here's a list of things i love about PSMD for no reason other than i think it deserves appreciation (spoilers)
the hero gets adopted by a nuzleaf. Hero, a young child that doesn't know why they were brought into this world, attacked by beheeyem, scared and alone, finds someone that takes them under his wing and gives them a home. it's really sweet that once Nuzleaf brings them to the Village, Hero's not alone anymore.
yes it was all a trick, he deceived you. but being betrayed by your father figure hits so much harder. it's much more personal, especially when both Hero and Partner are kids. and when Nuzleaf goes through all that ordeal in the post game, then gets accepted back into the village?? And his little speech to Hero????? it's heartbreaking and incredibly touching at the same time
everything is just so cute!!!! you go to school with your new friendo and you're friends with the schoolkids, and you make the trip to school every morning taking in the scenery, the smell of dew and fresh grass, and the sun on your face... and you take classes about Mystery Dungeon mechanics, and principal Simipour is a big BRO, the school nurse Audino is super kind and helpful... and you get to play with your pokemon friendos in summer vacation, and explore a dungeon with 'em... AND your bond with your Partner begins to form, getting stronger and stronger from then on. PSMD's beginning arc is so warm and pleasant, it's like reliving childhood memories all over again, when things were happier and you didn't have to worry about how cruel the world is. this story section's one purpose is to get the player used to the game's mechanics, as well as foreshadowing. unfortunately most of the school kids get forgotten later on, but I still love this part for everything it is, even if unintentional.
it's not just the beginning that's cute. PSMD'S ENTIRE WORLD IS ADORABLE. It's just filled with life every town you go. there are a bunch of pokemon locals and they all have interesting things to say, in the main story and the post-game. there's a point where their comments get repetitive, but that's bound to happen in any PMD game. Even then, the days are never the same. one morning you wake up and the Lively Town locals are exercising, then the next they're having singing lessons, and then they're practicing martial arts. and you get to connect with (or recruit) some of them just by.... chatting!!! Sitting next to that big ol' venusaur and sharing stories, laughing and having fun. it's good stuff.
Sometimes you find travelling pokemon in dungeons and it's jsut the coolest thing. Imagine you're exploring a dungeon, then your Connection Orb notifies you there's a fellow explorer in the floor. First thing you do is try to find them, and when you do - oh dang a travelling Archeops!!!! And then they just,,,, exchange their experiences and thoughts on exploration and how hard it is to fend off those enemies and the cool treasure they found the other day (the game calls it "[Team Name] and [Traveller pokemon] compared notes"). then the traveller heals you, fills your belly and restores your PP. and they go on their way. idk man it's such a cute interaction. explorers chatting, empathizing and helping each other, bc their job is not an easy one...
PSMD Partner is the most developed Partner in any PMD game yet. They start off as this naive, hyperactive kiddo, then stuff happens, and worse stuff happens, and you get to see how they grow and change and by the end they're a different person than they were before (in more than one way ...). It's just so nice to be by their side, from the beginning to the bitter end, and watch their growth. in contrast, Hero is a little unbalanced in that their backstory is not explored as much, and their personality is kind of a blank - probs meant to be vague so the player can be in their shoes. to me this just gives you the opportunity to shape their character however you want, so you can have tons of different hero/pardner dynamics.
The music is rlly flippin' good. Some of the tracks are recycled from previous entries, but when they go original??? it's a blast!!! "Echoes of the Mystical Forest" is one of my favorites in all four entries, it has no right being so amazing for a random dungeon. "Time to Set Out" makes me cry immediately (also i think it would be a better fit for the parting ways scene at the end...). Don't even get me started on "Second Dark Matter Battle", it has everything an epic climax needs and MORE. the Partner remix????? absolute genius
speaking of which, Dark Matter ITSELF,, is freaking amazing. Its actions were foreshadowed in the very beginning, though they were not blatant through the game. i do think they could have done a better job at showing the pokemon's negativity raising in the world, as well as negative feelings in the characters... but it's not like Gates did a good job at it, either (outside of cutscenes, all the locals in Post Town are incredibly nice to you and fights didn't "break out often". it's like the game tells you the world is a dark place, but what it shows in gameplay doesn't add up). so i'll cut them some slack. Still, I find Dark Matter a more compelling villain than the Bittercold for several reasons. it is sentient. its speech is a jumbled amount of voices all talking at the same time - the anguished voices of the world. It actually concocted a plan to hurl the planet into the Sun, using pawns like Nuzleaf and Yveltal to do its dirty job. in the Voidlands, Hero and Partner discover its past, and how it'll come back after defeat, like a cycle. when Partner accepts Dark Matter, they accept negative feelings as something everyone has within themselves. Most of all, the fact that Dark Matter is a manifestation of negative feelings doesn't make it just a generic threat, a final obstacle to be defeated so the world can be saved. It makes Dark Matter - negativity itself - a natural part of the world, the yin to its yang. and that's why I LOVE IT SO MUCH DANG IT EVEN THANKS PARTNER FOR THEIR ACCEPTANCE
The fact that Dark Matter can possess pokemon that have "even the smallest amount of darkness in their hearts". it makes me think of Mr. Nuzleaf and what he might have gone through in the past to make him so easy to be controlled. Did he hold a grudge against someone?? Did he commit a crime?? Had Nuzleaf always been malicious???? And if so, is this why he shows so much remorse in the post-game??????? because he had always been this vile fiend and then he met this small kid and got attached, but still carried on with his evil actions because his malice was still stronger than the positive feelings and Dark Matter's hold on him intensified?????? I don't know!!!! and as much as i wish the game could have given us that sweet mr. Nuzleaf backstory, it's pretty fun to have freedom to come up with your own version.
Everything about Super's climax is just phenomenal. Every single flippin' legendary is there to help you. Arceus is in the game. MEWTWO IS THERE. and when things are looking hopeless, they really seem hopeless. First the Tree of Life is dying, then your allies get turned into stone and sent to hell The Voidlands, Arceus gets turned into stone, the entire world is stone (except for several mon' that are still safe and holding onto hope, but they're so few). Your Harmony Scarves stop working and you and your Partner are back to your feeble, basic stage forms. You are bordering exhaustion, you have no Emeras, it's just you and your Partner against an eldritch abomination that's killing the life on the entire planet like a parasite, devouring all hope. but you still fight back. Given how adults in the game always discourage the village children from going adventuring, that they cannot do this or that because they're so little and fragile, it's awesome how Hero and Partner beat Dark Matter as tiny kids.
PSMD is not a flawless game. in fact there's plenty of things that hold it back and i even mentioned some... but it's still full of love put into it and it resonates w me more than PMD Explorers of T/D/S and Gates to Infinity (Rescue Team is a close second). its my all-time favorite PMD game.

Emet-Selch & Lyna for the character meme :3
Tumblr media
Little disclaimer, I'm an opinionated individual, so if any of my words about the character are rather harsh, try not to take it personally. Media exists to be criticized, and I'm definitely a critic!
How I feel about this character
One of the few FFXIV villains that actually felt compelling. It was so so so FUCKING refreshing to have a villain be introduced to us with valid reasoning behind his motivations, ones that matched our own to a T as the WoL. For the first time since I started playing FFXIV, I felt as if the villain I was facing wasn't some hooded malevolent figure, or some manner of BBEG, but... Someone like us. Belying his ascian nature, he's one of the most human characters I had the pleasure of experiencing in this game thus far, and he definitely carried 5.0 as a whole upon his shoulders. I just miss him a lot, especially with the villains we're having to move forward with into 6.0.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
While I do not personally ship it, I find WoLxEmet to honestly be pretty cute considering the lore behind it, but...
My non-romantic OTP for this character
...IDK what it is about the prospect of the WoL and Emet being the absolute most platonic of bros that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. It's especially heartbreaking, then, having Emet see us as just a fractured remnant of what we once were, the warm smile we used to send his way morphing into a hardened grimace. It's then that he realizes just how much has changed, and how much he wished he could have stopped such a thing.
My unpopular opinion about this character
...I don't think he's hot, I'm sorry. I'd give him a platonic side hug at most, but god, he looks like a funky grandpa to me, and that's definitely not my type.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I'm quite pleased with how Emet was handled inside of SHB, though if I were to wish my pipe dreams came true, perhaps just a longer and more personal dive into Emet's life before the Final Days would be excellent. And with my 6.0 crack theories, I think we might be getting that :).
Tumblr media
(not a gif, sadly. Couldn't find one for Lyna ;;)
How I feel about this character
Ah, god... I can't look at Lyna without feeling tears well up in my eyes. So strong and determined, yet unable to fully deny the human core that makes them whole. Her life has been filled with abrupt goodbyes, and we last left off with her having to say it once again to the man who raised her; however, this time, it was with a smile. Honestly, for a side character, she feels quite a bit more compelling than a few of the main characters we were given in expansions past, and I honestly love that for her. What really got me attached to her as a character was obviously the scene in which you slowly see her brave facade crumble, showing the most honest and ugliest of emotions she's pent up for years. And the great thing is... That could apply to multiple scenes. Lyna, as well as much of the SHB cast is among my favorite if not for the sole purpose of how human they feel.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
None, tbh.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
I think it'd be adorable if Lyna were to grow close to both Ryne and Gaia, especially after the party in the Crystarium that the latter two were planning. All three of them have gone through the pain of loss, but have faced the music and decided to press ever onwards. Just imagine all of the tea outings the three of them could enjoy!
My unpopular opinion about this character
I don't think I have one? maybe on a design basis, which extends to FF females in general, but... GIVE LYNA PANTS YOU COWARDS!
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Seeing as she got quite a lot already as a side character, I don't have many wishes on this front. But, if I were to stretch a bit to think of something, maybe, in some distant future, we can have a 'check up' back on the First, and we can see how Lyna has been handling things without the Exarch by her side.
Thank ya for the ask @sundered-souls~ Was fun talking about characters I genuinely enjoy, though I'm much better at expressing this love through inane ramblings over voice chat lol.

