Civil Engineering
As a survey tech/engineering tech in utility companies, highway departments, energy sector work, and construction I have seen the beautiful and marvelous things we can create to better society. I'm writing after reading more and more about the extensive and sophisticated tunneling that has been engineered under Gaza by Hamas. I'm writing to ask if the American Society of Civil Engineers would publicly denounce this perversion of the trade. As someone who takes enormous pride in the capacity to engineer systems to improve life I'd like to see ASCE and sibling organizations publish statements calling out the gross misuse of civil engineering in order to disrupt, terrorize and harm society by Hamas. Engineering and resources that could have helped make Gaza a healthier, more livable place, less conducive to extremist ideologies and doom. Engineering that could have laid water and sewer lines, gas pipes and electrical connections, better roads and walkways. Engineering that would have uplifted the masses of people now displaced or killed in fighting that didn't have to happen.
ASCE code of Ethics, Preamble:
Engineers govern their professional careers on the following fundamental principles:
+ create safe, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure;
+ treat all persons with respect, dignity, and fairness in a manner that fosters equitable participation without regard to personal identity;
+consider the current and anticipated needs of society; and
+ utilize their knowledge and skills to enhance the quality of life for humanity.

JEC continues to make its blue print through making links for teaching collaboration, internship outreach training, Articulation, lesson plans, online and offline exchanges of information in the form of seminars, workshops, expert lectures etc. Efforts are being made through faculty & top management to have some collaboration and linkage with reputed professional organizations to derive inputs through having interaction in the diverse areas of research for the welfare of the students & faculty members. The organization thus motivates the faculty and students to become life members of the societies. Some of the professional associations / societies, where our faculty and students are members. We are always in touch with happenings around the globe with dedicated in house teams which collect latest ongoing activities and initiatives. As a trend setting organization, we have already some sort of relationships with the following bodies professionally. The International Association of Engineers (IAENG) is a non-profit international association for engineers and computer scientists. IAENG was founded by a group of engineers and computer scientists in 1968, originally as a private club network for its founding members. Nowadays, IAENG has its secretariat office in Hong Kong with more than 140,000 members and holds the annual congress World Congress on Engineering for the engineering research communities. #students #teaching #internship #training #management #engineering #research #collaboration #network #engineers #admissionopen #admissionsopen #universities #jec #students #admission #admission2022 #admissions #admissionsopen202223 #cse2022 #mechanicalengineering #electricalengineering #computerscienceengineering #electronicsengineering #informationtechnologies #emergingtechnologies #civilengineering

Attention and Engagement in Social Media
CAPTURING ATTENTION IN SOCIAL MEDIA
Capturing attention in social media is presenting content in a way that draws users in. In order to get followers, likes, shares, replies, etc., It is important because without capturing attention, the account, or page, will be overlooked.
One of the challenges faced in capturing attention in social media, is the fact that many viewers have short attention spans. Users of social media generally scroll quickly through their feed of posts made by friends, family, and other accounts they follow.
Strategies for gaining viewer attention are:
1. Utilizing the mere exposure effect theory (Zajonc, 2001). When an individual is shown something repeatedly, the more likely the individual is to favor it. This is done by posting as often as possible to your account, and by re-posting other people’s content
2. Use visuals that will stand out (images, color schemes, font) (Chua & Banerjee, 2015).
3. Create a unique username
MAINTAINING ENGAGEMENT IN SOCIAL MEDIA
Securing engagement in social media means that an account keeps other users’ interest in the content they post. It is important because the success of the accounts is dependent on the amount of followers they have. The more followers, the more likes, shares, and comments the account will gain, continuing its success.
Strategies for social media engagement include:
1) The use of hashtags and mentions of other users in posts (Lahuerta-Otero & Cordero-Gutierrez, 2016).
2) Creating contests
3) Joining an online community (Hall-Phillips et al., 2016).

Semalam sebelum dia ujian tesis, kita masih kontak-kontakan, saya membantunya merangkai slide, via dropbox.

Development of an Economical Automatic Temperature and Time Control Multipurpose Dryer | Chapter 06 | Current Research in Science and Technology Vol. 2
Many dryers exist in the open markets for drying several agricultural crops in Africa. Most of them have their limitations and complexities. The significant ones are expensive and cannot be afford by the peasant farmers. Those developed locally are inefficient especially where temperature control is required. There is need to develop appropriate systems that will ensure effective temperature control without compromising the quality parameters of products. Time control is also a challenge due to unstable power supply which result to calculation of drying time not the same as working hours of the dryer for existing dryers. A digital microprocessor base temperature control and time control dryer has been developed and fabricated for drying any type of biomaterial at varying temperature range using locally available materials. The fabricated temperature and time control multipurpose dryer was test to ascertain its performance, the preset temperature control the ON/OFF the heating helix in the drying chamber within room temperature to 110°C and the temperature control was compared with three different types of digital temperature meters. The time control was also tested to clock only when the dryer is powered. Some selected biomaterial (Cassava, maize, cocoyam) with moisture content between 13 - 26% MCwb was dried for an average time of about 6-8 hours at 60°c temperature and the air velocity of the drying process was 0.4-0.75 m/s2.
