The 19th century is basically a shoujo drama and Kiku is the protagonist: Prussia and Japan have a very close linked history together, so much so that Japan adapted the German Civil law system into it's legal system. hi!! when it comes to media i have 2 sides which is either cutesy slice-of-life stuff or dark intense romances so hopefully both of these appeal to you lol

film-wise i recommend days of the bagnold summer! it's a heart-warming little flick about a mother who's trying to raise her slightly depressed metalhead kid in the best way she can :) it has a nice soundtrack as well by belle and sebastian

i also really loved watching love is the devil: a study for a portrait of francis bacon which shows how the painter's relationship with his younger male muse (portrayed by a young daniel craig! he's very charismatic in it methinks) both started and eventually fell apart. it does depict a somewhat toxic relationship and substance abuse caused by that; it's not particularly explicit about it, but i feel like that's what makes it hurt. visually it is excellent and people say it's very faithful to bacon's artistic style!! & the score is composed by ryuichi sakamoto!!! idk if it's easy to access online though, i couldn't find it on my 🏴‍☠️ site but it might be on amazon prime? if not, i substitute this rec with bound (1996) because i can't get that film out of my head. jennifer tilly is sooooooooooo incredibly beautiful

i don't watch a lot of tv shows to give recs apart from things that are already popular 😭 i love the bear of course. i just started watching this show called he's expecting on netflix which follows this japanese cis man who gets pregnant out of nowhere. it seems like it'll be cute and have a nice message but i have only watched ep 1 🤞🏽 i also like cutesy shoujo anime so if that's your thing i recommend monthly girls' nozaki-kun which is about a girl who has a crush on this guy in her high school who is a manga artist and many cute hijinks ensue as she tries to get closer to him <3

These are my other frames on the Opp wall, the first one’s a canvas (mdf) this deer came with a grizzly bear, then I have one from Renaissance period & Mid Century, the last one’s American Folk Art… it’s my favourite and I have more 3 from that era (19th Century) Its a portrait but it is still classified as that, they were into villages, landscapes and portraits, everything… Two age old hand drawn portraits (mini ones) got auctioned in their own respective frames for 10 crores cuz they are like artefacts now. I have a man and woman next to each other (I did the matchmaking) on my wall, the lady is very poised and graceful, she has a brooch and I have one more with red drapes on the corners and the woman in this painting has a beautiful choker and a matching bracelet along with that. One of the paintings which I have in my birch frame was again sold for crores so they took down all the original versions even digitally cuz they have to be exclusively the owner’s now, I got a slightly compressed version but I edited it and made it HQ it has a vintage toys and that is exactly what I was looking for and it looks great in the boxy wooden frame cuz the finish reminds me of toy boxes. I have got one more painting from my fav painter (don’t wanna share his details) he was also very fond of kids and dogs, one of them has a Yorkshire terrier, however the other one again got auctioned recently so I had a hard time finding the original dimensions (High Quality digital version) cuz they took it down from everywhere, I found it in some shady place though 🤫🤭😏

The first painting consisting of a Native American and Labrador is from the 60s-70s it’s very realistic and it has been donated by the artist to a Museum. The second one has a woman with a baby in swaddle and her skirt matches the Ditsy Floral wallpaper that I have in the shade vanilla. My oak frame broke 3 days back and it fell apart cuz I had it in the passage and the hanging system for that particular frame was ridiculous, it was lightly hinged towards the edge of the nail because that’s how it is hung in Korea idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ its a Japanese brand, they had a plastic attachment with a round shallow hole inside anyway it was not matching the other one and I luckily had a brown small frame ready (I have used one for Annabelle and another for a toddler in the corner on my chest of drawers) I had taken a set of around 7 frames for 899/- which was cheaper than the original price, it was from a diff place cuz I knew returning there would be easier and the frames would be cheaper too, didn’t want to take any risk because maximum reviews had downvoted them, they said these frames were so fragile that they were breaking very easily just like the oak frame even the glass is a little tainted but its not that visible and it resembles actual wood, I wanted a set of dark brown frames so I had taken it last year, it has 3 small, 2 medium and 2 large (square-ish rectangle) the joints aren’t that visible in real life but you need to handle them with care.

