"An Early Surprise" ||Event Drabble||
Summary: Just a lil event that happened right before the party started as two people have to remind a certain heir of his birthday. Characters involved: Shugarl, @magicgeekponsol and @mutedangeljupiter Word count: 1,058 words
Shugarl had arrived at the party wearing the costume that Ponsol had made for him, and it was to made to match his own costume—for the sake of his own vanity, no doubt.
If that’s what pleased him, then so be it. Shugarl just let it go and he looked around for a certain blond. Taking a step towards the door, he grunted when he felt small arms wrapping themselves around him.
{Hello!}
A small smile comes onto his face as he pats the top of the young girls head. Jupiter and Shugarl had arrived too early so the party hadn’t started yet, but they came around early for a special cause. A reason that could effectively be called—there he is.
Jupiter had taken a hold of Shugarl’s hand (or rather the last two fingers of his right hand) and she dragged him into the building and over to Ponsol who had yet to notice them as he was busily instructing people to finish up the last minute additions to the plan. A few others were running about as they were getting their booths up and ready for the party goers to visit.
“Ponsol.”
The platinum blond flinched and turned around to be face to face with his elder brother. “Shugarl, and Jupiter too from the looks of things.” Golden eyes looking past them, and towards the door, he could see that Jupiter’s adoptive parents were waiting at the doorway. He nodded his head towards them to let them know that it was fine for them to walk in and sit wherever they wanted to.
Now turning his attention back to the two in front of him, he tilted his head up slightly, looking all important (which he was, currently). “Can I help you? May I inform you that you’ve arrived too early for the party? It will start in an hour, mind you.”
Sparks flew between the two brothers, as animosity sparked between the two of them, but Jupiter got in between the two of them and she stomped her foot to get their attention. This was no time for fighting! Can they please just have a normal conversation without trying to start a fight first thing? Geez!
“You didn’t wear your costume yet?” Ponsol asked Jupiter, because he’d heard she wanted to be an angel, but she didn’t have a pair of wings on her back, nor was she wearing a halo.
{I’ll change right before the party will start!}
She didn’t want to arrive dressed up too early for the party. She wanted to get ready right on time and have the costume be a surprise! It’s not fair if the two brothers got a sneak peak, right?
It wasn’t like the two men on either side of her cared for that. They only cared for what was convenient for them so they were at the party fully dressed in their costumes in advance.
Tugging on Shugarl’s sleeve, she reminded him why they were here in the first place with a few signs.
That’s right. Patting her head and ruffling her hair, she giggled as she was trying to bat his hand away. He was messing up her haiiiiiiiir--- noooooooo~!
Jupiter reached into her pocket to pull out a small charm that she made for him. It was shaped like a little flower! She held it out for him with a big smile on her face.
He accepted it with a quizzical look on his face.
Flick!
T-This jerk! Just about to give his brother a piece of his mind, he stopped when Shugarl held something out for him. A pudding cup?
“Did you get so busy that you forgot? It’s your birthday today.”
Was it? Ah… that’s right. He’s been so busy that he had completely forgotten about his birthday. He normally didn’t pay it much attention anyways because he was normally very busy and he didn’t want to spend his birthday with people who didn’t matter to him, so he kept his birthday confidential. There weren’t many people who actually knew when his birthday was.
With the small flower charm that Jupiter gave him, he took notice that he would be able to attach it to the chains of his costume so he attached the small chain onto one of the chain loops. This made the little girl smile brightly, so it brightened up his mood… just a bit.
She was a sweet little girl and he was glad that she was such a positive influence on his brother—who, was still, quite the jerk. Still, he was making progress.
“So you made pudding again this year? Such a cop out.” Ponsol raised a complaint, and before he could reach for the pudding, Shugarl reeled his hand back towards himself. “If you don’t want it, I’ll eat it myself.” He huffed, not falling for that act.
Ponsol was very partial to pudding since it was something that their mother made for him very often when he was sick. It was the only bribe that would get the sickly child to actually take his medicine so it was a dessert that held a lot of meaning to him. It was sweet, but it wasn’t unbearably so, and you could always make the caramel sauce quite bitter if you cooked the sugar for long enough.
“I never said I didn’t want it.” Ponsol growled, trying to reach out for the pudding, but Shugarl kept moving it out of reach.
These two brothers were such a pain sometimes. Jupiter shook her head and sighed, watching the two brothers interact with each other rather childishly. Even grown men had their moments of being childish, it seemed.
Shugarl placed the pudding on top of Ponsol’s head and then he flicked his forehead. “Happy birthday, you devil brat.”
“I’m one hell of a devil, thank you for noticing.” Ponsol took the pudding off the top of his head and he took the small spoon that Shugarl handed to him next to start eating the homemade pudding that Shugarl made specifically for him for the occasion.
He wasn’t very partial to sweets, but pudding forever had a special place in his heart, as did flowers. “Thanks. Until the party starts, just sit off to the side so you don’t get in the way.”
As ever, the domineering brat.

“Soulmates...hm?”
Ponsol’s opinion on the whole Soulmate concept. I lied appareently when I said the others weren’t as long as Shugarl’s. This one is like 100 words shy of being the same length. lol
Unbeknownst to many, Ponsol was a romantic at heart. He got lonely easily, and he did seek validation from others. If he was asked if he believed there existed a soulmate for him, then he’d tell you that such a tale was BULLSHIT.
It wasn’t logical, nor could you prove it to be true.
However, deep down he did want to believe it. He wanted to believe it, but as a man learned in the Sciences, he had to be able to separate fact from fiction. Soulmates weren’t something one could prove, but when you thought of creatures like Crows which mated for life to a single partner, it had you thinking. Could soulmates truly exist?
Crows were social creatures and they were solitary until they found their mate. If something were to happen to their mate, they’d remain alone for the rest of their lives. Other example of animals were the same. When you thought about it like that, could that be proof of the existence of fated pairings?
If so, why wasn’t it that every creature was like this? Was it due to population control? Having a soul? (due to the fact many attest that animals have no such thing) Who was to truly say?
If one needed a ‘soul’ in order to display soulmate behavior, then was that proof that some animals did in fact possess one? Many would dispute this claim, either because they believed animals were too mentally inferior to possess one or due to religious reasons. Regardless of the fact of whether or not animals possessed souls or not, humans believe they do.
Humans do attempt to mate for life if possible, but sometimes they break away from their supposed mate and find another. Sometimes they lose their mate in an untimely accident and find another they love just as much as the first. Did they have two soulmates? Were neither of them the soulmate if both spouses were loved equally? Was the TRUE soulmate out there, still waiting?
Did they even wait? It’s possible they went and found someone else to love instead. The concept of Soulmates was very idealistic, but that’s the point—it’s an idea. Does it truly matter how factual it is? It’s a dream, a wish, and a goal. The point was that one was to find the one they can love more than anyone else in the world. If you came to love someone to the point you were sure you’d die without them, must you check out thousands of other people to drive the point home that you truly love your partner? Ponsol would think not, but it wouldn’t hurt (if done right).
One thing Ponsol was sure people of Rouves were forgetting: Could it not simply be the fact the man was a just a lousy man who got caught in the act of cheating on his wife as he’s a predator and in her rage, she vowed to never forgive him? The mistress, lusting over power (whether she truly is in love with him is anyone’s guess) accepted him as second hand goods. Love could be viewed through the glasses of politics and not some magical and legendary mumbo jumbo.
There were multiple factors and sides to everything. A lot of people studying biology would agree that love is a series of chemical signals to the brain, a primal desire of lust, and attraction to the other person’s scent. You could love someone, but it was a part of human nature to be interested in other people. Genetic fitness at its finest. On a basic level, everyone wants for their young to be fit for the world. It goes without reason that those with good genetics are attractive. A faithful husband may love his wife, but will occasionally have a wandering eye as a man’s instinct is to produce many children to continue his legacy.
