Ok I have a new obsession and yes I should be ashamed for not knowing it sooner but for the past week I've been obsessed with Webtoon. Especially with I love yoo by quimchee. I've spend 2 days reading it and I am enjoying it so much that I am reading it again until the next update.

But now to the point why I am making that post...this picture....

I think it was a patreon reward like 3 years ago so it is very old. Anyways I was creepin on the creators Insta account and looked at it for like 5 minutes and remembered reading many theories just because of that drawing. Until it hit me.... I think quimchee said something along the lines how the picture has hints which will be relevant for the story but also misleading hints. So I am pretty sure the handholding of Shin Ae and Kousuke is SPOILER the time Kousuke tried to comfort Shin Ae in the cafe by holding her hand. So that was true.

And I think the meaning of Shin Ae and Nol sharing an earphone has also been revealed in chapter 117 but I am just 70% sure with that one. Anyways looking at Nol he has his eyes closed and that makes me think what if quimchee is pulling a your lie in April on us? Or worst an I want to eat your pancreas?????

Idk if someone already made that theory before since this drawing is 3 years old lol but it just hit me. Since quimchee stated more than once that she hates clichès and that we might get an ending that's not 100% considered an happy ending....

But I have many more theories up in my head that I want to share....

PLEASE IS THERE SOMEONE WHO WILL TALK TO ME ABOUT THIS AMAZING STORY

WHEW ok so i just read sore ni namae o tsukeru nara since the entire thing got posted just now and wow that was seriously super cute !! idk why but recently i’ve gotten into younger semes and older ukes (with reasonable age gaps obviously) and this was that so yeah nice (except when they dropped in the extra that the college dude had actually been fucking a FIFTEEN yo ... that took me out, i was like he’s HOW OLD ?? even though they did put out that they were a college and HS freshman respectively i didn’t really comprehend that until he said how old he was).

for whatever reason i couldn’t get into the 1st/main story that this is a spinoff of even though i love childhood friends (i think i get weirded out when the older friend is the seme ... it’s like a weird power imbalance i feel even though the age gap was not that big i don’t think. but even sometimes when the younger friend is the seme i sometimes get weirded out too but i think those cases are when the younger friend is like weirdly sadistic/possessive.)

EDIT: ok i went to read the 1st story’s extras to see if they hinted at the glasses guy x HS baseball elbow guy pair (doesn’t look like they did) and it looks like the couple there didn’t actually have sex? which like ok so the author was prob aware of the taking-advantage-of-younger-friend vibe but still not really interested in their story lol sorry

but also now that i know that glasses was like ‘you better not have touched your younger friend’ in that story, i think i kind of get that scene (back to talking abt sore ni namae o tsukeru nara now. this would be easier to differentiate if i remembered their names lmao) where glasses main was like ‘you’re more of a prince than me’ better ... i mean i already kind of sensed during my readthrough that he felt guilty abt using the HS main but also this definitely confirms the feeling of ‘god i’m trash for touching this kid who’s still in HS while i’m in college’

but i really liked this story. as i said before, i didn’t read the 1st story so i feel like the author kind of expected the reader to know the characters somewhat already so that’s why i felt they didn’t dive super deep into their respective characters but i enjoyed the two mains nonetheless. it’s a p classic BL story of younger guy is inexperienced w sex and older guy offers to help him lose his virginity and a friends w benefits thing ensues until they finally admit their feelings for one another after major miscommunications. (nice i basically spoiled the entire story but i mean if you’ve read a good amount of BL before then this exact story progression is expected from page one.) it was definitely a slow burn of sorts but i enjoyed having it drag out. overall, i really liked how it was written and drawn. the recent BLs i’ve read have been pretty hardcore so a part of me definitely felt like something was missing when i finished bc those BLs usually end the extra w a hardcore scene lmao but i actually really like these BLs where they give you a hint of the smut but don’t actually get super graphic with it (if i ever wrote these kinds of BLs w sex this is what i’d like to write). also bc it makes the soft scenes like the handholding scene in the movie theatre have some extra oomph bc you don’t get desensitized by extremely graphic sex to the point that you don’t feel anything for cute fluff like that. also when they revealed that the younger main’s birthday gift for the older main was a coffee maker ... BRO. DEAD ON IMPACT. anyway yeah even though they didn’t give like specific reasons/scenes explaining why they liked each other (which i usually like to have in stories lol) i liked how it was a subtle development and by the end before the confession scene you knew that they did like each other mutually. i feel like the older main’s relationship w his ex was prob covered more in the 1st story but you know what whatever he should be w someone who’s fr serious abt him (or well as serious as a high school kid can get i guess).

anyway a really cute story overall w pretty solid writing! i obviously looked up the author afterwards and i’m glad they continued to draw stuff for this pairing quite a bit after publishing the story (lol rip the 1st story’s pairing) and even wrote a side story for them as recently as march 2019. it kind of shows that the author really liked this couple and i guess that’s why their story seemed to be well done. also based on the twitter preview of that side story the author’s art improved a lot and i was like damn alright !! hopefully i can read that side story sometime!
