fanfic writer questions
Thanks so much for the tag @sideguitars
1- How many works do you have on AO3?
Twenty. A good mix of one-shots and longer fics that I will finish someday...
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
534,441
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Supergirl but I've dabbled with Legends of Tomorrow and have a few unpublished fics for different fandoms that I might share
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
A Rich Girl With Issues (I swear I'm almost done with the last chapter. The flu kicked my ass but I'm finishing up. My weird Lena becomes a vigilante fic. I still am amazed that people like it as much as they do)
Maybe I'm Too Afraid to Admit It (Kind of cute Kara realizes she has feelings for Lena. I really don't know why this one resonated with so many people)
Somewhere You Can't Follow (My weird (and poorly written) Legends and Supergirl crossover. I would love to go back and actually rewrite large bits of this but the dialogue is on point, at least. Oh and Lena gets to see her mom again so that's a plus)
Denial is Not Just a River in Egypt (I have no memory of this place fic)
Nothing Gold Can Stay (My one and only kidfic but I love it to pieces)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I do and I don't. I'm a lot more offline than I was when I first started writing and if too much time passes, I feel weird about responding since I feel like I'm bothering people but I am trying to be better about it. Because I really do cherish each one
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably nothing I've posted yet would count but I do have one that I plan to post soon-ish that's so angsty I took a year to decide whether or not to share it.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think all of my one-shots have pretty standard happy endings. I think I'll say that either Rich Girl or Nothing Gold Can Stay will have the happiest endings (in my opinion) Wait (a little longer) and see
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I'll get the occasional weird comment. Nothing out of the ordinary. I did get a really rude bookmark once that kind of made me laugh. They hated the story yet still chose to bookmark it which is a choice.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I dabble in it. There's a snippet floating around somewhere on tumblr that I'm too lazy to find. I'll share it once I finish the first chapter. It's a bit out of my wheelhouse but its fun? Very different kind of writing than what I'm used to.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I write a lot of crossovers. I think when I write fic, I want to see something a little strange and unique that I can't find elsewhere. I'm working on a fic now where Kara meets Matt Murdock, that's not an interaction I ever envisioned myself writing.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so? To be fair, I haven't ever cared enough to check. I don't think I'm popular enough to get a fic stolen xD
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I have! Someone translated one of my fics into Russian. I was incredibly flattered that they liked it enough to do so.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, and I think it's mostly because I'm quite a selfish writer? I know what and how I want to write so collaboration is quite difficult. Maybe I still have some leftover trauma from all the group projects of my past.
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
Supercorp, if that wasn't very, very obvious.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I'll finish them all!
16. What are your writing strengths?
I really don't know and that's not just me being modest. I don't really think I do anything particularly well?
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Being succinct. Every ficlet wants to be a multi-chaptered story and every multi-chaptered story wants to be a novel
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I think if implemented well it can be a great addition. If it's merely tacked on, however... I feel it not only doesn't add anything to the story but it makes the reader aware that they're reading a story. A bit of the magic is lost in the clunky execution.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
On AO3 Supercorp but I've dabbled in fandom for years and years. There's ancient Xena fic somewhere in my mother's basement
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Probably has to be Rich Girl but I really am fond of Swear Not by the Moon, as well. I've really enjoyed expanding the scope of Supergirl's world a bit and watching the characters slowly grow over the course of the story
No-pressure tags, of course: I never know who to tag in these until I finish these but if you like @rustingcat @vox-ex @sazernac

20 fic writer questions
Thanks to @daisymae-12 @inexplicablymine @suseagull04 for the tag!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Nineteen! Really spiked this year
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
40,581
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Red, White and Royal Blue currently and actively. I have written for All for the Game, Shadowhunters (Books), and Hispanic MCYT roleplay server
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
las formas de llamarte amor (Red, White and Royal Blue) My first fic in this fandom, written on a whim two days after joining tbs, and I still love it as much you are an idiot (i missed you) (All for the Game) This fic is the definition of "write the fic you want to see in the world" Minyard-Josten rivalry my beloved i don't want you to be a secret (but i want them to shut up) (All for the Game) the sequel to the one above, another instance of write the fic you want to see in the world really i am ignoring the next one arbitrarily sue me a train of thought (of things not to forget) (Red, White and Royal Blue) This fic There's something so special about projecting things about yourself in a fictional character, the Alex child of divorce fic that I pulled from the depths of my soul and every song reminds me of you (Red, White and Royal Blue) a 3 + 1, an ode to Alex and the music that reminds him of Henry.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try, that's the keyword here. I love getting comments and I try to respond as much as I can but I am extremely slow, so if you comment know you will get an answer someday and that I really really appreciate you
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I am a softie at heart so most of my fics have at least hopeful endings but with that being said I wrote a MCD for Karmaland that it's still the saddest thing I've written.
