Ben 10: Popup Trivia/Enhanced Edition Update

Hello, Lost and Found followers! I've done some further research on the topic of these special editions of the episodes, and come to the conclusion that we're actually a lot closer to having them all than we think.

For the marathon, it seems as though there were only 18 popup episodes actually made! First of all, this information comes from the the researchers at the CN/AS Archive Wiki, where they have a partial schedule for that day: April 13th 2008.

As far as the ones we for have properly on record, those are highlighted in green. These are the episodes released on two volumes of DVDs released in Australia by Madman Entertainment, as well as one that was curiously uploaded to Hulu for some reason.

Five episodes we have written renditions of, by other fans from when these aired.

And two, only partially, either by a forum post, or recycled information on a special DVD.

The two that are ruled out had popups added to some of the deleted scenes on the Season 4 DVD. In the case of Don't Drink The Water, one is recycled from earlier popups.

And for all of these featured on Deleted Scenes, the formatting is odd, because the text bleeds really far into the Omnitrix graphic on the sides, while the ones seen in full episodes don't do that.

Bottom line, we're only looking for 7 missing popup episodes, not the entire series!

And all it would take to finish this search, is a tape of that one day.

So where I am in Australia, we don't really have a lot of Rollacosters, so I hope I did this alright. I tried to add a mix into this, so I do hope you enjoy it.

Starscream 

- this is a mech who doesn't like horror movies after the experience with the zombie Venicons/ spark eaters

-he does make exceptions for certain movies mainly ones which don't involve undead monsters

- he tends to let you ramble about different slashers but doesn't have much input into it. 

- He isn't fond of human's but he does make an exception for you, he enjoy watching you get excited. 

- he does take quite an interest in your liking for Rollacosters because of the adrenaline aspect of it. 

-he ends up taking you on joy flights quite often. 

"Starscream... I know you have been rather busy but would you be up for watching some horror movies with me?" Their voice calls out as the Decepticon continues walking around his quarters. It wasn't often that they got to ask him.

"Horror movies, you say? Well, this is an unexpected invitation," Starscream replies thoughtfully. "While I do enjoy watching organics squirm in fear on screen, I have several tasks that demand my attention this cycle. It would not do for me to neglect my duties as Air Commander, not with Megatron in one of his moods. Perhaps another time, when our schedules align?" 

He pauses, considering. Entertainment has its and perhaps he could continue his duties while watching. "Very well then, a short viewing session. But only if you have procured films with impressive gore and suspense. None of that formulaic slash and spatter."

With that, Starscream returns his attention to his datapads, he slowly types away on the data pad, optics flicking between watching them and working.  

It wasn't often he actually took the time to spend quality time with you. Over the time you had been under his watch he had slowly grown to enjoy the company. "I can always put on one of the final destination films, I happen to rather enjoy the way the 'deaths' occur in the film. Plus my favourite is the Rollacoster one" they explain while setting everything up to be able to enjoy the movies. 

"Ah yes, Final Destination - I've heard Knockout speak of that series before, after one of his ‘outings’ " Starscream replies thoughtfully. "Let's see if it lives up to its grisly reputation." As the human begins cueing up the selected film, Starscream settles himself in for the viewing, optics gleaming with anticipation. 

"Do press play then, and we shall see if Earth's deathly spectre can outdo the Pit-spawned horrors of Cybertron's gladiatorial arenas," Starscream says with a sly grin. 

They snuggle in against his side despite the fact the bot wasn't overly warm. "Honestly Rollacoster aren't that bad, we do have a few incidents with them every once in a while but a lot of the rides have gotten alot better over the years with safety. I have quite a few I really enjoy going on when I have the money" the begin info dumping while the movie begins playing.

"While Earth's primitive contraptions cannot compare to the aerial mysteries of Cybertron, I appreciate your insight into this...rollercoaster," he rumbles thoughtfully. typing away as he looks up every now and then. "Indeed, your species performs admirably under duress." 

"Stars you go on them for fun, the adrenaline of the ride. The wind against your skin and the loops that make you feel nauseous" they state teasingly "Maybe one day I could take you too one, once your war is over" they hum optimistically.

Starscream chuckles softly. "I understand the appeal of testing one's frame to its limits. In the skies above Cybertron, there was nothing like breaking the sound barrier in a tailspin or outfoxing three Autobot Seekers at once. The rush of battle-joy before the sweet relief of victory...ah, those were cycles to savour indeed." 

His optics take on a distant glow, recalling aerobatic glories past. Turning to gaze upon his companion, Starscream's manner softens. "Your offer is...kind. Misplaced, but kind. “

Ratchet 

-he's a bot who has seen to many horrors, and would rather not watch horror movies at all

-he's more than happy reading horror stories and a few times he has actually ready you to sleep. 

-he does take the time to take you back to bed and turn off movies

-Rollacosters are another thing he isn't fond off but he does let you take him on Roller Coaster ride.

- expect him to tell you all about the dangers of Rollacosters 

"Come on Ratchet I promise it's gonna be fun!" The human laughs while dragging the medics' holoform with them towards the Rollacoster. The theme park had been packed full of people. Ratchet's holoform sighed in exasperation, reluctantly following along as the human dragged him towards the roller coaster. The theme park was bustling with people, the sound of laughter and excitement filling the air. Ratchet's optics narrowed, his concern for the safety of the humans growing.

"Look, I understand that amusement parks are meant to be enjoyable, but you should also prioritise your safety," Ratchet grumbled, trying to reason with the human. "Roller coasters can be dangerous if not properly maintained."

He glanced around, assessing the crowd and observing the roller coaster's structure. His holoform crossed his arms, a stern expression on his face. "I'm not going on that thing."

"Ratchet, they aren't dangerous, they have to do that much maintenance and safety check on them. I promise you it will be safe!" They state while lining up for the ride with him. Ratchet's holoform raised an optic ridge, sceptical of the human's assurance. He knew the importance of safety checks and maintenance, but he couldn't help but worry about the unpredictable nature of amusement park rides. Nevertheless, he found himself standing in line with the human, observing the roller coaster as it roared by.

