 90 on Geography :3
Highest score in 10th grade (tied with someone smh).

Hello!
About the writing prompts, maybe you could write the bitter soulmates (in the 1st masterlist), ennemi to lovers (part 3- tbh those two prompts could go together) or the height difference (in the part 2); that one would be quite funny; idk if there is one you like amongst these
I love your work 💜💜💜
Hey :) First off, thank you so much for the saying that and I'm really glad you enjoy my work! (Seriously, like thank you so much for saying that!!!)
Second, those first two prompts were looking despicably angsty in my notes, so I'm really hoping I can get back to them soon. I did however manage to write a little something using the third prompt. I'll admit, I typed it on my phone and proofed it on my laptop when I had free time today, but I already posted it on AO3 and please let me know if you want me to gift it to your there profile because I will do so happily!
Hope you enjoy! 💜💜💜

5 Times Height Mattered (And The One Time It Didn't)
Available on AO3
Word Count: 4,700
Summary: The one where despite Leonora's claims to the contrary, Clarissa is a woman of average height.
~~~
(1)
It’s not that Clarissa is vertically challenged. In fact, she stands a nice average 5’4. 5’6 in her favorite pair of heels.
So why is Lady Lesso hellbent on making her feel short?
From nearly the moment they met, the woman was highlighting the differences in their height with a haughty smirk.
In fact, during their very first conversation, Leonora had asked her a question so rude, so childish, that Clarissa immediately began to doubt her sanity.
The summer heat was waning, yet the sun was high in the sky. Clarissa stood in the garden wearing a golden dress. Why this is important you may ask?
Because it was here that she met Lady Lesso for the first time. Tall with red hair that glowed fiercely in the sunlight, beautiful with a confidence in her posture that would be nearly impossible to replicate. Clarissa had shaken away her nerves, introducing herself to the woman with a pleasant smile. Lady Lesso had stared for a second before doing the same. For a fleeting second Clarissa could have sworn that the woman smiled back, a natural genuine smile, not a smirk or a haughty grin.
It’s gone as fast as Clarissa can blink. No doubt a trick of the light, because within the next few seconds, Leonora crushes any errant positive thought Clarissa might have made the mistake of drawing up about the woman.
Lady Lesso had looked her over curiously, pursing her lips and tilting her head before saying something that made Clarissa’s jaw drop.
“Do you think that if I planted you in the garden with the rest of the sunflowers, you would grow to be a respectable height?” Really?! A respectable height? She knew that they were adversaries, of course, Ever’s versus Never’s blah blah blah, but that was entirely uncalled for. It was demeaning even!
And Lady Lesso had asked with such a serious expression to boot. I mean, what was Clarissa even supposed to say to that?! Something equally rude, of course.
“Just because you have the height of an ogre doesn’t mean you should have the manners of one.” She had responded, and Lady Lesso had looked mildly impressed.
“Hmm. Catty.”
Clarissa had fumed about it for the rest of the week. All she had wanted to do was enjoy a lovely afternoon in the garden, and instead, she was insulted!
There began their unending disagreement. Lady Lesso would remind her of their height difference at every opportunity. About how tall she was and how short Clarissa was, and each time Clarissa would deny it. Mainly because she is not even short!
They have an unfortunate run in the library one afternoon as well.
The library isn’t exactly full that day, but all the ladders are either occupied or out of service. This is a problem because she really wants to check out a new book. Unfortunately, the book she wants is about one shelf too high. Clarissa finds herself on pointed toes leaning heavily against a bookshelf, and yet, somehow, it’s just out of arms reach.
Clarissa jumps but only manages to touch the spine of the book and push it further away. She groans, leaning her forehead against the shelf. This is—
“Do you need assistance?” Clarissa almost gives herself whiplash when she turns to face the voice. There, Lady Lesso stands, green eyes staring at her in amusement.
“No. I got it.” She says shaking her head. The book is right there; she can definitely reach it. And now that she knows Lady Lesso is watching, she has no choice but to do so.
Five seconds later, she realizes the situation is now both futile and embarrassing. Especially seeing as the book is further out of reach than before.
“Are you sure?” Lady Lesso asks with an impolite snicker.
“Yes. I’m sure.” She responds through gritted teeth. She’s just started considering climbing the bookshelf to reach when Lady Lesso snorts, stepping closer. The redheads hand falls on Clarissa's hip almost casually as Lady Lesso’s other hand touches the book.
This sudden proximity means that Clarissa not only has to tilt her chin all the way up to look Lady Lesso in the eye, but she can also smell her perfume. Pine and pecan with a hint of honey. A winning combination, given the sudden insistent beating in her chest.
Lady Lesso takes the book off the shelf so easily that all Clarissa can do is frown, yet the woman grins at her all the while. Once the book is securely in Lady Lesso’s hand, she holds it as if waiting for something, all while looking at Clarissa expectantly.
Clarissa just purses her lips silently. She doesn’t reach for the book, already knowing that the woman would just as soon hold it over her head as she would hand it over.
“Do you want me to give it to you?” Lady Lesso asks, waving the book around like some sort of prize. “Maybe if you ask politely—“
“Oh, I just realized. That’s not the book I want.” Clarissa says, lying through her teeth. She really does want the book Lady Lesso is holding, but not enough to bow to her terms. Especially not when she can come back by for it later.
“This book?” Leonora asks, raising an eyebrow. “The one you spent an eon reaching for? All of a sudden, you don’t want it?”
