@holyangelstudentuniverse requested the following: Steve working at Bath & Body Works while Eddie is the mall pianist?
I love it omfg, your brain is fantastic I hope I did the idea justice
(if you see any typos no you didn't <3)
The old food court pianist was...okay. Technically, she was good; she knew how to play and rarely made mistakes. She was also clearly just there for the bi-weekly check (not that Steve can blame her), and her playing reflected that. The piano became the ideal white noise, loud enough to lessen the awkwardness of any silence but not so amazing that people couldn't ignore it in favor of conversing with each other.
The new food court pianist? He's a fucking enigma.
He's very clearly skilled, and he seems to actually enjoy the job. He plays like Billy Joel and Elton John met one night, had a piano contest, and then had a baby to create the perfect pianist. He's great and energetic and can play anything from Mozart to fucking Cardi B, and Steve wishes he'd quit already so he can actually focus on his own shitty mall job instead of getting absorbed in the guy's playing.
"You should just hook up with him," Robin says one day, hip-checking Steve as she passes by with a box of Cherry Blossom products. She restocks the soap bottles first, then the perfume, then the lotions, and finally the tiny hand sanitizers with their shitty little plastic flip-caps that Steve swears break for the fucking fun of it.
Steve, meanwhile, is replacing last week's sales signs with new ones. They're the exact same. They rarely change, actually. The only difference is the "expiration" date at the bottom, which changes if only to continually sell customers that sense of urgency that results in them buying $50 worth of products they'll forget about until the holidays come around and they need white elephant gifts.
He's almost done, too. All that's left are the signs by the metal gate pulled down over the store's entrance. They'll open it in about an hour to prepare for the mall's opening, but for now, it's staying down to discourage the mini-bodega clerk in the middle of the hall from flirting with Robin and trying to sell her shitty perfume like she can't just steal shitty perfume from Bed Bath and Beyond at the end of the day.
He waits until after he's switched the sign to turn around, arms crossed over his chest. His back is to the gate, and Steve would normally be too fucking paranoid about a blind spot to withstand it, but he's in argument mode.
"I barely know the guy," he says.
Robin snorts as she crouches, stocking extra hand sanitizers in the tiny drawers at the bottom of the shelf. "Yeah, but I know you, dingus," she says, her voice light and bouncing. "You hear the guy's muzak version of a Lil Nas X song and you're ready to marry the guy."
"I can just recognize artistic ability! Have you ever tried to make a pop song sound like a classic?" he asks.
"My point," Robin says, pushing some hair out of her face, "is that you should ask him out. Maybe you two can play piano together."
If she hadn't already heard it before, Steve would be immediately launching into an explanation of why that wouldn't work. Steve has never met someone he liked or trusted enough to actually play with them. Sure, he's tried playing with a partner before if only to say he gave it a shot, but it sucks. Especially when you don't like the person. You're squished together on an uncomfortable bench, sharing sheet music, elbows bumping as you both try to reach the proper keys to keep the song from sounding horrendous. It's Steve's personal version of hell on earth.
But Robin has heard that rant before, so Steve graciously spares her from hearing it again. For now. Until he's drunk, probably.
"What, I'm just gonna waltz up to the piano and ask if he's free on Saturday? Or, I don't know, try some dumb pick-up line like asking if he comes here often?"
"I'll be honest, it's not the worst pick-up line I've heard."
Steve and Robin jump, both whipping their head to look at the grate to see the food court pianist grinning at them (well, more specifically, he's grinning at Steve) from the other side. He's wearing a button-down black shirt with ripped skinny jeans, old Converse, and more accessories than Steve can count. There are chains on his jeans and a guitar pick hanging from his neck and an ear cuff and a stud through the edge of his eyebrow and so many chunky rings that Steve could use as an excuse to stare at his hands for an hour.
Robin is the one who breaks out of the shock first. She jumps to her feet and walks over to Steve, resting her arm on his shoulder and leaning against him. "But would it work?" she asks.
The guy grins wider, obviously looking Steve up and down to check him out before looking at Robin. "From Stevie here? Yeah. He's really rocking the apron," Eddie replies, winking at Steve.
Steve is about to ask how the guy knows his name, but then he remembers the name badge on his apron. He clears his throat, tearing his eyes away to glance down at Robin.
She seems to be having the time of her life right now.
