Not sure who battler it's probably a mahoyaku person but to my Enstars exclusive educated brain battler just sounds like the third part of the godfather trinity. You could tell me the himeru story revealed a guy called battler and I'd be on board. Godfather, Priest and Battler and with their powers combined they can...idk be the idol mafia or something. The aristocracy the clerus and the common man. Gatekeeper also exists but I don't count him in their leagues gatekeeper is like the pearl to godfathers rose quartz I think (I have never even touched Steven universe beyond one video essay five years ago and some memes I have no idea if that actually adds up)

Anyway battler is from umineko! He's kinda like himeru (ran away when his dad remarried after his mom's death) and currently stuck in an eternal torturous game of wits murder mystery with a witch. Im just on episode 2 but the spoilers ive heard... i dont even know how we'll get there. Oh right! Idk if u saw my posts a few weeks ago but akira definitely played umineko. There was a random discussion in an earlier chapter that was just like wataru's monologue about girls vs guys at puberty in Rocket Start. And Raison d'etre as a whole is sooo much like umineko. Eccentric grandparent's fortune, the fear that an illegitimate child came to take the inheritance away, the blonde woman from the past... which in peepaw's case was them in their youth rather than a witch, but still. Etcetc im too tired but im sure there was more im forgetting now. Id like to go over that story again after finishing umineko, im sure it'll feel insightful to do so.

I get the bulk of my silly sounds (and a number of serious ones) from Freesound. I like the site because anyone can upload to it so you get a really huge variety, and one can also sort by public domain sounds so I can make sure my licensing is in order. The original recording session for the Wilhelm scream was recently uploaded there!

Sonnis's yearly free audio packs are also great for a beginner sound designer wanting to build up their library. They won't have recognizable silly sounds in there, but it's great for random sounds you sometimes need.

In so far as a list of recognizable silly sounds, I'm not sure if one exists! The Wilhelm is definitely the most popular, but I also find that searching for "cartoon" sounds will lead you to recognizable stuff sometimes too. I love this ask because most of the time as a sound designer I am trying very hard not to use recognizable sounds cause it'll take people out of the piece. But it's perfect for the shitposts!

you don’t have to create a onceler to join either of those! there’s plenty of ocs (deloraxed or not) that are in both of them :3

but if you rly wanna do a onceler, i think it’s okay if your gimmick matches an existing onceler, especially if the blog is no longer active. like how many oncelers themed around being monsters or curses do u think exist?? so many. countless, but they're all kewl bc what matters is how you approach the character and give it your own twist! unless it’s something super specific, i don’t think anyone would mind if another idk retail onceler existed for example (thinking of retail bc i’m at work rn abloo bloo)

if this is your first time joining, i'd definitely try to pick something you're passionate about as a theme or set of personality traits! it'll keep you going and strong at the start of it all before the ball officially gets rolling.

also idk if you plan to do art or not but dont be discouraged if you dont! or if you dont think your art "is good enough"!!! some of the biggest oncelers in the fandom (swag and gent are the immediate first to come to mind) had mods who didnt draw for their posts and they still were well received! what matters is how much the concept means to YOU and how much passion you put into it. and ultimately: what matters most is if you have fun with it! :3

so like if something isnt' fun anymore. change it! or dump it and start over! it's okay!

and if you do draw, just..draw...like idk maybe its just a me thing, but i sabotage myself hard if i focus too much on my askblog/rp art being like...good lmao. i just get it out there. what matters is im enhancing the scene/perspective/emotions of what im doing and adding to it so it can be as quick as a doodle, or something fully rendered that took me hours, what matters is that i dont get too hung up on how "good" it is and if it IS something that takes longer, that it's not making me miserable to work on it. if it is? fuck it, we doodle.

also, put yourself out there! approach people with ideas or whathaveyou. test the waters to see where the chemistry lies and if those characters' mods would wanna plot w you! or even just do one-shots to see have some fun/see where things go. the worst favor u can do urself is to sit there and like...stew in fomo and let shyness/fear/whatever hold you back. and if you dont have ideas or dont get any hits back, focus on your own plot for awhile, let ppl see your character in action, it might spur some inspo

idk if that stuff was what u were looking for but its stuff i generally recommend to anyone wanting to start rping and/or askblogging in the fandom (and everyone reading this totally should if u dont already)

So I was just scrolling on my phone when I came across a post. My fyp on everything is usually pretty gay, Because well, me. So I expected this post to be supportive. Instead, it was one of those posts that say gay people can't get into heaven. And I'm used to them. Normally, this doesn't bother me. I'm not quite sure why this one did.

