bastardtrait cinematic universe
or the btcu if you will, but if you'd rather not i understand.
spending any amount of time on my silly little blog will tell you that most if not all of my saves exist in the same world, across TS4 and TS3. it's a lot to keep track of so I made a couple helpful illustrative guides to help understand it better if you are ever lost or are just curious, OR are just here to gawk at whatever might be going on in my little rat brain.
if you care, there are spoilers in all of these links, otherwise, meh.
The family tree, or rather, the family forest that currently contains the Lucky, Nova, Scooter and Park legacies, and the one-off Hartley and Menace of Sunset Valley saves.
this one is a beast to navigate. to access specific lineages, click on these people...
Hartley/Goth/Mistake: Iain Lucky-Angelo Hartley
Nova: Fiona Reed Lucky-Cassie Nova
Scooter: Destiny Dinh-Briana Scooter
Park: Percy Scooter-Sebastian Park - this section is still WIP because this save was from fuckin 2019
The timeline in date format, to help understand roughly when stuff happens. I wouldn't pay much attention to the dates as eras in time, but rather they're just there to help illustrate the passage of time and age differences between partners or contemporary legacy heirs. this is entirely because I am Not Good at illustrating the passage of time in my stories lmfao.
The timeline in block format, because the list format has dates and numbers and such but it isn't very illustrative.
you'll notice the Sandwich.TV save and Faygo legacy aren't represented anywhere but the block format timeline and that's because 1) i hate them so much 2) they're hard to fit in. i'm still working on it.
anyway hope you enjoyed this peek into my cranium.

I keep seeing the word 'soft' recently a lot, especially on your blog, and I can't tell if it's a new slang, or what it means. English isn't my first language sorry.... What does it mean?? š
š
š
it's not new at all, but i'm not sure when the rise of its usage in the current context fully started - my "be soft" tag is carried over from my old blog from a quote by Iain Thomas, "Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place," which he originally wrote in 2007, but you might be seeing it a lot lately due to Taylor's use of it in the bridge of Sweet Nothing, "to you, I can admit that I'm just too soft for all of it." there's another quote used on edits here a lot by Katherine Henson, "having a soft heart in a cruel world is courage, not weakness." Marina uses it in her song "Soft to Be Strong." artist Jenny Holzer used it on a marquee in one of her "truisms":
there are probably other good examples i'm forgetting! it's basically like saying you're tender-hearted, or delicate, or gentle, amidst the harsh and difficult aspects of life. a lot of people started using it as a descriptor as a bit of a pushback against this idea that being strong equates to being tough and mean and rigid and hard, that you can be emotionally vulnerable and kind and loving, that you can be soft-spoken and sensitive, and have that be considered a strength, even when it leaves you a little sad and battered by the world, you still hold onto your gentleness and light.
don't be sorry, your english is great and i'm happy to explain if i can! i hope this helps and makes a bit of sense! š

Duart Castle
Isle of Mull, Scotland, 1315
Astrid Maclean blames Finn MacDonald for her best friend's death who passed away tragically in a horrific accident. Now Finn MacDonald has just returned after spending a decade at war.
Finn has returned to the Isle of Mull and serves the Maclean clan although he still has many mental scars. As many of the village locals tried to hang him and the leader of the pack was Astrid Maclean who is Loch Macleanās sister. Luckily her father, Laird Iain Maclean who is now deceased, had believed Finn and saved his life.
The current Laird Loch Maclean, is also best friends with Finn MacDonald which puts him in a difficult position not wanting to choose between his sister and his best friend. However Finn really hates Astrid with every fiber of his being, afterall he was almost murdered because of her prejudice and hatred!
Now his chief Loch Maclean has sent them both on a mission together at the beginning of a war with an enemy clan. So Astrid and Finn have to work together which neither is thrilled to do with so much hatred and animosity in their hearts. Yet they have to put their negative feelings aside so this mission will succeed. Can they do it?
Unfortunately their ship hits rough choppy waters in a horrific storm where they land on a desert island. Now they have to rely on each other to survive which includes past confessions that include past infatuations with each other. Can they forgive and forget? Can two enemies persevere when they need each other to be to survive? Will they be able to manage, read and discover their fate in this nailbiter!
