Having finished with the first of many meetings with Seireitie regarding the restoration of Hueco Mundo, Nelliel spots Jewel across the room. It's the first time she'd seen her in the light of Seireitei and she couldn't help but notice how pretty her hair glistened under the light. Like a soft blush of cherry blossom petals. Catching her gaze, lashes upturn into soft crescents, happy to see a familiar face amongst many foreign ones.

Tell me about Pypur :3c

Pypur is Rox's kitten! :D

The cat has had several names over the years; originally Stolas, but I realized that with the setup of Hell, it was sorta like Rox naming the cat after their dad's cousin's mother's uncle four times removed, who is also a high ranking duke, and still alive.

Then there was Pynoctis - but It never felt right.

Finally, I came up with Pypur as it covers two bases; One being my habit of creating weird spellings for the simplest of names, e.g. Alyceson for Alison, Pypur for Piper (tho Rox does says it as Py-Pur). Two, is Rox's growth in their own identity as they are passing the "Py-" prefix on to their feline daughter. Rox's name of Pyrox comes from "Py-" being a common bastard prefix amongst demons in my world, like Snow or Rivers is in Game of Thrones, and "Rox" (rocks) reportedly being the first thing their dad wanted to dash Rox against when he saw them. So Pypur is the name Rox gives the kitten, as they take some pride now in the "Py-" prefixes, and "Pur" was the first thing the cat did when it saw Rox.

How Rox found this kitten was they were having an extremely rough night and their negative thoughts were giving them no peace, maybe they messed up at being a "good guy" and they ran away from the others (Heath, Logan, Vincent, and Co.) ended up drowning their faults in booze, as Rox tends to do, and ended up at some point face down in a dirty alleyway too drunk to even keep their shapeshifting up. Then suddenly something crawls across Rox's body until it comes to nettle itself between their chin, neck, and shoulders, where it began to vibrate violently.

(Part of this has to due with me wanting Rox, being from Hell, to have a sorta alien understanding of common things, but as a retro horror movie buff, not sure I can swing that)

Anyway, Rox returns home the next morning, very hungover and with the scruffy lil' alley cat that has befriended them. They use one of their stubbed punk bracelets as a collar for Pypur, and the kitten is just very attached to Rox, she follows them everywhere, and Rox is completely smitten with the floof.

I partly want to give Rox a kitty, as it's cute and can show a softer side to the overgrown incarnation of teen angst, but there is a more depressing side too. As there always seems to be with me.

Much like how you've learned with Heather, Rox doesn't survive to the end of my characters' story. Though the exact way Rox dies has to be rethought because of another recon, Rox dies while posing as Ramiel in order to save Heath. Originally what kills Rox causes all memories of them to fade, and there were going to be times Heath would look at Pypur, and it would get harder and harder for him to remember how they came to own a cat, and why they spelled Piper that way.

However, I am playing with an idea to bring Rox back. Though I hesitate cause I don't want death to be meaningless, as Heather comes back as Lilith, and she brings back Emery by legit just pulling her soul out of the CasMark. (to everyone's horror) But Rox's return would basically have their mother doing some of the most fucked up shit to make it happen, and um- Rox would have rather have stayed dead. Cause at least they died doing something good, they gave their life to save Heath's, and they could have that at the very least. And yet, it is actually fitting that Rox's mom would fuck that bittersweet ending up for them.

He's the type of man who will match an umbrella to his tie. Like... who does that?! His favorite weather's rumbling thunderstorms... they are quite soothing.

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

7. I do my best not to actually hate him, but it's impossible not to come off as hating Aizen when people glaze him as the second greatest anime villain of all time. I appreciate what he is, but I hate what people want him to be, which he isn't.

He is not the ultimate planner—he moves first, gets his enemies off-balance, and makes stuff up as he goes. He isn't curious about things outside of his scope of knowledge, and is smugly certain in his own superiority. A good quote for him is by (probably) Karl Rove, and you can see how it panned out for him IRL too:

The aide said that guys like me were “in what we call the reality-based community,” which he defined as people who “believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.” I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. “That’s not the way the world really works anymore,” he continued. “We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”

He is not the ultimate intellect—he openly and directly admits Kisuke is smarter than him, and the person constantly escaping Kisuke's expectations and knowing what he's up to is Yoruichi, so you can readily say she's smarter than him too.

He is not the ultimate social engineer—he routinely fails to identify others' motivations and relationships, such as assuming that Ichigo "works for" Kisuke and was "ordered" to go to Soul Society, because that's how he (Aizen) would've done it.

He is not the ultimate tactical analyst—he misidentifies or fails to understand every single thing happening in the final fight with Ichigo, repeatedly misreading and misunderstanding the situation and frankly having no idea what is going on. He also cannot identify basic facts like say, Kisuke being Yoruichi's subordinate.

He is not the ultimate fighter—he openly admits he would've lost to Yamamoto, and later, to Isshin. Prior to absorbing the Hōgyoku, he was very strong, but only on the level of Jūshirō, with having very high reiatsu, an overpowered Shikai, and good mastery of fundamentals. But he wasn't orders of magnitude more powerful than everyone else, or even factors. That's why he needed all these plans and gambits and traps and counters and why he absorbed the Hōgyoku as a failsafe.

Aizen is, ultimately, not that impressive. He is a jack of all trades, master of none, who moved first and through subterfuge got everyone on the back foot. He is not The Greatest Anime Villain Of All Time™ and I'm absolutely sick and tired of people acting like he is.

