LOADING INFORMATION ON JAWBREAKER’S LEAD VOCAL, LEAD DANCE JANG JINKYONG…
IDOL DETAILS
STAGENAME: Isa CURRENT AGE: 24 DEBUT AGE: 22 TRAINEE SINCE AGE: 17 COMPANY: KJH ETC: This member is involved with lyric writing and producing
IDOL IMAGE
her first taste of public attention came with going on micky mouse club house a trainee, shortly before her debut. it had been the first glimpse into her, it had been the perfect that to test the waters with her. quickly earning a title as a brainy idol on the show, doing best in quizzes and test like games. being able to boost about her self-taught language skills and studying habits. coming off the show, she was viewed a studious idol. ( and still is. ) unpon debuting, during interviews and chats, studying was something she mentioned. in fan taken photos, you can see books in her hands even out of school. or catch her studying in the bts clips of anything jaw breaker related. mainly mentioning her goal of wanting to learn as many languages as possible and wanting to go to college at some point. if the group has a v-live session or she is allowed to a solo one, jinkyong will try and answer’s fans questions about their on home-work. it’s not something that is widely public knowledge but can find post about it on fan communities. mainly her fan base does as a small promotion tactic for her and it’s earned a positive response from non-fans who causally view the post.
while she doesn’t have the image of a ‘happy virus’ fans do find some of her small quirks cute. one mainly being her love for the manga one piece, she’s an avid fan and if asked about, jinkyong could go on and on about it. some find it charming because it’s a moment where jinkyong completely lets go of insecurities and is extremely confident. often, as her signatures for fans she’ll write down a quote she likes and so far no quote as been the same. it’s allow’s others to find her endearing, even if she isn’t the member they look to first. for those like to see an idol slowly opening up and becoming confident, watching them grow. jinkyong was the idol for them. the company has pushed the fact that she’s one of the self-producing girls on the team, studying from the ground up and working on each album bit by bit. they often push her to show this to fans, doing v-lives in which she talks about song-making and production. they’ve noticed that once she finds a topic she can talk at length about, she opens ups and the fans love it even more.
and in her years as a debuted idol, this hasn’t changed. with their ‘no’ comeback and the choice to chop of her hair brought positive attention. after they switched to a girl crush sound, jinkyong had been noticed more but it wasn’t until the elegance and maturity of no that they had a concept for that stayed with the fans. slowly but surely taking on the title of girl crush herself, now her quietness is charming. the way she takes care of the members by default.  ( if you look closely in the v-lives, she’s the member to silently re-fill everyone’s drinks or give them food. ) kjh quickly jumped on this, a cool and level headed member. one who simply does. ( even going as far to change up her personal fashion for instagram pictures, more mature, more elegant than previous. ) by her fourth year, they’d effectively branded her as a chic, cool. an unnie you’d love to hang out with, a woman who gets things done. on camera, she’s not allowed to show her self-doubts, not anymore. she’s not longer a one year rookie, by now everyone expects even more growth and jinkyong has to give it. she’ll be smart, slightly aloof but always aware. her smile will be charming and her eyes full of confidence and promise. someone who’s able to pull in fans once they discover her passion, once they see the smile that kjh chooses when to come out and stay hidden.
and once the camera’s off, she’s simply jinkyong, a woman who’s striving to not be forgotten in the ever changing idol landscape. throwing every worry she has in the back of mind, putting it off for another because today, she has to be in front of the camera and she has to sell herself, she wants to get people interested and an idol who’s unsure of herself in fourth year, that’s not something people want to buy.
IDOL HISTORY
her parents couldn’t wrap their heads around the idea of an ‘idols’. even when her older cousin finally made their debut, jinkyong could remember her parents saying it was a bad idea. a stable job that would allow them to live happily is what they wanted. it was expected that jinkyong would follow them, become a teacher or get a well paying desk job.( or she could even dare to dream high and study medicine.) they had taught her that it was best if she played it safe.
and jinkyong? she did just as she was told. there hadn’t been a reason to not listen to her parents. plus, she did like studying, pouring over books. she was the model student, the model daughter. everything they wanted. until middle school at least. jinkyong was considered ( and considered ) herself painfully shy, she only had a few friends. the small group that reached out to her. it was there she found her best friend and it had been her best friend that convinced her join the school’s dance club. even if it was just to meet new people, she should try it.
and she did. after her parents approval of course. they did. they hadn’t seen it as a bad thing.(  not at first. ) she was a top student, her grades were always stellar and jinkyong was good for her words. if she promised she would keep up with her school work. they had complete faith in her. they saw it as a good why to socialize ( even her parent realized their daughter wasn’t a social butterfly. ) it had been with those thoughts that they signed off on it. no one expected the out-come, jinkyong had fallen in love with performing. even if she hadn’t been on the level of her best friend who was amazing. it just felt good, good to go out with her friends and busk. it had felt good to see people cheering her on and even better when they saw improvement. she wasn’t the best but she had been working towards it.
she still hadn’t dared to ask her parents about becoming an idol. but after a dance team event, her family was approached by a woman. offering jinkyong the role as a trainee at her company.  then came the begging, the constant begging. ( “mom..dad..they wanted me! please.” ) finally, she got a yes but wouldn’t just come easy. now they were even stricter about her grades and where they expected her stay on top of her grades. she wasn’t allowed to backslide. ( and they wanted her to get a taste, to see that being an idol wasn’t the right idea at all. )
free time with her friends almost came to an end. ( which she almost felt horrible for but they encouraged her. ) instead she threw herself into her company, coming home late, forcing herself to finish her home work and forcing herself to go to school and stay awake in classes. jinkyong had been determined to work hard, it would pay off. it had to pay off. it did pay off.
( she thought it did. )
they did busking, any trainee cover videos that had been uploaded, had her in them. it looked promising. after a year of training and putting pressure on herself, she would debut. she had been selected for the debut group. a group that would debut with a bubbly and lively image. then, in the final hour, just at the members where being finalized. jinkyong was cut. ( how? why.? but she was only given vague reasons as to why she didn’t make. )
there still hadn’t been any thoughts of giving up.  work harder, train more, do anything to become a stand out trainee. there was the chance that her dancing wasn’t up to par, maybe her singing or rapping needed work more work. it would be hard to find another company. she should just stay and try again for another group debut. but when her parents saw that a new group was coming out and jinkyong wasn’t in it, they jumped at the chance to pull her out. it was as if they had been waiting for this moment. a chance that would prove them right when it came to her career.
( and she hated the fact that they said they were doing it for it. that they were only thinking about her. that they knew what would be best for her and following her dreams wasn’t apart of it. )
then they would pile on how much they did for her. how they only wanted her to succeed in life. the guilt ate her, was she being over dramatic? was rapping, dancing, and just performing on stage that bad? did really have no idea of how much her parents were trying to save her the trouble? would she just really throw away all of her hard work at school until this point?
( but when it came to the question of she would be happy with the desk job, she wasn’t. she wouldn’t be happy until she truly tried to achieve what she really wanted. )
a year off. a year off from any official training. but un-official had become one of her main goal. going back to her dance club, working part-time to earn money for vocal and rap lessons. ( and a new route. suggested by one her friends. ) if she couldn’t perform, she could learn to create music, it’d still be great to see someone performing songs written by her. it was a great idea, one that she chased with workshops and studied the art by herself. but after a year her want, the need to stand on stage was still there.
it was the loudest fight she had ever had with her parents. the only argument that she dared to start. it was as if they didn’t know who was standing in front of them. they had no idea where the passion came from. and after a month of a cold war in the home, she had been allowed to go on auditions. her secret training had paid off, she finally found a home in kjh. then the warnings came. from the company, there would be no debut coming soon. it would be hard, they would push her to her limits, it could be heaven or most likely hell.  ( and from her parents, try again but you’ll fail, what happened the first time. foolish. maybe a second failure would help her learn. ) this time, no freedom, no fun. training and school. they wouldn’t make it easy for her.
