hiiii, i have a question so please help me out by dropping an answer in the replies! until now, i’ve just been using a page with a template that you can fill in and send to me via tumblr’s submit option to handle commission requests as this was pretty much the standard and made the most sense to me when i started this blog. however, since then, i’ve some experience with google form (for sending forms to other people, i’ve never personally used it). in my opinion, google forms are very user-friendly and probably easier to fill out. it’s all easier for me to clarify what every option means, making the process of requesting a theme or graphic a little less confusing. whether or not this method is easier for me isn’t really my concern right now because i’d rather know what customers (or those considering) will prefer! in any case---

INTRODUCING SHO! about a week ago, i made this post about an idea for a new oc ( you can go ahead and read that too, if you want, just in case i miss something in this post) and i’m gonna be working on officially adding him to the blog! he’s on the muse page now but i haven’t finished writing up his stats so that’ll come a little later lmao,,,anyway, this post will serve as a little intro/primer post for Sho! it probably won’t be super detailed on the backstory front because i want to write it up properly but it should let you know what you need to know! (and maybe what you don’t need to know too bc some of these facts will be p useless lmaooo)

FIRST OFF! i want to reiterate that sho’s essentially a spin-off character to rika’s canon. he’s connected to rika through her co-worker (and the nephew of the woman who owns the shop where she works), hayato. sho and hayato studied under the same mentor when they were teens and are both from similar witching families (if you ignore the part where hayato’s dad is a tv illusionist & minor star lmao). hayato was kind of a prodigy genius type whereas sho was a slacker but they got on surprisingly well. rika and sho HAVE met but they don’t know each other that well and rika’s really not sure what she thinks of sho because he’s...the human embodiment of the winky kiss emoji ( 😘 that one).

you can find some basic info about sho under the cut! i might have forgotten something important so i’ll probably make more posts in the future but i got fed up writing this so it’ll have to do for now ):<

his full name is tsukidate sho ( 月館祥 ) and he doesn’t go by any nicknames since sho is already short and easy enough on its own. he was born 8th july, 1994 in kawagoe, saitama, and currently lives in shibuya, tokyo.

specifically, he lives in his office in kabukicho, tokyo’s entertainment district. since the service he offers is a little niche and maybe even a little frowned upon, he feels a little more at home there. if nothing else, he’s not going to draw much attention to himself by doing weird shit in the middle of kabukicho.

if you didn’t read the post linked above, it’s worth explaining what this service is. fuck, it’s worth explaining either way. sho is a ‘Witch Detective’. this is a title he mostly made up himself and it’s not exactly a real profession but the long and short of it is that he functions as a private investigator who works on cases dealing with magic and and the occult.

sho is a witch himself, hence the title, but he isn’t very closely involved with the broader witching community. i’ll get into his family history later (like i said before, i’m thinking something to do with divination and curses & i might draw inspo from onmyoudou? like not exactly that bc it’s not quite fantastical enough but that’s why i said inspo) but sho isn’t personally very interested in the exclusivity most commonly associated with the community and the fact that he offers his services to regular humans and witches alike is a point of contention.

although he’s based in tokyo, he’s willing to travel just about anywhere in the world for a job so long as the client is willing to pay for his travel and accommodation. now, you might think this means he only offers his services to the wealthy but he’s usually willing to take on a few cases at once so, if he already happens to be in your country and you want his help, he’s willing to help. (from a writing standpoint, this means that locations in threads aren’t a HUGE logistic concern because he could be anywhere at any time)

sho has little faith in the judicial system and he doesn’t like the police. to be honest, he’s not even that interested in serving justice. although he calls himself a detective, his work is mostly based around helping people solve mysteries or find things. essentially, he loves a good mystery and he’s a nosy bastard. BUT he also has the skills to justify sticking his nose in other people’s business.

the cases he handles vary from kind of silly to pretty fucking grim. he does tend to screen things first, just to ensure he’s not stuck chasing up things that aren’t going to go anywhere and he’s extra picky with cases from regular people for that reason. he tends to charge all cases the same though and it won’t cost someone more to ask him to help with something on the grizzlier side. honestly, he loves a challenge.

he’s a huge flirt. he doesn’t really hit on people so to speak, mostly because he’s not actually hoping the flirting will get him anywhere, but he likes attention so...y’know. winks more often than any normal person should. he’s not a perv bc that’s just not...funny or interesting to me ASDFGFD

he gets REALLY into the cases he’s solving if they’re interesting enough so, uhhhhh, be prepared for him to dump everything he hunts on you. he’s actually GOOD at his job and solving cases but he also tends to get carried away with his imagination so it might be a while before he reels himself in and gets focused on the actual point /:

he doesn’t like to shut up. he likes the sound of his own voice. also has no patience. has a clause in his contract for when people hire him that says that, if you find him annoying, you’re just going to have to get over it.

