The beach hasn't been that crowded since they last opened it up again after the so-called "Big Cleanup". (18/03/23): from wanderers, the trigun fic where i put post trimax vash and knives in the soup

"I don't like this," Nicholas repeats for the whatever-many-times since they walked into this godawful cave. (26/02/23): from a trigun wip where i. ehm. put vashwood in a situation (trimax tristamp crossover) (want to finish this but currently stuck in a scene)

He comes back. (14/02/23): from no one loves you as sincere as death, the trigun fic where vashmelly cry and have a group hug and wolfwood continues to haunt the. everything.

When Oboro finally finds Sensei again, it’s at the Shimura’s dojo. (02/08/22): from a gintama wip that's supposed to be a continuation for the other oboro fic (idk when/if i will pick this up again. writing oboro requires a certain Headspace)

1. First creation and most recent creation of 2020: this hmc edit was the first anime edit of the year (the very first one was red queen edit but it’s lit related so I’m not gonna link it here) and this itachi edit was the most recent one.

2. One of your favorite creations from 2020: probably this noragami edit. I love how it ended up looking especially the coloring since what I had in mind was totally different from the final result

3. A creation you’re really proud of: this team 7 edit and this itachi edit cause I stepped out of my “comfort zone” there and tried out some new styles and techniques so I’m really proud of making something that actually pleased me.

4. New style you tried this year and a gifset that uses it: i tried painting style!! I think i used it a little in each of my edits hehe but this bnha edit and this karasuno edit use it the best:))

5. A creation that took you forever: this bnha edit. I couldn’t get any motivation or inspiration plus i had exams back then. whatever i did i did like in 15 minutes and went to bed thinking i liked it. but the next I ended up hating the whole thing so it took at least 3 weeks (maybe even over a month) to finish it.

6. Your creation from 2020 that received the most notes: this noragami edit. I know this isn’t much but i didn’t even expect it to receive half of that amount lmao.

7. A creation you think deserved more notes: the most underrated of my creations are this fairy tail gifset and this itachi edit. I mean all of the creations deserve more notes and I’m not only talking about mine rn but eh guess this can’t be helped.

8. Creation with a favorite scene/quote: this hmc edit cause i don’t think there’s any other edit i created for a scene/quote hskshsj

9. A new fandom you joined and a creation you made for it: lmao I started watching animes in 2020 so each fandom I’m in rn i joined last year so every edit of mine can be put here gskagsjsh

A creation you made that breaks your heart: umm here’s a little problem I don’t think have an edit that “break my heart”. sure some panels can really be put into the category for example in 5th panel of itachis edit the mangacap is from when itachi said goodbye to sasuke during the war and that scene really made me cry but those emotions aren’t put into an edit as whole so I don’t consider it to be “heartbreaking” and the same goes for the other edits.

11. A ‘simple’ creation that you really love: this kageyama & hinata duo edit. It’s really simple and took me like an hour or two to finish it (it usually takes me at least 2-3 days😔) but i really like it!!

favorite anime: revolutionary girl utena. hands down. i could type an essay why, but if you follow me you already know lmao.

least favorite anime: guilty crown. so i only remembered this show existed when i made an anilist account recently, and it triggered a deep seated rage. i usually drop and forget shows i dont like, but this i saw all the way through for some godforsaken reason. i have no clue if anyone else saw or remembers this. it's probably in all honesty just a mediocre dystopian romance, i saw it when i was like 15, but i fucking hated this cliche show. it did not deserve its banging soundtrack.

honorable mention goes to carole and tuesday for despite the hype being 1) extremely mediocre for a slice of life 2) wildly transphobic and homophobic. if u want a gay slice of life about a band i am BEGGING you to watch given. just watch given.

last anime i watched: im currently keeping up w the weekly airings of jujutsu kaisen and wonder egg priority, both of which are phenomenal.

favorite anime movie: perfect blue. (do y'all see a pattern of Gender Surrealism from the late 90s....lmao.) i recently watched tokyo godfathers and loved that too, so i really need to finish satoshi kon's filmography. def one of my top directors.

comfort anime: rgu again lmao. im currently on my 4th watch of it dont @ me.

favorite anime character: literally impossible question, who do you take me for. i do have a fondness for the gay bastard problem children (nanami rgu, rika wonder egg, killua hxh, enta sarazanmai, ed fma).

