This volume sees the reintroduction of Caesar, the prince who first appeared in volume 8 and hasn't been seen since. I liked Caesar back when he was introduced. He had pretty good chemistry with Katarina, and to be honest, anyone is better than Jeord. I found him pretty boring here. He just feels like yet another character who's in love with Katarina but isn't going to do anything while she's engaged to Jeord. We already have several other characters like that and he doesn't bring anything new to the table.

Overall, I once again found most of this volume to be boring. I just was not interested in what was going on in most scenes and a lot of narration felt like it could have been cut. The best part of the volume was when Maria meets Caesar and is immediately protective of Katarina, and one thing that happens in the climax of the volume that made the volume feel worth it. But so much of this volume felt like fluff to extend the volume. I probably wouldn't mind it as much if that fluff was with the characters that I care about but it's not. Also, this volume mentions that Katarina had an older brother in her past life that she still holds dear and the volume tries to have some emotional content with that but it falls flat because I'm 95% sure that older brother has not been mentioned before this volume so I don't really buy that he was that important to her.

This volume might actually be my last Hamefura volume. I was bored more than I was interested and there was something that happened in the last chapter that reinforced Jeord's lack of interest in Katarina's consent and boundaries, and the likelihood that he is endgame. I feel like I'm not getting enough out of this series anymore to justify continuing it. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if I forgot all about my dissatisfaction with this volume by the time the next one comes out. We shall see.

Yuri Anime 'Whisper Me a Love Song' Announce April 13 Debut; HIDIVE to Simulcast

Last Friday, an announcement posted to the official website for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Eku Takeshima's Whisper Me a Love Song (Sasayaku You ni Koi o Utau) revealed that the series will premiere on April 13. Additionally, on Wednesday, Sentai Filmworks announced that it has licensed the anime and will stream the anime internationally on HIDIVE.

Whisper Me a Love Song follows first-year high school student Himari Kino, who, at a welcome ceremony, witnesses Yori Asanagi singing and instantly falls in "love." She immediately confesses her admiration to Yori, who misinterprets Himari's feelings as romantic. However, once she realizes her mistake, Yori swears that she will make Himari fall for her for real.

The release date announcement also included a new key visual (above) and information about the opening and ending themes. Whisper Me A Love Song's opening theme, "Follow your arrows," is performed by the fictional band SSGIRLS from the anime and sung by Kana Sasakura, who provides the singing voice for main character Yori Asanagi.

Sentai Filmworks will simulcast the anime exclusively on HIDIVE in North America, Australia, the the British Isles. The North American premiere will be screened at Anime Boston 2024 on March 29.

The anime, which was delayed from its initially announced January premiere, is directed by Akira Mano at Cloud Hearts and Yokohama Animation Laboratory. Mano replaced the initially announced director, Xin Ya Cai, due to "health reasons." Character designer Minami Yoshida and script supervisor Hiroki Uchida join Mano.

The anime stars Hana Shimano as Himari Kino and Asami Seto as Yori Asanagi. Additional cast includes:

After saying this, when I swiftly got up from the sofa I was sitting on, the scenery around me spun dizzily, and I inadvertently staggered.

After I, Katarina Claes, had staggered, my maid-in-waiting Anne sighed a little while helping me. As I was looking at her tired face, I dazedly wondered how things turned out like this.

Today was the birthday of the twin princes of this country. Since it was the year of their 15th birthday and debut in high society, a magnificent ball was held at the castle.

Since I was engaged to one of the twin princes, Geordo Stuart, I was naturally invited to this party and attended it with Geordo as my escort.

When I talked about it to Anne tending to me, for some reason, she looked at me with eyes like she had seen something sad.

Last chapter, it seemed like Aki was thinking about the deadline Shiho set.

Once the festival ends, she'll have to fulfill her end of the deal and respect Shiho's wishes.

Of course, this was made with Shiho believing Lorelei won't lose. I don't know if Aki got anxious because she just wasn't confident enough that SSGIRLS would win but, overall, it seems like whether they win or lose, Aki wants to have a proper talk that they probably won't get to do after the competition.

If Shiho wins, ties would completely cut. If Aki wins, she'll probably finally hear about her hidden feelings but I doubt Shiho would want to have anything to do with her afterwards. Once she coughs up the real reason she left SS, depending on how the situation turns out, Shiho might keep avoiding her like the plague.

Maybe Aki realized that whether they win or lose, any attempts at some form of proper closure would be out of reach because Shiho is adamant at leaving their past behind.

Now, if the talk between them goes well, no matter how the competition turns out, they'll probably be able to accept the outcome and fulfill their end of the deal.

Of course, at the end of the day, I won't shut up about how I want them to be happy together lmao😂

This is such a fuuuun yuri!! It's the prime example of "cute girls doing cute things"!

I've been meaning to get this physically for a while and I finally got around to it. I love how it's lighthearted but you can feel the love the main characters hold for each other. There's no major dramas and it starts as an established relationship so if you're looking for something that starts differently beware of that. However, I would still recommend this to everyone who loves cute things and cute girls because it's really, really nice.

The art is wonderful and super cute (I wonder how many times I'll write cute today...) and I love seeing the character's different expressions, especially Ichiko, she's suuuper expressive and it's adorable 🥺 I love Kuran's personality as the more quiet/composed but ever so loving girlfriend who's always there to support Ichiko. I really love how their relationship is portrayed, it feels like a nice and genuine teenager love, the kind where you just want to be with each other and do all kinds of things, free of worries.

I'm excited to see what new and fun things they get up to in the next volume, and I really hope an English publisher picks this up in the future. More people in the world should witness how cute this is!!! 🌈

A summary of Nobuyuki Shioda's thoughts as the writer for SMTIV's World Analyze and SMTIVA's Setting Materials

SMTIV World Analyze (published under Ichijinsha) was the second Megaten book that Shioda made since becoming a freelancer. Although it was under a different publisher, he personally thought of World Analyze as a book that continued the ideas of World Guidance.

Apparently it wasn't a big success, so it didn't continue. However, making this book and interviewing Kazuyuki Yamai led to his later works like "A Journey to the Mythical World", so he was glad for the opportunity.

For SMTIVA Setting Materials + a Journey to the Mythical World, Shioda would set up one day on the story and worldview, and another day on the illustrations and designs, and listened carefully to what the game creators had to tell. This method in making books has been a continuing policy since "Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner World Guidance". The spoilery cover was on purpose.

When it was being serialized on the official SMTIVA website, there were no plans to compile "A Journey to the Mythical World" into a book. The SMTIVA artbook was originally only planned as a collection of official setting materials but since Shioda was the one designated to make it anyway, he thought he might as well include an updated version (it got approved with Atlus's permission).

Shioda considers it a very memorable work because he was directly commissioned by Atlus after making Megaten-related books for many years. He's grateful the book was available for purchase for a long time since late books tend to have a short shelf life. While artbooks often keep their text brief and are treated more as an art catalog, Shioda himself is more fond of long explanations and encourages fans to support Megaten books so interviews with the creators and breakdowns of the myths depicted can be made more frequently.
