I love this bean so much.

Easily my number one fav in the Rodamrix series. Fortegreen/Shapeshifter is the only one that comes close... but then again, it's for completely different reasons.

This is a biased as fuck post, not even gonna lie. This post is literally just me stating over and over that I love Red in as many different ways as I can. Also recapping the plot.

First of, I'm just a huge sucker for the whole "benevolent impostor" thing in Among Us fanfics, that one Impostor that doesn't wanna kill crewmates, so my biases inmediately kicked in.

Second of, Red is one of my favourite colors, so there's even more bias there.

Thirdly, he beat up Purple with a mop. S++ tier moment right there.

Then the rest of the plot starts happening and oh boy... yeah, Red has it rough to say the least.

When the crew arrives at Polus, Impostor ghosts/hallucinations/nightmares, whatever they are... they don't let Red sleep. Like, at all. They just keep chanting "kill crewmates red, do it ya bitch" over and over and over.

And you know, since Crewmates and Impostors are kinda enemies, he can't tell his friends (Blue and White) or any of the other Crewmates in Polus what he's going through, so he just has to suck it up. Yeeeaah, you don't need me to tell you that sort of thing would fuck up a person. Or bean, in this case, whatever.

Then he has to team up with THIS guy. With the Shapeshifter, of all people.

Red, the guy who doesn't wanna kill anyone, having Olive, the guy who wants to see the world burn AND the biggest menace to society in the series thus far, as the only person who knows his secrets.

...

Yeah, you pretty much know that this won't end well the second you see them shake hands. And surprise to nobody, that did not end well. RIP to Yellow.

So now Red has to deal with the guilt of being responsible for Yellow's death AND the fact that he can't do anything to Olive because now the bastard is trusted by all the Polus people. Yaaaaay, sad times are real.

Thankfully, the mini Yellow didn't see Red as a bad person. And thanks to the baby, White and Blue now know about Red being an Impostor. With a really, really emotional and wholesome scene. Probably the first time something good happened to Red in the whole series, to be honest.

Things are looking up for my boy, hurray!

Then the last episode of Season 1 happens, Shapeshifter pretty much makes everyone in Polus go die with the tentacle things he didn't use in the OG for whatever reason, yada yada yada, and off to Mira we go! ... I think.

We'll just have to wait until Season 2, see what happens there. TBH, I kinda wanna see Red and The Red scientist that worked with Dr. White to have at least ONE interaction. Maybe they're related or whatever, idk. That's just my theory for the moment.

Yeah, in conclusion, I love the Red amogus bean in the Rodamrix youtube series. This wasn't really much of an deep dive analisis, as it was mostly just me typing down what we already know at this point.

Hopefully the next rambling post will be more coherent, but who knows.

I've got some questions about your cyberpunk reader sagau idea like—

What exactly does Reader's body mods allow? Like, how do they enhance the body? Why abilities do they grant to reader? What limitations are there and do they limit Reader's in ways an organic body wouldn't

Before and during the hunt for Reader, how do they maintain their artificial components? Do any of them break beyond repair forcing reader to leave them behind?

Also the Reader having body mods for conquest is a great explanation for why it takes so fucking long for them to bleed. They're too fucking invincible to bleed unless they get done in real hard.

What do people like Dainsleif or Dottore's think of reader and their body mods? I mean the body mods were compared to Khaenri'ah's machinery and Dottore is Dottore.

Is anyone against hunting down Reader? If so, for what reasons?

These are some good questions but I haven't thought all of them through, but so far:

1. When writing the first idea, I imagined the reader being a bit like militech version of Adam Smasher, with bits of my own V from cyberpunk 2077 mixed in i.e. 60-70% of the body being converted to metal with only the head and chest organ area mostly fleshy. So the reader would be durable AF, capable of shrugging off a couple of blows from the archons assuming they didn't use elemental powers, incredible strength and speed, increased jump height and other combat mods like mantis blades or rocket launchers.

2. As for limitations; cyberpsychosis would be the main problem because of just how many mods they have. From a more physical side — blending in is damn near impossible, and all that cyberware is heavy, so it's going to be a challenge not waking up half of teyvat when going for a walk and swimming would also be difficult/our of the question as you'd just sink to the bottom.

Also, the electro element would be quite dangerous, as any attack would act like an EMP blast which could short-circuit important life-preserving systems.

2.5. currently I'm also headcannoning that the combat cybermods require A Lot of energy, and if you don't have that, the body will forcefully shut down for like 72h to generate energy, regardless of where you are...

