Aubrey: Kel is.. one of the most important people in my life. After Mari died I felt so alone, Hero and Sunny hadn’t left their houses in so long, I hung out with Basil until… something happened. The only person I really saw out and about, was Kel. He always seemed so happy, he was always cheerful and always outgoing. It made me so angry, how could he be so happy after what happened?

Aubrey: I hated him for it.

Aubrey: one day in class I saw Kel staring at me, I don’t think he realized I noticed it. I could feel his eyes on me the entire time, it was so annoying I considered just skipping the class. When the bell rang, I tried to get out as quick as possible but then Kel called my name to get my attention. It was… weird, it had been so long since Kel had said my name.

Aubrey: that was the first day we started hanging out again and we kept hanging out almost everyday after that. I hadn’t felt happy like that in a while, hanging out with Kel again felt like old times again. It felt like nothing had changed, except both of us had changed a lot.

Aubrey: He’s helped me so much over the past few years, with so many of my own issues and he’s been so supportive no matter what. I used to be so upset at him for being able to just smile at everything while I was still so angry, but now I admire his ability to do that no matter. I don’t know where I’d be right now if he hadn’t walked up to me on that day.
