Keeping in line with the War/Knowledge domain, I'd imagine part of the Goat cult's progression would be researching and/or finding various scrolls and books on the art of war (lmao), armor and weapon forging, etc- that in turn would be taught to the cult and then applied by the followers at large. I'd imagine that in game mechanics this would upgrade your followers hearts, damage, attack speed, and the like-

Also I'd imagine this ruthless but kinda necessary way of life is the reason you said the cult hasn't had kids for decades - there's simply no time to raise and teach children (also it'd be morally meh to send kids to war but it's a cult so it's probably not the important part lmao)

Also also, I know you mentioned this a long time ago and idk if it still stands in the au but I love that the Goat was hanged - because in my imagination Shamura kinda made the realm they're stuck in a bit "their own" by putting up silk webs, and I imagine Goat would get caught in said webs, and thus would be reminded of their caught-in-a-rope execution - angst :)

Also also also- for the sake of angst, I imagine Goat wasn't the last goat alive by the time they were executed, and Shamura chose them specifically for fighting back against their captors till the end - but because first resurrections is probably a rough and long process, by the time they're fully back on their feet, there is no other goat left

OKAY THIS IS A LOT and i don’t know if i have a whole lot to say in response other than YAAAYYY YAY YAYA YAYY YAY!!!! But lemme add on where i think i can. Separating these rants by paragraph

Paragraph one- yeah!! I like adding on to the usefulness of followers in battle and how that would operate in game! Shammy’s the only bishop who puts the lambs followers against them, so they ARE capable of making weaklings into warriors- even with their mind shattered. Surely a Sham with their mind fully in tact (and hellbent on revenge against those ungrateful vermin they called siblings) can create warriors out of thin air- and anything the god can do the vessel as well can do. I imagine having a follower with you is like fighting alongside a smash bros CPU, they’re gonna do whatever. Maybe it could operate as like the “official” way to play multiplayer by yourself, just instead of the lamb its that one fuckass deer you indoctrinated two seconds ago and nobody else is controlling him. Am I making sense😅 this has me rlly cheesed this idea

Paragraph two- I mention the Goats flock has no babies because THERE IS NO SEX UPDATE FOR THE GOT!!! Theres no sin yet.I don’t even know if the purple crown can absorb sin because like- war, knowledge, that’s not sin or death! FORBIDDEN knowledge could be seen as sin so maybe(?) but even so Goat isn’t there yet. But this is SUCH a good in universe explanation for why there’s no babies, I usually just say it’s cuz these followers are too busy eating each others faces- the cannibalism plus the desire to cut out the weak makes babies a bad idea

Paragraph three- THAT DOES STILL STAND!! GOAT WAS HUNG AT THE GALLOWS! It was a public execution similar to Lambys but unlike Lambys, his was not instant. Think “still breathing out of a broken neck for several minutes” levels of slow. This also is giving me major ideas on how I want “Sham’s realm” to look like. Sham’s realm in quotations because as it stands in the AU it IS technically Nari’s domain- aka it’s just the deepest pit they know of that Shamura can’t easily crawl out of. I do like the idea of them “prettying” it up but with how tight the chains are around their neck I imagine its only kinda pretty. Cama and Zotz defo helped them decorate once they hit like 10-12 and they were able to take direct orders and not “fuck it up”.

Paragraph four- YES. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. YES. i love how you kept in mind resurrections by the god of War aren’t the same nor nearly as good as resurrections by the god of Death. SBAU STAMP OF CANONICITY. I will be drawing pathetic Goat with his first follower (hold on i need to log back in to see what their first follower was again) struggling to keep their stupid ichor-leaking bloody broken body from falling apart through the power of devotion and a LOT and i mean a LOT of cotl’s equivalent to duck tape. I imagine at that point in time the real leader wasn’t even Goat, it was their follower keeping them alive through devotion, gathering food and “coming across lonely souls that needed salvation.”