shoujo or shonen: so given my incapability of shutting up about utena, you may be surprised to hear that, on the whole, i go with shonen. but it's my bread and butter. while rgu is the goat, the rest of my favorites will be titles like hxh, fma, mp100, and jjk. i do honestly consume a p eclectic mix of shonen, seinen, and shoujo tho.

if i could shift into an anime world, which would it be: idk it would definitely bite me in the ass but im down to be a wonder egg magical girl. its such a gorgeous world and i could use the symbolic magic therapy.

fandom(s): ace attorney is my main one rn bc i’m replaying the games with a friend of mine and it’s reminding me how invested i am in the characters!! a lot of my recent fic is atla stuff, altho i’ve been distancing myself from the fandom bc i’ve kinda exhausted my interest in it. finally i’ve been reading a lot of mp100 fic but i don’t think i’ll ever write for it. i just love how dumb all the characters r (with the dubious exception of ritsu)

where you post: ao3!! tbh i always get suprised when people say they write/read fic on any other platform like i haven’t messed around w wattpad or ff.net since middle school... catch up........

most popular oneshot: going just by “one chapter” as the definition of a oneshot, the firestarters, bc it’s fluffy and modern au :) i wouldn’t necessarily call it a oneshot tho bc to me a oneshot shows like, one scene? so like by my definition and your sweet sweet sun makes me crazy (i wanna lay you down and see how you amaze me is my most popular!! (also @ kit u thought UR fic titles were unnecessarily long??? i’ve hit the ao3 LIMIT for characters in titles. it’s about the aesthetic

most popular multichapter fic: sdkjflakjlkj it’s two crowned kings; and one that stood alone, which is a w359 fic i wrote back in late 2017. it’s literally the last fic i haven’t orphaned from when i actually wrote podcast fic (i have 4 other podcast fics but they were all borne out of nostalgia and written after i stopped participating in the fandom). i rewrote all but the last chapter? the last two? about a year ago and i fucked up halfway through so like chapter 6 and 7 are repeated and there’s something missing but i’m too lazy to fix it. no one’s going to read it now anyway :) it WAS the top minlace fic for a little while tho which i take great pride in.

favorite story you’ve written so far: oh that’s a hard question akfsldkfj i honestly like most of them!! and i write a LOT so there’s a lot to choose from. tonight, we are young is def one of my favorites- it was fun to write and i got to explore the ways zuko and yue r similar, which i LOVE to do outside of a zukka/yukka view. you can lean on my arm as you break my heart  is one that i’m really proud of? the whole “cooking as an expression of bato’s love” is definitely some of my favorites. a lot of my ace attorney fics would be categoried as my favorites if i hadn’t improved, too, if that makes sense. like they’re no long my favorites because i can see where my writing is shitty and it bothers me, but if i had written them a month ago they’d be my favorite.

fic you were nervous to post: figures 1-5: killing gods def!! it’s a lot more purple-prose-y than most of my fics and it was also written before i’d kinda like emersed myself in the atla fandom so i didn’t have as good a grasp on the general understanding of zuko’s character as i do now. tbh it’s one i’m rly happy w tho!! i have a few people leave really nice comments on it and rereading them makes me really happy. also it was the start of me hating the position of fire lord and being at least passively anti-it in my fics.

how you choose your titles: they’re almost all song lyrics!! only 14 of my 50 words AREN’T song lyrics and about half of those are from before i started writing ace attorney fic lol. sometimes i go into a fic with a song in mind for the vibes and then i usually go with lyrics from that (like in ‘cuz we’re the greatest /they’ll hang us in the louvre), but otherwise i usually pick an artist i’ve been listening to and go through their songs until i find a lyric that fits. sometimes the lyric doesn’t even really fit the fic and i just chose it at random or because i searching up the word “fly” in my spotify library or whatever. honestly i like coming up with titles? i know a lot of fic writers hate it but being able to just use song lyrics is v soothing for me and while i know that most people won’t search out a song just bc it’s a fic title like.. seeing that the title of a fic is a hozier lyric does affect how i read it and i kinda like that.