Another stunning book that my go-to-author pens another heartwarming story that was so awe-inspiring with many twists and turns that I absolutely loved. Who is not captivated by a friends to lovers storyline that romance readers will absolutely love! Plus being the last book in series is like a mini book characters reunion where Loch, Jack, Finn and the women they all love make appearances in this extraordinary series finale. A book I read in one sitting as it was definitely a book I could not put down! A book not to be missed that I highly recommend.
I personally think readers will get more knowing about these three swoon worthy heroes' backgrounds if they read all three books in the series. Again this is just my personal observation, as this can be read as a stand alone book in the remarkable āRogues of Mullā series too.

Anthonyās Stupid Daily Blog (372): Fri 24th Mar 2023
Weirdly even though I didnāt go to bed until 12:30 last night when I awoke at 6 for work I felt fully replenished and energised which hasnāt happened in a while. For the first time since my bike fucked I resisted the urge to get a taxi and just went for the bus. I asked the driver for a day ticket and he mumbled something without giving my the ticket so I had to take my headphones out to hear what he was on about which annoyed me because it should have been a straightforward transaction like every other time Iāve gotten on a bus. He asked me where I was going and I told him Concord bus station and he gave me a ticket. I spent the rest of the journey wondering why the fuck heād asked me where I was going as Iād asked for a day ticket. A day ticket allows you to get on the number 56 bus as many times as I want for a 24 hour period so where Iām going is irrelevant. It appears as though since I got my motorbike the employees of the bus company have gotten even more fucking stupid. Speaking of useless my phone was at 80% and suddenly while I was listening to a podcast on the bus it decided to just turn itself off. So I switched it back onā¦battery life 10%. BULLā¦.SHIT!Iām sick to death of this piece of shit doing whatever the fuck it wants like itās Marlon Brando on the set of Apocalypse Now. As soon as I get back from the States Iām getting a new one.Ā
I saw on the news that protesters in Paris have caused a full on riot in opposition to the pension age being increased. We canāt we get our shit together like the French and fuck shit up when the politicians screw us over? Iain Duncan Smith brought in non-doctors to order severely disabled people back into work against doctors orders. Why the hell didnāt we match to his house and permanently tar and feather the bald cunt like the end of the movie Freaks? Iām convinced w that when Smith was a kid on his way to private school a disabled kid in a wheelchair accidentally ran over his foot and scuffed his shoes which led to a lifelong vendetta against the disabled people. I wouldnāt be surprised if Smith has a ālairā in his house with posters and effigies of all the disabled people he hates: Stephen Hawking, the drummer from Def Leppard, Rylan (Iām not sure what heās got but whatever it is heās got it bad).Ā
I got a statement from my bank and It turns out that I had more money left in my account than I thought I would after taking out a grand for the States. I assumed that it would be completely drained after all the money I took out to spend plus all the cash Iāve spent on taxis and food this week but thereās still a decent amount of cash in there. Plus I of course will be getting paid my regular wage while Iām on holiday too so at least I wonāt be flat broke again when I get back.Ā

Is Jocasta Nu in "Star Wars" an archivist or...a librarian? [Part 3]
Continued from part 2
youtube
Of course, those who have written stories with Nu have not realized this nuance, thinking of her as just an information provider and nothing more, nothing less.. Nu is doing much more than what librarians describe as a "reference interview," a way of describing a conversation between a library user and librarian, often at a reference desk, with a librarian explaining to a user's information need by trying to clarify what the user is saying and directing them to the appropriate resources.
Reprinted from my Wading Through the Cultural Stacks WordPress blog. Originally published on Nov. 25 2021.
Nu can be, and still is, an archivist even if she is working in a special library, as she clearly has archival duties, including controlling access to the contents of the Holocron Vault. She also has duties which some might attribute the librarians like helping Jedi find information using the data terminals of the Jedi Archives, said to be the greatest repository of knowledge in the galaxy. Those duties can easily be part and parcel of archival work.
