8:30 AM. Phone vibrating next to your head.

You open your eyes forgetting where you were last night, Jean Kirstein's bed.

Shit.

“Well, I should probably get going then” You stand up from the couch and start to gather your things.

“Sure, sure. I’ll see you later,” Jean tells you with barely any emotion in his voice. All the caring he did for you last night, didn’t seem to matter anymore. 

You let yourself out of his apartment, hurrying down to your car to avoid anyone seeing you in the state that you were in.

The next few weeks, it was back to normal. Jean sat in front of you in class and didn’t speak to you unless he had something smart to say.

It was the class after an exam, the professor was handing back the tests.

You stop, waiting for what he possibly has to say to you. 

He continues, “Come over tonight, we will study.” 

You stare at him with no emotion. You don’t have the energy to deal with this. 

“Y/n, I’m serious, I really don’t want to see you fail,” He tells you.

You give in, “Fine, just text me a time,” and you walk away.

he was standing like his friend, iida—almost robotically, like a sentry who was on high alert. you could see the tired circles under his eyes though the shadow of the cap made them almost invisible. his casual outfit covered one of the essential pieces of hero gear; his gloves. it was almost as if he was expecting something bad to happen.

you drifted to his side, an amused smile on your face. "we've done this before, izu. nobody will notice!"

"at least i have a better chance," he raised an eyebrow at you, spinning you around in his arms. "your disguise is non-existent."

"i'm going to have to stop you right there," he gave one of those self-proclaimed (but also, he wasn't wrong) 'charming' smiles as he cut into your rambling. "being with you is my conviction. no one's gonna pressure me to do anything except marry you one day."

you blinked, a huge grin spreading on your face. all your worries were gone when you let his words sink in.

izuku realized what he really said. "or... something like that, you know?" he muttered under his breath, color rising to his cheeks as he looked away.

a moment passed as he held you on the museum rooftop, the date turning out much different than expected. he gasped out of nowhere, jostling you out of your thoughts. his little giggle made you suspicious.

"kacchan just texted me something really interesting; he got stuck in traffic and is trying to hide out in his car—oh."

"what?"

he turned his phone to you. it was a post titled 'NEW!" and underneath was a very blurry photo of you and izuku on the rooftop at that very moment.

you scrunched up your face. "your fans are weird."

he laughed openly. you stared at him with such adoration that you hoped the press got a picture of his blissful face so you could fawn over it later. BAKUGO

you heard the impatient jangle of keys as bakugo called after you. "we're gonna be late for our res, baby, get your beautiful ass in the car."

you giggled as you stuffed the last of the stuff you needed in your bag. you exaggerated a gasp and wagged a finger at him. "take me on a date first, mister."

he rolled his eyes. "i am literally trying to do that right now, but someone ain't listenin."

"fine, damn, i'll go on a date with you." you huffed, keeping up with the bit as you walked past him, tossing him a playful look over your shoulder. he smiled softly, following closely.

a bright flash made both of you freeze, though bakugo reacted quicker. he sat up in his seat, leaning over the wheel as he peered out your window at the car beside you. the two girls in the front row were fawning over the picture they just took.

he glared. "a couple of fans, i guess?"

you breathed out a sigh of relief. "thank god i was facing away from—"

you squeaked in surprise and reflexively covered your face. you leaned back in the seat to see a couple other teens laughing triumphantly over their rare photo.

bakugo observed your shock and panic silently before he laughed, thoroughly amused.

you groaned, slumping below the windows. "i was talking when they took that picture, i'll look distorted." you whined, voice muffled behind your hands.

he tsked. "i'm sure they got your good side, babe." he was trying to act calm but really his mind was racing at a million thoughts per minute. he had tinted windows. he made sure to make an appearance this morning so people would think he was out hero-ing for the whole day. was this a freak occurance, or...?

you opened your phone and were flooded with articles upon articles of you and bakugo on your dates. in hindsight, yes, those disguises were really bad. those pictures were low-quality but anyone who was anyone would be able to recognize bakugo's spiky blond hair.

everyone was speculating who the mystery person was and how their relationship would be, etc etc. you groaned again as you held up your phone to bakugo.

"what?" he whispered, breaking out of his thoughts.

"come down here," you motioned for him to join you below the window.

he scrunched up his face. "... i'm not doing—"

"come down here." you hissed, pulling him by his shoulder to crouch below the window's line of sight. he blinked, not entirely surprised or against the action. "look!"

he scrolled through, some news pages looking familiar. he sighed. "my agency was starting to talk about these rumors."

"why didn't you tell me?!"

"i thought they'd handle it!"

you pouted and he softened, kissing your cheek. "no one's gonna get a hold of any bad pictures of you, promise. i'll make sure of it."

you smiled. "really?"

he grinned, lovesick. "yeah." so what if the whole world would know you're his? he could deal with the details later.

"yeah." he assured you, pushing your knees down and swinging them to the side. the momentum made your whole body twist so that you were parallel to him. he wrapped an arm around your shoulders and you leaned into his embrace.

"now i gotta call that nerd so he can move our car. we're causin' more traffic."

"yeah, i got it." with his gloves on, izuku initiated blackwhip. the tendrils snaked around the car and hoisted it into the air, freeing up that lane once again. "did you suddenly get exposed out of nowhere, too?"

bakugo snorted. "yeah, ain't that a coincidence?"

izuku chuckled softly as he nodded. "yeah, super weird."

I'm sorry if this is kinda traumadumping, but I'm so increasingly terrified of the shooter fans. in a discord server I'm in, he came up as a subject, and I had a pretty civil and I think all in all healthy debate that mostly came to the same general conclusion with one of the other people on the server. (that I don't think he should be fandomized or have every bit of his life picked apart, and also the whole thing just makes me nervous because, well, "we must kill The Elites" often ends up more being Jews than actual "elites", but at the same time all murderers will end up with fanbases and people fascinated with their life details. it was all agreed yes, there are dangers, fandomizations happens, and no he shouldnt be dehumanized or deified, in fact i think those things go hand in hand in a sense)

then a third person jumped in and said we absolutely need to deify him, this could "change the world", and basically we should consider this a holy act and take the initiative to "finally get off our asses [and start killing The Bad People]", that he'll be the figure of a religion started by this revolution. fully serious. we've gone from full "glorious revolution [read: christian Judgement Day]" to "glorious revolution with our uniting hero [read: the second coming, which leads to the judgement day]"

I just had the random thought of a different Bnha story. Like, what if the literal first week of school, 1A was told that Deku would be the active "hero" and the rest of the class were "sidekicks" and they have to break out of that mold. Idk that feels like an interesting dynamic that would push these characters to have harsh conditions to fight against.

Uraraka's entire motivation to get into UA was to earn money and rank high enough to provide for her parents. It's hard to get internships when one person in particular is already being pushed ahead of the rest of the class. On top of this, her quirk isn't flashy compared to the other students. Deku is in a whole other league already, but then students like Denki, Todoroki, and Bakugo all exist and have flashy, loud, attention-grabbing quirks, and she and the other students are all left in the background. Left in the dark. She has to fight harder and push farther just to make her goal something even foreseeable in a setup like this. I can envision a setup like this causing a lot of animosity between the whole class honestly. The classmates who have relatively "normal" quirks distancing themselves and becoming far more serious and working hard together to make themselves stand out more from Deku and the higher ranking students.

And the students with the more flashy quirks doing the exact opposite. Working against each other and trying to tear down Deku especially from his (unwanted) undeserved pedestal above the rest of them. Just so they could stand out and be the new "Hero". Uraraka's fight during the Sports Festival against Bakugo would hold more weight. She's doing this to prove herself, and now, her half of the class with more down to earth quirks. Proving how hard she and the class work to stand out as viable opponents.