i’ll get into the full backstory at a later date but i want to add that, when sho was about 14 or 15, his best friend went missing. this is the one case he can’t seem to solve and it haunts him to no end because he was the last person to see his friend. one second he was there. the next, he was gone. but three hours of lost memory passed by in that second, leaving a confused gap in sho’s recollection of the event. sho is one of the only people who even believes his friend his still alive. he’s not sure why he believes so strongly that this is the case but there’s a gut feeling. something he can’t place.

and that’s kind of way he does the work he does. there’s something cathartic about helping people find the answers they need when you can’t find your own. he knows what it’s like to have nobody to turn to and, if he can help others find closure, that’s better than nothing. eases the survivor’s guilt a little bit.

Do you remember that some time ago people were confused what was actually Ephemer's name? (Or could be just me, idk) Because in the game it's written Ephemer, but some people still called him Ephemera for some reason. I remember it making me so confused. So I come up with this headcanon were Ephemer's name is actually Ephemera. But when he was a kid (or younger) some mean kids bullied him for it. They made mean remarks about his name sounding too 'feminine' to be a boys name. Which ofc made kid Ephemer sad, and he decided to cut the A letter out of his name, when introducing himself to new people. So, in official papers he would still be Ephemera, but he always says his name is just Ephemer bc he doesn't want to get picked on anymore. Exception being ofc Skuld, who were his childhood bestie and couldn't get used to it. So she got a free pass on it, and can call Ephemer by name Ephemera. Also when Skuld and Ephemer became dandelions, Skuld still kept doing it. She wanted to prove to Ephemer that not everyone cared about his name, and that he wouldn't be bullied about it. And if that happened Skuld would kick their ass, lmao.

She also kinda teached the habit to other dandeloins. Who later insisted Ephemer that his name is super pretty and they too wanted to call him Ephemera. First it made him really uncomfortable, but over time he got used to it. His confident about his name did go up because of the others, and now he let people who are close to him use the name instead of denying it's existense.

Totally agree!! Hermod gives off total mom friend vibes. He's the stickler for rules and is always the one keeping the others out of trouble. They all would've been dead much earlier without Hermod.

Rhys my beloved!!!!! definitely one of my favorites (yes I will say this abt all of them, yes it is always true), I have the clearest like.... picture of them in my mind I guess? though I'm thinking of making all of them look less human and that'd def change their design some so. ANYWAY LET'S GO

so! Rhys Myers, some sort of water spirit and best friend/protector of Cory!! it's kinda hard to know where to start with them.... I have so much and yet so little. but when all else fails, physical descriptions are a good starting point :D

Rhys is fairly tall (currently I have them at 5'8 but I think they're gonna end up taller), and very, very, blue. bc water spirit. basically; their skin is light blue, their eyes are dark/navy blue, and their hair is like medium blue? but it's shimmery and has a lot of different shades of blue in it (I'll find the actual colors for all of these later, idk how to do it on a phone). their hair is basically a waterfall. it's long, nearly down to their feet,and while I haven't yet decided whether it's a real (magical) waterfall or an illusion of one, that's certainly what it looks like. they wear light-colored ripped jeans and a black shirt that's kinda like a tank top but no sleeves and made out of a cooler material? not sure what it's called. they don't wear shoes, and don't particularly like clothes in general.

Rhys themself is.... an interesting character, I think. they're very sarcastic and witty, and they get defensive p easily, but they also make a point not to show any real emotion to people they don't know well. the way they act isn't reserved exactly, but they're closed off. in general they're very playful, and while some of their pranks can be kind of mean they don't hurt people who they don't think deserve it. but they have a very strong sense of right and wrong which can lead them to do some bad things to people they're angry at. (it's kinda hard for me to describe their personality, I have a very vivid picture in my mind but I can never find the words :( hopefully this made sense!!)