"Well, uh, I'd prefer to know your name before trying any pickup lines," he says.
"Eddie Munson at your service," Eddie says, bowing to Steve with a dramatic flourish that he finds more endearing than anything else.
One look at Robin and her scrunched nose tells him she thinks it's a little over-the-top and, dare he say, cringe. Her opinion doesn't actually matter, though, since she'd be down bad for any girl that curtseyed at her.
Steve looks back at Eddie, noting the now expectant gleam in his eyes. He can't help an amused smile as he says, "Well then, Eddie," Steve says, stressing his name a little just for the fun of it, "come here often?"
Robin groans next to him. "Fucking hell, Steve," she mutters, slapping him upside the head. "I know you suck at flirting but you really couldn't come up with something better?"
"No, no," Eddie tells her, waving his hand dismissively. "I'm into it."
"And I'm out of it," Robin says, raising her hands in surrender before scurrying back to her Cherry Blossom products.
She's definitely still listening, though.
Steve rolls his eyes are her reaction and focuses back on Eddie. "So, uh, are you free on Saturday?" he asks.
"Completely free," Eddie says, taking a step closer to the gate and shoving his hands into his pockets. "How about lunch?"
"Yeah, I know a great pizza place."
"It's a date then," Eddie replies, winking at Steve. "By the way, any song requests?"
Steve blinks and thinks for a minute before asking, "Do you know Vienna?"
Eddie's grin tells Steve that he does, in fact, know Vienna. "Vienna it is." With that, he winks at Steve once more before heading back to the food court.
"That was painful," Robin says once he's far away enough.
Steve rolls his eyes and flips her off. "You're just jealous I've got a date and you're still too chicken shit to approach the Nike girl."
Robin practically squawks at him. "Oh, fuck you," she says.
"I'll leave that to Eddie, thanks," Steve says, laughing when Robin gags.

love not at first sight
Tumblr media
pairing: sam carpenter x fem!reader
summary: sam witnesses an intruder breaking in through her window at night...
words: 3.790k
warnings: pepper spraying, punching, swearing, bad writing
authors note: i'm sick, i'm sad and i'm sober. so i decided to drag my ass out of writers block and write about my wife
It was a dull Friday night in the Carpenter apartment; Tara out with her friends partying -much to Sam's dissatisfaction-, Quinn over at one of her boy toys apartment definitely having much more fun than Sam, who sat alone in her living room watching a movie with a glass of red wine.
The movie didn't interest Sam at all, to be honest she only really put on the first movie she saw so she wouldn't be alone in silence.
Sam always enjoyed solitude before the hallucinations, she used to love being alone with her thoughts. But ever since she found out that Billy fucking Loomis was her father, she's never been able to truly enjoy her alone time as she used to.
Paranoid at any given moment she'll hear his voice telling her to make her dark thoughts a reality.
As the movie reached its end Sam sighed, finishing off her wine with it.
The gnawing feeling of protectiveness hit her at the thought of Tara out there partying with her friends. Sam really hated Tara constantly going out to parties, the fear of not knowing where Tara is at all times scaring her more than she'd like to admit.
Sam stood up slowly from the couch as she pulled her phone out of her back pocket, unlocking it to send Tara another message.
Sam (8:45pm): If you need me, call me and I'll be there straight away.
Tara (9:21pm): ok
Sam (10:13pm): I'm heading off to bed soon, I've left the door unlocked for you, please don't stay out too late.
Tara (11:38pm): thx
Sam (12:12am): It's getting quite late now, Tara. Please be back before one, I don't like you staying out so late.
Sam stared at the screen for a few minutes in hopes Tara would respond quickly, but it didn't surprise her when she didn't. Shutting her phone off she shoved it back into her jean pocket, heading towards the dark kitchen with her empty glass of wine.
How sad is this, Sam thought sarcastically to herself as she dropped the glass next to the sink, leaning against the counter for a moment.
Just for that moment she heard a sound, it was essentially non audible, but somehow Sam heard it.
Turning around so her back faced the counter Sam slowly opened the drawer and grabbed the one of many pepper sprays, gripping it tightly in her right hand.
The room fell silent.
Sam's eyes peered around the kitchen frantically, desperately trying to figure out where that noise came from.
When suddenly the kitchen window began rolling open slowly, and a few moments later a figure emerged.