toffee!
ah yeah, i think quarentine has given people some opportunity to actually just sit with the person they are, rather than be rushing around for the person they want to become. its good you got smth good out of isolation! ah thats great! hope you had fun and ur partner in crime speeds back home so you can get out more hehe.
ah yeah ty, good suggestions.
hmm good point, i was sort of putting it separate to the whole not-sexualising thing, but yeah. mmm yeah i totally agree, some of the enhypen fics/imagines *shudder* and even reading innie stuff is just a bit *icky* cos everyone still thinks of him as our agi ppang. yeah def would be good but sadly this just seems to be the world we live in. :(
ah yes the holy masterlist (not sarc) i have actually read in the rain and gladius maximus before, but ill go look for in class! oooh thats good! character development lol. hmmmm yes champagne problems was the angst to end all angst, that shit hurt. it was actually one of the first of your fics i read and i recall almost crying over the whole thing, it was so heartbreaking, i can see how it almost made you want to drop angst. good that youve allowed yourself some lee-way tho :)
hehe thats so cool. okay here we go, ill try not to be mortally offended (/hj)
cheese - yes same, i liked it but that was all there was, it wasnt a super standout track. it was rlly underwhelming for me but some of the hook is super catchy so there is Redemption (tm) in store for cheese maybe
thunderous - mmm, yeah at first i totally agreed, i think they suffer from too much good music syndrome, that all their other tracks are such fucking bops its hard to stay at that level of perfection. the choreo was beautiful tho and tbh, the track has grown on me since ive been watching all the vids abt it. its my brothers favourite track
domino - YES GODAMMIT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE TITLE TRACK. the raps, the vocals, the vibes, the fucking domino sound in the back? i would have streamed that shit on repeat. but tbh, as good as it is, it doesnt have that sort of grandness/oomph that skz seems to like in their title tracks so i can see why they chose thunderous (tho domino would have been so good) *sigh*
ssick - yeah same, not my fave track by a long mile, the crowd cheering was a ?strange? choice and the chorus was a bit bare/empty, plus like i mentioned earlier, it was kinda funny to me for some reason but ill still play it if im playing thru the whole album
the view - ahh one of those not like other girls (/j) i honestly think its just a good party song, just a bop to play in the background when nobodys rlly paying much attention. its pretty generic pop music but catchy
sorry, i love you - hehe yeah i thought it was going to be sadder as well, but i rlly loved the fact that they all just got to sing, which almost never happens, i dont think ive heard felix sing for a long time, so i enjoyed it. wasnt rlly a standout track but i just casually like it. looking forward to the fic haha
silent cry - this song i swear, some bits are rlly good and then others are just? why?? it does sound like a dance song tho idk. definitely not one of my faves either
secret secret - YES its so good! its such a chill song and i love their vocals in it. the combination of lo-fi/fake strings backup stuff and their heavenly vocals just makes it *chefs kiss* im listening to it rn and just... its so beautiful. it gives me pumped up another day vibes ya know? like my pace is edgy get cool, this one is energetic another day i feel like. overall i love it
STAR LOST - ah thats so cool! i didnt know that! on first listen this song had a similar vibe to secret secret but then the beat came in and ahh its such a good song. i can totally imagine them putting this song to a concert footage vid, this song is so sweet.
red lights - LMAO YES ITS SO AWKWARD WHY DOES IT GO ON FOR SO LONG ah thats good! yeah good point, its quite intense hehe. but that is my fave trope and this is lowkey my favourite track on the album so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just the combination of hyunjins and chans voices, the backing music, the lyrics ahh red lights my beloved
surfin’ - yes lmao its always a shock, i feel like they should have put gone away in between them, but its such a fun cute song, i cant get rlly mad. yeah, as an aussie i think im contractually obligated to like beaches lol. sand im not such a fan of, but my familys rlly into fishing and my brother loves bodyboarding so we stay at a beach house at least twice a year and we live like 5 mins from 3 different beaches (hehe all aussie cities are on the coast lol) so thats cool. do you like beaches?
gone away - ah gone away my beloved, i love this song sm, its just so pure and showcases their vocals and lyrics so well. yes the pitch change is very out of the blue, i feel liek they went directly from seungmins soft vocals to hans powerful ones which was an interesting choice, but hey, im not complaining
wolfgang - YES IKR ah im so happy he got to be included in that era and song. yeah its such a full on song i cant rlly listen to it if im in a quiet mood but its very motivating :)
hehe mood, i hope they do! ahhh no rest, but at least you wont have to pull a blink and wait a year for any word from the group lol. im not rlly into nct but im excited for them! ah hopefully youll be able to sneak some rest into that chaotic schedule, with enhypen (idk if u stan but yeah) squeezed into it haha
<3 w.a. 🐺
i wheezed at partner in crime, it reminded me of smth. i have a lee know fic in the drafts that i wrote 'in honor' of him (and his departure-ish). i'll tag you when i finish it, if you want. it's a rather hilarious one.
oh my god. based on my experience on the collabs i've joined before, writing explicit shit for '01 & '02 is not accepted (nct's maknaes) but with enha's hyung line '01 & '02 somehow it's okay? i do a double take every time i see fics like those i mean, technically, it's legal but still what the fuck. maybe it's just not for me at the moment. not at us venting our frustration about this. it's just something that's so accepted here that i am (in all honesty) slightly uncomfortable about. but oh well. that's kpop writerblr for you.
man i could've linked all the fics in the ask instead so you wouldn't have to go looking for them! i think i saw you like in class the other day (the fic i renamed into sharp-tongued, god it took me a while to remember the new title). describing champagne problems as an angst to end all angst is one way to put what i was feeling back in december. it just hurt to write and admit?? if that ever happened to me i would prolly cry :d
okay back to the album talk! i love how you answered with more thoughts. i love exchanges like these! i am a victim of the cheese hook and it's now one of my favorite tracks in the album. PLS, TOO MUCH GOOD MUSIC SYNDROME. that's on our self-producing kings 😌💅 also, your brother has taste! as i am typing this, domino's currently playing in my head and i realized that too, that it doesn't have that 'vibe' of a skz title track. honestly, this could be a title track of another group. ssick is starting to grown on me because i found the beats cool kdjsk not the not like other girls 😭 the view is the generic pop that i don't like but i get why a lot of people enjoy it. sorry i love you scratches a certain itch that i find myself singing the first few lines every time i remember it. i too would want to hear felix sing more!
> a mini junction on the album talk bc i got side tracked. on that topic, i want skz to switch positions at some point like i know those allrounders are capable of doing so. specifically, i want to hear seungmin rap!!!! (yk in the recent weekly idol he talked faster than changbin in a challenge and changbin is like the fastest rapper in kpop that's active atm if im not mistaken. my dandy boy has some potential and i want it UNLEASHED.)
back to album talk. silent cry is basically sad music to twerk to. secret secret is definitely one of my favorite tracks :( i loved how you compared the tracks HAJSAH i burst out laughing bc yk what, you're right! i want to make a star lost edit of skz but i simply do not have the time i want to cry. i love the song so much. ok, my dreaded track, red lights. idt i have played the track since we last talked. my friend sent me the lyrics tho and i'm itching to write a twisted au out of it. idk if you're comfortable with yandere but somewhere along those themes. the obsessive type of love that's sweet at first but turns rotten. IMAGINE IF THEY PUT GONE AWAY BETWEEN ASHJA it's like going from 50 shades to the notebook.
i was about to ask if you lived near the coast and you literally mentions it here god im so stupid. yes i LOOOOOOOOOVE beaches so much. living in an archipelago is fun :( i live in a part of the country that's more island than city so every time i want some vitamin sea it's accessible. i heard the waves in australia are great :( anYWHOOO gone away :(( every time it plays im compelled to skip it because it makes me sAD AND NOWADAYS I DONT HAVE THE TIME TO BE SAD. contrary to you, i dislike my quiet moods because i tend to overthink a lot.
i have this little analogy about how there are stays that enjoy songs the generic pop + mellow songs and then there are other stays that enjoy the noisy tracks. in my mind, it's like a perfect balance that makes me feel like all the tracks are loved in the end. just by different people.
PULL A BLINK. bro i fucking hate yg entertainment. they have the biggest kpop girl group LOCKED in their basement when they could be (and i mean this in the most business-like way not morally) milking money of the quad. they're yg's biggest hope at not being bankrupt atm so it's a damn fucking mystery to me as to how they aren't doing anything. (jk i just realized lisa solo album soon, but i still need a ot4 cb hELLO)
i stopped looking forward to the teasers. rest > kpop boys. i don't want to sound like a cult member but have you tried checking out nct? are they just not your thing? (i get it tho, that's one hard group to get into). and yes i do stan enhypen!
wow i love how long these asks are! they're like online penpals. but i also want to ask about you! how have you been lately? are you feeling okay both mentally and physically? how's the weather there? do you have anything that you want to talk about? maybe an interesting book you read? feel free to bring up anything you want to share! i'm getting conscious about talking about myself HAJHSJ
and yet another long answer B) i am sooo sorry T___T should these ask exchanges feel draining to you, feel free to stop sending them in AAAA

Hey! It's the one who wanted fanfiction writing advice and how to sorta join the fandom. So, I am currently writing a werewolf! au for Gwenvid, and I was wondering if I could ask you something (well, multiple somethings lol)? One, what are things you would like to see in a Gwenvid fic? Two, do you have any advice for writing a good first chapter? Mine is kind of short and not too good, but yours are super good. Three, how would Gwen react to becoming a werewolf? Scared or excited? Thanks!
Oooh, fun! I don’t know if I’m the best authority on this, but I think I have a couple followers who might also have some good insights. Let’s see . . .
Things I personally go feral for in Gwenvid fics:
That UST. Pining, longing, yearning -- whatever you wanna call it, all those little glances at each other then looking away when they get caught staring, getting distracted by a brush of skin against theirs or the other one looking amazing just out of nowhere, standing too close without realizing it and then awkwardly coughing and backing away . . . all of it. These two goobers in love with each other and completely oblivious is just . . . idk, it’s obviously personal preference, but that will-they-won’t-they dance is one of my favorite things about pre-established-relationship Gwenvid, and something I never get tired of. (Also, just saying: werewolf transformations have the distinct side effect of the werewolf waking up partially or completely naked in the forest. It’s a scenario ripe for awkward and/or hilarious situations.)
If they’re in an established relationship already, it’s all about those little domestic things. I mean, there can be domestic things even before they’re dating, because they live together for like 3-4 months out of the year so they have a routine going, but things like one of them keeping the light on for the other without thinking, making coffee/tea and leaving everything laid out just the way the other one likes it, communicating (or even arguing) with just a look, all the casual lil touches of two people so comfortable with each other that it’s automatic at this point. It’s an essential part of fluff that I sometimes feel is overlooked in favor of more dramatic hurt/comfort (which is also excellent, to be clear).
BANTER! It’s not so much a canon thing as a fanon one, but the artist formerly known as Ciphernetics basically established flirty teasing and back-and-forth as a staple of Gwenvid’s charm in their earth-shatteringly beautiful fanfiction (that I can’t link because tumblr softblocks posts with links, but if you look at my blog for like 10 seconds you’ll be able to figure out what I’m talking about), and I think everyone’s writing, including my own, needs more banter. They’re so different, after all; why not have them butt heads in a fun way?
Please please please don’t do NSFW if you’re uncomfortable with it, but there is nowhere near enough of it in Gwenvid-land. Just because we’re wholesome doesn’t mean we can’t also be kinky! (Oh man, I just realized I have no idea how old you are. Uhhhh if you’re not an adult just skip this one on by! Or if you are an adult and this ain’t it. It’s like it wasn’t ever here! Poof! I should probably just delete this, but maybe it’ll awaken a spark of inspiration in someone. Lord knows I haven’t been driving the smut train for a while, so I’m just hoping someone else will do my job for me. Plus Gwen would want me to include this suggestion, especially if there are werewolves involved.)
You know, there’s not a lot of action-hero Gwenvid out there, is there? Most of it’s relationship melodrama and domestic fluff, which I love -- obviously, I write it literally all the time -- but with a werewolf AU you have the opportunity for gratuitous violence, and both David and Gwen have proven they can kick a whole lot of ass and deal out (or take) a lot of pain. If you need two people fighting monsters -- or fighting as monsters -- you could do a lot worse than those two. It’d be a fun change of pace that’d work well with their character dynamic.
Writing a first chapter:
I don’t have a ton of advice here that isn’t pretty common, but the biggest thing is to start in the middle of action. This can range in terms of drama: a camp activity going horribly wrong, a nightmare, maybe even David discovering Gwen’s a werewolf. Your story doesn’t have to go in chronological order, after all, so if you have to backtrack in later scenes or chapters that’s not a bad thing in the slightest!
It’s much better to start with a really exciting, gripping situation and then backfill in the information that matters than starting off with all that boring worldbuilding and exposition. Don’t get me wrong, that worldbuilding and exposition are necessary, but they’re also like . . . I dunno, salt. It’s essential to the recipe, but no one would say it’s their favorite part of a meal, and having to eat a whole pile of it before they get to the good stuff wouldn’t be enjoyable at all. It’s better sprinkled throughout to add flavor to your story as needed.
I like that metaphor! It’s kinda cliche, but I think it still gets the job done.
So yeah, start with something exciting and know it’s okay for your readers to go, “wait, what the fuck’s going on?” That’s kind of a great thing, actually; it establishes mystery and introduces higher stakes, and just gets your readers going. It’s also more fun to write, which is good! (For example, I just read a really great book call The Chill, which opened with a woman tying a bag over her head, weighting herself down with chains, and throwing herself into a river to “join the work.” Who is this person? What work? Did she know she was going to die -- it definitely doesn’t feel like a suicide, but what else did she think was going to happen?? I’m instantly on board, even if the next few scenes were focused on establishing exposition and actually kinda boring. It’s all about that hook.)
To be fair: I don’t do this all that often in my own fics. For every “starting the story with a botched assassination attempt,” we have “starting the story with waking up.” It’s important to have a first chapter that matches and sets the tone of your story; if it’s going to be a rip-roaring action/horror adventure, you’re going to want to start things off with all that stuff I mentioned before. If you’re writing cute fluff, there’s nothing wrong with your in media res chapter opening being an adorable fluffy scene. Compelling doesn’t have to mean scary or action-packed, but more serve as a teaser for what the rest of the story is going to bring. I’ve been leaning on action or thriller stuff because a werewolf AU implies some level of creature-feature monster spookiness, but any tone works as the start of a fic, as long as it’s not “here’s a laundry list of the universe’s rules,” because that’s boring and you can weave that into the rest of your story later.
As for your other comment, short isn’t bad at all; in fact, if you want to make your first chapter a really short, compelling scene, that can be a great way to draw people in. But I also am a proponent of writing until it’s done, and couldn’t stick to a page or word count to save my life. My chapters are all over the place, and sometimes I’ll randomly chop them up if I feel like it’s going too long but usually I don’t bother. The more you write, the more you develop a feel for when the story, chapter, or scene needs to end, but as you’re starting out you might wanna snag a beta to help you find that stopping place.
Wow, this is long! Awkward! Sorry about that! I’ll make this last one short:
Gwen the werewolf:
I can’t imagine any universe in which she isn’t psyched as hell. I think she desperately wants to be more special and important than she is, and having a sexy monster superpower would only be a good thing to her, regardless of whatever its drawbacks may be. She might get tired of certain aspects of being a werewolf as the honeymoon phase wears off, but in the beginning I think she’d be excited and maybe even relieved.
Anyway, I hope that helps! It’s a lot of rambling, but I imagine you’re used to that by now. :)

