... i also had to break out the "how to draw planes" book and spent a lot of time squinting at other transformers designs dhfjchsj,, i dont know shit about vehicles or how to design transformers but i did my best :>!!
id usually write my design notes in an image but i am once again out of battery so yall get bullet points (about Mettaton)
the white/pinkish lines on Mettaton's chest and wings are intended to be kinda shaped like an M
his visor is also intended to mimic both the shape of his hair (over his eye) as well as the shape of his wings in NEO form
also, the visor always shines just so, and obscures his eye, but the other eye can generally be seen, unless dramatics call for his visor to be entirely opaque LOL
theres some joke to be made here about Mettaton's box form just being just a G1 styled version of this design lolol
the plane he turns into is a Lear Jet 23! the reason for this is: i saw this page in the book i mentioned and just went YES. METTATON.
(did you think i was joking about the how to draw planes book? i was not. i own this book. i got it for $2 lol)
originally he was going to be a fast car of some sort but then i remembered i also know fuck all about cars, and if hes a plane then i can give him thruster heels.
also his windshield is kinda shaped like a heart <3 that and the white lines being shaped like an M on his chest were incidental and i just leaned into it
... the lines on his head were also slightly inspired by Stealth Bomber!Megatron from the IDW comics because. Mettaton. Megatron. self explanatory.

idk someone about bones or whatever
#should've just yoinked someone else's design and reference them#i feel like im drawing bloodhound/velahound/octane/omen/kayo/shaxx/kaiser all at the same time#i basically just look at a body part and see what my brain has for it and slap it on#probably the worst you can go for character design#doesn't have a lot of bones because i can't come up with any original design and i don't wanna actually search for any reference for ideas#oh well. i literally came up with this only when i need to draw his lineart for yesterday's comic so not exactly surprising#i love capes and mysterious hooded pure black shadowed head so not even gonna design a helmet for him#also solves the bone plug issue because for the love of void i can't even understand half of what ordan is saying#that's the consequence of giving all your skill points on mathy stuff and none on literature#i mean i guess the bone plugs are somewhere at or above the neck??? so it's gonna be covered up anyways#im probably gonna go for roughly this design for ordan karris for now#i feel like i shouldn't even let him talk because any dialogues i come up with ruins his image#but idk. how many cool and stern characters' image have i ruined up until this point? yeah definitely not the first time#warframe#warframe ordan karris#my art

#my art#not sure if i wanna tag these... hrm#i wonder if alt text shows up in search results.... shudders#well anyway. i wanna ramble about these!!#for willy mafton: i've been working on designing more of the human cast. mainly all the big name important ones#it's been a slow process + a little challenging but i like getting the chance to practice drawing faces! :]#in regards to His design specifically.. it's very much based off of his movie apperance#but with a reference to that Classic sprite thrown in#bc i thought making him a little cartoony and inhuman would fit him :] but idk im not an expert on his character or anything#about the rabbit lady: i forgot how i had that idea initially but it ended up looking so fucking cool tbh#im always a fan of making her design less of a feminine eye candy type of design and more of a Spooky Murderer type >:3c#it also gave me the idea to try making some similar designs for the glams...#but if i do that im not gonna be giving them that vintage rubber mask look... since they're meant to be super flashy and high tech looking#so i was thinking they could have faces with more of a silicone texture.. and that have a style based more off of their in game art work :]#so they'd be like giant dolls with weird moving faces rather than having a vintage animatronic look#also that van in the bottom middle is 100% a homage to a specific user i wont be mentioning but iykyk HFJZJFJF#ANYWAY the 🌞🌜 stuff: dont be weird about it please HFJZJG#im aware that these tags are very easy to ignore but like. genuinely pls dont be weird about them#dont romanticize it. its not meant to be ''y/ndere'' or anything like that#its actually a bit personal to me so like... interpret it as you like but be aware its not meant to be a happy or positive thing#anyway i think thats all i have to say... i've been trying to branch out a tiny bit regarding the things i draw#it's always nice to challenge yourself even if its tough... especially if its tough!!#i mainly draw just for my own sake but i hope ppl see something they like here#these tags got so fucking long oops... i'll stop now JFKZJFKSJGKSJG