( but jinkyong was more happy to give it up if it meant a second chance at debuting. )
she knew she would be in for the long haul, the company so far had no plans for a new girl group. and trainees could be seen coming and going, it was risky but it would have to be worth it. she showed her passion. they would be able to see that she was worth it soon enough. it was still an eye-opening experience. maybe training had been easier at her old company, maybe they didn’t push them hard enough. but kjh had given her a slight insight as to why her old company might have pulled her out for another member. she lacked charm. she had skill, there was talent but she wasn’t charming. it was something she could see when comparing herself to other trainees. ( or maybe it was in her but this was the only explanation she had. ) and she did all she could to stand out, sharping the skills they told her to focus on, showing them her interest in not just singing but creating music as well.
this time, her parents were impatient. after a two years and no debut, her parents had had been ready to pull her out again. ( they didn’t see the leaps in progress. how proud she had been once she received just the tiniest of praise from her coaches. they didn’t see they way her eyes lit up at the thought of finally debuting. and she was sure they didn’t care. they hadn’t seen how she managed to walk with a little more confidence everyday. ) there was only one difference, she wasn’t a child they could pull out whenever they wanted now.
( it was also here that her relationship with her parents truly broke.  just when would she be that amazing idol she claimed she would be?  it was with that last line she simply stopped caring.  she couldn’t let herself carry any guilt. she couldn’t allowed their doubts to become her self-doubts. it ended with her holding on her dreams. that over finding that perfect desk job they wanted. it ended almost everything. )
fast forward and now jinkyong is the model trainee. coming early and leaving late. ( which has landed  with no school ( only self-study. ) she has more time to spend pouring over lessons, more time ask her coaches to review the songs she’s made. taking down notes of every little thing that is told her to. and it pays off. finally a group is put together. trainee’s she’s known since joined the company.marketed as self-producing idols. ( as much as the company will allow, at least. )
but it’s enough for jinkyong, enough for jinkyong to sign away her life and give her company everything.
june marks the debut of jawbreaker, the debut of isa.
iron, strong willed. she’s put as much thought into her name as she did into everything in her life.
debuting feels like a dream, almost like it’s not real. even at their debut stage, there’s a fear she’ll be told it’s all a joke. old insecurity makes way for new ones. just when it felt like she found her footing, she was a little lost again. their first two concepts were fun, she enjoyed them but it felt like she didn’t fit. ( she found herself envious of her members that she felt easily fit their concepts. they were could pull it off. ) but she felt awkward. it wasn’t until their fourth concept that she felt like fit her. ( and she loved their debut, but she liked it better on the others. )
it was also around the time she found her footing with the girls. they weren’t suddenly together but being in a group was a different ball park. she often felt odd out of place, at first she was painfully shy. retreating into her books and self-study during her personal time. loud when they were in front of fans and quiet when it was just them. that painful shyness had come back full force. coupled with the realization that idol life was just as tough and tiring as they made it seem. ( at least her under company, debut then comeback after comeback. constant contact with fans, in that first year and half, personal time and privacy wouldn’t be heard of. )
but it pays off, they hit the ground running and they don’t stop. kjh carefully crafted a role for her, allowing her to grew into the idol she wanted to be. she’s been able to fit herself in with her group-mates a little better. being kind and silent, behind the screen and even more so on. and now that they’re in fourth year, a brand new pressure has presented it’s self to her.
carefully balancing, isa. a self-producing idol, a member who loves the others and constantly finding a new way to be comfortable in front of fans. she’s whatever the company wants to bold her into. then jinkyong, now a woman who’s borderline obsessive about training and improving, who has to push down the envy she feels when it comes to her members. simply because she wants to carve out her future just like them. becoming a house hold name is her goal. and it feels like there is a limited amount of time to make it. a woman wanting her musical creations to be taken a bit more seriously, ( a woman waiting for her parents to see that she’s good enough. that this choice was right. to finally feel proud of her. ) the pressure is on like never before and it’s not something she can run from. ( and wouldn’t want too. ) it’s the desperation to shine as brightly as she can that drives her and the fear of failing that causes her to always have a slight uneasiness inside.
strong willed, stubborn  and passionate. top class idol. producer. entertainer. all titles she wants to see related to her.
isa.
it was never going to be easy and she was never going to give up.

LOADING INFORMATION ON JAWBREAKER’S LEAD VOCAL, LEAD DANCE HAN MINJU...
IDOL DETAILS
STAGENAME: Siena CURRENT AGE: 22 DEBUT AGE: 17 TRAINEE SINCE AGE: 13 COMPANY: KJH SECONDARY SKILL: Acting
IDOL PROFILE
NICKNAME(S): Sina, given by her fans as a simple shortening of her stage name; Baby Giraffe, given by her family and soon spread among her members and fans, one would think it’s because she supposedly has a long neck but Minju was very tall when she was still a kid and her legs stood out, plus she was very clumsy and got hurt easily; Crying Baby, she cries easily and that’s known to the fans since the day they had their first win with La Ta Ta. INSPIRATION: As for people that she looks up to and aspires to become like them, Minju has in mind a couple of female soloists and groups, like Boa, Lee Hyori and Nixie. They were overall important figures that she had in mind before starting her training and even after when she became a trainee. SPECIAL TALENTS:
Sports: surprisingly, despite her usual clumsy behavior, Minju is very good at sports and events such as ISAC are meant to show that off. She can do archery decently and she has strong legs proper for running fast.
Ice skating: did for a very short while when she was a kid and wanted to become a figure skater. It has been years since she properly practiced but she can still pull a few decent movements.
Tongue twisters: while rapping is not her specialty (not even by far), during her training period Minju was told to practice tongue twisters to be able to improve her pronunciation and her breathing. After debuting, it became something she’d use on variety and radio shows.
NOTABLE FACTS:
Was a student at Hanlim Multi Art School from 2011 to 2014.
Has an older sister who also auditioned to Midas, but differently from Minju, her sister had success in her audition.
Started acting in the webdrama ‘Twenty Years Old’.
Despite all the lack of promotion for HER.oine, Singularity still tried to put Minju in a couple of dramas and fans complained saying she was being selfish for thinking about her career only.
IDOL GOALS
SHORT-TERM GOALS:
After almost losing this, Minju came to the realization that perhaps she’d miss this career more than she originally anticipated so, as cheesy as it may sound, she wants to make better use of the time she has in her group. Since she was highly criticized for her lack of enthusiasm in the ending years of HER.oine, she wants to prove those comments wrong by showing how invested she is in this, mainly by working in group related schedules and perfecting her performances and stage presence.
LONG-TERM GOALS:
Minju is, in some ways, pretty involved with acting and despite her bad start with it, she truly enjoys that aspect of her career and wishes to move into acting as something serious in the future if given the opportunity by KJH. But acting is not the only way she wants to use to keep herself in the industry and if she’s being true to herself, some wishful thoughts towards a solo career in music also popped up during some occasions.
IDOL IMAGE
She’s seventeen when she debuts, and she’s trilled and nervous and she feels like she’ll throw up as soon as she steps on the stage for their first performance as HER.oine.
She doesn’t and things end perfectly from her part. She’s rushing with adrenaline and pure joy and tears. She finally made it to debut despite of everything. After their debut stage, Minju became addicted to the feeling, of being up there in the spotlights with people cheering and screaming and showing their smiles and singing with them. She’d deal with everything that came with the job if that meant she’d be able to stand on the stage again.
In the beginning, the image they started selling was of a big-eyed, soft featured little sister. She’s young and innocent and that kind of image works well in contrast with her charismatic persona on stage. Singularity may not have done a good job in many things during the time Jawbreaker was still HER.oine but marketing Siena as their little girl with enchanting presence worked well during the four comebacks they had under that name.