He joined the garrison because shiro told him to (not as in forced but like encouraged him to), not because he had any particular interest in the program but because he wanted to stay with shiro probably

He doesn’t really listen to music, but the songs he listens to are either really old or really obscure

He’s not averse to touching, he’s just not used to it, which is also why he doesn’t really initiate any touching either (gonna elaborate on this for a while)

I think this headcanon stems from his foster years, where he was just severely deprived of physical and emotional love from a parent, or any parental figure, 

so he has just become apprehensive in a way to initiate touching, because it was always unwanted by his foster parents and/or by himself 

(there were some foster parents that just made him uncomfortable)

But before that his father was very tactile in showing his love

he would pet his hair, and stroke his face, and sit with Keith in his lap, and hold his hand on his way to school

His dad also didn’t really give him any pet names or terms of endearment, and I think Keith got this habit from him

So therefore Keith doesn’t really use pet names when he dates someone

His dad kind of taught him in this way the importance of names and how a name can mean different things but still hold more value than a pet name

idk i would just imagine that if Keith started dating someone, he would just call them by their name because he can’t think of anything lovelier

Keith isn’t really a cryer. This isn’t because he’s stoic in any way or like “too masculine” or whatever, he just... doesn’t

he doesn’t really think about it, but it’s very rare if he cries

He’s very logical but impulsive which means he acts befor ehe thinks, but it doesn’t stem from passion or emotion but merely the logic of the action (like taking down Zarkon when he has the chance or chasing after Lotor before he loses him)

Logically those things make sense in the situation he was in both times but his impulsivity failed to recognize that he couldn’t possibly be enough for either of those situations alone (I think this also stems from trust issues and abandonment issues, so he overcompensates by taking on big responsibilities by himself that would eventually lead to his doom) 

this also means that sometimes he says things before he thinks about it, and it makes him a little blunt sometimes

When Keith doesn’t know what to do with his hands, he cleans his knife

He loves the rush of the wind in his hair. It’s cheesy but he really enjoys it.

He could potentially be a painter? or an artist?

ok so this kind of stems from the fact that i headcanon Krolia being a painter that painted the sunrise/sunset and hung it up in the house

and keith would look at them and wonder where they came from (his dad never really told him anything about his mother)

and i just think keith would be inspired to paint his own things, so ya

he doesn’t really get the chance to do any drawings in space but once he becomes part of the humanitarian project for the blades i think he would like to either paint or draw some of his favorite memories

Keith has a good memory when it comes to things that make an impression (I.e. bonding moment, his time with his dad, when Shiro said he would never give up on him, etc.)

that’s it so far, i may come back to this if i think of anything else but ya these are my headcanon for Keith to sprinkle in a little character (lord knows the writers robbed him of any sense of personality after season 2 but we don’t talk about that)

Do you usually take blame or blame others? Depends on the context, I guess? When things go wrong on a very deep and personal level between me and people I deeply care for, I usually try to find reasons to blame myself. But if it’s something superficial, like if someone messes up at work through no fault of my own, then I’m able to point my finger to whoever fucked up.

Have you ever been to a McDonald’s in another state? I’ve been to McDonald’s in different provinces and also  in different countries. The McDonald’s we went to in Baguio was so surreal because we discovered that they were still using styrofoam containers that they had already phased out years ago everywhere else, and they also never changed the original spaghetti and chicken recipes I grew up with. It was such a blast from the past. As for other countries, I’ve tried out the McDonald’s in Malaysia, Indonesia, and China and made sure to order items that we didn’t have back home.