The Best and Worst Things About Each MCU Movie
These are all just my stinky opinions. You are allowed to disagree, you are allowed to agree. Most of these are jokes anyway. I’m honestly just happy you’re reading this. Minor Spoilers Ahead!
Iron Man (2008) -
Best: This movie almost perfectly sets the tone for the entire universe that has at that point yet to have been created. Looking back, you can imagine the feeling of “Where are they going to go from here?” and I think that’s one of the most important things that this movie needed to accomplish.
Worst: What the fuck is Jeff Bridges doing? What’s his endgame here? I get he’s trying to take over Stark Industries but how’s he gonna do that from inside that giant metal suit he uses to kill people inside their cars?
Incredible Hulk (2008) -
Best: Tim Roth is in it and I think that is pretty cool.
Worst: I haven’t actually seen it, but the cgi looks god awful, what the hell.
Iron Man 2 (2010) -
Best: Sam Rockwell is so goddamn annoying in this movie and I think that’s amazing, he’s such a little stinker.
Worst: I remember basically nothing else about this movie except some guy talking about birds, idk.
Thor (2011) -
Best: It introduces Loki, probably one of the most beloved villains in the entire franchise.
Worst: This movie is so goddamn boring and it’s my least favorite and I hate it. Don’t @ me.
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) -
Best: The first good chunk of this movie is actually a really compelling character study on Steve Rogers and what makes him a good man. Seeing him basically being paraded as this propaganda figure and watching him struggle with this is one of the most compelling things about him as a person. Really wish they kept this up for the entire movie.
Worst: The red skull is really boring guys. He’s red, that’s it. Give me something else to work with man.
Marvel’s The Avengers (2012) -
Best: This movie proved that you can have a superhero team up with this many people and have it fucking work. It doesn’t matter if you hate or love this movie, you cannot deny the effects it has on the genre.
Worst: It’s shot like a bad CW show. It looks so ugly.
Iron Man 3 (2013)
Best: This one is actually my favorite of the bunch. Exploring the question of what makes Iron Man, the suit or the person, is shown really well here. I thoroughly dig it.
Worst: That scene where Harley flip flops about whether or not he really knows Tony makes me so irrationally angry.
Thor: The Dark World (2013)
Best: It’s slightly better than Thor, and I actually can feel myself start to have a good time whenever Loki’s on screen.
Worst: Once again, this movie is insanely forgettable. Christopher fucking Eccleston is in this movie and I could not tell you a single thing about this character.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) -
Best: This movie has one of the best hand-to-hand fight scenes in the entire MCU. You know the one I’m talking about. It gives me chills, I love it.
Worst: Having the government stand-in that Steve questions in the beginning of the movie actually be a front for N*zis that he can just beat up, and not an actual metaphor for the issues with the government today? You ain’t slick.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 1 (2014) -
Best: This is the mcu movie basically anyone can enjoy. Anybody can watch this movie and find something to love about it. The characters, the messages about family and learning to be okay with feeling love, the jokes, hell, even the space setting. THE MUSIC. It’s the full package baby.
Worst: Chris Pratt has an unfortunate cameo in this one.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) -
Best: I have a couple of things. A) The party scene where we get to watch the Avengers talk and be friends with each other and act like people. B) I love James Spader no matter what he is doing.
Worst: Why is everyone quipping? Why is the robot quipping? Why would they massacre my boy like that?
Ant-man (2015) -
Best: I want Paul Rudd to marry me, best dad in the mcu.
Worst: The moment Edgar Wright left this project.
Captain America: Civil War (2016) -
Best: Introduces two great characters, Spider-man and Black Panther. These two get a lot of love when it comes to designing their characters in this movie and it makes me very happy.
Worst: It made the fandom very unhappy and I don’t like picking sides. It feels like watching your many parents get divorced for two hours.
Doctor Strange (2016) -
Best: The magic looks really fucking cool in this movie. Also, the ending with Dormammu is up there for one of my favorite endings of an mcu movie. Having Doctor Strange actually outsmart the villain instead of actually fighting him is endlessly more satisfying.
Worst: Could not tell you a thing else about this movie other than I heard Tilda Swinton plays a character that’s probably not supposed to be white.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) -
Best: Guys, I gotta come clean about something. I actually like this one better than Volume 1. I know, I know, a good majority of people do not feel this way, but I feel a lot more emotionally attached to the movie, and that’s mainly because of two characters: Yondu Udonta and Rocket Racoon. Rocket realizing that he’s an asshole but his found family still loves him gets me, man. I can’t help it. Helps that Ego is a great villain as well. Also the cinematography is some of the best in the mcu.
Worst:  No Howard the Duck.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) -
Best: I think the best thing about this movie is just the solidness of it all. No one part stands out as the best because most everything about this movie is pretty damn good. Michael Keaton will knock your socks off, go watch it.
Worst: Donald Glover is in it to tease a Miles Morales reveal, BUT NOTHING HAS HAPPENED ABOUT IT SINCE.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017) -
Best: Taika Waititi knows how to do shit right, lemme tell ya. Taking away Thor’s hammer from the beginning was probably one of the smartest choices in the movie, and this is a movie of smart choices.
Worst: Jeff Goldblum isn’t in it more.
Black Panther (2018) -
Best: Erik Killmonger is easily the best villain in a Marvel movie, and you can quote me on that. An amazing performance from Michael B. Jordan. It’s also the first Marvel movie I saw in theatres (I know, I was very late to the game)
Worst: Everett K. Ross is CIA propaganda and the last fight scene on the train tracks looks like shit.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018) -
Best: It’s really hard to sum up exactly what my thoughts are on this movie. I think one of the movie’s best qualities is the bigness of it. This movie feels huge, there’s a lot of different stuff to love here. If you like Wakanda, there’s a whole epic battle set in Wakanda. If you’re more a fan of the space stuff, we got a whole lotta space stuff. The best part of this movie is there’s probably gonna be something that everyone can enjoy packed in here.
Worst: I also think the bigness of this movie is also one of it’s larger weaknesses. Because there’s so much stuff in this movie, not all of it is fully fleshed out. Tony Stark gets a lot to do in this movie, but Steve Rogers sort of feels sidelined at parts. There’s a perfect balance that I don’t think was quite hit.
Ant-man and The Wasp (2018) -
Best: I still really love Paul Rudd in this movie, and I think his relationship with Cassie is still really cute. World’s Greatest Grandma indeed.
Worst: This movie really had its work cut out for itself, coming off the heels of Infinity War, so it sort of falls short in that respect. I don’t want to criticize it too harshly, it is what it is, nothing insanely memorable.
Captain Marvel (2019) -
Best: I still think this is a pretty good movie, despite what a lot of people think. I struggle a lot with believing that I have to prove myself to others, so having Carol finally realize that she doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone was really important to me, and probably a lot of other women.
Worst: There were parts where I wasn’t as engaged, like the scenes in the Kree empire. That made some of the movie feel off to me, it’s a bit unbalanced.
Avengers: Endgame (2019) -
Best: This movie 100% achieves what it sets out to do, and that is to be a huge cinematic event. I don’t even really see this movie as a movie, it’s more like one huge experience. My viewing had one of the most energetic crowds I’ve ever seen a movie with.
Worst: I don’t really think this movie holds up to multiple re-watches. Granted, I saw it in theatres three times. I don’t think any subsequent viewings are ever going to pack that same punch that my first viewing had, and that makes it harder to come back to. Also Steve had a totally lame ending.
Spider-man: Far From Home (2019) -
Best: After ending on such a downer note in the last movie, this felt like a weight being lifted off my chest. Jake Gyllenhaal gives an insanely energetic performance that I absolutely adore. (Also seeing it with my dad was fun, he would nudge me every time they switched locations to tell me he’d been there)(Also when I saw it with my sibling a kid ran out of the theatre during the Mysterio mind-fuck sequence, some just can’t handle that lifestyle)
Worst: Peter Parker and MJ remind me of how perpetually single I am.