their backstory- which still isn't fully worked out yet btw, some of it doesn't make total sense so I'm probably going to change a lot of it later- is basically that their parents were..... neglectful? and they were given a lot more responsibility than they could really handle since they were little. namely, being the primary caretaker of six or so little siblings for most of their life (not all six since the whole time, they were born a year or two ahead of some and then they also have half-siblings they take care of that came along later) they met Cory when they were eight and he was six when his parents hired them as his babysitter (their parents made them apply for the position for the money, they're tall and they lied about their age plus they acted v mature for their age so it was convincing. also Cory's parents didn't really care) the two of them didn't really get along at first. Cory was wary of anyone who his parents had chosen to take care of him so while he was sweet as usual he was also pretty distant and didn't trust Rhys much. Rhys was just pissed to have to take care of another child, and maybe a little bit jealous of Cory (bc the way his family was they were like the "perfect family" on the outside but when you look into it more it falls apart y'know). but they got to like each other from like interacting a bunch and realizing they're not bad people and also probably some more specific stuff I have to come up with. the two of them run away together after a few years (why are all my characters exiles/runaways. why is this a thing I do) and meet up with everyone else over a period of a couple years maybe? I really don't know how that's gonna happen but I'm trying not to rush it asdfgfds

various other facts about Rhys: they're nonverbal (and also deaf maybe haven't decided), and talk w sign language they're aro/ace!! I associate the song Can't Sleep Love with them a lot as like their thought process before they knew abt queer stuff and were confused as to why they weren't attracted to anyone. I have like a whole animatic planned out in my head but I'll prolly never make it bc I can't animate :( they'd admit this over their dead body but they cry a lot at movies and shows and stuff. if someone finds out they claim it's bc water and stuff but really they just have a lot of emotions (/lh, I am exactly the same way) strong sense of right and wrong =/= refusal to do like. illegal shit. they have and will break many laws and hurt people who r assholes to them or their friends. their moral compass is not at all in line with the law and I love that about them

I'm sure I have more stuff abt them somewhere but I can't think of it off the top of my head and also this is really long now so I'm gonna stop here!! sry this took so long I've been working on it for nearly a week and I just did like 90% of it within the last few hours?? CRUCIAL MUSE DEVELOPMENT FOR TOMO KATSUMURAfor what would your character give their life? / @sharkapologlst

This is a bit of a tricky question in that I don’t feel it’s right to give a super literal answer, given the nature of Tomo as a character, but I think the non-literal answer is the more interesting on, as well as the one that ultimately says more about Tomo overall. The thing for which Tomo would give his life, in a manner of speaking, is his art. No doubt about it. This refers to, of course, the art of acting. He’d probably admit to it himself, without really realising he meant it. It sounds like a cliché and he’d say it like he knew that, just so he’d sound passionate, but it’s true. Deep down, it’s absolutely true. And I can’t say it’s a good thing.

Despite his reputation as a wild child, he cares deeply about his work. He’s presented to the world as someone who abuses his own talent and fame by partying and making bad decisions but, for Tomo, those things are very separate. The truth is that they’re not and Tomo does dumb shit to cope with the stress of having come into fame at a sensitive age but the point is that he believes they’re separate parts of his life. Still, the trouble is that he doesn’t take his career for granted and he’s not just here to reap the rewards of fame. In fact, he has very mixed feelings about it; he hates being under scrutiny all the time but he needs the attention. Y’know, or else he feels like he’s vanishing away. But that’s a whole different story. The main point here is that Tomo loves acting. Maybe he doesn’t love his job because of all the other shit that comes with it but he loves acting. It’s his passion, it’s perfect escapism!

Even if he’s been pushed to work on a film he doesn’t want to do, he puts his all into it because he cares about the craft. But when he’s working on a film he does genuinely want to do, that’s when stuff can get a little, uh, problematic. Tomo takes his work perhaps a little too seriously. We’re not talking method acting or anything, he’s not that interested in that side of things and he’d never take on a role that demanded physical change because he likes having free reign over his personal life and there’s no director he’s going to trust like that. Ha. It’s more that Tomo tends to obsess over getting everything right when he’s preparing for a role. He’s less open and chatty while he’s in this preparation phase and it’s not unheard of for him to stay at home and mostly just avoid contact with people. Not because he’s trying to block anybody out, just because he’s too focused on what he’s doing. Min often comes around to visit him anyway, granted he has the free time, and Tomo’s more than okay with that because they understand each other’s boundaries and Min’s pretty willing to help him read lines. To be honest, I think hanging out with Min and reading lines with him probably keeps Tomo grounded because he doesn’t have to obsess and panic over whether or he’s getting things right because he has active feedback from someone who understands him better than anybody else. As you may know, Tomo has not long since returned from a year living in Tokyo, working on a Japanese film, and I’m sure it goes without saying that he didn’t have that support network while he was living there. Maybe I’ll talk about how he got on in another post soon. (actually, might write a drabble abt smth soon hehe)

