there is absolutely an interesting debate to be had about redemption arcs and morality and who "deserves" it and who doesnt but in the end. its a fictional character. what does it even fuckjng matter honestly.

#im not here to debate morality im here to throw exactly that aside to be disgustingly thirsty over villains #also not to like. defend whatever the fjck they did with gaius bc thats a debate i stay FAR away from. but #i wish more redemption arcs in fiction accepted that realistically. a lot of characters wouldnt gain forgiveness from everyone #no matter how many good things they do #i wish more 'redemption' arcs weren't about ignoring past crimes bc 'theyre good now'. becoming a better person. unlearning bad things.#it takes time?#not so much redemption as just. doing good deeds now #theyve done too much harm to truly be redeemed but they can still choose to help the good guys. idk #obviously redemption arcs really depend on the genre & the character #but yeah thats just what i think #idc what others do. i might shit on some concerningly bad readings of media i like to my friends but honestly #if you want to fuck that war criminal. good for you #(me pointing at myself in a mirror trying to pretend like my comments in the discord havent been unhinged lately)