Your Shape.
notes: never in my life thought i’d write an original thing again, but i had a lot of fun!!! i was feeling super overwhelmed and decided to put my maladaptive daydream about a meet-cute with a mysterious entity in a forest into words. rating: teen, we stay tame in these woods pairing: mysterious entity boyfriend idk / reader word count: 3,286
The shape in the forest wants to know if you are warm enough. Moonlight falls over the crown of your head, so yellow and full as to be a parody of sunshine. This late in September, with the harvest coming soon, it is easy to confuse the two.
But the shape does not ask, he does not want to scare you. Your shoulders are slouched, cheeks pressed to your palms to hide tears and sobs. He wants to know if you are unhappy, too. He imagines you have already given him a fair answer, despite not having spoken at all.
A dirt-caked hand curls around the trunk of a tree. The shape leans out of the dark, eyes aglow and horns in danger of bumping on a branch overhead. He ducks a bit, takes a careful step forward. If he were anyone else, the twig under his foot might have snapped and made a sound. But there is an understanding between them, an old promise. The only noise in the night is of your crying.
“It’s too much,” you whisper, half-wailing around the air being pushed from your lungs. You press a hand over your mouth and for a moment, all is quiet.
The shape decides he does not like that at all. You are unhappy, he’s sure of it, so why not express it?
“What is?” he asks, compelled to speak when before he had stayed silent. You were not crying before, he rations. You did not need help then as you do now.
You turn at the sound of his voice, it is as cold and as full as the moon in the sky. It belongs there, that voice, between the trees. You peer into the dark, not afraid of what might be speaking, but why. Creatures are not uncommon, it is their motivations you have been taught to fear.
A breeze picks up, pushing cool air at your hot cheeks. The feeling is almost pleasant, it’s accompanied by the sound of rustling leaves. Or perhaps of footsteps from your newfound companion.
He does not walk as a human might, though he is shaped like one. With the grass, too, he has an understanding and his gait is as noiseless and natural as the way that he speaks. You stare up, up, up at him, craning your neck until you find his face.
It is a handsome face, which does not immediately set you at ease. You see the outline of his head and shoulders, framed by two horns extending back against the starlit sky. But the rest of him is a mystery. It disappears into the shadows that knit in a circle around the glade.
“Everything,” you answer with honesty, for it is the best policy.
“I can understand, then, why you are upset,” he replies.
Your sweater scratches your cheeks as you wipe away tears. But you are very careful to keep one eye open and fixed on the shape, the visitor. It is not very smart to do more than blink in their company.
Still, you make noise. Soft sounds of life, of breath as you try to stifle sobs. Crying gets you nowhere, you remember, especially not with an audience.
“How long have you been watching me?” you ask, careful not to sound accusatory. You are not accusing him of anything, you are only curious.
“I did not mean to infringe on your privacy,” he returns.
“This forest is your home,” you reason. The shape gives a slow shake of his horned head.
“It is home to everyone,” he says, “especially to those who need somewhere safe to cry.”
“Thank you,” you nod, “but have not answered me.”
“Longer than you would be comfortable with,” he replies, “I am sorry.”
“That’s a little vague,” you say.
“Not to me,” he says, “I have seen you here before. Not often, but I have.”
“Oh,” you pass your sleeve over your left eye once more, “I meant tonight, but I appreciate the truth.”
It’s becoming easier to control the way your chest moves. The compulsive need to breathe quickly slows with your heart rate. You are not calm, but you are managing.
“You looked happy before,” he says, “the last time you were here.”
“The last time I was here, things were---” you sigh, dropping your hand and your head. Though you remember very suddenly the dangers of doing so. But when your eyes return quickly to the shape’s again, you notice no change in his appearance. “They were different.”
“They were better?” he asks. Defeated, you nod.
“I am so tired,” you let out a slow breath.
“If you slept here,” he begins, “no one else would bother you. That is a promise.”
“And you keep your promises,” you state, knowing better than to insult him by phrasing that as a question.
“I do,” he says, “the grass is comfortable, the trees keep out most of the rain. Every night I have known life, I have spent it on the floor of a forest.”
“That sounds nice,” you admit. But you are not so foolish as to blindly trust visitors. “I don’t want to go home.”
“Is it very difficult to be there?” he cocks his head to the side, the moonlight falling on a sharp cheekbone. A shadow pools there, you stare with more curiosity than perhaps you ought. The shape doesn’t seem to mind.
“It is,” you reply, “it’s quite lonely, too. Even when I’m spoken to, I feel alone.”
The visitor hums, the sound like the wind against tree boughs. Could he understand?
“I am here,” he says, “for what it is worth.”
You pause, considering his eyes that have not left yours once. Not even to blink. They are a strange colour, glassy but focused very intently on the curve of your face. They look, you consider, like the yellow moon that hangs so close to the edge of the forest.
Round and wide and curious, he stares at you. Not as one might stare at an insect, but as an interesting person.
“So am I,” you reply. And a hesitant smile of your own joins his.
“You have family,” he says, “friends who love you?” and the question at the end cuts like a knife.
“I have nobody,” you say, “though a few would likely search for me. It would be out of habit.”
“Habit?” he asks.
“Because I would do the same for them,” you explain, “my friends and I look after each other. But we’re not very close.”
“You need not be afraid of me,” he says. And that otherworldly smile returns, but it does little to dissuade the butterflies in your stomach.
The shape moves a bit closer, until only his horns are silhouetted against the inky sky. You can see him a bit better, though his lower body still remains a mystery.
You find yourself looking closely at his hands, searching the dirt and grass stains for signs of blood or cruelty. You find neither.
“I am not afraid,” you say, following a shiver.
“Yes, you are,” he says, “I am sorry. I frighten people, I know. But you need not reassure me that you shall be looked for.”
“Force of habit,” you say, “I’ve been told stories all my life, advised to be careful about what I say to visitors.”
“I understand. It is wise for you to follow that advice, but I will not hurt you,” he says.
“And you keep your promises,” you repeat, the smile once again curling on the corners of your mouth.
He surprises you with a laugh, the sound fills your chest even by proxy. As full and soft as his voice, the shape’s laugh makes you feel whole. It isn’t cold any more, you realize. A familiarity blooms in the way he speaks to you already. Perhaps he truly does understand the need for companionship.
You shift a little on the log, deciding to believe him. Not trust, not yet, but to believe.
“I am afraid, but I’m not scared of you,” you say, “would you sit?”
“Can you be both at the same time?” he asks, though he starts forward towards where you are. You’ve straightened up, your cheeks have dried. That pleases him.
“I am afraid of what would hurt me, of the stories I’ve been told. But you are not like the stories, are you?” you ask. The shape slowly shakes his head. He sinks down beside you, with not a creak from the wood beneath.
“I try not to be,” he admits.
“The woods are lovely,” you say, “I cannot blame visitors for wishing to protect them. It should be protected.”
“But not from you,” he replies, “remember, this is also your home.”
“I never thought of it like that,” you confess.
“Perhaps not, but you do choose to come here every so often. Why?” he cocks his head to the side again, a strand of dark hair falls over his shoulder, having come loose from where it was gathered into a low plait at the back of his neck.
“No one knows me here,” you say, “except for you. And don’t apologize, I don’t dislike that.”
“You do not?” he straightens his neck again. His eyes widen a fraction, as does your smile.
“I forgive you for watching me. I know you meant no harm,” and the visitor nods. “I come here because I am unknown, I can be myself. I have no obligations here. The sounds and sights are never too much, the moonlight is never too bright.”
“Elsewhere you feel overwhelmed,” the shape summarizes. You nod.
“Precisely. And I sit on that feeling until I have no choice but to cry,” it is harder to admit out loud than you like. But in his bright, yellow eyes you find some form of agreement.
He really is quite handsome, you note the longer you’re allowed to look. And though you are less worried about when to blink around him, you find no evidence to suggest he is changing his shape. You suppose that a visitor with ill intent, looking to ensnare a foolish human would choose a less challenging mask.
The visitor is not quite right, unearthly as his beauty may be. His unbroken stare is a colour no mortal thing could ever have. His hair is braided, yes, but this close you can tell a brush has never touched it. What you can see of his ears is sharply triangular at the ends, rather than rounded. Dirt and dust are caked under his fingernails, you wonder if he might be a gravedigger.
But no blood, nor memory of blood pools at the corners of his thin mouth. His lips are not tinged with pale blue the way corpses are. While he is wan and waxy, he does not carry the chill that wraps around you. He may not be fully separate from the night, but he does not seem to belong to it.
“Who are you?” you ask. You’ve spoken at length about your sadness, but it has never felt so far away as it does now. The shape’s smile falters for just a moment.
“I am not certain,” he replies.
“You and me both,” you try to find his grin again, giving him your own so that he will not worry. “I only ask because---”
“Because there is something sinister about me,” he finishes. And he nods, as if he has heard it before. His head dips a fraction, turning from you. All the better see the horns that sprout from it.
They are long and black as his hair, arching back from his brow. They curve, just once and end in a delicate point. And yet he moves as if they are barely a hindrance, with grace that would accompany experience.
“Quite the opposite,” you reply, “I have never heard of anyone like you.”
“I am not a gravedigger,” he replies, “and I am not a monster.”
“No,” you agree, “you don’t eat people, living or dead?”
He curls his lip in disgust rather than answering, it makes you choke on a small giggle. The shape turns back to you, as confused by the sound as you were when he laughed. There is similar awe in his face.
“Then you could be a forest spirit,” you try, “that would make sense.”
“It is possible,” he concedes, “but I do not know. I have been alone for as long as I can remember.”
“That’s so sad,” you speak without thinking, usually a dangerous game. But the shape is unoffended by the obvious pity in your voice. You’ve given him plenty to pity you for, after all. “Do you speak to other people in the forest very often?”
“I have, but never frequently,” he replies. You still do not trust him, but his slight anxiety appears to match your own. As much as he belongs here, it appears he is not sure if he belongs here with you.
He stays a safe distance from you on the log, you shift a little closer. Though your cheeks still sting and the whites of your eyes are still red, you feel less lost in your misery. Less alone.
“I wish I never had to leave,” you sigh, “I could sit in this glade and watch the sky move forever and ever.”
“I have done so,” he says, “it is a very good way to spend one’s time. I enjoy it.”
You trust that to be right, at least. Still, for all his flawless strangeness and otherworldly beauty, he seems very lonely. He’s unhappy.
“I wish---” you start, but cut yourself off.
“I could steal you,” he says, so suddenly that you wonder how long he’s been holding it back.
“Steal me?” you ask, turing to the shape with an arched brow. But you do not, in fact, sound repulsed.
“You would not have to return home if I did. You could stay here,” he reasons. Taken aback, you smile for the confusion.
“Have you stolen many people?” you ask.
“No,” he says with a firm shake of his head.
“Is it a great honour?” a teasing tone creeps into your voice, your smile turning impish. The visitor smiles too, as if your joy gives him joy by proxy.
“I think it would be my honour, as you would be my guest,” he explains.
“But why take me?” you ask, resisting the urge to dismiss this completely as some sort of joke.
“So that you will not cry,” he says. And the faraway solemness in his voice stuns you to silence for a moment.
“Lots of people cry, lots of people are afraid,” you try. He shakes his head.
“But you are here, I am here. Your home is here,” he says. You make a sound, like a sob but softer and more amused. Bewildered.
“Is it allowed?” you know the rules in part, never to accept food from visitors or stay too long. But he isn’t like the creatures in your grandmother’s stories. And if he is, you might be willing to take the risk. Going home with this exchange behind you feels wrong.
“I do not know, I have never offered before,” he admits. You give a slow sigh.
“Are you afraid? There may be consequences,” you try to rationalize why it could never be, and the way his face falls is heartbreaking.
“I am lonely,” he confirms, “nothing else.”
“I was worried you were,” you say. You look at him, horns and all in the moonlight. You dip your head and try to catch his big, yellow eyes. He looks back with no hesitation, like he was hoping for you.
“So, will you stay with me?” your visitor asks. His face softens, more vulnerable now than you’ve seen before. And you thought you had known it all. If this is a lie, you might like to be lied to.
“Right here?” you say, foolishly. His reedy laugh fills your chest again.
“Perhaps not only here, not all the time,” he replies, still looking happy. “I could take you to the places that I like best.”
“I wouldn’t mind staying in the forest,” you consider, pulling your eyes away. The circle of woods around you feels far bigger than before, more free and ready to explore. There is excitement under your tongue.
Your visitor hears it, he leans in just a bit with your back turned. He couldn’t help it if he wanted to, his mind is already pushing against the confines of his skull. It’s such an old mind, such an old skull. And it has been too long since another voice occupied it the way that yours does.
When you look back to him, you are not afraid. He watches your face very intently, ready to see fear or watery sadness return. He dreads both,  he cannot stop himself from saying,
“And I would not mind your staying, say that you will,” your visitor does not know if he has breath the way humans do, but you have taken his. It will be so hard to part with if you decline.
To his immortal joy, you lean in a little closer as well. Your shoulders slouch, you relax.
“Where is your most favourite place?” you ask, distracting him from the clutter of his desperation for a moment.
“Along the bank of the mirror pond, it is not far due east from here,” he replies. It is hard not to smile when thinking of it. The perfect circle of still water, flanked by willow trees and daisy clusters. You might like it there.
“I haven’t been swimming since I was a little girl,” you admit. It’s almost sheepish, embarrassed that such a mundane joy has evaded you.
“You could again,” he suggests, brightening further. Until your visitor’s enthusiasm is dulled by his own hand, worried at reminding you of whatever dreadful situation you’ve come from. “But I would not make you.”
“Do you promise?” you cock your head to the side this time, tilting your head back a fraction to appreciate the full length of his horns.
“I do,” he insists. He would like to have an understanding with you, to understand you. The grass can keep his promises, but it never speaks back.
Your visitor looks so hopeful, you’re shocked by the realization that it may be mirrored on your own face. You are just as desperate, searching for a reason you could say yes. It’s right there, hiding just at the back of your throat. Another word from him and it will come.
He is made of smoke, you’re sure. Of dirt and red clay. Of pine needles and the daisies that you saw when you tried to get thoroughly lost in the woods. And of a kind thought or ten. He is so very sweet, it seems right.
“If you offer and I accept, is that still stealing?” you state your question, the final one before you answer. You’ve decided on that.
You reach into his lap, over thin knees that appear under heavy fabric. You did not see it before for the shadows, but he wears a cloak of green canvas--- so dark as to be almost mistaken for black. His dirt-caked hand, boney and cold from the night air rests against his thigh until you pick it up.
He fits his palm to yours as best he can, it is good enough.
He smiles, showing his small fangs. You give his hand a squeeze, hoping to warm him. But, you remember, you will have a while to do so. Slowly, you stand and he follows.
“I have no idea,” your shape says.

Note
One day I will stop disappearing. (1) the first ask about ships. Red Mars isn't lost yet, so what about Suwa and Takeuchi? (2) the second ask is about ships. 1,17,18, but maybe there is some question that you would like to answer, but no one asked it? (3) ask about mutual. I'm sorry, but I can't make sense of the question. Now I feel a little silly.
Please don’t worry about it! I do these for fun and when I need to get my mind off of things or just want something to talk about so don’t feel obliged to do them all hjbh this isnt your job, I won’t mind if you disappear and miss some. I appreciate it a lot that you do all of them I just don’t want you to feel like you have to you knowhgvhvvh <3<3<3<3<3<3<3
This got long so under the cut
Send me a ship to rate
Suwa x Takeuchi
vomit / don’t ship / okay / cute / adorable / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
I am the only one writing stuff in this fandom so I can do what I want uwu. I do ship them exclusively queerplatonically tho, I can’t imagine either of them having romantic or sexual feelings for each other. And I doubt we will get much more backstory on them then we already got (tho i am expecting we’ll get more from Suwa since his is more set up) but I’m just very interested in the time before the other vampires joined, the two of them would be all alone in a building full of humans. There is also the idea that Suwa was feral for a long time and we don’t know how he got out of it so I like to imagine Takeuchi figured smtng out, he’d be all over something like that. So I like to imagine the two of them simply finding home in each other as two things of same in the middle of a world they no longer belong to. It’s that feeling of home, acceptance and belonging I get when I think about them, rather than any romantic or sexual feelings.
Shipping asks
1. What was your first OTP?
HhHhhH The first one i remember is Soul X Maka from Soul Eater. Soul Eater was the first anime I watched when i was like ???? 11-12. And obviously since i was that age i consumed other media before that and probably saw other relationships but for life of me I can’t remember them. That’s probably because when I discovered Anime i discovered fanfiction too so Soul x Maki is the first ship i remember actually searching and reading fics for, sorta getting involved into  a fandom for the first time, tho i wouldn’t be actively involved until i started writing for Durarara. I still haven’t rewatched Soul Eater in its completion since i watched it that first time ;-; Every like 5 years or so my brother and i will start a rewatch and never get very far hjbhjhj we watched it together first so we wanna rewatch it together too but maybe at this point we should just watch it separately. We aren’t very good at watching shows we actually like together hvhjh
17. Are there any popular ships that you just don’t like? What are they?
As I said I think my shipping tastes run p vanilla so I usually like the popular ships or at least don’t mind them much. That being said I did think of few.
Endhawks – I used to be passionately against this because I passionately hated Endeavor but since my feelings for Endeavor simmered down my feelings for this ship also simmered down from ‘THIS WAS MADE IN HELL’ to ‘gross no’. While I do think it’s best for Enji and Rei to separate or at least distance themselves, I hate this idea of Enji immediately getting into another relationship with someone that much younger then him who idolizes him. Like my man, that’s just not what you do when you are recovering from being abusive towards ur last spouse, that’s just a recipe for disaster. I do like their relationship as friends tho but I don’t like the idea of Hawks healing Enji or being a relationship where he can finally really fall in love or something because that just makes me very uncomfy.
Gojohime – apparently this is??? Pretty popular??? I had no idea until Foxy told me ppl were legit considering it endgame. Like…I’m just really not into ships where the guy and girl obviously hate each other and don’t get along and the way Gojo acts around Utahime can classify as nothing but piggy tail pulling. I like ships in which Gojo is compelled to act more mature and responsible but not ships that make it seems like his partner would be his babysitter or his mom or something and that’s v much the vibe this ship is giving me.
Itadori x Nobara – this ship doesn’t have bad vibes I just HEAVILY prefer them as besties. I like that JJK has little to no romantic fumblings and that the main three can just be friends J it’s refreshing. It just wouldn’t feel right for me if they hooked up.
18. What is your favorite unpopular ship?
So this is kind of interesting thing to ask cuz most of my ships that aren’r popular come from me uhhhh roleplaying bnha for over 3 years I think now. Yeah so I used to be super involved into the bnha roleplay community and the thing is with roleplay that you start looking for popular ships (My first was Tododeku) and then it kind of….goes off all over the place with time. The thing is roleplay servers die out and you follow people elsewhere. Sometimes you stay with the entire group, sometimes you just follow 1-2 people you really like. You change servers, you change groups, you stick by the few ppl you really like roleplaying with and eventually you ship together whatever the fuck because at that point the partner is more important than the ship. With a good partner you can make everything work. I mained Hawks, Shouto, Shinsou and sometimes Tamaki and one of my fav rp partners (we mostly rp ocs now) mostly mained Sero so….we did a LOT of Seroroki. I very rarely this ship anywhere but it was very fun we did it in a lot of aus. Same goes for Izuku x Sero X Shouto which we did with another friend in such a nice domestic au it was great. Also Momo x Shinsou with another partner, we didn’t do this for long because the server shut down soon after but uhhh they did yandere Momo and it was such a fantastic performance it sold me on yanderes forever.
Some honorary mentions of other crack ships I did: Midnight x Hawks, Kurogiri x Hari x Kai, Tamaki x Camie, Shishikura x Shouto.
That’s just off the top of my head all of these were surprisingly very good and fun, as I said, the partner matters not the ship. I think this is why I’m like way more lax in shipping in bnha then like in jjk. In jjk I need a ship to have a chemistry I can consider at least somewhat romantic to consider it, in bnha just fuckin everything goes because I’m so used to it just being this sandbox I can do anything in.
Uhh as for bonus question uhhh
29. Do you like OCs (Original Characters)?
I like ocs a whole lot I have a metric shit tone of them and I’d like to talk about them but idk how to start in a way that would be interesting to anyone ;-; rip

