Ponytober Day 9: Princess!

We are entering the double digits of Ponytober and i spent most of tonight SUPER busy so i had only enough time to do the lineart for this one before i got swamped with activites. But i finished it and another Mane 6 member makes her appearance in my artstyle!

Here's a fun fact: i've only ever drawn Twilight once before in my life and it was in a very different artstyle while i was trying to figure out how i wanted my ponies to look around a year and a half ago! i hope i did her justice :D

Woah more MLP x Spyro

King Sombra was locked away in ice after being defeated by guardians Celestia and Luna, but has returned to destroy the Crystal Dragons and their ruler, Cadence.

Okay this one was a little more weak sauce cause let’s be so so real here

There’s not a lot to work with with Sombra (or Malefor for that matter…)

But they have being a generic bad-guy in common sooooo

meet my ponysona Mintshine! :] she’s a toothpaste inspired pony ❄️ I made this updated version of her design.

❄️Things I added❄️

-A really soft darker blue gradient on her back, neck and part of her face, a white gradient on her paws, 2 snowflakes on her right paw, darker and thinner highlights on her mane & tail and some snowflakes on her cutie mark. She’s not a crystal pony anymore, she’s more like an ice pony…? Ik that’s not a real thing in mlp but I like the idea of it (she basically can become really cold and “frosty”, like an ice statue). She smells like light blue from dolce & gabbana and mint.

I also made a more specific ref about the design itself, it has no shading and I specified all the things needed about her design.

I was watching some old episodes of MLP:FiM with my daughter before going to bed, and I got hit by a nostalgia so strong, I felt like Chuck Norris himself round kicked me in the face.

So I decided to share from my old DA account my old artworks I did of a crossover I did 10 years ago .

Let me tell you.

I still have my Monster High dolls.

And I still have all my MLP stuff.

I was SO DEEP into both fandoms, I cannot even start to say. (and of course I had ocs for them, I shared Aisling a while ago. I don't know if I shared Ice Crystal tho). Like. Trying to find the episodes online as soon as they were out, the whole "New Lunar Republic" vs "Solar Empire", awaiting DuoCartoonists' updates on their "Children of the Night" fan video with beloved Luna (because damn straight Luna was my favourite girl).

AND OH.

MONSTER HIGH.

CLAWDEEN, ABBEY, OPERETTA, ROCHELLE AND LAGOONA MY BELOVEDS.

I still remember a huge snowfall that got us in Italy in 2012, and my husband (back then still boyfriend) went out in the snow to retrieve a Lagoona Blue "Dawn of the Dance" at the post office just so that I could get it in time for my bday.

Gods.

it seems a lifetime ago.

But those were among the happiest days of my life, and the happiest memories I have!

ANYWAY.

Allow me to share with you this small memento of my journey as an artist! (too bad I never managed to finish it, I got frustrated along the way and never got back to it).

Storm War (mlp AU): character fates & plot changes

The opening of the movie remains the same, up until the invasion scene. Tempest Shadow (aka the Storm Queen in this au)'s plan isn't to enslave pony kind, but to corrupt it using dark magic (aka the Obsidian Orbs from the canon story, but instead of petrifying those it hits, it turns them evil). Starting with the Princesses.

Character Fates:

-Like in canon, Princess Cadence gets taken down first.

-Also like in canon, Princess Celestia manages to tell Luna to "seek help from the Queen of the Hippo(griffs) before being hit.

-Luna manages to escape corruption by performing a last minute duplication illusion spell, allowing her decoy to get hit while she teleports away.

-Fluttershy, Applejack and Spike tragically fall to the orbs' power during the chaos.

-Like in canon, Rainbow Dash manages to whisk Twilight Sparkle out of harms way with her super speed. However, there's a dark twist: unbeknownst to her remaining friends, Twilight still got hit in the neck with a single, minuscule shard. This will come back to bite our heroes later.

-Celestia becomes Daybreaker.

-Cadence becomes Lustful Frost. She feeds off love like a changeling, but possesses ice powers (a reference to her role as Princess of the Crystal Empire).

Plot Differences:

-The main (or should I say mane) heroic cast now comprises of Princess Luna, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Starlight Glimmer. Notice how I didn't include Twilight Sparkle?

-The main reason why the heroes must journey beyond Equestria (other than Celestia's last panicked request towards Luna) is because they literally cannot go to anyPONY else for help. The rest of their own people will inevitably be turned.

-The Kludgetown scene plays out exactly the same as in canon, but with one major difference. Twilight reacts much more viscerally to Capper's betrayal (despite the fact he regrets it) than she normally would. Her friends assume this is just out of stress and fear (due to the whole "we can no longer trust anypony" thing). But Luna isn't so sure.