Have you ever seen 50 First Dates? Yeah, it’s one of my semi-guilty pleasures. It’s such a cheesy movie, but idk the concept is unique and the supporting characters made the whole movie enjoyable for me.

Do you like or hate the smell of fish? The fishy smell at the market can be pretty strong and bleck, but generally I don’t mind the smell of fish. I live in an archipelago, man. We live and breathe seafood. Idk anyone in real life who doesn’t like fish.

Top 10 Badass Female Characters in Fire Emblem Fates (in my opinion)

10- Reina/Peri

Okay so the reason why there's two people in this slot is because they're literally the same archetype. They love blood and killing and violence and blah blah blah, BUT ALSO they have at least some levels of depth and complexity to their character to keep them from being boring one note death machines. Problem is Reina doesn't have any supports with anyone so you don't get to know much more about her, but she protected your mom. Peri protects your older brother. Anyone who keeps your family safe is definitely badass.

9- Kagero

Ah Kagero. You get captured all the freakin time but that's not your fault. You're still the best dread fighter hands down, and definitely my favorite ninja (Kaze is too fragile and Saizo is too slow and Soleil is unavailable to a path). Plus she's an artist and while she may not be the best painter she still loves it and enjoys her hobby. She's a loyal servant and an even more loyal friend, and would put her own life on the line to protect your brother.

8- Anna

Can't fault a girl for war profiteering. Strong independent woman don't need no man, been around the block for centuries and across kingdoms, crack shot with a bow, gold farmer, feisty redhead, runs circles around the L crew, I could go on. She's always on my team and is supported by MC for dem stats and the unity ability in pretty sure procs make a killing but idk. Regardless she's still gr9.

7- Arete

She gets killed like four times before finally going down, and that first time was fairly heroic honestly. Definitely one of the most important people in regards to lore.

6- Camilla

What list would be complete without the best sister??? No not because of her giant tiddies (awesome to look at they may be) or the giant ass window (also awesome to look at) or even the weird incest thing going on (I guess from a Japanese lens that's awesome too but eeehhh) but because she's actually a great combat unit especially if she spends a couple levels as a hero getting those skills. Axes AND magic AND an attack buff means she should always be out on the field. She may be insane and has a lust for blood rivaling Peri, but she's a good sister, a good ruler, and a good unit.

5- Soleil

Oh yes. FUCKING SUPERB YOU FUNKY LITTLE LESBIAN! She's a big glass cannon so I always make her a master ninja and god is she a good ninja. She never gives up even in the face of innumerable odds, she's got great stats all depending on who her mom is, she's SUPER FUCKING GAY FOR GIRLS, oh yeah and she's a teenager leading a band of mercenaries; how fucking cool is that?

4- Rinkah

Stomp on me like you stomp on enemies. Oni savages are like fighters with better stats and both blacksmiths and chieftains have some top notch skills and she's the only one in the game who can do that naturally. She's an adamantly staunch advocate for her people, and makes leaps and bounds of character development through her supports. She's also clearly the most visibly sculpted lady sans for maybe Effie and anyone packing that much solid muscle has got to be pretty fucking awesome.

3- Hinoka

Real talk tho Hinoka is the actual best sister slash mom. Proof? Setsuna and Azama are both still alive somehow. The providence that protects them from traps and getting choked to death has got to be the pegasus knight. She's the second best female offensive lance user in the game (excluding knight/cavalier/merchant/basara/etc who have different roles than pure adjacent physical lance-based dps), especially if she A+'s either Camilla or Setsuna and S's either Xander or Silas. She's got enough variety to her that I feel the Lucina seal would simply be wasted on her. My only complaint is that without reclassify she kinda sucks but hey, just buy a freakin heart seal.

2- Scarlet

VIVA LA REVOLUCION! Tragic you can only use her in one path. I romanced her in my very first playthrough to give stats to my Kana (and also because I knew it would be my only chance to really use her). She deserves so much better than to just be fridge stuffing to give Ryoma that manpain. Dammit Japan. At least she's got the coolest armor design.

