Attention to all those who care about immigrant rights - this young man, Mauricio Escobar, was taken by ICE just days before his wedding to his fiancée, Verenice. She struggled through tears to tell their story at a recent protest in Boston, and I’d love to get their story out there. He was working for a boss that repeatedly held back his checks, and the boss’s taunting led to an altercation. The boss called the cops on Mauricio, and even though a court found Mauricio’s actions justified, ICE was outside waiting to take him. His mother and fiancée are devastated and worried sick.