“That’s right. I want—“ Clarissa blindly grabs a random book from the nearby shelf. “This one.”
“…1001 Deadly Poisons and the Best Dishes to Hide Them In. Really?” Lady Lesso looks at her disbelievingly, half-amused, and Clarissa decides to nod her head.
“I need some new recipes.” She says, shrugging. Hopefully, Lady Lesso will put the book back, and Clarissa can go get the now-available ladder.
The woman stares at her long and hard before smirking. “Okay, well, I guess I’ll take this one.”
Take this one? Surely she isn’t talking about Clarissa’s book. No. Perish the thought. “What do you mean?”
“I came here to find that.” She says, pointing to the book in Clarissa’s hand. “But if you’re checking it out, I guess I’ll have to make do with—“ Lady Lesso looks at the title with a faint grimace.
“1001 Tea Recipes and their Best Dessert Pairings,” Clarissa says before shutting her mouth firmly.
“Yes. It seems… nauseatingly delightful. Informative.” Clarissa glances between the two books hesitantly.
“Perhaps we can trade.” She doesn’t need a book on poisons, and she doubts Lady Lesso has any use for a book on tea.
“Perhaps not,” Lady Lesso snorts. “I can reach that book at any time, Professor Dovey. I don’t think you’ll ever be able to reach this one, seeing as you already hit your growth cap.” The woman gives her a falsely sympathetic look.
Clarissa’s eye twitches. Thrice.
Her irritation is no doubt palpable, but Lady Lesso pays it no heed.
“Why don’t you say ‘Lady Lesso, thank you for grabbing that book off of the tall shelf for me. I’m so short I couldn’t reach it and too prideful to ask for help,’ and I’ll give it to you.” Clarissa… will not be doing that. Instead, she walks away, now determined to check out the book on poisons. If Clarissa can’t get what she wants, then Lady Lesso surely can’t either.
“Or better yet, just admit that you’re short.” Lady Lesso says, trailing behind her. “I think that’s an acceptable compromise.” It is not an acceptable compromise. Not in the least.
“I’m not short.” She insists, pausing just long enough to give her a stern look. The fact that she has to look up does nothelp her point.
“You’re saying that like you really believe it. Adorable.” Lady Lesso gives her a cheshire grin, and she can feel embarrassment flooding her face. Clarissa sputters, at a loss for words.
Adorable?! She’s a woman grown! Not a bunny rabbit or a puppy. She’s older than Lady Lesso for Storian's sake. The woman should be showing her respect. She makes sure to express this point with a severe frown.
Clarissa ends up leaving the library with a new book. Granted, it's not the one she wanted, but she learns to appreciate its teachings.
For the next few months, Clarissa spouts relevant information about poison pairings when Lady Lesso is eating within earshot. She also refuses to return the book to the library out of spite.
Clarissa renews her rental as often as necessary and keeps the book locked tight in her desk drawer. She’s read it cover to cover, after all, but it’s not going back to the library until she can get her hands on the tea recipe book.
Unfortunately, Lady Lesso is of the same mind. And neither book is properly returned to the shelf for a very long time. A very long time.
(3)
Throughout the years, Clarissa and Leonora argue over many things. For some inexplicable reason, height becomes a returning point of interest. This can really only be blamed on Lady Lesso's nature of an arachist.
Fortunately, Clarissa learns. When she has a problem reaching something (and that happens very rarely), she uses a summoning spell instead of allowing Lady Lesso to hold said thing over her head. It doesn’t always work, though. It’s only natural that some items resist the call.
Like the golden apple hanging off of a limb on the tree in front of her, she wants to make a turnover or two, and a golden apple is always a special treat. Clarissa can’t quite reach it though, and climbing is out of the question. She can’t even use earth magic as it might disturb the tree's roots.
Clarissa reaches for it, really reaches, but the attempt is futile. Biting her lip, she wonders if she should summon a step stool to give her some much-needed height.
Who else but Lady Lesso would show up to witness her distress? The woman doesn’t quite sneak up on her. She hears the approaching footsteps, after all. But she had hoped that if she ignored the woman long enough, she would return from whence she came. It does not work out the way she hoped.
“Professor Dovey, you seem to be struggling.” Lady Lesso observes much to her chagrin. She is struggling. That much is obvious. The audience doesn’t help at all (it never does, actually).
“Can I help you?” Clarissa asks, turning to face the taller woman with a frown. She hadn’t expected anyone else to be in the forest so early in the morning.
“I think I’m the one who was supposed to ask that question.” Nope. No help is needed here. Clarissa shakes her head, and the Never snorts, stepping closer as she speaks. “You know, I heard that there’s only one golden apple that fruits on this tree every year.” Clarissa stiffens, glancing between the apple and Lady Lesso. Surely she isn’t thinking of—
“Is that so?” Clarissa asks noncommittally. She tries not to show on her face how much she wants that apple. “Curious.”
“Yes.” Lady Lesso nods. “And yet each and every year when I get here, it’s missing.”
Clarissa shrugs. She looks forward to her yearly apple tarts, and it’s not her fault that Lady Lesso is slow to the punch. “Well, you know what they say about the early bird.”
“Yes, but now I’m thinking of a new saying.” Lady Lesso responds, grabbing the apple and tugging it from the branch with a near-silent snap. Those few inches Leonora had on her made all the difference, Clarissa silently acknowledged with a frown. “The tall woman gets the apple, the short one… well, doesn’t.” Leonora drawls lowly in her ear before leaning back with a grin. Clarissa will admit only to herself how much she enjoyed the close contact, however brief.