HONORABLE MENTIONS TIME!

Azura: the fucking queen of Valla who carries the plot on her shoulders. literally the most important person in canon. deserves better.

Felicia: accidental badassery still counts, right? slap on a flame shuriken and watch heads roll.

Hana: best samurai. like lon'qu but actually with personality. rough and abrasive but has a heart of gold.

Beruka: cold blooded contract killer trying to learn how to feel. similar to Reina/Peri but she doesn't kill for fun, she kills to survive. she's just really good at it.

Lilith: f

Cassita: she bakes you cookies. SHE. BAKES. YOU. COOKIES. okay. when will your fave ever? except for camilla, she baked you cookies too, but camilla has crippling depression, mommy issues, a whole lotta weird borderline incest stuff going on (even though you're adopted so it's okay according to japan... oh, who am I kidding, I fucked leo to have dragon forrest and because FOLGERS COFFEE COMMERCIAL). anyway. cassita only knows that you're armed, dangerous, here to kill the king, and once knew her darling elise, but she shelters your entire fucking army and then BAKES. YOU. NICE HOT FRESH CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. bless her big beautiful heart. you can be badass without kicking someone's ass.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

1- Oboro

fuck, man, she is just the best. best outfit, best stats, best combat ability, best class, and has a personality and hobbies and interests and likes and dislikes and flaws... I literally cried a little bit when I had to kill her in conquest. she is my favorite character in the whole game and she just kicks so much ass. I can't adequately put it into words, it's just... agh, she's great. 10/10

books i read in october

will i even read anything this month? MAYBE NOT (i did.)

der gang vor die hunde (going to the dogs), erich kästner  the restored full text of kästner’s fabian, a satirical novel about late weimar berlin and how it is.... going to the dogs. it’s witty, everyone is dancing (and uh, fucking) on the edge of the abyss, fabian sees the end of europe everywhere he looks, but my favourite bits were honestly kästner’s incredibly sharp & funny postscripts (one to the moral censors, one to the art critics - ‘this book is not for confirmees, no matter how old they are’), and the blurb calling berlin ‘der zärtliche moloch der moderne’/’the tender moloch of modernity’. 3.5/5

hier ist noch alles möglich, gianna molinari longlisted for german book prize. a short novel about a woman who decides to become a nightguard at a rundown factory where a wolf has been seen (maybe). mostly, it’s ramblings about borders/boundaries, intrusions and separations of space (the wolf coming into the factory, the fence of the factory, islands etc). it’s interesting, but it’s a bit too long for what it did. 2.5/5

when hitler stole pink rabbit, judith kerr i’ve had this book for like. probably 15 years? god. anyway, somehow i never read it and picked it up now to get it off the unread shelf. it’s a fictionalised account of kerr’s childhood as a refugee after her jewish family leaves germany just before the nazis come into power, and their struggle to make a living and find their place in the countries they escape to. it was really well-done, not overly didactic or sentimental & i should have read it as a kid i guess! 3/5 

die liebe unter aliens, terézia mora short story collection. i listened to the audio book, which only has 5 of the 10 stories (which i didn’t know before), so that’s a bit disappointing. anyway, the title means ‘love among aliens’, but sadly there were no aliens :(. just alienated people trying to find something/themselves/etc. i liked mora’s style, but the only story i rly liked was one about a japanese prof who falls in love with a goddess. 2.5/5, gave it 3/5 on goodreads bc i only heard half the stories 