The kitchen wasn't lit with any light which didn't allow Sam to see the intruders face, using that to her advantage she creeped towards the person who had no clue Sam was there.
"I'm never touching fucking jäger again." A feminine voice slurred out, wobbling towards the wall, aimlessly looking out for a light switch.
Sam's steps were featherlight as she crept behind her, her eyes cold and dark as the woman's hand found the light switch on the wall.
The lights flickered on causing the woman to groan as she turned away, her body turning to look at Sam.
Before the woman could do anything Sam without hesitation pepper sprayed the woman right in her eyes erupting a loud scream from the woman.
"Who the fuck are you?!" Sam yelled darkly as she stepped back, the screaming woman covering her already crying red eyes.
"Who the fuck are you?!" You yelled back, copying Sam's words but with much more emotion compared to Sam's tone void of one. "My eyes! I think I'm going blind?!" You screeched, Sam rolled her eyes coldly as she threateningly raised her hand up again, holding the pepper spray.
"Why are you in my apartment?" Sam demanded her patience for this drunken stranger running thin.
"My eyes are burning, oh god they're melting off aren't they?" You whined before she coughed aggressively, completely dismissing Sam's question. "Why did you attack me?" You screamed as you dropped your hands from your eyes, revealing your red bloodshot eyes with red puffy skin, tears flowing out of your eyes at a rapid pace.
"Why wouldn't I?" Sam spat out as she lowered her hand back down, although you were a complete stranger she knew she meant no harm and was only a drunken fool.
You scoffed as you glared at Sam, coughing as you covered your hand over your mouth. "Look, I don't care if you're one of Danny's sleeping buddies, I will kick your ass out of my apartment."
Danny?
"Your apartment? This is my apartment you fucking idiot, nobody named Danny even lives here!" You blinked frowned as you opened your mouth to argue, your eyes finally scanning the scenery around you, finally you noticed that this wasn't your apartment.
Your burning eyes widened dramatically as you turned to look at Sam, eyes not even focused on her.
"You're not one of Brackett's bum buddies?" You questioned in a slurring voice. Sam grimaced at the thought as she figured out you somehow knew Danny, her new friend.
"Danny doesn't even live here, lady. He lives in the apartment complex opposite of here." Sam explained through gritted teeth as she pointed towards the window you came from, pointing towards the other apartment building.
"Oh." You mumbled. Sam scoffed as she nodded her head. "Yes, oh."
"Where the fuck am I then?" Sam was about to strangle you, she swears on her dead fathers grave.
"You're in my house, not yours and Danny's, and I'd really appreciate it if you'd fuck off." Sam explained as she stormed off past you, hitting you in the shoulders as she headed towards the door.
You scoffed loudly as you sloppily turned around to peer at where Sam was going. "No need to be rude, Miss Pepper Spray." You said, laughing a little at your own words as if you were the funniest person on earth.
Sam rolled her eyes as she opened the door with force, leaning against the door. "You live with Danny Brackett?" She asked to which you nodded her head, walking towards Sam, almost tripping over yourself in your high heels.
"How do you know, Miss Pepper Spray?" You mumbled as you walked past Sam, leaving the apartment in whole.
Sam felt ever so tempted to slam the door shut and forget about you, but that gnawing feeling of letting you walk alone in the night didn't feel right to Sam. Especially since you were having issues seeing because Sam had pepper sprayed you.
Biting the inside of her cheeks she watched as you wandered to the opposite end of where the stairs were, talking to yourself at how much your eyes hurt.
"Fuck sakes." Sam grumbled before she marched towards you, dragging you back into the apartment.
"Stop moving so fast!" You whined as Sam shut the door, walking towards the dining table still holding your forearm.
Sam ignored you as she forcefully sat you down on one of the wooden chairs, turning her back on you a few seconds later to grab a 'Pepper Spray Antidote' spray from the same draw she got the pepper spray.
A purchase she had made many months ago after Chad peppered sprayed himself in the eyes.
"Am I back home?" You asked as Sam approached you, her eyes still cold as she grabbed at your jaw, making you look up at her.
Your painfully red eyes widened at the hold. "Don't kill my eyes again please!"
Sam rolled her eyes as she showed you the spray. "This will help with the pain." Sam told you, to which you beamed at. She took that as permission as she  stepped closer to you, standing between your legs as she stared down at you. Carefully she began spraying a large amount of the liquid into your eyes, her grip on your jaw softening the slightest.