The issue here is that Nu, who is overconfident in the role of the archival records and thinking they are immutable, is treated as an archivist and a librarian at the same time, even those these professions are not the same. The creators easily blended the two together, despite the fact those in each position have different roles, even if they work together. Libraries can exist within archives and vice versa, but libraries and archives are not the same, and should not be treated as the same. To act like they are interchangeable is to devalue the work of archivists and librarians alike, and contribute to misinformation and narratives which result in the loss of funding to archives, and likely even libraries as well.
In the end, I hope that a live-action or animated series within the Star Wars franchise has a better archivist character in upcoming series [4] and doesn't fall into the trap of acting like libraries and archives, librarians and archivists, are the same thing, as some of the fan fictions, which feature Nu as a character, likely do. They never have been the same thing and they never will be the same thing. The professions can surely work together, but the distinctions between each profession are important to ensure that necessary work can be completed, people are paid fairly, and inequities solved.

[4] According to CBR, the upcoming Star Wars: Crimson Reign #1 comic (available starting on December 1) includes a mysterious character known as the Archivist, who is Force-sensitive character, and is recounting the events from the comic from a holocron where she recorded what she experienced, but as CBR notes, " nothing is known about her other than her sensitivity to the Force and her radical belief that there is no difference between the light and dark sides of the Force" with her design seemingly "inspired by Iain McCaigās early concept art for Darth Maul."
There's also an archivist appearing in the book, Star Wars: The High Republic: Mission to Disaster, which will be available beginning in January 2022, named Lyssa Votz. Starwars.com describes her as a "Jedi temple on Dalna, a human female in her late 20s and a fully trained Jedi Knight" who hates fighting, and is described by Lucasfilm Publishing creative director Michael Siglain as "always forgetting her lightsaber" but often carries a datapad in her hand at all times. So, I look forward to those.

y'know, every now and then i get flashbacks of all the shit IM sprouted and violently shudder. remember when he first came in, he said producers couldn't just cast actors coz they liked them; they had to have characters with purpose? with rebecca and kim, i think that was exactly the first and last thing he did for the show. the amazing trailer for last week and the nonsensical shitshow that it actually was is possibly the biggest, most disappointing tv contradiction i've experienced in years.
god i remember that quote which is why i always thought there would be something more to rebecca but no..... she was just here to get pregnant and be tortured apparently
remember how he said that robron fans will be able to take off their therapists off speed dial?? how he said that everybody wanted to see a cat fight between leyla and priya?? or the general way he talked about female characters?? he said a lot of dumb as hell things in 2 years
that ask was such a mood anon lmao

Iām Thinking of Ending Things
I have been majorly slacking off with my horror movie reviews because Tumblrās fucked around with the tags and it made me mad. I have a bunch of these to catch up on, which Iāll post as time allows, but we watched this one last night and my brain is buzzing so I wanted to go in-depth a bit with it.Ā
youtube
Iām Thinking of Ending Things (2020), directed by Charlie Kaufman, is an adaptation of a novel of the same name by Iain Reid. But in the usual Kaufman style, this is not a straightforward adaptation, or a particularly approachable film in general.Ā
I think usually folks either hate Kaufman (or at least find him exhausting), or else take delight in his particular brand of what-the-fuck filmmaking. Iāve always been firm in the Kaufman camp; Adaptation is one of my favorite films, and I have very fond memories of being introduced to Being John Malkovich as a doorway into stranger, more serious filmmaking as a teenager.Ā
That said, I was nervous about this one. The title put me off, and when I found out what the core conceit (and ultimate reveal) was, I worried it would be too much of a downer. But itās not nearly as heavy to watch as the themes suggest it might be, although I will grant that if youāre sensitive to second-hand embarrassment, this film could be physically painful to endure at times.Ā
But! Okay! Iām going to talk in very general terms about the story first, then under the cut delve into heavy spoilers. I actually think the film may be more enjoyable with the ending spoiled first -- it is so densely packed with symbolism and references that it is basically impossible to understand or appreciate on a blind first watch -- but Iāll leave that up to yāall.Ā
