Charity Blood Drive

Today was iBlood's Annual Commemorative Blood Drive.

It was SUPER busy. I was shocked at just how successful it was.

I think the only other charity event I saw more people at was the downtown homeless breakfast a few months back (I learned how to make some pretty mean eggs that day).

Charity work is exhausting, but always extremely fulfilling.

It's hard to do as much as I used to with my new part-time.

Maybe I can convince my new company to start it's own charity.

Then I could get the best of both worlds.

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, January 19 (PIA) - This  City's Ilagan Blood Depository System(IBloodS) has generated a total of 431 blood bags during its recent bloodletting activity.

Paul Bacungan, City Information Officer, said that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the city government did not hamper the conduct of bloodletting activity last January 15, 2021 and attended by various sectors from the city.

Bacungan said the blood that were generated  from the donors will be used by Ilagueños who are in dire need of blood especially those who are sick and need immediate transfusion.

The bloodletting activity is conducted quarterly each year in partnership with the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) and consistently awarded with SANDUGO award annually.

Bacungan said the IBloodS is a worthy, life-saving project and an institutionalized activity of the City Government which started in  2004. (BME/MGE - PIA-2/Isabela)

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Feb. 16 (PIA)—A total of 644 units of blood were successfully extracted by the city government of Ilagan during its two-day bloodletting activity conducted last January.

City of Ilagan Information Officer Paul Bacungan said the bloodletting activity aimed to collect enough blood supply for its 'IBloodS' or Ilagan Blood Depository System (Ibloods).

He said the IBloods, which is now institutionalized, is a life-saving program of the city government that started in 2004 by Mayor Josemarie L. Diaz.

“This activity is already institutionalized and many Ilagueños have already benefitted from this program since it has started. Because of this activity,  the city government has been a SANDUGO awardee for many years now,” Bacungan said.

He expressed thanks to all Ilagueños and employees from different government agencies who are regularly donating blood during the city's annual bloodletting activity. (MDCT/MGE/PIA-2/Isabela)