there's also a train of thought (of things not to forget) that seems to have brought back some memories from other children of divorce and Rhys did call it emo (love you Rhys)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think most of my fics have a happy ending, if I could point to a happiest it'd probably be Y hace falta que te diga que me muero (por tener algo contigo) High School AU and a declaration of love that really is just fluff
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, and thank God because I would cry
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No. My dabble into smut is limited to one fic I will not mention and a drabble that Jamie helped me write because I am just not built for it. That being said it doesn't keep me from trying and failing
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
PJO x RWRB??? maybe. I really don't write crossovers
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Two of my AFTG fics where translated into Russian! I was very honoured to see someone wanted to translate one of my fics
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, I have before and that one time was awful BUT I am currently co-writing Super Six and the Siren's Call aka the most amazing pjo au with @inexplicablymine and @happiness-of-the-pursuit and this is the most fun thing ever
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
This really changes every time, it's a mystery but Firstprince is my current favourite
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have two Six of Crows WIPs that I really want to finish, I had very solid ideas that just ~dissapeared~
and a Henry character study of his relationship with his identity and coming out that's been sitting in my docs since march-ish
16. What are your writing strengths?
Outlines. There really isn't anything I take so much care of than a carefully crafted outline that works as a map for me, so much so that I gave a fun little masterclass in the brownstone server yesterday ashdgdf
And when it comes to writing dialogues come very easy to me, and feelings™ I pride myself on having made people cry with my writing before and I'll do it again
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Actions. Actions are the death of me, I leave a lot of [something something x happens] as I write because otherwise I get stuck. This paired with dialogue tags, I just can't find enough synonyms for "said"
Can English be a weakness? hdhgdshjsz I think I get stuck a lot in vocabulary sometimes, and just general grammar, i am getting better at it tho practice really does make perfect but very much inevitable since I write in a second language
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I will not let an opportunity to write dialogue in Spanish in a fic, if it fits within the context I am adding it. RWRB really has me living my best life with this. Now, for other languages I don't add anything beyond words I might be familiar with.
I love reading fics with lines in Spanish, even if they are not perfect, they make me happy and I love clocking out other hispanics in fandom. Also I love helping people if they need help with Spanish, at any point for anything just ask and I'll run
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Violetta, argentinian telenovela, I have mentioned this before and even if the writing was awful I am glad I started
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
This is like the hardest question because I have different favourites for different reasons, but I do think this is my favourite one for now un hilo de pensamientos (de cosas que no se deben olvidar) the Spanish version, because it just feels closer to me
No pressure tags but I'd love to see your answers! @raysletters @happiness-of-the-pursuit @heybuddy-drabbles @14carrotghoul @sherryvalli @affectionatelyrs @littlemisskittentoes

Fic author interview! I was tagged by @what-alchemy - thank you! No-pressure tagging @phdmama, @incognitajones, @alessandriana, @lynne-monstr, and anyone else who wants to play.
How many works do you have on AO3?
349 publically, maybe a dozen more in anon collections, and two or three that I've orphaned for various reasons.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
1,349,113, ye gods.
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Calamity's Child (Stranger Things) - 7249 kudos
Body of Memory (Shadowhunters) - 5029 kudos
Star of the Masquerade (Stranger Things) - 4923 kudos
lost souls and reverie (The Witcher - TV) - 3118 kudos
So Newly Charming (Stranger Things) - 2274 kudos
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I used to, but I've been really bad about it in the past year or so. I do read and cherish every comment I get, though.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Hard to say! There are a couple of Supernatural ficlets from ~13 years ago with fairly fucked up endings. Of my somewhat recent fic, probably either Empty or Bonny Mad Boys (both for Shadowhunters), with a special mention for my zombie apocalypse Buddie fic, where the dead men lost their bones, although that does at least allow for the possibility of a happy(ish) ending.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Honestly, the vast majority of my fic has happy endings, even when I put them through the wringer first.
7. Do you write crossovers?
I've written a few, mostly for various fic challenges. It's not something I do all that often though.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Oh, yeah. Death threats, even! Shadowhunters fandom was weirdly unhinged about this.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Um, yes. XD
I used to write smut very rarely, and feel extremely awkward about it, and then I decided to write 100k words worth of fills for the Clowntown kinkmeme, and that pretty much cured me of that.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know?