Just nature. It was similar to how most women, even if the child was not her own would become fiercely protective of it. The maternal instincts of women were strong, so even animals are seen rearing animals of other species. Is it weird? Yes, but it is nature.
That being said, as moral, intelligent, and social creatures, cheating on your partner was deemed wrong for humans. Though it was a part of instinct to wish to produce many children, staying faithful to one partner was ideal. Some were horrid at doing so, like his father for instance. That man brought shame and pain upon his family and was one reason why Ponsol absolutely detested the idea of cheaters.
Living creatures were attracted to each other by the appreciation of genetic diversity, fitness, hormonal compatibility, and attraction to the other’s scent. (Ever wonder why you appreciate your significant other’s scent? It’s because you are in fact compatible. Consider that for next time). Compatible personalities, good health, wealth and other categories were also good factors to consider when one starts to love another. Taking all that into consideration, it was not a stretch to consider the fact that there is a person out there who is fit for you better than most others in the world. It may seem as though that person was especially made to be with you. Is that not essentially a Soulmate? Just… without the inclusion of the soul being a necessary component to whether or not you were meant for loving each other?
Rather than saying your souls were fated to be together, it may be more accurate to say that by completely natural means, you are more likely to fall for a certain person or peoples. In some way, one could consider this similar to having a Soulmate if it would be inevitable to fall for someone because of your nature.
From these thoughts, a part of him did believe in the concept of soulmates, however, he did not want to set himself up for disappointment and failure. Therefore, he often put up a façade of disbelief in order to numb the pain if he fails to find his perfect destined person.
Ultimately, Ponsol could be considered ‘undecided’ on whether or not he believed in the existence of soulmates. He disbelieved it as one could not hope to prove such a thing, that in the world of billions of people just one person out there was the BEST suited for just you in the world. However, natural examples did have him contemplating on the validity of such claims.
Hopelessly romantic to believe that there truly was one person who you were destined to fall in love with and they with you. The validation of knowing that there is someone who accepts you for who you are, sees you as THEIR number one was horrendously alluring, but also starkly disappointing when you considered the possibility of such a thing. Even more painfully heartbreaking when you then took to thinking the probabilities of even being able to find this person in your human lifetime when the world was so vast.
Still, a romantic thought could remain a dream for the young man who did wish to find someone who would love him and truly prefer him over his brother.
Now, would he join a rally for such a thing? You must be kidding him. That sounded like a huge bother and a waste of his time and patience. Do you believe he’d be able to remain calm enough to not wreak havoc on the crowd of pestilence (this is how he viewed most people) and ignorance?
Come and talk to him again once it starts becoming a global issue. After a few years of living in Bellevue, he’d planned to move back to the US. The happenings in Rouves in all likelihood will not heavily impact the States. If it were to become a global issue in which businesses, celebrities, government officials and the like started to add their own inputs, THEN he may join the fray. Even if he still chose not to, his grandfather would task him to do so.
What a pain. You would think that going to the Rallies in order to talk to Alaine Blanchefleur would be his goal, but he didn’t want to network with someone deeply stuck in too much drama and controversy. That’s just a pain. The least of his worries would be the tabloids believing him to be her next meal. He has honor and standards, thank you.

The blue had turned to gray without his knowledge and the lines of the buildings far ahead now seemed hazy under the cover of the rain that now fell over the city.
He heard hushed steps and running as the people around him, the silhouettes of different lives and thoughts went into hiding from this cold punishment.
He barely reacted, the cold rain falling over his face and rolling down his features, his heart numb. Had he ever felt alive? Besides the short moments of his youth were he had thought himself able to give his life for an idea… for mere words of love.

Had he grown used to his own worthless self that the realization of how easily replaceable he was didn’t brought tears to his eyes anymore? He was drenched wet, but Ponsol didn’t paid it much mind, sticking close to him so the umbrella would work its purpose, letting him hold from his arm so he wouldn’t go falling down…
And his heart was beating all so fast again, right inside his chest. So loud the sound of the rain seemed insignificant besides it… so much he could hardly breath…
He couldn’t understand… what this emotions were. Why did he wanted to rely in the other? Why did he only felt alive when he could be with him like this.

He was never a strong person.
Easily swayed by the darkness of the world. Easily crumbled by the pressure and the loneliness. He had tried to hide that, to make himself seem strong. Unwavering. It was all a play… him pretending to be what he had always looked up to. Nothing more.
And he had never showed the truth to anyone.
Not even when Leo had promised to make him happy. Not when Narukami had wanted to listen to his worries.
He had never wanted them to see… he had never wanted anyone to know. And yet, here he was… clinging from someone, looking at him with eyes full of tears and his heart beating like crazy.
He had never wanted someone to understand him like he did now. He had never wanted anyone to be there for him like in this moment… with this person.
“Ponsol-kun… I… I’m sorry… I just…” not even able to make his thoughts into words, Izumi had already thrown himself to the other’s arms. The tears that had refused to come out before now streaming down his face without any signs of stopping. There was some reassurance in being able to rest his face against that chest, in being able to cling to him and show his true emotions.
And Ponsol returned the gesture, arms wrapping softly around him, adding just a bit of strength once he was completely wrapped in his arms.

Maybe he could be weak sometimes. Maybe he didn’t had to pretend all the time… and show his true self to at least one person.

Early Morning Preparation
Summary: Just a small drabble about the morning of Jupiter's birthday and how Shugarl and Ponsol interact with each other on the day. Word count: 1,071 words
Shugarl had a habit of waking up early every day, but today he woke up earlier than he normally would on a weekend in order to get some things finished. Surprisingly, even Ponsol was up at this early an hour, using his spare key to make his way into Shugarl’s condo as if he owned the place.
Having expected such a capricious attitude from his own brother, it didn’t bother Shugarl in the slightest. He was currently in the kitchen, busily preparing for something. Ponsol walked over to the small dining table that was situated outside of the kitchen to set something down onto it. A bouquet of flowers full of colorful flora, beads, lace, ribbons, and also some sheer paper that was used to surround all of the flowers.
The lace was special because it had a floral design on it, and it was paired with a sky blue ribbon. Something that Izumi helped by giving a second opinion on. Everything else was all of his work, however. Every flower was chosen carefully and was arranged in a specific way. The color of the sheer paper was also specifically chosen as to not take away from the beauty of the flowers. Beads were added just because they looked pretty when wrapped around the sheer paper.
“What’s the theme this time?” The elder of the two brothers asked.
“I went simple this time and went with the theme of friendship and the hope that she would grow strong and happy.” Ponsol answered with a simple wave of the hand, as if he was simply waving off the gesture as nothing special. The man may be able to fool anyone else, but he couldn’t fool the mathematician. The flowers that were chosen were of great quality. Ponsol wouldn’t have settled for anything less than perfection if it were a gift he was giving to someone he knew on a personal level.
The two weren’t very close, but the two still respected each other. At the very least, Jupiter concerned herself with Ponsol and he’d at the very least be kind towards her. Shugarl always thought of it as Ponsol being smart enough to not bring Jupiter any harm if he knew what was good for him—but there was a reason behind his softness towards the young girl.
It was a secret between the two blondes that not even Shugarl himself could intrude upon.
The younger brother already had to regretfully tell his older brother the reason why he wouldn’t be available for the day. He was going to have to go to some social gathering of sorts that their grandfather was forcing him into. Even though he was busy, that old geezer was still forcing too much onto him. “Thank you, I’m sure she’ll enjoy them. Want me to send you a picture later?” “Yeah, whatever, that’ll be fine.” Ponsol huffed.
Walking into the kitchen, Shugarl instantly tensed up, ready to throw him out if he were to do anything suspicious, like attempt to cook in HIS KITCHEN. Instead, the platinum blond man walked in to look at the cake that Shugarl baked and was currently decorating.
If you had the proper tools, making flowers was easy enough if you had a steady hand. With a hand, he had the other man move to the side while he was looking over the colors available to him. Switching out the tips, he piped out a few small drawings onto the cake. He drew a cute little bunny in the center of the cake and he added a cat and a dog next on either side of the bunny. “That’s cute.” Shugarl made a small comment.