Canon Aizen is fine, Fanon Aizen is an overblown work of imagination.

(Inbox call) What traits does Chinatsu find likeable in other people? What would draw her to a person to want to befriend them, or does she not care for friendships very much?

Loyalty, determination, independence, and swordsmanship are the most impressive traits to Chinatsu.

I wouldn't say Chinatsu doesn't care about friendship. It's a matter of making lasting friendships. As daughter of the former captain-commander, it's important those around her are there for her, not her status. Once she does make a connection, their friendship is highly valued.

As it is, her most beloved friends are Shunsui and Juushirou (when he was alive). She would even consider them her brothers, having grown up with them.

To love something so deeply, and fully, without it loving you back. It was a different type of obsession, hellbent on wringing every drop of sweat and blood out of you. Giving everything that you have for nothing in return. All that remains in the end is bones and scars.

Hayden laughs, that deep rumbling laugh that he is known for. The way his eyes close, scrunching at the edges to banish away the pain, the dull ache that exists to him. A lonesome sadness. But he will persist on, driving forward with all the might that he can summon until the work he must accomplish is complete.

Because the work must be completed, if not in this life then the next. The world is a beautiful place with many problems and imperfections that exist. If his love for it destroys him, then that cannot possibly be the worst way to go, no?

unfortunately, he'd planned to come bother her as he'd been bothered numerous times before, so when she'd left, damn near sealed away, he'd decided that was the best way to bother her - find out what she's hiding. how she didn't notice him was beyond him, but maybe he'd kept enough of a distance that she could dismiss it..

whatever the reasoning, it didn't take him long to hone in on her, as much as he.. strongly changed his mind about wanting to be there, actually. too cold for his liking, but he'd come this far, and she'd located him soon enough. too late to go back to somewhere warmer by that point.

Curses. This required so much more than just a yes or no. So many factors to consider, so many nuances that weren't just black or white. But all in all, if asked to choose between two choices, there was only one answer.

Nelliel seldom partakes in copious amounts of drinking, but she supposes this night can be an exception. After months and months of going back and forth between Las Noches and Seireitei, there was finally a bit of progress to be seen regarding the reparations of her home and of the arrancar bodies the shinigmai known as Mayuri Kurotsuchi was in possession of.

Jewel had proposed the outing idea, and Nelliel didn't have any means to oppose her. So drink after drink, she let herself fall into the lull of stories and laughter. This moment of careless joy was light and fleeting, and when their silence became comforting, they knew it was time to return to their respective places.

On their way back, Nelliel slips.

The misstep is small, but between the drinks, her blurry gaze, and muddled thoughts, she's momentarily brought back to the moment when she was thrown off the ledge of Las Noches, skull newly cracked and the perpetrator of the attack growing further and further from her reach.

This time, though, she doesn't hit the ground.

"Thank you, Jewel..." with her help, she steadies herself and blinks away the memory, gaze focusing again, "for not letting me fall."

★ - sad headcanon (for Beeyel)

So this is sad-ish? But probably not for Beeyel himself.

I imagine that Beeyel is cursed so that all of his offspring are flies, and that's why he is known as Beelzebub, Lord of the Flies. (I'm not sure who or what cursed him in this way, but I don't think it is hard to believe that there's something out there that would punish Beeyel in this way.)

At first, Beeyel was mad, he couldn't sire a legitimate heir (Though I doubt Beeyel wants an heir to pass down the spoils of his conquests and victories to.... but still it is not a good look for a Prime Hellion) But over time he grew to appreciate this curse on his lineage. The Lord Flies who were his "children" proved to be ideal mindless minions for him. They obey his every command (as long as it's simple) and their needs are few. Plus they are easy to create, as not only can he implant lord fly eggs with his tail, but also because the lord flies procreate like crazy, (proving they're a chip of the old block, just like their pa!)

Now you may think, 'Well this is all well and gross, but hardly sad.' Well, much like the son of a bitch it was put on, the curse can be extremely malicious, as once in a blue moon the curse's effects remain dormant, say until puberty or another later stage in life. Once the curse 'activates' Beeyel's 'normal, humanoid' offspring starts going through some mighty graphic changes.

Their digestive system changes and it becomes impossible to consume any solid food. But the digestive enzymes in their saliva change as well, so if they spit or vomit on solid food it begins to break down and liquefy, allowing them to drink the food. However, the enhanced enzymes will break down any organic tissues including those of the Beeyel's child's mouth.

Another change that occurs is the child will start to sprout sensory hairs or bristles directly connected to sensory neurons that make them extremely sensitive. After the bristles develop, the skin starts to thicken and harden in patches across the body, the soft flesh becoming something more like an exoskeleton. Whereas the endoskeleton is deteriorating from within along with other organs like the heart, the kidneys, and the lungs break down or change to match their dipteran counterpart.

While this metamorphosis is slow and extremely painful, no mortal mixed child of Beeyel's has ever survived the ordeal. It remains a strange medical mystery to those who have witnessed the curse affect someone this way. The rumor/urban legend of what happened to those who were afflicted by it is probably an in-universe inspiration for "The Fly" movies, which remains Rox's least favorite horror/sci-fi movies.

Thanks for the ask @icybreaths, Still not sure if this is sad... Beeyel doesn't really care about the curse now. But as a mortal offspring of Beeyel, who has probably never met their biological father, this prolly has to be a really horrifying and fucked up way to die. So that's where I'm pulling the "sad" from and Beeyel is inflicting the "sad".