Bakugo already has an image issue where he struggles to come to terms with him not being the strongest in the room for the first time in a decade. Imagine that version of him in a room like this. No allies, no overtly friendly faces that make jokes about him to start to humble him. He has the guilt of his kidnapping and subsequently causing All Might's early retirement. He has to face the fact that he's not as important as he assumed he is. He's in a room where people as strong as him are praying and trying to cause his downfall. Then, the scene where he fights Izuku would feel more deserved. (I personally feel that the story should've taken place over the course of 3 years. ) His whole rant was centered around his feelings of inferiority towards the class, moreover Izuku. This would feel more impactful, largely because it kind of feels like an undeserved feeling of contempt towards the other classmates as even with their varied and powerful quirks, he's accepted easily by the class and I feel that a character like him in he canon situation wouldn't feel so strongly about the other's being more powerful than him. Hes among the best students, they all passed and got into class 1A, so a character who makes calculated and rational thoughts should expect to work hard and be among like-minded peers and not be as butthurt about the class being this strong. I could see his feeling weaker to the other classmates if the class was more hostile, though. If he not only had to fight Deku to be in a higher place in class, but fight other competitors who wouldn't give up the title so easily.

And how would Deku react to this himself? No one in this class would be a true ally to him. The Lower ranked classmates wouldn't be happy to spend time with him, but they'd at least get the job done in missions or classwork. The Higher ranked classmates would be outright malicious, possibly sabotaging his half of the work and trying to make up for his "shortcomings" and making themselves look better. His relationship with the others would definitely start off harsh. Aside from Uraraka, who could possibly have a hand in helping unite 1A, by staying friends with Izuku and not letting her grievances influence her behavior (and I really wanted to see her fight Stain).

And this would be the perfect reflection of the inner workings and toxic work culture of hero work. Later on, in their final year, Class 1A becoming "the greatest heroes of Our Generation" would be a satisfying title, as they worked hard to unify their class and become close, learning the value of understanding the person you're conflicting with. They use their understanding to help villains (ex-convicts, people with a bad public record, etc) and create programs to help people come to terms with themselves, or teaching the public with the value of helping their community. Yknow, cheesy shit like that.

I also just like Found Family and the Enemies/Rivals to Friends/Lovers tropes and the thought of these two combined was partially why I came up with this.

As for your second question I laughed VERY audibly because I fully respect the notion that you think anyone could possibly go anywhere in any fandom space without being questioned or just straight up attacked for liking the problematic aspects of media. “I beg your pardon?” The Villain stopped their blows and turned to stare at the hero with a look of pure shock on his face, eyes wide as he tried to process the words that just came out the usually serious Hero. The whole fight they had been engrossed in seconds ago came to a stop at the revelations of words. 

“You heard me.” The Hero answered back, arms crossed as they stood facing him, face void of expression. They never added onto those words as they stared at the other, waiting for him to respond. Villain was at a loss for words. Granted, he knew he was a little more than indecent, slutty if you must, but to hear his precious little Hero say such a word was a huge shock. But yet again, Villain was one to flirt and soon enough, his shock was put aside and a flirtatious smirk spread across his lips, body leaning down to tower over the smaller Hero.

“Perhaps this your way of saying you like how I dress?” The Villain asked slowly, voice smooth and sultry as his eyes locked onto the Hero’s, scanning up and down their body with no shame. Hero just scoffed, turning their body away from the Villain in what seemed to be anger, but the faint redness on the ends of their ears told the Villain otherwise.

“So, do you?” The Villain asked a few seconds later when he never got a response from the secretly flustered Hero, walking over to them once again and curling around their back to peer down at them. While the two were not touching, Hero was more than aware of how close Villain’s basically naked chest was to their back, cheeks going red as they turned around and stepped away from him instantly. 

“I am not answering such a question.” They said in a rush, brows furrowed as they frowned at the Villain. Villain just smirked, finding the little Hero’s response to be amusing. 

“I see.” He answered back with lowered eyelids, arms being held behind his back as he stared down at the Hero with a look of curiosity. Hero just glared as they fell into silence, silently letting out a breath of relief that the Villain had given up on his want for answers. But, that relief was taken and ripped away too soon when the Villain spoke up again. “So if I came to our next battle wearing less than this, you’d be completely unbothered by it?” He asked as he tilted his head to the side slightly, smiling innocently as he traced his finger along the deep V-neck that cut down his dress shirt, chest shown to the world. Hero’s eyes widened in bewilderment at the sentence, body tensing up and shoulders rising in a defensive pose.

“Of course I would!” The Hero snapped almost instantly, body instinctively taking a few steps back. Their blush had spread across their entire face at this point and Hero knew this, hoping and praying that the Villain thought of it as angered flush and not out of embarrassment at the thought that just appeared in Hero’s head. “You’re an idiot to think an outfit would bother my performance.” The scowl that Hero gave Villain was full of anger, but Villain only found it adorable. It looked like he had a new outfit to pick out.

(Hero almost choked on their own spit the next time Villain showed up for a fight, face going bright red as they realized Villain was not lying about his earlier proposition.)

Seething with anger, you swing open the 1-A classroom door with Todoroki on your heels. You attempt to slam the door shut on him, but he was too quick. He reached for your arm, but you flinched away. You’d sooner face an army of villains than let the man who just made a fool of you touch you.

“Y/n are you serious right now?”

“Are you serious right now Todoroki Shoto? You literally just said I’d be the worst hero in front of the entire class!” You exclaimed as you gestured to the class, shuffling in their seats in reaction to your argument.

“I didn’t say that, I just said that you wouldn’t be able to fight on your own like everyone in the class can. There’s still a lot you can improve, but you haven’t been putting in the work.” Todoroki states calmly.

You stare at him dumbfounded, thinking of all of the times had asked him for help with training to which he declined every time. Each one of those times, he declined because he already promised Momo to help her train.

“No you’re totally right,” you say sarcastically, “I definitely haven’t been putting in the work. Yeah, I mean, all of those hours I’ve spent alone training really didn’t account for anything, huh? I guess, by that logic, you could also say that your training sessions you have with Momo are a waste of time too?”

You wait for a response from either Todoroki or Momo. Neither of them answers quick enough for your liking.

“If you say I’m the worst hero in this class, then why do you spend so much time helping Momo but not me? Actually, better question, why even train with Momo when I’m your partner!?” You scream.

“Momo is my best friend, y/n, I want her to succeed and I want you to succeed,” Todoroki explains.

“Y/n it’s really not what you think-“ Momo starts before you cut her off.

“Momo, I know you have probably have a good explanation, but I’m not mad at you as much as I am this mess of a person right now,” you say as you gesture to Todoroki.

“I just don’t understand how you have the audacity to say that I���m a bad hero when I know I’m a bad hero that's why I’m asking for your help Todoroki,” you yell while looking straight into his eyes.

You see something snap in his eyes, almost as if bringing up your self-awareness of the issue was the last spark needed to start the fire.

“Well if you know that, why don't you just give up?!” Todoroki exclaimed. The fire in his eyes extinguished with the realization of what he just said to you.

Your resolve shatters as you stand there like a deer in headlights. After a beat, you slowly gaze around the classroom, just now remembering that you with your peers. One of your biggest fears is now the entire class's knowledge and you were too shocked to fight back. Without a single word, you quickly left the room and headed for the dorms. Todoroki was left with the pieces of your shattered heart in his hands.

It’s been an hour since your argument with Todoroki when you hear a knock on the door of your dorm. Raising your head from your tear-stained pillows, you contemplate not answering until you hear,

“I’m sorry,” from Todoroki on the other side of the door.

You roll your eyes as you get up to open the door.

"What?" you say to him firmly while clenching the side of the door.

Instead of answering, Todoroki just silently hands you a box. You eye him before slowly opening the lid, revealing the hero supplies you desperately wanted. All the objects in the box were things that you mentioned to Todoroki in one way or another. You would hug him if he wasn't the absolute worst right now.

"I hope you like them," Todoroki said softly.

"Of course I like them but," you gesture for him to come inside your room, "I'm not taking this as an apology, you know that," you say closing the door.

"I know, which is why I'm going to apologize right now," Todoroki says.

You set the box on your desk and pull out a chair for him to sit on while you sit on your bed.

"I'm sorry," He says with his usual monotonous voice.

There's a long pause as you look into each other's eyes.

"Is that seriously it?" you scoff.

"No, I'm just thinking of how to continue," taking a deep breath before continuing, "I stepped out of line today. I didn't mean when I said you should give up, you should never give up, Y/n. I've been training with Momo recently is because I already promised that I'd help her for a couple months. Plus, Momo actually likes Jirou, if that had anything to do with you being upset. Actually, yesterday was the last day of our training and I already have something planned with you for our internship next week," Todoroki explains.