Siena is not sweet nor has a stunningly beautiful image, she doesn’t look like a princess who came out from a fairytale and doesn’t speak sweetly or stumble over her words. She’s charming and smiles easily, she also has a funny laugh that is simply contagious. She’s not blunt. She knows her place, knows she must be perfect if she wants people to like her, but the younger child syndrome hits her from time to time and it works because people think it’s adorable. They buy this persona, the easy-going girl who looks wild when she’s performing but when she’s out of it, she’s just a regular-pretty-girl-who-smiles-at-everyone.
She has been acting for a while, but no one really notices. She acts when she’s having a bad day but must keep up with schedules and practice. She acts when she spends the day dieting and she’s starving, but she still says she’s fine. So, when she starts acting professionally, she tries to be extra careful. Siena must fit in the molds, she can’t rush herself, she must be composed and be elegant. She’s not chic, she doesn’t know how to act like that, and a silly smile will often popup in her face because being idol-Siena is much easier than being actress-Siena. That Siena is closer to whom Minju really is even though the real her lives under layers and layers of makeup and fancy-looking clothes. Her fans are happy to see her engage in new projects even if they aren’t necessarily good, some netizens just don’t buy it and say she wants to divert from her original path. The negativity didn’t stop Singularity from trying and suddenly, there she was again.
In KJH nothing much changes. She works with the carefree type of personality. Her fans like it and as far as she knows, what makes them happy, makes the company happy. Things are slightly different about her concept though, she’s nearing her 24ndbirthday in Korea and she wants to show that despite starting very young, she’s now a grown woman, and KJH seems okay to accept that because it will also help to establish a more solid image for their group. They are all grown women now and Siena wants to show them for what they are here for.
IDOL HISTORY
There is not one extraordinary plan. Minju worked with bigger events, big expectations and want to be too many things all at once. From teacher to veterinarian, a professional ice skater or even an artistic gymnast, she thought about following her mother’s career as a radio producer or become a lawyer like her father. Every other week she’d have things figured out and solved in her head, problems that would never happen under her watchful eyes, every other week she’d be something different. At the little age of thirteen she decided she wanted to be a singer and the difference that time was that the idea stuck with her for a long time.
The story of how her parents met remained a mystery in parts because it would slightly change every time any of the kids asked them how it happened. Her mother’s passion for music was evident and her father always looked at her in awe whenever she played some instrument or sang the chorus of a song she dearly appreciated. The three siblings would plan pranks and play for the whole day and in the end, the one thing that worked to sooth them to sleep were the couple of minutes of lullabies or stories told by the grownups.
She didn’t think of her life as boring but perhaps it could look like it for some people.
They grew up listening to music, given their mother’s background with the whole thing. Minju remembered how they tried to teach her music theory when she was younger and how excited she became when she got into class and realized she already knew some of that stuff. Her mother was the one teaching her guitar and sometimes, when she could, she’d sneak Minju into the studio where she worked after weeks of insistence from Minju’s side.
She honestly loved it. She loved music and loved singing and dancing with her father and despite already having a foot in the industry due to her mother’s connections, she didn’t think much about it until her sister mentioned she’d be trying to audition for Midas later that year. In the meantime, she weighted her thoughts. Be an idol was such an appealing idea, but she heard the discussions between her sister and their parents, and her mother specially, didn’t sound very pleased with the idea. Was only when she watched Boa performing on television that she made up her mind and perhaps it could be the aftereffects of the explosions and choreography, but she decided then that she’d be just like her role model. Her mother’s worries could only be normal, after all, she was their mother, so Minju decided to not worry with her worries.
She wasn’t as well prepared as her sister, obviously. Her sister was preparing for this fated day for months while Minju made her mind about it just a couple of weeks prior to the audition. In the end her sister was more successful than her in the attempt to be scouted and Minju felt the mix of happiness but also bitterness swirling inside of her. She remined herself that she couldn’t live out of raw expectations of good and great when she did nothing to deserve it, it didn’t mean the sour feeling simply faded away.
A couple of weeks later when the auditions for Singularity opened, Minju was once again on the game, this time by herself, relatively less confident of a positive response but more well prepared for what was about to come. It happened that since she had low expectations, all the results seem to be better than the expected and when they released the results and she saw she made it in, she was so happy she cried on the spot.
For months she lived just on the adrenaline of being accepted into a company. She trained hard and did all that was asked to her. She tried her best and gave her all, then things started getting lonely and being pushed for longer hours and eating less demanded so much more effort from her, but she refused to give up even though the thought did go through her head more than once after eight months of training.
Singularity wasn’t a company that she necessarily saw herself connect with. She didn’t feel like she had freedom to work herself in the best way, but when they started wanting to push her into acting training all together with the remaining classes she had to take, she started thinking that perhaps they had great plans for her.
When she was about to complete four years in the company, the news of a new girl group under their label were released and she was so excitedly tired when she told her parents that she was one of the trainees chosen to be part of the group.
HER.oine debuted and once again Minju started living under the adrenaline of the following months. And then they went on a hiatus and she became demotivated. The following comebacks were made based in the same formula. A preparation for the next comeback and then she’d be in high spirits while they were able to perform and then she’d be back to an unmotivated state because Singularity was uncapable of promoting them right.
She loved performing and loved being on the stage and that’s probably the main reason why she kept going and endured the entire situation. Because she wanted to give her best while singing to their two songs. She expected more and better of their debut and when she thought things couldn’t turn out sourer, Singularity decided to push her into webdramas that only created conflict among HER.oine’s fans and gave Minju a spot as selfish and greedy for neglecting the girls and having a very premature debut as an actress.
She almost didn’t sign up with KJH when they came from the skies and saved HER.oine from imminent disbandment after the fall of Singularity. Her members were the ones influencing in her decision and in the end, she was won by the pure pressure and insistence of her band mates to sign with them. She almost gave up not because she didn’t like doing it even though idol life was never easy to begin with, but she was so addicted to the feeling of being able to perform and receive the love from the fans that she didn’t mind that the system was a mess and sickening.
She doesn’t mind that they are in the bottom because she never truly felt like they were that high anyways. They have people expecting things from them. KJH wanting to know if they were a good investment, their fans who are probably looking for better management, the members wanting to know if this will work because that’s what she asks herself every day. There are a couple of life trials that she doesn’t know how to deal with, but she tries. Sometimes she gets tired of trying but she keeps going because, in her head, at some point, this will reveal to be worthy of the struggle.

I saw Yujin last night on broadcast and wow...isn’t she so impressive?? She danced that popular Havanna dance song...and...I know I’m a Swee-T but....isn’t she the queen of the Havanna dance? In my opinion, I think no other girl group member can do it better ㅋㅋㅋ
She’s also been appearing on Dancing9, did anyone else see the first episode? Ah...my fangirl heart is so happy now that she’s under a company that’s willing to promote her....I really think she’s shining there, even if she’s among other great industry dancers~~
I really like this mature image that KJH is having her show off. It’s so much more refreshing than the sweet angel thing that Singularity was doing. Didn’t it not match their concept at all?? Anyway, please support Jawbreaker and Yujin ♡
POST RESPONSE | [ + 206 ] [ - 21 ]
1. [ ㅇㅇ ] This segment randomly came on when I was watching clips on my computer instead of studying...ah...she’s really mesmerizing to look at....or am I just saying that to pretend I couldn’t focus on my homework? 히히 2. [ 우유진 ] I’m also a Sweet-T, but am I the only one who misses her old image? TT It really felt more genuine and special to me...I keep wondering where my sweet Yujinnie went to? Now she’s just girl crush all the time...ah...please come back Yujin, I don’t want to leave the fandom TT TT 3. [ ㅇㅇ ] I’ll admit that she was good, but doesn’t this post just sound like some Swee-T troll trying to say that these Jawbreaker kids are better than all the other girl groups again? Isn’t everyone sick of it already? Other girl groups have talented dancers too~~     -- And you just prove our point when every time we talk nicely about Jawbreaker all these other groups roach-fans come out and get jealous~~~~~

food goddess (식신) : despite having a small body, sohee has a big appetite and doesn’t gain weight easily, in which why fans call her food goddess.
