As you recently posted that you are worried about the third series without Gaitan I would ask some questions. First, what did you thing of the second series *Ecomoda*? What would you want Betty, Armando, et al. to be up to decades later? Are there aspects of the original series you would like to see followed up?
Hiii thanks for the questions!🥰
Tbh, I never watched Ecomoda. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the cute Armando/Betty fluff, but I really saw no point in it (and it always looked so oversaturated with colors that it was unappealing to me lol). So some of the things I'd love to see might have been answered already in Ecomoda and I judt don't know lmao. Although That's also part of my issue with this new coming series!
Regarding what I would like to see, new and continued, and in no particular order, I'd love:
Tributes and/or mentiones of the original cast members that are no longer with us. Perhaps Hugo keeping a portrait of Inesita on his desk and occasionally making comments to it (("ay, Inés, ¿está viendo usted la porquería de puntadas que son estas? No, es que esta gente es alérgica al talento, de verdad" while he's in the middle of one of those tantrums or something before moving on. Just general and occasional comments in a way that leaves the viewer with the sure knowledge that Hugo loves and misses Inesita, and that for him she'll forever be his best friend and she is never forgotten but also not to an unhealthy degree you know??)). Bertha talking about her Gordito on the phone or to the Cuartel (just because the actor passed doesn't mean the character has to, too). Betty mentioning something like Catalina moved to another country or something but that they are still the best of friends and keep in contact often; or Camila saying she's planning to go on vacations with her Aunt Cata for the summer. Just in general, I'd love for this new part to not forget those who participated in the original, and for all the relationships and friendships that were so cute and strong to remain as such in the new one.
Betty and Armando still in love. I want them to be so in love and devoted to each other, but I also want to see them as a team working together in Ecomoda. I also want them to be respected. Maybe the Cuartel is not so aprovechado anymore? Lol
Flashbacks. I want some more details about their lives, things that we missed for the past 20+ years
Clues about the characters' pasts. I want to know Marcela and Armando's childhood. I want to know when Nicolás and Betty became besties. I don't need big full scenes, but a casual mention like, Armando going "oh, sí, yo tenía tu edad cuando...". Just to fill in gaps that the original left (although I'm also fearful of too much info considering Gaitan is no longer the one writing them)
Unfortunately, there are characters that aren't coming back even though the actors are still around. I want to know what happened to Daniel, to Sofia, to Jenny. I want to know what happened to Daniel after being so stupid as to invest every single penny he owned and put it in a proyect that led nowhere lmao. I want to know what happened to Jenny.
I'd love to see Freddy and Jimmy being good friends. Jimmy doesn't have to call him dad, but I want it to be super clear that Freddy basically is and they love each other as father and son (as seen in ysblf). Just imagine their bond now, after so many years! Hopefully Freddy and Aura María are still going strong
I don't remember if Mariana is coming back, but I'd loved to see her actually getting a modeling career like she wanted
I want to see the relationship between Betty and her in laws
I want to see how Marcela came back into their lives (which is honestly baffling and I'm still unsure about this decision, but I understand they had to bring back the iconic duo)
I REALLY don't want Patricia to be redeemed. I don't. She never seemed like she wanted to be redeemed. But if she is, they better give a super good explanation
I also don't want Mario redeemed lmao. I hope he still is the hedonistic womanizer with no sense of morality. Again, I don't think he wanted to be redeemed.
In general, my only three real expectations are: Betty and Armando still together, good and faithful characters, and a good story. I really don't see the need (besides money lmao) to bring it back, so I'm not having much hopes ((especially regarding the characters. I really hope they aren't further flanderized!))
Thank you for your question🥰🥰

Ok I watched It. It wasn't that bad but man, they really killed my man Daniel Valencia....... A lot of characters in this are death, some I understand but Daniel? I feel like he still had antagonistic potential, I'm not feeling this new guy Marcela brought (also he vapes, It destroys his serious bad boy persona, he Will never have the swag and presence Daniel had lol)
Camila Is the most pedantic character ever, of course they write her like this so she can have a character arc, but that doesn't make her less annoying tbh. Seeing Betty like this makes me so sad. She lost her job, her family, her daughter for a company that doesn't respect her... Everytime Camila talks about Betty, It makes my blood boil.