3. I haven't thought about mods breaking, but I think the reader might be able to MacGyver old Khaenri'ahn tech to replace broken/lost pieces, though it wouldn't be a perfect match — like wearing boots two sizes too small. Before the hunt the reader really wouldn't need to do that, as their tech is durable as all hell and would have only needed cleaning once in a while.

4. Dottore, as a scholar, would be incredibly intrigued. He didn't believe in the divine, though he acknowledged their existence, but the reader would be something else... Like the pinnacle of human evolution, the seamless blending of flesh and steel would entrance him past the point of obsession. He may have enough self-control not to try and disassemble the reader, but be prepared for days worth of ceaseless questions, and his experiments would only grow more gruesome and brutal if you do not put a stop to it.

As for Dainslief... He would be conflicted. The reader's body would remind him too much of the horrors Khaenri'ah and it's leader inflicted on others, and of the war machines still wreaking havoc across Teyvat. But the reader bearing similarities to said machines, which once protected his home, protected him, would also make him feel...comfort? Idk how to describe it, but it's like the feeling of knowing someone is looking out for you, even when you have lost everything.

5. As for who's against the hunt; Barbados comes to mind because he too is an impostor and would be a hypocrite if he felt otherwise, though he keeps such thoughts to himself.

Nahida because she is connected to Teyvat so deeply that it's feelings would mingle with her own, and she couldn't shake the wrongness she feels when near the Impostor.

Alhaitham too, but his is more logical deduction; why would a creator try to fit into the standards made by their creations? It's utterly foolish to base their belief off an imagined appearance when it is your actions they should see.

Also the harbingers and the Tsaritsa, but those I'd say are pretty obvious as they seek to destroy Celestia, and a betrayed creator seems like the perfect rallying call.

wow i actually finished some writing. this isn't the best im trying to push through writers block but ykno. it's something at least. idk what else to say but here

"barbatos."

he startles as he whips around. his shock and confusion only increases as he sees meili with zhongli by her side. venti blinks owlishly, gaze darting between the two adepti. after everything that's happened, he didn't expect mei to ever be at zhongli's side again.

"mei?" he winces as she scowls at the nickname. "zhongli… have you both… mended your relationship?"

"no," mei spits. "it ended as soon as morax dug his spear into my side and killed my little gem. speaking of," she turns to zhongli and smiles mockingly. "would you like to deliver the news? the wind pest won't believe it out of my mouth."

venti tries to ignore the pain that stabs through his chest at her words. he glances towards zhongli and frowns. the man is staring at the ground, avoiding eye contact with a guilty expression on his face.

"the divine one is dead," zhongli says. "the impostor had the golden blood. the all-creator is gone."

what?

venti recoils, narrowing his eyes at zhongli as if trying to see through his words. it can't be. the all-creator is alive and well. he may not have felt their warmth in some time but that doesn't mean they're gone.

"you…" venti coughs and shakes his head. "you can't play a prank like that, morax, not about our divinity. that's just cruel."

mei laughs (laughs!) and rolls her eyes. "out of all the archons, would morax joke about the demise of their divine grace?" she drawls and pushes morax by the shoulders. he stumbles and looks up. it feels like a weight slamming into him as venti meets his gaze.

zhongli is in pain. he is mourning and he's ashamed, guilty, and those feelings are radiating off him.

"i saw their blood," zhongli croaks. he scrunches his expression to stop tears from falling. "their blood stained my weapon. they died in front of me by my own hand." his voice breaks and all venti can do is stare blankly. there's no way.. no way that it can be true.

"the impostor hunt ended because they died, but the impostor was never an impostor to begin with."

mei laughs but he can barely hear it. never an impostor… zhongli had seen it. there's no way that he would feel regret over killing in the name of the divine creator unless they made a huge mistake.

a mistake.

no… please no.

he's interrupted from his thoughts as mei pulls his hair to raise his head to look at her. when did he get on the floor? did the news shock him that much? (of course it did. their grace is dead they're dead and it's his fault he contributed to their death he helped to kill the all-creator it's his fault his fault)

"how do you feel barbatos?" mei sneers. meili grins but venti can see the hidden emotions of pain in her eyes. "tell me. how do you feel knowing you were wrong? tell me how you feel knowing you threw away thousands of years of friendship for nothing?"

venti flinches back but she doesn't let go. meili is in pain but she's angry. he's never been on the other side of her anger and it's terrifying. mei has always been soft, comforting and warm. this meili in front of him is cold that burns with an icy fierceness. this meili in front of him is one that burns with the need to avenge, to cause them pain in any way she can.