Lady Lesso starts to toss the apple, catching it in her every few seconds without breaking eye contact. It’s infuriating. Even more infuriating is how impressive the nonchalant action is.
“I’m not short,” Clarissa states, because what else is there to say? She’s not getting the apple this year, that’s for sure.
“You are.” Lady Lesso says, nodding her head. “Perhaps I’ll give you the apple if you admit it.”
Perhaps? It’s almost guaranteed that if she gives in, Lady Lesso will take the apple anyway. That would leave her both apple-less and embarrassed. “Lady Lesso, you may be taller than I am, but that doesn’t give you the right to look down on me.” She says with a frown.
A poor choice of words in retrospect.
“Professor Dovey, I can’t help but look down on you given our vast difference in height.” An over-exaggeration by miles. It’s what? Six inches at most. “I’ll give you the apple if you admit that you’re short. Promise.”
Lady Lesso waves the tantalizing fruit in her face. How bad does she really want this apple? Is it enough to set aside her dignity?
Clarissa squints, trying to find any trace of falsehood in the woman’s face.
“I—“ She starts, and Lady Lesso raises an expectant eyebrow, awaiting the words. Clarissa exhales sharply. No. No, the golden apple is not worth her dignity.
“I… hope you enjoy your apple.” She says, and it’s not true. Not true at all. Hopefully, there’s a caterpillar rooting around somewhere under the skin.
“Hmm.” Lady Lesso doesn’t press, instead brushing past Clarissa on her way back to the school. “I will.” She says, shooting her a parting smirk.
Clarissa picked a different apple that day. In fact, she picked five, all well within reach. And she has a pie instead of tarts, and it’s almost as good as her usual treat. Almost.
(4)
Clarissa doesn’t quite recall when they started using each other's first name, but once it starts, it never stops. She hates to admit how easily Leonora’s name rolls off her tongue. How much she enjoys hearing her own name falling from Leonora’s lips. It’s pleasant. Usually.
“Clarissa?” Leonora’s voice catches her attention one day as she’s sitting in her office. The woman had shown up at her door at an inopportune time, and Clarissa was having a hard time focusing.
“Hmmm?”
“You’re looking at that bookshelf like it personally insulted you.” It had personally insulted her. Mainly because It is withholding the key to one of the closets in the groom room. For some reason, someone —a student who shall not be named— had thought that was the best place to return the key.
It was definitely not the best place to return it, seeing as Clarissa couldn’t reach it!
“Is there a reason there’s a chair sitting next to it?”
“… no.” Yes, actually. Because before Lady Lesso had come knocking at her door, Clarissa had been in the midst of reaching for it. Honestly, it was as if the woman sensed when she was having—
“Are you sure?” Leonora asks, tilting her head curiously.
“Yes, I’m sure. Why don’t you tell me—“
Leonora walks over to the shelf with a purpose, and Clarissa feels her expression getting more tense with every step. She quickly follows, but Leonora runs her hand across the top of the bookshelf before Clarissa can stop her.
“Wait—“ she grabs the woman’s arm, but it’s far too late.
“Got it,” Leonora says, holding the key in her hand. Clarissa stares at Leonora and the key, then Leonora again.
“I’m not short.” She says defensively. She might as well get it out of the way, seeing as that’s how this conversation always goes.
“If you weren’t short, you would not have been able to reach this without the chair.” Leonora is still holding the key, still looking at her expectantly. Could Clarissa get it replaced instead of dealing with this?
“Would you just give it to me?” She pleads. For the first time, she asks for Leonora’s grace in a matter of high importance. Hopefully, she can get it back without—
“Would you just admit that you’re short?” Leonora responds in the same tone as she does the unthinkable.
She pats Clarissa’s head, no doubt ruining her hair in the process! The nerve of this woman!
Clarissa bats the offending hand away and glares. Shes determined to project as much displeasure as possible to the taller woman. Leonora just grins harder.
“I’m getting it replaced, so it doesn’t matter. You can keep that if you want.” Clarissa decides it and speaks it at the exact moment. She’s not short!
“… you’re not serious.”
“I am.” Clarissa doesn’t care if it costs her a kingdom and a half; she’s not giving in to Lady Lesso’s demand. Not now, not ever.
Leonora blinks at her for a second before cracking a smile. “Alright. I guess I will. But only if you’re sure you don’t need it.”
“I don’t. It’s yours.” Clarissa made her bed. She might as well lay in it. It has nice thick blankets and comfortable plush pillows, and most importantly, she’ll sleep well knowing Lady Lesso didn’t get the last word. “Now, what were you saying about—“
“We can have this conversation later. I need to put my new key somewhere safe.” Leonora interrupts her as she walks away, sliding the key into the pocket of her suit. Clarissa watches her swift departure, mouth agape.
So basically, Leonora had only shown up to ruin her evening. Typical.
Fortunately, getting the closet lock replaced doesn’t cost a kingdom and a half. It does, however, cut into her frivolity budget for the season.
If you ask Clarissa, though, it was entirely worth it. Especially since she got a deal on a second lock replacement. For an entire week, Lady Lesso has a problem opening her office door before she finds a new key on her desk.
That has absolutely nothing to do with Clarissa. Nothing at all.