As Sam suddenly noticed the closeness she couldn’t help but notice how utterly gorgeous you are.
Every single feature about you Sam couldn’t help but find attractive. Your hair, your figure, your lips, your small relieved smile and even your eyes, even when slightly swollen and bloodshot she could still admire your beauty.
Was it the wrong time to think that?
Once she sprayed more than enough on both eyes she dropped the spray onto the table. "Better?" Sam asked, you nodded your head slowly as Sam felt you lean into her hand. "Still hurts like a bitch though."
"Can you see better?" She questioned once again; her voice had softened but you couldn't tell the difference.
"Kinda."
"Good enough." She mumbled as she dropped her hand from your jaw. "I'm taking you back to your actual apartment now, lady. So c'mon."
"Lady? That's fancy." You snorted as you wobbly stood up, arms spread out as you tried to balance yourself.
Sam tried not to facepalm at the entire situation, it made it even harder since Sam for some reason made it her duty to look after you.
"Can you walk?" She asked impatiently, her eyes flickering down to your heels. You looked down with Sam, giggling like a child.
"Jesus, I forgot how big these heels are." Sam sighed as she looked around the apartment to see if there were any trainers near. Her eyes landed on her old Nike trainers, those will do, she thought to herself as she went over to grab them.
Picking them up off of the floor she returned to you. "Do you want to walk back home in these?" You nodded your head greedily at that.
"Please, my feet are killing me more than my eyes." You slurred as you dropped back down onto the chair. Slowly, you took off your heels with a relieved moan.
Not wanting to waste more time, Sam simply dropped to her knees and put the shoes on for you.
"Holy shit, I'm like cinderella." You laughed drunkenly as you looked down at Sam with amusement. Sam huffed as she gazed back up at you, an unamused look on her face. "And you're my prince charming, well, my princess charming. Girls do it better anyway."
Amen to that
Sam stood up swiftly as she offered her hand to you, to which you accepted with a lazy smile. "Thank you my princess charming who pepper sprays people."
The corners of Sam's mouth twitched upwards to which she instantly fought the urge to smile.
"Stop calling me that." Sam mumbled as she walked alongside the slightly more sobered up you, taking slow steps.
"But Miss Pepper Spray Princess Charming is such a good name." You argued with a grin as you walked much straighter than beforehand, still swaying from side to side but it had decreased compared to earlier.
Sam rolled her eyes as your high heels dangled from her hands. "Just call me my real name, Sam."
You turned to look at her with hazy eyes as you smiled widely. "Sam." You said slowly, as if you were testing her name. "I'll just call you princess Sam then."
Sam sighed instantly and she regretted telling you her name, more focused on making sure you'll make it home safely Sam stayed silent.
"So, princess Sam, you wanna guess my name?" You asked, breaking the silence that Sam hoped would fill the walk to Danny's apartment.
"No." Sam grunted as she walked in front of you while walking down the stairs, just in case you'd fall on her, Sam breaking your fall.
You rolled your eyes at Sam's boring answer. "No isn't my name. Try again?"
"Can't we walk in silence until we arrive at yours and Danny's apartment?" You shook your head with a goofy grin as Sam held the door open for you, giggling as you walked past her. "Thank you princess charming Sam, and the answer is no. So guess!"
"Jesus Christ." The tall woman muttered under her breath as she walked by your side, her shoulder touching yours. You snorted as you turned to look at her with an amused expression. "I ain't the big J."
"Annoying?" Sam said sarcastically.
"You're really bad at this guessing game you know." You mumbled as you accidentally leaned closer to Sam as you walked.
Sam huffed a dry laugh as she looked around the quiet street before she crossed the road with you.
"And you really know how to be fucking annoying."
"That's kinda of a cunt thing to say rather than charming, princess Sam." You remarked with a giggle.
Sam's jaw tightened as she would've rather went to the party with Tara rather than have to deal with you, a drunken stranger breaking into her house.
"You're just gonna give up on the guessing game?" You teased with a slight slur still audible to your voice.
Sam nodded her head curtly as she opened the double doors to the apartment complex, holding it open for you once again.
"Guess you'll never find out then." You said as you strolled over to the elevator, grinning to yourself as you entered it.
"How sad." She spat out sarcastically. Sam followed as she stood next to you, who's leaning against the wall.