♔, ♦, ♡ !
( get to know the rper )
these are long so i’m putting my answers under the cut LMAO
Send me a ♔ for me to describe a favorite rp character of mine.
i was gonna describe pelleas but then remembered you’re not done fe10 so i will refrain MAMRKGMRGMGR
instead, i’ll talk about rowan! while i have pretty mixed feelings about warriors itself, i think its protagonists are legitimately interesting. it’s a shame that an extra layer to them is hidden behind support conversations though and support conversations are a pain to get in this game but... i mean... i guess you can say that about every character in games right? i think i only really point it out here because of how crucial some of these details are in the scope of the main plot’s themes, yet they don’t come up in the main plot at all unfortunately ):
rowan and lianna both don’t want the throne, having very different desires for their paths from one another yet being united in their attempt to force that inheritance onto the other twin. rowan’s comes from his disdain towards his father, seeing the previous king become bedridden and seeming utterly useless in such a state to a young boy. this leads rowan to grow up believing that kings by their nature are weak. he believes that kings, since they have a military to protect them, cannot do anything themselves and rowan hates that powerlessness when he knows the people look to their king to protect them. rowan can’t see the value behind kingship, refuses to, and thinks it’s not a position that would be fulfilling for him. he understands that it’s a position that requires thinking and governing, but he doesn’t see it as important as military might, leading to his evasiveness.
i like the fact that he’s clearly in the wrong with how he looks upon the position and his late father both, and i like the fact that his motivation for trying to escape his inheritance is rooted in good intentions but ignorance tainting it. more than that though, i like how it contrasts lianna’s motivations yet shows they share the same heart. lianna sees the power in the throne that rowan refuses to completely admit to, and she sees her own flaw of overthinking things and being too hesitant as cause for concern — that such a queen wouldn’t be able to make the necessary decisions in a time of crisis and would cause tragedy upon the subjects who rely on her, and that a proper ruler should have both confidence and presence in order to be effective. she wants her country to have a ruler they can rely upon to be able to save them.
both want to protect their people, but they don’t have the maturity to accept responsibility. they fear or dislike a part of it, and so they run away from it. meeting people from all different worlds thus gives them the perspective they need to understand what ruling is like and in the end, they rule together. they have finished their arc and both accept their duty, and although the other twin accepting the throne means they theoretically could back down like they’ve always wanted, they don’t. they know a ruler must be able to act but also must think carefully, and they desire to use one another’s strengths to create a better aytolis. their coronation ceremony as a result is such a great scene to me and i forever love it, and i’m glad the whole ‘warriors from different realms’ plot helps them not only in a physical way (i.e. using their might to win the conflict) but also a mental way (i.e. helping the twins mature).
warriors’ plot is an absolute mess but thematically it’s great, and it really makes good use of its multiple protagonists in my opinion. i haven’t felt this good about multiple protags in fe as i have with gaiden, and i’m glad they exist even if not really many people care all too much for them. both twins are compelling and i just write rowan because :P it’s natural for me to choose the male muse but also stan lianna
Send me a ♦ for me to describe a plot that I’ve been wanting to do.
i think i’d like to explore edward’s arc in fe10 at some point! i find it captivating that the guy that’s clearly supposed to be the “recklessly jumps into the fray as his calm friend tries to reel him in” archetype is actually the one who most wants to stop fighting. honestly, i imagine this would’ve been a theme explored in his support convos if they had actually given him them smh
he loves fighting. he’s over the moon to be given a daein national treasure. he clearly has strong feelings about fighting to protect the weak. and yet... he gets a conversation about wanting to inspire the army to just abandon the war. he’s thinking about peace, and he’s tired of nonsense wars. he’s staying only for micaiah at this point. i think this really captures a part of radiant dawn’s plot well: about the flaws of micaiah’s nationalism and how she can go too far for her goals, and how the war has its negative consequences on the people in it. what are they even fighting for is always a strong theme to go off on.
i also think it ends up getting wrapped pretty well in edward’s character ending, signalling what true happiness means to him and his choice to pursue it, and idk man. i just want to write edward LOL
Send me a ♡ for me to describe a character that I haven’t had a chance to rp but would like to.
ah, yes, the Classic Multimuse Question.
i can’t say ronan because i’ve already written him before :thonking: but i think at the moment, i’ve got my eyes set on either sothe or m!byleth!
with sothe, i just find his frustrations but him trying to work around them and being forced to figure out his priorities in life during fe10 an interesting read! he’s also a fun character: he’s gruff and blunt and could really learn to speak better, and at times he’s a surprising voice of reason despite being pretty young still, but he’s got his cute moments too like how he banters with tormod! sothe has morphed into this type of person to be able to protect micaiah however he can and prove to her he CAN stay by her side and support her, but he’s still, at his root, just a silly teen boy if you let him get his guard down. i think it’s nice. i also support male supporting characters to female leads tbh and anyone who says fe10 should’ve had sothe as the lord is saying a take i can’t agree with smh
as for m!byleth... i think i’m just fascinated by characters who allow me to explore identity and the struggles that come with it. byleth goes through a lot of heavy things in regards to it, from their lack of emotions at first to being forced into this role as teacher to eventually letting it become them to then becoming a god themself and then the falling out of that depending on the route?? Spicie.
i think i just... am unfortunately not invested in three houses enough to justify that though, as much as i think byleth could be a cool character to write, and while i lean towards m!byleth due to my own masculinity and the fact that there’s less of him than f!byleth in the community clearly, i still think any incarnation of byleth is well taken care of in the rpc without me also taking a swing at it. i also think writing my units is just... harder for me for some reason? i always view it as some kind of guilty pleasure really and byleth is no exception. i feel like if i write byleth, it’ll basically be me going through all the complicated feelings i went through when i rp’d m!corrin and idk if that’s worth it.