NON-SPOILER:
The film introduces us to Lucy (Jessie Buckley), who is going on a trip with her boyfriend Jake (Jesse Plemmons) to meet his parents (Toni Collette & David Thewlis) for the first time. Though they havenāt been dating long, Lucy is already thinking about ending things with Jake. Itās not that heās a bad guy, necessarily, but something about their arrangement is just...not working.Ā
They have a long, awkward car ride and then meet his parents, an event that slips fromĀ āpainfully awkwardā toĀ āinexplicably surrealā. Intercut with all of this is footage of an unnamed janitor going about his lonely day-to-day routine. The paths of Lucy and Jake collide with the janitor at the end in a way that....well, depending how much attention youāve been paying and whether you caught all the breadcrumbs, either explains everything or leaves you extremely confused. Also there are a couple of dance numbers, because sure.Ā
Why the fuck would you want to watch a movie whose plot isĀ ācouple goes on a car ride, eats dinner, and then drives homeā? And how the fuck does anyone make that premise last for more than two hours? And how can that possibly be interesting enough to make me want to write a blog post about it? Okay. Letās dig into things. I apologize if itās a bit of a jumbled mess, this film is denseĀ and deliberately obtuse and also Iām writing this at work so...bear with me.Ā
SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT:Ā
Okay. So the easiest way to explain this movie is to first spoil the ending, and then loop back around to all the little things that add up to it, and what meaning they might have.Ā
The explanation: Jake and Lucy as they exist in the film are not real. They are instead an enduring daydream of the lonely janitor, who is imagining various scenarios playing out in his mind as he goes about his day. At the end of the movie, the janitor dies of hypothermia in his car.Ā
OKAY! Now with THAT out of the way, letās circle back to the beginning of this movie!Ā
The film opens on Lucy's voice-over, talking about how she's "thinking of ending things," and it's not immediately clear from context whether that means a breakup or a suicide -- everything she says seems to apply to both. This long opening monologue is played over interior shots of Jake's parent's home, a destination the story has not yet reached, before settling in on a shot of Lucy outside in the snow. She looks up to an apartment window and sees an old man standing there looking down at her, mumbling to himself; we catch a part of it "now is the time for the answer, just one question, one question to answer" -- and this is not the first time we will hear this old man mumbling this refrain, so keep it in mind. But now Lucy is getting in a car with her date, and the old man dresses for work and sets off to his janitor job. The two of them are connected somehow, we sense, from these parallel shots and the way they are intercut.Ā
In the car, Lucy and Jake make awkward conversation. She is thinking about him, and we get the sense that he knows what sheās thinking. At one point, she references a poem in her mind; he asks aloud if sheās familiar with it, and she denies it. But of course, if Lucy is simply a construct of his mind, of course he knows everything sheās thinking -- and here is the first of the great tragedies of this story: Jake is escaping into this daydream, creating what should be an idyllic scenario of a perfect relationship and a wonderful time with his family...but it canāt be perfect. Even his own fantasy girlfriend doesnāt like him. Itās as if heās internalized his self-hatred to the extent that he cannot properly imagine what a supportive or loving relationship is like. Mental illness has a way of making your self-talk unnecessarily cruel, and that seems to be whatās happening here.Ā
Lucyās identity shifts and alters frequently throughout the film: she is variously a neuroscience student, a poet, a painter, a physicist, a gerontology student. Even her name changes, from Lucy to Luisa to Ames. At various times we see her receive and ignore phone calls from contacts with her same name; once she answers a voicemail just to hear that same mumbling man talking aboutĀ āone question to answerā, which she does not acknowledge.Ā
Here is another piece of the puzzle: Itās as if Jake isnāt quite sure who or what he wants his girlfriend to be. Itās clear that he wants her to be impressive in some way, important. Lucyās voice-over even takes him to task for this: He wants to be perceived as someone who is loved by someone who is perceived as successful, so that her success can validate his existence. If he is loved by someone valuable, then he becomes valuable. Itās interesting, too, that the things she likes and is good at he, too, is good at or interested in. Because she is a reflection of his psyche, of course, and perhaps because he cannot imagine anything outside his experience -- or perhaps he feels inadequate in his interests and canāt help but invent a partner who outshines him at every opportunity. At one point, Lucy finds an art studio with abandoned, neglected paintings heās finished, sitting self-consciously next to professional work that they donāt live up to. Nearby is a washing machine full of janitor uniforms, a painful (or at least soggy) reminder of his failed ambitions.Ā