-The pirate scene also plays out nearly identical, but with the exception of Twilight being far more peeved by Rainbow Dash going into song than in canon. This is very much out of character for her- she LOVES songs! Again, only Luna sees Twilight's behavior as a sign of something nefarious

-When the gang reaches Seaquestria, Queen Novo (a longtime friend of the Royal Sisters) is horrified to hear what happened to Equestria. However, Luna discretely informs her of Twilight Sparkle's increasingly un-Princess of Friendship-ly behavior. Together, they devise a test: have Novo deny aid, and see how the younger Alicorn reacts.

-Sure enough, Twilight uses Pinkie Pie to distract Princess Skystar, so she can try to steal the Pearl of Transformation. However, when she is discovered, she's thrashing in the tendrils which bind her, her eyes manic. Remember that shard which had secretly hit her in the neck? It'd been slowly corrupting her this whole time!

-Luna reveals this to the others, and Queen Novo decides to send Twilight to the surface before she turns fully (for everypony else's safety). Pinkie Pie, being, well, Pinkie Pie, tries to break through to her friend, only to be brought to tears by the following exchange.

PP: "Friends don't leave friends behind when they aren't feeling themselves!"

TS: "Well, then I guess I'd be better off without WEAK FRIENDS LIKE YOU!"

-Twilight is sent away and fully turns into a new, corrupted form. Tempest picks her up shortly afterwards.

-The remaining ponies team up with the Seaponies/Hippogriffs, along with the pirates and Capper (who, as in canon, both survived the destruction of Captain Celaeno's ship), traveling the lands beyond Equestria and recruiting other non-pony races for the coming war.

-Yes, even Discord gets involved. That broken-horned menace corrupted HIS dear Fluttershy!!!

-What follows is a Lord of the Rings style conflict.

-The good guys' ultimate goal is to find and produce a cure for the dark magic which corrupted the ponies of Equestria, and defeat the Storm Kingdom once and for all.

Yksisarvis eliitti pyöriin Icen ympärillä, kuin kärpäset raadolla, yrittäen saada tämän huomion ja parhaassa tapauksessa deittailemaan heidän omaa lastaan. Icen vanhemmat yrittävät suojella poikaansa parhaansa mukaan -  Rarity on aiheuttanut useammankin skandaalin puollustaessaan lastaan : D Seurapiiri skandaali oli taattu, kun yläluokka sai tietää Icen deittailevan "maajussia" (Applejackin poikaa)

- Icen välit siskoihinsa ovat hyvät - hän on itse liian ujo ja hiljainen aiheuttaakseen kaosta, mutta rakastaa olla sivusta seuraajana kaoksessa jonka hänen paljon itsevarmemmat ja suorasanaisemmat pikku siskonsa aiheuttavat, niin seurapiiressä, kuin ystäväpiiressä.  Vaikka yleensä voisi luulla, että iso veli puolustaisi siskojaan, näillä sisaruksilla se menee yleensä toisinpäin - Candy ja Golden tekevät sen idiootin elämästä vaikeaa, joka uskaltaa satuttaa heidän iso veljeään.

- Vaikka Icen vanhemmilla on rahaa kuin roskaa, hän työskentelee viikonloppuisin kirjansitojana - lähinnä korjaillen ja entisöiden vanhoja kirjoja.

- Candy on kaikkea sitä mitä canterlotin yksisarvis eliitti rakastaa ja vihaa samassa pienessä pippurisessa paketissa. Hänellä on kadehdittava määrä taikuutta (niin paljon, että hänen on välillä vaikea hallita sitä), mutta ei oikein ole kiinnostunut mistään taikuuteen liittyvästä - Candy mielummin tekee asiat fyysisesti ja käyttääkin suurta sarveaan monen kauhuksi mm. muiden pukkimiseen pois tieltä, tavaroiden nosteluun ja lävistämiseen. Candy vähät välittää pitä muut hänestä ajattelevat ja elää jokaisen hetkensä kuin huomista ei tulisikaan. Äänekäs, suorapuheinen ja aina valmis vetämään jotakuta pataan.

- Candyn vanhemmat yrittivät opettaa tälle seurapiirin käytöstapoja, mutta antoivat pian periksi ja nyt vain tyytyvät yrittämään minimoida tyttärensä aiheuttamat vahingot.

- Tulee hyvin toimeen Rainbow Dashin keskimmäisen ja Applejackin nuorimmaisen kanssa. Kolmikko onkin Ponyvillen kauhu joka kerta kun Rarity vierailee tapaamassa ystäviään, sillä Candy saa aina vaarallisimmat ideat.