I FINALLY SAW CAPTAIN MARVEL AND I GOT EMOTIONAL WATCHING IT. Okay, calming down now. As a lot of you know, my expectations were low as the marketing was lackluster, I was nervous about certain choices that were made, etc., and even though I avoided any CM chatter, I heard murmurs of mixed reactions...so my expectations were pretty much on the floor when I went to see it. I just hoped it would be fun even if it was okay, but uh...I REALLY ENJOYED IT. It’s not perfect and when I was talking to Alanna, she said people said it reminded them of CA:TFA (it really does in certain ways and I get why they said it, but TFA, for all its cheese and its weaknesses, is one of my favorite MCU movies lol). BUT! I! LOVED! IT! I don’t care about the unevenness because all that fell to the wayside by the sheer, all-encompassing joy I felt watching it.
This is how I wanted to feel watching Wonder Woman because I adored Diana as a little girl and it didn’t happen although I kept quiet about my disappointment because I wanted people to go support it anyway as it was super important that it did well. THIS THOUGH. I wanted to punch my fist in the air so many times and laugh and hug and hang out with Carol. I JUST. GOD.
I’ve experienced unfettered happiness and fun before with Marvel—that’s how I felt with The Avengers and with Spider-man: Homecoming. But this? This was the first time I was a fan of someone from the comics before seeing a movie and seeing it come to life the way I so hoped she would. It was extremely special because of that particular element and I got emotional because of it which I didn’t expect. I really felt disconnected to Carol from what I saw in the trailers and was afraid the movie wouldn’t resonate because it would be very white feminist-y. It wasn’t. And that hero on the screen? THAT WAS MY GIRL CAROL. I’m kind of getting slightly misty-eyed writing this. But GOD, I waited years for this and it’s just overwhelming wth!
I’m going to do my usual bullet points. If you want to avoid spoilers, scroll past this long post:
I was turned off by the silliness of the trailers and Carol’s more serious moments came off as unconvincing in them, so I expected not to connect with her. I WAS WRONG. I GOT MY GIRL. I’M WEEPING! She’s emotional! She’s feisty and bullheaded. She can be serious and fueled by anger. She can be fun even when she’s a fierce warrior, but not to the point that it’s distracting! Her humor is very much her own and very much Carol. It’s not witty. It’s goofy. She clearly finds herself hilarious which I LOVED. SHE’S SO DORKY, SMILING AT HER OWN JOKES.
The movie stayed away from what could have been a cringeworthy white savior undercurrent by making Carol culpable in the suffering of the oppressed. I know the Skrulls are aliens and look like them unlike the other aliens we’ve seen who you can’t exactly forget are played by POC characters, but lbr that narrative is about refugees and...look at current events lmao. As a Kree warrior, even if she unknowingly participated in the Kree-Skrull war ignorant of the truth, she hurt a lot of innocent people. And that’s great! It’s not that she was this pure person swooping in to save the weak or whatever. This is something she had to grapple with once her memories came back and her eyes were opened and she knew she had to make amends.
It reminded me strongly of Tony in IM1 with Obie dealing under the table to terrorists and becoming a part of a corrupt machine without meaning to. It didn’t matter that that was the case; he still felt responsible and accountability became a huge part of his story.
This origin story reminded me of Cap’s, not because of the whole military aspect to it lol but because of how she’s “just human.” Carol never gives up and Steve doesn’t either. They get knocked down? They’ll shake it off and stand back up. I might’ve gotten a little emotional here too which I didn’t expect. Plus she wanted to prove to herself that she could do whatever the hell she set her heart on. The other parallel was the whole fighting for the government/military who end up not being so great and going rogue thing.
It made me sad because we won’t get the Steve-Tony-Carol friendship we so deserve, but lol while the credits were rolling, my sister was like “Yeah, Tony’s going to die” because she’s the obvious successor. Originally she said it was because of his powers when I asked why and then she agreed when I pointed out that it’s not just because of his powers, but in terms of personality and a whole slew of things that reminded me of him AND Steve (it’s like Peter in CA:CW and SM:H). She feels like the linchpin holding the MCU together like them too.
Like the fact that Carol was the reason for the Avengers’ existence! That was obvious, but that scene where Fury’s typing on the computer and he looks at that photo of her before changing the name of the initiative? HM....I WAS VERKLEMPT.
Also, I loved how they made her get her powers. It wasn’t an accident. No one sacrificed their life for her. She got her powers because of her own actions. She got her powers because she was being a HERO. SHE IS WHO SHE IS BECAUSE OF HERSELF. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!
Speaking of that, I was surprised by the Mar-Vell plot twist because we all thought that would be Jude Law and I expected Annette Bening to be someone else (who she sort of ended up being anyway) lol. I didn’t mind that they did that. Love that she was Carol’s mentor.
I loved the female relationships. CAROL AND MARIA’S SCENES. MARIA BELIEVING IN HER. MARIA TALKING ABOUT HOW HARD IT WAS FOR HER AS A SINGLE MOM AND A WOMAN IN THE AIR FORCE, BUT CAROL DIDN’T CARE ABOUT THAT. THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THEIR LIFE TOGETHER...BINCH...I MAY HAVE BLINKED OUT A TEAR!!!!! Carol being cute with Monica! Monica urging her mom to be a hero while Maria wanted to watch out for her because she has Monica to think of now, not just herself. Monica being responsible for Carol’s Captain Marvel getup! Carol and Maria getting involved with Lawson because she was their ticket to proving themselves and moving up!
And yet the movie didn’t get too hammy and heavy-handed with feminism (I hate it when some people write stuff that way because I find it extremely sloppy and ineffective)! We didn’t have to have a female villain just because we had a female lead superhero. We didn’t have to have moments where Carol says preachy lines. That moment where she just raised her eyebrow at the motorcycle dude? Fantastic. She didn’t have to deal with that scumbag. That moment where Yon-Rogg tried to pull a typical Man Move TM by trying to make her prove herself to him (and trying to take ownership of her development and strength)? She didn’t have to be all cocky and say some quip or cheesy af line. She wasn’t even that angry because he’s not worth it. He’s an ant beneath her foot. He’s irrelevant. She just says it straight up that she doesn’t have to prove anything to him, and that was what made that so powerful for me. It resonated because she said it like it was the truth, plain and simple, and it WAS.
No romance shoved in not because Carol didn’t need no man as a Strong Woman but because there are more important things at stake and honestly, the romance was with her wife Maria her relationships with other humans and the Skrulls were the emotional crux. They’re an important part of who she is and of rediscovering her identity. God...like her relationship with Fury? So well done. It was the buddy cop movie that I so wanted. I loved their jokes and their mutual respect for each other. I love how they became so important to each other and we saw Fury deeply care about someone and showing that. One of my favorite scenes is the one where they’re washing dishes together.
They also didn’t shove Coulson in too much which I was afraid of. We got to see where Fury started off, a greener one but one who was as compelling because he was so human. We got to see Fury deeply caring about someone and so openly (this is the guy who said, “I'm just an old man who cares very much about you“ to Tony in AoU). It was nice seeing how the whole belief in superheroes thing truly started with the both of them (Coulson had his whole Cap thing, but I feel like this was the moment where he imagined having a hero like that in his own time was possible).
Uh let’s see. I love Goose. I don’t particularly care for animals in movies even though I know people obsess about them, but they didn’t overdo Goose’s part.
All the little callbacks to the comics! KSD showing up!
The period part of the period piece wasn’t overdone which I appreciated. Carol typing made me laugh, the slow download and AOL shoutout made me laugh, and damn, the fashion and music? I was over the moon. You didn’t have to go over the top to make us immersed in the 90s. Also, my heart sang when we got Carol on a bike on the open road in a leather jacket. The bliss I felt is indescribable tbh.
Ooh the special effects were good for the most part! Loved seeing her fly and loved seeing her gut ships and destroy missiles. It felt real. Space didn’t feel cheesy af to me which was a problem I had with GotG 1.
Speaking of flying and punching things, it was so viscerally satisfying to see her do that. One of the things that really did it for me was how she enjoyed her powers. It was exhilarating seeing her fly for the first time (similar to seeing Tony taking out the suit for a test flight in IM1). Her little laugh/whoop of excitement? That’s what it would be like to discover you can fly! That grin when she breaks free of the Kree dampening her powers and she can feel her powers at full force running through her? That’s what it would be like to be at 100% and have all that. I wanted to jump out of my seat and feel what she felt. It made her powers not feel very OTT-overpowered? Carol has....too many powers and is super strong to the point that she’s overpowered, but uh...idk I didn’t have a problem with it here, mainly because of this.
The post-credits scenes were good too like....WOW, HUH. I watched this in Dolby (my first Dolby experience!) and I GOT EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY THIRSTY OVER STEVE IN A BEARD AND OUT OF HIS SUIT AND A TIGHT WHITE SHIRT!!! I DON’T KNOW HOW I KEPT IT TOGETHER BECAUSE I ALMOST DIDN’T WHICH WOULD’VE BEEN EMBARRASSING. BUT PHEW!!!!!! STEVE? WHAT A *****!!! Thought the scene was nice too even though I wish Carol got better hair. I assume she flew and that’s why she looks so bedraggled, but uhfhghdaoifhas I hated her hair in this and want Carol to get the nice hair she deserves (preferably a short butch cut...thanks. C’mon, Brie wants it too). OH, ALMOST COMPLETELY FORGOT TO MENTION THAT IT BROKE MY HEART TO HEAR HER SAY, “YOU CAN’T TELL ME WHO I AM. I DON’T KNOW WHO I AM” AND TO NOT KNOW WHERE SHE BELONGS. SHE’S NOT KREE, BUT SHE’S NO LONGER FULLY HUMAN NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF HER POWERS BUT BECAUSE OF HER LIFE ON HALA AS WELL. I loved how we saw her journey to accepting that and who she is now and how that was all tied up nicely with her wearing her old leather jacket the Rambeaus kept for her and her new suit as she goes into space. What a great moment and a nice visual cue to a comics cover I really like of Carol wearing her jacket over her suit and staring up at the stars. I feel like trying to find her place and her identity are important to her so I loved that we got that here and we’ll hopefully see more of that.
There are a bunch of negatives here (a bunch of stuff about the Tesseract that go against canon, the Skrulls (makeup, personalities, nerfed powers and threat level imo, etc.), subpar writing and acting at moments, etc.), but I seriously don’t care at all because I enjoyed the ride. My happiness dwarfs every little thing I could have nitpicked. I don’t care!!! I had so much fun! I liked the movie a lot!

BS runs in the family
Word of mouth is still the best marketing tool.
Someone might say to me - "Yo, Praphit, you gotz to check out that new sports bar called... idk, Tiddlywinks!"
or "Yo, Praphit, you gotz to check out that new Slushie at Sleven"
or "Yo, Praphit, you gotz to check out Becky down the street! Hot! HOT!"
If people are talking about a product, that's a start... doesn't mean it's good, I guess.
I mean, I could go check out Becky, who might look hot from far off, but get close and notice
Tumblr media
... she's got... that new STD out there.
(On a PC note: I'm sure Becky is beautiful in the eyes of someone. Not zombie-shaming; just not my type.)
This is so true especially in dealing with Horror movies at festivals.
Ex. "Paranormal Activity" - people were saying this was THE SCARIEST MOVIE YOU'LL EVER SEE
I watched it - bullshit
"It Comes At Night" - people said, "IT'S SO SCARY YOU"LL PEE YOURSELF."
I watched it - some ol bullshit

Now we have "Hereditary"
Tumblr media
THERE SHOULD NOT EVEN BE MORE HORROR MOVIES AFTER THIS! SCARIEST OF THE SCARY!
Let's see what we have here.
I've already got two strikes against this movie right off the bat:
#1 - I checked out RT - The critics give it 91%, but the Audience gives it 58%
Odd
#2 - Someone told me that this is another one of those movies that uses mental illness as a device to bring horror. This person who told me this knows how I feel about such media, BUT I'm a fair praphit. Let's unravel this to see what type of bullshit we have this time around. Or not! ...
...
or not:)
This movie starts off like any other typical scary movie:
the creepy house, the creepy town, the weird white family, their creepy child, and family secrets - we are ready for horror!
But, this movie, at least in Act 1, is not about horror.
I think this first act is about loss, grief, and coping. The beginning of this movie has great acting, compelling storytelling, creative direction, and sooooo much grief (which I'll get back to). I want talk about this crazy family:
The daughter - is constantly eating chocolate (why? - who knows??) and is all about making action figures out of dead animals.
The son - who looks a lil old for highschool, is high all of the time, is tormented by a family secret, and has a habit of staring at girls in the creepiest way possible (and staring at anyone is already creepy).
The mom - whew! Look, the mom has been through some rough times with her crazy ass mother, plus she goes through something in this movie that made my jaw drop for like 10 mins...
Tumblr media
Yep, I looked just like that.
I hadn't seen anything that traumatic in a movie in a while. BUT - this drives mama crazy.
And take a look at what's she's placing around the house -
Tumblr media
I couldn't find a good pic, but she has these models of their home and people in their home that are displaying things the family has been through... kinda cool, I guess... but they take things too far.
Imagine proclaiming all of the family dirty laundry with these models, and showing them to guests who stop by:
"Here's lil Sally having sex with her boyfriend; she thinks we don't know... she was shortly then after grounded for a year."
"Here's my husband crying over gambling debt, drinking himself to sleep."
"And here's me on the toilet. It was a taco night."
It's like that, but much darker.

The dad - is strange because of how normal he is in the midst of all of this. I also feel bad for the dad, cuz you can tell that he's not getting any :) The wifey is simply going through too much and is way too crazy for sexy time. He has to deal with these three crazos in the house, deal with the grief of the 1st act of this movie.... I never saw him work (so possibly unemployed), walking around these odd models at home, I never see him having any fun (video games, tv, blunts, nothing!), to top it all off he's pressed up against the lovely Toni Collette (mama) every night and no action ever happens... just wandering around this movie looking tired, frustrated, and confused... poor sap.
Like I said, act 1 is heavy. My first reaction was "Man, I've got my own problems to deal with, I don't need the weight of this as well!" But, because the movie is so well done, I got over it; and was deep into it.
*sigh* But, then Act 2 came -
Seances, baby! Things take a turn to a typical scary movie now, with a build up of the supernatural. It was as if the writers said, "Alright, time to get into the spooky. Let's do some drugs, and get to it."
*Heavier sigh* And then came Act 3 -
Those drugs kicked in... (and apparently and unfortunately the drug of choice was LSD):
We go from a grounded, but deep family drama, to a typical scary movie, to... I don't even know what:
I'm about to throw in some minor spoilers, so... you know, if you care... you might want to leave

- decapitations, dead bodies (that no one checked on for days... and apparently they couldn't smell), people bursting into flames, naked elderly people lurking around in the shadows... smiling at people (which is now at the top of my THINGS THAT FREAK ME OUT LIST), more decapitations, people randomly gaining the ability to fly, some being from Hell shows up.
And there's not a whole lot of explaining going on. I mean, kinda... it's like if I'm listening to two people talk, but I don't know what language they're speaking, and someone tells me they're speaking in German... cool, but I don't know German, so does it matter?
NOTHING MADE ANY SENSE!
There are a lot of things to mislead the audience, which some may find charming after watching this movie... I just find it to be bad storytelling.
And no one calls the cops! No one uses a cell phone! No one turns on a frickin light! No one drives away! - all of that is typical horror movie white family stupidity, but... this movie put me through too much, so I'm not letting it slide.
I will say that the art direction is great throughout the whole film. This is a disturbing, confusing, gory masterpiece (hence the 91% on RT). It's debateble whether you'll be scared, but there is a 100% chance you will leave the theatre disturbed.
It's like I went over a friend's house to comfort his family through something painful. All is well, until the family abruptly starts with the LSD... then they all get naked and violent. At the end of the night, they expect me to just leave like all of that was normal.
Call me old fashioned, but I like my monsters simple -
Jigsaw
Tumblr media
(looking all cute - traps people and plays a torture game with them)
He... wants you to appreciate life
Remember the chick from "The Ring" (coming through your Tv to hand you a supernatural whupin)
Tumblr media
I couldn't watch Tv for weeks. She's simply motivating us to pick up a book.
Even Jaws is simple
Tumblr media
- He's hungry! - that's it!
But, this frickin movie... smh
Grade: D seriously though, the acting is really good (especially Toni Collette), shots are amazing and creative, but... as expected, the bullshit was right around the corner.