The circumstances of their visit change a bit, too, as the night progresses. Jakeās parents age and de-age dramatically throughout the evening. We see them young and excited for him to finally have a girlfriend (acknowledging that he never had many friends, referencing at one point his 50th birthday, which he is quick to correct to 20th), then old and decrepit, the father succumbing to advanced dementia, the mother wheelchair bound and barely lucid, or else hearing intense whispering that may be tinnitus or psychosis. In the end, the mother has clearly died (or is she sleeping?) and a weepy Jake decides it is time to go, that being here has become unbearable.Ā
As they dally on their way home, driving through a terrible storm, Lucy repeatedly insists that she wants to go home and Jake repeatedly asks,Ā āBack to the farm?ā to her growing agitation. I think itās fair to assume that Jake, poor lonely old man Jake, likely grew up on that farm, and, without a wife and kids of his own, spent his life tending to his ailing parents and watching them disintegrate and die. He knows the farm is no longer home, but he canāt seem to think of anything else in those terms. Here is a man who, seemingly, longed to escape his life, but never got any further away than the high school just up the road.Ā
I think there is at least some textual evidence for a queer reading of the film, too. At a couple points in their conversations, Jake gets prickly about references to homosexuality -- at one point challenging the use of the wordĀ āsissy,ā at another arguing against an old-fashioned belief that homosexuality might derive from being a mamaās boy. He has a deep knowledge of musical theater and at various times aligns himself with Oklahoma especially. Given his presumed life-long bachelor status, I think itās reasonable to guess that he either is a closeted gay man or else a man who, in falling outside expected gender norms, has been accused of being gay -- either way, ending up in feeling lonely and awkward around women. His Lucy fantasies seem to suggest that at least a part of him thinks,Ā āIf only I could have met the right girl, my life could have been good,ā a viewpoint that can be read as incel logic, deeply closeted thinking/internalized homophobia, or both.Ā
At one point, he fantasizes about accepting a reward, with an acceptance speech ripped off word-for-word from the film A Beautiful Mind. Given that the film is about a neurodivergent individual who nevertheless does amazing things, itās easy to guess why Jake might relate to it. And that the text of the speech touches on the same idea -- that he succeeded due to the love and support of a partner -- the inverse seems true in Jakeās mind, according to one sort of logic: Since he did not have that love and support, he could not do great things.Ā
Jake also may be something of a pervert, or else may see himself as such. Toward the climax of the film, Lucy enters the school in search of Jake and instead finds the janitor, who asks him to describe the boyfriend sheās looking for. Instead she explains how they met, which was really just an inconsequential meeting with some awkward guy who hit on her, an unwanted advance. Is this a true story? Has the Lucy of his fantasy this entire time been some woman he only vaguely interacted with once and built a whole story around in his mind? or is this just more of his self-loathing bubbling up to the surface? Itās hard to say -- but it is clear regardless that he perceives himself as pathetic and creepy, a self-view thatās further supported by the way he interacts with some young girls working at an ice cream shop -- an interaction he makes Lucy do on his behalf, becauseĀ āthey wonāt come if they know itās meā despite him clearly having been here many times.Ā
There is more -- so much more. References to films, songs, books, poems, all of them things that have built up and bolstered his inner world but which reflect that same self-loathing and misery that colors his life. It would take repeated viewings with Google close at hand to catch all of the references and their meanings, but the overall picture they present adds up to things Iāve pointed out already: Here is a lonely, sensitive, intelligent guy who never lived up to his potential, who thinks the source of his misery is his inability to be loved by the right person, and who has realized now, far too late in his life, that there is no way to fix what he has become.Ā
And that is the final, most poignant tragedy of the story.Ā
Early in the film, he tells a story about some pigs on the farm. The pigs had been neglected for a little while, his father too busy to tend to them properly. When he does finally check in on them, he finds them unable to stand. Their bellies are rotten, crawling through with maggots; their inability to move, to do something, has left them to be eaten from the inside.Ā