buried in the sky, peter zuckerman & amanda padoan i find mountaineering disasters morbidly fascinating & am kinda obsessed with them (throwback to last year when i read into thin air & told everyone who’d listen not to climb everest & they were all like.... wasn’t planning to but okay??). k2 is only slightly less high than everest but much more difficult technically (all the climbers r like.... oh everest is so easy i wanted a real challenge like.... k). anyway this book is focused on a particular disaster on k2 during which 11 people died, as well as on the position, history, culture etc. of the indigenous ethnic groups that live in these regions & work for mountaineering expeditions (Sherpas being the most well-known but there are others as well!). since the authors weren’t on this expedition, it’s not quite as harrowing and immersive as into thin air  but it’s still plenty harrowing! horrible deaths! the deaths of the high altitude workers were incredibly tragic & while obvi the mountaineers’ deaths are sad too, i feel like they know what they’re getting into & they’re not doing it out of economic necessity but for like... fun? the rush? pride? idk. but anyway if you don’t wanna die... don’t go into the DEATH ZONE. it’s literally called the DEATH ZONE DON’T GO THERE. anyway yeah i find everything about extreme mountaineering super fascinating & terrifying & this is a good one, tho into thin air would be still my #1 rec. 4/5

wenn es nur licht gäbe, bevor es dunkel wird, iunona guruli tbh i mainly got this on overdrive bc i hadn’t really read anything from georgia (the country in the caucasus, not the american state). it’s a short story collection (mostly about/set in georgia but written in german) on themes like drug abuse, gendered, sexual & domestic violence and depression, so... not much fun here! there is a dreamlike quality to some of the stories which i think contrasted well with the quite dark themes, but overall the stories were too similar & blended together too much for me, and sometimes the style seemed a bit too laboured. 2.5/5 

unter weißen, mohamed amjahid really good, persuasive & engaging examination of racism in germany, accessible without being basic. i haven’t really read a book like this about specifically german racism and its particularities, especially one so recent (it was published in 2017 & the context of the ‘refugee crisis’ is rly important). amjahid (who’s a journalist with die zeit currently) works w/ a lot of personal anecdotes and they are uh. horrible. like, one chapter is about the paternalistic side of willkommenskultur, where he goes to munich train station to interview volunteers welcoming refugees and some of them immediately cast him as ‘helpless ignorant refugee in need of our benevolence’ & dehumanise him to the point that they don’t even register that he’s speaking to them in german like. fuck. 4/5

desintegriert euch!, max czollek (actually finished this a bit later but it goes well with the amjahid book) while amjahid discusses racism in germany both in general terms and specifically islamophobia, czollek focuses on german antisemitism and advocates for disassimilation & alliances between different marginalised groups in rejection of german ‘leitkultur’. also he talks about daniel kahn in a chapter on jewish revenge & i love daniel kahn. 4/5

the white guard, mikhail bulgakov (tr. from russian) look, the situation in kiev after the russian revolution and the multiple military take-overs of the city is interesting and all (tho incredibly confusing if like me you don’t know who any of the factions are or what they want), but where’s the devil? where are the witchy vibes? where is the demonic talking cat? 3/5

der vogelgott, susanne röckel so this was shortlisted for this year’s german book prize and i can totally see why. it’s disturbing, compelling, has a lot of conceptually interesting weird stuff going on and it almost really worked for me. it’s a story about three siblings haunted by a strange & horrible birdgod after their father, a hobby ornithologist and taxidermist, kills a bird he shouldn’t have. while the siblings live very different lives - one goes to a fictional african (?) country to work for an ngo, one is working on her doctoral thesis on a medieval german painter, the third is a journalist researching strange fears and dreams that are troubling the city’s children - all of them become entwined with this birdgod and the cult(s) surrounding it. my problem is mainly that the book uses the ‘too horrible to describe/comprehend’ trope way too much, which is effective the first few times but eventually wears off & just becomes annoying and like.... so what?? also, the first sibling’s chapter uses some very colonialist tropes about the savage religions and customs of the uncivilised natives, and while there is an attempt at subversion here (e.g. the same cult being present in medieval germany apparently), it didn’t feel like enough for me. but overall this is a really interesting, disturbing little book. 3.5/5

king lear, shakespeare (for uni) honestly... i expected more from this, tho to be fair reading it in a rush for a seminar (that ended up getting cancelled anyway) probably wasn’t ideal. overall i just.... didn’t feel anything about anyone (except the YAAAS BITCH vibes for regan/goneril/edmond’s shenanigans), many characters’ choices & actions didn’t make sense to me & i was disappointed that cordelia wasn’t a character as much as a ~pure selfless angel for lear to have feelings about. 2/5