(5)
Rafal fell, and it was determined that she and Lady Lesso were going to be sharing the schoolmaster's old office. They would be co-deans. An interesting proposal that they had both accepted. Clarissa had promptly made a plan.
Her stuff would occupy the lower shelves. Leonora could have the high ones. This would ensure that she would never ever struggle to reach something within Leonora’s field of vision. She had even moved in extra early to make sure that her stuff was in the right place. It all fell apart with the introduction of Lady Lesso.
Clarissa really shouldn’t have been surprised.
When Clarissa gets to the office the following day, she realizes, to her immense horror, that nothing is where she left it. Leonora is already there, clearly waiting to see her reaction.
“What did you do?” Clarissa asks despite already knowing the answer. All of the stuff that she had purposely put on low shelves was moved up to the high ones. To the shelves, she was purposefully avoiding. And the lower shelves are now occupied by Lady Lesso’s affects.
“You already know what I did, Clarissa,” Leonora says, with that annoyingly endearing familiar grin.
“Why?” Because that’s the natural follow-up. What in the world could have possessed her to—
“A tall woman such as yourself shouldn’t have any problem reaching those items. Right?” Her eyes snap from the shelves back to Lady Lesso, and she fumes.
“You know—“ she bites her tongue, taking a deep breath. “I’m not tall, Leonora. You know that. I know that. We both know that.”
“Because you’re…” the woman trails off pointedly, no doubt expecting Clarissa to finish the sentence while admitting defeat.
She would build a new, even lower shelf with her bare hands before she said those words to Leonora. Clarissa presses her lips together as she makes a plan. All she has to do is move everything back to where it’s supposed to be. Right? It’s that easy.
“Average. I’m average.” Clarissa says, straightening her spine, and Lady Lesso shakes her head. “And I’m moving my stuff back to where it belongs.” She says seriously. She means that, too. This joke had gone far enough.
“Be careful,” Leonora responds, giving her a mysterious look through glittering green eyes. Be careful?
“Why?”
“Well, you haven’t gotten to the best part yet, Princess.” The best part? She squints suspiciously at Leonora, raising her finger as it glows. Her spell doesn’t work.
“You put anti-summoning charms on my stuff?” Clarissa demands, approaching Leonora with angry footsteps.
The redhead shrugs, circling Clarissa nonchalantly. “Well, it’s all so fragile. I would hate for anything to break.” Meaning she’ll either have to carefully move everything by hand or ask Lady Lesso for help. “Do you need some assistance, perhaps? You know, getting everything back where it belongs.”
“Nope. I got it.” She says firmly.
“Are you sure?”
“I’m certain.” Her nails dig into her palms as she silently seethes.
“You know, if you weren’t so short, you could strangle me with no issue. You look like you want to.” Leonora informs her of this, pausing in front of her with an amused grin. The woman is looking down on her, always looking down on her. It’s infuriating.
“I’d very much rather kick you in the shin,” Clarissa admits, trying to brush away her frustration. This is fine. It would take an hour at most, and all she needs to get is a step ladder.
“What so we can finally be at eye level?” Lady Lesso snarks back with a laugh. Clarissa doesn’t kick her in the shin. Storian does she want to, but she refuses to stoop to violence.
Clarissa does, however, build her own damn shelf. She’s so impressed by her new skill that she redoes Leonora’s shelves, making sure that they’re all just a little bit crooked.
She feels a little joy inside whenever she spots Leonora staring at the shelves with a slight frown after something tips over or falls off.
(+1)
Leonora had compared Clarissa to a sunflower the day they met. It wasn’t an inaccurate statement, seeing how the woman glowed the sun's rays reflecting off of her golden dress. How bright her smile was. It made Leonora feel like the sun was beaming up at her instead of down. She thought Clarissa was pretty, a sight for sore eyes, yet somehow, her words were unable to reflect this feeling.
Looking back, her statement kind of sounded like a threat and an insult wrapped all in one because it seems that Leonora can’t even compliment someone without being mean.
“Do you think that if I planted you in the garden with the rest of the sunflowers, you would grow to be a respectable height?” She had asked. It’s genuinely no surprise that Clarissa hadn’t appreciated the comment.
Truthfully, Leonora knows that Clarissa isn’t that short. But the important thing is that she’s shorter. Clarissa has to look up at her when they’re talking, trading barbs, or facing each other. She likes it. She especially likes catching the fairy off guard trying to get something just out of reach.
It’s the same song and dance every time. Leonora will ask if the woman needs help, and Clarissa will deny it with a straight face. ‘No, I don’t need help,’ or ‘No, I got it,’ or even Leonora’s favorite, ‘I was wrong; I don’t need that. You keep it,’ Knowing good and well that in the few seconds since Leonora has retrieved the item, her needs haven’t changed in the slightest.
Yes, Clarissa had wanted that book. Yes, Clarissa had wanted that golden apple. Yes, Clarissa needed help getting that key off of the top of the bookshelf. And, yes, Clarissa definitely needed help moving her stuff back down after Leonora had put it on the high shelves (And really, she just wanted to see how far the woman would go not to ask for help). Yet Clarissa never backs down. She’ll grumble, frown, and give Leonora a withering look, but for some reason, she refuses to even entertain her helping hand. Said helping hand does come with strings attached, of course.
"Just admit that you're short, Princess."
"I'm not short!"