One of these pigs -- in a cheerful, animated presence -- appears at the end to guide him, psychopomp style, toward his presumed death. We see janitor Jake in his car in a bitter storm, parked outside the high school where he works. He could start the car and drive away, but instead he sets his keys down and simply sits in the cold. We see him begin to undress, ripping his clothes off as he becomes increasingly disoriented -- signs of advanced hypothermia. Then the pig arrives to lead him back to the school, where he gives a final performance in Oklahoma, performing a musical number about Jud -- the filmās antagonist, a bit of an incel himself, a rotten man who lusts inappropriately after the wrong girl -- but perhaps to Jake he is the hero instead?Ā
To me, Jakeās mumbled question at the beginning -- just one question, one answer -- is:Ā āIs today the day I die?āĀ
He, too, is thinking of ending things. And just like Lucy, who stays in her relationship even though she knows itās doomed, whose inaction becomes a type of self-harm, Jake ultimately commits a passive sort of suicide. He does not actively kill himself; by freezing to death in his car, he simply refuses to do anything to save his life. Just like the pig, he has allowed himself to fester from inaction, now beyond any point of salvation.Ā
In a weird way, I think Iām Thinking of Ending Things shares many similar themes with Midsommar, or at least with Christianās story arc in Midsommar. Itās a warning against staying in a relationship that you know has gone sour -- and, in more general terms, against allowing yourself to be trapped and stagnated in a situation that will cause you harm. That a time will indeed come when it is too late to do anything. That you must act now, while you can, before things become so rotten that you cannot escape.Ā
Anyway. There is so much more to unpack from this film. Iād love to talk about it more with anyone interested!Ā

hey!!! are you looking for new music to listen to? are you interested in jumping on the bandwagon of an artist before they blow up so that you can sayĀ āhey, i found those guys when they posted a self-promo post on tumblr dot com in the year of our lord 2020ā²? does listening to People sing about their Feelings appeal to you? then read on my friend!! unless you hate music. in which case, probably best to keep scrolling.Ā
hi! weāre a band from south london called bears in trees. my nameās nick. iām writing this (iām the one below, on the right). this might be sorta long, but hear me out.
weāve been a band since we were 17. we started off writing songs in iainās basement (theyāre the ginger one w/ the dope mullet) after school. we would just write about the things that matter to us, and weād write music as long as people listened. and people have been listening. which is quite frankly astounding but, ykno. roll w/ the punches.
if you were wondering, we write songs about:
- becoming friends with worms!
- starting campfires in gardens!
- climbing rooftops!
- realising youāre deserving of love!
just the stuff that matters to us.
weāve been on tumblr since 2014 (and we were running fandom blogs waaay before then too) and being able to support a community that wasnāt there for us when we were growing up is what matters to us. we have a discord server where we have film nights, a minecraft evenings, and just general hangs for everyone. as long as youāre kind to bugs, youāre welcome. and if youāre a fan of us youāre called a sandbox - itās hard to explain why but youāll get it.Ā
anyway, weāre really hoping 2021 is gonna be our year. 2020 has already been very strange for us - we got signed to a record label called counter intuitive that we love very dearly, and made a lot of new friends, and everything is looking really positive. so if you want to get into a band before they get big and sell out, maybe weāre a shot! i mean, also maybe that wont happen. but weāre hoping that one day this will be our livelihood and weāre gonna keep trying.
to that end, itād mean a lot if you could reblog this or tell a friend about us who might be interested. we donāt have a lot of money and anyway, itād be pretty dumb to try and pay yr way to success. weāre just here vibing. hopefully you can vibe in our general proximity too. but ykno, no pressure!
you can listen to us here.Ā you can join our discord server here.Ā and if you just want to tell us whatās up, our inbox is open too.
hopefully weāll catch ya around.Ā

Get to Know the Blogger
Thanks @redmyeyes ! I donāt get tagged for these things often, so yay! Note that I changed some of the asks on here as some of them bored me beyond acceptability.
About Me
Name: You may call meā¦catnipster
Sign: Scorpio
Height: 5'7ā
Time zone: The least populated but the best of all time zones, US Mountain
Favorite band/artists: The Who, David Bowie, Screaming Trees, Paul Kelly, Queens of the Stone Age, Trail of Dead, so many more.