Maybe it's because they added a Bible verse. I'm not sure. But suddenly, all I felt was fear. The same fear I felt as a kid. That fear of "What if I'm actually going to hell?"

And I'm not a Christian. I'm technically polytheist as I believe in multiple religions. (Falls under Pagan im pretty sure). So I do believe in the Christian God (just in a way slightly different to how he is portrayed). So it kinda still hits hard when I think I might be going to hell, even though, in my belief, I'd go to the afterlife that fits my religion (which is multiple so idk).

And it sucks, cause I had only recently came to terms with Christianity and how it impacted my life. I had finally come to terms with the Christian God and found peace in my beliefs as well as peace in my relationship with him. (Though distant because I do not worship him). Now I'm back to square one. (Well not square one, I'm further than that, but still).

So yeah. Also, I find it funny how I'll be like, "I don't have religious trauma" yet remember crying at night because I thought I'd go to hell because I questioned if God existed. Or the time I told a story from a religious Bible study thing I used to go to, and just had my friends look at me slightly horrified. (It wasn't even bad, but some adult came by, got told a short version and just kinda awkwardly walked away). So yeah. Maybe it doesn't count, but it definitely messed me up even if it wasn't major cult level.

Ok so one more post i wanna say to the rise fandom, and forgive me if i get something wrong I've only been here for 2 weeks.

1) Remain CAUTIOUSLY optimistic! Keep your expectations in check. Hope for the best but don't expect much, if something does come of this I'd imagine it might take longer than a week to hear any definitive news on the fate of the show, good or bad. I'd give it a month and that might still be a little early.

2) i know we all want the show on Netflix, damn I do paramount sucks, but there's probably some legal hoops they'd have to go through to make that happen if they even could. Paramount is now officially Nick's hosting service for their shows for streaming. Pretty sure the only reason Netflix got the exclusive rights for the movie was because at the time of development i don't think paramount plus even existed yet. Now that it does, and it's the only legal place to watch season 2 (in the US) if we get more seasons i think its more likely it'll be on Paramount.

3) if the show does get renewed expect at least about a year for it to return or to get trailers. I know we got boards out there but idk how far into development they got on those deleted episodes. I also don't know like who has like custody of those boards ya know? I imagine Nick but i also feel like the artist who worked on those boards have been releasing them i think? Either way the point is those episodes aren't finished. And the show has been on pause for like what, 2 years right? It would be pretty difficult to get everyone back. I garuntee a large number of the people involved have moved onto other projects and don't have the time to return to the show. Plus what was already developed might still need to be edited or cut due to the sudden change in dynamic at the end of the season 2 finale (mostly leo being dubbed the leader)

And why does it seem like we're taking his word as gospel on the fate of this show? Unless I'm getting people confused here, Everyone seemed to be talking about him talking about the show. So much so i assumed he was one of the creators, but i looked into it and he's not? Idk i kinda just glanced at his info but it seemed like the only involvement he had in Rise was creating a calendar (?) And i think creating the krangified challenge? I even asked my friend who got me into the show who was following it when it was airing and even they don't know who he is. Genuinely who is this person, just let me know if he's even a credible or reliable source. Cus unless it's coming right from the creators themselves im not convinced.

5) last thing. Please do not harrass people about the show! I've seen people try and pressure at least one youtube reviewer into reviewing it like he was the only thing standing in the way of season 3 like Nick was holding thw show at gun point til he reviewed it. (Not like that dramatic but also i don't think its going to make that much of a difference. Pretty sure these studios don't look at who's reviewing their show unless they're trying to copyright strike them) and please don't bug the people who were with or on the show. They probably can't tell you anything anyways cus ya know NDAs are a thing. Just please be civil 🙏 (but the Nick and Maybe Netflix and Paramount that's fine probably. It is always morally correct to bully corporations /hj)

Hi, I'm completely new to BL shows, just started Not Me and I love it!! So I wanted to ask what your favorite BL shows are, to get deeper into the genre, maybe some featuring Gun? He really stands out, I like him a lot. Thank you!!