You clicked the button '7' and within a second the doors closed as a soft hum of elevator music filled up the metal box, taking the two of you upwards.
You hummed along with the music, eyes focused on the small digital clock on top of the doors. Sam studied you -who was completely unaware of her peering eyes- with an un described expression.
Had it been anyone else Sam would've thrown them out without a second thought, maybe even gone further than pepper spraying if the person fought back. But she's going all the steps with you, a complete stranger who randomly lives with her friend.
Is she only doing this in case Danny would find out she had kicked out his venerable and stupid roommate at night, or was it something else?
Sam isn't sure herself.
The elevator dinged loudly dragging Sam out of her thoughts, you sighed as you sluggishly walked out of the elevator, Sam following behind you.
You walked over to the apartment door to which Sam quickly wrapped her long slender fingers around your wrist, dragging you towards the correct door she knew Danny Brackett lived in.
"My saviour, princess Sam." You giggled to yourself.
Sam had completely run out of her patience by this moment, her body tired as she had to deal with this drunken stranger.
Banging on the door roughly with her hand in a tight fist, she stayed like that until a pissed off Danny opened the door.
His eyes widened in confusion as he took in the scene of you, still drunk and leaning against Sam and Sam with an unamused expression.
"You're lucky I didn't kill her." She mumbled to him. You grinned as you noticed Danny, throwing your arms up in the air.
"Ignore her Danny, Princess Sam is just grumpy." You told him as you walked past him, turning to look at Sam one final time, grinning like a fool as you waved enthusiastically. "Bye princess charming Sam."
Sam rolled her eyes as she fluttered her eyes away from your figure to Danny's very apparent smirk.
"Princess Sam?" He asked with amusement, Sam shook her head in annoyance. "Don't."
He laughed as he crossed his arms over his chest, glancing back at you tripping into your room before he leaned against the doorframe.
"Did you see her at the club?" He asked to which Sam shook her head, stifling a dry laugh.
"She broke into my apartment thinking it was yours, so I pepper sprayed her." Danny's eyes widened dramatically as she did a double take back to the direction of your room.
"Fuck, I'm so sorry Sam. That couldn't have been nice. Y/n is such a stupid twat when she gets hammered." He apologised with a sympathetic smile. "Thank you for making sure she got home safe though, even though what she did was just stupid."
Y/n, that name suits her, Sam can't help but think.
Sam laughed for the first time that day as she nodded her head in agreement with him. "Very."
He sighed as he rubbed his eyes with his index finger and thumb. "I'm gonna go make sure she doesn't choke on her own puke. Again, sorry about her."
"Goodnight, Danny." Sam said with a crooked smile before she turned to leave, more desperate to get to her bed than before.
____________
That night it didn’t take long for Sam to fall asleep. Tara was thankfully back in the apartment and fast asleep in her bed before Sam had even arrived back, which granted Sam permission to lock the door.
Sam couldn’t help but think about you as she fell asleep, much to her annoyance. Her mind kept wandering back to you at any given moment.
Why hadn’t she heard Danny mention you before? How much did you have to drink? How the fuck could someone be so breath takingly beautiful even when shitfaced? Did you think of Sam before you fell asleep?
Eventually Sam managed to fall asleep and stayed asleep for the rest of the night until the day. For the first time in a long time, Sam didn’t have a shift the next morning so the woman could have a much needed lay in.
Waking up around eleven Tara had somehow awakened before her, tiredly making her hangover breakfast. Sam grinned as she entered the kitchen to greet her sister, feeling much better than her younger sister.
The two chatted amongst each other as Sam helped Tara cook since she was convinced Tara was the absolute worst cook ever, always burning or undercooking her meals. After the two had made their meals they moved to eat it in the living room, Tara putting on Brooklyn Nine Nine for them to watch.
As they began eating a loud knock was heard at the door, Tara groaned at the loud noise as Sam sighed getting up from the comfy couch. She placed her plate on the coffee table before she walked over to the door, looking through the peephole she was surprised to see you standing there wearing thick black sunglasses and a small backpack.
Sam hesitated for a moment but reluctantly unlocked the door for you, leaning against the doorframe once she opened the door. You gave Sam a nervous smile as your hand went to lay on the back of your neck.
“Hey, Sam.” You croaked out in a much more sober voice compared to the one you had last night. “Did you sleep well?” You added after a few seconds.
