I think some of you need to learn the difference between being illiterate and lacking critical thinking.
#text#idk im just a bit tired of ppl calling someone illiterate when really they just lack critical thinking#the term is actualy critical literacy which is a form of critical thinking#you can be literate and still lack critical literacy and critical thinking#you can be illiterate and still have critical literacy and critical thinking skills#no ppl aren't illiterate for taking the text at face value#they are lacking in critical thinking because they refuse to analyze the text past its face value#THAT is the issue here. ppl not not becoming illiterate they are lacking the skill of critical thinking#also idk just kinda feels rude to throw illiterate around like an insult#because literacy in of itself is a skill not everyone has the ability to learn#theres a more nuanced conversation about literacy and the decline in critical thinking#but thats for its own post not the tags