Hiii! I made a BL rec list for my more obscure faves recently but as always tumblr hates me and is pretending it doesn't exist so I'm making a new one :))) since you're new here I'll just include all of my top faves atm, in no particular order-

(Note that this is just the shows I personally really loved and isn't meant to be an objective ranking. If your faves aren't on here don't take it personally.)

1. Theory of Love - Thai BL

It's my all time favourite BL and I think it will always occupy the top spot on the list for me. This was the show that made me fall in love with romance as a genre. It's such a well executed story that really explores love in it's many forms and was back then one of the first times I watched a romance and felt that I understood exactly why the main characters loved each other so much. A lot of people have differing opinions on this show but for me it's almost perfect. It's also an OffGun bl so if you're craving Gun's acting this will satisfy that for sure. They're both great in this.

2. A Tale of a Thousand Stars - Thai BL

Another great romance imo. Not an OffGun show but the main leads had incredible chemistry. The story was a bit clichéd at times but in a way that was very enjoyable. I liked the slow burn build up of their relationship and the heavier moments really added some much needed depth to the whole narrative. Watching this show as it aired was a great experience and Tian will forever be one of my all time favourite thai characters.

3. 3 Will Be Free - not a BL but a must watch

This was one of the first thai shows I ever watched and it will forever be one of my faves. The story is about three people from very different worlds ending up on the run from the mafia together and ending up falling in love. No shitty triangles tho, ot3 all the way! Mild, my favourite thai actress, is so iconic in this and it's Jennie's best role for sure. Everything about this show was amazing, iconic, never been done before, best thing ever!!!

4. Bad Buddy - Thai BL

Now this one is a bit... idk if you look at my posts on the show near the end it'll seem like I don't care for it. The ending wasn't what I'd hoped for. It felt disingenuous and unsatisfactory to me. Other people loved it tho so it's definitely about personal opinion. I really loved this show in a this can do no wrong sort of way up until half-way through until some things happened that made me lose some of that obsession. Still, it's a really cute romeo juliet style romcom and there's a wlw side ship that I would die for so I will definitely recommend trying it out! Just be prepared for a couple things to not make sense...

5. To My Star - Korean BL

Short and sweet story about a celebrity falling in love with his chef roommate. Loved every second of this. It was so adorable. Not much to say here except that s2 comes out soon so definitely watch it before that!

6. Cherry Magic - Japanese BL

The story of Adachi who wakes up on his 30th birthday to discover his virginity had landed him mind reading powers which reveal his perfect co-worker's secret crush on him. This show is super sweet and wholesome and funny. Absolutely delightful in every single way I cannot recommend this enough. There's also canon aroace rep! Can you believe!?!? It's amazing.

7. Dark Blue Kiss - Thai BL

This one is hella divisive. People either love the main ship or hate em. I'm sure you can guess where my allegiances lie... For me, PeteKao both represented some very real struggles of being in a long-term closeted relationship. I felt that their story was relatable, realistic despite the dramatisation, and one that was important to be told. People often misrepresent this show as a petty jealousy plot when it's really about dealing with your own insecurities over a secret relationship (for Pete) and learning to overcome your internalised homophobia and fear of being rejected by your loved ones (for Kao). So yeah, I'm definitely recommend it but I won't guarantee that you'll like it.

8. Light On Me - Korean BL

Love triangle done very right. I absolutely love this show. It was so simple and grounded and also cute and fluffy. All of the romantic and platonic relationships explored in the show were top-notch and it really had me so completely invested in every single character and their relationships. Overall, very good watch must recommend.

9. Puppy Honey - Thai Show w/ OffGun

Now while this isn't actually a BL show a lot of people still count it as one simply because it was OffGun's first show together. Puppy Honey is a short, 2 season show about a pair of best friends who all fall in love in the backdrop of their club. Emma and Rome are freshers while Porsche and Pick are their super seniors (that's the concept). While both ships are cute and fun in s1 I do recommend skipping the straights in s2 for optimal viewing experience bc their storyline is both boring and completely inconsequential to the rest of the plot. Still, PickRome were OffGun's first ship and it's always got a place in the fandom's hearts because of that.

10. Colour Rush - Korean BL

I really, really loved this one when it aired. It's such an interesting take on the colour based soulbonds concept. S1 was amazing. The storyline, cinematography and chemistry were all amazing. But then a lot of things changed in s2 and I've been too scared to watch it so... I highly recommend watching s1 but won't speak on s2 yet...
