Some People Shouldn't Be Allowed to Drive!

So thanks to some idiot who apparently doesn't know how to park a vehicle or back up without causing damage, I now have a large dent on the back-left fender of my car. And, of course, the jackass couldn't be bothered to leave their information or even an apology. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the moron doesn't have insurance, or if their premium is high because of other accidents.

biking on a very narrow traffic-jammed road without a bike lane. car moves into the opposing lane to try and pass me despite the fact that there's standstill traffic 100 feet ahead. doesn't manage to pass me in time and is now stuck in the wrong lane because there's traffic stacked up to their right. I didn't see what became of them bc I was able to bypass the car traffic and zip ahead, but I know they learned a lesson today.

A lot of you underestimate how prevalent British bias is not only in F1 but across sports generally, and even in other industries.

Max saying he has the wrong passport in the paddock is an accurate statement. Do you think he, Seb, or Michael would've been half as vilified by the British media if they had a British passport instead? Would Fernando? Do you think Yuki would get half as much shit about his radio "conduct" if he was British? Because it's the British commentators who consistently have issues with it, and say shit like it's "unbecoming" for a driver to speak that way, ignoring that 1 it's not his first language and 2 IT WAS ENGLISH PEOPLE HE LEARNT THAT LANGUAGE FROM. Sometimes people misspeak, but Yuki has always taken accountability and apologised if he has and if he caused harm. Martin Brundle did not get nearly as much backlash from the media when he misspoke and called an Asian driver a slur while commentating. He also never apologised for it.

Alex, one of the four Brits on the grid but who drives under the Thai flag, has said that the commentators only call him British born when he does well. He was completely excluded from the Silverstone publicity about the home crowd heroes, whereas George, Lewis & Lando were heralded, not only on race weekend, but for weeks leading up to it.

Alex's statement also reminded me of this Richard Harris quote, "When I'm in trouble, I'm an Irishman. When I turn in a good performance, I'm an Englishman." Genuinely, if I took a shot every time a British organisation/person claimed a talented Irish person was actually a Brit, I'd have died from alcohol poisoning years ago.

Hell, I see George wearing the poppy pin this weekend in the lead up to remembrance Sunday. Do you know the amount of shit James McClean gets every year because he refuses to wear one? And he has very valid reasons for choosing not to wear it, yet he's torn to shreds every year by not only random people on the Internet or on the streets but by commentators and the media too.

Because of how this sport became mainstream and because no one challenged Bernie Eccleston's monopoly on broadcasting rights back in the day (people were given the opportunity to buy a share of the broadcasting rights; the idiots said no), this sport has prioritised the British voice/perspective for decades. I know the other broadcasts are just as biased for their home team/drivers, but the British one is the biggest one, as it's the main broadcast for better and more often for the worst. It's the broadcast with the most reach and influence. Their bias has to be challenged eventually if this sport ever hopes to properly expand and grow. The British bias is so difficult to miss once you start noticing it.

It is SO satisfying watching assholes get pulled over for being reckless idiots.

A lot of my route home from karate has 3 lanes - one each direction and the center left-turning-only lane.

Well tonight was kind of a gross night, misty and wet, poor visibility. People were going maybe a tad slower than usual but still not under the speed limit so really not THAT slow. This guy behind me was apparently having NONE of that and decided that the center lane was actually there for him to pass people in. So he pulls around me. And then I continue to see him pulling around people, just leal-frogging his way up the line.

Eventually he's way ahead of me but the road dips down and then back up and I can see him going around people on the up and then 🤌 justice. The lights come on and I'm cackling as I get to my turn.

That guy's lucky he got pulled over and didn't slam right into another car trying to actually use the center lane.

Karma's a bitch.

I remember a post fp1/2 session in singapore where they were talking about daniel getting replaced and one of reporters/pundits was like "yeah but these next 6 races, most of them are some of his best tracks" and then I was like pfft they're not swapping him out why are we talking about this at all. but now it makes me sick that they didn't even give him some of his best performing track as a chance, even though horner specifically said "these next couple tracks are checos best and we look forward to seeing him find his performance again there" when checo was confirmed to stay post summer break. they gave checo the chance to shine at his best tracks, but not daniel. which funnily enough, checo finished p8 p8 dnf and p10 in those four tracks since then. what a joke.

yeah. there's some really bitter moments that cross my head at random points. this definitely being one of them. we're moving onto tracks now where daniel has consistently performed very very well.....and that vcarb is getting fresh upgrades that he would have assisted in the development with. the what if? will always linger. we'll never get that. to experience that. it was just. taken. grasped out of our hands, but most importantly his. the firing isn't justified. it can not be justified, at all. and i actually don't believe this, but hey we're all throwing out inane takes and seeing what sticks to the wall and spreads like mould, but maybe that's what red bull feared. they can't get rid of checo, and if daniel put down some really solid results, especially in the cota, brazil, mexico run, they also can't really justify firing daniel. so they did it before he had a chance to say, see, look.

I was looking the ratings of the other drivers in those media you posted and in Total Motosport they said this about carlos:

"Carlos Sainz: 6/10

Qualifying: 5th - Race: 4th

Sainz did his best to slow down the McLarens but didn't really have much effect, that was the story of the Spaniard's weekend really"

Ah, way to open a can of worms, Anon. It's been rough seeing some of the crazy stuff people have been saying on Twitter about Carlos helping Charles win in Monza. I don't want to comment too much on it, other than.. seriously???

I did just watch P1 with Matt and Tommy where Matt said, "A driver in literally the same team didn't make the one stop work, even though he pitted 4 laps later. So that was all down to Charles the way he drove those tyres."

Both gave Carlos an 8 and Charles a 10 (with Tommy saying he would give an 11 if he could.) and there was a comment about how both Carlos and Lance helped slow Piastri down - one of them intentional, but Tommy also remarked on Sainz how the gap to his teammate on the same (maybe even better) strategy was a bit disappointing.

Here is a lovely quote from one of the Ferrari drivers after Monza Quali on Saturday:

"I expect this to be a tyre management race, so whoever does the best job there, should come out on top."