"perhaps if you two had listened to me, maybe my little gem would still be here! we could've sung to the glaze lilies that appeared around my precious gem. we could sing and tell them stories of guizhong and your old friend." meili narrows her eyes, hostility burning in her eyes (her eyes that are normally so soft, a gentle gaze, a comforting presence). "but you both had decided you were better than me. you don't regret killing my little gem. you regret killing the all-creator."

venti doesn't get a chance to even think of a response before she kicks him harshly in the side. he's kept on the ground by her foot and he watches as she glares at zhongli with such ferocity that it scares him.

"my little gem liked cooking with me. we would make dinner each night together and i would sing. they would join me sometimes and it was like teyvat lit up with happiness at their voice. they would have water fights with xiao, with my little birdie, and it warmed my heart to hear them so selfishly indulge in childish joys."

meili increases the pressure against him and venti doesn't resist. he deserves it. he deserves her anger. he deserves all of it.

"they had a headband they made. it was an imitation of my horns so we would match. they wanted to be similar because i was their mom."

she laughs bitterly before she stomps her foot into venti's gut. by the time he's recovered, she's already walking away. (she's holding her side and he's reminded that zhongli had hurt her. he hurt mei. venti has also hurt mei. mei had always been too good for them how did they think they were better than her)

"if my little gem didn't bleed gold, you would've killed them without remorse." her tone is carefully even. she doesn't turn around but the tension in her body is easily visible. "they deserved to live. if they bled normally, you would have taken a child from me without guilt."

meili turns her head to glare at them through unshed tears. she's going to cry. mei never cries. they did this to her; they hurt her beyond repair. "you cared only for their divinity. you do not care for them."

venti glances towards zhongli. he's staring at the ground, hunched over with his hands to his chest. he doesn't make an attempt to reply to meili, to retort. the pain venti feels… it's probably doesn't compare to zhongli's. he doesn't know how to entirely feel about it.

"morax, barbatos," she starts. she stops to rub at her eyes and her voice breaks. it hurts. they hurt such a strong woman, someone who has always been the support pillar. a kind gentle woman they have broken. "stay away from me, from my home, and my family. that includes xiao, morax. cut both of our contracts. you have done enough harm."

meili laughs, through her tears and through her anger. venti can't bring himself to look up at her, staring at the ground in front of him blankly. numb. "if either of you dare come close to me, to my home, i will kill you. i am not your mei, i am not your friend. if i ever see you in the future, i will not hesitate to tear you limb from limb. i'll use your mortal body as fertilizer for the glaze lilies my little gem has left behind. that's a promise."

she turns on her heel and walks away. venti wants to reach out, wants to cry and be held in her arms while she sings softly. it will never happen. he's lost her. he's ruined it. he ruined their friendship, their bond, and there's nothing he can do to fix it.

meili is gone. the all-creator is gone. venti can't even be angry at zhongli for his actions because he knows he would've done the same if the impos- if the all-creator was in front of him at the time.

he looks to zhongli, to the culprit of murder, and he knows his guilt doesn't compare to the ex-geo archon. wordlessly, zhongli summons his polearm. vortex vanquisher pulses weakly and venti can see the golden blood that's stained on the spearhead.

meili was right. he should've listened to her.

this is a mistake he can never undo.

How does Lucy & Emmet figure out about Rex being an Alternate Emmet or do they just believe his story?

thank you for this question cuz i really wanted to rewrite this AU a bit 🤣 they didn't believe his story immediately

so, long story short..ish, and kinda messy explanation.. when Rex came back from his timeline, it kinda happened like that in the comic, but the continuation in that comic, they didn't believe him and think he's crazy or som sh1t, but after reasoning with them, and like, telling everything that he knows about when he was Emmet, but he can't get through to them cuz the Emmet copy just also knows what he also knows. this makes Rex start to just panic and pass out

so, he was brought to the hospital, he was like, out for 3 days

when he wakes up, the other visited him, they still don't believe his stories cuz like, almost everything he tellls them are like, the most obvious stuffs, like, about the kragle, how emmet was the special, the apocalypse happening, them being taken, that whole jiz.

and Rex wasnt thinking straight at the moment, he was in the verge of panicking anyways so yeah but they decided mostly Emmet...and Unikitty to just befirend him

tho, Rex was planning something tho... he plans to get Emmet out of the picture whenever they're alone. of course, he was hesitant on the first times, but when they were alone, like, maybe they're alone in the alley or somthin, (idk when, still thinkin about it lol) Rex kinda like, ambushes Emmet(?) they were like, fighting and sh1t, kind of like in the undar scene in the movie.