INSPIRATION: despite always being interested in dancing, sohee had never thought of becoming an idol until she was scouted at the age of fourteen. at first she only became a trainee to run away from her mother’s high expectations at home, but when she saw vixen performing on tv, they managed to inspire sohee to become like them one day. SPECIAL TALENTS:
dancing genius : besides her ability to do a freestyle dance on the spot, sohee can also repeat a choreography almost accurately after seeing it for the first time.
flexibility : sohee started dancing with ballet at the age of four, so she has a pretty flexible body and is able to do tumbling and splits very well.
aegyo queen : due to her baby face and sweetheart image on screen, sohee claims to be the best when it comes to aegyo and doesn’t mind doing it on variety shows.
NOTABLE FACTS:
she can speak korean, english and japanese fluently, and a little bit of chinese.
she is known to be a huge fan of ariana grande and heaven.
she is proven to have a strong heart, for that she’s not easily scared.
she is said to be the best among her members when it comes to variety.
IDOL GOALS
SHORT-TERM GOALS:
upon discovering her variety presence not too long ago, sohee strives to do better in variety shows. she hopes to explore more about dancing at the same time, wants to be able to master different kinds of dance. besides that, she also wants to try creating choreography that can be used for jawbreaker’s discography, thinks of it as a process of learning until she’s able to contribute something for the group. sohee has recently been into filming and making videos too, so she would love to open her own youtube channel one day.
LONG-TERM GOALS:
sohee wants to be acknowledged as one of the best dancers (if not the best) in her generation, besides hoping that she could become an inspiration to those who want to pursue dancing in the future or even be an idol. she aspires to be aspired
IDOL IMAGE
it’s not hard for singularity to figure out how they wanted to market kwon sohee. despite the fact that she could easily adapt to any kind of concept given to her, they decided to go with the sweetheart, girlfriend material image for sohee. she carried it around ever so proudly — after all it’s something that she has gotten used to back at home, given how much ‘training’ her mother gave her since she was young, hoping to turn the little girl into the perfect daughter when she grew up. due to her upbringing, sohee was still a tad bit obsessed with the idea of being perfect at first, so she tried to stick with what singularity had decided for her all this time. being apart of her.oine almost felt like playing russian roulette.
sometimes their release was received well by public, but other times the girls barely got to do much if their comeback flopped. when her.oine started to become unstable, singularity decided to push sohee into doing variety shows, told her to forget being sweet and nice for now. so she did, complied with their request and went all out on variety shows. that’s how she came to learn that she’s good at entertaining the viewers with her silly acts and witty remarks, found it more easier to gain attention from public that way. thanks to her strong variety presence, people wanted to know more about her.oine and eventually became their fans.
after the girls came back as jawbreaker, kjh still keeps her image as the funny girl next door of the group. sohee loves doing variety shows, but seeing how the spotlight isn’t entirely on her anymore now, she decides to find her way into dancing again. she has only focused on doing variety and getting the group known back then when they were still her.oine, so now that they’re a tad bit stable after the whole rebranding thing, sohee wants to be taken seriously when it comes to dancing. kjh is willing to give her that opportunity and encourages her to join dancing shows to prove her worth, pushes her to show the world what she’s capable of all this time, wishes to bring out the mature side of kwon sohee.
IDOL HISTORY
little sohee was so full of love and kindness. she grew up in a loving family, in a house that felt way too big for the three of them. she liked to believe they were picture perfect — at least that’s what her mother told her, despite how withdrawn her father could be at times. her mother was always so supportive, so loving, so cheerful. it’s hard to tell if she’s ever tired of smiling, for that she had always looked like she’s happy all the time, even if her father might not seem as happy. he must have been tired working, her mother would say so she would stop asking, and for years she believed her words. maybe work was just too much for him.
at the age of four, sohee was already learning more than a child her age was supposed to. her mother sent her to as many classes as she could, wanted her to master a lot of things by the time she’s old enough to take over the world. sohee complied to her mother’s plan, believed that everything she did was for her own good. she learned ballet, took a few language lessons, attended music class, trained for tennis and swimming. sohee was sent to a prestigious school since she was young and expected to be the best among her friends, causing her to only care about her studies and achievement rather than enjoying school life.
by the time she was eight, two strangers suddenly showed up at home and her father claimed them as family, much to her mother’s surprise. the woman grew mad and sohee had never seen her mother so upset — it didn’t take her long to figure out what had happened, why her father brought them home, and why she had to called the little boy her brother. her mother began to plant hatred in the little girl’s head since then, reminded her that she shouldn’t give the boy and her mother a chance to live peacefully in their house. sohee began to despise them for coming here out of nowhere, for wrecking the harmony in her family all this time.
there was only rage and hatred for teenager sohee now. it didn’t help that her father always pitted her against the boy, wanted them to prove that they could be better than the other. everything was a competition for them, and while sohee really wanted to gain her father’s attention back, she started to grow tired of the high expectations thrown at her every single time. the pressure coming from her mother had only made things worse, for that the woman clearly wanted her daughter to be the better child in the house, so she pushed and pushed sohee until she could no longer breathe. for the first time sohee managed to let it all out on her mother, managed to tell her that she didn’t want to do this anymore.
dancing was her only way out of this misery, even if it’s just for a while. her dream was to become professional dancer one day, but of course her dear mother was against it, said it was too childish of a dream for someone who had a potential to be something bigger. she didn’t have to worry about it, her mother said, she was going to inherit the family business in the future and that’s all she ever needed to do. it didn’t make her feel better though. but little sohee used to think she couldn’t be anything else than that, because who else was going to do it if not her? her mother was so sure sohee was going to be the heiress until the boy came along, so now she had to work harder to make sure her little girl got what she deserved.
truth to be told, sohee didn’t really like the idea of being a heiress. although at times she did feel defeated by her brother, her mother was always there to motivate her to be better — sometimes she wondered if her mother knew that she wasn’t much of a help in such situation, that she only made things worse for sohee by putting more pressure for the young girl to be the best in her father’s eyes. she started to care less about those high expectations when she turned thirteen, already grew sick of being told what to do and what to not do with her life. her mother clearly wasn’t happy with how she turned out, knowing that they were going to lose the family business to the boy if sohee kept on acting recklessly.
she had never wanted freedom so bad. sohee was fourteen when she was scouted by someone who worked for singularity, a new entertainment company in need of talented girls to debut their first group. the idea of being an idol didn’t appeal much to her back then, but knowing that she could stay away from home and dance for a living, sohee was tempted to accept the offer. she knew well her mother wouldn’t be too happy to find out about it, especially when she’s still obsessed to make sohee the heiress to the family business. after a whole year of persuading her demanding mother, she finally agreed to let sohee go (albeit not so willingly) and she started training under singularity when she was fifteen.
for someone who rarely had a hard time in her life, sohee felt like she could die from training. due to the fact that she used to attend a dance academy prior to training, she was often praised for her impressive dancing skills. she didn’t take training seriously until vixen made their debut — the moment she saw them for the first time on tv, she vowed to herself that she wanted to be like them one day. vixen managed to spark motivation in sohee to become an idol, and since then she worked really hard during those long practice hours until she eventually made it to the final lineup for singularity’s first ever girl group. she was granted the main dancer position, given that she had the best sense of rhythm among them.