You raise your eyebrows as he reaches in his pocket and pulls out a letter. Handing it to you, you skim over it quickly.

"Your dad invited me to intern with him?" you say in disbelief.

"Well, I technically invited you, he just needed to sign it so the staff doesn't get skeptical since we're going to be training together without him," he says as you reread the letter, "We're basically just going on vacation together, but instead of the beach and swimming, it's just going to be at my house and training," he continues.

He puts his fingers under your chin to raise your head.

"I'm sorry, I love you so much," he says with glossy eyes.

You felt the pure truth drip from the words he just uttered.

"I forgive you and I'm sorry too," you begin, "I should have heard you out completely," you finish.

''Shit, careful'' Hawks hissed when the cold compress made contact with his bruised cheekbone.

''If you don't stop moving is hard, you know'' You said, putting some pressure to reduce the pain.

''Fair point'' He remained silence for a while before a nostalgic smile appeared on his face ''This brings me memories'' you knew what he was talking about, and couldn't help but smile in the same way.

''Yeah, me too...''

Years before

Thunders and rain were the scenario for that cold night at the commission, but that didn't stop the training nor the classes during the day. However, the only thing you were waiting for was dinner time, the only moment of the day where you could hang out with all the different kids, but that special one. The kid with red wings, Hawks. The two of you became friends due to sad circumstances, when he had asked you where did you come from. Without even knowing him, he gave you the confidence you never felt, his eyes paying attention to you, nothing else, ready to listen and provide any help. You told him everything about you, about the abusive household, the bad treats and all that comes with it. His wings flopped, his eyebrows went up and his eyes open when he heard your story, and with some sad emotion he had claimed that he went through the same. ''We're not that different! I just have wings'' ''But your wings are really cool'' ''Do you think so?'' And from that conversation on, your dinners were not lonely anymore, nor your lunches or breakfast. Hawks was always there, to tell a joke, to support you, to tell you about his day and ask you about yours. 

That is why you felt weird when he wasn't at the dining room as every night waiting for you. The table the two of you shared was empty, and he was nowhere to be seen. You walked with your tray among the other students, asking them if they had seen Hawks, but none of them did. However, a girl walked towards you and say some words that made you whimper. ''I heard he was training really hard today'' was he ok? After thanking the girl you left the tray on a random empty table, grabbing only the chocolate bar they gave you as a trait on Friday nights. 

Walking through the installations was always confusing, too many hallways and doors that were similar, but you knew the way to his room. Hawks' room. You were being careful, though. Girls' and boys' dorms were separated, and there was no way you could get to his dorm past nine pm. But there you were, walking fast and cautiously until you get to the known door. One knock and no answer. Two and the same happened.

''Hawks? It's me, I... I didn't see you at dinner so I thought...'' 

The door opened on his own, a feather, of course. He was getting better at using them, but that had a cost, a cost you comprehend when you saw the twelve year old boy sitting with legs crossed on his bed. He was lucky he had a dorm for his own, but he didn't seem happy about it. Actually, it was the first time you saw him sad. He was the one that comforted you, the one that made you smile. But now his light was faded. You approached him slowly, sitting next to him. You could notice his raspy knees and cheekbones, forehead, arms. Everywere. He was trying hard to control his sob, holding his Endeavor plushie with one hand against his chest. You were the only one who knew about it, he didn't want other kids to bother him for liking the flame hero. 

''Hawks?'' You whispered ''What happened?'' 

''Training was hard today'' He answered simply, looking down at the mattress.

''I... Can see'' You tried to laugh at your bad joke ''Do they... Hurt?'' The bruises were too evident as to avoid them. ''They should give you something for the pain!''

''They said that it should heal soon, so... Guess I'll be fine'' He hugged his plushie a bit more.

''You need to be ok if you're gonna be a great hero!'' You said standing up, looking through the cabinets in his dorm for a faids kit, and when you found it you sat back next to him. 

''What are you doing?'' He asked, his curious bird-like expression was on his face again. 

''I will heal you. Or try to'' All of your attention was on looking the things you needed.

You used the cold gel compress to put it on his bruised cheekbone, telling him to hold it as you look for something to clean the dry blood off his arms and knees. He looked at you with a confused expression, no one took care of him like that before. Not even mentions his parents. At the commission, the other kids always praised his wings, and they wanted to be friends with him because of that reason, but you were different. There you were, trying your best at healing him, making lame jokes to make him laugh and to cheer him up, telling him he was going to be a great person. 

Once you were done, you sat comfortably again and smiled at him

''Oh, I almost forgot. I got you this!'' You took the chocolate candy out of your pocket ''It melted a bit, but I hope it cheers you up'' His eyes winded in surprise again, and then he leaned in to hug you tight. His arms caging your shoulders. You couldn't help but blush a bit, a boy was hugging you, what else could you do? 

''Thanks, really. You're my best friend'' Hawks said, his eyes still a bit glossy but now they looked a bit happier ''Do you want the half?'' He asked you, opening the candy and splitting it in two. 

The winged kid made your life at the commission a hundred times better.

Present day.

''I can't believe that you're a grown up man and I still have you patch you up'' You joked, leaving the cold compress on his desk. After years of training together, the commission decided that you worked well together, that's how you ended up in his agency, working next to him. 

''And I will never be able to thank you enough'' He said with a teasing smile. 

''Yeah yeah, whatever'' You said, getting away from the chair he was sitting ''Are you gonna go to the date with Hanao?'' Feelings were hard to comprehend, and you didn't know why you felt jealous every time he went on dates with random girls. No, you knew it. You just couldn't confess even to yourself that you were in love with that man.

''Uh, I think so. She's hot but talks too much'' He frowned his nose when he whined. 

''I talk a lot too'' You raised your eyebrows.

''Yeah, but your diffe-'' The door opening dramatically interrupted him.

''Guys! Nomus are attacking the city again, we need back up!'' The man yelled.

The two of you adopted a serious posture immediately, Hawks gave you the look that asked if you were ready, and knowing him as you did you simply nodded.

He held you in his arms so he could fly you near the scene where the chaos was happening, and when was near the floor he let you down, knowing you're fighting area was the ground. 

Hawks went flying so he could rescue some civilians with his feathers and fight nomus with the bigger wings. Things were getting messy, the creatures were destroying everything, and none of you noticed the spilled gasoline of a broken car and the fire nearby. 

You were finishing with a nomu when you saw Hawks again, and thanked internally when you saw he was alright. After a while, his wings got smaller because of the number of feathers used, but he was still trying to help a civilian that was stuck inside her car. 

Everything was happening so fast yet so slow, you could see everything that was happening in slow motion, thinking fast about what your next move should be. Help the scared kid? A cop was running to him. Fight with the white nomu? No, three heroes were fighting against it. And then you saw it.  A big one was walking straight to Hawks, but he was too busy helping the man in the car he didn't notice it. The distance was getting narrower, so you ran, ran as fast as you could towards him. 

''Hawks!'' You could scream.

But it was too late. 

Everything happened within the same second. The gasoline that was spilled made contact with the fire, creating a deafening explosion, the fire blinding everyone's sight at the same time the nomu used his outrageous arm to hit you and send you flying, body crashing against pure concrete. Hawks tried to cover him at the moment of the explosion, but your voice made him turn around and see what was happening. He saw the exact moment when the nomu got rid of you, his senses panicking when he saw you crashing against the hard concrete wall, and then to the floor. 

Another hero started fighting the nomu that attacked you, and other rescue heroes took care of the man trapped. 

Everything was in slow motion again, this time for Hawks. He couldn't fly, he wasn't fast. He ran towards your moveless body, but his steps felt heavier by each second, he was praying you were ok, he wanted to see you getting up, moving. But that didn't happen. You were there, face on the floor, passed out. 

''Y/n!'' He desperately called your name, turning you around to lay you on his lap ''come on kid, wake up!'' Hawks called, but you didn't hear his words. ''Hey, hey look at me. I need you to look at me for fuck's sake!'' Tears were forming in his eyes when he saw you were not responding. Blood was running down a corner of your mouth and your forehead, dust was all over and your eyes still closed. 