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, several, into a handful of different languages. Always very exciting! I link back if I know about them.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not one that ever actually got posted.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I have been in fandom wayyyy too long to answer this, lol.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I have a really angsty Reddie cheating fic that I wrote like 20k words of and then abandoned. I sometimes think about returning to it, but honestly I probably won't.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I think I write pretty good dialogue - it's definitely one of the things I enjoy the most. Also action and smut, which IMO are pretty similar from a logistical standpoint.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I am so bad at anything resembling plotting. SO bad. And frankly I always feel like my fluff is stilted and saccharine; I do much better with angst, generally speaking.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I've done it before, but I probably wouldn't now, not the least because I'm really not fluent enough in any other language to be worth it.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
That I actually posted? LOTR RPF. Thankfully, that's been lost to the defunct forums of 2002. I've been writing fic just for my own entertainment pretty much as long as I've been able to read, though.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Good Omens! I've read a fair amount of fic, but I didn't really get immersed in the fandom until after season 2. I have a couple of ideas that I'm playing around with, but I don't completely feel like I've got the character voices down yet.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written
This changes OFTEN. I think right now, So Newly Charming is the fic I've written most recently that actually came out exactly how I wanted it to. I can reread it without cringing, which is a rarity for me.

[20 Question Fic Writer Tag]
Tagged by @aeide and @ainulindaelynn 💖 I did this one a few months ago but a few answers have changed since then so I'll update those. 😊
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Six now! Four one-shots, a short-ish multi-chapter which was supposed to be a one-shot that got away from me, and my longfic which at this point I should have just waited to post but am definitely still chipping away at.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
33,030 which is almost double my count from a few months ago. Woaaaaaaaaahhhh
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Still Assassin's Creed, now dipping into Baldur's Gate 3 as well.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Still the same five fics in the same order but with slightly different numbers:
Hideaway - 149
Bright Skies - 139
Press On, Move Along - 94
Out of the Cold - 43
Honor Bound - 29
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes! Always.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Still Press On, Move Along.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Still Hideaway.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Still hate-free, for now.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Sure do 💀 and I've posted some of it since the last time I did this. I think the only way I can really describe it is emotionally-charged, because if I'm going to horny jail it will at the very least be in service of some kind of character development. 😭
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Still occasionally poke away at the AC x Star Wars AU, but I'm not super invested in it right now. But I'm sure that will change as soon as a new Star Wars thing comes out. Since I last did this I also went digging through the depths of my writing folder and found a Walking Dead x MCU crossover that I must have started when I was like 14 years old. Absolute fucking horror show that I am so very thankful I never wrote enough to post. 🤡
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Still no, as far as I'm aware.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, except for yelling back and forth about ideas with friends. I would probably be open to it but also maybe not because I know I am extremely unreliable.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Saying "all-time" favourite feels a bit much, but as far as mental real estate and also just sheer number of words written, Leovor far surpasses any other ship I've been into. 🧍🏻♀️
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Since I did that ask game a few weeks ago, the Inquisitor Ahsoka/Rex starting a clone rebellion/post TCW AU has been on my mind. But I know that, realistically speaking, I'm unlikely to ever be invested enough to actually sit down and write it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm trying to make a point to read more fiction and while it's possible that the few books I've read thus far lately just haven't been particularly good, it's certainly made me way more confident in my ability to write dialogue that feels like it would be spoken by real live humans and not aliens pretending to be humans. Similar deal with internal monologues. I'm convinced that none of these authors read their work aloud.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Still generally the same—overthinking comma usage, editing while I write and therefore being very slow, going back and forth between being stuck because I didn't plan enough and feeling stifled because I planned too much. Etc etc.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I try to avoid it as much as possible, with the exception being words or phrases that are used a lot in canon.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Still Marvel :(
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Honor Bound is still my baby, but I didn't expect to actually like A Different Kind of Solace as much as I do, mostly because I didn't really go into writing it expecting to hit the emotional notes that it does. Also still Out of the Cold. There are some banger lines there.
Not tagging anyone because this one has gone around a few times recently but if you want to do it, you're welcome to pretend I tagged you. 😌

20 questions writer meme
Trying to get back into putting words onto a page, so why not do a bit of retrospective? Can't hurt, at least, lmao.
