What is meant to be a peaceful place. A warm, sunny place, is now cold, and wet, and does nothing to help the terrible mood that the Doctor is in.

I just... don't know what to do.

This was playing on his mind. He was not just in a 'bad mood' or 'being grumpy'. There was no true happiness in his activities nor in his adventures any more; he had reduced his time in the TARDIS to sitting in the vortex.

He sits on the muddy hillside, the rain falling all around, drenching himself also. If only I could drown in this...

Drown my feelings...            Drown everything...

He still visits friends, occasionally, for fleeting visits. He also spends time with River, he longs for River... But on many occasion those longings cannot be met. Following the times that they are met, the Time Lord still feels that things are missing, that he tries to do the things he thinks are right but only understanding too late what it is he really wants.

I don't understand. I can't cope with this.

I really need to see that again. I saw it years ago when I got given the video second-hand and I have a feeling I will love it even more. I also remember Sophie looking quite pretty in that ep as well…

((You really should, it's fantastic once you actually stop and think about it. If you watch it in a rush (like I did through my first watch trough of the Classic) it comes out as kind of shitty, but I think it's one of the best 7ths.

And yes she looks pretty. She always looks pretty. She looks pretty in DragonFire and in Curse of Fenric. She even looks pretty in the audios. I don't even know anymore, Sophie Aldred is unfair to the rest of us women))