- Tykkäisi harrastaa agressiivisia joukkuepelejä, mutta sarvi tekee tästä ongelman - puhkaisi esiteininä vahingossa ystävänsä silmän pelin tuoksinnassa, eikä ole uskaltanut pelata sen jälkeen.

Golden Coin

- Rarityn ja Capperin tytär. Golden pitää Rarityä ja Fleuria äiteinään ja Fancyä isänään ja Capperin hän näki nuorempana lähinnä hauskana enona, joka vieraili välillä ja toi lahjoja tulleessan - nyt vanhempana heillä on enemmän isä-tytär suhde.

- Puoliksi yksisarvinen ja puoliksi kissa, mutta fyysisesti muistuttaa paljon isäänsä. (omaa hieman taikuutta, mutta joutuu tekemään todella kovasti töitä saadakseen sen esiin)

- Golden on "ruma ankanpoika" canterlotin eliittipiireissä vielä enemmän kuin siskonsa - nuorempana tämä häiritsi häntä, mutta myöhemmin Golden on oppinut ottamaan kaiken ilon irti kaoksesta. Candy on kuin hurrikaani huoneessa, kun taas Golden on hiljaisempi ja manipuloivampi kauos - Häneltä löytyy kiristysmateriaalia varmaan puolesta yksisarvis eliitistä, eikä hän arkaile käyttää niitä.

- Kaikki tietävät että Golden deittailee Discordin poikaa, mutta edes hänen vanhempansa eivät ole varmoja ketä kolmesta.

- Kun Golden täytti 15 Capper alkoi ottaa tämän mukaan matkoileen. Ensin lyhyille muutaman päivän reissuille, mutta myöhemmin jopa kuukausien mittaisille matkoille. Golden rakastaa aikaa isänsä kanssa, mutta hänen sydämmensä kuuluu aina canterlotille, eikä hän haluasi asua missään muulla vaikka muuta voisi luulla.

- Pyörittää pientä hämärää "etsivä bisnestä" poikaystäviensä kanssa.

Polarium: An MLP AU

I’ve worked on this AU for several years now, I think it’s formed enough to where I can tell y’all about it.

It focuses around Sombra and the other umbriums. In this timeline, though Sombra is viewed as a villainous tyrant by the ponies of Equestria, this is far from the case. The umbrium race had been shunned from society by ponies and Crystal ponies alike due to good ol racism and propaganda. When Sombra returns to the Crystal empire (season 3 premiere in the show) after being trapped in ice for a thousand years, he and his fellow umbrium are only attempting to reclaim their homeland which they were banished from so long ago.

After his defeat and loss of his horn, an earth pony traveler named Summit Seeker finds Sombra’s horn. Summit’s Dream is that he always wanted to be a unicorn, so he attempted perform an ancient ritual to make the disembodied horn as it’s own . The ritual backfires and over time he turns into a less powerful doppelgänger of Sombra. Believing he truly is the king of shadows, he rallies Sombra’s armies and the events of the season 9 premiere occur. (Hence why s9 Sombra has a different voice and personality all together ) The real Sombra eventually finds and confronts him just as the Mane six are to defeat him, and Sombra takes him down instead, revealing the stallion’s true identity.

Later when Twilight is crowned Princess, Sombra attempts to repair relations with ponykind. He was initially hesitant to the idea of making an ally of a race that never shown respect for his people. His adopted daughter, Fantasma, was the one who convinced him to employ more diplomatic methods when dealing with ponykind.

Around the same time, the umbriums establish their own kingdom, as a solution to not being able to return to the Empire. It is named Polarium, named after Polaris, one of the first umbriums to ever exist. He is known as the King of Dreams, for not only does he walk among others’ dreams like Luna does, but he is the one who created the very concept of dreams at the dawn of time. The umbriums see him as a god-like figure.

Sombra has two adopted children:

Fantasma: She is 18. Though she is technically the Princess of the umbriums, she rarely uses the title. She acts quite calm and mature for her age and is known for being very tomboyish. Asma usually wears some sort of formal military regalia in public, not because her father wanted her to, but because she believes that other will take her seriously if she dons a “regal” appearance. Asma is also a skilled fighter, with her weapon of choice being a sword. She can also become invisible, phase through solid objects, and manipulate the corporeality of her body like a ghost can. Usually she prefers to fight with honor (I.e. she won’t stab you from behind, she refuses to attack her opponent when they are unarmed, etc). If there are lives of her or her family are one the line, she can be pushed to the point where she will throw away any notion of honor and take you down by any means.