THIS IS. ACTUALLY A GOOD QUESTION. he did of course have a kid later in life (and hundreds more if you count the hybrids which. I don’t.) BUT. HE WAS STILL CALLED PUMPKIN DADDY BEFORE ALL THAT. the reason for this doesn’t have an in-universe explanation other than “he was nicknamed that and no matter how much he tried he couldn’t get people to stop calling him that” BUT it has an actual real world explanation. If ya harken back to the origin of all this pumpkin daddy nonsense, it all stemmed from a single out of context page from an old fan comic I stumbled across. IN THIS PAGE his child* (*not worth getting into the actual context there, this is about PDBC not roots) called him daddy and that was the only context I had to anything. I in fact didn’t begin calling him pumpkin daddy immediately, it’s just that in my notes I simply wrote “weird pumpkin daddy??” And after a while the name pumpkin daddy just kinda stuck I guess. So, short answer, because I called him that and I could never shake the nickname so it stuck after all this time

EXCELLENT QUESTION it’s probably a bit of both. I feel like I wrote somewhere that he was eventually able to figure out how time in the briar zome works but I don’t remember where I wrote it and it’s approaching midnight and I’m not gonna dig through all those notes to find it lol. But it’s probably more so fascination I’d say, when it comes to the pocket dimensions I think the briar zome is the only one that has any substantial time differences. I guess I’ve never thought about it, and it could be interesting to implement different time rules in the alcoves and such, so I very well may just steal that idea. But for what I have in the plot currently, there aren’t any mentioned time differences in the alcoves. But the briar zome, yeah, time is wack there. I doubt being unable to figure out how time works there would frustrate him, at least not that much, but being there for long periods of time pisses him off because there’s that underlying thought that time could very well be passing like normal in the real world and he’d just be gone for who knows how long

First Meet

...My memories are a little fuzzy, but I sort of remember that day.

Back then, when I was still some pathetic young man who always hated the life that I lived, I met someone.

Someone who felt like the light in my dark world.

He was the one who made me realize that maybe, just maybe—life is worth living, after all.

On that day, I was alone. Sitting at a park's bench, sulking silently. I think I got into an argument with one of my caretakers on that day...? I can't clearly remember it, but I think that's the main reason why I was initially so sad that day. I can't remember the main reason, though. Something about how I wanted to go out and live on my own, away from...some form of abuse I was facing back at home?

Home?

What was my home like?

I...I don't remember...

Eventually, this beautiful, gorgeous, absolutely handsome young man came up to me and comforted me. It felt embarrassing once I'm looking back at it. The first time I met the one man who would eventually be my life companion forever was the one time I was literally vulnerable back then. Damn, I definitely held in my emotions a lot back in the day.

Back in the day, as in so many centuries ago.

He asked me my name, I think. I don't remember my old name, but I told him that name. He then introduced himself—oh, Felys...it truly was and will always be a name that makes me happy whenever I hear someone say it. It's just- such a beautiful name for an equally beautiful man like him.

After that, we spent the day together. He treated me to this one restaurant that's just so fancy. I sort of forgot that he was pretty rich back then. I guess that's the perks of being in a rich family.

We hung out regularly ever since—y'know, just so that I can get away from that abusive household I was in, and so that I can at least shoot a shot at him. For fuck's sake, I was so head over heels for him even before becoming a God. It's funny.

Though, one day, around a year after we first met, he suddenly came to me, literally on the verge of tears. He just hugged me so tightly, that I felt like I was dreaming. After he calmed down, he told me his parents got into an accident, and they didn't exactly survived it either. I felt bad, I really did. By that point, he'll have to live alone. It's sad, to say the least.

Days after that, the incident involving Ms. Paradox happened. Around that time, I also got really horribly sick—but it wasn't like my caretakers really gave a shit about me and the other kids to begin with.

...Other kids?

Did I have siblings?

Gah...I don't remember either.

My sickness got really bad the following days, though. It was to the point where sometimes, I found myself struggling to breath. It was...definitely a horrifying experience.

Amidst the whole thing with Ms. Paradox, I ran away from home out of fear. I couldn't exactly stay strong any longer, though, so by the time Ms. Tsunagite already stopped Ms. Paradox's bullshit, I had already passed.

It's...a shame I went out like that, but hey, I got a second chance to life in some way, so it's fine, I guess.

But...during those final moments, besides wishing for a better life...

...

I...sort of wished I got to see Felys again for the last time.

Though, that wish got granted not too long after.

Resting his hands on the railing, Felys silently looks at the view below him.