For anyone that isn't aware or would like to browse tags and summaries before clicking the direct links below, I am Pandelion on Ao3. My answers below are based on my Ao3 fics, for the most part. 1. How many works do you have on AO3? 35
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 207,935 (arguably, only 150k are mine due to cowritten fic)
3. What fandoms do you write for? Bleach and Yin Yang Master most recently, but I've previously written for SPN, MCU, Teen Wolf, LoTR and a number of other fandoms over the last almost twenty years.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Begins A New Beginning (Teen Wolf, 3.2k words, alternate canon)
2. The Captain And The Dragon (Avengers, 600 words, fantasy AU ficlet)
3. kiss with a fist (better than none) (Bleach, 5.5k words, canon divergent post-Aizen)
4. Here There Be Dragons (Vikings, 6.4k words, alt. canon, dragon!Athelstan)
5. Making It Work (Avengers, 5.2k words, daemon AU where Phil Coulson is Fury's daemon)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try to and I absolutely read every single comment I get, but answering them doesn't always happen for one reason or another.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I enjoy a good spot of angst, but I rarely end on it. That said, i will not replace (what i lost in you) and it's sequel hands shaking with regret (i've held this dream) for the Yin Yang Master fandom is probably the winner.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hmm, probably 'neath the love-light gleam, which was written for a Bleach Secret Santa gift exchange and is almost entirely fluff.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Haven't yet!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? The kind that doesn't get posted in public fics lmao. Honestly, I think only 2 or 3 of the fics I've posted to Ao3 even have sexual content beyond like, kissing and holding hands. The one fic that is actually marked as Explicit is probably surprisingly non-vanilla-ish for being the only one I've posted? But yeah, most of my explicit writing happens outside of Ao3.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I was going to say yes, but then realized that I haven't written an actual crossover since my LJ days. I usually write AUs based on other existing media, such as daemon AUs (His Dark Materials) or something like my rewriting of The Mummy (1999) with Bleach characters. That said, I once wrote a SPN/Gundam Wing crossover, that's probably the craziest one I've written.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I have! One of my fics was translated into Polish last year. I don't read Polish, so I haven't been able to read it, but I'm super thrilled that someone liked it enough to do so!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I have one fic listed as co-written on Ao3, so technically yes, but I'm really on there more as part of the back-end development side, as my cowriter has done the vast majority of the actual writing. I love to rp, but actually co-writing is more difficult, in a way.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? Oh man, um. I'm going to say Grimmjow/Ichigo from Bleach, since their dynamic keeps pulling me back in, but honestly there are so many pairings that I gravitate back to again and again.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? There are so many WIPs in my gdocs that will never see the light of day, honestly. So many snippets of ideas and concepts that won't get fleshed out. I have two WIPs currently posted and I'm praying to get the inspiration/ability to finish them, so hopefully they won't join the list of never to be finished fics.
16. What are your writing strengths? World-building, for sure. I love settings, I love developing and establishing a world in a fic. And not in the, like, writing down all the details of the world sort of way, but in the broad strokes of character actions and interactions. I've also been told that my general style of writing is pretty great, but that might have been from a biased source lmao.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Pacing, most likely. Plot of any real sort. If you look at my Ao3, the vast majority of my fics are 5k or under, usually under 3k or so. I have such a hard time with long form fic, I have no idea how to properly pace things, I don't use outlines much at all, and constructing a plot is hard lmao. I much prefer to give little oneshots of a concept or something, leave the bigger plot implied and waiting in the wings.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? So hard! Doing a direct translation works for some things, but other stuff can be way too tangled up in the messiness of real language. I'd definitely prefer to have a native speaker that I can consult about it if I were to do anything with more than a phrase or two.
19. First fandom you wrote for? So, way back before I knew about ff.net or LiveJournal, way before Ao3 was a thing, I wrote what was effectively Dragonrider of Pern fic. After that, probably Rurouni Kenshin or Yu Yu Hakusho.
20. Favorite fic you've written? and the stars led me back to you (Bleach, 4.4k words, Grimmjow/Ichigo, space!au). I love all my fics, of course, but this one was just so good, very much a case of me writing something with myself as the intended audience. I reread it fairly often. kiss with a fist (better than none) is probably a fairly close runner-up, though, I am still so pleased with some of the dialogue and dynamics in that.