Sam shrugged her shoulders as her eyes gazed at your face, a weird feeling tugging at her heartstrings the longer she gazed at your sunglasses, knowing you were hiding your swollen red eyes.
“Slept as well as a robber after a successful break in.” You chuckled as you nodded your head weakly, your hand dropping from your neck. “I guess that wasn’t the best way to meet, was it?”
Sam scoffed loudly. “No it was not.”
You smiled nervously at the woman as Sam noticed a small blush appearing on your cheeks. “I’m really sorry about that, by the way. I drank way too much, and I know that’s not an excuse for my actions, but the alcohol definitely didn’t help me in any way.” You apologised with an awkward laugh.
For some reason Sam found amusement in the entire situation, fighting the urge to smile because of you once again. “Yeah, I heard you mumbling something about never touching jäger again.”
You automatically winced at the words as if they were revolting, this time Sam couldn’t help but let out a dry laugh at the sight. “I’m honestly impressed I can even stand up straight right now. I had like sixteen shots of jäger from a drinking game.” You said as you pointed at your sunglasses. “Which explains why I'm wearing these glasses indoors, I cannot handle light at all right now. Plus I didn’t want to traumatise people with my fucked up eyes.”
“At least the glasses make you look like a bodyguard.” Sam inquired with a small smile tugging at her lips, you laughed as you nodded your head. “Robber by night, con artist by day.” You say grinning.
Sam laughs at the stupid joke, the corner of her eyes crinkling as her lips curl upwards in a larger smiler.
Why the fuck am I laughing so hard, that was a shit joke.
“Anyway, I came here for another reason other than apologising.” You explained as you shrugged off your bag. Sam watched you carefully as you took out Sam’s borrowed pair of shoes, smiling nervously as you passed them back over. “Thanks for letting me borrow these, Princess Charming.”
Sam rolled her eyes as she snatched the shoes from you, biting her inner cheek. “Just call me Sam..”
You shook your head as you smirked, letting out a low laugh as you zipped your bag back closed, throwing it over your shoulders. “But you’re the princess charming to my cinderella.”
“Whatever.” Sam muttered with a small smile.
You sighed as you glanced down the hallway before you looked back at Sam, your mouth opening to say something before you abruptly shut it before any words could be uttered. Pursing your lips you nodded your head at Sam.
“See you around, Sam.”
Sam almost frowned as she noticed you were leaving, instead she gave you a curt nod back. You waited for a second for Sam to say anything but she stayed silent, you smiled at her one final time before you turned to leave.
She watched you leave until you were fully out of her view, only then she sighed before reentering her apartment, holding her shoes as she walked back towards the living room.
“Who was that?” Tara asked, her voice loud taking Sam by surprise, making the woman drop the shoes. “Shit.” Sam grumbled as she bent down to pick them up, as she snatched at the pair she noticed a piece of paper on the floor.
Her brows furrowed together confused as she went to grab it with her free hand. As Sam read the small ripped piece of paper the corners of her lips curled up into a smile.
“i usually make better first impressions, maybe i could show you on a date sometime? :)

I hope you're doing okay 🙏I've been thinking lately and thought why not share it with my favorite fellow yujin simp.
just thinking about how she needs you really bad but you're at an I've practise of hers or in a dressing room for one of her performances.
Baby girl comes up to you all cutely 🥺🥺and hugs you to then whisper in your ear how badly she needs you, she's been thinking about it ALL DAY and having you so close is driving her wild.🥴
You successfully escape the said room to find a quite place to ruin her in. Telling her to be quite for you, "you don't want anyone to hear us right love?"🤭🤫
Yujin being a mess, gripping at your clothes, whining and moaning in your ear😳, bitting your neck as she's close to silence herself 'cause she knows she'd be to loud otherwise. she' s been craving you for hours and that build up + your fingers is just to much for our puppy. 🥰
Also can I be 🧇anon?