Hugo dress was ugly but he's right about Camila lol, same as Ignacio. Sorry but they'll never make me side with a #NepoBaby
Sandra queer Icon, I love you. Still best member of the cuartel 🥳 such a shame Mariana Is not here anymore because I shipped these two so hard, but choosers can't be beggars I guess
Theory Time: Daniel Valencia was innocent and was framed by both Armando and Mario for the shady busisness they hinted in EP2
Until next week ✌️
#yo soy betty la fea#post0400#I have to make a confesion here first: I'm not a fan of most stranged daughter/mother plots#because most of the time. is Women being shamed for doing what most fathers do#dedicating time to their carrers. I doubt Armando was more at home than Betty but of course#a women being anything other than motherly? shamefull sin#so unless they reveal that Betty was botherline neglecful. I'm not siding with Camila#I want to have a open mind because this is not the 2000 anymore and of course the series has to adapt to modern sensibilities#I'm going in with very low expectations#I had a decent time at least

Thinking about rumors about new season
1. I like the idea of Mario becoming more of a villain, bc if Armando loses his memories that means Mario has more space in his life and more capacity for influence on him after YEARS without doing that
And this man LOVE'S control
2. Marcela helping Betty. I MEAN perfectly sense they got a better relationship after 20 yrs. But if I was Marcela my first thought was: "BITCH WHY ALWAYS HAVE TO BE A SCHEME WITH YOU GUYS? CAN'T JUST BE NORMAL AND TALK?"
3. Sandra have a girlfriend. WHY NOT BRING BACK MARIANA SO?
4. Camila is a designer. I mean Hugo is still there. He is a mentor? They have more designers in ecomoda now (i doubt that, hugo is such a diva)???
5. Patricia and Nicolas. I mean Patricia is so mean to Nico in YSBLF, but i remember they grew up and he's not having a happy ending. HE'S DESERVE THAT.
In addition, I saw a video when they show the new ecomoda, basically showing us Armando, Hugo, Marcela and Betty office.
And Betty's office is gorgeous but i noticed some details, like magazines on the walls and that make me realize
Betty was in the command of the ecomoda for 20 yrs, the most famous fashion house in Colombia. She's probably a fashion icon. (And I don't realize that information till now)
And I'm thinking about Camila, she knows the entire history of her mother?
One thing is have the acknowledge and see some pictures when your mother was ugly
OTHER THING it's now that your mother suffers A LOT being a ugly woman and YOUR father actively participate on that
#ysblf#im freaking out and i cant stop#but at least it's not a divorce trope#i will LITERALLY DIE if they divorce#i make this post SOOOOOO LONG sorry

Regarding your Betty gaslighting arc post (which is awesome. Your analysis is always so on point and makes me see a new perspective every time), another great thing about these episodes is Mario’s comments that taunt Armando. Just to name a few of his iconic lines:
- She changed a night of lust and passion with you, for a simple dinner with Nicolás Mora
- Her only reward for doing everything (running both Terramoda and Ecomoda) was your kisses and sinister caresses and it turns out that they didn’t work or weren’t as effective as we thought
- When he flat out insinuated that maybe Nicolás was a better lover or well endowed (even more so than him) and that’s why Betty was rejecting him 🤣🤣🤣
- “You stopped wanting Marcela and all women because the company’s problems have taken a toll on your desire for intimacy, but if Betty accepted to spend the night with you, would you do it? Armando’s face is priceless here, and also Mario’s because it’s obvious he didn’t buy his response.
Finally, when he tells him to please snap out of it, that he had to come to terms with what he was feeling because even though it wouldn’t solve anything, it would allow him to clearly see just how screwed up he really was.