She had called the woman adorable one time. Just once. And the Ever had firmly informed Leonora that she was both older and wiser, and far too old to be called cute. That didn’t help her case at all, really, because Leonora thought the lecture was adorable as well, though she had enough sense not to say that aloud. Not with the subtle yet very effective ways Clarissa does her revenge.
So yes, Clarissa is pretty, and Leonora knew that she was attracted to her from the moment they met. And some might say that Leonora’s attempts at flirting with Clarissa by holding things out of reach are less than effective and they would be right. But it would never get old. And she doubts it will ever stop working either.
Until, of course, one day it does.
The day Leonora found ‘1001 Deadly Poisons and the Best Dishes to Hide Them In’ sitting right on Clarissa’s desk. The book that had been missing from the library for ages was sitting right there. The second she picks it up, Clarissa protests.
“I can’t believe you!” Leonora says, just as Clarissa reaches to grab the book from her hand. Futile seeing Leonora’s advantage in height. She holds it up high out of reach, yet Clarissa still stretches for it, leaning on her shoulder as she jumps.
“Leonora!” Clarissa frowns, still reaching for the book. “You’re playing unfair.”
“I’m playing unfair? How many years have you been holding this book hostage?”
“I’m not holding it hostage! I just renewed my rental on that.” Clarissa responds hastily. “And you’re one to talk. What about '1001 Tea Recipes and their Best Dessert Pairings', huh? I never got to read it because you never returned it to the library.” True, but for some reason, she expected better from Clarissa.
“I never returned it because you never returned this,” Leonora says, shaking the book in her hand pointedly. But now she can read it, and she can still withhold Clarissa’s book. At least until the woman admits that she’s short.
“Give me that book, Leonora. I’m serious.”
“Let me think about it. No.” The redhead steps back, cracking the book open as she does so. She doesn’t want to break away from Clarissa’s embrace, but reading the book right in front of her face would be good for her spirit.
Leonora doesn’t anticipate it. She doesn’t think Clarissa does either, considering the look on her face when they land on the carpeted floor. The woman had tackled her, knocking them both over. Leonora is still trying to catch her breath when she realizes her situation. Clarissa is on top of her scrambling for the book, and all she can do is watch her mouth open in surprise. For the first time since she can remember, Clarissa is looking down on her. The sun is beaming down on Leonora because the blonde grins victoriously when she catches hold of the book.
Leonora smiles back, chuckling at the unbelievable situation. Clarissa meets her eyes, then falters, losing her already precarious balance. Leonora can only grab her waist so that they both don't go tumbling over.
“I umm.” Clarissa breathes, a bit distracted as their noses brush. “I’m looking down on you, Leonora.”
She nods in response, licking her bottom lip. Leonora wants to kiss her. She really wants to kiss her. Yet Clarissa doesn’t move, still staring at her wide-eyed and in shock.
“Honestly, Princess. Is it that important?” She asks, lifting her head from the floor so that their lips brush. Clarissa leans down to meet her, and for the next few minutes, the book is forgotten.
When Clarissa lies beside her on the carpet, finally coming down from her newfound temporary advantage in height, Leonora can’t help but say it. “Admit that you’re short,” Leonora demands, turning to face her fully. They’re holding hands now, fingers linked, palms together. It’s almost as intimate as their kiss.
“Never,” Clarissa responds with a grin, leaning in for another kiss. Leonora doesn't hesitate to respond in kind.
Ultimately, I'm still happy with Arcane s2, and I know there's no way they could have fleshed everything out in 9 episodes. But I'm kinda bitter about Jinx's ending and Jayce. (I'm like 2 weeks behind, does any of this count as spoilers anymore? Spoilers below, I guess)
I didn't really have any stake in the ships presented, I just went "oh?????" and cheered tbh. So when it looked like Jayce and Viktor were a whole thing, it was that, but after sleeping on it, it feels like Jayce came back very single-minded? He and Mel were a whole thing in s1??? But he comes back and he doesn't even seem to notice that she's changed. At first, he didn't even seem to care? I wish we got a better look at his psyche because we know he went through a lot and came back with a huge responsibility, and also seemed to harbor some doubts towards her. But does that mean there just was no trust between them in the first place even though she took chances on him and supported him earlier? I think I remember thinking he was a bit of a tool in s1, but I don't know if this is the same or different. It just feels like they went from being important to each other to distant business partners?
JINX SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN TO SAY GOODBYE!!!! Even FRODO went to a whole nother place but still said GOODBYE to his loved ones first. It's so cruel to have Vi reunited with her family and actually see the goodness in her sister come back only to lose them both again. Ekko has lost SO MUCH, and at least Vi has someone near her (maybe 2 people since the big guy lived??) who can be there for her. Who's gonna be there for HIM!!!! How much did he and Vi really connect??? He has the big Firelight guy, but that last scene of him so alone and distanced from EVERYONE fucking HURTS, MAN!!! I feel like Jinx could go off on her own and "break the cycle" while also leave her loved ones knowing she's ALIVE instead of SUFFERING! It doesn't have much weight as a cliffhanger or anything similar if her story is 'wrapped up'. I do understand Cait not saying anything though. I didn't even get why everyone was saying Jinx survived until I read an article. If Cait didn't actually see Jinx survive, it'd feel cruel to tell Vi, "hey I think she's still alive!" No proof. No chance of finding her. Just Vi once again in an emotional spiral chasing after her sister...... that seems like torture.