Last movie: āFire Island.ā It was OK. I donāt see as many movies as I used to pre-Covid. For one thing, I used to go weekly with my Dad. Now heās afraid to leave his apartment. Not that there are any good movies to see in the theater anyway. Last one I saw in the theater: āNope.ā Meh. There was a lot of water footage on stuff that maybe was symbolic? But otherwise irrelevant?
Favorite movie: My old standby has been āA Clockwork Orange.ā The interesting thing about this movie is how disturbing it is. I first saw it when I was 12, and I found it less disturbing then than I did when I was more mature. I have to put a word in for āThe Death of Stalin.ā I feel like no one saw this, and itās the funniest movie Iāve ever seen. In a black comedy way. I also love āMad Max: Fury Road,ā āBladerunner: 2049,ā āLast of the Mohicans,ā and many more.
Last shows: I just watched Supernatural 11x1 on my umpteenth rewatch. Partway through The Sandman. The Rehearsal. Primal. Evil. Uncoupled. Blown Away. Great Pottery Throw Down. The Late Show. Sex Lives of College Girls. Iron Chef.
When I created this blog: May 2021. Iām not really an oversharer. Much.
What I post: Pretty Dean and Jensen pictures. Great shots of Sam and Dean. The occasional wincest art. Wincest fic recommendations. The occasional recap or essay.
Last thing I googled: ādeficiency caused by corn consumptionā (answer: Pellagra). I was talking to a friend about how skeptical I am of all supplements. But I did mention that Pellagra was a real problem in the US south in the early 1900s.
Do I get asks: Once? Apparently my air of mystery is off-putting.
Following: 105
Average hours of sleep: 7 if Iām lucky. I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and then I canāt turn my brain off. My āfavoriteā is rehearsing conversations; or rehearsing explaining the history of the Tudors or network routing to an imaginary audience.
Instruments: My favorite is singing. But I did play electric bass for a little while. I wasnāt very good, but I was proud of myself for singing and playing at the same time in the terrible garage band I was in. We never played live. We covered The White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, David Bowie, U2, Donovan, The Cars, Devo, Arctic Monkeys, and so on. Our previous lineup was an obscure psychedelia cover band. I canāt believe I sang āMind Flowers.ā
What Iām wearing: Iām almost always overdressed, which isnāt really the ālookā around here. My uniform is a jersey wrap dress. I have like 30 of them in various prints. The secret is that theyāre really comfortable. Beats yoga pants.
Dream job: I used to dream about being a home decorator or house flipper. But I know that if I had to cater to other peopleās tastes, Iād hate it. I donāt know that thereās any money in that anyway.
Dream trip: Japan. Iām a big fan of classic Japanese cinema. But a few things: Iām fat, and I would feel insecure about my size. Also my back sucks. Also, my husband hates crowds. Also, expensive. Also, I really like comfort.
Nationality: American
Favorite songs: Didnāt we already list favorite bands? I donāt really like the current hit makers. I kind of think when old fogies listen to the latest music itās a little try-hard.
Last book I read: Consider Phlebus by Iain M. Banks. Iāve read it a few times. Iāve been in a fan-fiction hole for a couple of years now, so my book reading has really slowed down. I love science fiction, and mysteries to a lesser extent. Iām a huge fan of Jack Vance. Iām looking forward to the next Naomi Novik book. My book club book is The Lost Apothecary (I am always really skeptical about reading ābest sellerā type books, because they arenāt always to my taste. I did like A Gentleman in Moscow, which was one of those. And now Ewan McGregor (ā¤ļø) is going to star in the series!) Queued up: Bad Sex, the Fever of the World and a lot more. @lovetheirloves mentioned rereading the Raven Boys, so I might do so too. The weird thing is I recently loaded all of my favorite wincest fics on my Kobo, and itās weird seeing The Light of Munin next to The Lincoln Highway.
3 fictional universes Iād live in: Middle Earth. I was pretty entranced by the Lord of the Rings back in the day. Similarly, I loved the Ursula LeGuin book The Beginning Place, and I wanted to pass over the creek into that twilight world. Iām not thinking of a thirdā¦