He couldn't lose you. Not you. As he called your name, all the memories attacked him. Those nights at the commission when you cured his wounds, when you shared your food, the times he got flustered when you kissed his cheek for the first time, or when he got jealous when a kid two years older asked you out. Or when you were in your twenties and he saw you with a good looking civilian and felt jealous again. The laughs you shared, the sad times. Damn, he even remembered the first conversation you had, when you told him everything about your shitty past and he had offered you his Endeavor plushie for comfort. The nights you spent together till dawn or get caught by someone at the comission. How he felt weird when he went on dates with random girls, He didn't want to be with any of them. He wanted to be with you. Just you. 

And the realization came like a storm. First the lighting in the middle of the night, everything that looked dark and confusing was clear. And then the loud sound of a thunder. It was love. Everything that he felt those years, every weird emotion. He was in love with you, and didn't get the chance to tell you. 

He was on his knees, putting pressure on your wounds as he looked the chaos around him, begging for a doctor, or a fast hero that could take you to the hospital. For the first time ever, he felt helpless. However, a voice took him out his thoughts. A light of hope. 

''Wing hero Hawks! I'm Ingenium from the UA, class 1-A. I can take them to the nearest hospital right now!'' 

He looked at the hero in a white armor, a student? He didn't have another option. He let the young hero take you in his arms. The engines on his calves lighted up and he went running. Damn he was fast, it could be a chance to save you. 

When All Might arrived at the scene, things got calmer. And he used whatever means he had to get to the hospital in which the hero had taken you. 

People looked at Hawks with curious eyes, he was looking desperate, looking for you everywhere and asking about you. He was about to lose his head when the same student arrived, this time no mask on. 

''Hi, this is Tenya Ida from class 1-A, UA student'' He introduced himself again, this time properly ''They take them to surgery and said she should be out in an hour or a bit more'' 

Hawks thanked the kid, and gave an effortless pat on his shoulder beofre moving to the waiting room. One hour pass, then two, and then three. What the hell was taking so long? He was resting his elbows on his thighs and head on his hands. No one gave him information about you, and he could feel the tears dampening his cheeks. He loved you, he had loved you all along and now you might be gone forever. He wanted to hug you, kiss you, never let you go. 

Hours seemed infinite, but then an exhausted doctor appeared in front of him. 'They're sedated' she said, explaining to him that you had lost a lot of blood, but that they were able to stop the bleeding from the different cuts, and organs. 

Hawks felt like walking the long hallways of the commission when he sneaked to your room when you were kids, nervous, wanting to see you. But now? Now he was a man, and he knew that he loved you and craved to see you. To know you were ok. He got to the door, and doubted whether to enter or not, but he took a deep breath and did it.

You were laying on the bed, a machine helping you breathe and lots of needles and cables on your arm. Keigo's chest tightened at the image of you wounded, and even worse. You were in that state for saving him, and he was hating himself because of it.

Quietly, he sat down as he held your hand. His chin was trembling he was trying too hard not to cry. Using his free hand, he caressed your cheek and pulled a strand of your hair away from your face. 

''Hey,'' he whispered ''I need you to wake up, ok? I... Need you here, with me. I'm nothing if I don't have you here'' His voice was broken, and he didn't even notice when the tears were running down his eyes again ''I swear I'll stop stealing your lunch, and I won't whistle or chirp on mornings because I know you get stressed'' Keigo let out a sad laugh ''There's so much I need to tell you, so please.'' He caressed your head again ''I won't go on dates with random girls anymore because I... Just want to be with you'' A sob left his lips, and he rested his forearms and head on the bed next to you ''I can even shave my so-called beard if you want to, but please... Wake up. Come back to me. Please, don't leave me'' His whisper was drowned in tears, Keigo kept sobbing by your side as the memories kept replaying on his head ''I love you, I fucking love you'' He finally let his feelings out among hurtful tears. He wanted nothing more than you to be ok. 

Suddenly, his heart stopped. He felt the weight of a hand on his head, playing with his hair. He got up slowly, looking at you with red puffy eyes, but full of hope. 

''y/n?'' He asked, heart beating fast.

''I like when you whistle in the morning'' You said slowly opening your eyes ''your stubble is cute''  a weak smile was on your lips, and he couldn't believe that your first words after almost dying were about him ''And I always pack up double lunch because I know you eat mine. That's why I get fried chicken every day'' At that day, he couldn't control the amount of tears escaping his eyes. 

''I...'' A sob ''y/n I-'' you interrupted him with your weak raspy voice.

''I know, I heard you'' You nodded, feeling your eyes getting watery too ''I love you too, Kei'' You caressed his cheek. ''I've been in love with you since I was like... Fifteen'' you rolled your eyes and laughed weakly, making him laugh in the same way too.

''Sorry I didn't notice sooner'' He brushed your hair with his hand, and then whipped some tears, but the kee falling '' Don't you dare scare me like that again'' He chuckled lowly.

''Sorry'' You said ''Can I get a kiss for saving your ass once again?'' He couldn't help but laugh again, loving to see you with a good mood. 

He leaned forward, his lips on yours were delicate, soft, and tender. Just his lips against yours, a bit salty because of the tears but none of you cared. You whined a bit because of the lack of air and the pain caused because the cut on your lower lip. 

''Shit, sorry'' He pulled away, and then got closer again to kiss your forehead for long seconds as his hand was still on top of your head holding your hair. ''I love you, so damn much'' 

He sat on the chair next to the bed again, resting his head on his forearms one more time. You used the little amount of strength you had to play with his hair, scratching his scalp with soft fingers. 

''I love you too, bird boy'' Tiredness was taking over you again ''This time you will have to patch me up'' You joked

''Always. I'll always will'' He sobbed one more time, closing his eyes. Loving your hand on his hair, and your voice. God, he could never be tired of listening to you. ''Try to get some sleep, ok?'' He said moving his head up again. 

''Will you be here when I wake up?'' You asked. The same question you did when as kids, when Hawks lent you his bed so you could sleep there as he took care of your sleep from the other bed, not wanting you to get any nightmares.��

''Yes, I'm not leaving you. I will be here'' He smiled at you, and after leaving another kiss on your forehead he rested his head on his forearms on the tiny empty space on the bed by your side.

He was not letting the love of his life alone. Not that night, or never.

Previously on BnHA: Horikoshi was all “you guys don’t really need to know what’s gonna happen to Deku and Shouto right now” and cut away to Toga and Ochako before anyone could get a word in. Skeptic utilized the power of Freak Shounen Coincidence to magically zero in on Ochako and Tsuyu amongst the fleeing crowd. Toga was all “IS THAT OCHAKO” and immediately leaped down to fight them, ignoring Spinner’s heartfelt speeches about Villain Found Family because fight now, hug later!! Down in the streets of some unidentified crumbling city, Ochako was approached by a sweet old lady and was all “I better help this sweet old lady who is definitely not leading me into a trap”, which unfortunately turned out to be poor decision-making on her part. Anyway so now she and Toga are going to throw down. AND ALSO, P.S., BEST JEANIST IS STILL ALIVE, and that doesn’t really have anything to do with anything right now, but BY GOLLY I JUST HAD TO SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS.

So that’s a thing that happened. The chapter ends with Gigantomachia and the League STOMPIN’ ONTO THE SCENE, JUST IN TIME FOR ENDEAVOR TO WAKE UP AND BE ALL “OHHHHH SHIT.” YOU’RE DAMN RIGHT, “OH SHIT.” Finally the pieces are in place for Dabi to reveal his true identity to Hadou and Iida, JUST LIKE WE ALL EXPECTED.

BNHA Chapter 319 Spoiler Analysis: Found Family

Holy crap what a phenomenal chapter!  This arc in general has been great, but this chapter might be one of my favorites of the arc.  Not just because it focuses on Class 1-A (I’m so glad to see the kids again), but because of the growth we see in these kids in general especially Bakugo and Shoto IMO.  Like, holy shit ESPECIALLY BAKUGO!  I stand by my opinion that Bakugo is one of the best developed characters in the series.  There’s so much I want to say about this chapter and I’ll try my best to do so if my poor injured left hand will let me 😭:

The chapter starts off with the first of 3 colored pages we’re going to get over the next few weeks to celebrate 7 YEARS OF MY HERO ACADEMIA!!!  CONGRATS, HORIKOSHI-SENSEI!!!  This series revived my love of anime/manga and really helped me in some really rough spots in my life.  I will forever be grateful towards Horikoshi for bringing this series to life and blessing us with such an incredible story full of beautiful characters.  MHA may be a little overrated, but I still think it deserves all the love it can get.  