"Fine, we'll give it a shot," Ratchet reluctantly agreed, his tone still cautious. "But if anything feels off or if I detect any potential danger, we're getting off immediately. Understand!" As they waited in line, Ratchet kept a watchful optic on the ride's operations and the safety measures in place. He couldn't help his concern for the human's well-being, even if he tried to hide it behind his gruff exterior.

"Ratch you worry so much you old bucket of bolts!" They press their head against the holoforms shoulder. "You'll enjoy it I promise you, now stop worrying. Come on!" they state while dragging him further up the line. Ratchet stiffened slightly, He couldn't help but feel a flicker of annoyance at their dismissive remark, but he also understood their intention. To lighten the atmosphere and make him let go of his worries, even if just for a moment.

He sighed and allowed himself to be dragged further up the line, reluctantly letting go of his concerns for the time being. "Alright, alright," he grumbled, his voice carrying a hint of resignation. "But remember, I'll be holding you to your promise."

It isn't until after the ride that they are sitting down. Ratchet's hologram looks rather pale after the ride. Their laughter is soft as they watch him come down for his first Rollercoaster ride. Ratchet tries to maintain a composed demeanour, despite feeling a bit disoriented and pale. They noticed the human's amusement at his expense and couldn't help but let out a grumpy sigh.

"I hope you enjoyed that spectacle," Ratchet muttered, attempting to regain their composure. "Though I must admit, that was an... interesting experience."

A small smirk tugged at the corner of their lips, teasing and lightheart remarks passed between them both in that moment. Deep down, he knew that the experience wasn't as dreadful as he initially feared, even if his hologram didn't quite hide their pale color.

"Just don't expect me to become a roller coaster enthusiast anytime soon," Ratchet added, a hint of amusement in his tone. "Now, let's find something a little less... intense to enjoy, shall we?"

Ratchet's holoform listened as the human chartered away, discussing their favourite roller coasters and transitioning into conversations about their other interests and hyperfixations. Ratchet found himself intrigued by the human's passion and enthusiasm.

"Interesting," Ratchet commented, a hint of curiosity in their voice. "I can understand the appeal of the ride but I'd rather not go on another."

Knockout 

- Knockout has always enjoyed human horror movies and he adores getting to watch them with you. 

-he will curl up watching them with you even if they startle him often with jump scares. 

-he loves theorising things about different slashers and horror movies. 

-Rollercoasters on the other hand he doesn't like, he'd rather keep his feet on flat ground. 

- he does find it rather amusing listening to you talk about your hyperfixation. 

- he will actively take you to amusement parks just so he can enjoy watching you have fun. 

They laugh lightly as Knockout's optics widened as the unexpected jumpscare appeared on the screen, causing him to involuntarily jump in his seat. His engine revved in surprise, a faint whirring sound emanating from his frame. "Omg did you get jump scared by Freddy Krueger!" They giggle while eating popcorn. 

His attention shifted from the movie to the fleshy sitting beside him, their laughter contagious and infectious.

He playfully narrowed his optics, a mischievous smirk forming on his faceplate. "Oh, you think that's funny, do you?" Knockout retorted, his voice laced with a hint of amusement. He reached over and playfully nudged them with his servo. "Just you wait. I'll make sure to get you back with an even better scare."

As the movie continued, Knockout couldn't help but enjoy the bonding experience. They lean their head against Knockout while they continue watching their movie, "watch those claws Krueger!" They shoot at him.Knockout chuckled softly at their playful comment and leaned closer to them, his frame emitting a low purr of amusement. He draped his servo over their shoulder, the metal plating of his fingers acting as a gentle caress against their flesh.

"Krueger doesn't stand a chance against me, my dear," Knockout replied, his voice laced with a hint of smugness. "I've got claws of my own, and trust me, they're much more impressive than his."

"Hahaha Knockout he's a Dream demon you don't stand a chance mister!, remember the zombie Venocons, you squealed like a little girl!" They almost shout at him.

Knockout's optics widened in mock offence at their words, his audio receptors registering their playful shout. He couldn't help but let out a laugh, his voice filled with amusement and a touch of embarrassment.

"Hey now, let's not bring up ancient history!" Knockout responded, feigning indignation. "Those Vehicons caught me by surprise, that's all. It was a momentary lapse of composure, I assure you." He playfully nudged them with his elbow, his smirk returning. "But trust me, when it comes to dream demons or any other menacing creatures, I'll make sure to show them who's the real master of scare around here."

With a twinkle in his optics, Knockout grabs them. He chuckled mischievously as they squealed and tried to escape his grasp. His grip tightened ever so slightly, his servos strong and secure, preventing them from slipping away. He relished in their playful resistance, enjoying the thrill of the chase.

"Oh, no you don't," Knockout teased, his voice laced with amusement. "You're not getting away that easily, my dear."  Knockout leaned in closer, his voice lowering to a flirtatious whisper. "You know, you're quite adorable when you squirm like that. But don't worry, I won't keep you captive for too long. Just long enough to enjoy this little game we're playing."

As the movie continued to play, Knockout held them in his grasp, their laughter blending with the sounds of the film. It was a playful and content moment he had in such a long time. a reminder that even amidst the chaos, there was room for laughter and enjoyment. “I hope you know that I'll get you back my dear, just you wait sweetspark, this little game is on “ he hums lightly against their ear.

Hogwarts Legacy inspired me to draw and have fun joining fandom again 

Warning: Long!!! and this is just my random talk.

I've been using this account for 3 years now (may be 4, I don't remember correctly). I created this blog mostly for posting my The Arcana fanart, and get to know very talented artists/writers and their Apprentices. That time was super fun, joining a fandom helped my drawing/water-coloring skill improve a lots. And another reason why I was so active at that time is because I was in a long-distance relationship, I didn't have much to do after work except playing games and draw, haha, like everyday. 