Handing the piping bag back over to Shugarl, Ponsol stood up straight to admire his work. You could see him puff out his chest a bit with pride. Very cute. Any young child would like it. "By the way, next to the bouquet are some cookies-- ow! That was uncalled for, wasn't it!?" Ponsol was babying the back of his head with a hand while glaring at his brother indignantly.
"You can barely eat your own cooking and you expect me to allow you to give her cookies you baked? No, did you bake them or did you try microwaving them to make it go faster?" Shugarl hissed. Ponsol grimaced, finally understanding why Shugarl reacted the way he did. Before he clarified, he made a mental note that he shouldn't try to use the microwave for cookies. Guess only special cookie mug recipes would work.
As if a bit embarrassed that his brother could have guessed him right, he took a step away from his brother with a hard glare on his face. “I didn’t bake the cookies, my neighbor Izumi Sena did. You know about him, don’t you? He’s Arashi Narukami’s friend. They went to school together back in their idol days.” Ponsol huffed.
Upon noticing that Shugarl was giving him a skeptical look, the heir simply shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, brushing his hair behind him with a casual flick of the wrist. “Just like I complained to you about him, I told her about him as well. She was probably being nice when she introduced herself to him, that’s all. She introduced herself to Arashi, didn’t she?” Jupiter did tell him that one day that she wanted to find a good place with lots of flowers so she could make flower crowns with Shugarl and her ‘Onee-chan’ so he could only hazard a guess as to who this ‘onee-chan’ was.
The way that Shugarl had gone back to decorating the cake was the only answer Ponsol needed to know that the answer was: yes. “In the bouquet is a card from me to Jupiter. I can’t be there to congratulate her in person but I at least prepared something for her. Apologize to her for me, will you?” Ponsol requested this small favor of his brother, who only waved a hand indifferently.
He already finished what he had to do, so he walked out through the door. Shugarl had already finished with the flowers, but he also added on another little doodle, but there was certainly less finesse than what Ponsol had done, but there was an attempt that was made at least. After stowing the cake away and make sure it would keep chilled, he walked over to the front door and locked it.

“What’s this Farce?”
((I mean it was stated that even if you didn’t attend, you can think of it as the ideals being put on the newspaper or something. I’d assume that includes her being able to see the threads and so I mean, here is a thing, I guess. This includes both Ponsol and Shugarl’s thoughts on the matter because I wanted to be compact with this. Vasco and Mizumachi will not be added because they don’t exactly... follow the news...;;;;; ))
[Readmore because you know why]
“Bro, did you read the news? About Alaine?” Ponsol flipped the page of the newspaper in his hand, calling out to his brother who was watching the television. It was a lovely morning for the two of the brothers and they were spending some time together.
Mainly because Ponsol had sent his brother an emergency call... to help him not burn down the kitchen. How one could royally fuck up that badly was beyond the older Geripeta. This was a very common occurrence, wouldn’t you know? This brat... so troublesome.
Contrary to what most believed, the two brothers did get along for the most part. They may bicker, they may talk ‘smack’ about the other, and they may end up fighting each other physically when they meet (a common habit between the brothers to relieve stress by sparring), but they did love the other.
They just had a tougher way of showing it was all.
Sipping on the coffee that Ponsol had prepared for him (don’t worry, he knows how to use a Keurig) he looked away from the TV to ask, "Who?"
"You know, that woman who is all over the news. The one saying something about abolishing fate?" Ponsol had to jog his brother's memory as he had the tendency to omit everything from his mind that was no of any use to him.
This, was not of any concern to him, obviously.
Nothing was jogging his memory. Perhaps it was and he was only acting as though it hadn't registered. It was hard to tell. Shugarl set his cup down on a coaster and looked over at Ponsol and flicked his eyes over to the cup.
"Yeah okay, sugar?"
A single grunt in reply.
So that answers that question. Ponsol started to prepare another cup of coffee for his brother and made sure to put the sugar away so he woudn't accidentally add in any. His brother did want any this time around.
The older of the two men stared off into the distance, reading the captions running across the screen of the TV. Ah... that's right. This was the woman who caused his colleages to ask him the question about fate and soulmates, wasn't it?
SO IT WAS YOU.
Why this was getting so much publicity and regard was beyond him. It was stupid then and certainly IT WAS STILL STUPID NOW. What a farce.
Soulmates were real but you were trying to abolish the system because people were fated to criminals and the like? What low percentage of people were? Secondly, if they were, they could certainly get out of it.
Many people probably were married to the wrong people. Could they still lead happy lives? Yes they could. There is no reason to abolish anything. What a ridiculous farce.
Ponsol returned to the room with a cup of coffee in hand and sat next to his brother on the couch. "What was your opinion on soul mates? Do you think it exists?" He was curious as to what his brother thought on the matter. Most likely the answer was what he was expecting: No.
"You can't scientifically prove such a thing, and thus it's stupid to believe in it. It's much too convenient and there are too many variables to consider. Moreover you could never know for a fact if you were truly with your fated one. If one of you were to die, would you then be fated to be single forever? Would you gain a new fated partner? Who is to truly say. What if you stole someone else's fated partner, does it then cause a chain reaciton of misplaced fated partners? You couldn't tell me that this process is more efficient than DNA Replication." Shugarl spat out these words as he accepted the coffe cup from his brother with a quiet word of thanks before he took a sip, hazel eyes still glued to the screen.
Ponsol could understand where his brother was coming from and it was true that there was some truth and insightful thinking to his words. These were reasonable questions and concerns. It was hard to truly say that such a convenient concept could be true. However, he thought differently-- for the most part.
"I think that soulmates aren't limited to just two people. I think it just goes to show that there is someone out there that is very compatible with you. Some more so than others. There could be a group of people you are very compatible with and they could be in a sense your 'soulmates'. It's like how you could fall in love in multiple people. This is why some people are just very comptabile with you. You love the way they sound, the way they look, love their scent... and more. I don't think it's wrong to think that Soulmates is just some title given to the ideal that someone is compatible with you and you could come to love them so much you'd believe it to be fate."
While a bit different from the concept of soulmates that the legend in Rouves raved about, it was an interesting spin on things. As expected of his brother. He grew worried at first that his brother had slowly become one of those mindless idiots who believes in anything the government may spew to control your mind.
It seemed he put some thought into things at least. He wouldn't blindly beleive in nothing. He had properly contemplated on the idealization of soulmates and came to his own conclusion. As long as his brain was consulted, that was enough for Shugarl.
"That is an interesting way of seeing it. A very realistic and biological way of thinking of love which is, as i'm sure you agree, a series of chemical reactions in the brain. It would make sense that some people out there are much more in-tune wiht you on a biological level and therefore you may naturally come to feel more attracted to them. No higher being was set into play here. It was just that: natural."
Pleased to know that his brother could understand him and his standpoint on the matter. It was at rare moments like these that Ponsol could enjoy being in his brother's presence. "I should have known better to think you would believe in soulmates." He snorted, sipping on a cup of tea that he prepared for himself.
Stopping mid-sip, Shugarl's eyes lowered to stare down into the darkness of the bitter coffee that was sitting in his cup. "That's where you are wrong. I did have a time when even I believed in fate and soulmates."
Honestly? This came to be a shock for Ponsol. He oculdn't begin to fathom the idea that his brother would even consider such a fallacy. However, when he thought on it, he could recall a time when his brother was very much unlike himself. No, he was starting to become like himself again, but was also staring anew.
It was HER, wasn't it? "Was it... Jenny? It certainly couldn't be Clarice." Ponsol was sure if anyone was able to get Shugarl to consider in such a thing like soulmates, it would have been Jenny. The girl back in highschool that Shugarl dated for a time, and he truly loved her. A lot.
The breakup hit Shugarl hard and he's never been the same ever since. Much more moody, and a lot more pessimistic. He couldn't trust people easily and he pushed everyone away.