Idk I think a few more episodes would have been nice to handle some things more neatly. I'm hoping the other projects will answer some questions about Jinx and Ekko, and also about Zaun. I'll probably rewatch the whole thing again at some point. I still think s2 was absolutely amazing. The animation alone left me dumbstruck
#still up there with spider-verse for me#arcane s2#arcane spoilers#blah blah text post#this isn't really critical???? just thoughts
I was tagged by @sunshineleefelix thanks, Boo!!
♡: Who is your favorite KPop group?
skz :)
♡: Which member sparked your interest first?
That's a good question... I actually just listened to some of the songs on and off for a few weeks before I ever actually watched a music video, let alone any of the codes or personality based stuff- But I guess *technically* it was Felix because Muddy Water came on my playlist and I went Huh. Sometimes these guys sound kinda australian when they sing in english.... and then numerous people proceeded to yell at me THERES 2 AUSTRALIANS IN THE GROUP, JESSIE. HOW DID YOU NOT KNOW? So I googled it and was like Oh.
♡: Who was your first bias?
I feel like Changbin charmed me the most at first? Idk I watched some interview video and he was being very funny and I was like :] and I'm still like :]
♡: Who is your current bias?
*Gestures vaguely* depends on the day. probably in a seungmoment right now, though. Might be Bang Chan or Lee Know or anyone else tomorrow, though.
♡: What makes them your current bias?
HMMMM... I think he's a very nice boy :) with a nice voice :) and nice hair :) and a nice personality :)
♡: Who is your bias wrecker?
Hyunjin's been charming me lately.
♡: Which member (s) are you currently obsessing over that aren’t your bias/bias wrecker?
I always have a soft spot for all of them, tbh. Maybe Felix, though- idk, if he wan'ts another sister here in Australia, I'd happily take the post.
♡: When did you first discover this group?
march last year, maybe? I didn't post for a while until 5 star came out, though :)
♡: Have you ever been to one of their concerts?
No. If I could go back in time and see the little show they did at Luna park in 2019, I would though!! alas... I was in my Not paying attention to anything modern era.
♡: What are some of your favorite songs by the group?
I really do love so many songs and Im bad with favourite because it changes from day to day, neverending story has been on loop a bit the past few days, though :)
I'll tag @chanrizard @blueprintchan @inloif @linoguy @noonaracha @wantbytaemin @sesuavity @edgymcgoth @haenglixie 💗
exhausted wolf anon here 🐺🪚 i decided on giant whip spider for the creature my sona is, since they live in caves and it would make more sense to find him in the dungeon.
His mom is a half-foot named Danlok! She was obsessed with magic (haven't read the manga yet but she's into forbidden magic, forgot the name- I'm writing this down for the first time in this ask lol I'll do some research after) andddd got chased out of her half-foot village when they found out what she was doing!! Her husband (Ferfil ig? Fer is his first name 1000%, idk what the last name or family name is yet, just spit balling rn) helped her move into a secluded area, where they had their first kiddo! His full name is Sigvik Ferz, he grew up to be about 4 years old? Before contracting a fatal illness that they couldn't find a way to cure, despite his mother's magical prowess. He passed away after 7 months of his parents trying to stabilize him. So, she left his body exactly where it was, and worked tirelessly to keep his soul contained so she could bring him back to life. She became obsessed with this goal, to an unhealthy degree, submerging herself completely into her work and avoiding anything that would distract her. Her husband was (understandably) concerned, but tried to take care of her the best that he could while she was in this state, making sure she had food and water at least. One thing led to the next, and she managed to bring Sigvik back after she disappeared with his body for a full week. But something was very wrong visually- he was double the height, with a black dusty carapace on his entire body, 6 spiked arms, and two large whip-like appendages protruding from his back. The only recognizable part of him was his face, a slight difference being his eyes were a little bigger, and almost entirely taken up by his pupils, only a sliver of the scleras visible when he looked head on. But, he was back, just a little more reserved and light-sensitive than before. His father was a little off-put at first, but once he realized that this man was in fact his son, his parents both raised him like a normal half-foot child! (holy fuck I'm writing so much I apologize for this lmfao 😿😿)
He aged like normal, until he reached maturity- and seemed to stop completely. Neither of his parents noticed until around 5 years passed? and he had no significant changes in his appearance. Which was, maybe concerning?? His mom didn't know why it was happening. His dad tried to get an answer out of her but she couldn't figure it out even if she wanted to. Still, they took care of him, hoping
A few years after this, Sigvik came home after a little walk at night and his parents were both gone. He looked everywhere for them, in their little hide-out, but found nothing. Everything was in its place, exactly how it was before he left. So, he waited for them to return. Then waited a little more. Then waited even longer. He didn't know how long they would be gone, but they would always come back home before, so he didn't think this would be much different. After the first full day they hadn't returned, he decided he would go looking for them. He got lost in the woods outside of his home, found and promptly chased away by a group of weird tall people (hasnt met anyone other than his parents), getting even more lost. He found his way into a sea-side city at night, explored a boat, got trapped inside of a crate or something of that effect, anddd ended up on the island!! crawled into the dungeon and has been living there since :3
until maybe Laios' or Kabru's party stumbles on him in the deeper levels of the dungeon. He finds half-foots more familiar and approachable than the other races (he would be very scared of Laios when they first meet- large loud man + recluse bug boy with very sensitive ears = instant disaster) and also Kabru and Marcille would be the second scariest people he meets tbh, but Kabru could probably figure out a way to make himself seem non-threatening. I see Sigvik following Kabru's party around if they meet him before Laios' party- or he finds Chilchuck secluded from the rest of the folks and they talk while he's hidden from view since they both are half-foots and have good ears. Then he steps out and scares the fucking life out of Chil because what the fuck is that thing. But then he talks and realizes 'oh this guy is the half-foot I've been talking to for the past 20 minutes in my native tongue. huh.' and yeah ..