Even though I'm giving it this grade, I still wouldn't say "don't see it". Artsy types will appreciate the direction. Plus, I know some of you will be vacillating between these to flicks to take your family to see this weekend:
"The Incredibles 2" and "Hereditary" but if you do go the darker route, just make sure you plan on a support group, some ice cream, and probably some Jesus after it's all said and done.

zoe and i were also organizing lists of our top ten video games and these are mine kind of in order
1. final fantasy tactics
2. final fantasy vii
3. kingdom hearts (the first one)
4. the elder scrolls v: skyrim
5. undertale
6. rhapsody: a musical adventure
7. ghost trick
8. dragon age: inquisition
9. assassin’s creed ii
10. grandia ii
honorable mentions: tomb raider ii, okami
some explanations about the ranking:
zoe and i decided not to include multiple games from the same series, however spinoffs are fair game, thus why i’ve got both tactics and vii there.
fft is an incredibly good game with complicated gameplay and a convoluted story. if i hadn’t played it when i was younger i might not have gotten into it at this age just because the difficulty curve is extremely steep (as i have come to learn), but because i did this game is my #1. obviously lol. my blog is sort of fft-themed.
it was rough trying to decide between vii and ix, but ultimately i went with vii because i feel more emotionally connected to it than ix in terms of like nostalgia & how it affected me growing up. however ix has a better story and a more compelling villain and is in general a superior game to vii, and i would recommend ix to people before i would recommend vii. but vii exists in a place in my heart that ix doesn’t quite reach. i’ve even written more fics for ix than vii but something about vii is like... idk indescribable. again ix is a better game and vii only beats it by a slim margin, and if it were not for the aforementioned one game from a series rule they would both be on here, but alas. ffxii also doesn’t make the cut ‘cause i’ve never actually beaten it, despite finding the story & characters really compelling, because it’s hard and the final stretch is really a bit of a slog.
the first kingdom hearts game is one of the best games ever made period. none of the sequels have ever matched up to the experience of the first.
the first three games almost essentially take up the number 1 slot, and skyrim and undertale are basically tied at number 2. they’re both games i’ve played more recently and thus don’t have as much nostalgia for, but i had to pick one over the other, so i picked skyrim because i’ve played way more hours of it than undertale, written more for it, and thought more about it in the recent years. however undertale is a superior game to skyrim and absolutely changed my life when i played it for the first time, and also is in general one of the best games ever made, but i distanced myself from it shortly after i played it because the fandom was so fucking bad. now that some time has passed i feel like i can safely talk about undertale again, and also replaying it with zoe reawakened all of my feelings for it. undertale good.
rhapsody is what i consider to be my first video game in so many ways, but the musical aspect of it especially speaks to me as a person. it’s cute and cheesy and shaped a lot of my sense of cuteness from a young age. i still love the art & music and find the main characters really sweet and compelling.
ghost trick and da:i are virtually tied, but ghost trick wins because, despite being two completely different games with completely different experiences, ghost trick offers a better experience than da:i does. i mean it’s sentimental to me because zoe loves it, right, but i also love it for my own reasons. like a cat saving the life of his owner is an unbelievably powerful bit of storytelling and resonates with any cat - or pet - owner, especially any cat owner who feels like their cat has saved their life before. also the puzzles are really fun, speaking as someone who usually gets impatient with puzzles, because the gameplay is simple enough that while the puzzles are creative and imaginative i never feel overly confused about what to do.
da:i is the best dragon age game. i know that’s not a popular dragon age opinion but it’s mine lol. da:o is just extremely dark and edgy in ways that are boring, and the characters in da2 don’t even seem to like each other...like...at all, and kirkwall got repetitive after a while. but da:i feels bright and hopeful. the story isn’t really its strong suit, but all the characters are really fun and fleshed out and interesting, and the environments are fucking beautiful. the shit with solas is all the more terrible because solas feels like a real character. also it has sera who is my #problematic fave.
assassin’s creed ii might seem like a weird one ‘cause i don’t talk about it much but i’ve actually played five different assassin’s creed games and pretty much enjoyed them all to varying degrees. ac2 beats grandia ii because it’s a better gaming experience - fast-paced gameplay, atmospheric music, a memorable protagonist - and just when the assassin thing is starting to feel old it ends itself neatly. i replayed it last fall and loved every second of it, cementing it in as one of my favorites. black flag, surprisingly, is not my favorite, but only because there’s so much fucking content that i’ve never beaten it in the two times i’ve started playing it. however black flag is extremely fun and has themes i enjoy (pirates) but ac2 is the better game.
grandia ii is the black sheep because i don’t think i would recommend this game to anyone because of a lot of its downfalls - overdramatic script & voice acting, a soundtrack that’s just a little ridiculous, a very basic plot, the inability to backtrack to old locations, and a jerkass protagonist - but i fucking love the lego graphics and a good chunk of the characters. and all right the music too. and the gameplay, for a jrpg, is like....really fun. as in better than early final fantasy fun. so it’s at the bottom of my top 10 but still, you know, an enjoyable game.
honorable mentions to tomb raider ii and okami... tomb raider ii because the classic tomb raider games i love playing with my mom and in general are fun and atmospheric, but tr2 is the only one i’ve beaten myself and it doesn’t have a very good plot, though it is fun. and okami is a better game than grandia ii and would originally take the bottom of my top 10 if i didn’t have associations of it with people i used to know, but it’s still an incredibly fun and good game, and i’d like to replay it someday.
gonna tag @butchkurama cuz this is relevant to what we were talking about lol. if any of my mutuals want to write about their top ten video games please tag me in whatever posts you make ‘cause i’m super interested, i love knowing about people’s favorites of whatever, especially video games