do you outline? i outline my long form/multichaptered fics with varying strictness. usually anything over ~8k will have some kind of outline. sometimes i go into it with every single scene planned out, sometimes it’s just notes on the side of the google doc that say “it's about MORE family. about how it's not betraying your existing family to find more” and “scenes i want to include: [...]” and “vampires... ngl kinda hot.” i’m trying to outline super strictly less bc i’ve found it’s less fun? but i do try to keep a plot arc in mind. since most of my fics are more character-driven than plot-driven, that usually just means keeping track of what character development i want to happen or what is motiviating the characters. 

complete: um everything posted on ao3 i guess. also the MULTITUDE of orphaned fics out there asksfjldkj i always click ‘leave my pseud on’ so if u look up my username you see all of my fics and then a. lot of other ones.

in progress: - a fic titled ‘dad phoenix’ that is actually just a no DL-6 au with defense attorney miles edgeworth and single dad bartender phoenix where neither of them want to date for A While but phoenix gets wrapped up in one of miles’s cases. it’s about family. it’s about writing teenagers. it’s about the background franmaya which is ALWAYS what i’m here for in wrightworth fics - a franmaya werewolf/vampire au because i’m ~gay~ and love rivals to lovers and also franziska and maya both being angry their older brothers r dating each other. - my secret santa fic!! which i can’t talk about much but it does feature toph and zuko and also piandao and jeong jeong???? idk where they came from but they are Part Of The Fic Now also i forgot iroh existed for half the fic and wrote piandao as zuko’s father figure and now i’m in too deep. - a 5+1 bakoda fic (maybe a bato/hakoda/kay fic??? i need to decide. that’s part of why this fic is still incomplete bc i can’t decide which relationship dynamic i prefer) that’s 5 times bato said he loves hakoda and one time hakoda said it back. possibly i have already written him saying i love u back and i need to change the title a little. - retail au klapollo where klavier works at an overpriced boutique and apollo comes in to buy earrings for nahyuta’s birthday. klavier gives him a punch card (one that the store doesn’t actually offer anymore as a bid to get apollo to come back) and all of apollo’s family come in to use the punch card and also give klavier variations on the shovel talk/find out if he’s actually into apollo. - a LOT of atla fics that i don’t think i’ll ever finish :(

coming soon/not yet started:  - i want to write some blackmadhi bc they’re.. cute..... and it’s a good excuse to also write athena and i love her - my stuff for yueki week!!! i have NOT prepped enough but hopefully i’ll remember in time! i wrote the prompts in a way that kinda set up stuff i’ve already wanted to write (don’t look at me lol) so hopefully i’ll get at least two or three fics finished in time. - i want to rewrite the wrightworth fic i have about them not getting married bc it was interesting and i like what i wrote about but i think i could have written it better and made it more interesting. rewriting fics is hard tho bc i’m never sure if it makes sense to just edit in the new work or to repost it? and then if u repost it do u delete the old one? conflicting so i might just not

do you accept prompts? totally!!! a disclaimer tho i’m not super into writing atla stuff anymore (most of the atla stuff i’m still writing is  something i made a commitment to finish) so if your prompt is an atla one i probably won’t do it :/ basically anything else is fair game tho!! podcasts/aa/sa/uh i don’t remember anything else but like if you search a fandom on my blog and come up with more than two posts about it chances r i’d be happy to write fic for it!

upcoming work that you’re most excited about: oh huh i mean probably the no dl-6 au!!! it’s the longest ace attorney fic i’ve written already and since it’s wrightworth it’ll get more attention than any franmaya fic i write. my standards r so high now tho after getting to much feedback from atla fans... love u all... obviously i have no choice but to pressure my atla mutuals into playing ace attorney. pls ask abt it bc i WIll Give You A Sales Pitch about why you’d like it in relation to atla

ffuckcingn Part 2 where i talk more abt resolutions But This Time Writing

So 

some resolutions in terms of Not Drawing. non art related goals. i really want to start writing again? like, definitely not as serious as art, this is like a personal enjoyment kind of thing, like a hobby? idk i guess it doesn’t matter really but ok basically, i have all those millions of documents in my phone right. all the thousands of fic ideas that i have but can’t get myself to write? i want to. write them,,