And then after 8 years of dating we broke up, because I could not leave everything behind and come to Australia to live with him without marriage. I quitted my job at a travel agency after the covid 19 second outbreak in Vietnam. Anyway, that is when I lost my willing to draw. I still logged on Tumblr thou, occasionally, but I just didn't have the feeling to hold my brushes again. At the same time Nyx Hydra was acquired by Dorian, The Arcana is not the same anymore. I still love the original story but I refuse to play the new stories on Dorian app. The fandom friends I know on Tumblr also deactivated. So I stopped drawing & left the fandom for almost 2 years.

Still I was lucky, early 2021 I found a new job in gaming industry, and met my husband there. It didn't take us several years to decided to get marriage. Last year was super busy, and I still play games, like alots. Genshin Impact, Baldur Gate 3, Red Dead 2, Tiny Tina's Wonderland...They're wonderful, but none of those ignited my willing to draw again. I couldn't explain , I tried to make fanart but always left the piece unfinished...

Until last month my husband bought me Hogwarts Legacy.

I've known about the game since its release, but didn't purchase it until this year due to my personal schedule and I wanted to finish other game first. Playing HL is different, like I see my 15 year old self stepping into the world I wish I could be there but couldn't. I was so excited! So many time I ran around the castle (casting revelio repeatedly and) shouting to my husband about how beautiful the environment is. And I met Sebastian, I thought he's cool but still didn't pay much attention on him until he took me to Felcroft. And all the shadow questline, all the lost and tragedies, the unfinished ending (why Avalanche?). So it has been decided, I wanted to be a part in this fandom, there are so many things could have been added in the game but the dev decided to throw them away, I needed to pick up my pencil and brushes.

And I'm glad I did. It's been 2 years since I joined a fandom and I almost forgot how fun it is. I've met so many nice artists who warmly welcomed me, and whose fanarts are too good that push me to improve my own drawing. I've read many beautiful fanfics that made me sobbing and giggling. It's like I've found the feelings I lost, and I want to thank you all for that.

Damn this post is too long already....

What I tried to say is, I don't know how long I will be here until my personal life pull me away again. But right now I'm on fire and I'm happy HL took me back here. After all I appreciate seeing you guy's contents everyday, and your nice comments whenever I posted something on Tumblr. I hope you don't mind if I post everything on this blog not only HL but also abit of my personal life, I just don't see the need to create another side ones. After all that had happened last year, the court had ordered the Principal of Nevermore to bring someone into to teach her students combat and warfare strategies and you were a perfect fit, an ex-marine. It was an elective class but it was full to the brim, making your schedule very tight, only giving you two or three sessions of marking a week not that you didn't mind! Teaching was the best, to see the kids improve in their skills over the year always made your heart swell with pride.

You knew each of your students names and what strategy would be the best for each outcast type. But the only student which you had no idea on what they were was you bosses child, Annika. You assumed that there had to be a reason for this but it was hard to assist them in training when you couldn’t offer any support.

Numerous times throughout the first semester, you had tried to bring it up to Principal Weems but she would always brush it off saying that what her daughter was 'did not stop you from teaching the basics’.

And at 6 o'clock on the first day of the second semester, a cry from the lakes had woken up the majority of the school and you being the closest to them, had slipped on shoes and was halfway across the courtyard. Making sure that whatever it was wouldn't hurt the students, you had remembered to bring one of the weapons that you had kept from the training you had done in Australia, years before.

As you arrived at the lake, you saw the daughter of your boss struggling to stay above the water, which was strange because she knew how to swim but wasn't the strangest thing because a cry broke through the winter air and it hadn't come out of her mouth. That's when realisation hit, it wasn't Annika but a Kelpie, their had been rumours swirling around with the students that their were a few in the lakes but it was always dismissed by Larissa.

Jumping into the lake without a plan, you swim over to where she was slowly drowning.

"Stay calm, remember what I've taught you." you whisper trying not to alert other kelpies before taking a gulp of air and going under. It had attached itself onto her left leg, plunging the knife into one of its legs, repeating the action but more towards it stomach. This time letting 'the person' go from its grasp, allowing her to visibly relax. With the last few moments of air, you make sure it's completely gone and push your way to the surface. Quickly putting the knife into a pocket, before steadying Annika.

"You focus on your breathing, I'll focus on getting to shore." Lifting the girl into your arms, moving through the water as fast as you could with a teenage female in you arms. Making it to shore just as the assumed mother appears above the water.

A crowd had formed around the lake, trying to see who it was but the thing you could see was the face of Larissa Weems.

"I'm going to take you to your mother." A hum is the response from half unconscious body in your arms. Pushing through the crowds of people, to get to your boss who looked on the verge of breaking down.

"Larissa, I think it'd be best if you take your daughter straight to the infirmary now. I'll take care of the students, go." You demand, she may have the power usually but at times like this you knew that you had more experience and power as you hand the body over to her.

Once she had left, you turned around. "If anything, your next two periods will not be happening but feel free to come by my classroom." and the chatter had resumed. Allowing you to go back to your room and take a wash, only to be interrupted by a knock to your door. Not given much time to react, you wrap a towel around your body and proceed to look out the door sighing relief when you saw it was just your boss. Unlocking the door to let her in.

"Is it.. maybe a bad time?" She asked looking at your body, with a raised eyebrow.

"Give me two, and i'll be back." You say, before going back into the bathroom leaving Larissa to stand awkwardly in your personal office. Looking around the room, she could see a few photo frames and made her way towards them. There was a photo of you with a young boy and girl and another of you and a man at a wedding. Doubt coursed through her veins, were you married? was she too late?

Larissa couldn't deny that she found you attractive. But had never acted on it because she didn't want you here in the first place.

"Thats my children and ex-husband." a voice comes from behind her, spinning around in her spot. Eyes widening involunatarily.

"I didn't mean to look, I was just curious.." She makes an attempt to give a reason but was cut off by a laugh.

