the irony of amalice saving the world and, for all intents and purposes, ending the crusade as a hero, only to go insane from her powers within months of the war ending
#txt#ch: amalice huene#it’s like the second she stopped having a war to fight and fired to run between it consumed her#she and daeran get married and she becomes the ruler of drezen and is happy in her makeshift castle#but the mayhem and chaos begins to consume her - the dark powers she was born with combined with these abyssal ones becoming too much#the corruption having taken root so deeply within her and having been such a gradual steady thing that no one really notices#until it’s almost too late#idk like amalice went through some full on things during th crusade#but the arguably worst years of her life were the few after it had ended#*fires