she could never forget the day she finally debuted with her.oine. her mother wasn’t there to cheer for her, she didn’t even receive a congratulatory message from her that day. what else could she expect? sohee knew she had disappointed her mother for leaving, for choosing to be an idol. she spent two years of training without her family support, and she had never felt more lonely than she ever was during that time. thankfully she had her girls, who had managed to stick with her through ups and downs in their journey. sohee began to enjoy life more this way, when she didn’t have to worry about messing up her mother’s plan or if she was never good enough to be seen as the perfect daughter for the kwon household.
sohee became more open minded and free spirited upon debuting. she started to value friendships more than trying to outdo everyone and be the best — sure, she still had that competitiveness in her, but not as much as she did back at home. she learned to accept that it’s okay if they weren’t the best, because as long as they were happy with what they were doing, nothing else could matter more. sohee felt like she was missing out on great things growing up, considering that she never had the chance to make many friends or do anything that she wanted to. everything was planned by her mother and she had to abide by her rules, causing sohee to depend so much on her, not know what to do when she was left alone.
she was taught to be independent now that her mother was no longer by her side, and she wasn’t sure if she liked it. no, she didn’t regret choosing this life — after all becoming an idol felt a lot easier than trying to win her father’s heart to become the heiress, so sohee would never want to trade this life for anything else right now. although her mother wanted nothing to do with her anymore, sohee still sent her messages and came home to visit her sometimes when she didn’t have to work. if this was what she had to sacrifice for wanting to do what she wanted in her life, in which she deserved to, sohee would rather live without her mother.
her.oine was doing just fine, but there were times sohee wished they could have had more schedules to attend to, especially when they weren’t promoting. for the first two years she didn’t mind it that much, still thankful that they had more free time to waste compared to other groups due to their low release rate. her.oine only had a comeback once in a year, making it hard for fans to keep waiting for them to release new music. due to her bright personality, singularity finally pushed sohee to do variety during late 2015, made her do more than just aegyo and the whole girlfriend material thing. surprisingly it turned out well for sohee and the her.oine girls, for that people loved her silly acts and witty remarks on variety shows.
singularity saw it as a way to promote her.oine better to the public, so they began to send sohee out to do variety more often, tried to shed off her sweet, innocent girlfriend material image. sohee didn’t mind. she even loved it, found a liking in her newfound talent — she had always been the cheerful type anyways, so it wasn’t hard for her to crack jokes here and there just for the sake of the shows. her playful personality managed to gain attention from public, managed to get her.oine known. sohee loved being in the spotlight, even if it meant she had to work harder than the other girls during the year. it felt lonely to do things without her members sometimes, but she didn’t want them to live in the shadows either.
after all sohee was never the type to sit still and do nothing for a long time and spending her time practicing all the time didn’t feel as exciting anymore now, so why not just go out and do as many variety shows as she could, right? if that’s what would get her more well known, sohee wouldn’t even mind not being able to rest due to the busy schedules. it’s not something she faces often anyways, considering her.oine never really went on shows other than the music ones. but that’s only if they’re promoting, and if they don’t? they would just have to rot in the basement waiting for the next comeback (if there is), and sohee had to admit that wasn’t fun at all. what’s the point of being an idol if they are not known anyways?
the sudden fall of singularity really caught her off guard. she knew that their company was still new, but with how hard she had worked to get their name to be known, she was confident they could make it to the top one day. but it seemed like luck wasn’t on her side this time, and sohee wasn’t sure how to feel about kjh taking them in. sure, looking from how well they promoted atlas, she could say they’re in a better hand now — at least in terms of having frequent comebacks and promotions, they wouldn’t have to worry much. however the pressure put on them was no less than they first debuted (after all they would be re-debuting again), causing sohee to be so stressed out over the first month they were preparing to come back as jawbreaker, that she even lost so much weight.
while jawbreaker had managed to gain more fame upon joining kjh, sohee felt a little disappointed that the spotlight was no longer on her now. she still did variety out of interest, but eventually wanted to focus more on her dancing — she didn’t have much chance to show off her dancing skills when she was in singularity, given that the company only pushed her into doing variety most of the time. now that jawbreaker was more well known, sohee figured out she wanted to be taken seriously when it came to dancing, for that her dream was to be a professional dancer in the first place. she didn’t want people to remember kwon sohee as the funny girl from jawbreaker (or her.oine) for all her life, no, she wanted to be remembered as one of the best dancers (if not the best) in her generation. maybe if she’s lucky, she could even contribute to the group’s choreography one day.

Have you guys seen Juniper’s instagram lately???? Is KJH crazy? Why are they still letting her upload things like this? I’m a Swee-T so I’m honestly just concerned and worried about her... the things she uploads just keeps getting weirder these days...
She keeps posting weird text posts acting like she’s better than everyone, and all her selcas are so... mm... like she’s obviously trying to look sensual and it makes me so uncomfortable as a fan...
I don’t know, I just feel so bad for the rest of her group, and for people who work with her.It must be so hard for them to deal with her attitude all the time, you can just see she has a problem ~~ I get that she’s been on TV since she was young but she must really be obsessed with attention huh.....
POST RESPONSE | [ + 221 ] [ - 79 ]
1. [ ㅇㅇ ] Wow that photoset with Eunsol (?) seriously shocked me... what’s going on in her mind these days?? Is she just trying to get into a scandal?? Seriously, her feed looks like she’s just begging for attention... f*ck I’m so annoyed ㅡㅡ KJH didn’t save her dying group only for her to do this and drag Jawbreaker’s brand down, is she crazy???  2. [ 아이럽쥬 ] Wow look, it’s the Olympians... you guys are so transparent. You think you can trash her just because she worked on a song with your precious oppa??? ㅎㅎㅎㅎ She’s just posting what she likes and her selcas aren’t even that bad?? And the photos with Nightmare’s Eunsol... so what... they’re obviously good friends and were just having fun and wanted to share that with the fans, why is that so shocking? You guys are the weird ones here.  3. [ ㅇㅇ ] I’ll admit I’m not a fan but...it’s too much....hah... and she posts so much with Chanel ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ we get it, she got lucky that KJH used Atlas’ name to get her a deal with Chanel so fast, but isn’t she showing off too much already for a rookie? Her managers need to manage her better... just ban her from instagram already....    -- Ah.... rookie.... ㅋㅋㅋㅋ As a Swee-T my heart seriously hurts for HER.oine ㅠㅠㅠ Everyone please take note, Jawbreaker isn’t a rookie group... they’ve been around as long as your Atlas oppas too ~ plus, she “debuted” on tv when she was a baby with her dad, so you’re just making yourself look stupid, if she’s using anyone for fame it’s her own family, not your stupid oppas

LOADING INFORMATION ON JAWBREAKER’S LEAD VOCAL, LEAD DANCE HAN SIRAE...
IDOL DETAILS
STAGENAME: Siena CURRENT AGE: 21 DEBUT AGE: 16 TRAINEE SINCE AGE: 13 COMPANY: KJH SECONDARY SKILL: Acting
IDOL PROFILE
NICKNAME(S): Sina, given by her fans as a simple shortening of her stage name; Baby Giraffe, given by her family and soon spread among her members and fans, one would think it’s because she supposedly has a long neck but Sirae was a very tall girl while growing up and her legs stood out, plus she was very clumsy and got hurt easily; Crying Baby, she cries really easily and that’s known to the fans since the day they had their first win with La Ta Ta. INSPIRATION: As for people that she looks up to and aspires to become like them, Sirae has in mind a couple of female soloists and groups, like Boa, Lee Hyori and Nixie. They were overall important figures that she had in mind before starting her training and even after when she became a trainee. SPECIAL TALENTS:
Sports: surprisingly, despite her usual clumsy behavior, Sirae is very good at sports and events such as ISAC are meant to show that off. She can do archery decently and she runs faster than she thought.