The silence grew thick in the air aside from the distant mumbling sounds coming from the TV. That was all Ponsol needed to hear (or rather, not hear) to know that Shugarl had confirmed that only when he was dating Jenny did he start to believe in soulmates and the like.
Of course, with the way they broke up, that was another story entirely. Hazel eyes gazed over the words of how the idea of fate should be abolished as there were people who were fated to the wrong kinds of people. They were fated to bad people. Criminals. Those who were not suited for them.
Those words hung deep in Shugarl's subconsious.
Bad people. those who were not suited for them.
A certain picture of a blond came to mind. He wasn't suited for that person. A monster like him. He didn't deserve to be given any love. He wasn't meant to be loved. If such a thing as fate existed, then Shugarl was fated to give anyone who loved him pain.
Perhaps, before things got any further with Arashi, to prevent history from repeating itself he should--
"Don't be fucking stupid."
An irritated voice cut through the air, shocking Shugarl out of his mental reverie. Curiously, Shugarl turned to gaze at his brother who was now sporting and irritated look which was rare for anyone out in public to see. However, it was a face that Shugarl saw often.
With one leg crossed over the one, Ponsol was bouncing his leg up and down impatiently. "I can see it on your face. Your thinking something stupid again. You're getting into one of your pessimistic moods again. Stop that. It's fucking annoying when you do that. You turn out to be even more of a drag to be around. I was finally enjoying your company for once."
What a cheeky brat. Shugarl wasn't even mad. It was true that he was thinking negatively. It was also true that the two of them didn't have many favorable interactions. Not after... that time.
Things have changed and became strained after THAT happened.
Still, they cared very much for each other, but they were now hesitant to show this. They did not know how to act out their brotherly love for the other. "Amazing, to think you could look at someone long enough to see what they were thinking. Did you mistake me for a mirror, you narcissistic brat?"
"You freaking monster." Ponsol huffed, rolling his own hazel eyes into his head. Of course his brother would have something to say to him. He knew that Shugarl was merely teasing him and that's why it was even more annoying.
Shugarl's lips curled upwards to an off-centered smile. "And you, an intolerable demon." He flicked Ponol's forehead with his index finger lightly.
Silence drifted between the two before a quiet bout of chuckles were shared between the two. That was an inside 'joke' of sorts between the two. Ponsol appeared approachable and affable, but he always hid his darkest thoughts inside of the deepest part of his mind. Shugarl was a Genius with numbers who was so good, he had to be some kind of monster.
Horrendous sounding nicknames that they've given the other from their very early years. They could only accept being called such things if it came from the other. From anyone else, the Geripeta brothers would instantly launch into a tirade-- and if you weren't lucky, you'd be physically reminded why the Geripeta's were a force to be reckoned with.
"What were you even thinking about anyways? Thinking about who a monster like you could be paired up with? I feel sorry for them to have to deal with someone like you." A snort leaves the younger of the two brothers, unknowledgable of the truth behind one of the biggest moments in Shugarl's life. Though he knew a lot of what happened as he was a part of it-- he did miss a big part of what caused Shugarl to turn out this way.
He had no way of knowing that those words had hurt his elder brother. He didn't mean to hurt him, and only meant to give his brother the usual Geripeta 'tough love.' They showed affection to each other by making wise-cracks at each other.
"I'd feel bad for them too. Wonder if there is a way to break away from your fated pair. You should look into it too, because your partner will constantly be jealous of a mirror." Though hurt, he chose to make a joke of his own to not alert his brother to the inner turmoil his mind was going through.
Turning to look away from his brother, he placed all his attention to the TV screen so Ponsol wouldn't be able to read his eyes. His brother was so sharp with his observational skills, it was hard to hide much from him.
"Whoever you end up falling in love with next, I want to meet them so I can approve of them. I don't want a repeat of the last time. I don't want to see you break down like that again."
Silence.
A quiet nod of the head let Ponsol know that Shugarl agreed to those terms. It didn't matter if he agreed or not, because he highly doubted that he could come to love someone. Even if he did... they would leave him soon enough.
He wasn't meant to be loved by someone.
"Same to you, brat."
Once again, silence.
Something his elder brother never knew about him was that Ponsol did have a complex towards his brother who had 'everything' going for him. He was more intelligent, more athletic, charismatic, and his personality, at the core level, was a good one.
Shugarl often thought that if anyone were to meet both of the brothers, they would eventually gravitate towards Ponsol, because he was the more 'friendly' of the two brothers. This made him something akin to being the 'second choice,' something that hurt his pride immensely. He got enough of that even within the company. Everyone bemoaned the fact that the more talented and intelligent of the two brothers should be the heir rather than him.
Upsetting, but it spurred him to try harder. He WAS worthy of the spot. he COULD do this and prove to all that he could be every bit the leader his brother or grandfather could be/was.
He wasn't some cheap knock off replacement for his brother. Even though people would eventually end up preferring Ponsol over his brother, he was still nothing but a replacement.
Growing tired of inferior goods, they lose genuine interest in him and only look to him in order to use him.
Those that his brother actually kept around him were genuine people. Those who truly cared for him. Jupiter being the prime example of such a thing.
As much as he hated to admit such a thing, he was jealous of his brother. He had people who cared so much about him. They could see past his cold icy walls and love him regardless of his attitude. They loved him. People admired him and sought him out for help.
On the other hand for him, people only saw him as a useful commodity. He knew this, but for the sake of making networks, he'd pretended he hadn't seen it. Thought he was inferior goods, he was still high quality. As long as people hadn't met his brother, they kept their interest in him.
However, once they've met Shugarl, they slowly become more interested in Shugarl, but his attitude scares them away.
How ironic it was that the brothers envied the other for what they had, unknowning how the other wished for what the other had.
'If I showed you my lover, you'd end up charming them away from me.'
"Yeah, I'll introduce them to you, so try not to scare them away, will you?"
This time it was Shugarl's turn to roll his eyes at something Ponsol said so he knocked on Ponsol's head with his knuckles lightly. "I was being serious."
'So was I.'
"The day you can truly find someone you love is the day you've truly grown up to be an adult, Ponz. I hope you can find someone good. You may be a hassle of a brat, but you aren't bad. Anyone who can't see that isn't worthy of you."
Somehow, those were comforting words.
"I'm sure if soulmates do exist out there, they would be happy to be fated to you. I bet you are thinking you'd want for you to break things off with your fated pair, but that's unfair to them. You should let them make that choice. You shouldn't be scared to get yourself out there again. There is someone out there for you who can make you forget about her."
If only that were to be the case. He could only hope.
"What do you think about those rallies or whatever? Did you go to any of them?"
"Are you serious when you ask me that?"
A laugh erupts from the younger of the two. Nodding his head, he understands the answer with that question he got hit with. Of course, his brother wouldn't bother going down to some rally. Not for something like this. Not even Ponsol had gone so of course his brother wouldn't have.
"I would rather grade papers for hours on end than attend."
"As I would rather water my cacti."
So this time the theme was cacti. Last time it was something else, what was it again? If he recalled, he had a thing for raising blue flora the last time.
"How do you suppose they want to abolish fate? Sounds rather impossible to me. It says that it's suspected that she can see the threads?" Ponsol wondered what his brother thought of this.
Finishing his cup of coffee, he set the cup down on a coaster to see that Ponsol handed him a newspaper. Scanning over the words quickly as he had a fast reading speed, Shugarl folded the paper and flung it across the room onto the other couch.
"For all we know she's delusional, or that's just something she's saying to brainwash people into joining her stupid cause. Even if it were true that she could see threads, it only proves the fact that it may in fact exist, and trying to abolish it when it's known to be true will prove to be a fruitless endeavor. It's only going to backfire when you tell people you can see the thread. It will only strengthen the idea. Saying that some are fated to the wrong people only shows a small percentage of people will suffer through such an ordeal. There is no point in abolishing the damned thing for a small percentage. What you can do instead is to SAVE those who were fated to pain. That's much more productive than to try to convince everyone to abolish their thoughts, and relinquish the chances of meeting their fated one."