He even said some useful things to him. He constantly told him that Betty was testing him which she really was. Like you pointed out, she wanted to see if he followed word by word what was written on the letter to see if there was anything genuine about the things he said and did. One of the reasons she rejects him the night of El Meson de San Diego (aside from dignity) is that she had heard Mario tell him that had to do whatever it took to get her back even if it included sleeping with her. So when he told her he wanted to spend the whole night with her, Betty thought that this was part the plan he and Mario had for that night. Also, the fact that he didn’t guess she knew everything after all the things she told him that night is beyond me.
Anyways, I wish I could have the will and also critical thinking skills to make a huge post about Mario and Armando’s talks during this arc.
I love your blog, honestly.
you're incredibly sweet <3 thank u so much. i feel like im talking at a wall sometimes but it doesn't stop me.
i myself am trying to unravel the armando\mario toxic frenemy of it all, bc there's a lot to unpack. is armando that easy to manipulate? (no). is mario some puppeteer pulling all the strings? (no).
mario's taunts aren't helpful but i think sometimes theyre armando's mouthpiece. i think mario's comments are things that armando's already thinking but wont say aloud and when mario says them, it's like he's verifying those thoughts. it's 'oh ur seeing this too, im not crazy'. but mario isn't coming from a good place when he says them, however mario does push armando to continue to pursue her; pushing that armando doesn't need bc he was already going to do that. but mario telling him to do that makes it a cover for armando, an excuse, a security blanket if u will.
the night of el meson de san diego, betty drops anvil hints. from their argument in the office, fm their conversation in the restaurant, to their huge fight outside. she's incredibly passive aggressive about it but she does try to make it easy on him. in her office when he says 'you broke all the promises' and she says 'oh I broke all the promises? I'M lying to you?'---that was a life jacket, that was a gift. but he stutters. he's willing to believe she has something with nicolas and that nicolas is Bad and he's better than nicolas--armando can't think straight bc his insecurities and his ego are the forefront of it all.
armando that night really did want to talk and fix things bc that's how their relationship was before the letter. the desperation in his voice when he says 'i know if we go back inside and talk calmly we can figure this out'\'okay we'll go someplace else, i want to spend the night, all night with you'---he was trying to gain back their emotional intimacy and u can see betty waiver. she misses him, she misses how it used to be but she doesn't trust him or her heart anymore. and to really stick it to him she says she doesn't desire him. another blow to his ego. (that was a lie btw, bc they were going at it outside and also bc she says in her diary that it pained her to reject him bc she needed him too)
going back to the mario of it all, he's a complicated character we all have very differing opinions about. as i said, im still unravelling my thoughts about him and his relationship with armando. but i dont think it's a black and white as it seems. he's just as complex as marcela.
#anon#ask#ysblf#betty la fea#yeah sorry for ending this on a weird note but im still trying to put to words my thoughts on him#i already wrote a post about mario being a villain but looking back on it i think i was looking at it in black and white sense#when its more nuanced than that#when i figure it out you;ll know#thank u for the message !

3rd day of Pride Month - 2nd LGB history 🏳️🌈
Today is the second day of my "post about one lgb icon/story everyday" thing for Pride Month, and I am gonna talk about the first lesbian wedding in Spain !
It's a quite famous story, but I wanted to talk about it anyway.
Here's the story of Elisa and Marcela !
Marcela Gracia Ibeas and Elisa Sánchez Loriga got married on June 8, 1901, in A Coruña, at Galicia, in Spain. Their marriage was the first homosexual marriage in Spain since the Roman imperial era (though some documents were found, proving that two men got married in Spain in 1061, I'll talk about it in another post !) and happened more than 100 years before the country legalized homosexual marriages !
To achieve this, Elisa disguised herself as a man, and adopted a male identity, Mario Sánchez, which is the name on their marriage certificate. Their lie was later discovered, but their marriage was never annulled, and they remained married for the rest of their lives.
Here's a picture of them after their wedding :
There is a very good movie on Netflix, called Elisa y Marcela, that tells their story. I watched it and liked it a lot, though there are some little criticisms to be made, and if you're interested, you should watch it too! I really enjoyed it and will probably watch it a lot of other times.