not all of them, probably definitely not all of them but i mean, i made this to-do list for myself, because i kind of have this thing i do that’s basically become tradition at this point where at the end of every semester im always scrambling to get finals done and while im doing that i get The Procrastination Urge where i suddenly get super excited to do everything that isn’t my homework, so i write it all down in a to-do list for after finals week is over & then i have Goals for the break in between semesters so i have stuff to do instead of just taking a thousand week-long depression naps, right. i mean, whether i actually ever do the things on my lists is another matter entirely but The Point Is i make them and i have them & on the most recent list one of the items is “write at least one fic & post it”

which i feel like is a pretty decent goal? with the number of fucking ideas i have crammed into my phone’s limited memory it’s not like i’ll exactly be wracking my brain for ideas, and i do genuinely enjoy writing, it’s just. my problem with writing in recent years has been mostly a lack of the required energy & motivation it takes to write out a full story, and i always just attributed that to depression, which is. partly true. i mean it’s fuckin valid as fuck but i think i’ve also come to realize that the reason it takes so much energy for me to write is because i’m a huge perfectionist when it comes to writing

like, im a perfectionist in general, and i’ll get all hard on myself about art too, but i feel like i have a much higher standard for my writing and That’s a big ol’ problem because my current skill level is way below that standard unless i push myself to my limit, which is where the massive energy suck comes from which is why i never write

i’ve seen some very good art advice before which is “let your drawings suck.” you can’t get better if u don’t crank out a bunch of shitty drawings first, etc. etc. and like, i never thought to apply that to writing too??? i’ve always been so caught up in, like, the concept of good writing; i feel like i know what makes a good story and i know the kinds of things to avoid and i know the principles of a successful narrative, but actually trying to put that knowledge into practice, getting into the details and each specific building block of a story is an entirely different process

it’s the difference between visualizing a painting & then actually painting it. it never comes out exactly how you pictured it because you never know what it’s gonna look like before you make it, you can’t know because it doesn’t exist yet. things happen in the process of making it, a multitude of factors influence you as you’re working on it, you know, things you couldn’t have predicted.

what i’m getting at is that me feeling like i know how to write doesn’t mean i actually know how to write and because i thought i knew how to write i felt like anything less than perfect writing was unacceptable because come on, you know this, you can do better than this, and i’ve let that hold me back for uh. a very long time

because the other way i’ve been looking at writing is. there is no sketching. with drawing, you have doodles, sketches and finished pieces. the way i was looking at it, writing is always the finished piece, so it always has to be polished and flawless, and i think part of that might be just the general way people seem to view writing, that it’s either Good or Bad, right. art is fine because everybody’s at a different skill level, everybody’s learning, but when people read something it’s always about “are they in character is the dialogue believable is the plot engaging is the vocabulary descriptive enough etc etc” and if it doesn’t meet most or all of those criteria then it’s a Bad Fic and it’s not worth their time

(which, side-note, i suppose the most significant reason for the difference between people’s attitude towards art vs writing would be the amount of time it takes to consume each one, right)

so i’ve always put this pressure on myself to write to the absolute best of my ability (and then some) or else it was shitty, embarrassing, things like that. and now that i’ve taken enough steps back to realize this, i want my new attitude towards my writing to be just. whatever happens happens. if you’re writing, then you’re practicing, and if you’re practicing, then you’re improving. anything is better than just letting ideas rot because you’re paralyzing yourself with a standard so high there’s no point in even trying to reach it. why try to scale a fuckin 50 ft wall when u can take the stairs, u know?

so this year im just gonna let myself write shitty stories & have as much fun with it as i can & not worry about making it perfect because literally 6 years went by because i wanted it to be perfect & i have fuckin jack shit to show for it. im just gonna Do it

and for my final resolution, along those same lines, i want to work on comics this year. i feel like comics are the ultimate combination of art and writing, at least for me. i need to know how to structure a story as well as put visuals to it, get a lot better at visual storytelling. i want to get a feel for how to lay out panels and how to pace things so that the story flows smoothly while remaining engaging and hitting all the beats it needs to, and just. idk i feel like such a beginner when it comes to comics and if that’s something i really want to do then i need to get started on really learning it, you know?