〖REVIEW〗POTN 2.45

Before I get to the first chapter of season 2, here’s a quick recap of season 1. Spoilers up ahead :)

Yoon Seungho is a rich nobleman in the ye olde Korean days whose only concern in life is the care and feeding of his trouser snake. His latest obsession is the erotic artwork done by a mysterious man who has suddenly stopped painting. Like all rich brats, Seungho refuses to accept the fact that the world doesn’t revolve around him & tracks down the painter, a low-born man named Baek Nakyum who now spends his days as a drunk. Seungho forces and coerces Nakyum to come live in his household and paint for him exclusively.

As another measure to ensure that the skittish Nakyum paints for him, Seungho also recruits Nakyum’s teacher and crush Sir Jung Inhun into his household. Sir Inhun is an ambitious scholar who teaches reading and writing to the local children and writes badly plagiarized poetry in his free time (according to Seungho, idk cuz I don’t know about historical Korean poets lol). It was Sir Inhun who harshly reprimanded Nakyum when he found out about the paintings and made him vow to stop.

As Nakyum spends most of his evenings in Seungho’s bedchambers watching the lord’s bed sports with his various hoes and attempting to paint those acts, Nakyum and Seungho start eye fucking. Eventually the two do the horizontal tango, with Nakyum reluctantly getting dragged along for the ride (as most innocent yaoi character types are wont to do). Which raises a couple of eyebrows from the people around them, including Seungho’s main fuck buddy, the pretty wavy haired Lord Jiwha and Sir Inhun who encourages Nakyum to pursue the relationship in hopes Nakyum could reveal any dirt on Seungho.

Season 1 ends with Nakyum finally embracing a sexual relationship with Seungho after Sir Snake in Sheep’s Clothing tells him that mayhaps his lot in life was to be a prostitute. Sir Inhun goes off to take his exams to become a govt offical with the support of Seungho. And Jiwha hires a rough looking dude for Nakyum-you-in-danger-girl reasons.

Summary

Chapter 45 begins with a street peddler relaying the latest gossip about Seungho while playing a shell game with two guys. Apparently the lord has been so been so preoccupied playing find the sausage 24/7 with a new bed partner that he hasn’t been up to his usual debauchery lately. The peddler concludes that the lord has taken a fiancee. A close friend had visited the household recently and actually saw the butt naked lord leaving his chambers during the day with the woman in his arms. She was wrapped in his blanket but it was for sure a woman cuz she had smooth legs lol. 

The peddler’s customers counter that Seungho hasn’t been in bed 24/7 cuz they saw him out and about, being followed around by a servant boy. *insert shot of Nakyum’s pretty face in his cute little winter muffler uwu* Meanwhile Seungho’s servant, watches them from the sidelines like

The men continue to debate about the existence of Seungho’s fiancee, also mentioning that Seungho has completely abandoned Lord Jiwha (bye pretty Felicia!). One of them concludes that the mysterious woman must have reformed the lord with the power of her pussy magic.

Cut to Nakyum slurping on Seungho’s slong (peak comedy). Seungho teases Nakyum about his change of heart regarding sex and his bad bj skillz. When pressed, Nakyum replies that sex is nice and he likes it. Nakyum’s mid-coitus phrasing makes it sound like he’s saying he likes Seungho (”I like- my lord...I like it...”) and Seungho immediately splurts his soldiers into Nakyum’s honey pot.