It had been awhile since he last heard anything from [REDACTED]. The last thing he heard from him was that he was sick. After that? Nothing. Admittedly enough, Felys is worried about [REDACTED]'s well-being. Sometimes he finds himself thinking about [REDACTED], wondering how he is now.

Guess that was probably the last he heard of him.

With that last thought in mind, Felys' face grimaces. He doesn't like the possibility of [REDACTED] being dead, he really doesn't. But there's a high chance it's true, so what is he supposed to do about it?

First his parents, now [REDACTED].

Who else is he supposed to lose in his life?

Felys definitely feels like crying right now, but the tears just won't come out.

It just sort of hurts right now—

"Hey."

A voice suddenly calls, which made Felys jolt up in surprise. He quickly turns to look at the source of the voice, only to find a man with a halo hovering his head and a peculiar necklace, sitting on the railing beside him. He seems to be looking right back at him, a smile on his face. Oddly enough, he looks a lot like [REDACTED], but at the same time, Felys knows that isn't him.

"H-huh-?" Felys stammers, looking at the man beside him with wide eyes. "U-uh..." He really doesn't know what to say at this rate, only nervously waiting for the man to say something else. The man chuckles, before finally speaking up, "You looked lonely, so I thought I could fix that problem for you~"

He definitely has a personality that is drastically different from [REDACTED].

"O-oh...uh...thanks, I guess...?" Felys replies, before asking, "But...who are you, exactly?" The man thought about his answer for a bit, before grinning widely at the other man. "Hehe, why, I'm your God, of course!" That answer shocked Felys more than it should have.

"What...?!"

"Yeah! Your God—The One Who Transcends All! The one and only; Amazing Mightyyyy!!!!"

"E-eh?!?!?!?!?!"

It took a little bit to calm Felys down, but once he did calmed down, he could only nervously look up to the much more taller man standing before him right now. "Uh...so! You're really Amazing Mighty himself?" He asks, and Amazing Mighty crosses his arms pridefully. "Why yes~ The one and only!"

"Oh- oh shit- I didn't think that I'd meet a literal God—let alone The One Who Transcends All...!" Felys then quickly bows at Amazing Mighty, trying his best to showcase his respect. The God was taken aback by that, before chuckling. It's a little cute to see a citizen of his act like this. "Nah~ No need to bow! I'm all good as long as it's you."

Felys then rises up again, looking at Amazing Mighty with clear confusion in his eyes. "What?" Amazing Mighty smiles at him, both hands behind his back as he takes at least one step closer towards the human. "I'm fine. Thank you for your respect, though~ Mind if I accompany you here? I don't want a beloved citizen of mine to be lonely."

"...Sure. Why not? Thank you, sir."

"Ah...don't call me by honorifics! Be as casual with me as you'd like!"

"But you're-"

"No buts! I am your God, so you must obey my wantings!"

"Y-yes, Mighty!"

7. what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium? finally my favorite question 🥰 i'm always thrilled to see cephalopods, especially octopus! any mammals they have tend to be quite interesting. but the biggest thing is anything special that aquarium has. i went to the scripps aquarium on my work trip a couple of months ago i lost my everloving mind about the little penguins - there are only 5 other aquariums in the country that have them and i've been following the new zealand national aquarium online for years because of their little penguin exhibit. thankfully by this point i'd long since ditched all my coworkers so when i finally tore myself away from the penguins after 40 minutes i immediately walked into the seadragon feeding and sat there entranced for another 25 minutes. unforch, seadragons live in low light conditions lmao

i also got to see a cookie cutter shark specimen which i was so surprised and excited abt and i did stick my hand in the cleaner shrimp touch tank because they get to opt into interacting so it was rly fun! i was also thrilled to see mola mola at the monterey bay aquarium, and the shark tunnel at the toronto ripley's aquarium had me truly & completely losing my shit with excitement, i insisted on going through multiple times. anyway sorry that turned into a recitation of cool shit i've seen, i genuinely am excited to see everything at the aquarium and i love to spend hours in there reading the placard on every single display, i'm very lucky that i get to visit so many aquariums when work is flying me around! i love them and i'm going to visit an aquarium on my birthday again this year! however i am surprisingly reserved about touch pools? i'm happy to look but idk... i know they swap the creatures out regularly so none of them get too stressed but it still doesn't feel right to me to go poke the urchin when i get plenty from looking at it. cause can't you stare at this shit for eons?

