I was highly expecting for Lady Gaga to land a Vogue cover and here we are, covering the October issue of the American Vogue. The photoshoot, which is highly inspired by her role as Harley Quinn in "Joker: Folie à Deux", was lensed by Ethan James Green.

Gaga is working it in a bi-colored statuesque coat seen on Yohji Yamamoto‘s Fall/Winter 2024 "A Seamless Parable on Cubism" runway.

Gaga is the first ever person to wear this vintage Givenchy by Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 1999 "Execution of Lady Jane Grey" Haute Couture chinoiserie embroidered silk balloon sleeve coat and bespoke black dress, both sourced from LILY et Cie.

In 1999, McQueen was going through, in his own words, "an emotional turmoil" both professionally and personally. But instead of relieving himself, he ventured into his own despair to understand his inner demons more poignantly. This painful journey led Lee to Paul Delaroche’s tragic but beautiful 1833 painting, "The Execution of Lady Jane Grey".

Like a painter to a blank canvas, McQueen filled an empty room with extravagant offerings: romantic silk ensembles with floral embroidery, 16th-century fur-trimmed tunics, luxurious velvet coats, as well as the designer’s signature leather suits, cowl-neck dresses, and even a heightened-for-couture bouffant piece that paid homage to his plaid.

Dialing in on his inspiration, McQueen presented his clothes not on models but on fiber-glass-headed mannequins that emerged from trap doors in batches, as if the audience were in an art gallery rather than a fashion show.

okay so the thing about gay led zeppelin lore is that it is basically a pyramid scheme you need to get into it via word of mouth because to my knowledge there's not a compendium of robert plant faggotry or anything unfortunately. however have some resources under the cut 👀

in the houses of the holy by susan fast is a super interesting essay about led zeppelin's music and makes a lot of compelling points wrt the queerness of their performances, but obviously that's not an account of actual gay shit that they did off stage.

OH of course there's the infamous 1975 lisa robinson article for creem source of many an iconic moment in in gay zep herstory and also the even more infamous 1975 cameron crowe interview for rolling stone which has a bit less gay shit but is very iconic because of who cameron crowe is.

you could probably do well with reading a biography — i haven't yet bothered reading richard cole's or stephen davis's because they are by most reliable accounts full of shit, but i did really like trampled under foot by barney hoskyns, which is lowkey as gay as it could get in a book where the actual members of zep are interviewed.

other than that there's just SO many miscellaneous bits and bobs of lore floating around (one of my favourite ones is the week-long trip to dominica the two of them took alone to visit jimmy's friend and beat poet royston ellis) that you just sort of acquire as you get deeper into it lmao. honestly this is going to sound insane but one of the easiest ways to acquire gay zep lore is to read fanfiction because i swear these authors are actual unpaid historians. there's been several times that i have read a fic and been like oh that was so creative and then found out it was 99% based on historical record (with the 1% being anal sex) down to jimmy having an aquarium when he was in art school or whatever the fuck. i would absolutely love to give you some fic recs if you dm me!

4. Best game soundtrack (full album or single track)?

Don’t do this to me… an actually impossible question to answer 😂 persona has too many good songs to list, the NieR franchise’s music is mindblowing in intent and construction, Toby Fox exists, the SMT V soundtrack has some absolute bangers that have been on repeat for me, Katamari, the Mother games, Omori, TWEWY, Kinkdom Hearts, Zelda, not to mention the ones that are purely iconic like Mario’s theme or one winged angel. But yeah, I listen to video game music a normal amount.

25. Favorite environment in a game?

The Coral Highlands/Rotten Vale in Monster Hunter World. I remember my jaw dropping the first time I went to the Coral Highlands in MHW… you get all the beauty and color and life of an underwater level without any of the irritating gameplay changes, it’s a win win 🥳🥳🥳 and then you travel further down from those gorgeous pinks and whites and enter the Rotten Vale, this disgusting, rotting, effluvial graveyard where all that beauty goes to die is such a cool dichotomy and a rare moment of like, good narrative theming in a monster hunter game 😂 you have to fight this monster called a Legiana, who is the apex Monster of the Coral Highlands (( the toughest beastie around during this part of MHW )), an ice wyvern who you have plot based beef with for knocking you into the Coral Highlands to begin with. For me anyways, the Legiana was also the second difficulty wall in the game (( after that damn flame Trex in the first world 😤 )) so I had a lot of herstory with her, but when exploring the rotten vale you’ll sometimes find the corpse of one just chilling there. Even the strongest of monsters die, and when they do they’re nothing but meat to the scavengers of the Rotten Vale. Super cool areas and very excited for MH: Wilds 🥰

29. Favorite childhood game?

Probably the first Super Smash Bros… it was the first game I could consistently beat my older sister at and the first inkling I had that it was possible to be GOOD at doing something, a high I’ve been chasing ever since 🥴