"For once, we both agree on something."

Title: “An Heir’s Complaints” Synopsis: Ponsol’s POV about what he thinks about the upcoming party that he’s been preparing for. Word count: 1,864
I absolutely dread this upcoming party that was going to be held on Halloween. Dreading it. Honestly, if the world could implode that day, I would be pretty happy if not for the fact that I’d then get upset a mere seconds later because then all my hard work would be for naught.
Do you know how hard it was to convince all those old cronies that the help of the nearby shops would be beneficial for them? Not only would good relations be created between the shops and the corporation, but there was certainly going to be more revenue if popular shops were to be joining in on the festivities.
With shops aiming to be festive but also wanting to promote themselves by showing off their own work at the party, it gave them, the corporation, less to worry about. Some space at the ‘Milky Way’ was given to them as they rented out the entire place for the night. Various stores were then given their own spots to set up booths or whatever else they wished to erect at their spot to attract customers.
There was no limit on what it was they wished to do at their own store run areas. Now there was also a bar that was going to be supplying alcohol for those who wished to have some more fun during the party, but the bar tenders were going to be given strict instructions to be very careful about how much alcohol to give to the customers, and of course, bouncers were going to be present for obvious of reasons. Drunk people reasons.
A suggestion of making the costume runway into a costume contest was made, but I quickly shot down the offer as judges would have to be made present and if it were a contest, then that would require even more effort on all of the staff. People would have to adhere to a strict code of conduct, an age limitation may be placed, and of course, a prize would have to be given. Not only that, but judges would be needed, and not only that but a certain minimum of entrants would be required to make the contest worthwhile.
Most contests required an entrance fee and he did not think that for a joint party such as this, should such a contest be necessary. This party was for fun, and a contest would take the fun out of things. People would stop at nothing to win, and dealing with cheating was not on my to do list, thank you.
It then dawned on me to just simply have it be a runway. The staff can at least make sure that the costumes were appropriate before letting people show off their costumes on the stage before they walk off of it.
Haah… truly this was very troublesome but I had to be in charge of most of it, and of course as the main planner of the event—I would have to be there. It’s in the during the week, so that I just going to tire me out, especially since I’ll have to be there for them tearing down the party too. Do you know how long that could take? DO YOU?
Most likely by the time everything was said and done—it’ll be at or past the time I normally sleep at. Don’t even get me STARTED on how much sleep I’ll lose just trying to set everything up. I have to get the catering preparations prepared, approve of all of the costing and funding for the party, and look into the working personnel.
All the shops in attendance had to fill out forms and get their plans approved, and that of course means, that I have the second to final say on what is accepted and not at the party. Even if one of those old cronies have a problem with my ruling, it’s simple enough to just state my case and get them to agree with me. Most of the time they’re only disagreeing to just get under my skin.
Sometimes I just want to kick them down a flight of stairs, quite honestly.
Well, a small infrastructure inside of the ‘Milky Way’ was being designed to be used as a mini-house of horrors for people and kids alike to enjoy. A lot of it was going to be jump scares and some people dressed up in scary costumes. Sound effects, lighting, and of course even a fog machine would be utilized. Not too much smoke will be used of course, for health and safety regulations.
All costume designs will be approved by me prior to allowing the purchasing department and the financial department to do their jobs. That old man was making this a project to force me to do more work that he doesn’t want to do—and to just I don’t know, ‘prove’ that I’m fit for the job. Fuck that, I’ve BEEN fit for the job, are you shitting me right now?
Just because some of you are BUTT HURT over the fact that the ‘better’ of the brothers didn’t get the position, it doesn’t mean you can write my achievements as infinitesimal. I can be just as good as my brother, but when it comes to social events, I’ll show you that I can be the only one who I fit for the job. Do you want to know what Shugarl would do in a situation like this? Nothing. He’d simply state that a party for Halloween was stupid.
‘Trick or Treating exists, so shouldn’t that be enough?’ I could see him saying something like that, or ‘Halloween is for children and college kids. They will have their own parties. Why should we make our own?’
The guy was a stick in a mud, that’s what he is. Well, he does have a point, but this is a good way to get their name out there. Not only that, but they can help other smaller stores and establishments. It creates good networking, and also helps them with their own revenue. The flow of money through the community was a great way to keep the community healthy and strong.
Promoting growth was something they should do as a big power in Akounri. That’s why this party is being held. This started with someone (that someone being me) hearing from the grapevine that some of the stores were thinking about holding an event themselves, and then ‘suggesting’ something to the big man anonymously. He loved the idea and he called to order a meeting.
It was brilliant planning, really. I was pleased by my results, but I wasn’t too pleased to know that all of the responsibilities were dumped onto me. Just my fucking luck.
You know what? The catering for the party is going to be an issue, now that I think about it. People now a day are just so unprofessional sometimes. Does it matter what my age is? Does a ‘proxy’ mean nothing to do? If I’m coming on the behalf of someone else, and I’ve got my own card and attendant to match, then just do your job.
Okay, I do know that things are more complex than that, but do let me complain, won’t you? It’s not often that I get to complain to anyone, even in my mind. I’m too busy for that now a day. That old man needs to lay off my back or I’m just going to end up passing out—again.
Well, whatever. I’ll just stop there for now and focus on the real important topic at hand. You see this here? Look, if I move my arm like this--- that’s right. Did you see that movement there? Did you see how if I turned my arm like that, the feathers expand out. Certain parts of the wings are connected to a brace, so certain movements of my body will cause the wings to move. It will either span out or in. I was creating black wings. There are many tutorials out there that detail out how to make rather realistic wings, wouldn’t you know?
One that I’ve found on one of those artsy-sites is very good. She detailed everything and started out with a biological explanation—and this pleases me. She knows the anatomy of birds and how the wings move. The way the wings are created used this principle and that’s what results in a realistic looking wing.
I made mine black in color rather than white because I thought it would be a nice contrast between my hair color. Obviously, there was going to be a limitation on the kinds of props you are allowed to bring, but making your own fake weapons are not against the rules as long as you used lightweight materials. I planned on making a sword that I will attach to some chains.
I enjoy the image of chains so I wish to add those to the look. I’m not too sure on what I plan on doing with the outfit just yet, but I do know that I want to make use of a temporary face tattoo. Making some snap on fangs would be nice. Horns? A tail? No, no tail.
Horns though, that was something to look into. I think colored contacts would be cool. One that made your eyes look like slits? Should I change the color or keep them gold? Red would be nice.
Fake long nails to work as claws would be nice. If you couldn’t guess already, I was thinking about being some kind of monster. Probably a demon of some kind. A humanoid one, don’t worry. I won’t be giving anyone heart attacks at the party. What kind of host would I be if I let that happen, right?
Just in case anyone else brings a scary costume in, paramedics are on standby.
Let’s see, how long have I been working on this—Oh shit. I have to be down at HQ in an hour to meet with those old bats. Shit shit shit! I didn’t get nearly as far as I wanted to on these wings. These are taking longer than I thought they would! I started I started working on all of this last month and I’m still only this far.
Hm? Of course, I’m going all out. I’ll definitely be on that runway at that party. I’m great at sewing and creating things so I’ll definitely be making my own costume this year as well. Halloween was a great time as any to show off my skills. Don’t chastise me.
What was I last year you ask? A gruesome zombie. It truly put my good looks to shame, but I’ve made multiple people trip over themselves in fright. One poor girl passed out, even. Good times.
Before that, I was—you didn’t ask? Does it look like I care? I’ll tell you anyways that the year before that I went as a humanoid dragon. If I am going to use horns for this look, I’ll probably remodel the dragon horns for this year’s costume.
Shit, 58 minutes. Alright, time to go. I’ll continue this mental complaint session another time.

“Catching up to you.”
Subject: Ponsol about to compare heights with his brother because he grew a few cm.