"I really don't mind, come take a seat." You gesture towards a couch and hesitantly she makes her way after you, sitting down on the opposite side.

"Look, Y/N I came here to apologise for last semester and for putting you in danger. I didn't know that we actually had kelpies in our waters."

"Larissa, It's fine. I understand you didn't want to share what you and your daughter can do. I've done the same thing, but please know that I would never treat you nor your daughter differently no matter what your powers are." Looking her in the eye, with a slight tilt of your head.

"Shapeshifters."

"Pardon?"

"We are shapeshifters." She says louder this time.

"See? Wasn't hard. Now I can create a seperate plan for Annika and her powers, just like i've done with the rest of your students." You smile, storing the information away for later on.

"Also, I was wondering If you'd like to come to Weathervane tomorrow with me?" She asks breaking the eye contact by looking out your window in embarrassment.

"Of course, I would. Like a date right?"

"Only if you want it to be." A blush forming on her face, causing you to smile wider.

So as the title suggests, this post is a lot less facts and logic, and a lot more opinionated. It is still physics-y I just believe it's an interesting way to delve into a subject by turning it into an opinionated peice.

Preamble: A summary of Metric vs. Imperial arguments

Education level: Primary (Y3/4)

Topic: Measuring Systems (Metrology)

Now before you throw your hands up at the title and your silly little internet brain is like "this silly impericuck is fahrenpilled!" ... I'm an astronomy student living in Australia - I use SI units (and other unit systems) on the daily.

Though ... it is pretty notorious in astronomy to use like 17 different unit systems. Here's a list of examples:

My beloved SI units

CGS Units

Whatever the fuck a Jansky is

Don't even start with natural units I can't live without big G

"Ampere in CGS units is g1/2 cm3/2 s−2"

Solar Luminosity/Mass of Sun

Angstroms (like please can we just use nanometers?)

How many Jupiters or Earths fit into this cloud of gas?

The vomit of parallax units i.e. AU, pc, Mpc, arcseconds, radians

Steradians (Solid angles can be finicky)

Logarithms, logarithms everywhere!

Hubble's constant being in km/s/Mpc but then having to turn that into Hz or per year - like can someone please acknowledged how cursed this is?

When you do Kepler's 3rd law on Mercury and realise it doesn't work (because you forgot Einstein existed) ... so no units end up working

ADUs and/or whatever you get when you deal with telescope outputs

And as an Australian, I use SI units very regularly. Only measurements of human height and cooking weights are really imperial. And I can express all of them in metric units.

Now generally, the Metric (or SI) units are better than the imperial (or USC) units. The main points in favour of SI are:

(Almost) Everybody uses it

It's basically universal in science (see exceptions above)

It fits well with our base 10 counting system, easy scaling (e.g. 1 kg = 1 000 g = 1 000 000 mg)

It's directly pinned to many natural constants and unchanging laws

Different units interact with eachother much better

Now, generally, the main arguments for imperial units involve a bunch of patriots™ screaming about how "THIS IS THE CoUNTRY OF FREEDOM AND GOD!! AND I AIN'T USING NO CHINESE UNITS!!!1!".

That, or how metrification is hard. Which, well, metrification can occur over the course of decades, literally teaching your kids metric helps the country adjust to a metric system.

The best arguments I've found for imperial units is as follows:

Numbers like 6, 12, 60 etc. - i.e. units based on highly composite numbers - are very easily divisible by 2, 3, and 4

Units like feet, inches, pounds, stone, etc. are of a much more human-friendly scale. Because these units are based on bodily proportions or common objects

Generally, the arguments for metric vastly outweigh the arguments for imperial. And the main reason why is that the two arguments for imperial conflict with eachother. You cannot easily subdivide your units neatly and have human units.

For example, the Roman mile is a unit that measures the usual amount of distance a footsoldier can cover before needing a short stop. An acre is the amount of land that a manual-labour farmer can cover in a day's work. An inch is about the size of your thumb.

The problem is that all three of these units, based on length, are completely off kilter. 1 acre = 43,650 square feet, 1 Roman mile = 58260 in, etc.

The only cases where I would say the human-ness and divisibility of units actually becomes a stronger argument than decimalised units are, time and temperature.

Time is obvious. 1 hour = 60 minutes = 3600 seconds. It's nice, clean and simple. And an hour or half-hour is a very human unit, the same as a second or a minute. We often operate on hour and minute schedules, and that's not just because of capitalism. 30 minutes just appears to be the amount of time we like to work before taking a short rest.

Temperature is a bit more nebulous however ...

Where (I think) Celsius fails

Of course, celsius is an understandable scale. 0 C = Water Freezes, 100 C = water boils. Pinning your scale on water makes life easy for you as you know what the bounds are.

The problem is that there are temperatures that exist outside of the 0-100 scale. And this kinda breaks the neat decimalisation of a scale.

A cold winter's day in Tasmania could drop into the negatives. And just because your in the negatives doesn't mean ocean water or rain will freeze. Temperatures below 0 C doesn't guarantee snowfall.

Similarly, say you are in a desert during the day. The temperature can get as high as 50 C - it's reasonable to say that you're unlikely to see temperatures above 50 C outside of your oven or kettle.

Do you normally see temperatures between 70 - 90 C? Unless if you're pasteurising milk, distilling alcohol, or doing chemistry, you are not going to encounter these temperatures. And do you really need your temperature numbers to be below 100 to do chemistry?

This is the downside of Celsius. Because temperature is a scale, and operates differently to other units, it doesn't really matter where you set the zero point. A boiling point of ethanol at "78" is no better than one at "173".

Celsius also doesn't account for temperatures that are very well below the freezing point of water, temperatures which are very common to experience.

So is Fahrenheit Better?

Fahrenheit solves this problem, partially. It's a more human friendly scale. 0 F is a very very cold day whereas 100 F is a very very hot day. Things beyond both numbers are relegated to the scientists, chefs, and extremophiles of the world.