(Found) Family Dynamics
originally i was gonna post about the colors of everyone's dragons (that i've gotten to so far) after explaining dragon hierarchy, but i realized it would be easier to understand that if i explained some of the character dynamics here first. i will try to make this as clear as possible but if it's still confusing let me know & i'll do my best to clarify!
also yes the place where they live is just called "the settlement" for now i haven't come up with anything better ssshhhhhhh
Satoru is the heir to the Gojo clan. Reader & Suguru are his best friends and eventual romantic partners.
Suguru is an only child who gets brought to the settlement to train with the Gojo clan after he bonds with a single color dragon
Reader is an only child, but has lived in the settlement their whole life
SatoSugu, Reader, Nanami, Shoko, & Utahime all grew up and trained together.
Reader is obviously very close with SatoSugu, but they're almost as close with Shoko, and often work with Nanami. Readers sees them as siblings.
Nanami has a younger sister (an OC who will have very little impact on the plot) who he is very protective of, and who absolutely ADORES Yuji
Shoko & Utahime are very close. I'm planning on leaving their relationship kind of ambiguous but i don't think i'm very good at that lol so they will likely wind up as a background couple whoops
Yuji is from outside the settlement. He moves to the settlement after Nanami & Reader find him and rescue him after his village had been completely wiped out (Yuji was the only survivor left in the village). He's about 4 when this happens.
Nanami adopts Yuji because the boy refuses to leave his side, and Nanami is secretly glad he doesn't seem interested in living with any other families in the settlement, bc he's gotten rather attached to the sweet little gremlin
Sukuna is Yuji's older brother (like 15-ish years older than him; roughly 19 when Yuji is about 4). He does not die when their village is massacred, but he's not there when Yuji is rescued
Nanako and Mimiko are from the same village where Suguru was born. Their parents were friends with is parents, so he saw them fairly often when he would return to visit his family. Suguru takes them in when everyone in their village is wiped out, too (roughly a month after Yuji's rescue)
Megumi and Tsumiki are abandoned in the settlement by Toji (he's an enemy of the Gojo clan and basically leaves the kids as a sort of peace offering, or something. idk toji's not a good dad ok lol). Satoru realizes they're destined to become servants for his family for the rest of their lives if he doesn't do something, so he claims them as his wards
Toge is from a well to do family/minor clan in the settlement
Nobara is from a village just outside the settlement
Yuta gets shipped off to the settlement a few years after he bonds with his dragon (so about age 12-13) because they're "more trouble than they're worth" according to the leaders of the town where he grew up
Maki is from outside the settlement (being a Zenin and all) but she came to the settlement because she wanted to, not because she was forced to
Nobara, Yuji, Megumi, Tsumiki, Nanako, Mimiko, Maki, & Toge all train together. Yuta joins them after he gets somewhat comfortable in the settlement
they'll all be minors for the entirety of this fic (or at least what i've got in my head so far) so there won't be anything too suggestive or anything, but just know that Yuji is very affection with Gumi & likes to tell him that he loves him/Gumi's his favorite person in the world (after papa Nanami, of course). Nobara is also pretty affectionate with Maki. feel free to interpret that as you will.
THIS COULD BE CONSIDERED SPOILERS IF YOU'RE NOT CAUGHT UP ON THE ANIME SO BE WARNED
i don't think it's all that spoilery at this point but i wanted to give a warning just in case
Sukuna is the leader of a group of murderous marauders that become known as The Curses, due to their brutality and ruthlessness. this group includes Sukuna (obviously), Kenjaku, Mahito, Uraume, and Choso
Characters not mentioned here are either not included in this fic (yet or at all) or are inconsequential to the plot!
after triple-checking my google doc for this AU, it looks like i've covered all my bases here. but as always i am more than happy to answer questions you might have!
#dragon rider au#this was kind of a long one sorry!!! but it's crucial to understanding like. everything that happens so. y'know.#i haven't included any of the kyoto students yet on purpose bc idk how i would go abt doing that as of rn#also pretty much the same reason i haven't included yaga yuki or mei mei#& i've gone back and forth abt including haibara bc i feel like i don't have a good grasp on his vibe & i don't wanna do him dirty

20 questions for fic writers
Omg big tag game :D thanks for the tag @thetentaclecommander ♥
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
146.... 146!!!!!!! Its taken me 12 years to get that many...
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
468,189...... 8D and 1/4th of that... was all from Last Year, 2023, the year of Dracfield
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Well if I list all of the ones I have written for, its a pretty big list. But like... The Passenger, Renfield/Dracula media in general, Dead by Daylight, Stranger Things, Rise of the Guardians, Encanto, Gravity Falls, Pokemon... Lots of other misc horror media, too~
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
GOD can I skip this?? Because its a fast way for everyone to look at me and condemn me because the one thing all these fics have in common are problematic ships around One Type of Problematic and im anxious but like. Fuck it.