Canon Significance: Ponsol 180cm --> 185 ; Shugarl 185cm-->188cm
Under readmore because I like to put everything under a readmore.
Ponsol was feeling rather proud of himself at the current moment. He’d just checked his height, and he’s grown a decent amount since the last time he’d checked. If memory served, he was the same height as his brother now.
It was only a matter of time before he would finally grow maybe that extra inch and be taller than his brother. He could finally beat him at something… anything. That man was nothing but a hindrance in his quest to be the best.
“Ponsol.”
“Shugarl. I see that your facial muscles still haven’t learned how to get away from that scowl of yours.”
“I see that your crocodile smile is as unpleasant as usual.”
This was the way they normally greeted each other, so it was no surprise for them to start things off with making jabs at each other. Most would think that their relationship was a bad one. Though you couldn’t say it as ‘good,’ but it wasn’t bad. This is simply how the two showed their brotherly love for each other. ‘Tough love’ you could say.
The heir has always seen his brother to be someone he had to surpass in some way. He had some sort of natural charisma to him that all the business men wanted. Maybe it was his stoic nature that made him hard to read? Though Ponsol was intelligent, Shugarl was a genius. Height-wise, even Shugarl was taller than him (not anymore, but that was beside the point). He couldn’t do anything about height given Shugarl was born earlier than he was.
There were a lot of people who preferred the redhead’s looks over his looks. How does one retain any form of pride when your ‘perfect’ brother excelled in everything? No, almost everything.
Ponsol could beat him if it came down to artistic means of self-expression, other known as ‘art’. This was simply a field Shugarl lacked much talent in. He also couldn’t compare to Ponsol when it came down to fencing. It was a curious thought as to why this was, but Ponsol could use weaponry as if it was natural to him. His elder brother was adept with weaponry, but he wasn’t able to defeat his younger brother if they were both holding a weapon in hand.
Now, if they were to compete with hand to hand combat, Shugarl would win hands down.
As fulfilling as it was to finally have something he was better at his brother with, things like fencing and art weren’t really things that would help further him in life. Since they were children, Ponsol has always aspired to beat his brother at something, and Shugarl would always calmly walk ahead, occasionally looking back to see how far his brother has come.
He never spoke his thoughts out loud, but he was very proud of his ‘baby brother’. He was always working hard, striving to be the best he could be, always aiming for ‘his head,’ figuratively speaking. The genius Graduate student was always rooting for his brother, hoping that one day he’ll finally reach his goal and beat him at something.
Though he felt this way, he would never go easy on his brother. It would be rude to his brother by not taking him on seriously by going easy on him. If Ponsol were to find out that he went easy on him, his pride would surely explode. That boy was an annoyance to deal with when enraged.
Shugarl truly respected his brother for the amount of work he put forth in order to catch up to him. One had to put in a considerable amount of work to catch up to his level. Much more, he balanced his studies with the duties their grandfather placed on him in attempt to groom him to become a well-suited heir.
“So? Why have you come to see me today? Send someone else into the hospital?” Shugarl asked, leaning back into his seat, staring at Ponsol with a bored expression on his face.
The platinum blond smiled and seemed to puff out his chest with pride. “I’m the same height as you now. Soon enough I’ll be taller than you.”
“Oh? You’re 188cm?” Shugarl honestly looked quite impressed at the moment. Last he checked, Ponsol was 180cm, so to have grown 8cm within the last couple of years was impressive. Though… looking at him now, it was suspect that he grew that much.
“Aren’t you 185cm? When the Hell did you grow another 3cm?”
So that’s what it was. As expected, he couldn’t have grown 8cm. Still, he grew a good 5cm, and that was quite impressive. A simple shrug of the shoulders. “I do not check my height daily to be able to tell you when. I got my height checked recently to learn that I’m now 188cm is all. You need to grow another 3cm to match my height. Good luck, Ponsol.” The man smirked at his flabbergasted younger brother.
How cute he was. So that’s why he was in such a good mood.
“Just you wait, I’ll grow to be taller than you one day! Mark my words!” Ponsol declared and stormed out the room cursing underneath his breath.

"Insight at a small Beginning"
Drabble summary: Felt like writing a small thing of Lil Shugarl and Ponsol because why not? I love my muses so much and I gotta prove they weren't complete dumpster cans when they were born.
Note: Only used readmore bc after all the Vday things, I felt I should spare dashes.
Word count: 1,676 words short and simple
-
The sound of a small kid crying echoed down the hallways of the summer villa that belonged to their grandfather, the CEO of the XXXX Corporation. In one of the guest rooms, were Shugarl and Ponsol, with the younger of the two sitting on the ground crying while Shugarl was sitting in a chair reading a book.
Shugarl, occasionally glanced over the book to peer at his younger brother by 3 years. “Are you done with crying yet or not, Ponz?” His tone exasperated, but it held a tinge of concern. The small 6 year old stood up and walked over to his brother to sit on his lap, wiping away at his eyes with his hands haphazardly.
A sigh leaves the older of the two young boys.
Reaching into his pocket, he pulls out a handkerchief and wipes away at Ponsol’s tears, shooing his hands away. You weren’t going to help anything if you kept rubbing at your eyes too hard, irritated them and cried again because ‘they hurt’.
Such a cry baby this one was. Even so, he was absolutely prideful and anything damaging to his pride was dealt with a tantrum. Just before, he tried to console his brother who was crying when Ponsol slapped his hand away, screaming at him to be left alone.
Instead of leaving, Shugarl picked up a book and sat down in the nearest chair, just waiting for his little brother to calm down enough.
As he was wiping away at his tears, his free hand was gently patting the top of his head. He honestly did feel a bit bad for his brother, but he knew better than to fight it. Just moments before, their grandfather had them compete with each other to see who would become the heir of the company.
Discussing this between themselves, they decided a game of rock paper scissors, best 2 out of 3 would ‘win’ (more like lose) the ‘honor’ of being the next heir. Both of them had wanted to focus their time by studying, much like their parents.
They wanted to get out there, explore the world or study the reason ‘why’ the world was the way it was. However, stubbornness is something that runs deep within the family and it definitely came from their father’s side of the family.
The fate deciding game ended with Ponsol winning, therefore meaning that he was going to become the heir, under the tutelage of their harsh grandfather. The one who believed that if you weren’t worth anything, then get out of his face. This was the same man who would very well destroy an entire generation worth of lives, just because he was insulted.
Even though Ponsol ‘won’ the match, he’d truly lost the war. The only real time he could ‘win’ against his brother and it didn’t come with a desired outcome of happiness. It came with pain and disappointment.
He ran away to the guest room he was using as his own, with his elder brother chasing after him. The very first thing that came out of his mouth was the words: “If you really don’t want to do it, I’ll take over for you, so don’t cry.”
They had a match fair and square, and he was not going to go back on his word. That went against the Gentleman’s code. A small gentleman he may be, but an aspiring gentleman all the same. “Don’t pity me! I won so I’ll do it! Go away!” He slapped the concerned hand of his elder brother’s away, unable to see the look of hurt on Shugarl’s face through his tears.
Not wanting to leave him alone, Shugarl picked up the book that was resting on the chair to start reading it. It was the book that he was reading for Ponsol the night prior before bedtime.
Though he intended to study, Ponsol walked up to his room requesting the book to be read to him, so Shugarl set aside his study materials to read his young brother the book.
Luckily, Ponsol didn’t know this, but Shugarl was weak to the puppy pout that he always gave him when he had a sincere request he truly wanted. Their parents have been very busy recently so they’d sent for their children to stay with their grandfather for a time.
Lonely without his mother around (who he was very much attached to), he sought out his brother at almost all times of the day.
With his age, he didn’t have as much studies and lessons to attend to like Shugarl did, but now that he was the heir, that would soon change for sure.
Ponsol stopped his crying, and he wrapped his small arms around Shugarl’s waist, burying his face into Shugarl’s stomach, causing a jerking reaction from the elder boy.