If we were to completely remove all requirements of not pissing off a bunch of people, we could even create our own temperature scale to make things even better: 0 X = -50 C and 100 X = 50 C.

Even better because now the 0 and 100 of this scale becomes the absolute limit of what we could normally experience on earth, the hottest desert and the coldest tundra. It even comes with the benefit that 50 X = the freezing point of water and 150 X = the boiling point of water - it preserves our common "anchors" of the phases of water.

The problem is that there's a second hidden benefit of Fahrenheit: it's specificity. What do I mean by that?

Well, for every 1 C increase in temperature, the Fahrenheit scale increases by 1.8 F. This means that a temperature of 20 C could mean 68 F or 69 F.

For a lot of normal/casual processes, the Celsius scale may require us get past the decimal point, to express minor changes in temperature, whereas Fahrenheit would not.

For chemistry and physics, our significant figure requirements immediately become extra precise. 58.8 F is a more accurate measurement than 14.9 C, without requiring any more decimal places.

You may say "well why not we use a deci-Celsius scale where 1000 dC = boiling point of water". The issue is that too much precision may be putting it over the top. We don't measure the size of cities in centimetres.

But then what about Kelvin

Of course, the main SI unit for temperature, and the unit physicists and chemists use is the Kelvin. The reason for this is of course:

It is tied to absolute zero by setting it to 0 K

Because of this, we can apply SI order of magnitude quantifiers like milli-Kelvin, kilo-Kelvin, Giga-Kelvin without upsetting the position of our anchor points

It covers and measures cleanly low-K processes

Very hot processes end up having Celsius be approximately equal to Kelvin

It would be difficult to use Fahrenheit because 0 F ~ the freezing point of saltwater.

But let me introduce you to the Rankine Scale. What Kelvin is to Celsius is what Rankine is to Fahrenheit.

Rankine takes all of the benefits of Fahrenheit with it (aside from the human-ness of the scale - but that's not the purpose of the Rankine and Fahrenheit scales), but it also takes the benefits that Kelvin gets.

We can too, have milli-Rankine and Giga-Rankine. And the best part is that it is twice as precise as Fahrenheit.

Even better is that the Rankine Scale is very easily convertible to the Kelvin Scale. 1 K = 1.8 R; 1 K⁻¹ = 0.556 R⁻¹. This means I can very easily re-formulate some fundamental constants:

Boltzmann constant = 1.381 × 10⁻²³ J K⁻¹ = 7.672 × 10⁻²⁴ J R⁻¹

Stefan-Boltzmann c. = 5.67 × 10⁻⁸ W m⁻² K⁻⁴ = 5.40 × 10⁻⁹ W m⁻² R⁻⁴

Ideal gas constant = 8.315 J mol⁻¹ K⁻¹ = 4.619 J mol⁻¹ R⁻¹

Wein's constant = 2.898 × 10⁻³ m K = 5.216 × 10⁻³ m R

Let's hope I converted it correctly, idk my Saturday brain no thinky.

Conclusion: So is it actually better?

Short Answer: In my opinion, yes. But I'm not switching to it.

Of course, when talking about subjective opinions, people can point out the flaws in each others' opinions. I've made it clear that the imperial vs. metric debate very solidly falls to the metric side with only a few exceptions.

Temperature is one of those scales that are more up-to-debate over the usefulness of certain units of choice. Especially because the alternative unit system is still commonly used.

I could've made the same arguments about the meter, and said that we should use a decimalised inch or foot with kilofeet or millifeet. Or invent a completely new unit system that is technically "superior". But that's obviously much more ambitious.

Of course, the likelihood of the global Fahrenheit revolution is almost non-existent, and this is more of a series of "well, technically speaking" arguments that are more for the point of exploring an idea than implementing one.

Regardless I'd like to hear YOUR arguments over why I'm a stupid poo poo head or I'm actually the mother of the next great napoleonic French empire.

Again, feedback that may be unrelated to the specific "you're right/you're wrong" debate like my writing style etc. is also appreciated.

I just looked it up and she has malignant melanoma. I understand that it was just one mole that had turned cancerous, which is good, and they caught the mole in the early stages, which is even better. It is when it is in the later stages (3-5 or 2-4 depending on whether the first stage is called 1 or 0) that you worry. Apparently she has seen her dermatologist and told the people waiting that she was fine, so all is good.

My country, Australia, has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, so it is not scary to me. The main thing is to keep an eye on your moles and get them checked by the doctor if they start to change. If I sound blasé it is not that I am unsympathetic to the diagnosis, but that it is not unusual for someone to develop skin cancer as they get older here. I've had members of my family treated for it in the early stages and they were all fine afterwards.

In regards to your other request, I am a firm believer in God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the angels and the saints, and that they all have the power to help us. I will share one story from my life as an example of this. I think I may have shared this on another forum before - maybe even on tumblr - so if you have seen it before it may be from another post by me.

If anyone else wants to share stories about the angels, the saints, God etc I am happy to post them here.

Story below the cut

When I was younger, in my twenties, I woke up one day with two red marks, red dots, on my neck, in a line and a little bit apart apart. The marks were not small, but they weren't huge and taking over half my neck either.

Normally I would freak out about the spots, but for some reason I was very placid and docile and didn't worry about them. In fact, I forgot about them until I saw them again the next day in the mirror - two deep red marks. They weren't mozzie bites or insect bites or any sort of marks that I had seen before, but I just dismissed it from my mind and went on with my life. The marks didn't fade, as mozzie bites do, but for some reason I was very placid about it all and ignored them.

This happened for a few days, and then I woke up very suddenly in the middle of the night. I could feel a weight pressing me down, and I could feel something warm trickling down my neck. I was utterly petrified. I prayed and called on God to protect me, and as soon as I asked Jesus to protect me - screaming it out in my mind because I was so scared - the presence left. I didn't sleep much for the rest of the night.

The next morning I looked in the mirror and the two deep red marks on my neck had vanished.

