NOVELS SET IN THE NIGHT VEIL UNIVERSE

been thinking about all these stories a lot lately and decided to share some quick summaries. idk if i will ever get to any of these aside from the first, but i think they could be fun to explore even if they’re just things that only get posted on the internet somewhere lol.

The Night Veil - This one is obvious of course, but it’s part one of a (tentatively) four-part series. Loosely inspired by Beauty and the Beast and The Swan Princess, Everly has to break the curse she accidentally set on her kingdom in 100 years’ time or it will become permanent. The Night Veil surrounds the kingdom, Everly and her court are confined to the castle grounds, and they turn into monsters called furies once a month. One hundred years later, Asher, step-son of the Anverian king, needs to find a cure for an epidemic and decides to look in the one place left in the world that has magic - the cursed kingdom. But of course, Asher & co. get stuck there. They team up with Everly & co. to break the curse and revive magic!

Ash of the Ironwood - Set hundreds of years prior to The Night Veil, this story follows the journey of Kav Connelley, an MIA soldier who reappears a year after a mission into the enchanted rainforests of Firesse went wrong. Not only does he not have any memory of what happened to him, he’s got a cursed metal gauntlet fused to his right arm. Cael, an airling who guards the forest to the north, begins to notice strange creatures in his woods—creatures that seem to be coming from the Ironwood to the west. Creatures that Kav takes it upon himself to defeat—the one good thing he’s been able to do with his magic arm. (This is set in a time way before magic was banned, but a time when magic wielders and non magic wielders did NOT get along.)

The Infernal Three - a story about how each of the gods gave up their powers to live on land as mortals (some by choice and some via punishment), specifically focusing on the three daughters of Ela, the goddess of life. Jumps back and forth between the gods and their reincarnations several generations later as they search for the legendary “sleeping warrior” and the starstone the warrior was supposedly hidden away with. (The reincarnations are part of the same timeframe as Everly and later have a cameo at the end of The Night Veil series.) This also shows a bit more about how the villain from TNV became the villain.

The Hundredth Year - a dark academia/university au of The Night Veil just for funsies. Not sure i will ever write this, but I think about this story and modern au versions of my characters a lot, so I feel like it’s worth mentioning lol. I would really like to do this and share the chapters on wattpad or something.