“Stop that, Ponz.” Shugarl spoke as seriously as he could to stop his brother from curling up on his lap, practically burying his face into his stomach, and getting snot all over his clothes.
Talk about grooooooooooooss—
Much more willing to listen to his brother now, he sat up with a sniffle, leaning against Shugarl with a pitiful look on his face.
Resting his chin on top of Ponsol’s head, he took Ponsol’s small hand in his own and squeezed it gently. “It’ll be hard on you, but I’ll be here for you. I will always be on your side, protecting you from the shadows, okay?”
That did make him feel a bit better, but—
“If you get bullied though, you’re on your own. Deal with that yourself.”
As expected from his older brother.
He understands.
Ponsol’s pride was much higher and more delicate than Shugarl’s. He believed in fighting his own fights. The first time his elder brother chased off his bullies, Ponsol got so upset he chased after the bullies again and demanded they continue their bullying so he can ‘properly’ fight them off again.
Needless to say, the Geripeta brothers went into a state of cold war as they could not seem to come to an agreement of how to settle the matter.
Just like kids, they soon forgot what they were even fighting about after about a week since Ponsol, who was so angry about being saved in his moment of weakness, he fought off all his bullies afterwards and none dared to try bullying him again.
Competition was what drove the younger Geripeta, and though the elder didn’t know it, Ponsol viewed Shugarl to be his ultimate goal. He had to defeat him one day.
Studies, height, looks, athletics, etc. Just let him win against him in something!
His brother was smart, humble, athletic, and just all around a charming kid. He got loads of attention no matter where he was. For being a kid at the young age of 9, he had this charisma about him that drew people towards him.
Ponsol of course was talented himself, but his own accomplishments seemed to pale in comparison to Shugarl. His perfect older brother, the one he looked up to and loved only secondary to their mother… could not see him at his time of weakness. He wouldn’t allow it!
“I’ll work hard and … I’ll be better for the job than you. I promise that.” Spewing out his honest words before puffing out his cheeks and crossing his small arms over his chest, Shugarl couldn’t help but find his younger brother absolutely adorable.
Always watching over his brother, he found it endearing how hard he tried. He always strove hard to better himself daily.
Chasing behind his footsteps, Shugarl felt the pressure of someone fast approaching. He didn’t want to let his brother pass him by without a good fight.
The harder he tried, and by taking Ponsol on seriously, surely then, his brother would grow up to be an impeccable young youth of many talents. None would dare state that he wasn’t cut out for the job.
No matter what anyone said, he was absolutely proud of his cute little brother. This gloomy atmosphere was annoying.
Shugarl set the book down and started to attack Ponsol’s sides, immediately getting an eruption of shrill laughter. Soon enough the two boys were running about jumping over furniture. A game of cat and mouse.
The tickler and the tickled .
Only when Ponsol dropped onto the bed all tuckered out did Shugarl stop chasing him around the large room. Laying down right next to Ponsol, he pat the top of his head, ruffling his soft hair. He enjoyed the silky smooth feel between his fingers.
“Can you read me a bedtime story tonight…? I know I promised yesterday would be the last but…” He pouted, sniffling a bit.
He wanted to be spoiled today of all days. Today marked the end of his days being able to be spoiled so readily by his family. Once their grandfather got him in his clutches, he was going to be brought up with a harsh environment.
“I’ll read you two stories tonight. Come on, I’ll read you one right now. Go pick a story.”
Even though he had his own schedule to adhere to, and wasting this time with reading stories was only going to give him more work, he prioritized making sure his brother was going to be okay.
Seeing a smile on the faces of those he loved is honestly what he worked so hard for. As long as he could see those smiles, he could do anything.
By extension, that also meant that if someone harmed those smiles, he was not against throwing you down, and thrashing away at you until you screamed ‘Uncle’.
"YAY! Thank you, Shu! I love you!" Bright eyed, Ponsol quickly hugged his brother before he ran to the bookshelf to look for a book to read.
Watching as his brother sped off to carefully debate on which story he wanted read to him, Shugarl smiled to himself, reaffirming his plans to just watch over his brother for as long as he was able.

[if you're still accepting them ♛ - this url and ♛ - crimsxnheadphones?]
Taken from meme: [x] ||Accepting|| ((All y’all clearly hate me, don’t you? //sob))
As far as my memory goes we don’t have many (or any) interactions and I actually... don’t know Minako so this is going to be less in depth than the other meme entries were. I’ll try my best though. Sorries!
@crimsxnheadphones
my opinion on;
character in general: Yuuri Katsuki, the timid skater who pretty much kinda learns to later be like YAAAAHHHHHHH I GOT THIS. I AM THE SEXY KATSUDON AND VIKTOR WANTS ME. YOU ALL WANT ME BUT YOU CAN’T HAVE-- only Viktor can have. Okay jokes aside he was a timid guy to start who has major self-confidence issues. He struggles to get himself out there. This does slowly change once Viktor becomes his coach. He learns to strive even harder towards his goal. He can’t let his coach down. He wants to make him proud. He has to get out there and be the best he can be. He CAN do this, he WILL prove those people wrong who were saying mean things about him.
He’ll prove them all that he is not a waste of time. Viktor did not make a mistake. He’s not a mistake. He progresses a lot, this guy. I can’t say that he’s not still timid, because he can be, but it’s just a bit less compared to the very start. He learns to have more confidence, and has more faith in his abilities and his stamina. Pushing himself to the limits. A very emotional guy, but his insecurities often hold him back. A guy full of passion and vigor. One who knows he can get better. He may get discouraged and he may give up, but eventually he does rise up once more. He’s learned from the past. He will work off it and make himself better, he will be a new Yuuri Katsuki. A very admirable character, tbh. One thing that’s interesting about him is that while he often put himself down, there were many who saw the potential in him. Could see he was/could be great. He’s surrounded by love and support. This of course, is just my opinion and in no way is me saying this is the only way to see him. If anyone else sees him differently, that’s totally okay.
how they play them: So when Yuuri interacts with a lot of people, he comes off as being a bit... calm? Like he’s a neutral kind of person, when in fact he may be the opposite on the inside. He’s not overly happy when he talks to people, but he’s not like an angry hissy-cat either (//coughs). So that part of him, I feel is kept in line.
He can however get really nervous and or shy when it comes to his own work, so he can speak of himself with a bit of a humble nature and a smidgen of humility(?) It’s like a big part of who he is. The way he thinks about himself and his work. He can’t, when not on the ice, be all pompous and puff out his chest. No, he knows how to be modest. He knows humility. I like how that nature does show up a bit in some of the interacts you had. There wasn’t much for me to work off of so forgive me. He is in fact used to being hated, so I can definitely see him kind of taking things with stride. He has to. So being glared at and reacting the way he did, I can believe that.
The Drabble for the Rallies thing, it’s hard for me to explain, but the general feel of it seemed a bit depressing or just very self-reflective? It just captures that general insecurity feel of his. However, he still has firm beliefs. He stands firm when it’s his own beliefs, and above all else, Viktor has always been a huge figure in his life. The way he ended on a positive note thinking of Viktor, to me, just really says ‘Yuuri Katsuki’. Like I said, there wasn’t many interactions for me to work off of, but I do believe you are doing well.
the mun: So I don’t think we’ve talked before ooc, so I can’t say all too much. I did look through some tags and I can see that there is a part that is meticulous and organized in the way that you use multiple tags. You don’t just stick with the required tags, you have your own system. It does take effort to do to come up with a system and to remember them all. It shows a bit of discipline. I also saw a few like more jokey tags as well so it also shows that you can be serious but also be like ‘YEYEYEY OKAY GAME TIME. LET’S GOOO. LETS HAVE FUUNNNNNNNN’
I do saw that you pretty much never failed to state if anything needs changed, just hit you up. Shows flexibility in one’s character and the willingness to go along with others, also consideration because it’s nice to just say so to everyone, rather than just stating it once and expecting for everyone to remember this being the case that they’re allowed to just hit you up if they want something changed. That’s how I figure it, anyways.