The presence never came back. I had the house blessed, to make sure, but I have not been troubled by it since, and I have never seen those marks on my neck again.

she doesn't know who is more thankful about it, him or her.

when she meets his dad she can't help but blurt out about his facial hair and austin in that moment makes sure he grows it out for bikeriders because of it. just to see her reaction to his own.

his dad laughs and reminds austin that he's got to keep you because she fits right in. dove rides the high of that praise for weeks after. same thing goes for when she meets his sister and gets called her favorite one.

as for when austin meets dove's mom? and to a lesser extent her managers/agents who act like her dad? austin is scared shitless.

it's understandable though because all three of them read that boy for filth and threaten bodily harm if she ever come home or come to them as sad as she was after australia. he swears on his life she won't ever be like that and after that, well he gets dragged to The Diner she enjoys going to with her mom and her managers. and it's a sweet lunch/dinner.

[Cover] My Third Chapter, Actor Park Seoham

Recently, together with fellow actors Shin Eunsoo and Yang Byungyeol, who are from the same agency, went on a trip to Australia. The reason behind your trip together was.

= Among the contents on the agency's YouTube channel, there is a program called <Nemo Travel>. It was part of that, and it was a time where actors and staff could share many stories and get closer. It was my first time in Australia, and I was surprised by how vast it was compared to what I had expected. The emerald sea stretched endlessly, it was truly a beautiful place.

You often post landscape photos, it seems you enjoy seeing natural scenery.

= I do. (Laughs) I like just seeing landscapes without any subjects framed in the shot.

I saw on social media that you watched "Home Alone" on the plane to Australia. Do you have a special affection for this movie?

= Watching "Home Alone" brings warmth to my heart because of its unique Christmas atmosphere. I'm trying to watch more dramas and movies than before. Recently, I rewatched "My Sassy Girl," and senior actor Ryu Seungsoo appeared with such a youthful look. Being able to consistently record the changes is truly a blessing of being an actor.

Singer's Dream, Actor's Dream

After interviewing with in 2022, two years have passed. What changes have you noticed?

= Many things have changed. First of all, I now have an agency, so I feel a sense of stability in various ways, and I'm grateful for the current situation. Of course, going to the set without a company while filming "Semantic Error" was a big life lesson for me. When will I ever again have to prepare costumes and organize the daily shooting schedule all by myself? And two years ago, during the interview, I was worried about turning thirty. It felt like my world was going to collapse, but now I don't have such worries anymore. Instead of being hung up on age, I've grown a desire to do better in the future.

After receiving a lot of attention for "Semantic Error," you immediately experienced a hiatus. Were you disappointed or anxious?

= I'm human too, so if I said I wasn't disappointed or anxious, it would be a lie. When "Semantic Error" was released, it was the first time I experienced such great interest and love during my career. It was disappointing and saddening to have a hiatus before fully realizing it. However, I suddenly thought that perhaps it was a chance given from above to take more time for reassessment. There were still many areas where I lacked, so even if I had been lucky enough to immediately enter another project at that time, I don't think I would have done well. Instead, I'm grateful for having the time to reflect on myself while catching my breath. Just having regrets won't accomplish anything. I'll continue to do what I can with gratitude for the love I receive.

This year marks 8th year since debut. Despite spending a long time on stage and meeting many people, you were actually a quiet student during your school days.

= Back then, I was even more timid, so I really went to school quietly. My mother used to say, "You didn't go through adolescence," because I was so quiet. I jokingly said to fans during a live broadcast on social media, "I would feel so unjust if people said I was a delinquent because I was such a good student." But then, when fans posted my graduation photo, they said, "No one thinks like that." (Laughs) I was a student who didn't even know how to dress up to that extent.

How did a quiet student who wasn't interested in being stylish end up dreaming of becoming a singer?

= Among my close friends, there was someone who wanted to become a singer. I accompanied them to a public audition, and there I received an audition offer myself and began my journey as an idol trainee. Living with trainee friends and practicing dance and singing became enjoyable, just like going on a school trip. As I received monthly evaluations, I developed a desire to improve gradually. It was during my senior year of high school, when I started my trainee life, that I first began to have a dream. Before that, I didn't have any aspirations for the future. I couldn't give up on a dream that arose after nearly 20 years, so even though my debut was postponed, I persevered and eventually stood on stage.

You have been balancing acting alongside your idol career since your idol days. Did you start thinking about acting around the same time you wanted to act?

= At first, I didn't have that thought. Being recognized as an idol was my priority. Whenever I was a trainee, I always heard, "You're more like a model than an idol." I thought to myself, "Where does that even come from?" Out of frustration, I didn't even consider other paths. So when the opportunity came to audition for the drama <20th Century Boy and Girl>, I approached it comfortably without feeling burdened, and the production team seemed to appreciate that aspect of me.

The drama <20th Century Boy and Girl> is your debut work as an actor. It must have been a completely different feeling to stand alone in front of the camera as an actor, having previously only been involved in group activities.

= I had to handle everything on my own and take full responsibility for it. I was afraid because I had nowhere to rely on. That's when I realized that acting was a difficult task.

In "20th Century Boy and Girl," you made a brief appearance as the child Anthony (played by Lee Sangwoo), whereas in the web drama "Just One Bite" Season 2, you took on the main role of Joo Wookyung and delved into acting more earnestly.

= It was the first time I had spoken so many lines. The actor who played Joo Wookyung in Season 1 had to leave due to personal reasons, and I stepped into that role. Considering that viewers might already find me unfamiliar, I felt a pressure to ensure that I wouldn't become a burden to the production. I didn't even receive proper acting lessons and practiced alone, so I didn't know what I was doing wrong. However, after completing that project somehow, I gained more ambition and courage to do better.

Afterward, you appeared consecutively in the web dramas "Dating Class" and "One Fine Week." They are all romantic comedies, and the characters you played are generally upright and straightforward men. What do you think was the reason for continuously receiving such roles?