Ice skating: did for a very short while when she was a kid and wanted to become a figure skater. It has been years since she properly practiced but she can still pull a few decent movements.
Tongue twisters: while rapping is not her specialty (not even by far), during her training period Sirae was told to practice tongue twisters to be able to improve her pronunciation and her breathing. After debuting, it became something she’d use on variety and radio shows.
NOTABLE FACTS:
Was a student at School of Performing Arts of Seoul from 2012 to 2015.
Has an older sister who also auditioned to Midas, but differently from Sirae, her sister had success in her audition.
Started acting in the webdrama ‘Twenty Years Old’.
Despite all the lack of promotion for HER.oine, Singularity still tried to put Sirae in a couple of dramas and fans complained saying she was being selfish for thinking about her career only.
IDOL GOALS
SHORT-TERM GOALS:
Sirae’s one main goal for now is to focus on her career in Jawbreaker and give her best to be able to show a nice performance now that they were given another chance. She wants to work in her stage presence and become someone who can play her role well in the group. No mediocre performances since she’s trying to avoid the comments saying she cares only about her career as an actress.
LONG-TERM GOALS:
Sirae is, in a very general way, pretty involved with acting and despite her bad start with it, she truly enjoys that aspect of her career and wishes to move into acting as something serious. She wants to be someone who’s great at doing her job in dramas and not just one more idol who’s doing it because their company told them so. If given the opportunity by KJH, she’d want to explore more of that.
IDOL IMAGE
She just debuted and what she has is baby-like features that makes one fall in love with her little sister image. She’s young and innocent and that kind of image works well as a contrast with her confidence on stage because there she’s someone completely different. Singularity may not have done a good job in many things during the time Jawbreaker was still HER.oine but marketing Siena as their little girl with big personality may have worked well during the four comebacks they had under that name.
Siena is not sweet or has a stunningly beautiful image, she doesn’t look like a princess who came out from a fairytale and doesn’t speak sweetly or stumble over her words. She’s cute and smiles easily, she also has a funny laugh that is simply contagious. She’s not blunt, she knows her place, knows she must be perfect if she wants people to like her, but the younger child syndrome hits her from time to time and it works because people think it’s adorable. They buy this persona, the easy-going girl who looks fierce when she’s performing but when she’s out of it, she’s just a normal-pretty-girl-who-smiles-at-everyone.
When she starts acting, that persona gets stronger. Siena must fit in the molds, she can rush herself, she must be composed and be elegant. She’s not chic, she doesn’t know how to act like that, and a goofy smile will often popup in her face because being idol-Siena is much easier than being actress-Siena. That Siena is closer to who Sirae really is even though the real her lives under layers and layers of makeup and fancy-looking clothes. In a strike of luck, the actress-Siena is accepted by the cameras, she’s an idol but she’s also an actress, she’s the best of both worlds, isn’t she?
When they are under KJH nothing much changes. She works with the goofy type of personality. Her fans like it and as far as she knows, what makes them happy, makes the company happy. Things are slightly different about her concept though, she’s nearing her 23nd birthday in Korea and she wants to show that despite starting very young, she’s now a grown woman, and KJH seems okay to accept that because it will also help to establish a more solid image for their group. They are all grown women now and, in a way or another, Siena wants to show them for what they are here for.
IDOL HISTORY
When you’re a little girl, you dream with a lot of things and Sirae wanted to be many things when she was a kid. She started wanting to become a train driver, then she wanted to become a vet and a teacher, a few months later she switched to doctor and for years she changed her mind constantly and always held so much passion for her daydreams of perfect jobs that would fit her once she grew up. At the little age of thirteen she decided she wanted to be a singer and the difference that time was that the idea stuck with her for a long time.
Her parents met in the church’s choir. Her mother was a vocalist and her father was one of the kids in the back who watched her in awe every time she opened her mouth to sing. Every time Sirae asked them how they started dating, the story would change. Sometimes he was the one who confessed his feelings, other times, her mother was the one asking him out on a date because she thought he was cute. Despite the changes in the narrative, she was certain about one thing. They got married, had children, bough their house and lived a peacefully.
She didn’t think of her life as boring but perhaps it could look like it for some people.
Sirae had a nice life with her parents and her siblings. As family, they only really had each other to lean on and since she was the youngest one out of the three kids, she had the advantage of being the most pampered not only by their parents but also by her older brother and sister.
They grew up listening to music, given their parents background with the whole thing. They’d put gospel songs to play every so often and then the rest of the time was designated for songs that played in the radio or from her mother’s selection of the American divas. Sirae remembered clearly how they tried to teach them music theory when they were younger and how she became so excited when she got into class and realized she already knew some of that stuff.
She honestly loved it. She loved music and loved singing and dancing with her father but while growing up, that wasn’t offered to her as something she could have as a career. Not until she saw Boa performing on TV and after listening to her songs so many times on the radio, having a face and choreographies and explosions happening right in front of her eyes made her ecstatic. When she said she’d become an idol just like her, her parents chuckled and said ‘sure’, because she had told them she’d be an astronaut just a few weeks before, but she kept the thought with her for months before finally applying to the auditions in Midas Media.
She was honestly well prepared at the time, she sang a song, danced a routine that her sister helped her to prepare and both ended up auditioning to the process. In the end her sister was more successful than her in the attempt to be scouted and Sirae felt the mix of happiness but also bitterness swirling inside of her.
A couple of weeks later when the auditions for Singularity opened, Sirae was once again on the game, this time by herself and relatively less confident of a positive response. It happened that since she had low expectations, all the results seem to be better than the expected and when they released the results and she saw she made it in, she was so happy that she cried on the spot.
When she was about to complete three years in the company, the news of a new girl group under their label were released and she was more than proud when she told her parents that she was one of the trainees chosen to be part of the group.
HER.oine debuted and once again Sirae was living under the adrenaline of the following months. And then they went on a hiatus and she became demotivated. The following comebacks were just the same. A preparation for the next comeback and then she’d be in high spirits while they were able to perform and then she’d be back to an unmotivated state because Singularity was uncapable of promoting them in a right way. She felt extremely frustrated.
She loved performing and loved being on the stage and that’s probably the main reason why she kept going and endured the entire situation. Because she wanted to give her best while singing to their two songs. She expected more and better of their debut and when she thought things couldn’t turn out sourer, Singularity decided to push her into webdramas that only created conflict among HER.oine’s fans and gave Sirae a spot as selfish and greedy for neglecting the other girls and paying more attention to a very premature debut as an actress.
She almost didn’t sign up with KJH when they came from the skies and saved HER.oine from imminent disbandment after the fall of Singularity. Her members were the ones influencing in her decision and in the end, she was won by the pure pressure and insistence of her band mates to sign with them. She almost gave up not because she didn’t like doing it anymore even though idol life was never easy to begin with, but she was addicted to these feelings of working with something that she was truly passionate about and to receive the love from the fans that she didn’t mind that the system was a mess and oppressing. It’s a truly unhealthy relationship.
She doesn’t mind that they are in the bottom because she never truly felt like they were that high anyways. They have people expecting things from them. KJH wanting to know if they were a good investment, their fans who are probably looking for better management, the members wanting to know if this will work because that’s what she asks herself every day.
Did this worth?

I’m so proud of Yujin everyone. Actually I’ll be honest, of course i am a Sweet-T....and you should be too. But really, even with bias to the side I’m proud of Yujin!!!! She went on King of Masked Singer and....well, she didn’t win... but she was so brave to go on the show.  Maybe you already know it but she’s the main dancer in Jawbreaker! And her personality is seriously the best. Jawbreaker was actually HER.oine before you know? And they’re really finally doing a good job so I was so happy to see Yujin on a TV show!  Her dance break was really amazing and her voice is really improved, so you should watch it!