something that i feel like was helping me was actually redrawing pages of comics that i like; it’s one thing to study a comic by reading it & paying attention to things like layout and borders, but when i started redrawing a page of mp100, for example, i really got a close-up sense of what it’s like to actually... do it. because if you’re actually drawing the thing out for yourself, you can’t skip any details accidentally because you have to pay attention to everything if you want to replicate it accurately (or at least you have to see what’s going on in the original to be able to change it to whatever you want to change it to)

so i think this year im gonna do more comic studies, redraw some pages from my faves to see what’s really going on, and hopefully become more familiar with the process of making comics. i also want to making short comics of my own, which is where the storytelling comes in- the more creative elements as opposed to the technical aspects. i’ve had a few ideas for short comics in the past but i haven’t actually made them for a similar reason to the whole writing thing. just perfectionism in general. i need to let myself make shitty comics to be able to get to the good ones, so like. practice. experimentation. all that kind of stuff

anyway that’s pretty much it for resolutions this year? at least anything relating to art & writing. there are some that im confident i can do and some that im feeling a little shakier about but im at least willing to give them a shot and hopefully by the end of the year i’ll have made progress i can be proud of

This might be a little long and rambly....sorry.

I really just wanted to say thank you to everyone of you who has started following me in the past few months! Also thank you to my old watchers who have stuck it out since the beginning!!! I really, really appreciate you all so very much. Thanks for the encouragement and fun tags on my art. I love that you guys like my art style and line work and all that. I really do appreciate it all so much.

I know there’s been a whole lot of activity from me recently. Mostly MP100 drawings, but still. It’s really nice to be drawing finished pieces again. When I look back at my archive it’s really sad honestly (go back to January and you’ll see what i mean). In 2016 I posted literally, only like...30 things, none of them finished. I had gone through almost an entire year without drawing anything more than doodles and sketches (which I have yet to scan and post still). It’s not that I stopped drawing, idk what it was. I graduated in 2015 and from AI and I had done so much drawing during school, maybe I just needed a break? I dunno, but also during that year I had just gotten a job and moved and was just getting settled in the place I live now. Maybe that’s why I hadn’t drawn much in an entire year??

But a lot of you guys stuck with me! Even though I didn’t do much at all. I always said I’d start livestreaming, or I’d try to do a weekly drawing to help keep this place active, but I hardly ever followed through with it. Yet a lot of you are still here and that’s really great. I know I don’t draw much of the same things I used to draw, or what some of you used to follow me for. (Like maybe Trigun, One Piece, or....lol idk what else really haha) But I wanted to thank you all again for sticking it out still. I promise I still love all the series I used to draw art for!! (I’m actually really wanting to draw some more Trigun stuff again, but just haven’t yet)

And all you new followers, thank you as well! I’m guessing a lot of you started following because I’ve been going crazy with Mob Psycho drawings. I’m still absolutely in love with this series so there’ll still be more to come, so stay tuned. This show is the first show with a character I’ve come to associated with so sososossososo much. The only show I actually have a character I want to adopt as my son. lol the precious cinnamon roll boy. But that discussion is for another time because this is supposed to just be a big thank you note to everyone. So, all in all, thank you so very much all of you! The sort of "relationship" with things I like (rant-ish)

It's something I've been thinking lately, since when I got interested in the Star Trek franchise and decided to watch , slowly but surely, (almost) all of its tv shows and movies (idk if I'll ever be in the mood to watch Enterprise someday tbh), and read the wikihow article about "how to be a trekkie" or something: I don't feel like I belong/belonged to any fandoms. Like, ever.

I tend to get obssessed over certain specific characters, and end up drawing tons of fanart of said character, and of the tv show/game/anime/etc. they belong to, but I read fanfics very very rarely tbh., and I interact with the other fans even more rarely. I don't know/ remember absolutely everything about my favorite stuff, and there's a lot of fandoms who hate it if you can't be a walking encyclopedia of your favorite franchise and/your character.

To put ST aside for a while, I also finished watching the 1st season of One Punch Man recently. I know there's also the OVAs and the 2nd season, but while I do plan to watch the OVAs asap, I'm in no hurry to watch the 2nd season and read the manga. I'd rather wait to see if the 2nd season it's gonna have the same awesome pt-br dub the 1st season got, since a lot of people said the 2nd season has meh animation. And tbh, I prefer MP100 far more anyway, though I became a fan of Saitama, and I wasn't expecting that to happen really (I don't care much about the other characters tbh)

Oh well, maybe I'm just getting to old for this shit. Or I was just some sort of childish person with an old soul all along. Meh 🤷🏻‍♀️