= It might be because my actual personality is similar to those characters. Both Wookyung from "Just One Bite" Season 2 and Yoonsoo from "Dating Class" generally have gentle personalities. Although my personality itself isn't exactly FM style, I often hear that I have an outwardly polite appearance, so perhaps they found a commonality in that aspect. While our personalities may be similar, acting was still challenging. For example, Yoonsoo is a character who is like a robot, and it was difficult to match the stiffness of his speech. So, I did a lot of research on character speech patterns by watching videos of other actors or people. I particularly enjoyed playing Eden in "One Fine Week" because although he appeared polite on the outside, his inner self was completely different. It was fun to express a personality that was different from mine.

Director Kim Soojung of "Semantic Error" once said about actor Park Seoham, "He is diligent enough to be the first to arrive on set, and his skill improvement is evident because of his good adaptability." I thought this diligence might have been cultivated through years of idol life.

= That's right. Especially since KNK wasn't a very active group, each schedule was highly valued. On the set of "Semantic Error," all the staff members, including the director, were senior to me. So even before filming began, I would ask for advice and express my willingness to learn. Director Kim Soojung, in particular, gave me a lot of advice on things to consider before shooting and methods for acting practice. To hear such stories, I had to be on set early.

As an actor, what are your strengths?

= It's still a stage of exploration, and I want to find it. Just two years ago, the word "actor" felt too heavy. But now, I confidently call myself an actor. I want to become a person who lives up to the weight of that title. I am as strong as my perseverance. I endured the tough trainee days and KNK activities with that strength. I will continue to carry with me perseverance and a diligent attitude.

Some actors who started their careers as singers have returned to music by releasing albums or engaging in music activities alongside acting. Do you have a desire to pursue both acting and music simultaneously?

= I'm not sure. Right now, I don't feel confident enough to go back to music broadcasts. (Laughs)

Was the photo essay "March For You" published at the suggestion of the publishing company?

= I see. At first, I hesitated. Isn't publishing a book something anyone can do? But if it's a book that fans would enjoy, I felt confident. Initially, I considered only a photo book, but I wanted to put more effort into it and ended up writing longer passages. It took quite some time, but I'm satisfied with the outcome for my first book. I believe fans will also enjoy it.

Did you come up with the title yourself?

= The original title was 'Crazily Survived Days.' (Laughs) Personally, I really like the number 3. Since I mainly covered my daily life in the book, the photos and content weren't flashy or provocative. So, I came up with the title 'Crazily Survived Days,' meaning 'I've calmly dealt with my days like blanching vegetables.' Ultimately, the title 'March For You' was chosen.

There are many landscape photos in the book as well. If you had to pick your favorite among them?

= They are cherry blossom photos. They bloom and wither quickly, but I like the way they look when they're in full bloom. There were several of them included repeatedly, and I didn't want to leave any out, so I ended up including them all.

You held a fan meeting not long ago and mentioned wanting to try playing a "bad role." The range of what constitutes a "bad role" is quite broad. I'm curious about what specifically you'd like to try.

= I haven't thought about specific genres or characters, but I do want to try playing a multidimensional villain. I recently watched a drama called "It's Your Turn" where a character initially seemed kind but turned out to be the culprit. That setup was shocking to me. I would like to try portraying such a multidimensional villain.

Your previous answer about being interested in romantic comedy is still valid?

= Absolutely! I'm very interested! I've done a lot of romantic comedies in the past and have always enjoyed filming them, so I'd love to challenge myself with more. The same goes for classic melodramas too.

Do you also have a desire to work in movies?

= Of course, I do. However, I don't want to express a vague desire like "I want to try movies" in this context. I still feel that I have a lot to improve, so I'm diligently preparing and steadily building up my skills. When a good opportunity comes along, I won't hesitate to pour my heart into it.

Do you have any upcoming projects in preparation?

= I'm scheduled to start filming soon. I'll be spending most of the week taking action and horseback riding lessons. I really want to emphasize that this is a huge spoiler. (Laughs) I've never really fought anyone in my life, so action is a bit of a challenge… But I've been praised for my talent in horseback riding lessons. It's been almost two years since I've seen in a project, so I'm doing my best to learn and make fans proud.

I've been incredibly busy since the beginning of the year. If I were to share my plans for the remaining year…

= Once the filming for the next project starts, the rest of the year will probably pass by quickly. Finishing this year like that makes me feel like I can welcome next year with real excitement. Personally, I like the number 3, and I'll be turning 33 next year. (Laughs) On the day of my 8th debut anniversary, I looked through old photos, and it felt strange. So much has changed. Looking back at past hardships, I now think, 'Yeah, those things happened,' 'What was so difficult about that?' Life seems to have cycles of luck and misfortune. Now, whenever I'm going through a tough time, I wait for the happiness that will come to me. I used to be afraid of the future, but these days, I'm curious about my future.

When I was a trainee, an album containing was released. At that time, I went to the Han River with other trainees and listened to the album from track 1 to the end together. Whenever I listen to , it feels like I can smell spring and remember that day at the Han River. So, it's a song I always seek out when spring comes. These days, I also listen to TWS's "Plot Twist" frequently. They're so adorable that it makes me want to have a son like them!

Summer - Drama "My Name is Kim Sam Soon"

It was a drama my mother really enjoyed. We used to sit together and watch TV, but at that time, I don't think I fully understood the emotions of the characters. As time passed and I watched it again, I understood why my mother found it so entertaining. At that time, even though Sam Soon was only in her thirties, she seemed stressed because of her age. Now that I'm in my thirties, those concerns resonate with me differently. This year, I turned thirty-two, and Sam Soon, who is just in her thirties, seems too young. When I reach my forties, I'll probably look back and think that my thirty-two-year-old self seemed quite young too, right? With these thoughts in mind, I appreciate the drama each year with a different perspective.