Brasa: Sombra’s second adopted child, and Fantasma’s younger sibling. Brasa identifies as non-binary. On the surface, they are Asma’s polar opposite. They are outgoing, hotheaded and a fierce fighter who prefers hoof-to-hoof combat. Brasa gets mistaken for being older than their sister, as they are much bigger and stockier. But they are actually incredibly kind and somewhat naive about the world, despite being 16. Brasa also not the sharpest tool in the shed and they’re sometimes too trusting of others. Their sister was inspired by Brasa’s willingness to befriend ponies to help their race work towards a more peaceful future.

Story: One attempt by the Dark Lord to create something that could match Second Coming along with their "siblings" Chartreuse, Forest, Maroon, and Royal.

Unfortunately, Mint has only one special ability: the ability to survive anything. They are not especially strong or fast, nor do they have the ability to fire lasers from their eyes, throw fire or fly.

Viewed as a waste of energy and resources they've been used as nothing but a punching bag for much of their life.

But one day The Dark Lord gave them a task; earn the Chosen One's trust and lure them into a trap. Mint was delighted to be of use!

But as they began to grow close to the Chosen One they began to learn what real affection felt like and couldn't bring themself to betray the Chosen One so they're just living with them now.

Additional tidbits: Their nickname for The Chosen One is Coco.

Name: Royal Pronouns: He/him Age: Older teen Likes: Reading, learning, coding, magic, pears, plums, stars, Yellow, The Chosen One, Purple. Dislikes: TDL, messes, combat, Forest, Maroon. Powers: Viral code consumption (can consume and modify digital sticks’ memories), can grow virabot legs out of back, has secondary mouth, can turn invisible.

Story: The Dark Lord's first attempt at making a stick to oppose the Chosen One, Royal was "born" with no noticeable powers to speak of, despite registering as extremely viral. He was abandoned by the Dark Lord. He had no idea that the Dark Lord made more after him.

Allowed to roam free he travelled the Net, visiting various PCs over the years and exploring many different games. Unfortunately he discovered his viral nature and need to consume data meant he could never stay anywhere very long.

Additional tidbits: He has learned extensive coding and scan functions, enabling him to feed without destroying the stick he’s feeding off of. He often uses his memory modification abilities to get away without paying for anything or needing ID. Despite not being an adult yet he is as tall as King.

Name: Aqua Pronouns: She/they Age: Young adult Likes: Baking, rock-climbing, animals (including insects and spiders), pretzels, ice cream and french fries (together), sushi, Gold, Mr. King, Red, Second Coming, Purple, helping others, video games. Dislikes: Minecraft, messes, fighting, her childhood best friend coming back as an abomination, itchy sweaters, brussels sprouts. Powers: None

Story: Born to parents Crystal and Lagoon, she knew grief from a young age when her parent Lagoon died when she was six. Her mother Crystal met her stepdad Olive when she turned eight.

She's lived in the same village outside of StickCity her whole life, and for most of it, her next-door neighbour and best friend has been Gold. She kept him out of at least half of the trouble he could've gotten into (the other half she was right there beside him).

She was supposed to be with Gold and his Dad that night, but she made plans to go with some of her female friends. It was their last year in high school and losing Gold didn't help her grades or help her get into the big veterinary school in the city she wanted to go to.

Now she works at the local convenience store, Wants, while trying to figure out her life without Gold.

Additional tidbits: She and Gold had a running joke about their relationship status that drove a lot of people nuts, but they never officially dated (though they both had crushes on each other at different points).

16- I wish I had a favorite hoodie. I run hot so I usually don’t wear long sleeves/jackets. But I do wish I had a really comfy oversized hoodie I could wear

24- my eyesight isn’t great but I consider myself a timid, yet good driver.

25- I currently have 2 piercings!! (Or I guess 4 holes). I have tons of tattoos I wanna get when I have money, and I’d like to get a couple more piercings too.

26- I’ve just started actually cooking. I like it more than baking tbh. I wouldn’t say I’m good at anything specifically but I do make spaghetti a lot

27- I have lots. I have a keychain I bought in nyc, I have a Spotify keychain with the song “peace” by ts, I have foldable scissors, I have a “fuck the patriarchy” keychain, and I can’t remember anything else rn

28- I always thought I was a pretty strong swimmer but I don’t like swimming.

29- loved legos. I didn’t use the sets, I just used the regular blocks. I would build “houses” for my MLPs and I would build flowers and cars and whatever else my child brain thought up.

30- I currently don’t have a “closet”. I just have an armoire which isn’t the same imo😭 and it’s organized in the way that my shirts are hanging up

35- I had this dolphin I got from my mom and I think her name was crystal and she had a specific place she’d sleep. But now it’s this winky emoji pillow that I “borrowed” from an old friend (his name is choji don’t judge me I don’t even like naruto)
