INTERVIEW WITH AUBREY YANG

Aubrey Yang, the multi-faceted actress debuts her talent and grit for directing and screenwriting in her short film Pelt, winning the Best Screenplay and a notable nominee for the Best Film during London Film week. Since we've last seen her at Elle New York, she has turned 18, nearing 19 now, and made some drastic changes to her life.

Since her film, Yang has not been in any other production as talent, but teases us with a new project "that's coming soon, don't worry". She adores her new found love for being a creative, and is scouting to get her hands on more projects in Hollywood on that side of the camera.

Her studies continue at New York University and she is set to graduate early, next year. When asked about her ability to balance school and work, she smiles knowingly and tells us that "it's important to take breaks, but more importantly, I've chosen things I love to do".

During these breaks, Yang is often seen with fellow young actress Dior Goodjohn and international pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo. But 18 has brought a new hobby: Formula One.

"I met Lily [Muni He] and Alex [Albon] at a gala, and we hit it off. They're like my parents" she answers adoringly. She has been seen multiple times in both the Williams and Ferrari garages visiting with fans and learning about the mechanics of racing.

"I've met some wonderful people; I never really got to be a regular teenager because I was working and going to university early. They've really helped teach me about having fun and letting loose."

Next year when we inevitably feature her lovely face again, we'll see the new changes to her life.

finally finished immortal desires book 2! honestly i'm pretty satisfied overall, i liked a lot of what we got and rly only have like. one complaint tbh

so tldr; glad terri's keeping her memories, happy to officially pair up with both vampires, and very glad there's gonna be a book 3. hopefully without ai please please please

longer thoughts:

excited for the larger role terri might be able to have come book 3, since she was allowed to keep her memories this time around. i imagine she won't be the only one though, since the story briefly mentioned libby keeping some memories which like, on that note..

whatever happened to the whole mc's human friends plotline? at the start i thought it'd actually amount to smth but iirc it really doesn't? not even libby really gets much which is odd, considering how much we kept going back to her. it might be a book 3 thing? idk if there was enough setup in that case though

my only other critique was with seth's funeral bc like... again, i don't think they developed him enough to really make me feel much? like, i liked seth but... with how emotional everyone was in his funeral scene, i imagine they thought players would be sobbing and the mark was missed -- on me at least.

like, they had to invent a scene that we never even saw to endear him to us, during the funeral scene which shouldn't be necessary. he really needed a bigger role in this book to make this all work, maybe having him and mc train together (since they're both so new), and tag along during the little exile arc. just something tbh

but negatives aside, SO so happy we could finally officially be with our chosen vamp. i went w/ both bc im a sucker and i enjoyed the scenes we got. i especially enjoyed:

solely bc it feeds into gabecasmc. i think gabecas has a genuine chance in the next book and im rly excited, happy for mc and all but i rly want all three to be down and shit. idk

and final thought . witches for book 3? with the mention they got at the start of the chapter + the runes on the tree and cas' powers still needing development, i think its the most likely route. wonder what the next collection we'll get will be, maybe mc could learn spells as well? just excited omg

and real final thought fuck this outfit in specific. gabe and cas r so lucky mc is whipped bc i wouldve denied

1.) Agreed. Not only is Deathshipping my favorite, Ryo (@starlitmemoriam) and Mariku are just getting along so well, it was almost shocking... like we cluldn't bend them in any direction.

The magnetism was beyond creepy and exciting.

2.) Eli's Atem (@ofthepuzzle) is definitely great shipping material. We resonate super well about a lot of things and apparently, whenever they come together our muses just so happen to be risktakers for the highest benefit.

I have done Clashshipping in the past but it never felt this natural to me 😌

3.) You and meboth, Anon. @darknesskng and I had a few IM interactions and we exchanged a bit of writing. I don't know them well, yet, but they have a nice spice in their portrayal. Probably oneof the muses around that could become really dangerous for shadow boi.

He'd have to feel out the waters first, before getting into any kind of relationship, since he has dealt with enough toxic and suppressing situations in his life.

4.) I swear Ra's Marik (@iilahalzili) is such a different brand, I'm very happy they portray him so extremely versatile and differently. In all honesty, I could maybe see them circling each other, but I don't know if it would lead to anything.

some new things that have happened in my life since last season:

i moved to LA (i actually live about 15-20 min from the big brother house which is super cool)

i finished my first year of law school

i met some super cool people at school - including the first crush ive had since i was like 14/15 lol

honestly i cant think of much else? school takes up most of my time unfortunately. i have gotten into some new video games like persona but that seems so boring in comparison lol

oh i got a pass to universal studios which has been fun! besties come join me we can do a BB day at the park

okay what am i most looking forward to this season hmm.... cheesey answer but watching feeds with you all in the tag! i feel like being a feeds watcher is such a unique experience and im so glad to get to discuss and experience it with all of you. idk ive always loved the sense of community that forms as we watch randos in a house all summer, i had to miss most of last season (bc of school 😭 really hoping my schedule is lighter this year) so its great to be back and get the chance to experience that again i really missed it.

