[KDH x Genshin] Hunter!Reader x Demon!Childe—a concept

So…watching Kpop Demon Hunters has altered my brain chemistry. (Awesome film, awesome music, pls watch it if you haven’t. And if you have…watch it again. )

And somehow, someway, it’s led to my brain coming up with an idea for Childe out of all people but like, hear me out.

Note: I haven’t thought it all through. This is literally me emptying my brain in a semi-organized manner.

•Demon!Childe that fell for the promise of more power, more strength, more battles

•Demon!Childe who’s shame is failing to watch out for his family, his siblings. A shame so strong it burns him from the inside out and makes him want to tear his skin.

•Demon!Childe who wants to tune out the torture, the years of endless grief and pain. And yet he feels like he deserves it all for having let down his family, abandoned them for a selfish pursuit.

•Demon!Childe who’s so formidable, when he crawled back to the human world he was ready to let out some of that pent up rage and self-hatred. Only to meet with a hunter that finally managed to keep his pace in battle.

•Demon!Childe who gets kicked in the face but he can only laugh as he finally feels something besides shame.

•Demon!Childe, whose excitement for battle is just a pretense. Fights becoming more of a cat and mouse game where he keeps yapping and asking questions, trying to get to know the person that keeps pointing the blade at their neck.

•Demon!Childe, who gets reminded of the humanity that’s been lying dormant deep within him and it’s terrifying. He is terrifying, having acted like a monster for so long and believing it.

A/N: Will I be writing a full fic? Who knows.

I don’t know why I treat this place like a personal journal when I in fact own a journal, but, April has been kind to me I think. I’ve made friends irl with similar interests for once and I don’t feel like I have to hide much of myself, they were all so easy going and kind. I’m just happy, I feel creative again and that makes me happy too. That is all.

As much as I love the ‘Viktor gave himself a balayage in his commune era’ jokes/memes, ​I am a firm believer that the last thing on his mind was changing how he looked. Because once he realized he no longer felt the pains of his disease, and he was cured, his desire to pursue the improvement of lives and do good (albeit a desire now corrupted/tainted through merging with the Hexcore) was the most important thing.

He was “fixed” of his flaw, and now the fragility of existence and the fear of not fulfilling your aspirations were gone. There’s no need to dwell on himself further when he has the power to do much more outwardly.

I also think he carried himself with enough confidence throughout the show, that it could be argued that he isn’t really self-conscious of his image ever, only resentful of his sickness and being undermined because of it + his status as a Zaunite.

i don't think viktor's appearance in the commune is representative of how he "really" wanted to look or him "breaking free" of piltover's expectations and i don't understand why it's such a common belief. visually, there's a massive contrast between who he is in his astral form (fuller figure, stronger posture, short hair) and his commune body. viktor not being himself is a huge part of his character arc in s2, ie., from going "there's always a choice" to "choice is futile", to the changes in personality and ideals, etc. why would his appearance be seperated from the hexcore's manipulation?

in his astral form, and in his final form when he's dying with jayce, viktor reverts back to how we see him in the first act of season 1. fuller cheeks, short brown hair, whilst jayce keeps his post s2act2 self. because for both of them, these are the times they felt most like themselves... jayce, after he's had his "awakening" and realisations in the parallel world, and viktor, back before the hexcore even existed, before his disease worsened. back when he was still just a scientist trying to do good in the world

So at my work we sell calico critters which are near and dear to my heart, and I've also been super into Trigun Stampede lately, so naturally my brain gave me this wonderful concoction that I had to draw and share with you all.