Okay before I start I just want to say that I love you and I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve read Harmless. I literally just finished rereading it last week and I miss it already. BUT THEN I FOUND OUT YOU POSTED THE FIRST TWO CHAPTERS OF UNSOLVED AND I AM ALREADY ADDICTED!

Also FYI this is gonna be a long ask and I’m sorry 😬

But hear me out, okay. As soon as I read the first two chapters of unsolved I thought of this story. A couple years ago my mom and I had this ghost show craze and the things people claim to have gone through is insane (I’m not really sure whether I believe in ghosts and stuff or not, tbh) But anyway this one show (which I can’t remember the name of) did a segment on this graduate student who was renting an apartment from her professor at a discount rate sometime during the late 90s/early 2000s. She moves in and starts being followed and watched by a shadow person/poltergeist who does poltergeist shit like open cabinets, steal keys, bang on things, etc. Most notably though, it steals a whole block of cheese which she was using to make mac and cheese. She tears the kitchen apart to find it, knowing that she just had it on the counter beside her, but cannot find it. Weeks later she opens her utensil drawer and there’s the block of cheese, molded. (I don’t know if you’re looking for actual cases or making them up or a bit of both)

So anyway, I had some thoughts on how Bucky and his partner would potentially respond to this story (all of which is potentially very lame and cringy so I’m sorry in advance for that, too.)

Okay, so my thoughts are that Bucky asks what kind of cheese it was and the reader thinks ‘why the fuck does this matter?’ But she replies something like “idk, she’s a poor college student so probably velveeta or some shit.” He says “that shit doesn’t mold! It’s got enough preservatives in it to kill and mummify a horse!” and she’s like “well maybe it was some other cheese, then” already exasperated at the frivolous line of questioning. But he continues to be a little shit and says something like “maybe she didn’t look for it in the utensils drawer” and she responds, incredulously, with “she would have had to get a fucking fork at some point” and he says “maybe she got ’em from take out” and she’s like “she’s a poor grad student?!” And he’s like “it’s called living beyond your means. Maybe she didn’t care about her credit score.” And the reader is sure that she’s gonna have an aneurysm. Also I know he would steal cheese or some other food item from Sam or Clint or the reader later just to fuck with ‘em.

In honor of officially reaching the one week mark of my stay here in France, I will be rating all of the new foods I've tried while being here. (And this is no hate against my host mom, she's an amazing cook and I'm so grateful for everything she's done for me during my stay here :))

1.) Salmon - 3/10

Wrote on my forms that I hated seafood, but was served salmon on the first night. Honestly, it wasn't the worst thing ever. What WAS the worst thing ever, was the lemon-y cucumber concoction that it was served with. *shiver* I feel like I got the worst out of the way eating that meal first.

2.) Mushrooms - 6/10

I knew I didn't like them going in but I've been served them multiple times and honestly? Not terrible. They don't seem to have a huge flavor and everything I've eaten with them in it must have masked them pretty well. Most of the points subtracted here are for its weird texture.

3.) Cantaloupe - 4/10

My dad buys cantaloupe often but I've never liked it. My host mom has given it to me many times and I obviously eat it as to not be rude. I have to take a sip of water after every slice but despite how much I dislike it its definitely not the worst thing that could be served to me.

4.) Ham and cheese galette - 5/10

I've had two; one that was just ham and emmental cheese and one that had ham, cheese, mushroom, tomato, and probably other things. Both were eh. Wouldn't mind eating it again just because it could be worse.

5.) Whatever it was my host mom made for dinner two nights ago - -2/10

Let me set the scene. I walk into the dinning room and on the table there is... something. It is long, bright green, and spongey like a cake. It is hot and has chunks of what I believe was salmon. A mysterious liquid seeps out the bottom and onto the plate. It smells and tastes like a reheated microwave hotdog that has been sitting in an open package in the refrigerator for too long. The texture, as expected from the observation from before, is like a very moist sponge cake. I did not feel very good after dinner.

6.) Ratatouille- 6/10

Idk what that food critic was on in that movie, ratatouille is not that great lol. I'm starting to think I just don't like a lot of vegetables. Hmmm.....