Emmet was building mech and stuff to defend himelf cuz he doesnt want to fight him, Rex just using his fist. but as they were fighting, Rex was telling Emmet everything at the same time, how he was the OG Emmet, how he suffered for 4 years under the dryer, how he's the reason he suffered there and no one rescued him, all that jazz, up to the point where Rex just stopped fighting and just started to cry, he was just so hurt.

Emmet goes to comfort him, he doesn't say a word but he just went up to Rex and hug him. Rex hesitantly hugged back, he just needed a hug so badly. He started apologizing to him that he tried to kill him.

and then Lucy and the others came to the scene and just sees them hugging. (and oh yeah, the other were just watching them fight, they were about to intervene but Unikitty stopped them cuz of what Rex's saying, so yeah, i guess that's how they found out Rex really is Emmet)

Emmet then brings Rex back home to rest, and Rex did, he instantly fell asleep, trying to murder your perfect past copy and having an outburst after that is exhausting. Emmet and Lucy just talks about it while Rex was asleep

then the next day, Rex wakes up seing them like nothing happened, yada yada everything is forgiven cuz it was all just a misunderstanding, a very confusing misunderstanding, they now properly talked about it and stuff

and before the whole fight thing, Rex just believes that i dunno, that Emmet is an alien or som sh1t and brainwashed them to believing that he's the real Emmet, so he's very angry at him and just acts like everything's fine and dandy until they're all alone and then he now tries to kill the "impostor" but nah, he really is just a normal Emmet but minus the whole undar trauma

Welp, this game is all the rave all of a sudden and irdk how since the game's pretty much been here forever lol but it's still fun so I had to jump on the bandwagon and here we are! Thanks to @angelsparkers for helping me realize I wasn't writing complete garbage and helping me to get through it even though she didn't even know she was doing that. So yeah thanks for that.

Peter

Crewmate: Peter is that crewmate that will 100% call you out on your bs, because he knows the game a little too well for you to be able to pull anything over him(because of all that free time waiting on patrol). You think all that stuff with the avengers didn't teach him strategy? Ha! This guy is PEAK detective. Gets his tasks done fast and when he's done is probably spending his time monitoring people on security or vitals. It only took him like 2 weeks to memorize all the maps and where everything is, so if you say you were in navigation, you better believe he's gonna ask you what task you were doing there. And if you don't answer to his liking, Peter will sound the "sus" alarm on you in two point five seconds and have everyone voting you out. He's probably the only person that could figure out MJ when she's the impostor. So if you're the impostor, watch your words and make sure your alibis are strong cuz little Petey ain't playin' no games. Definitely gets attacked from time to time by those people that are always like "sMaRt PpL rUiN tHe GaMe"

Impostor: He's pretty much the most average impostor. Sometimes he doesn't know what to say when people call him sus and he'll get voted out because he's being "too quiet" or because Ned keeps defending him. He'll mess up every now and then but for the most part, he's pretty decent. His style is usually to stay in the vents most of the game and kill when only one person's around. He probably bribes Ned to not rat him out by promising him that he won't kill him.

Name: It used to be just Peter, but soon he wanted an actual cool name so he chose Sherlock because of all the times when he was "too smart" and won the game too quickly and people would go "pack it up Sherlock" and vote him out.

Favorite color to be: It used to be red, but he quickly found that the more he was red the more people found him "sus" so now he's usually either blue or cyan

Ned

Crewmate: Pretty average crewmate. 80% of the time is covering for Peter, even if Peter is the impostor. Won't do much calling people out unless he's absolutely sure that he saw a kill or vent. Pretty chill and easily persuadable. You'd definitely want him on your team. If he ever gets wrongfully ejected he's the one that pitifully tries to plead his case saying stuff like "what???" and "guys it's not me!!!!" which doesn't really convince anyone and just makes him look more guilty. He'll still do his tasks after though.

Impostor: He's the impostor that doesn't want to be the impostor. If you're texting then maybe he can hold his own, but if you're doing voice chats, there's no way this guy is getting past ANYONE. He has so many tells that it's ridiculous. Is actually scared to vent too much because he's always paranoid that someone's gonna be right there when he jumps out. 8/10 the crewmates win when he's the imposter because he'll just kill like only two people the entire time or gets caught really early on.