POST RESPONSE | [ + 158 ] [ - 19 ]
1. [ ㅇㅇ ] Ah...actually...it feels bad to say this because her personalities are so good but.....Yujin-ah....this is a vocal show....     – She did a really good job though, much better than expected? And other idols danced before, too, don’t be cruel  ㅠㅠ 2. [ 우유진 ] How can you be so critical, she’s here to show a new side of herself, she’s never been in any big troubles, and she’s always working so hard. You complain about dancers never singing, and then complain when they do? What a joke ~~~  3. [ ㅇㅇ ] I can admit she did more than expected but.... why did they send Yujin and not one of the vocals? To... a singing show? Does that make sense? Seriously I don’t understand how KJH is promoting them.    –  I agree but.... at least they’re finally being promoted now...

SHORT-TERM GOALS:
After joining KJH and being pushed to promote more than she’s used to, Ellie feels like they actually want her to succeed. It’s been in talks to let her potentially have a solo career, and soon. Sometime within the next year, she hopes to launch that career and release her first single.
LONG-TERM GOALS:
No group lasts forever, Ellie knows this, but she wants to last forever. She wants her solo career to take off and to carry her for the rest of her life. She loves the spotlight. She wants to become an icon in Korea, like BoA or IU. Except for rapping, obviously.
IDOL IMAGE
the marketing team at singularity have an idea in mind when they hear about the new foreign trainee. silly american, still getting accustomed to the language and the culture; it was a stereotype they assumed she’d slide into easily. when word of this reaches her ears, it’s obvious to her that they haven’t done their research. that’s not who she is; she’s not even sure she could pretend to be that. they have yet to speak to her about it, and it doesn’t look like she’s debuting soon, so she does everything in her power to change their mind. she knows she has to be respectful of her new company. her father’s words ring sound in her mind: “don’t speak back to anyone like you spoke to your teachers here; you’ll be sent back home without a second thought”. more than anything she wants to succeed and debut. but she decides she needs to be bolder. she speaks to her superiors with a surprising confidence. in any class or lesson, she’s always at the front, eager to learn and even more eager to impress. eleanor knows she’s more than a stereotype; she just has to show them.
when it’s time to debut, the image they’ve come up for her isn’t one she would pick for herself, but it’s better than the original idea. there’s an emphasis on respect (that’s not a surprise to eleanor); they’re the newcomers on the scene, they have to earn their spot. they want people to like them, to feel like they’re at the same level. be humble. they know eleanor has a tendency to be brash, and though they claim they want her ‘true personality to shine’ they also want to reign her in. she can come off as straightforward and a little gutsy, but there are boundaries. don’t insult, don’t offend, don’t show the group or company in a bad light. everything in moderation.
they decide to play up her underdog story. her parents, korean immigrants wanting a better life for their future children than they were able to provide in their previous circumstances. a girl raised in a different country wanting to get back to her korean roots, feeling a calling of some sort to be apart of it all. rap competitions she came in second, never first, so she pushed herself to be better. to be the best. and here she was, finally succeeding and debuting as a main rapper. achieving her dream. it’s a story spun to inspire girls around the world, that anything is possible. ellie proves to them that she’s not so different from them.
eleanor thinks higher of herself than most of the world does, though she doesn’t always let it show. she’s been quoted claiming that she’s the self-proclaimed visual of her.oine, and the true reason for their success. no one is ever entirely sure if she’s joking or not, or if this is all an act. she doesn’t want them to know the answer. it rubs some the wrong way, and others think it’s cute and naive. when asked who she’d want to trade places with for a day, she said ‘no one’ because she can’t imagine being anyone better than who she already is. her favorite part of any comeback is her rap (“it basically defines the whole song”, she claims). a meeting with her management and a very firm slap on the wrists follows.
this gains her backlash. it’s been there since day one, but this really stirs it up. why does she get to be the main rapper? what makes her specially? the other members are more talented than she is, she reads. they have far more experience, and she can’t deny that. one of them was raised by a rapper/producer. three years feels like an eternity to eleanor, but there are trainees that have been working for over six years and still haven’t managed to debut. what does she have that they lack? while she wants to scream back that she has talent, passion, and drive, she keeps her mouth closed because it’s what she’s supposed to do. when asked to comment on her criticism, she just smiles and promises fans that she’s working her hardest to be the best she can for them. when has she become this person?
despite her big mouth and sometimes too-much confidence, she is depicted caring for her members. she may let out a huff or roll her eyes when one hugs her, but she can be caught passionately cheering them on in any ventures outside of the group or out at dinner with one of them, letting them pick off of her plate. she’s not motherly of the younger girls, and not a maknae-type by any means. more of the teenage daughter who acts too cool for her family but deep down would do anything for them.
things change when their label goes south and they get bought out. her.oine is no more. who knows what their new concept will be. from what she’s told, the changes aren’t too drastic. it’ll still be a girl crush group (thank god), she’ll still be the main rapper (thank GOD). but as far image, they want her to play up the foreigner card. talk about los angeles and where she’s from. not in the same way singularity did. she doesn’t have to play dumb, she already has her image and for now it’s fine. they don’t want to stir up any trouble before they can get the group going again. it’s just that atlas has been so successful overseas that kjh hopes that jawbreaker having an openly foreign member will help bridge that gap for them too.
what they want eleanor to be and who she wants to show the world are completely different people though. her confidence is obvious to anyone who interacts with her. it oozes out of her pores, out of her mouth, impossible to ignore. she’s someone who knows what she wants and is committed to getting it. she’s the girl in school you were afraid to talk to. the one you thought just might bully you but instead empowers you to be a stronger version of yourself. the male fans would love her for her body, her rapping skills, and the not-so-subtle winks she hands out like party favors. the girls would see the more dangerous side of them in eleanor, the side they wish they were confident enough to show to the world.
but for now, she waits. she waits for their next concept, for the reviews to come in, for a chance to be a little more herself. it seems just out of grasp, but she’s fighting for jawbreaker’s success and the freedom she misses.
IDOL HISTORY
eleanor is practically born with middle child syndrome. she has an older brother her family adores, he’s a natural at everything he tries. the only thing she’s good at is talking. the babbling starts at an early age and her parents wish they could go back to a day when she didn’t make a sound, because now she never stops. and when she learns a word, three more come quickly after and before they know it, she’s talking their ears off again. it’s nonsense of course, but it’s never ending. as a child, she’s needy and can’t seem to entertain herself; she craves the attention. on the day she turns three, her birthday party is canceled as her mom is rushed to the hospital prematurely. she returns with two more kids, a boy and a girl. everyone is fussing over the new additions instead of bringing her presents and talking to her. at that age she doesn’t understand why, but ever since, her special day wasn’t just for her. she had two others to constantly share with. share toys, share her parents love and attention. she had never been a fan of sharing. a young eleanor tells her parents very boldly that she hates her new siblings before slamming the door, causing the babies to cry.
at home, it’s all korean all the time. they speak it because it’s easier for her parents, and to make sure they don’t forget that part of who they are. eleanor’s mother cooks traditional korean food, just like her mother did. she tries to get her kids interested in it and her oldest is a natural, of course. eleanor can’t seem to get the hang of it or find any interest in it, so she’s shooed out of the kitchen. a bitter scowl is present across her face during dinner. the only time when she feels truly included is during their summers in daegu. she cherishes the time she gets to spend with her grandmother, because at times it feels like her grandmother is the only one who cherishes her.
her father is a professor at a local university, teaching korean language and asian studies. her mother is a pediatric nurse. with two parents that work full time and three other siblings, it’s near impossible for eleanor to get any alone time, or even attention, from her parents. so, like a true middle child, she begins to act out. at first it’s talking disrespectfully to teachers. she even writes a rap about the vice principle and his snaggle-tooth and performs it for everyone at recess. once she decides to spend a week pretending she suddenly forgot english, which prompted a parent-teacher meeting. as she gets older, things get worse. showing up late to class and telling her teacher to ‘fuck off’ when asked where she was. skipping class altogether to hang out with the kids that finally took notice of her. she was suspended for underage smoking in the school parking lot. if anything, her parents were stressed and angry. but they were also busy, so her punishments were minimal and poorly policed.