Anyway, the color page.  It shows Uraraka, Iida (who has red eyes here, so IDK why the anime gives him blue eyes though I do think they work better for him personally *shrugs*), Shoto, Tokoyami, and Bakugo after basically figuring out where Deku went.  Bakugo is shown tearing up his letter (which says something like “Thank you for being there, Kacchan”; there’s more but I can’t translate it 😭) and you can kinda see some bandage wrap around his arm where he was stabbed.  Also, both Bakugo and Shoto still have some visible injuries on their faces and Bakugo’s hands, so they’re still recovering from the War.  It’s a really pretty page in general and I can’t wait to see what the next 2 color pages are going to look like.  I also kinda want Horikoshi to take a break after this too again so he doesn’t overwork himself.  Maybe he’ll treat himself to the MHA: World Heroes Mission movie 🍿.  

So, Shoto and Bakugo have figured out that Deku is most likely with Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist.  Problem is that none of them are answering their phones.  I like that Bakugo calls Best Jeanist “Pair of Denim Pants” 😂 and Shoto’s image of Endeavor is still a very angry version of his old man.  Shoto’s still making amends with his father, but he’s still not THERE yet.  Regardless, these kids are smart enough to know that something’s up.  Especially since All Might hasn’t returned to UA either.

It’s basically confirmed by Ojiro that because classes have been suspended, our Class 1-A kids are still 1-A; they haven’t moved into their second year yet.  That clears up the confusion on whether we should still refer these group of kids as 1-A still or not.  

Now Bakugo’s showing how much of a genius he really is despite his personality.  Bakugo figures out that the Top 3 and All Might are working together as a group based on how they all connected with each other back at Central Hospital.  Also, Bakugo concludes that All Might snuck Deku’s letters under their doors while Deku started running.  Ultimately, Bakugo does know more about Deku and All Might more than anyone else does.  He’s been around his childhood friend and he’s admired his idol longer than most people have.  Bakugo understands how bad the situation is and he’s ready to take action.  

As are the other kids.  You can see how determined they are and you can see Kirishima’s black roots coming in 🥺!  Even Uraraka gets some shine here by bringing up the idea to trick Endeavor to come via getting help from Principle Nezu as Endeavor was a UA student.  It’s really interesting to see Ochako in a more serious roll than usual, but I actually like it.  I hope she’s still as bubbly as she always was at the end of the day, but she’s definitely matured and grown a lot over the corse of the series.  Even the simple things like her hair show it as it’s not as floaty as it was before.  I love it when Horikoshi shows small details like this.  It adds to the characters and stories a lot.  Also, the art in this chapter is amazing.

And now it’s Endeavor vs. Class 1-A in a much needed conversation.  All the kids are wearing their school uniforms to make this as formal and serious as they can.  EVEN BAKUGO IS PROPERLY WEARING HIS TIE YOU KNOW SHIT’S ABOUT TO GO DOWN!!!  And, I must say, Bakugo looks damn good with a tie 😳.  You can also get a decent height measurement on the kids here if you want.  Ngl, sometimes I forget that Shoto’s about 2 inches taller than Bakugo.  It’s definitely the hair.  

Shoto’s the first to step up and he scolds the hell out of his old man.  Rightfully so tbh.  Endeavor shouldn’t have ignored Shoto’s calls even though I kind of understood why.  Shoto reminds Endeavor of their plan to stop Dabi though thankfully that’s what’s pushing Endeavor forward so he hasn’t forgotten.  Shoto calls his father “Endeavor” and gets mad at him fro leaving Deku and All Might alone.  The rough translations say he called Izuku “Deku” here too btw.  Endeavor has no response.  I think this anger Shoto’s unleashing is very justified and has been burning inside him since Deku left UA.  His best friend just up and left him and his friends with nothing but a letter to kinda explain things.  Also, Shoto and the rest of 1-A (minus Bakugo) have basically been lied to for about a year.  I’d want answers too if someone did that to me.  

Bakugo steps in by putting a hand on Shoto’s shoulder (🥺) to calm him down a bit and to say his piece.  Ultimately, he thinks what Deku is doing is right, but that the way they’re all doing it is wrong.  I love Deku and All Might, but they’re sacrificial idiots.  They care more about others than they probably ever will themselves.  That’s how All Might lost his OFA in the first place.  It’s because of that that All Might doesn’t have it in him to stop Deku from going down this path.  They shouldn’t have been left alone.  Someone should’ve kept a closer eye on them.  I know the Top 3 were all worried about getting too close to Deku before, but really, someone should’ve been watching them closer on the sidelines.

The next page is a really cool drawing of Endeavor flinging his phone to the kids to catch.  The previous panels showed Endeavor with this face that’s regretful and I think he realized something: That Bakugo is right and that the kids might be better off finding Deku than he is.  So he basically gives the kids his GPS on his phone.  Those are just my thoughts, but it does look like that.  I don't think Endeavor’s just going to up and give up though.  He’s probably going to start rethinking things though.

As Sero manages to catch Endeavor’s phone, he and the rest of the kids think about how even though they’ve only known Deku for a year, they still think of him as family and cannot let him go down this thorny path alone.  They’ll carry the OFA burden with him if they have to.  They can’t smile without Deku around.  These kids truly have become a family over the year.  It’s amazing to see.  Everyone’s like a brother and sister and it’s really nice to see.  I just love Found Family stories, guys 😭❤️

And really quick, I want to focus on my ❄️🔥 boy, Shoto, really quick.  As he’s thinking about Deku, he mentions how shocked he still is about Deku keeping OFA from them and how Deku thought just a letter would suffice.  He has this sad look on his face like he’s trying to say: “I still can’t believe my best friend hid this from me for so long.  Why?  Did he not trust me?”  That’s just my interpretation.  Still, I can’t imagine how upset Shoto must feel.  I think he still cares a lot about Deku enough to go out and find him, but he’s gotta feel some sort of betrayal.  More so than the other students outside of Bakugo because, again, Deku was essentially Shoto’s best and closest friend 💙😭

Endeavor is rightfully worried about letting the kids out in the state of Japan right now, but now Principle Nezu speaks up and praises the kids on growing up so well.  He’s also took into account Deku's feelings about his mission which is why he agreed to the team up.  Also, Deku’s still welcome back to UA whenever he wants thank god ☺️.  He’s a student who has to be protected.  There’s a cute panel of Uraraka and her mom crying happily after getting her acceptance letter too.  Not 100% why this is shown other than Acceptance Letter part, but it’s cute to see.  Maybe Ochako realizes how much Deku needs to be protected or something.

As for the refugees, Nezu had the security system strengthened in time for the Cultural Festival earlier, but they never used it before.  It’s call The UA Barrier.  God, how strong is this thing?  Is it strong enough to stop Shigaraki who was able to Decay the last barrier?  This seems like something that’ll be used in the final battle TBH.  

So, Nezu trust the 1-A kids to bring Deku back home.  Which is exactly what they plan to do as all 19 of them enter Kamino in a badass full page.  I actually wasn’t sure if all 19 of them were there at first since I couldn’t find Shoto for the life of me, but then my eyes saw the BIG-ASS ICE WALL IN THE BACK AND I THOUGHT “OH THERE HE IS!!!” LOL 😂 

The next panel actually does show Shoto with Momo as they capture the villain from the last chapter.  Momo politely calls Bakugo “Bakugo-san”, but Bakugo demands that he be called his insane hero name: “GREAT EXPLOSION MURDER GOD DYNAMIGHT”!  I CAN’T WITH THIS DUDE SOMETIMES WHY DO I LOVE HIM SO MUCH 💥🧡

Deku sees his friend and wonders why they came.  Ochako answers because that they were worried about him, but Deku tries to convince everyone (including himself) that he’s fine.  He’s obviously not and Bakugo calls TF out on him!  He even drops a good F-bomb for good measure.  Bakugo mocks Deku for trying to act like All Might and asks Deku if he can even smile right now.  I actually really like it that Bakugo’s calling Deku out on his shit.  I think Deku needs some good tough love right now to knock some sense into him.  Who would be better to do that than Katsuki Bakugo himself?