Seungho’s servant arrives home & instructs another servant to put the painting supplies he just purchased in Nakyum’s room. This random hoity toity servant throws a little conniption over why they have to do things for the painter and Seungho’s servant replies that Nakyum is favored by their master (dude were you in a coma during all of season 1?).

My Thoughts

I wonder how much the world outside Seungho’s household will encroach on our main couple’s relationship this season. It really wasn’t much of a concern last season. Most we got was gossip about Seungho’s wild, lewd ways. And that one droopy-eyed fuck buddy who egged Jihwa on to make a fool of himself. Oh and Seungho’s younger brother who made a brief appearance and tried to get Seungho to come back into the family fold and do what other good lords do. I’m guessing that since season 2 began with rumors outside of the house, we’re gonna see more outside eyes and ears and wagging tongues this season. Ughhh not looking forward to that. Though it’s realistic and expected, I really hate people who can’t mind their own business.

Nakyum my poor baby. I don’t think he’s suddenly fallen in love with Seungho. He’s still hung up on Sir Oily Weasel. This is the second time he’s fallen apart because of that greasy four eyes. When Sir Inhun reprimanded him over the paintings, he turned to alcohol. Now that Sir Inhun has basically told him he’s nothing more than a prostitute, he’s turned to using his body TT___TT Poor baby is quite fragile. I don’t think (and I hope) he’ll fall in love with Seungho for a while.

Seungho on the other hand, I do think he’s starting to fall for Nakyum. There were rumblings of this in season 1. Seungho’s obsession over Nakyum’s paintings slowly transferred to Nakyum himself. It’s funny how Seungho told Nakyum he’d never sleep with peasants and here he is going above and beyond to take care of his little painter. And I don’t think it’s a mistake that the artist immediately shows Seungho’s face/facial reaction whenever Nakyum utters the word “like” during sex, especially his reactions when they had sex for the first time and in this chapter. If he’d let go of his ego a bit more, he’d probably be able to admit that he cares of Nakyum.

However, we should be cautious talking about love when it comes to Seungho. There are hints of something in his past that makes him emotionally constipated plus he’s a dick irregardless of tragic past lol. So I don’t think we’re gonna get lovey-dovey boyfriend to introduce to your parents gooey-ness from Seungho. At most, I think we can expect him to care and provide for Nakyum (I will fight all 6 feet 2 inches of Seungho if Nakyum gets hurt even more on his watch).

This was a great albeit short start to season 2. Looking forward to the next chapter.

PS: This is random but I love when they call Nakyum "little one” or that “funny fella” lol.

Original fics (I'm going to be including both the works I've started and the ones that I wish to start but are currently just ideas rattling around my brain. As I was summarizing this I realized how messed up some of these are so I’m gonna give a content warning for death, abuse, body horror?, cannibalism, supernatural evils, attempted rape:

-a post apocalyptic novel about a group of teenagers who become refugees after their hometown is attacked by bandits and they end up fighting some cannibals and shit 

- currently there’s kinda an idea for a horror book in my brain about an evil ghost that preys on mentally ill people because neurotypicals find us less credible. Don’t worry the ghost gets killed in the end by a kickass lady and the sibling of one of its victims.

-  A woman is with her older sister, her niece, and her brother in law when the zombie apocalypse starts. Her parents were scientists and she was named after one of their coworkers.The brother in law is bitten and killed and the sister kills herself shortly thereafter. The protagonist is left to care for her niece. They end up in this community run by a tyrannical guy who sends the niece away against her will. She escapes and wanders alone until she’s scratched by a raccoon. The scratch gets infected but she's saved by another woman. They begin dating and find a new community that’s actually safe and good. They get word of the niece and decide to leave together to find her.