Note that there are some differences between the movie and the real story, and if you watch if, I think you should also read their true story, like reading their Wikipedia page. But the biggest part of the movie (except 1-2 details and the end) is pretty accurate, so if you want to watch it and to discover their whole story like that, don't read the end of this post ! I'll tell their story in details here. Keep reading only if you don't want to watch the movie/don't care about already knowing the entire story before watching it.
youtube
▪︎
The two young women meet at the Teacher Training College in A Coruña, where future primary school teachers are trained. Eighteen-year-old Marcela is studying there, while twenty-three-year-old Elisa is working there after completing the same course. They become friends, and then lovers. Marcela's parents, fearing scandal, send their daughter to continue her studies in Madrid, but it's not enough to end their love story. Marcela is appointed teacher in Vimianzo, in the village of Calo, while nearby Elisa works as a temporary replacement in Couso, a small parish in Coristanco in the province of A Coruña. They decide to live together in Calo, until 1889, the year in which Marcela leaves to teach in Dumbría while Elisa stays in Calo. The two keep in touch, writing to each other, until Elisa joins Marcela.
They live their love for years, hiding their relationship, until they have had enough, and decide to hatch a plan to get married.
In 1901, Elisa adoptes a masculine appearance and applies to the College of Education under the name of Mario. She creates a past for herself based on a cousin who died in a shipwreck, claims to have spent her childhood in London with an atheist father. She gets baptized as Mario on May 26, 1901 and gets her First Communion under the same idendity.
The couple gets married on June 8, 1901, after publication of the banns. A short wedding ceremony is performed before witnesses, and the couple spends their wedding night in the Corcubión guesthouse on Calle de San Andrés - Elisa and Marcela are officially the first spanish homosexual couple to get married since the Roman imperial era, their plan was a success.
Unfortunately, the villagers begin to have doubts, and realize that this marriage is what they call "a marriage without a man".
The Galician and Madrid press reports the case, the two women lose their jobs, are excommunicated and placed under arrest.
Here's a picture of them after their arrest :
Elisa tries to pass herself off as intersex (using the term hermaphrodite at the time) when a doctor checks whether she's male or female, to no avail. Despite this, and the Civil Guard's attempts to prosecute them, their marriage was never annulled, and the two lovers manages to escape. Their story becomes famous in Spain and many other European countries.
(Un matrimonio sin hombre = a marriage without a man)
After that, we don't know what happened to them. The last thing we know fore sure about them is that they embarked on a ship bound for South America - perhaps Argentina, like so many other Spaniards of the time, where they spent their honeymoon and settled.
But in 2008, a book, Elisa e Marcela – Alén dos homes (Elisa and Marcela – Beyond men), by Narciso de Gabriel, was published in A Coruña, and tells their story from 1901 to 1904. It narrates the events in Porto, Portugal, where they were imprisoned, tried, and later released. They fled to Argentina after the Spanish government demanded their extradition from Portugal. The book tells that before leaving Porto for the Americas, Marcela gave birth to a girl - I couldn't find any other information about that. It also tells that after they landed in Buenos Aires, Elisa (under the alias of Maria) married Christian Jensen, a wealthy immigrant from Denmark 24 years her senior, in 1903 and that Marcela, under the alias of Carmen, pretended to be her sister and stayed there with her daughter.
Elisa refused to consummate the marriage with Jensen. He grew suspicious and tried to have the marriage annulled on the grounds that Elisa wasn't, in fact, a woman. This claim was never substantiated: Three medical examinations confirmed that Elisa was a woman.[11] Since the marriage was between a man and a woman, and therefore valid, no charges were brought against Elisa. After this time, there is no further record of Marcela and Elisa. Still according to this book, Elisa refused have sex with Jensen, who grew suspicious and tried to have the marriage annulled on the grounds that Elisa wasn't, in fact, a woman. It didn't work : three medical examinations confirmed that Elisa was a woman, and since the marriage was between a man and a woman, and therefore valid, no charges were brought against Elisa. After this time, there is no further record of Marcela and Elisa - though some sources claim that Elisa killed herself in 1909.