Fun facts about Sigvik Ferz!!
His favorite food is sweet-bread, his favorite color is ivory, and his favorite animal is a sheep...
Chilchuck reminds him of his dad so he sticks close to him if he joins Laios' party!
he would be a fucking force to reckon with if he actually tried fighting, but (un)fortunately he has no interest in doing that at all.
Anyway lmk what u think or what I should add to him bc idk what else I could expand on .... What would Venery think of him omg!!!!!
OKAY LIVE!! one. i am jealous of how good you are at naming characters I am. In awe. and that creature is so damn cool????
okay two. DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR TYPING A LOT I LOVE THE BACKSTORY. It's really good! Did his parents get captured for his mom's involvement in dark magic?
I think Laios's party is definitely the best bet for him. In my personal hc I think Kabru finds it difficult to associate with beastmen (like. at least early in the story). Bc although he treats Kuroo POLITELY. He still says not to trust him and stuff (as time goes on he gets better tho as shown in the kobold extra he kinda confronts his own biases a lil)
BUT YEAH. IN THE DUNGEON. he is safest w Laios's group. And I can see chilchuck actually vouching for him, but in Chil's eyes, Sigvik is a victim of black magic and he. may kinda rub that in Marcille's face a bit. Chil would probably want to invite him in the party bc he's like "well we're trying to find a cure for izutsumi anyways" (Personally I think Chil would want to give him money to return to the surface but then hes like wait. this guy cant live on the surface he'll be killed, captured or worse). He sticks up for other half foots lol. BUT YEAH.
VENERY. MAN. ugh. the hyena genes really fuck w him (being a dungeon rabbit mix makes him a tad more docile but. not really. urghie)
He would definitely push Sigvik around. He is probably the most accepting besides Laios since Ven is just. cool like tat. but He's kinda like "this guy CANNOT be this much of a pushover" and then is like. shocked when he is. He'll bully Sigvik and pick on him but like. Does NOT let anything bad happen to him. and he also gets upset on Sigvik's behalf if anyone insults or picks on him (It's Ven's privilege to do that!! not a right!!)
After that Venery is giving him C+C lessons...combat and confidence. Bc he's nervous if Sig doesn't start learning to stick up for himself and fight back then no one will.
#venery picks on everyone tho kinda#besides izutsumi because she fights back. lol. and does not have a sense of humor#exhausted wolf anon#suck my ask
(OOC: Update + Apology—Long Post)
So I've been pretty much non-existent for the past 4 months or so BUT I can explain!
Basically what happened is that I emigrated to not just a different country, but a different continent on literally the other side of the world from where I grew up. And I left behind all my friends and family at home, meaning I came here alone and I'm still alone and probably will be alone for as long as I remain in this new country. So for the past few months I've been dealing with moving and settling down and making plans to secure my future in this new country—heck, just making sure I can have a future in this new country. I'm more or less settled into my new life now (except for the planning for the future part) but before that I kind of forgot about Melody for a while 🫥
So anyway the guilt ate away at my subconscious and Melody's voice came to me in a dream and berated me for abandoning her, so I woke up and quickly came to check on my baby. And I realise, to my utter mortification and horror, that I never paused my Tumblr queue, so all the half-baked ideas, the rough drafts, the tentative-but-not-in-chronological-order character development, had been posting itself while I was away 🫠. So if during the past 5 months you saw my blog degenerate into a bigger and bigger mess and wondered "What the heck is going on"—it's not you, it's me. Right now I'm just trying to salvage what I can of my blog (and my dignity) and reorganise everything I originally planned for Melody (tbh I forgot half of it but I'm sure the memories are in here somewhere, I just have to clean out the dust and oil the gears first).
Honestly I have no idea how many people follow(ed) Melody's story, I might as well be posting into the void for all I know. But like so many of the other RPers on this blog I started because I was bored and had some ideas in my head that wouldn't leave me alone, and over time I became attached to my OC and her story (perhaps unhealthily so). That's part of the reason why I decided not to just delete my blog and make my absence permanent. Because working on this self-indulgent project used to make me happy, and because I still have some ideas I want to share with whoever might be lurking around. Another reason is because of the community that welcomed me and that I personally watched grow. Even when this blog was at its 'most active' I probably didn't interact with other RPers as much as I should/could have (again, it's not you, it's me) but what little interaction we did have I truly did enjoy as we built and connected our own stories and characters while also interpreting the DC ones. I don't think I've said this before, and I don't think I'll ever say it enough, but really, thank you all for being willing to indulge me and play with me. This has been a lovely space to be in, and you guys combined are like 80% of the reason ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@florence-wayne-official @kit-the-nonbinary-wayne @that-one-gotham-kid @amira-wayne-al-ghul @warren-wayne-kyle @teagrayson + anyone I missed, knowing the rate at which this community grows there's bound to be at least one person I didn't tag (it's not a snub—again, not you, it's me and my bad memory—please don't be offended 🥺)
((idk if tagging everyone is proper etiquette after my prolonged absence, I was just going to say 'you know who you are' at first and leave it at that but I'm not sure if you guys actually know who you are 😅 so if I'm breaking some kind of unspoken Tumblr code of etiquette I apologise again))
(((I didn't mean for that above note to sound as rude as it did)))
ANYWAYS if you've read past the wall of text above to make it down here congratulations and thank you, I'll be doing my best to clean up/revise my blog and my OC and her story in the coming weeks and hopefully get some sort of continuity back on track :) I'm also trying to figure out what happened in the rest of the RP community in my absence so if I reply to a three-month-old post now: once again, it's not you, it's me, and there's totally no obligation to engage with.
