hypothesis, not well supported because I don't remember the dates or anything, and haven't gone looking for them, but I think the icy blonew is because of the televised broadcast of his concert, gotta do something for the impact kinda thing. But maybe he's doing some recording or something too. U never know with the shineemen. even taemin isn't doing like, spoiler-with-capital-S spoilers. Half the time we don't even know it's a spoiler until we look back at it post-facto and go OH SO THAT'S WHAT HE MEANT

That actually makes lots of sense to bring some freshness to his televised concert, like it's probably due to that.