7.) Tirimasu - 11/10

I LOVE TIRIMASU!!!!!! SOO GOOD!!!!

📝 - Story from your childhood.

Hmmmm ok how about this one: One time when I was maybe 7 or 8, my mom took my sister and I to a carnival. The carnival was held in a park that often flooded, because it was in low ground and next to a lake. It started POURING rain while we were there, so we left. But as my mom was driving away, a flash flood happened, and my mom's car stalled. I was only a kid so the water was up to my thighs, maybe even higher. Luckily, at that moment my mom's friend/boyfriend (i don't remember if he was her boyfriend yet at that point) just happened to show up. He helped my mom carry my sister & I to his car (which was parked just outside the flood water) and took us home. (Her friend's name was Chopper, btw. That's not important but I feel like it just sorta adds to the vibe of the story to know that lol). I don't remember what happened to my mom's car, I think she had it towed the next day maybe?

📅 - Favorite time of the year?

Probably like, mid to late October, when all the leaves start changing colors. It was SUPER pretty this year, there were a lot of really bright and vivid reds and oranges which are my favorites. And the weather was perfect, sunny and clear blue skies, which I feel like always makes the leaves look even prettier. I feel like there's just a special sort of energy in the air/feel like the vibes are just right around that time of year too.

📚 - Career goal you want?

To find a career that gives me lots of money for doing no work at all and never leaving my house 😃 Lol idk. All my career goals kinda came to a screeching halt 2 years ago when the combo of autistic burnout + depression + chronic illness made it impossible for me to keep my job. But even before that I didn't really have any idea what I wanted to do long term career wise. Right now I still really don't see any way of returning to a career for me. But who knows what the future will bring.

4. what’s an inside joke you have with your family or friends?

a little joke me and one of my besties do is every time there is text on an establishing shot that tells us where the scene is taking place, we say "ohhhh, That's where that is!" and i don't know why we have continued doing this for the better part of a decade, but we do it basically every time this happens. this is not something that is funny, but it is funny that we have continued to do this.

it was so long ago.... my bestie had a tumblr and a few fanfic writers that i really liked had tumblrs, and i don't know, i just figured what the hell. and now here we are!

6. what’s the best and worst part of being online/a creator?

specifically about being an online creator, probably the best is that it's a low stakes way to be creative and have people read my work! getting published (or even self-publishing) is such a hassle. i want to write and edit my work, and then just drop it for people to read right away! And because there's that immediacy of publishing, I don't have to feel an intense level of anxiety over a work being "perfect." i'm tempted to say that the worst part is knowing that other people are better liked and more popular than me, but that would still be an issue for me even if I was in traditional publishing. but the online aspect of this (seeing other people get lots of engagement on their accounts, seeing fics with hundreds of comments and bookmarks, seeing particular fics getting discussed as having fandom-wide importance) are really obvious, and it does feel embarrassing to be so jealous of works/creators that are, in the larger scheme of culture, about as unknown as my own work

11. what do you consider to be romance?

At this point in my life, I really do want to be obsessed with someone who is obsessed with me. I am pretty okay spending time on my own, I entertain myself really well, but it means a lot to me when somebody wants to, like, hear about the stuff I did while I was alone. Like "yes, tell me about the movie you watched," or "what color did you paint your nails?" or whatever. I'm not a very interesting person, so I'd like to feel interesting to someone! I also like it when someone wants to touch me! getting to watch people go around with their dogs and kids! also brunch!! and when you do things during the day, it means you can relax at night time! and when the weather is nice, i do like actually being outside during the day and getting some sun (the heat has just been so bad lately, I can't remember what that was like haha)

A coworker of mine is writing a script, and he said my notes on the script were both really helpful and also made him laugh a lot, and that made me feel really good!

How do you feel right now? Drained. I was planning on going to I Heart Mac & Cheese for lunch after the animal shelter because they're doing this thing where they'll give 20% of the cost of your order as a shelter donation, but I could already tell this morning that my energy levels probably wouldn't allow for it, and…yep. I've got a bit of a pre-migraine thing going on and I just want to sit around and do nothing. I'm also just feeling a bit socially burned out, like I need some time to just exist by myself.

Are you sleepy? Yeah.

