Ok i'm curious because i come from a region where you will get nicknamed if you want to or not
Nickname is everything that isn't your name that's on your ID (except if it's a deadname of course and you didn't legally change it (yet)).
#i'm doing a poll again because i am a confused Bärnerin#and like at work everyone calls me by my full name which is creeping me out sometimes because like that's so formal?#and every swiss person will just call me a version of my name after like 5 mins of talking#i always i troduce myself with my full name and they will go nope we can make it shorter#idk seems to be a swiss/bernese thing to me#like for example Jessica becomes Jess Jesus Jesi Jessä#Sica etc. immediately here#idk just curious