As Deku is trying to convince everyone that’s he’s fine (while still looking like a demon btw), there’s a small focus on Iida.  Actually, a few panels this chapter have focused on Iida.  Maybe he’s remembering the time Deku saved him back when they went up against Stain.  Deku saved him then so it’s now Iida’s turn to save Deku.  Also, Iida hasn’t gotten much focus lately and I really like his character, so I’m glad he’s being brought back to the forefront again.  Also, I like hearing Kaito-san’s voice in general so I’d be happy to hear him again (thanks for that one, Haikyuu).

The final spread shows Deku telling everyone to move away while Bakugo, Iida, and Ochako get ready to stop him.  IT’S DEKU VS. CLASS 1-A!!!  WE’RE ENTERING CIVIL WAR FOLKS!!!  Seriously, though, this is great.  I was thinking that it would be just Bakugo and a few other students finding Deku.  Instead we got the whole class.  And looks like that “helping hand” thing will happen later because we got a battle to fight first.  

Bakugo’s become a damn fine leader and I love to see his growth every freaking time🧡! I like how Iida has his hand on Bakugo’s back to support him btw.  It’s weird that Shoto’s not in this page though.  He’s one of Deku’s best friends, so I would think he would be in this page along with Bakugo and his first 2 friends (Ochako and Iida).  Maybe Horikoshi’s saving Shoto for a more 1-on-1 conversation with Deku.  God, I hope that happens because I think along with Bakugo, Shoto deserves a good talk with Deku the most.  

Honestly, I’m not sure who would win this battle.  I’ve been going through scenarios in my head on who would win, but I can’t come to a solid answer.  Class 1-A has 19 versatile Quirks under their belt and they have more energy than Deku to fight, but Deku still has 6 insanely powerful Quirks that he’s been practicing for a while.  The kids could probably win if they strategize enough and use Deku’s exhaustion against him, but again, Deku has OFA and multiple other Quirks.  If he could beat Lady Nagant, one of the best snipers around, he might be able to beat the 1-A kids.  He could just escape with Smoakscreen, Black Whip, and Float if he wants to really.  That would put 1-A on another wild goose chase.  There’s also Deku’s Danger Sense which will be a pain to deal with.  Also, Deku said that he’s as strong as All Might was in his prime with Fa-Jin and OFA combined.  Only AFO and Shigaraki were strong enough to take on THAT.  Plus, we still don’t know what the 2nd OFA Holder’s Quirk is yet.  Deku might use it in this battle.  God, I have so many theories in my head now.  I think this battle will be awesome, but ultimately, I want Deku to come home 😭💚

The thing about writing fanfiction for me is that once I start a multi-chapter fic (tho I've only ever posted a grand total of 2 ever lol both still unfinished rip OTL) I apparently never brainstorm enough. Or too much! 'Cause by nature I live for "what ifs" and it's wrecking me lol, I can't move on...! But this is a Modern AU setting and now I can't stop developing Shibi and Shino in a general sense (and Shibi's involvement is very minor compared to other characters too like I need to chill??) But I guess this goes for my Modern AU in general, so here's are some thoughts no one asked for!

One big HC I have is that Shibi is a well renowned musician, and Shino also has a lot of talent in music as well. This is because in my head, though Aburame and their hive can communicate to some degree, they're also known to be affected by their respective Aburame's emotions. And they audibly buzz and get excited by it all and I seemed to unfailingly liken all that to vibrations, like of musical sounds, and then it kinda leads up to that fidgeting a person might do when they get very emotional or passionate but can't voice it because they need to stay quiet or simply don't know how to talk about something. In general I think both Shibi and Shino are decent enough communicators when it matters, but they ARE pretty quiet people. And I feel like one of the best ways to release and express otherwise pent up emotional tension and energy is by straight up blasting music to drown out everything else. And it feels even MORE satisfying by the end of it when you're the one who was actually putting out the notes!! Anyone can make noise, but truly inspired music is such a trip! Every single note accounted for (even the "rest" notes!!) symbolizes 1 kikaichu and so just the idea of being able to read and produce music and bringing it all to life just makes complete sense to me and fills me with serotonin when I think about Father/Son jamming sessions between them...!!!

And! And despite this being a Modern AU HC thing, it looks like Shino's actually been shown to semi(?)canonly play an electric guitar, and I've become fond of the idea of Shibi's first instrument being a bass guitar too~

Of course if that's the case, OBVIOUSLY Shibi would be a multi-instrumentalist. Obviously. And what I've been thinking is that by the time Shino is an adult. Shibi'd be a seasoned Film Score Composer. I feel like unless you're quite the music or movie fan, or work in the business, you probably aren't gonna be super into the composers in comparison to the actors and directors that work on the same movie lol So to the general public, Shibi Aburame isn't a name that brings out stars in anyone's eyes. But if you know, you know, and boy does Shibi have his work cut out for him. He's in demand for lots of those box office hits.

Also YES Shibi can sing, and he knows it, the man isn't the least bit shy to acknowledge it! But he never committed singing as a major part of his career as much as playing because that's just the kind of guy he is. These days he won't sing unless it serves a purpose in brainstorming for his next project or if he's in the privacy of his car/home, but even then it's more just soft but super accurate harmonizing on his part to a radio or stereo or whatever. But if Shino ever needed comforting, especially as a small child, he'd never hesitate to lull Shino back into calm with songs that he either liked or maybe made up together if the situation was appropriate. And ocassionally he'll start to sings at Shino as a means to annoy his son because why talk when you can sing to get your point across?? He's not always a serious guy, sometimes he can get soft too...!

Shino? Can also sing and play well without much effort at all. Though Shino didn't take it up as a career like Shibi did, and not as many instruments, Shino is definitely his father's son and is just as musically inclined. He could've if he wanted to but found he a had a strong preference to percussion and string specifically, and even then prefered plucking and strumming versus bowing strings, but his favorite bowed string is a cello! And being part of the newer generation, he might mess around with a laptop software/button pad/launchpad if he's feeling particularly inspired or wants to challenge himself a little more. But his bestest baby is the first electric guitar he bought on his own ;o;

Shino is more likely to sing at any given time in comparison to Shibi, but he's still usually alone, whether wiping off the board after class, doing chores, or maybe grading papers. Kiba and Hinata have both caught him doing so since they first met him, and Hinata compliments his talent when she does, but Kiba starts to dis his choice of music when he realizes Shino sings a lot older or obscure music "like a fucking hipster!" Shino doesn't dis Kiba's personal taste in music as much as disses Kiba for his lack of open mindedness and it makes Kiba rethink everything when Shino is able to play the melody of every song Kiba throws at him the first time he comes over to his house. Shino is very eclectic in his taste of music, but some of Shino's favorite genres for singing are indie pop, blues (especially older ones), and the occasional toned down but no less accurate musical number or power ballad just imagine him whisper singing fcking "Jukebox Hero" while he's scribbling notes vvvvrrmm.

Unlike Shibi or Shino, Torune isn't so big on making music as he is listening and writing poetry/lyrics DON'T TELL ANYONE SHHHH FCKIN SH. It's not that he doesn't have talent, he can also sing rather well and owns karaoke night, he is karaoke king! It not quite a discipline problem as it is a drive thing as he never seriously touched more than two instruments. He can manage about 4 chords on guitar, just enough to impress, but oddly enough he was drawn to and became terribly enamored with Shibi's vibraphone. He studied that thing profusely and whenever he comes back to visit from college and after, he always comes back to it and plays it as if he never skipped a day of practice. Will probably own his own vibraphone at some point for sure! So scratch that, it's simply a Family Jam Session I guess!

moar biker luke au?

(Modern AU Idea)

What about that time poor Din is picking Grogu up at daycare or school or whatever and there’s an, idk, substitute or something who thinks he’s Hooligan?

Like, idk, the night before was rough and Din was up late and when he drops Grogu off his hair is messy.

(Perhaps Luke had something to do with that, playfully ruffling his hair to wake him up because he knows Din isn’t much of a morning person, but he’s stupidly adorable like a grumpy bear cub, and anyway. Din was running late and didn’t have time to primp in the mirror or whatever.)