Name: Probably some sci-fi reference like r2d2 or Potter

Favorite color to be: Yellow or white because he says those are the most "innocent" colors and he'll be less likely to get voted if he's those (not true but we'll let him believe it)

MJ

Crewmate: Suspicion times 100. Her motto: trust no one. Will get you kicked out in a heartbeat with a quick "trust me. if it's not them vote me next." An absolute unit but will never be caught getting emotional over a game. If she's ever wrongfully ejected her last words will be "whatever. go ahead. vote me and lose." She'll just come back in the next game with a vengeance and false accusations ready, not caring if the entire team loses because of it. She's especially dangerous to have because people usually trust her word. She always finds a way to seem the least suspicious. Though sometimes she'll get suspected because of her quiet nature. There's always that one guy that's ready to go "uR qUiEt ThAt'S sUs!!"

Impostor: If MJ is the impostor, you can just throw your whole phone away. You're not winning that game. Like, ever. She will do whatever it takes to win, even sell out her own her partner. On the off chance that you catch her being suspicious, she'll sabotage a bunch of things so that you can't call meetings and then she'll kill you when no one's around. She is ruthless and will hurt your feelings with the way that she will own everyone in the game. Hardly anyone ever expects her. Thrives on venting. You won't see her you'll just be doing a task and suddenly you'll be dead.

Name: Used to be just MJ but she got annoyed with all the people in the messages who always assumed she meant Michael Jackson or Michael Jordan so she changed it to Michelle

Favorite color to be: She literally doesn't care either way. Won't change the gameplay so why bother? Whatever color she ends up with she'll be fine.

Betty

Crewmate & Impostor: The most average player of them all. She wins some, she loses some. Nice partner to have though, because she'll never give you away. Probably the first to die most times. If she ever gets wrongfully ejected she's the one that uses her last words to say who she thinks it and doesn't even try to plead her case once it starts to look bad for her. She just finished the rest of her tasks.

Name: Probably either her name or some nickname or inside joke. Idk she just seems like the type of person to have a reference to something that absolutely nobody knows

Favorite color to be: Pink. Just because she likes pink.

Flash

Crewmate: Claims things are sus even if they aren't. Will totally be biased based on names. Anybody who knows him will never count him as a credible source. Gets voted out quickly alot because of how annoying he is in the game.

Impostor: He's the easiest to figure out. He's the impostor that obnoxiously accuses literally everyone else. And in all capital letters too. "ITS RED I STG. IF IT'S NOT HIM VOTE ME NEXT!" Calls everyone sus and always claims he's seen people running from the body. He usually self-reports and goes for the easy marks in electrical. He's not that good (even though he thinks he is) and it takes anyone with a brain to figure him out. Peter and MJ are bane of his existence in that game. If he gets wrongfully ejected he'll rage and probably leave the game like the little crybaby he is.

Name: Spideys#1 because he's really just THAT obsessed. Or when he's really feeling "teenage boy" he'll be cOchieman

Favorite color to be: Red because sPiDeRmAn'S hIs BeSt FrIeNd (ahahaha if only he knew)

May

She didn't know this game at all until Peter introduced her to it one day because he was bored. She LOVED it. He had to pry it out of her hands after she kept repeating "Hold on, one more!" So she downloaded on her phone and now she plays it whenever she's bored.

Crewmate: Average. Same as Betty.

Impostor: The way May can actually dominate being the impostor is sort of scary. And she'd always be the last person you'd expect because she just has that trusting vibe about her. Sometimes she'll mess up and give herself away, but for the most part, she's pretty good. Doesn't vent much. Just like Ned, she doesn't trust it.

Name: Madonna

Favorite color to be: She doesn't care much but she prefers to be purple, cyan, or orange

Best Imposter Combos

Peter & Ned: Goes without saying. Nine times out of ten they're in the same room while playing this so they can just talk strategy to each other and take everyone out really quickly. Really annoying for everybody else, but they'll win so they're happy.

MJ & Peter: These two together are a force to be reckoned with. The second they see that they're both impostors they call each other up and get to business like they're on a mission. This stuff is serious. (More for Peter than MJ. She has to keep telling him that it's just a game.) He stays on security stuff, telling her when it's safe, and she racks up the kills. When things get heavy, they sabotage and then go on a spree. These two hardly ever lose. (When the whole squad is together whoever's in charge [if it's not Pete or MJ] usually puts the kill cooldown at max just in case these two get that they can't be at full power)

MJ & Betty: Betty isn't afraid to sacrifice herself so that they'll win and MJ is ruthless and quick with her kills. Both have the smarts to be able to be extremely persuasive and you'd hate for them to pick you to frame. Because being put against those two in the chatroom will lead you nowhere but abyss of space.

May & Peter: Parkers united. 'Nough said.