Living with Max - Camp Camp, MaxVid longfic, abandoned (For now) - 1893 Kudos When Dealing With Demons - Gravity Falls, BillDip Longfic - 1116 Kudos Late Night Visits - Gravity Falls, BillDip - 875 Kudos Keeping Secrets - Gravity Falls, BillDip - 798 Kudos A Sort of Welcome Distraction - Gravity Falls, BillDip - 754 Kudos
I aint linking them and if you go find them mind the content lmfao
5. Do you respond to comments?
I usually try to!! Sometimes! To at least half of them ;w; sometimes I just dunno what to say...
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
HAHA..OH BOY... that would be Si Tú No Estás Aquí an Encanto fic with double main character death so like. Heads Up if you read it. Proud of it but man it hurts
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
God I have to think uhhhh.. Probably Father's Day, a DBD AU fic that's tooth rottingly sweet, imo. I know Babies Ever After isn't for every character but I really do hold it close to my heart for Evan and Meg ;3;
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not in a while, but it's not uncommon. I write everything from Incest to underage to bestiality to snuff to necro... so it usually sets people off. Doesnt happen as often as it used to though
9. Do you write smut?
Looks at 85 of my 146 fics being marked Explicit
Yea
10. Do you write crossovers?
Sometimes! But it has to be an idea that reeeeally grabs me
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yep, have had some translated to Chinese, Russian, and Spanish
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yep, at least one published, partially finished long fic
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Thats a cruel thing to ask a bitch with ADHD
but I think it'd be BlackIce (Jack Frost x Black Ice) from Rise of the Guardians
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
HAHA ONE?
I have dozens that are half done or just a line in a document... Id love to finish them, but most will never see the light of day
16. What are your writing strengths?
God. idk. Tell me what my strengths are??
I'd like to say 'capturing characters voices'. I think im good at that...
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Probably writing action. I can see it so cool in my head but writing it down?? uggghghhghh
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't usually write dialogue in other languages BUT I have done it for Encanto fics! I usually try to find someone who speaks the language if I'm not confident in writing it but with Spanish I know my way around it enough to feel relatively confident.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter waaaaay back 2011-ish? on FF.Net lol. Always loved Drarry and Snarry, you can see even back then I had my Tastes figured out XD
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
idk man, I really don't. I've written a lot I enjoyed at this part, fics Ive gone back and read more than once! But I just cant make myself Pick one or even a top three.... So you'll JUST have to read all 146 and figure out which one YOU guys like (just avoid the ones that make you wanna die inside I wont blame you!)
I! AM not gonna tag anyone! Do this whole questionnaire if you want!! I love you guys! Thank you TTC I love you too!!!!!

Fic author interview! Thank you @vampirenaomi for the tag! I'm a bit late to the party, sorry.
Tagging @crimetimesteadicam, @dandunn and @carriagelamp!
1 How many works do you have on AO3?
I have 48 works there, and there's a few (including my very first long fic and very first NaNoWriMo novel) that are only on Fanfiction.net.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
562,503 words total. To be honest, considering the amount of long fics I've written, I'm a little surprised it isn't higher, but also I'm bad at estimation.
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Treasures of time - JigLup one-shot, emotional angst with a happy ending (221 kudos)
Up in the mountains - JiGoe getting together (197 kudos)
In the middle Part 2 - Polygang getting together (150 kudos)
We are beginning - Goemon POV Polygang fluff drabble (140 kudos)
How to make a gunman snap - JigLup not-quite-porn-without-a-plot one-shot (133 kudos)
It's mostly one-shots and old-ish long fics, which I am a bit surprised about - but then again, they have had more time to collect kudos.
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! Unless a comment is just two words and I don't know what to answer, I always reply, at least to say thank you.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I don't really write angsty ending. The closest to an angsty ending would be Adieu (a Netflix Lupin alternate ending one-shot).
EDIT I forgot about my entire MorMor period skjlsjkldjkl so yeah my angstiest fic is Bang Bang, a MorMor post-Reichenbach one-shot based on the song by Nancy Sinatra.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
They all end well, so I can't really designate a specific one.
7. Do you write crossovers?
I've written I think one crossover ever, a Discworld/Harry Potter fic way back in the day. I'm not gonna link it because it was bad, but it's on my FFnet if you're interested and you can read French.