Now with this meme, there is one thing that I can definitely say: You’ve got some guts. I could be wrong but I don’t think we’ve interacted at all. Maybe sparingly with meme days, but none have ever gone past that and were made into threads. So truly, it takes a lot of daringness and guts to send in a meme like this, I think. Especially when a big part of it is how I think of the mun and how they write. Hard to really say if you’ve never interacted-- ya know? Still, you sent it in regardless and that’s real gutsy. I like that. KUDOS to you, friend! I can only hope what i’m writing is satisfactory. OTL
do i;
follow them: Yeyep
rp with them: I don’t believe so. I don’t think we did prior to hiatus either, but I could be wrong? My memory is faulty.
want to rp with them: SURE SURE! Always up for something new. Might I suggest @heromanvasco or @friendlyoceangiant for more friendly muses? Ponsol is (fake) friendly but would be able to be civil with Yuuri. He is a famous guy after all. Gotta play nice. Super hard level is trying to interact with Shugarl who is kinda like a dead fish. What are emotions? What is... kindness? How do you derive that?
ship their character with mine: Naaaahhhhhhh let’s keep Yuuri with his special someone, yeye?
what is my;
overall opinion: So overall, I think you are a person who is reaaaal gutsy, and might not be too afraid to go out there? I must say i’m interested in the having sent in two urls thing. Perhaps because you are interested in threading with me with those characters? Maybe that is the case and you saw Izuzu doing the same thing and so knew I’d be okay with it and was like ‘well here goes nothing~’. Whichever the case, it’s good to see someone who is willing to get themselves out there. I felt as though the part of asking whether or not i’m still accepting shows consideration. I did a good number of the same meme and it takes a lot of effort. My back hurts so much like you don’t understand. So it’s nice to see someone taking that into consideration and asking in case. Again, that’s literally how I see it.
So all in all, from what I could gather, you seem like someone who is pretty open-minded and are willing to do what you think needs done to get some progress. Very admirable. I unfortunately don’t know Minako, so I can’t really say much about her characterization. I could speak on Yuuri but there wasn’t much on the blog for me to work off of. Either way, from what I have seen, I can see you put thought into what you do, and you try to put in as much elements as you can about a character in your characterization. I believe you to be doing an excellent job with your writing. Keep it up.
my opinion on;
character in general: I actually don’t... know who she is really? I can’t really have an opinion on someone that I don’t... know. Though I guess that’s not entirely correct as I did play with a Minako once over on my main RP blog. The way she was played there was that she was a very upbeat girl who was very friendly, and to me she seemed like a very honest individual. Tells it like it is. I did a very quick read through on her personality and got that she’s a character full of energy and life? Though she apparently hides her suffering and her burdens. So she’s not just a happy character. I’d guess that perhaps while she’s a happy and active character, a lot of it is done in order to make herself be able to push through her pain. A distaction if you would. That’s my guess, anyways. Her visuals do remind me a bit of Haru Miura, who is my queen btw, therefore she’s most definitely cool in my book already.
how they play them: So my very very quick researching shows that while she’s very cheerful, upbeat and funny, she can also be very sarcastic or serious? So it seems like she’s a character who plays by her own emotions, and is a whole book of possibilities. We’ve never threaded so I took the liberties of just skimming through some of your interactions and so I can see there are times when she’s very cheerful and playful and other times where she is not so happy and is having an outburst or being serious. In other words, like a regular human being. Not 2-dimensional in their personality.
She seems also rather cute the way she’s written? I honestly can’t really say very much since... I don’t really know much about the character in general but I can see that you do like your character a lot and you write her as one would a young girl. Full of life and vigor. Willing to be a bit brave, to get out there and be honest to herself but sometimes also reel back a bit out of shyness and the like. This honestly really doesn’t mean much from me as I don’t know Minako, but I feel as though you were doing a good job with her.
the mun: I dun wanna repeat
do i;
follow them: Very sure I am. rp with them: Nope.want to rp with them: Just like in the last section, SURE SURE! I’m always up for new threads. I may not know anything about her, but i’m always up for something new.ship their character with mine: Hard to really say I’d ship with a character I don’t know right? As for Ponsol, he’s currently... busy being used as a plot device for my evil plans... muwahahhahaha.
what is my;
overall opinion: MORE REPEATS
**Note: Mun’s answer are all to be completely honest. Don’t send url if you don’t want brutal honesty.

“Welcome home!”
Verse: Were!au Summary: This goes into the idea that Ponsol had gone away from home for a while due to some extenuating circumstances and he had to leave @mismatcheddoll alone for a while and he’s finally returning home. Just a small lil thing because we always talk about it and I felt like writing a thing so here we go.
-
He had been away for quite some time dealing with some… things, but he was finally on his way back home. He had let his elder brother know in advance of his return, and asked him to please check back on his place to ensure that everything was in good condition.
Shugarl saw the piles of clothes litered in the corner of the room and sighed at the sight. 'He would do something like this'—is what he thought, not knowing that it was a certain little Were-pom who had made a nest of Ponsol’s clothes to immerse himself in the scent of his beloved.
It wasn’t until the laundry was finished that Shugarl realized what he’d done to the distraught Pomeranian who was severely missing the Alpha of the house.
The were-pom had returned after going on a grocery run to see that the clothes with Ponsol's scent have been washed. He no longer had a nest of his lover's scent to comfort him in his time of loneliness. He was about to shed some tears when Shugarl spoke up, in a slightly rushed tone.
Though it was a secret (as Ponsol wanted to give him a surprise), Shugarl let him in on the fact that Ponsol was returning home soon so forgive him for doing the laundry. Just be patient for a little while longer and you’ll be able to see the real thing soon enough.
When the platinum blond did return home, he could smell the scent of the other deep within the compound. “Mika, I’m home. Aren’t you in?”
Instantly, he could hear a yipping sound and then he could see a small ball of fluff bounding towards him, jumping into his arms like some kind of furry torpedo. If you asked if he were hurt by this action, he’d say he wasn’t, but he worried that Mika may have hurt himself instead.
“Ponsol-kun, Ponsol-kun, I missed ya!” The small Pomeranian rubbed his face into his chest, trying to get his scent to rub off onto him.
A small and gentle smile appeared on Ponsol’s face as he set the small dog down and gave him the command, ‘stay,’ which Mika hesitantly obeyed. Ponsol started to shift into his were-form. The sounds of his bones shifting and cracking always made him feel unnerved, but the fact he never felt any substantial pain calmed him down.
Fur was covering his entire body and his line of vision was lowering as he was changing from being a bipedal creature to one that stood proudly on 4 legs. Pushing his clothes (now too big for him) into a pile with his muzzle, he walked deeper into the living room before he lay down leisurely. “You may approach now.”
It didn’t take long for the Pomeranian to run to his side, nuzzling into his soft fur. He was nuzzling so close to him, half his body was lost in Ponsol's pale blond colored fur. The only thing you could see was the curly tail wagging so quickly, Ponsol worried Mika may accidentally break it.
Truly, it was nice to be given such a warm welcome after a long time away. “I take it you’ve been well?”
“Mn! I was ‘lright! I took real good care of the house for ya~”
He was like a young puppy who was excited to announce the fact that he successfully completed a ‘mission’ tasked to him. It was endearing, truly. “You did a good job, I’m proud of you.” Ponsol moved so he could reach Mika and nuzzle his face.
It’s been so long since he’d been home and the exhaustion of all the travelling had done a number on him. Now that he was home, where he could relax, he curled up around Mika. The smaller canine was wrapped around on all sides by his own warm body.
Tired, Ponsol’s eyes slowly closed and he drifted off into sleep, with Mika underneath all his fur. Most likely he was going to join Ponsol for a quick nap, and then he’d wake up first, pop out from that mass of fur and wake Ponsol up by licking his muzzle.
It was nice to have a habit, wasn’t it?