I'm sorry if some things aren't very clear - sometimes the sources I've found contradict each other, and there are differences in information between French (I'm French), Spanish and English sources. Sometimes even the same source says two different things. I've done my best, and I hope what I've written isn't too far from the truth.
This is a very interesting sorry, that is very, very important in LGB history, and I encourage you all to do your own research, read the book and watch the film! Personally, I'm very happy to have discovered this story, which I like very much.
See you tomorrow for another story/lgb icon :)

Emoji fanfic ask
❌🛒🥺⛔️
⛔ Do you have a fic you started, but scrapped?
ohoho, so many. ive posted excerpts from a few on ao3, such as the gwourtney tdwt rewrite that i scrapped & the trent comes back to tdwt instead of duncan au that i only wrote one chapter for. the rest are locked away in my files and seldom looked at.
there's a fic for a new season back on the island that takes place a year or so after tdrr with all new challenges that i gave up on after like two and a half chapters (nemma was the main couple for that one to give you a sense of how long ago i wrote it lol).
there's a tdas fic from alejandro noah courtney and gwen's povs (guess what the main ships are...) that i planned out extensively and then started writing for that i haven't worked on in years, probably because the actual writing of it didn't seem nearly as good as the planning did.
there's a really old gwent & nemma fic that i think was an au of the black friday musical? idk what i was thinking. it was bad. it was nonsensical and it was bad.
and then there was this whole high school au that mostly focused on the theatre department and was absolutely based on my high school that was a hyperspecific flavor of weird (us students described it as a combination of a summer camp and a cult so uh... i guess that isn't too far off from tdi).
there was also a post tdrr season i planned out that took place on a cruise ship and contestants competed in trios? i read the one and only chapter i wrote for that and apparently alejandro had a younger sister named marcela who is honestly kind of an icon lol i should bring her back for a different fic or something.
and pretty much assume that for every season of total drama, i had at least one rewrite planned that i eventually abandoned. honestly it's sort of a long term goal of mine to write my own version of every season of td. i've got tdwt with slippery slopes, tdrr with amicus curiae, and eventually tdi with the courtney time travel au. we'll see how long that takes lmao it's already been over a year and i'm like 40% done at the most.
❌ What's a trope you will never write?
probably any kind of soulmate au. i just don't like the idea of a romance that's so predestined that there isn't any real development between the characters. i like to read and write feelings growing organically, and when the characters instantly lock eyes and have this automatic deep connection it just feels very artificial to me. that's not to say that all soulmate aus are like that, and there's actually one or two (non td) that i enjoy and regularly reread.
but i think to write a soulmate au i would need a very strong plot revolving around soulmarks and whatnot and i would rather just have the plot without the soulmates. i feel like the concept of soulmates implies that there's only one person a character can have a meaningful relationship with and once they find that person the relationship will be perfect.
i like reading/writing about the struggles that come with making the choice to be with someone you love without any certainty that they'll be your perfect person forever. the fact that you don't have that certainty but choose to stay and foster a relationship and have that hope for a bright future together makes it a lot more meaningful to me. i also feel like soulmate aus tend to prioritize romance much higher than friendship and those are two kinds of relationships that i like to place on equal ground in my writing.
im not trying to say that all soulmate aus are bad, or that ppl shouldn't enjoy them. they can absolutely be some people's jam and if it makes you happy then go for it! there are definitely tropes i like that other people don't for valid reasons and that's all okay.
thanks for the ask!

just watched all of 01011001 live that i could find on youtube and i have Thoughts
i'm going to put most of my thoughts under the cut out of a concern for spoilers, but then again these are all accessible on youtube~
!! there are a Lot of flashing lights so just a warning in case you're planning on watching the videos !! (hoping the official release will have better audio/video quality) the ones with the fewest flashing lights (that i found on yt) are beneath the waves and waking dreams, river of time has lights but they're more sweep-y than flashy
OKAY THOUGHTS SCREAMING CRYING GOING FERAL
i swear every song i thought "wow i wish i was there rn"
it was hard to tell who was who but aside from the original cast i think it was - john jaycee cuijpers as forever 𓅛 (originally jørn lande), mike mills as forever ☯ (originally steve lee), damian wilson as forever ✵ (originally bob catley), and brittney slayes as forever Ω (originally floor jansen). they all give such fantastic performances you could say brittney slayed
also some lines were given to different characters, but then again the characters aren't supposed to be very distinct
the violin on age of shadows!!!