Can't wait to hang out with the Batfamily again ☺️ plus all my RP siblings, half-siblings, future siblings, stepsiblings, undead siblings etc XD
Speaking of positivity, what are the things that made you interested in Rebelcaptain and Rogue One? What was the thing that made you fall for this movie and the characters? ☺️
well, to be honest I wasn't much of a Star Wars fan at first, in fact I hadn't seen a single movie until I was 22. me and the fam were doing a marathon at new year's at my dad's insistence and that was my first introduction to the franchise. although being on tumblr, I did know a little about Rogue One and I knew they would all die but I didn't expect it to affect me like that. I enjoyed the original trilogy a lot as well, more than I thought I would initially, but Rogue One was a complete surprise because of how much I loved it.
I also knew Jyn and Cassian were a couple people shipped, in fact one of my dear mutuals at the time really liked them, and since I trusted her opinion I already kinda had my eye on them to see if I was feeling it too. so you could say I went into it with a slight bias, but I'll say, it wasn't really until the Eadu argument that something truly clicked and I knew I was gonna have to look up some fics later. tbh I didn't even know if they would be canon or not so I fully expected them to kiss in the elevator and I was pretty surprised when they didn't (but not necessarily unpleasantly so).
I can't really explain why Rebelcaptain stuck with me so much though, I mean there are a lot of ships I temporarily get obsessed with, spend a few weeks binging a bunch of fics, then get it out of my system and move on. I honestly kinda expected it'd be the case with them too at first, but nearly six years later and I'm still here so... clearly something about them grabbed me. I mean don't get me wrong, it's not completely unexplainable because they have a bunch of tropes and elements I really dig in a couple so it makes sense, but also I think there's something deeper instinctual to it? like that sounds really cheesy but something just clicked, and idk how to explain it other than the ship chooses you, you don't choose the ship.
I also just really love tragedies and the idea of what could have been in a better life fascinates me. I often find that if a couple has a happy ending, I lose some of my interest for them afterwards but if they don't, I'll pretty much never let it go (this is kinda how I got sucked back into the destiel hole in 2020 after nearly five years of moving on from them). it's ironic because I wish Jyn and Cassian were able to be happy and have a life together, but I'm also not quite sure I would have been quite as invested in their relationship if they did. and I think that goes for the whole movie. seeing ordinary people from the sidelines of the story do extraordinary things... it always interests me more than the big heroes of the story. and I loved the slightly darker tone of the movie, it felt more grounded. tbh it just hit all of my sweet spots, what can I say?
tag (9) people you'd like to get to know better
@petrich0-r tagged me in this so here we goo 🥺💞💞
currently watching: Teen Titans (2003), Tsurune & Gilmore Girls. I started TT on a whim but I'm so glad I did, I'M OBSESSED. I'm on season three, watching it with my little sister. I love that we found something new to bond over bc she's such a sweetheart I love spending time w her 😭😭 I'm somewhere in season two of Tsurune, it's a little boring but it's a nice show. I go back to watch another episode like once a week lol,, and I've been watching Gilmore girls for almost a year now, I'm somewhere in season 5. honestly i miss the first three seasons 🥲 idk when i'll finish it but it will probably be another year since it's gotten so boring in the last few episodes and doesn't seem like it will get any better from here out 💀 It usually takes me forever to finish a show because I don't have the energy to binge watch anything anymore
currently reading: The Stranger by Albert Camus (FINALLY 🤡 I feel like I was the only one left on the planet who hadnt read this book yet), The Waves by Virginia Woolf and The Disconnected by Oğuz Atay. Actually last week I started an online book club! We have a little discord server, a group profile on goodreads and like 35 members rn and the first book we decided to read together was The Stranger, so I'm really excited to finish that one. I started The Waves a week before I made the club and only read like half of the first chapter before I had to take a break and start the club's book. But I love it already and can't wait to get back to it. And lastly, The Disconnected (Tutunamayanlar) is a turkish modern classic, it's a bit hard to read but also really interesting. It's been sitting on my shelves for over a year and I could only start it recently bc I've been a bit intimidated by how it's literally as thick as a brick 😭 I already have so many opinions on it I can't wait to finish and write a review on it
currently listening: a little bit of everything, (tbh I'm kinda bored of my music taste lately) I've just been listening to my on repeat playlist on spotify. a lot of gang of youths, lorde, EDEN, mitski, oasis and alphaville
current obsession: I'm kinda getting into DC/DCAU lore because of teen titans. but I'm a bit scared because there's so much to catch up on and the fandom seems mean wnfjskfols baby steps, i guess
tagging @freshcupofangst @roobgumball95 @homosubtext @akaashism @mihai-florescu @tsumx @kyouka-supremacy @astrolunesworld @fullscoreshenanigans
#ask game#tag game#as always feel free to ignore if you dont wanna do it dw#and thanks a lot for the tag!! 🤎🤎