TLJ thoughts, post-viewing
sooo, i have a lot of feelings about a lot of things. also the subtitles didn’t prepare me. for a lot.
this movie is made up of many quiet, non-verbal moments and rian johnson lets those moments sink in and dwell with you and that’s great
rey exploring the workings of the force, for example. there’s a really cool sequence where she’s trying to find out who her parents are and she lowers herself in the embodiment of the dark side and it’s very trippy and cool. it’s not rushed and it’s v atmospheric. she gets the incentive to do that thanks to kylo. his revelations about luke and his general aura of “troubled darkness” inspire her to dig deeper.
i think what i liked most about reylo was its sense of gratuitous intimacy. what i mean by this is that they seemed to connect without effort, without having to manipulate the plot to make it fit. they seemed be in their own little movie, dealing with things beyond the usual surface level of star wars ‘good vs. evil’. kylo’s philosophy about letting the past go is definitely flawed, but the way the movie frames reylo, they do seem to “let go” of their surroundings and circumstances when they’re together. it’s sort of timeless.
i will say, i don’t think the romance was that "romantic”, if that makes sense? and i think it’s a good thing. their bond is very real, but it goes beyond “romantic drama” and your usual hero/villain trope. it has shades of that, ofc, and there is palpable sexual and romantic tension, imo. but i sensed something more mature and interesting between them. it could go either way. do i want reylo to have a future in ep 9 and after? yep. is it possible they won’t? also yep. mainly because kylo let rey down. and here’s the kicker: it’s not rey that really rejects him. it’s him that rejects rey. because she tries quite a few times to bring him over to her side, and i think her anger and sadness stem from the fact that, ultimately, kylo didn’t choose her, and ergo the light. he’s still v much conflicted and i think she can sense that. but rey is hungry. she wants all or nothing. she can’t have half of him. so she doesn’t reject him as much as tell him straight up that she won’t stand for being second. for instance, she expects him to fold to her side immediately after taking down snoke. when he doesn’t, she’s quite literally in tears. this hurts her on a deeper level than “oh no, the dark side won and the resistance lost an important ally.” no, this feels like her parents all over. leaving her, deserting her. that’s how i read it, tbh.
and kylo does some reprehensible shit in the latter quarter of the movie, lol, like i won’t woobify him, since i like my antiheroes to be antiheroes.  but he's not quite villain level?  if u look at snoke, if u take that cool, collected snarky asshole - that’s a villain. he knows who he is, and what he wants. kylo is hopelessly confused and always looking for validation. he tells rey that she’s the one always looking for father figures - but oh, benny ben. it’s actually you. he wants someone to really see him, and that’s why he’s drawn to rey. but just to clarify: he doesn’t have it in him to kill his mother. he has an open, unambiguous chance and he stops. he is willing to destroy her when she stands behind walls and is shielded by the resistance. yet when she’s in the open, no. that was my read on it.
his fight with luke is...very much one-sided. luke appears as a force-hologram to fight him and kylo just wants to obliterate him for very, very personal reasons. kylo is not the cool, collected new emperor who is going to “kill the past”. he lives so much in the past that he doesn’t even realize luke isn’t even there.
and btw, kylo doesn’t kill luke, though he wishes he had. early on we get this foreshadowing. when the first force-bond happens between him and rey, he goes “no, you’re not doing this. the effort would kill you.” meaning that, to transport yourself through space via force (without a bond) takes a looooot of energy. luke goes on a suicide mission, basically. he knows using the force like this will kill him. he’s almost having fun toying with kylo at the end.
when kylo realizes he’s a force-hologram, luke smiles and says “see you around, kid.” not exactly anakin vs obi-wan, if u know what i mean.
and then back on the island, we see luke peacefully give himself over to the force and vanish. it’s v tranquil and quite satisfying and the original star wars theme is used so well, imo. do i think we could’ve had more of luke? sure. but he went out on his own terms. that’s the whole point - kylo didn’t kill him. he killed himself.
again, i want to emphasize that kylo is still very much an antihero, dipping his toe into villainy (and failing - which makes him more angry, which only makes it harder to be the villain he wants to be haha). he’s not a Good Guy. many posts will crop up in the tag about what a poor, lost soul he is. yes and no. rey actually understands him when she closes the falcon door on him. she knows him and appreciates him. he will never really be ben solo and that’s a good thing. trying to be ben solo so hard is what got him in this mess. he isn’t supposed to be a Good Guy. so no, i don’t want him to “turn” (see my thoughts on “turning” below). i want him to truly move beyond the past and reform himself on his own terms, just like luke. because hey fam, luke isn’t a Good Guy in this movie either AND THAT’S GREAT. anyway, i certainly won’t be romanticizing him (kylo). he’s a compelling antihero who definitely has baggage and trauma (luke did try to kill him as a boy, though he has a wildly dramatized version of the event lol) but he is also someone who has to help himself. ultimately, rey’s goal isn’t to “save” him but to push him to save himself. honestly, if kylo had followed her and “turned” and reluctantly joined the resistance, it would’ve been a total let down and a betrayal of his character. him “turning” wouldn’t help him. he’d still have that darkness and that anger inside of him, multiplied. boy needs therapy - aka working through his issues, not ignoring them and joining the Good Side.
Other things I liked:
- admiral holdo’s arc - beautiful, well-done and surprising. laura dern kills it.
- benicio del toro!!!!! no small parts with this man. he is delightful. imagine rick from “rick and morty” but way hotter lol. he was probably my favorite addition, after rose. he’s the middle-ground guy, he’s more han solo than fucking han solo. he doesn’t believe in good guys vs bad guys and he shows both finn and the audience that the two sides err because they believe their path is the only path. he perfectly encapsulates the very real contradictions in modern-day ethics and how our “pure and wholesome” activism often shields us from some terrible truths. he does have a semblance of a heart underneath his cynicism but i love that in the end he doesn’t suddenly discover the power of friendship with finn and rose. he’s a jaded asshole with shades of good, who’s probably seen some rough shit. BUT, he has this super cute moment with rose before things go to shit regarding her necklace and it’s !!!!!! it shows how much he understands human nature. i kinda ship them. aaaanyway. i definitely think he will return, his arc is not done.
- ROSE TICO SMILING AND BEING HAPPY. ROSE TICO RIDING THAT KANGAROO CREATURE AND ENJOYING LIFE. i treasured those scenes a lot. she’s a great combo of feisty and childlike, tough and innocent. gosh, she reminds me of bonnie bennett so much ;___;
- general hux. yall, it’s true. it’s all true. hux may have won me over. hux in TFA was just a lite over-the-top villain imo. but here??? he’s such a fun, dynamic character, rian gave him a lot of fun, humorous moments. and honest to god, he’s also given some humanity. when kylo takes over, he is genuinely affected and disturbed by his level of aggression. and he’s....idk, much less evil in this one. probably because of the humor. he just seems like a man dead-set on fulfilling his mission, brainwashed to the core. and underneath the brainwashing, he seems to be your average overwhelmed white dude. i don’t think he’ll be redeemed or anything but...it’s weird how at the end of TLJ he is probably the MOST reasonable dude from the first order???
- there’s this great little message about failure. i think here TLJ was inspired by Rogue One. because a lot of the characters in this movie learn to let go and accept defeat. you can’t always save everyone, you can’t always fight back. sometimes, the brave thing is to retreat and treasure the ppl you love. so i def liked that.
- GODDAMN GHOST YODA. i honestly thought i’d hate it because...gimmick, amirite? but that scene with luke was SO emotional and also funny and visceral and just - i was a bit teary-eyed, ME, THE GRINCH. i was suddenly nine again, watching star wars for the first time. ANYWAY.
- luke skywalker deserves a separate entry. mark hamill did so much with this character in the last few scenes. also some of the stuff he says about the force in this movie is legit beautiful and i love how he criticizes the vanity of the jedi - because this was what was missing from the prequels. anakin fell because the council was tone-deaf. the jedi are often responsible for their own doom and so they must always be vigilant - which is a goddamn thankless job. i love that luke acknowledges this.
-luke/leia moment. GAAAAH. HE KISSES HER FOREHEAD GOODBYE AND SHE KNOWS HE’S NOT COMING BACK FROM THIS. I DIED.
- in that order of business, leia finally FIIIINALLY gets to show off a bit and use the force in a pro-active manner. it’s also clear to me that episode 9 would’ve been the story of her and “ben” and i think she would have been the catalyst for his eventual development. but sadly, we’ll never see that ;____;
-there is some gorgeous cinematography and visual direction in this movie. particularly in the third act, on that salt planet? the red trails? shivers.
-i didn’t hate any of the new creatures like i thought i would??? probably because they were used sparingly and with a sense of humor.
Stuff i kind of didn’t like:
- phasma. phasma, phasma, phasma. WHAT was that??? like tell me that wasn’t anticlimactic as hell. she was, sadly, a pointless character. unless she somehow survived the fire and destruction, which i doubt, i really don’t see the point of casting wonderful gwendolyn christie just to stand there in armor.
- MAZ KANATA. is barely in this. i call bullshit.
-sigh, okay so i loved rose to death, but her arc revolved way too much around finn. on the one hand i get it, on the other hand.... i was hyped because ppl were saying she gets this big moment to shine. and granted, imo, she shines every moment she’s on screen. but i think her climactic scene was... *fart noises*. it’s completely centered around finn. she saves him basically, and it’s definitely heartfelt and lovely but also...it’s finn’s moment 100%. because it’s him who has to learn about his own worth. i do think they make a good team and i ship them a little bit, but the one-sided kiss was not satisfying and i’m tired of having to watch my darling woc give their love and devotion freely, only to be  tertiary characters in their own story. like, imo, it should’ve been rose who flew straight into that cannon and tried to take it down for her sister. she should’ve been the one determined to take it down. and it should’ve been finn to save her and tell her they must find meaning in other things. finn definitely cares for her and in the last scene we have of him, he’s tending over rose and waiting for her to wake up BUT. will rose ever be number one for anyone, like the white girls, i wonder? eh, i’m probably just grumpy old aunt. she does get to have an internal world, she’s a believable human being, she matters. the thing is, white girls in these movies can bend their little finger and they’re considered worthy and complex. rose has to jump through hoops to be seen the same way. anyway.
- i liked poe dameron’s arc, which is “hey, maybe i should stop posturing and listen to women more lol” which is “learn when to retreat and stand down” but...honestly, you hire gorgeous oscar isaac who can give you real emotional weight and you just...kinda under-utilize him. yes, he did a lot of stuff, but he...didn’t take time to internalize it. this dude feels like he’s got a lot of demons and conflicting desires and a rich inner life, yet we only skim the surface of that. like, he’s aways in go-mode, we rarely get a quiet moment with him. like pls fix this, episode 9.
-luke’s reaction to han’s death is pfffffffffffff. maybe we’ll get more in a deleted scene?
- also....can we stop pussyfooting and legit talk about han as a dad? because they keep hinting he wasn’t a good one, nor a very good husband to leia. but...it’s very unsatisfying to keep hearing about it without good storytelling to back it up.
- the world-building & the origins of the first order. i had problems with this in TFA and, big surprise, i still have problems with it here. basically, why has the first order taken over the new republic? how did they gain support? were there remnants of the old empire that survived and thrived as the first order? what about the knights of ren? luke mentions kylo took some students with him when he destroyed the jedi temple, so....what about those guys? like, this very fraught and war-torn landscape doesn’t have a solid history. how did A become B? why is every corner of the galaxy oppressed? why are some planets thriving more? are they all arm-dealers??? i find that hard to believe. yeah, we have the expanded universe for that, we have books and comics etc. but i need these movies to give us a sense of their own universe. i’m...still not convinced.
-lolol, snoke dies like a bitch. and it’s so anticlimactic and duuuumb. dude, a five-year old coulda seen that coming but your ancient super powerful ass couldn’t? laaaame. he’s like “oh, yes, i sense no more conflict in you, kylo ren. just a deep certainty”. YES FOOL, because he’s decided to remove u, because he’s confident he wants rey, and not you, by his side. it was soooo lame. but i guess we had to remove him to make the audience think kylo was turning good for a second there.
-which reminds me... and you probably saw this coming, i hate the idea of “turning”. rey keeps talking about ben turning to the light. and this verb annoys me to no end. it’s made clear that they both already have a lot of light and darkness in each other. it’s about finding balance. where’s my grey jedi??? episode 9 pls????
Extra Reylo stuff i didn’t see mentioned which i adored:
- during their first force-bond moment when they sense each other, kylo ren runs out of the medical unit and into the corridor like a goddamn luckless teenager, expecting to see rey pop up in a prom dress.  it’s precious. i love awkward!kylo. also rey tries to shoot him bc she thinks he’s actually there and kylo bends down, thinking he was shot. it’s a rly cool moment. and it doesn’t feel malicious like, he doesn’t expect anything less from her.
- there’s so much charged electricity between them and it’s not all sexual. it’s kinda mystical and i dig it. i’m weirdly reminded of xavier and magneto??? as in two enemies who have such a rich history and whose bond transcends human morality.
-OKAY. i saw no one talking about this but THAT GODDAMN SNOW WHITE SCENE. so rey decides she’s going to turn kylo to the light because that’s their one hope of defeating the first order etc. luke tries to stop her, but she’s like i’m going after my man. okay. she gets on the falcon, then she puts herself in this casket-like pod and AND. we get this lovely, breath-taking sequence of her arriving at the first order base, slipping gently into the hangar in her casket. and she’s def nervous. AND THEN. she looks up through the glass and there’s steam at first and through the steam we see kylo’s face, looking down at her wistfully. IT’S SO WEIRDLY FAIRY-TALE WTF. and then ofc the guards come in to shackle her. BUT JESUS. the prince looking into the casket to find snow-white WHAT ARE THESE AESTHETICS. it felt like a nod to the infamous scene in TFA where he carries her bridal style. it’s very fairy-tale-esque.
- i love that in the scene with the multiple reys, when she reaches through the mirror to see her parents, the shadowy figure who appears and touches her hand seems at first to be kylo and then she realizes it’s herself. i also love that she talks to kylo about that experience. GAH.
- i just rly loved that there was so much humanity in their interactions.
Reylo stuff which sort of bothered me/left me wanting more:
- like excuse u rian,  during the praetorian guards fight, i needed more moments where kylo looks at rey and is worried for her sake. i needed that fight to be a bit more visceral and about the two of them and their survival. they do fight together and it’s great but then...they’re sort of separated and carry their own small battles (i did love how rey saved him with that lightsaber throw)
- the whole “you come from nothing, you are nothing.” yea yeah, he’s a dummy who doesnt know how to express his feelings, he’s mr. darcy x 1000 of faux pas. but i still think adam driver’s acting went a little much there. the way he delivered that line was a bit off for me. ofc, he follows it with “but not to me”, because he’s basically proposing to her, but i needed a bit more, an extra line from him confirming her importance. or maybe no extra line, but a bit more feeling. did i mention i love wrecked!kylo? the “please” killed me haha.
Final thoughts:
- enjoyed it more than i expected to, and it does operate with way more nuance than TFA but it stiiiill fell short with some characters. it didn’t have the weight of rogue one for me, but it’s more lighthearted and entertaining, which i appreciate, cuz it reminded me of my childhood. and ultimately, whether we like it or not, disney does operate on nostalgia. all in all, it’s a worthy star wars movie, 8/10. rian deserves an A-. (he also wrote this thing and whoaaa...i wonder how much more ambiguous and dark this movie woulda been if he’d been given full non-disney freedom)

You know what, you should rank TVD ships! It'd be fun to read and I think it's really difficult to decide which ships really are the best (all the non-canon Bonnie ships obvs 😂). But anyway, Idk if you feel like doing it but I wanted to request it because I'm a bit evil and also, I enjoy your rants and long text posts more than pretty much anything else on this hellsite!
bahaha, grl you always get me going
i don’t have time to rant too much but
0. the ship we were robbed of: bonnie/julian IM SORRY NEVER QUITTING CRACK
1. bonkai - he was all about her & he was a compelling antihero, we saw a new facet of her around him. first guy to really push her boundaries and make her rethink her choices. hotass couple, still going strong in the AU where julie plec isnt a racist.
2. bamon - they legit have so much history and development and that great transition from hate to love which isn’t phoned in or rushed. as that wise dude from stranger things poignantly said: “You’ve got chemistry, history, plus the real shit, shared trauma.”
3. klonnie - mainly because the show didn’t get its paws on it so it couldn’t actually ruin it. the potential is amazing tho. it would have made klaus bearable (have u guys seen him on TO??? what a self-important rube NOT SORRY) and it would have given us a conflicted bonnie. also i love it when the couple is equally matched in strength.
4. bonenzo - this ship would be higher on the list if it had started circa season 5. because THAT’s when it should have started. their scenes are great and they do have lots of chemistry, but they also got the least exposure and build-up of any big tvd ships. which sucks ass. i needed more of them and written more consistently. also what’s up with season 8 bonnie? getting ready to sacrifice herself for him left and right? have we learned nothing from b*eremy? jesus. but season 7 bonenzo was lit. i just hate that they ushered in this ship at the last moment instead of giving it proper time to grow. in other news, is julie secretly alt-right? tune in to find out more
5. kennett - oh, how my heart still softly sings for this gone too soon ship. it had a couple of smol moments, it could’ve been great. possibly as great as bonkai, because it would’ve been a sweet combo of bamon and bonkai. alas, julie is definitely flying a confederate flag.
6. bonnie/tyler - yaaas, this would’ve been lit as fuck. because tyler is so good to his girlfriends, he’s attentive and cool and just a great guy. i can imagine them laughing in bed together, solid ship 10/10.
7. bonbekah - i got swerved on this ship by @irresistible-revolution who writes fantastic oneshots about them. and rebekah would love to fuck (with) bonnie. speaking of which…
8. batherine - omg yall. remember those early days in s4 when katherine was teasing bonnie and trying to get under her skin? SIGN ME UP. what a hot crack.
9. stefonnie - love the vibe they have, although i think stefan became caroline’s dude circa season 4 and it’s hard to see him with anyone else. but i do love their early friendship and that intimacy that could’ve developed if julie and her team weren’t protesting outside with tiki torches.
10. bonnie/nora - i put this low on the list because we got fooled with this ship, namely that we’d get more of it. it was queerbait at its finest. i never learn. but the potential is amazing again.
11. bonnie/silas - SIGH, this could’ve been great. imagine silas developing a thing not for elena doppelganger but for the descendant of the wife he scorned. amazing. ofc, he was an ugly beast/jeremy when he interacted and was interested in bonnie. he was only hot evil stefan when he killed her dad. julie is the zodiac killer, pass it on.
12. bonlijah - sadly, elijah is all about katherine/elena/hayley in the TVD/TO universe. but it would have been a smouldering dynamic.
13. monnie - they woulda been cute. slightly dull, but cute.
14. baroline/belena etc. - putting these low on the list because while i do love these dynamics in theory, in practice bonnie got shafted by my girls quite a bit. baroline is definitely the better of the two, seeing as elena tried to kill bonnie once or twice ugh.
15. bonnie/shane - wasted potential. another dude in the long line of guys who *seemed* to be into her, only to trick her and cause her loads of pain. cuz ha, black women don’t deserve feelings, amirite?
16. bonnie/luka - low on the list cuz see above. and okay, luka was decent but had a screwy dad with a weird agenda. still, i think this one hurt more because bonnie was so happy around him.
17. bonnie/ that rando guy in her cheerleading dream whom she stabs repeatedly - umm, hot? that dude gave her really good looks, like he dug getting killed by her.  but he also seemed kinda douchey so pass.
18. bonnie/ben - or that waiter guy who tricked and hurt her back in season 1. in other news, julie likes steve bannon.
19. beremy - fuck this ship tbh.
20. bonnie/the gilberts in general - cuz fuck that too.
21. bonnie/alaric - omg yall, remember when we had that stupid scare pre-season 7? because all signs pointed to his sorry ass as her new love interest? canon show! alaric can bite my ass, he is dull and depressing. the only time i can ship this is in AU when @irresistible-revolution writes for them (which she did in a bonkai oneshot, bless her) that’s how specific it’s gotta be.
22. bonnie/mystic falls - one good thing the finale did is send bonnie off somewhere else cuz that town is literally her death sentence.
and that’s it! i think? if there’s anyone else, they’re probably somewhere between beremy and bonnie/the gilberts. hope u enjoyed!
*says she doesnt have time to rant, does it anyway*
