Took a gander at the new Fallout show and mostly it just like A) makes me want to boot up New Vegas for the first time in forever, and B) shocks me how little the like Fallout-isms bother me? Like usually little details like uhhhh. The pip boy sounds. The rad sounds. The obvious shots focusing on food products from the games. Character slowly and reverently pulling a Single stimpack from Storage Space. The power armor. For whatever reason they don't come off as jarring and in your face "Oh my god, it's the Thing!" They do it well, all things considered, and that surprises me.

#also the irony of like. the story being about how the bombs were explicitly a megacorporate plot to take over the world #becaud apparently owning at least a part of everything isnt enough for capitalism #a bunch of rich corporations met in a board room to plot how to end the world in a way that maximizes their profits and control #and then the show is airing on like. Amazon?#idk man i think the horrible evil megacorp who cares about profits over spready misery and pain is you guys??#also the choice to reveal who dropped the bombs? interesting (i.e. bad) narrative choice there #not really a fan bc it never really struck as a question whose answer meant anything