that or its a romcom of a day repeating over and over again until we get it right. groundhog day kind of deal but there's two of us. someone gets a drink spilled on them in the beginning and its a very "ugh, im stuck with YOU" situation until idk we kis kis fall in luv.... enemies to lovers arc but its also losers to lovers arc. ft our quirky best friends who eventually believe us and we get it down to a science. said besties would be the ones who are like "have you ever considered you idiots need each other to get out of ur time loop or w/e" and thats the turning point of begrudging "ok fine i guess we'll have to work together"

ahhh quick euphoria 2x05 notes (spoilers, duh)

first of all to the people who are upset about no fezco and lexi, not sure we're watching the same show? last time I checked rue and her addiction was the anchor of the show and fez and lexi were side characters but 😬 like yeah I miss them too but it's not about them and it never was

anyway rapid fire thoughts because brain very full

the entire family intervention oh my god

ahhh and jules was there the whole time and the change on zendaya's face from the raw anger and terror and everything straight to shame and embarrassment and then back to a mortified rage and then it all comes out- ashjfhdsjga

real quick I just also wanna say that the portrayal of a drug addict in too deep in their addiction and how it turns you into the worst version of yourself to a point where you cant even recognize yourself anymore and how that shit affects your loved ones- damn they nailed it. every single one of them. props to the entire crew for not shying away from the ugliest parts of addiction, and for portraying it with such a nuance that it never once feels like theatrics. this was so raw and so real.

"you don't love me, you love being loved" or whatever the quote was. TWO things. 1- this is very deep rooted and so foul for rue to throw at jules, because there is some truth to it. but also, and I think from some of the posts ive seen in the euphoria tag, I think people are missing the point, that jules "ratting out" rue to her mom is the ultimate act of love for her. I'm also curious as to how this intervention echoes anything jules has experienced with her mom too, and if we'll ever get to explore that connection further. like I'd love to see a jules special episode like sea blob but after this has all transpired. or just. maybe I'll write a fic. idk.

"I liked rue the way she was" I've been really on the fence about elliot this whole time, a lot of his decisions are contradictory and it's really iffy to me what he's here for. last episode he knew rue went to the bathroom to do drugs, went in after her as if he was doing them too, then suggested stealing alcohol knowing damn well she shouldn't be mixing the two - all the while she has no idea that he's not mixing them too (if that makes sense). then he tells jules, and I think it's genuinely from a place of worry. because honestly? I think he does care about both of them, and its clicking for me this episode that they really are some of his only friends. I think this was expressed right when we met him, but this quote (which im seeing everyone get mad about and call him a bad guy, and I get why) is huge when we remember that he only has two friends that we know of. rue and jules (by extension, at least originally). and now after telling her mom that she's on drugs and seeing this side of her, he's lost one. it's seemingly a selfish sentiment, to say that he wishes he never told, that he liked her better before. but I think it's incredibly real of him. because now he feels guilty, he thinks he's destroyed one of his only friendships beyond repair, I mean just look at the way rue screamed at jules, all the horrible things she said to her. how did jules find out? through elliot. and maybe rue doesn't make that connection now, but she will, and elliot knows this. and keep in mind elliot isn't exactly the clearest mind in the room either - he's also on drugs, which gives him a certain degree of irrationality as it is. he's like in the beginning stage, and he's seeing how the same damn drugs that he does are affecting rue now, and its gotta be scary, because he could go there too, you know? or maybe he's thinking that could never be me. wow apparently I have a lot to say about elliot I think a lot of his character clicked for me this episode (if next episode he's some sort of villain like everyone says he is I'll just chug my dumb bitch juice and write a fix it fic).

oh my gosh and fez having to kick rue out, that's how you know it's bad too. rue's family to him.

this ep was a masterpiece in cinematography btw and the blocking of all the scenes was incredible- rue running into traffic, the entire police chase, gosh

cassie's "just take it day by day" as if she hasn't spent this entire season absolutely petrified from the what ifs of maddy finding out, as if everyone in that room has not seen her hyperventilating on the phone late at night and getting shitfaced and having an identity crisis. (it's still so frustrating to see all the hate she gets this season, she's sure as hell not the only one making dumb decisions and being a reckless teenager and breaking down but yet she's getting arguably the most hate for it.)

rue drops the nate bomb, maddy's pissed of course, cassie's worst fear comes true. we don't see what's next, and that's a good thing, this episode is a pivotal rue rock-bottom episode and if we suddenly switched to nate drama it would be absolutely jarring and would take away from both rue's story as well as the nate storyline. I desperately want maddy and cassie to realize that nate's abusive and treated them both horribly and after the arguing and screaming, they make up, are stronger friends than ever, kick nate's ass or whatever.

ohhhh laurie. obviously there's always been something off about her. I was fully convinced after her whole "being a woman means you can pay in other ways" thing that when she got rue in the bathtub she was going to do something, because obviously she knows that rue can't pay her back, and most likely is fully aware that rue never had any intention of following through. honestly, I think she knew this from the start. she totally set rue up. but anyway, woman sexual predator, I'm 75% sure that's what's going on here, whether she already did something to rue or will do something. I don't think rue's going to take her advice and sell herself to pay laurie back, but you really never know with this show

anyway I think that's all I got for now? this episode was so incredibly heavy adjghgjdshaj brb while I curl up in bed and stare at a wall for a bit