He’s wearing a faded shirt with the logo of a band he listens to on the front - nothing graphic or upsetting but it’s a rock band, so you know, clearly of The Devil - and old jeans he should have gotten rid of a long time ago but they’re comfy and he loves them, and anyway. He forgot to do the laundry and Luke was out of town most of the week, back home with his family for something, and anyway, they’re clean and he can deal with the rest later.

Also, though. Leather jacket that was a gift from Boba a few years back and it’s a little chilly in the morning, and he loves the jacket, so yes.

Basically Din just looks like a Very Tired Dad when he drops Grogu off in the morning, and the regular teachers and whatnot smile at him because he’s honestly the sweetest man, and clearly adores his son as much as Grogu adores him, but!

The Substitute who sees Din and is like Hooligan, and obviously their co-workers are too blind to see it. Why just look at his child! Messy hair and grubby little hands - he’s a child??? - and anyway.

HOOLIGAN.

Din doesn’t notice The Substitute having a fit because he’s invested in making sure Grogu remembered his school stuff, crouched down to help him out of his jacket and run a hand through his hair to make it look a little more presentable. Grinning when Grogu tries to do the same for him but it’s too late for that, buddy, Din’s hair is always going to be a mess.

Drops a kiss on the top of his head and tells him to be good, please, my old heart cant take it otherwise and gives Grogu a little push towards the other kids, his friends and waits until he’s inside the classroom before he heads off to Boba’s shop or wherever.

And, okay.

Same routine for a couple of days and after the third one he finally realizes he’s getting the stink-eye from the Substitute and is like. What did he do???

He mentions it to Luke in passing who is like oh??? and drops by Grogu’s school or daycare or whatever that afternoon under the guise of bringing him his lunch. (Oh, what’s that? Din made sure he had one with him that morning, haha, guess he’s just being sill again, huh? Oh, is that a new teacher?)

Luke is charming and sweet and friendly and learns one of the regular is out sick for the week and they’ve got this Substitute. Bit prickly, stickler for the rules and whatnot, but they’re new and hopefully experience in the real world will help give them a more...balanced perspective, or something like that.

And Luke, okay, he knows what’s going on.

Knows Din gets mistaken for being this bad boy figure because he looks the part, you know?

Rough around the edges and such, comes across as gruff, even aloof sometimes, but he’s just.

Quiet.

Watchful.

One of the most respectful people Luke’s met, doesn’t see the point in useless chatter and it gives people the wrong impression of him.

Also, you know.

The thing where he doesn’t mind bending the rules and such, but does so for  reason.

And, Luke knows thanks to Paz and the others Din grew up with, he was a Good Kid growing up. Got into fights here and there, but always to protect someone who couldn’t protect themselves. Got good grades in school - smart, smart kid who took honors classes and such - and so on.

(And then there’s Luke, and Leia. Smart kids themselves, but the Thing their dad and chip on their shoulders and anyway, Luke’‘s pretty sure if Din ever got detention it was a rare occurrence compared to him and Leia who might as well have lived in detention half the time.)

Anyway.

Luke and Leia look like Good Kids and are kind of the exact opposite. Like, sure they got good grades in school too, but they were definitely the trouble kids.

Din, who actually was a Good Kid but looks like he’s not, and anyways.

Luke’s run into people before who thought the worst of Din from on glance at him, like they knew anything about him.

Stll. He makes a point of meeting the Substitute and making nice with them, all friendly, non-threatening smiles and chitchat before has to leave before his own lunch break is over and such.

AND THEN.

Luke makes sure to be there when Din picks Grogu up that afternoon. Brings his bike and all.

Makes sure to be obnoxious about it, revving the engine and wearing his Rogue’s jacket and Din’s Aviators he pilfered a few days ago and Din keeps giving him :(((((((((( face about getting back.

The regulars at Grogu’s school/daycare have seen him wearing that particular Look before, maybe got some some harmless flirting tossed his way to get Din to sigh at Luke and his suitors before putting his arm around Luke like hey no, this idiot’s mine, get your own, and anyway.

They know Luke’s the bad influence in that particular family, bad seed and all.

Luke roars up on his bike, right next to Din and his minivan and Grogu who is mcfreaking delighted to see Luke and his bike.

“Why are you like this?” Din asks, handing Grogu over when both he and Lue make grabby hands at one another, but it’s all soft and fond and he maybe gives Luke a little hey, hello, i missed you today kiss even though Luke is stupidly dramatic in the dumbest ways.

And Luke, okay.

Catches the eye of the Substitute who is staring at the three of them all scandalized and whatnot because look.

Din was in the process of getting Grogu into the Very Safe car seat in the backseat of his adorable minivan when this Hooligan came tearing in on his motorcycle like an actual hooligan.

Din had time to do the laundry so he’s wearing jeans a thread away fro falling apart and this nice sweater Grogu helped Luke pick out for Din as a birthday present or something like that. Soft and comfortable and presentable. Brings out the color of Din’s eyes and has gotten him more than a few appreciative looks - like the ones right now from some of the parents. The same ones who flirt with Luke because it’s fun and safe and Din’s reaction is always the best, and anyway.

Din looks like the Good Kid he was, the Good Man he is, and Luke looks like the awful, terrible, no good Hooligan he absolutely is.

Anyway, it’s not like Luke’s making a point or anything, just.

He’s not a fan of people assuming the worst of Din when they don’t know the first thing about him.

Din is like, I’m onto you Skywalker, because he’s not an idiot, you know. Luke only wears his biker gang gear when he’s off with Biggs and Wedge and them, and Luke’s been acting weird the last coupe of days.

And since when, Din would like to know, when does Luke show up here on his bike? He knows Grogu’s not big enough to ride on it with him.

(Let’s say this all happens before Din meets them because I didn’t think of that at the time, but whatever.)

He glances over his shoulder and thinks a-ha, when the Substitute’s eyes go wide at getting caught staring (scowling) at them, and then looks at Luke who gives him this Stubborn Idiot look he gets sometimes.

“My hero,” Din says, getting a laugh out of Luke and the back of his hand smacking his shoulder playfully because Luke’s being serious here, you jerk, the least you can do is not make fun of him, okay?

He gets a peck on the cheek and promise for a better thank you later when there’s no audience, and anyway. Give me my kid back and we’ll see you at home, yeah:

Vigilante Yagi AU rough timeline

Vigilante Yagi AU

(This might be subject to change, but it’s mostly for me to write down a vague idea of what happens when. I’m still fleshing out details.)

X: The year of the first fight between All for One and All Might, where he got injured in the stomach, five years before the start of canon. Izuku (9), Tsukauchi (31), Aizawa (26), All Might (around fifty), Gran Torino (between 70-80?)

After the fight All Might spend time recovering/keeping up his hero work. The time limit is long enough that he generally barely reach it when the day is done, but he can feel himself weakening. Spend less time with the media. Fallout between him and Nighteye. Yagi meet Tsukauchi sometime during the year, but Tsukauchi doesn’t know he is All Might yet.

X+1: Due to him not stopping, large decrease of his time limit. Very low media appearances of All Might. Tsukauchi learns Yagi is All Might. Yagi tries to push himself again when he hears a cry for help, cannot take his ‘beefy form’ but still goes to help because someone has to. First appearance of Vigilante Yagi. (Yagi himself doesn’t register it as being a vigilante because he’s All Might, when the person he saved ask for a name he panics and only gives “Yagi”.) The police let him go with a warning because he didn’t use a quirk and it was a first offense.

Keep finding himself in situation where he needs to help people after his time limit. Start getting arrested by the police but they can’t really hold anything against him. The internet starts talking about a quirkless vigilante called Yagi.

Events of My Hero Academia Vigilantes ? Aizawa meeting Yagi ?

X+2: Izuku (11) learns about Vigilante Yagi on the internet and he slowly becomes a role model (not because he’s a vigilante, but because he’s quirkless and he helps and is called a hero. For Izuku this is hope he can become a hero even if he’s quirkless.). Yagi becomes a regular at the police station. Officer Cassandre start building his theory that Yagi is All Might. All Might is seen less often doing “smaller heroics” (rescuing cats from trees and the like) while Yagi is seen more often. All Might’s time limit stay stable, he mostly uses it for bigger villains.