However I have a BUNCH of AUs that I haven't written up into fics: Lupin III/Discworld, Lupin III/Ewilan's Quest, and an ooooooold MorMor (or Mor4)/X-Men AU that I did write a couple of unpublished one-shots for.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I haven't, thankfully!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I've written one smut scene several years ago, it was very difficult and awkward to do, but in retrospect I think the result was alright. I'm planning to try again. The past try and the upcoming one are both scenes in longer plotty fics, I've never written PWPs.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I've translated my own fics (usually from French to English)
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven't; but I did co-write half of an original novel with my best friend, and the possibility of finishing it isn't off the table.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
LUPIN III POLYGANG. And all variations thereof.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I started a Lupin III Polygang soulmate AU fic, I really want to carry on with it because I love that specific soulmate concept, but I don't really have a plan for what's going to happen in it; and wouldn't you know it, it's waaaayy more difficult to write a soulmate AU fic for five people than for two.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I think dialogue and banter; when I get in the right frame of mind, it practically writes itself. I'm pretty good at writing pacing in action scenes I think.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I tend to write looooooong paragraphs about character's feelings that kind of get out of hand.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I love doing it, and including foreign words, but I have to restrain myself otherwise my fics would be unreadable.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Discworld. I discovered fanfiction through a Discworld forum. Although to be honest, I think the first thing I ever wrote that qualified as fanfic was the begining and vague plot outline of a self-insert isekai next-gen story in the universe of Ewilan's Quest, my childhood favourite book series. Ewilan's Quest was a huge and formative part of my childhood, and the reason I wanted to become a writer as a kid. And Discworld was my favourite novel series after that, and it solidified my desire to write stories. Both series are still very dear to me; so it's unsurprising, and very fitting, that my introduction to fanfic and writing was these two fandoms.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I'd like to write a Zenigen fic, if I ever find a precise idea for it.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
That tends to change a lot. Lately, it would be Become, a one-shot about Lupin's journey of finding out he's trans after meeting Jigen; and Hanafuda, my ongoing WIP, a JiGoe florist/tattooist AU where Jigen and Goemon both quit crime before they met and are trying to juggle between their new normal lives, their dark pasts, and what they really want out of life... and their pesky little feelings for each other.

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks @medusasfinalgirl for tagging me!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 16 atm! (1 anonymous) Which is wild to me. English was my least favourite subject in school.
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 198,609 which, again, absolutely wild.
3. What fandoms do you write for? At the minute, just stranger things. But my early fics were Game of Thrones and Bridgerton.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? I'm just going off ST fics so:
(Anything You) Want - friends to lovers mutual pining Nice (Just Ain't My Type) - silly celebrity rivals au (I Don't Have To Tell You But) You're The Only One - AYW college sequel This Be The Verse - on a theme of parenthood Stay - AYW Eddie POV
I only consider 2 of these to actually be amongst my "best" fics tho.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes! I definitely try my best to respond to everything as quickly as possible. I feel very honoured that there are people out there who take time out of their day to let me know they enjoyed. Makes my day every single time!!
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Oooh okay, Haunt Me, Then! (kinktober spectrophilia fic) for now, but it's very possible that She's Got A Boyfriend Anyway (classic cheating-on-Jason fic) might beat it when I get round to finishing it.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I don't know if any of my fics have particularly strong happy endings, but off the top of my head it's got to be This Be The Verse.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Defo not on hellcheer ones! Everyone's so nice here!!! <3 My very first fic got SO MUCH hate on it but that's because I wrote it when I was 17 and it WAS terrible.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Really never thought I would, but more of my fics have smut in them than not these days lol. Idk, something about hellcheer just really made me go ...these two should be going at it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I don't, and I'd be very surprised if I ever do tbh.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Nope!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope again!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I haven't, and I'm not really sure I can ever imagine myself co-writing.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? I mean, I've not written 13 fics for any ship other than hellcheer so that's something. In terms of longevity, Katniss/Peeta and Finnick/Annie still have the same effect on me as they did when I first read the book at like 13 years old.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? What a stressful question! I doubt I'll finish off Hard to Forgive (Hard to Forget) because it would be one of those proper multi-chapters (40k words ish by my estimates) and I just don't think I could do it.
