National frappe day In light of #NationalFrappeDay, I decided to go to @Starbucks and get a #Frappuccino....haha #PumpkinSpice at that! Thanks, Mike! #Frappe and Frappuccinos are such similar drinks I always get confused. So I had to do a little digging to understand the actual differences between them. Do you know what they are? A frappe, traditionally, is basically instant #coffee with water and sugar blended (in a shaker or blender) to make it frothy, and add milk and ice cubes to it. The modern version, like the one from the golden arch fast food chain, is basically everything blended together: coffee, water, milk, sugar, syrups, and maybe even alcohol to spike it up a bit! A Frappuccino is milkshake and cappuccino blended together with coffee and other flavoured syrups. It was trademarked originally by The Coffee Connection, in Boston, which was later purchased by the popular green mermaid brand we all love. Did you get a Frappé today?