tee hee this was 🧇 anon's first ask but i couldn't work on it back then :((( SO HERE I AM :DDDD choosing the dressing room setting too cuz 👀
thinking about yujin who feels like she can't wait for you to touch her until the end of her performance so she's glued to you the entire time she and the girls were sitting patiently in their room waiting for their turn on the stage :((( her pressing her cheek against your shoulder, smiling fondly as you made jokes with jiwon and gaeul, listened intently while rei was telling a story, laughing at your stupid antics with hyunseo and wony, she was so in love with you :((( her mind turning into a puddle when you put your hand on her thigh... you didn't mean to turn her on or anything! and it wasn't your fault that she was so desperate to be fucked! 😵‍💫
her tugging at your sleeve, putting her lips close to your ear, "i really need you, unnie... i'm so wet." see, you weren't really the type to just have sex anywhere whenever you want, so you looked at her with wide eyes at first 😭😭 yujinnie thinking that she might have weirded you out, pouting and looking away, more than ready to just hold it all back until you wanted to touch her :((( but then you excused yujin and yourself to a separate, small empty room right next door 🤭 surprising yujin when you pressed her back against the wall, your knee already sneaking in between her thighs 🫠
yujin was by no means a hard sub but it was rare to see her as she is right now: needy and impatient, practically begging for you to fuck her with the way she grinded on your thigh,, "please, please, please..." she was whining so cutely ☹️ you were never able to say no to yujin... but this was such a once in a lifetime opportunity to push her over the edge for omce,, she always got what she wanted from you, so why not have fun and mess with her for now?? pulling down her safety shorts along with her panties, pressing your thigh against her bare cunt,, yujinnie thinking that you were going to fuck her hard and fast but immediately reads your intent when you started kissing up her neck,, "unnie.. un-unnie, please... just fuck me, i need you..." but she can't help liking the feeling of your lips on her skin :(((
you were careful not to leave marks, but with how weakly you were kissing her yujin only grew more desperate 🫠 she grabs one of the hands you've placed on her breasts and puts it close to her cunt but you swat her hand away, "let me have my way with you or else i'll refuse to touch you the entire day." and that seemed to shut her up quickly,, the pup needed some training anyway,, telling you all that nasty stuff while in the presence of her staff team and members! you would have found it embarrassing had someone heard her... but you'll let it pass just this once bcs yujin was being so cute 🤭
pinching her nipples through all the fabric she was wearing,, yujinnie whining so much bcs while she does feel something, it's not enough :(( humping your thigh mildly to stimulate her clit,, "oh, puppy... you're drenched... you must be really horny, hm?" teasing her after seeing the mess she's made from her wetness alone,, yujin refusing to make eye contact bcs she knew why this was such a big deal to you :((( "you gonna come just from this?" and despite being desperate to come, yujin still had this huge ass pride and refuses to give you more reasons to make fun of her so she holds her climax back,,
it wasn't going to be for long though 😈 without warning, you thrusted two fingers inside her, deeply and harshly,, yujinnie having to hold you so close to drown out her moans,, hands clutching onto your clothes so tightly you thought she was going to rip them to shreds,, "u-unnie..! unnie, unnie..!!" she was so loud 🫣🫣 but your thrusts never ceased even with the risk of being caught,, you only fucked her faster and even deeper, hitting all of her sweet spots and turning her brain into mush with each hit,, slipping a third finger in so suddenly?? spreading her cunt and using your other hand to play with her clit—god, yujin was screaming at this point...
"come lots, yujin-ah.. make this risk worth it.. you're unnie's good girl, aren't you? aren't you, puppy?"
between the nickname, the three fingers stretching her pussy so fucking well, and your breath on her neck, yujin came hard—writhing beneath you and biting your shirt as she squirted all over your fingers,,, legs shaking so hard she nearly collapses, tears squeezing out the corner of her eyes bcs of her climax :((( "thank you.. thank you..." and she doesn't forget to kiss you and clean up the mess on your hand herself,, licking and sucking,, grinning at your flustered face at the sight,, whether she's subbing or domming, yujin will never not drive you insane 🥴
she definitely asks for more if there's time!! otherwise both of you will be at it all night long, no breaks—just how she likes it 😈

The Story Of Us lyrics
I used to think one day we'd tell the story of us
How we met and the sparks flew instantly
And people would say, "They're the lucky ones"
I used to know my place was the spot next to you
Now I'm searchin' the room for an empty seat
'Cause lately I don't even know what page you're on
Oh, a simple complication
Miscommunications lead to fallout
So many things that I wish you knew
So many walls up, I can't break through
Now I'm standin' alone in a crowded room
And we're not speakin'
And I'm dyin' to know, is it killin' you
Like it's killin' me? Yeah
I don't know what to say since the twist of fate
When it all broke down
And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now
Next chapter
How'd we end up this way?
