Indian Customs Electronic Commerce or Electronic Data Interchange (EC/EDI) Gateway (ICEGATE) is a government portal that provides e-filings facilities to trade and cargo carriers and other clients from the Customs Department. ICEGATE links 15 broad types of partners with Customs EDI through message exchanges that lead to faster Customs Clearance and facilitates EXIM Trade.

  Digital Signature Certificates are easy to be used on ICEGATE (Indian Customs EDI Gateway) portal. Indian Customs EDI Gateway (ICEGATE) helps the user to register their organizations on the Indian Customs EDI system website. All the individuals, whether they are any Importers/Exporters/CHAs/Airlines/Shipping Agents etc. or any trade partners (Banks, Custodians/FSSAI, etc.) or Government Agencies (DGFT/Ministry of Steel, etc.), connect ICEGATE for document filing, data sharing under Customs Business Process or for administrative, statistical, and analytical or political purpose.

Types of ICEGATE registration
Registration for the ICEGATE Partnership ICEGATE partnership registration is completed through the ICEGATE government website. Online documents can be filed through ICEGATE partnership registration (but not through streamlined auto registration). To join the ICEGATE Partnership program, go to the ICEGATE portal and click the "sign up" option. When you sign up, you will be routed to the ICEGATE partnership registration.
2. ICEGATE Simplified Registration. A Simplified Auto Registration on ICEGATE is required to entice importers and exporters to register on ICEGATE and provide them with a variety of information services, including reports.
Currently, IEC registration is permitted via the ICEGATE site using a Digital Signature, but approval is necessary. These registered IEC holders can submit papers using ICEGATE.
Simplified Auto Registration is based on IEC and GSTIN, and it requires an OTP for email and phone verification.