Buuuuuut the fact remains that Tomo is more than willing to put that kind of work before his own needs. Tomo doesn’t really sleep well when he’s working on films because he’d rather spend as much time getting his work done than rest. Burn-out is a pretty common issue for him and, although he tries to approach work as professionally as possible, there have been occasions where filming’s been put on pause because Tomo hit his limit. He hates it when that happens, it makes him feel guilty even though usually he has to be ordered to take a break.Again, this isn’t a very literal answer but I think it’s more that Tomo sees acting as his life. Maybe I didn’t really answer this right! I’m not really suggesting that Tomo would push himself so far for acting that he’d end up…actually dying or anything like that but I mean that, again, his work is his life. He’s already decided, although he’s still young, that he’ll stake his whole life on being the kind of actor he wants to be rather than the actor his bosses want him to be. Doing his job right, continuing to earn the right to do what he wants for a living…these are all things he values as higher than looking out for himself. Because Tomo has a lot of issues with his own identity as a result of being pushed with these strict images at a young age, he’s quite content to escape into his roles. His priorities are very mixed up.

Obviously, he WANTS to have a life outside of his work. He doesn’t want acting to be the only thing he’s got. But the point is that, so long as he’s got that, he thinks he can manage. He’d be miserable but he thinks he could get by and still see meaning in things so long as he had acting. And maybe close friends. Tomo wouldn’t do well at all if he suddenly had no social circle but, so long as his closest friends (i.e; Min) stuck around and he had acting, he’d manage. This is something he’ll NEVER admit because he’s sure someone would inevitably say he was like his dad and that’s something he doesn’t want to hear. He doesn’t enjoy being compared to his dad. It’s annoying. He wants to be valued as his own actor.

Although, trying to be seen as his own actor and making sure the image people have of him doesn’t get to distorted is something else for which he’d go pretty fucking far. It’s important to remember that we’re talking about a guy who drove himself into a tree as a reaction to be pushed a squeaky-clean teen heartthrob against his will. Granted, he was very, very careful about it (he didn’t come out of it unscathed but he really tried his best not to cause too much damage) and did it more for the sake of making a spectacle. This was a few years ago so he had been younger but the point is that he’s willing to do a LOT to make his point. It was a stunt that could have easily ruined his career flat-out. He could have faded into obscurity the second he was fired from that TV show. As seriously as Tomo takes the projects about which he’s passionate (i.e; not that TV show lmao), he’s not afraid of causing a fuss. He’s upset a lot of people in the latter, more recent half of his career. His move to Japan pissed a lot of people off too but he wanted to make a point about his right to be independent. I think he’d rather do risky things and fuck his career than have somebody else push him into a career without passion.

(also, I’m sorry if this is very rambly and confusing and doesn’t make a lot of sense; i didn’t really proof-read it or anything and, honestly, tomo himself…doesn’t make much sense, i guess? he’s supposed to be kind of a contradictory character so, if this is confusing, that’s probably about right ASDFGHJHGFD)

AND i finally started watching venom (2018) bc another frnd recommended it, only 10mins in rn asdfgfds but hey the fan art is cute. this fixation is wearing off but detroit become human. like its fun, the game part- the actual art? animation? idk but its really good, but the story can be a bit. eh. like its good its fine but theres are gaping issues+ ??? idk. wanting to get into digital art but i have other shit to do rn (till mid dec) so maybe ill look into it a bit later. Hey sorry if it took me a while to respond. Just woke up and had to get ready for collage etc. I’m typing this on the bus.

Anyway, that’s really cool! I’m currently doing a similar thing in terms of characters etc. I made some OC’s for a series I like but recently I’ve been wanting to make them their own thing away from that series. I get what you mean as well about day dreaming about the characters and different scenes, it’s so much fun! I’m still working out an actual plot as well and have a few things written.

I’ve heard of ace attorney and venom but haven’t had a chance to check either of them out yet. They sound good tho. Especially if there’s an anime of ace attorney (I say as if I don’t have an entire mountain of anime I’m wanting to get through already. Eh, what’s one more to add to it?😂) Do you have any recs for watching the gameplay?

My current obsession is My Hero Acadamia. It’s not a perfect series but I still love it loads and could ramble about it forever. My favourite character is easily Bakugo because I really heavily relate to him, he’s really funny and I think his arch in the series is amazing. He starts the series being a massive jerk (I still loved him even then tho ngl😅) but as the series continues, he grows a lot. I kinda describe it as he’s a different person now while also being exactly the same. Meaning, he’s still angry, intense and competitive but he’s also definitely nicer and has humbled a bit too. I recently finished the series because there’s a new movie coming out about it (not live action thank God) and I’m planning to go see it with one of my friends who also loves the series. It’s kinda hard to find a place showing it in England tho that’s near where I live. I’m very exited tho because the movies main characters are are probably my favourite trio friend group😃