X+3: Izuku (12) starts going out and helping people, generally not getting into fight. Start cleaning Dagobah Beach, carrying groceries, saving cats from tree, that kind of things. Then he accidentally stop a mugging (his feet moved before he could think about it) and coincidentally Yagi was as the police station too. The Vigilante Time Out Corner get a new resident. Izuku meet Crawler while cleaning the beach, bond over their love of All Might. Izuku become Yagi’s unoficial protégé. Yagi meets Inko (39). Izuku start holding himself against Kacchan since he knows he can be a hero. Yagi start becoming famous on the internet. David Shield (around 50, same age as All Might?) (and Melissa (15)) learns what he’s up to and offer Support.

Beginning of the Kacchan Redemption Arc?

X+4: Izuku (13) and Inko (40) learns that Yagi is All Might. Yagi seriously consider making Izuku his successor but decides to give it time (he still believes AfO is dead and that he got time). Crawler and Yagi teach Izuku more practical self-defense/ways to fight if he’s serious about becoming a hero. Beginning of the partnership between Melissa Shield and Izuku for support items. Izuku’s analysis are also encouraged.

Nezu kept offering Yagi a teaching post at UA. This time he consider it. Learn about teaching/getting a teaching degree. Get back in touch with Gran Torino? (Partly about being a teacher, partly about making Izuku his successor)

Bakugou start reconsidering himself, but it is a work in progress.

X+5: Start of canon. Since All Might is taking it easier due to doing more heroics as Yagi and his support group, his time limit is longer. Sludge villain attack Izuku like canon. Then Yagi and Izuku goes together to the police station to drop him off. Kacchan is still on his redemption arc but has stopped bullying Izuku.

All Might accept teaching at UA for the next year. Got a teaching degree and everything. All Might would do some practical classes for heroics, while Yagi might teach some theory classes about heroics for both Hero and Gen department.

X+6: Start of UA Year 1. Izuku pass the physical with only rescue points from helping other students (by getting them out of harm and by observing their quirks and giving them advice to be more efficient). All Might is a more competent teacher (partly because he’s been teaching Izuku longer and knows what works and doesn’t, partly because he took the time to learn how to teach.) Yagi got a teaching post too, and he’s often seen on campus even if students don’t always know who he is or why he’s here (there’s running bets/theories about which hero he is/was. Main theory is retired pro-hero. Shouto believes he is Izuku’s dad and a retired vigilante.) Aizawa isn’t paid enough to deal with the Father-Son duo.

USJ: Either All Might is here since the beginning because he still got time, or Yagi is present to replace him. Izuku is more confident but not used to fighting a lot of villains at the same time. End result is pretty much the same (Nomu defeated, Tomura and Kurogiri fleeing) except Aizawa is less wounded at the end and All Might doesn’t have a massive decrease of his time limit.

Sport Festival: Bakugou doesn’t get muzzled on the podium, but is still overly aggressive at the opening speech. After the Sport Festival, Izuku introduces Shoto to Officer Cassandre (to the glares of Tsukauchi who isn’t paid enough to deal with two of them), approaches Shinsou about training (to which he might be more receptive because here Izuku is still quirkless), and an investigation is started against Endeavour.

Stain Arc: Iida still go off on his own. Idk I’ll think of something. Stain is admirative of All Might, Yagi and Izuku because they “represent the true aspect of heroics” or something.

Summer Camp Arc: End with the battle at Kamino. Everyone who knew Yagi learns he is All Might, but the mass media doesn’t speak about it. The internet is in uproar. Since he can barely uses his quirk anymore, Yagi offer it to Izuku.

Overhaul Arc: Even thought he has been “outed” as All Might, as soon as he’s healed up Yagi goes back to doing vigilante work, except now it’s not really vigilante because he has a hero license, as All Might. Beside that, everyone is wondering what the hell is going on with that Chisaki’s guy obsession with Tsukauchi.

To be honest most canon would probably stay similar in the big things, but have changes in the details. It’s more about Yagi realising he is human and valued and him getting friends and family. Still not sure whether to keep Izuku as a quirkless hero or to give him OfA, but with the threat of AfO still present he might accept. I guess it’ll depend on how Kamino happens here.

Weiss Schnee for the RWBY character ask game. Let’s go!

My top three ships for the character

Freezerburn all the way, it’s my favorite Weiss or Yang ship. They’ve got great chemistry, they compliment each other, they could be healthy and well developed and they look great together, and they’re fire and ice. Such a great ship. Weiss/Neon, believe it or not. I really was annoyed by Neon Katt in her first appearance, but I like her much more after her volume 7 and 8 appearances and I think she and Weiss could look super great together. And Weiss/Pyrrha also has the potential to be really cute. I agree with others that Weiss seems to have a real crush on her, and in their first couple scenes together, I think Pyrrha is really friendly and thinks Weiss is funny and cute (the same way she thinks about Jaune lol.) (Honorable mentions to Weiss/Neptune, which would’ve been cute if Neptune had been treated as a serious character, but was done kind of annoyingly in canon and therefore doesn’t make the list.

My three least favorite ships for the character

Weiss/Adam is an absolute no for me. Weiss/Sun is also one big ol’ no, I don’t like it. And Weiss/Cardin is also pretty dang bad. Any Cardin ship is bad. XD

My biggest criticism for the character

Weiss’s relationships with her family member’s were totally sidelined in the Atlas arc. Her reconnection and reconciliation with her mom was rushed, her relationship with Winter and them fighting on opposing sides took a major backseat, her confronting her abusive father was treated as a joke, and her reconciliation with Whitley was rushed, while the growth was put on his shoulders only and Weiss didn’t have to take the steps towards growth. Atlas should’ve been the arc where we really see Weiss shine and grow and have her relationships with her family take center stage. Instead of that, I feel like she kinda got shafted.

My favorite thing about the character

Weiss is such a fierce character with cut-throat, cold tendencies, the tendency to judge and act aggressive if she thinks others have fallen short, and a willingness to play dirty. Heroes who don’t always act like 'paragon heroes’ and are calculated, who might cheat to get ahead, who will let pettiness get in the way of treating people well... That makes for a really great character who’s flawed and makes mistakes. That’s one reason why even though I hate that Weiss essentially pointed a loaded gun at Whitley, I don’t really mind that she was snippy and cold with him, I just mind that she didn’t get to recognize that as wrong and grow from it, and instead the show kinda acted like she was in the right because her several years younger brother hadn’t yet proven himself. But yeah, her flaws actually make her a really compelling, good character to me.

A headcanon I have about them

During Weiss’s time in Combat School, everyone in her class hated her. Weiss had been even more of an entitled brat when she first left home, she tended to treat all her classmates like they were a massive inconvenience to her or were there for ‘the wrong reasons.’ So her classmates hated her and would talk bad about her, and Weiss knew this, but they would all still act nice to her because they were scared of her father.

What I would change about them if I was making a re-write

First off, I’d devote some extra time to her relationships with her family - specifically with Whitley. But also, in my Ironwood answer, I said I’d have Ironwood still essentially be good, but Team RWBY would still disagree with him about leaving Mantle and he’d still try and arrest them (not knowing they’re well intentioned because he doesn’t have a script of the show,) and so they’d still split off. And I’d have Weiss disagree with Team RWBY and stay with Ironwood. She’d be a fierce soldier going to the front lines to try and hold Salem’s forces back in Atlas armor only to see Oscar getting kidnapped and get caught up in trying to help, or she’d accompany the Ace Ops to try and get Penny to come and move Atlas, only for her to somehow realize the Hound is heading towards the mansion and go to try and see if Whitley is alright, getting pulled back into the plot. Idk, I just know I’d have contention among team RWBY by having Weiss disagree with Ruby and be willing to act outside of her if she thinks that’s best.

What I I think of their character allusion and what (if anything) I would change about it

Weiss’s character allegory is ‘Snow White’ from the fairy tale of the same name, and it’s not too bad. Snow White was raised in a palace, but resented by a parent, and Snow White had left this life of luxury where she was mistreated and wound up in a much more down to earth place where she finds friends who are willing to protect her. She ‘almost dies,’ only to be alright in the end. Weiss fits a couple of these beats alright, but she still relies a bit more on gimmick, referencing talking to the mirror in like, five out of six of her character songs (idk if this number is right, lol,) and having a character based on the seven dwarfs interact with her. But I guess it’s good enough and I’m not sure personally how I’d improv it.