16. What are your writing strengths? Hmm I'm not sure. I used to be quite good at setting a scene but I think I'm losing that a little. If I'm honest, recently I've been really proud of the sheer volume of what I've been writing and my willingness to venture out of my comfort zone.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? God, where to start. Weak dialogue, my repetitive writing style, difficulty writing endings, complete inability to do anything concisely. But I genuinely feel like I'm slowly improving bit by bit!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I did French and Spanish in school, French to a slightly higher level than Spanish, so I'd feel comfortable including either of those at a school level (like them trying out saying things like "at the weekend I like to go to the park" and "I have two brothers and no sisters" in a class) but wouldn't want to risk anything more complex!
19. First fandom you wrote for? The Hunger Games. I never posted it anywhere, but I still have my old drafts for fics that I look back on every now and again just to see how far I've come!
20. Favorite fic you've written? So hard to choose! This Be The Verse because it felt so immensely personal to write or Cherry (sapphic hellcheer) because it was a long time coming. Both are eclipsed by a soon-to-be-uploaded kinktober foot fic that I will reveal is called Heart and Sole (and yes it's as dumb and silly as the title implies)!
Okay that was fun! I'm not 100% sure on who I follow writes but I'm p sure @gingertumericlemon, @bibiche007 and @achilleanenjolras all do, so would love to hear your responses if you fancy it!

Thanks for the tag, @kuramakakashi! This is gonna be short because my writing history is unfancy, lmao
Tagging, if you feel so inclined: @kaiseaya, @n0tamused, @readerinsertfanfiction, @avversiera-writes, and everyone who would like to 😊
Under the cut for length!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Five.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
Oof. Roundabout 95.000 words. Yes, I have a problem with long fics.
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Seeing how I started in August-ish last year, just one, Naruto. Founder's era. But believe it or not, I have drafts where other main characters than Tobirama. 😉 I've been writing before that, though, just not fanfic/fandom specific stuff.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Well... I only got five published... but Leporina venatio has the most out of those.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! I love receiving comments and while sometimes I take a bit to reply, I enjoy doing so very much!!
6. What fic have you written with the angstiest ending?
It's not published (yet?). But it's based on a song and actually Madara centric. We'll see about that. Outside of fanfic work, I've done plenty of angst stuff, I guess?
7. What fic have you written with the happiest ending?
Well, all of my published fics have happy endings, but I suppose the Leash feels the most rewarding after all that happened? 😉
8. Do you write crossovers?
No, I don't see myself doing that.
9. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Hmm. I've gotten an, uh, ask once, I guess, but I would not classify that as hate. But I have noticed not very nice blog entries right after publishing works, I guess? To each their own. That's my motto.
10. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
The kinkiest stuff you can imagine Lmao, joking. I do - I have in the past, anyway. But whether or not I'll ever publish anything, eh. I don't think I'm comfortable with it.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, I don't think so.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but I want to! 😌
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I don't have one? I've never really shipped anything, I guess. At least not in a degree I'd call it shipping? I hope that makes sense.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
Oh man. I've got a lot of not-Naruto WIPs I won't ever touch again for personal reasons. I wish I could, but, yeah.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Uhm. You tell me. I guess ... sarcastic dialogue. And... angst injury descriptions. 😂 No, I've been told my writing draws people in so I guess my descriptions and the likes are good? I have a hard time judging my own writing, I read it too often.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Ah, easy. 1. Too long, 2. Too repetitive. I don't seem to be able to create chapters under 6k word count and (though this might be a language barrier) I tend to use words repetitively.
18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
If I spoke the language, yeah, sure. I don't trust translators. Or if I asked a friend to translate. Researching cultural background is another matter. I enjoy that a lot. 😊
19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Naruto.
20. What's your favorite fic that you've written?
Irenic. The possibilities an OC offers are just amazing and the story and the setting have become a very real, vivid thing to me. There's a lot I want to write there. Admittedly though, the Leash also holds a dear spot in my heart; it's pretty much all the tropes I love in a fic.
To be fair, outside of my published works, there are a handful of works I love dearly, as well.
20 [Fanfic Writer] Questions Game
i one thousand percent stole this from @depressedhatakekakashi when i saw it and sat down to answer them all now. i’ll put the whole thing under the cut because it’s l o n g, lol, but i’ll also tag a few folks if they’d like to play along. i’m only going with folks i know have relatively active ao3 accounts off the top of my head. if you wanna play, feel free to steal this shit same as i did. 😂
@myaekingheart @whatshernameis @chemmerson @kakashiswilloffire @kakashi-tsukuyomi
no pressure, obvs, but this was kind of fun! <3