the energy in the "no more aggression / no more relationships" section!!! aaaAAAA
damian on comatose!!! the e m o t i o n
OH BUT THE FLUTE VIOLIN DUET??
the flute and violin on liquid eternity!!!
maggy luyten got more lines let's goo
the vibes and atmosphere in beneath the waves are immaculate
the anneke/jonas combination is iconic as always
i have a new appreciation for ride the comet wow and that guITAR though
the interlude in waking dreams made me transcend a dimension at least
unnatural selection is actually insane (! heavy flash warning !) also the ensemble is fantastic on this one
the irene/marcela chorus though!!!
love the visuals during the "we gave them [thing] what did they do?" breakdown
visuals on river of time omg
jeroen give me your flute skills please
e=mc². it's good. it's very good
okay WOW WHWHWHWH i wish i could have seen the sixth extinction live hrhhh
the audience singing along to "the meaning of life is to give life meaning" and "stop the machines prepare to die" gave me chills fjdkfjdkf
mike mills: "restore the balance between thinking *points at damian's brain* and feeling *points at damian's heart*" lmao
the mars imagery the mARS IMAGERY
THE THE
THE
THE FINALE??????
I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY EYE OF RA'D THE ENDING I AM AAAAUGHHHH
I N S A N I T Y
arjen's speech,,,,,, precious man
this human equation is also really sick! lmaoing at the huge emphasis on "UNIVERSAL MIGRATIOOOOONNN"
they performed the day that the world breaks down live! absolute madlads oml AND with the 01 cast,,,, i am theorizing,,,
i am lowkey (highkey) hoping that there will be a source live someday, i have VISIONS on how that could be translated theatrically (and yk. that if so i'll actually be able to attend lmao)
#ayreon#01011001#arjen lucassen#ayreon live#beneath the waves live#i have been feral about this all weekend

Any good queer movie recs? As✨GAY✨ as possible! 🏳️🌈
Oh boy okay here we go
- Fanfiction: it came out like a week or two ago on Netflix and it’s sooooo good like why is no one talking about it😭 trans + gay rep (TW mental health)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Elisa & Marcela: such a gorgeoussss movie, it’s about the two first women who got married in Spain in 1901 even though it was illegal
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- But I’m a cheerleader: probably one of my all times favourite queer movies, it’s absolutely adorable and hilarious, it’s a comedy about a girl who gets sent to a conversion therapy camp (and that’s how she realises she’s a lesbian) (edit i rewatched this a couple of days ago and it really is awesome, even better than I remembered I absolutely love it bfkzidjskdk)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Pride: now this one doesn’t have a main romance but it’s only gays and lesbians and miners striking against Thatcher AND IT IS SO GOOD IT’S MY FAV MOVIE EVER PLEASE GO WATCH IT SO I CAN TALK ABOUT IT WITH SOMEONE please you have to it’s soooo good like so so so so good you have no idea
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Carol: this one is pretty famous but it really IS a very good and iconic lesbian romance
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Prom: this one is a musical, it’s not for everyone but I personally really enjoyed it, it has lesbian teenage romance and several other queer characters (if I remember correctly)
⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Imagine me and you: also a very very very awesome amazing sapphic movie that I absolutely love, basically it’s about a woman who’s getting married to her boyfriend but falls instantly in love (literally during the wedding) with the woman doing the flower arrangements
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Fear street: this is a horror trilogy (so careful if you don’t like scary/bloody movies) and it is AWESOME I actually don’t usually particularly like horror but I’ve watched these twice they were so good (with a main sapphic ship)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Wish you: I watched this with one of my friends who loves everything Korea related cause we thought it sounded gay and it actually is gay!!!! So yes it’s a pretty sweet boy love
⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Call me by your name: I know this is like everyone’s favourite queer movie but I actually didn’t love it that much- don’t get me wrong it’s definitely a very good movie and I get why people love it but I guess it’s just not for me, but as that’s just my personal opinion I do recommend it anyway!
⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Portrait of a lady on fire: this one is also pretty famous but it really is that good! Beautiful sapphic love story
⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Love, Simon: based on the novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, it’s really good and there’s a spin-off show (Love, Victor) that I personally love even more! (Currently rewatching it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- The half of it: it’s basically a modern and queer remake of Cyrano de Bergerac and it’s really really good
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Crush: I can’t remember much about the plot cause I watched this quite a while ago but it’s a fun high school romantic comedy but make it sapphic :)
⭐️⭐️⭐️
[edit: thought of a couple more :)
- Alex Strangelove: don’t remember much about the plot (I tend to mix it up with Love, Simon for some reason) but I do remember liking it, it’s a fun, gay rom com (I think?) wow maybe I should rewatch it if I’m so unsure about the story lmao
⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Beats per minute: (it’s French, the original title is « 120 battements par minute ») absolutely incredible mind blowing beautiful heart wrenching stunning amazing perfect emotional raw educational masterpiece. Cannot recommend this enough. (I watched it for the first time a couple of days ago, it had been on my list of gay movies I need to watch for years and I am so happy I finally watched it) anyway it’s about the aids crisis and it’s so so so so so so so so so so so so good please watch it
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️]
That’s all I can think of for now! There are obviously lots of other queer movies (I really need to watch more, but I must admit I like watching series more)… also if you have Instagram I recommend the account queer cinema archives which posts really interesting analyses of queer coded or explicitly queer scenes in the history of cinema, and there’s also an account called lesbian cinema which posts recommendations of sapphic movies and shows!
Anyway I hope this helps :) I really enjoy making these lists, if you guys have other requests don’t be shy!

Good omens for the fandom ask! :)
oh I am SO glad you asked <3
Marcela's Good Omens:
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
Aziraphale. I think about him 26/7, and the extra 2 hours I actually see him in the 4th dimension after a nightshift. she's everything and I'm just Ken. he's also the sun and the stars and he has a beautiful nose. by god, I would hand-repair that waistcoat
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
Muriel!! not a discovery here. such a baby. but I do approach that sentiment with wariness, because of their autistic undertones (and I've seen some people bringing attention to the babification of "adult" characters for those characteristics. personally, I think all angels are clueless and a little naive, as isolated as they are in Heaven. some of them simply don't let it show). I adore them, the cuteness and chaotic potential is off the charts. let Crowley adopt them already
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
look LOOK it's Mrs. Sandwich actually. I feel like everyone loved her and her brief kinship with Crowley, but she's so underappreciated and should have a least one single uninterrupted scene to herself, is what I'm saying. she's an icon.
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
*basing on the description because I feel bad calling them glup shitto ksjhsdf
Saraqael - my eyes do a zero point focus whenever they appear on screen. like, what are your motivations. how do you remember Crowley, why did you help him. who allowed you to be so chill in Heaven, Heaven isn't chill? what do you know. what is your plan. it also helps that Liz Caar is an amazing actress and I would watch anything she's in
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
i feel like that's not the definition I know of "poor little meow meow" - it's more like, I love them, but they are so wet and pathetic? so. the very special way Crowley breaks down during the fire at the bookshop and then when he's so drunk he thinks he's hallucinating Aziraphale. the saddest wettest snake moment. he's so devastated i'm almost surprised he doesn't meow. he needs a hug so bad
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
ngl I want Eric (the disposable demon) destroyed in every way possible besides actual holy water stuff. he needs to keep coming back like a cockroach, it's one of my favourite gags in the show
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
hey remember the utter Asshole of S1? I'd send him to superhell so he could have the time of his life with his future flyspouse and speedrun the resignation letter process. but also, because he deserves it. it would fix him. that was fun <3 if you wanna send me an off-anon ask with your username I'll tag you too!!