Autumn - Yoon Do-hyun's "I Guess I Loved You" Deli spice's "Chow Chow"

In autumn, it's always about ballads. Yoon Do-hyun's "I Guess I Loved You" and Deli spice's "Chow Chow" are my go-to songs when the weather gets chilly and autumn sets in. As soon as I feel that autumn vibe, I immediately add them to my playlist and put them on repeat.

Winter - Drama "My Liberation Notes"

I've rewatched it about 6 times so far. Even when I traveled to Australia, I watched it again on the plane. It's a work that deeply resonates with me, and it comes to mind when the weather gets cold. The atmosphere and story portrayed in the video are simple and not overly stimulating, allowing me to watch it comfortably. There are heart-wrenching moments in every episode that keep me coming back for more.

I'm at the age of 21 years old! This is a sideblog, not my main blog. I'd rather not connect the two publicly as I'm insecure about my irl friends and bf seeing me post fanfics (especially if I do nsfw)

I try to be friendly and if i ever come off as not I apologize! I find it very hard to convey my tone over text, especially if I'm passionate about a topic which might happen if I'm talking about head canons :) at the end of the day this is just for fun and I don't anything too seriously.

Live in australia, saying this because I have a VERY messed up sleep schedule. I usually go to bed around 3am, sometimes later, or earlier but then wake up like 5-7am. So if you catch me online at what is an unreasonable time for me that's why. I do try and make my grammer more american though (apologies to british/other aussie people).

I write fanfic! Or at least trying to. I'm trying to engage in fandom more, all the other fandoms I'm in (not posting about here) are big so there's lots of content. I've like redacted the most, for about 2 years now, and never interacted with fandom once until a few weeks ago. I ended up seeing recs for ZsakuVA and that kinda inspired me to step into fandom.

feel free to ask for specific characters/situations :) I'm not saying I'll 100% do them, as for me I need to find an idea that sits AMAZING with me to write it. I have adhd and find it impossible to focus on writing unless I'm like. constantly thinking about it for a few days. I do appreciate some ideas being thrown my way because it makes me think, and can always inspire something else!

I don't consume fanfic media myself, or at least very rarely do. 9/10 if I'm looking at fanfics it's just to try get some inspo but that's about it!

The Runaway Update

Sorry for no story post today! I would have communicated sooner, but the reason for my delay also ties in to the reason why I'm making this little update, so here we are.

The real reason a post wasn't released is because I forgot to queue up for the week, but tbh I've been busy enough that I just haven't had a lot of time to make story posts or come online in general, so I think it's in my best interest to reduce my update schedule. I'm gonna do Mondays and Thursdays now (Early in the morning Tuesdays and Fridays if any of you live in Australia/New Zealand/Eastern Asia etc.). Update time will remain the same (3 PM North American Central Time).

One Direction were/are ambitious… but one must consider their ages when they signed their contracts, who truly managed their schedule (’This is what you have to do if you want to succeed’) and the pressure to continue making money. 

Beginning with X-Factor in October 2010, One Direction didn’t get any extended break until 21 Dec 2013 – Feb 2014, about nine weeks.

As students in the UK, they would've received anywhere from 10-22 weeks of vacation a year—not to mention being at home with the love and support of their families and friends.

One Direction won at the Brit Awards on 21 February 2012.  Harry had just turned 18, Liam and Niall were 18, Zayn was 19, and Louis was 20.

Three days after the Brits, they were in Chicago for a radio interview/meet and greet.  They also opened for Big Time Rush that night, and proceeded to play 12 shows over the next two weeks, each in a different city.  During March they also did at least six signings, some smaller performances (such as three songs on the Today Show), and over 60 interviews.

Time for my first 'I am upset because of tennis' post of the year! It is literally 2 days into 2024 and the season has only just begun, and my beloved Stefanos has stressed me out already 😍

He was struggling at the end of last year with a back injury and we didn't know how severe it was- he didn't start training until quite late on, but he played an exho last week and seemed ok, and a few days ago his brother Petros said he was almost back to normal. But currently it is the United Cup (a national team tournament), Stef didn't play his scheduled singles match and then he and Maria lost a doubles match which if healthy he should have had no trouble with, he was visibly struggling :(

I'm hoping that it might have just been a bad day and that he'll be ok in a couple of weeks for the Australian Open- if nothing else he's defending a lot of points there and he's likely to drop out of the top 10 afterwards (this is dependent on other players but I think it will happen unfortunately) but it's so hard to tell. And he loves playing in Australia, he has a huge amount of Greek pride, but he needs to take care of himself long term and it really wouldn't be the first time he's pushed through injury and probably made it worse by doing so 🙃

I want him to win a slam so so bad, his best shot is AO or RG- he doesn't stand a chance of winning AO this year and so part of me wishes he would just skip it altogether and take a proper break until he's healthy- but I get why he won't want to do that, and the more events you miss, the more points you lose and the more your ranking slips... thankfully he isn't defending a huge amount immediately afterwards (nothing from Acapulco and barely anything from the Sunshine Double) so if he's in better form there's a lot to gain, but that is a big if

And I've just seen on twitter that him and Maria are apparently playing another exho doubles match next week, WHY. Team Greece are likely to lose early at the UC (which is another 200 points off his ranking but he's still guaranteed a top 8 seeding at the AO so it's not a disaster) and he'd be better off resting up until he really needs to play- and then focusing on singles, not wasting time at an exhibition that doesn't count for anything. I truly do not understand him sometimes

I adore him and I say this out of love lol but I want to shake him sometimes. But in all seriousness it just feels so unfair- I look at the injury trouble Stef has had, same with Matteo, and then you look at someone awful like serial domestic abuser Zverev who made an objectively incredible comeback from what should have been a career ending injury (and would have been if karma was a thing)... it's a bit juvenile to cry 'it's not fair' but it really isn't :(

The next few months will be bumpy for sure but I think/hope he'll be ok. Meanwhile, Matteo pulled out of Brisbane qualifying, Felix was also meant to be playing UC but hasn't played a single match, and Shapo is missing in action- truly I have no idea where he is. Please can 2024 be kind to my boys they have all suffered enough