Have you ever cut yourself? A long time ago.

Who do you dream about most? People at the animal shelter, past friends and partners, my family.

What do you want more than anything right now? For my apartment voucher to come through so I can finally move into my own place. It was supposed to happen around the beginning of June, but I'm not exactly clear as to what happened. Someone somewhere released the vouchers before it was time or they were supposed to go somewhere else or…idk; like I said, I'm not really sure, so I'm just in waiting mode for the moment. It was such a huge lift up and let down, though. Like, I had about two days of feeling super excited about things moving forward, and then…ugh. I feel bad for the guy at the resource center because he had to call like 150 people and tell them, sorry, shit's fvcked. That had to be a terrible time.

Do you have something you want to say, but never could? Nothing serious. That's just social interaction in general for me. With people I know well (such as my dad, my therapist, and to some extent my mom), it's fine. I can talk their ears off. But when it comes to people at the animal shelter, I feel like a bumbling fool.

Where is your favourite place to be? Home, the animal shelter, and out in nature.

What makes you happy? Volunteering, hiking/camping, rainy or snowy weather, the holiday season, eating my favorite foods, listening to an interesting podcast/video, accomplishing things I never thought I could, making art, a good cup of coffee, updating my autumn Tumblr, driving when there's little to no traffic, realizing some things no longer bother me as much as they once did, etc.

Who makes you happy? My mom + dad, best friend, therapist, my favorite cashiers/greeters at the grocery store…oh, and my cats, ofc.

When are you happiest? When I'm around people I love + doing the things I love. When I feel a sense of purpose or belonging. In nature.

What is the funniest thing you have ever done? I have no idea.

What is the funniest movie you have ever seen? Idk.

What candy/drink makes you most hyper? Nothing really makes me hyper.

Do you talk to yourself? Yeah.

Do you have to sing those catchy jingles on TV commercials every time? Sometimes they just get stuck in my head and…yeah. It's either sing or go crazy.

Do you have more than 5 celebrity crushes? I don't have any celebrity crushes.

Do you find joy in making other people mad? No.

Do you answer the phone by saying anything besides ‘Hello’? Maybe sometimes, but I typically just say "hello."

Do you get mad easily? More like annoyed/frustrated, but even that's not as bad as it used to be.

Do you get jealous often? I don't really have anything to be jealous over. Envy, though…I do feel that way from time to time, but I just try to redirect and focus on my own life.

Are there any people that often make you mad? Not mad. Just disappointed. ;D

Do your friends comfort you when you’re angry? No. But I don't go to him when I'm angry. He probably would, though. Or at least try to.

Do you like to cause drama? No. Sometimes there's drama or gossip at the animal shelter and I'm just like…wow, that's wild. I try to refrain from engaging and just offer simple platitudes. I mean, sometimes it does liven things up a little (there is this diehard part of me that lives for the drama, unfortunately), but other times it's just exhausting. Like, I just want to be around nice people and help animals, but as it turns out...it's not that simple. People are people wherever you go!

Where did you go today? Animal shelter.

How late do you usually sleep in? I rarely ever sleep in. Even on my days off, I'm typically up by ~6:00am.

Do you like traveling? No. I like to BE places, and there are definitely destinations I would like to visit, but traveling…yuck.

Are more of your friends girls or guys? I have one guy friend.

What is your favourite song right now? I don't really have a single favorite… One day, I'll compile some sort of list.

What do you want to do right now? Get in bed and listen to YT, but I think I'm going to vacuum the living room/dining room first.

a while ago I went to my coworkers house and we made dinner together and I made a Greek salad (never had it before then) and it was so fucking good. Idk why but the feta cheese wasn’t crumbly like it normally is for cheese in brine but the specific brand we used was like really smooth, it was basically like a sauce or dressing for the salad. Anyway I made it again today for lunch, (except I don’t have any cilantro which we added last time which was really good), and it’s good but I hate how much effort it takes. Like this is all I’m eating for lunch bc it just takes so long to make it’s like making a full meal. And tbh it has basically everything in it like feta cheese is protein probably, couscous is carbs, and there’s like vegetables. So maybe it’s actually fine. Anyway it’s pretty good but my tomatoes are pretty old so they’re not great and I miss the smooth cheese