Reflections on Art and Education: Shaping Social Change” with Jacqueline de Montaigne and Marcela Nacif
On a beautiful September morning, CreativeMornings Lisbon drew an impressive crowd to the stunning Jardim das Oliveiras at the Centre Cultural de Belem. Making the most of the Portuguese autumn sun, guests mingled in the garden set against the backdrop of the Tagus River and iconic Ponte 25 de Abril, one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.
A Saturday morning edition didn’t deter the creatives who turned out for one of our biggest meetings, with delicious empanadas served alongside energy drinks by @SAVG and coffee by Lavazza to keep those attending nourished and refreshed before our talk began. As the presentation opened, we learned this month’s global theme, chosen by the Oklahoma chapter of CreativeMornings: Reflection.
The speakers in Lisbon would share their unique reflections on art, education and social change. The first speaker, Marcela of Brave Generation Academy, took us on a journey through her vision for education. She believes a change is necessary and that initiatives, creative thinking and technology are the way to deconstruct our concept of what “education” means.
Four years ago, Brave Generation Academy – an NGO set up to make education more effective and successful - created a hub, led by people who believed education needs to change. Instead of having a building with classrooms, they realised (thanks to technology), you could spread classrooms around the world. Instead of having just one teacher, it might be more helpful to have two: one who looks after the academic curriculum, while the other motivates the best version of the student to emerge. Brave Generation Academy created hubs around the world, with thousands of students in 9 different countries. Learners study online, through a synchronous programme. Brave Generation Academy allows education to be more effective and accessible to learners, and empowers learners who couldn’t access education before, to see it’s not that hard to make education accessible. “We realised we can democratise education. If you have internet access and the will to learn, you can.”
The idea, Marcela explained, was to not make profit, but to convert cashflow into scholarships so anyone who wanted to go could attend. And so, over 300 entry scholarships were created, alongside non-profit initiatives including a not-for-profit hub. The ethos of BGA centers the students. Their projects include a hub in a refugee camp in Kenya, a program for students from Gaza, and a refugee camp in Congo. For those who are fleeing war and trauma, underfunded education systems that offer little prospects are not uncommon. By teaching refugees digital skills, in a hub that fosters a sense of community while following an internationally recognised curriculum, Brave Generation Academy helps to empower learners to build their own path: taking control of the learning process at their own pace. Marcela then posed an important question: Without educated young people, who will rebuild countries that have been torn apart by war? Without them, perhaps no one. “It’s not that hard to change education, we just have to change our mindset.”
Next, we heard from the artist and activist Jacqueline de Montaigne, who has painted murals around the world: many of which are used in social initiatives. Jacqueline uses guilding in a public way - with a minimal amount of paint, reducing the eco footprint – to tell stories through symbolism. Her art brings natural and figurative elements to an urban context, to create a fascinating juxtaposition of (what we might think of as) opposing forces.
Although she grew up in a household of activists, her journey as one began upon the birth of her second son. There was no one in the hospital that could help to provide guidelines or evidence-based information about baby feeding. Through this experience Jacqueline became involved with social change at a policy level, to help change national guidelines and train national forces in how to feed minors in the event of a national emergency. Her activism focused upon the correct marketing and labelling of baby formula products, while her artistry has seen her paint murals to raise awareness about breastfeeding.
Jacqueline has also painted refugee camps with educational murals, which break through language barriers. Her work with murals began when she painted a small one at Lisbon’s Lx Factory, and she discovered she was hooked. She decided to use this medium as a platform for social good, to bring awareness to issues using non-invasive paste-ups that can be removed by sponging off afterwards. She was the first Portuguese woman to be ranked globally for her mural painting. However, during her presentation Jacqueline also brought our attention to the challenges faced by women who want to become full-time artists: less than 3% of artists can afford to live off their work, and in the global market, less than 2% of work is allocated to women. But she left us on a hopeful note, as her work has led her around the world, having special interactions with normal people who have become the muses of her murals. “Regardless of age, there’s nothing to stop you following your dreams. The impact we can have on other people’s lives is massive.” And with that, our CreativeMornings guests returned to the sunny Lisbon afternoon a little lighter.