the crowd she finds herself involved with aren’t exactly stand-up citizens, but they give her the attention she craves. eleanor sneaks out most nights to meet up with them. it’s something new every night, but it almost always involves alcohol, cigarettes, and something illegal. whether that be drugs, breaking into someone’s house, graffiti, or spending time with boys who are too old to have her best interest at heart. she’s spiraling, flying head first down the wrong path, and no one seems to notice.
her favorite nights involve taking a bus down to lincoln heights to watch underground rappers perform and battle. thanks to her friends, her main interests lie in rap and hiphop, so she’s not foreign to this style, but seeing it live is something else. it awakens something in eleanor she wasn’t sure she’d ever feel: passion. it’s during a trip that a friend encourages her to enter an amateur competition. she does so with surprising confidence for someone so young and is eliminated the first round. laughed off the makeshift stage. her quick temper boils up and she’s furious and embarrassed at the same time, claiming it wasn’t her fault that she did so bad; that person she was against COULDN’T have been a beginner. despite her claims, she begins to practice, and practice hard. she enters as many competitions as she can, missing more and more school. but she’s getting better and that’s what counts, placing higher and higher.
eleanor’s grades begin to drop and that raises a red flag to her parents. rules are stricter, she can’t sneak out anymore. there will be no more absences from school and she’ll come straight home afterwards. she’s finally getting the attention she craves but it feels all wrong. something is missing and she knows exactly what that is.
it’s one of these friends that tells her about the audition. the boy and his sister are older than her, but two of the only korean friends she has. they were the ones to introduce her to kpop and khiphop to begin with. some of it is ridiculous, some of it flows better than american hiphop, but it all piques her curiosity. she has no idea what groups are under this label, singularity, or anything about it, other than it’s kpop. somewhere deep inside, this audition is her only chance at freedom. life at home with parents who don’t understand is a prison. out in the industry, she’ll be able to do what she loves. maybe it’s not originally how she imagine herself, but it’s s step in the right direction, the only direction that makes sense to her right now. she signs up for the audition and prepares a song in english for them, and one in korean.
eleanor acts unsurprised when she gets offered a chance to audition again in seoul. the extensive time spent with family in korea makes it easy to get her parents to agree to let her go. and when she gets offered a spot in the company, she tells her parents it’s exactly what she needs to get on the ‘right path’. they have no problem with it, though she had hoped they would act a little sadder to see their oldest daughter move out of the country before she’s even eighteen.
trainee life isn’t at all what eleanor expected. she didn’t know it was going to be so… strict. she thought she had left this life behind in california. she also didn’t expect to have so much competition. the whining is short-lived (much to the gratitude of the other trainees). she knows what she needs to do to get to where she needs to be. so she trains day in and day out. she barely eats. she’s at the gym constantly. every tidbit of adive they give her she gobbles up, eager to improve. she’s ruthless and some of the other trainees are rubbed the wrong way. she doesn’t care. she doesn’t care about anyone other than herself and it shows. others aren’t the biggest fan of her personality, though in front of her superiors, she puts on a kinder face. her temper again gets the better of her and she yells at a younger girl for accidentally tripping her. while she knows deep down her reaction was uncalled for, her pride keeps her from giving a sincere apology until she spots the girl crying one day. she offers the girl a hidden candy bar and mumbles a nearly incomprehensible but sincere “sorry”.
korean classes weren’t anything eleanor had expected when she moved. she thought her korean was good. great, actually. but that was just her over-confidence doing her a disservice. there are things that only come with a native language that they need to pound into her. her dialect skews some words that they want her to be clearer on. she needs to know what idioms work and what don’t, and the ones that are special just to the korean language. she has to finish school still which is done locally, and it nearly feels overwhelming. there’s so much about history and tradition her family hadn’t taught her, and here she was trying to play catch up while also training. she’s constantly tired, making her even more snappy and short with the other trainees. they just think it’s her personality, but really she’s worried about whether she’ll be able to succeed or not. maybe she’s not cut out for this, maybe she can’t do it. maybe she should go back home and just be a teacher even though she’s not the biggest fan of kids. doubts aren’t foreign to eleanor and at times she has trouble pushing through them.
her training doesn’t lightening up as a year passes, and then six months, and then six more. she’s two years in when she nearly blows her voice. her practicing is consistent until she wakes up one morning unable to speak. her stomach drops and her heart breaks just a little. is this the end for her? a quick meeting at the doctors proves she’ll be okay, but she gets put on voice rest for a week. she only lasts five days before she’s back rapping, a little more cautious, but just as determined.
it’s another year before eleanor debuts, with a nickname not foreign to her. her dancing and rapping has improved, she’s proven to be a talented and passionate trainee, so ellie is debuting as the main rapper of the new girl group, her.oine. when she’s finally in private, she bursts out in tears. all her hard work was finally paying off. it was her first real glimpse at any kind of freedom. she loves the concept, loves her role. feels… okay about the other girls. she’s never been great at sharing the spotlight, but at least she feels important here. and over time she warms up to the other members.
she still has a ways to go. she’s met with endless criticism from fans and critics alike. she’s not good enough, she’s foreign, she’s just another ‘idol rapper’ and not even a great one at that. she’s boring, she’s rude. anything they can think of comes out and she feels the tears start, but she swallows them. this isn’t the time to wallow in self pity. all she can do is try to prove them wrong, even when she really wants to give up.
singularity gives her one chance to prove herself. they don’t seem to invest much in her or the group, they don’t seem to care about them. so she’s surprised when they meet her halfway and both parties agree to let her go out for unpretty rapstar. it’s at least… something. it gives her something to do while the group sits idle. always the competitive type, she tries her hardest. but her korean is still not good enough. she doesn’t win, doesn’t even come in second place. she finishes in fourth place which she’s told is pretty good but it’s not good enough for her. she vows to practice harder, to not be so humiliated again. little does she know that her time as part of ‘her.oine’ is limited.
the always-confident ellie feels her confidence falter when their company goes under. for a brief moment, the group’s future is uncertain. her future is uncertain. until they’re told that they’re the one good thing to come out of singularity. kjh global creative is going to take them on with some minor changes. for the better, they say. she’s very skeptical of the company, of what they have prepared, and even of their new name (jawbreaker is a dumb name, if you ask her).  but she doesn’t have a choice. eleanor is ready to get back in the spotlight, no matter what it takes.
and she does. they do. their debut song doesn’t win any awards, but it’s good. it’s well received. and she surprises herself by loving it. ellie’s riding a high, but it’s not over yet. kjh has them preparing for a comeback already, much to the group’s surprise. she’s not used to this kind of attention, this kind of investment, but it’s what she’s always wanted and she’s thriving.

Actually since Suran started eating up the competition things have gotten really bad for Jawbreaker.....
First antis tried to drag Suran for unfair treatment and for her Chanel pictorial, but also, if you know the show, the bullying was f*cking severe. Even in airport photos lately she’s lost more weight too. You can even see hints in the show, f*ck those kids are really shameless.
And the show was really too much, to edit out Jiahn and even Ellie so much, the screen time difference was too severe, isn’t that a big burden too? I heard from an unnie on the show that Ellie and Jiahn f*cking aren’t getting along at all.  It’s nice that Suran is still close with both of them, but wouldn’t that change if the gap kept growing? Suran was really eating up the ranks... KJH knew it wasn’t worth the exposure anymore ㅋㅋ  Just put Ellie on Unpretty Rap Star instead so she can shine !!
Anyway this probably means a comeback is soon so support Jawbreaker!!