- A teenage boy with monoplegia in one of his legs caused by a spinal injury navigates the zombie apocalypse. His journey begins with his mother, infant sibling, and abusive father who escaped jail at the start of the apocalypse. He was in jail for causing the car crash that injured the protagonist by driving drunk. To escape a zombie horde the father throws the baby into the mob and the mother runs in after the baby, they both die. The protagonist is left with his abusive father who is eventually killed by a badass afab agender hero in a hotel. The hotel is overrun by the dead and they escape together. Once outside they steal a car with a key in the ignition. They drive for miles heading towards a refuge from the dead, a safe community where they can live out the rest of their lives in safety, when they hear noises coming from the trunk. They open the truck, expecting to kill a member of the undead, but are instead surprised by the presence of a kidnapped teenage girl. They drive together to the community but the protagonist is denied entrance because of his disability. The girl enters the community but the protagonist and agender badass move on. They encounter a group of other disabled people who were denied entrance to the safe haven. Notable members are a spunky autistic girl, and a deaf young woman who turns out to be the sister of the teenage girl they’d previously traveled with.

- Okay so Nina Normal is a transracial adoptee from India who is living in Kansas. She was adopted when she was a baby so she never meets her birth parents and they literally never become a plot point. She visits her uncle in his science lab and is caught in the explosion of a particle accelerator that gives her super speed. She starts fighting bigots with her best friend Maia, a Japanese teen who is an aspiring voice actress. She also attempts to dismantle Narcorp, a company responsible for selling the faulty lab equipment that caused her accident who’s goal is to cause people to get super powers so that they can have a super powered army.

-Okay so this one is an ace lesbian named Lana has a super abusive mom and also she is a princess. She’s a painter and has magic but she has dyslexia so finds it difficult to read spellbooks. There’s this army that trying to overthrow the queen and she joins them after her mom throws her out of the house after she attempts suicide. In the army she meets a girl Mary and she and Mary start dating. The queen’s army threatens to attack Mary’s army while it’s weak and Lana gives herself up to protect Mary. Lana’s mom tries to do a ritual to remove Lana’s magic for herself but it’s interrupted by Lana’s father, who she’s never met, rescuing her. Lana’s dad returns her to Mary and helps aid the overthrow of the queen. Lana and Mary have a huge fight about Lana’s mother’s execution and Lana goes to study magic in her father’s court. Lana’s dad turns out to be a dickhead, he tries to make Lana get married to a dude but obviously she doesn’t want to because she’s gay and also still hung up on Mary. The dude gets drunk and tries to rape Lana but she uses a spell to make him start throwing up and get really sick. Lana returns to Mary and helps dissolve the monarchy in her home queendom. It basically becomes a lovely anarchist commune and Mary and Lana get back together and also get married and live happily ever after.

- Okay so this one doesn’t have any humans. It takes place in a different solar system on the planet of Oceana. Oceana is almost entirely water and it has a bunch of different mermaid cultures and types of mermaids. There are polar mermaids that live in the cold areas, can survive on the ice, they have gills and tails, the way they walk is by digging their claws into the ice and dragging themselves around. The deep sea mermaids are more like angler fish, they have super great hearing and rather than speaking and doing hand motions like polar mermaids they communicate by flashing their lights. Basically the different mermaid tribes are at war and idk the mc is trying to resolve the conflict. The mermaids would be different sizes based on whatever fish they’re supposed to be.

-So there’s this evil group trying to turn people superpowered to do espionage shit idk. And they kidnap a bunch of at-risk teens to experiment on giving them powers or to study their naturally occuring powers. The kids eventually escape during an attack on the lab by a group opposing the scientists, but some of the kids got left behind. They begin working with the attackers to rescue their friends. What happened to them has some fallout on the kids like the mc’s boyfriend becomes addicted to drugs from his struggle to cope. Eventually the kids that got left behind are rescued. Some of them don’t want to keep fighting the organiation and move on. Other’s feel like their lives have purpose since they began the fight and keep at it. The one’s who moved on get roped back into it when the organization attacks a very public place and their guilt gets them involved.