See me nervously pulling at my clothes and tryin' to look busy
And you're doin' your best to avoid me
I'm starting to think one day I'll tell the story of us
How I was losin' my mind when I saw you here
But you held your pride like you should've held me
Oh, I'm scared to see the ending
Why are we pretending this is nothin'?
I'd tell you I miss you, but I don't know how
I've never heard silence quite this loud
Now I'm standin' alone in a crowded room
And we're not speakin'
And I'm dyin' to know, is it killin' you
Like it's killin' me? Yeah
I don't know what to say since the twist of fate
When it all broke down
And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now
This is looking like a contest
Of who can act like they care less
But I liked it better when you were on my side
The battle's in your hands now
But I would lay my armor down
If you said you'd rather love than fight
So many things that you wish I knew
But the story of us might be ending soon
Now I'm standin' alone in a crowded room
And we're not speakin'
And I'm dyin' to know, is it killin' you
Like it's killin' me? Yeah
And I don't know what to say since the twist of fate
When it all broke down
And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now, now, now
And we're not speakin'
And I'm dyin' to know, is it killin' you
Like it's killin' me? Yeah
I don't know what to say since the twist of fate
'Cause we're goin' down
And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now
The end

Never Grow Up lyrics
Your little hand's wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in, turn on your favourite nightlight
To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, just stay this little
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you
Won't let no one break your heart
And no one will desert you
Just try to never grow up
Never grow up
You're in the car, on the way to the movies
And you're mortified your mom's dropping you off
At fourteen, there's just so much you can't do
And you can't wait to move out someday and call your own shots
But don't make her drop you off around the block
Remember that she's gettin' older, too
And don't lose the way that you dance around
In your PJs getting ready for school
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, just stay this little
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple
No one's ever burned you
Nothing's ever left you scarred
And even though you want to
Just try to never grow up
Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room
Memorize what it sounded like when your dad gets home
Remember the footsteps, remember the words said
And all your little brother's favorite songs
I just realized everything I have is, someday, gonna be gone
So, here I am in my new apartment
In a big city, they just dropped me off
It's so much colder than I thought it would be
So I tuck myself in and turn my nightlight on
Wish I'd never grown up
I wish I'd never grown up
Oh, I don't wanna grow up
Wish I'd never grown up, I could still be little
Oh, I don't wanna grow up
Wish I'd never grown up, it could still be simple
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, just stay this little
Oh, darlin', don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you (Never grow up)
Won't let no one break your heart
And even though you want to
Please, try to never grow up
Oh, oh (Never grow up)
Don't you ever grow up
Oh (Never grow up)
Just never grow up

Tumblr media
Oh I'm scared to see the ending why are we pretending this is nothing? I'd tell you I miss you but I don't know how... I've never heard silence quite this loud. Taylor Swift - The Story of Us
Tumblr media
"If he thinks I'm going to wear this, I would be more than happy to go and tell him that I'm not." you snort as you sit in the huge (very comfortable) bed in the room Aleksander has assigned you in the Little Palace.
Genya sighed as she put the black kefta with golden sun embellishments and sunbeams on the bed. Kefta was beautiful… if only it hadn't been tainted by his colour.
"The general insisted that you wear black to your presentation to the royal family."
"And I insist that he shouldn't take me to that circus. Did you tell him that?" the redhead giggled in amusement, which made me smile slightly.
It was a big change for her. After the first time I disobeyed Aleksander's orders, Genya looked at me with a mixture of fear, confusion and concern. However, she quickly learned that such skirmishes between us were the norm ... or at least I wasn't punished for them in any way. Except for Aleksander's inborn malice, which he surely gained from his mother.
"Oh I did… and General told me to tell you that if he had to, he'd carry you all the way to the Grand Palace himself. No matter what you would be wearing."
"Bastard." you mutter under your breath. You get out of bed and look at the kefta Genya made for you.
"The General doesn't let just anyone walk in his colors." she tells you in a conspiratorial tone. A small, mischievous smirk stretches across her lips.
Tumblr media
You flinch, feigning disgust. "Don't even insinuate such things to me. He must be too old for me... Better tell me how your handsome friend Durast is?" you ask teasingly, laughing as you see the blush on her cheeks.
She bends down and steals a pillow from your bed to throw at you. You toss pillows, laughing. You both stop when, suddenly, after your dodging, a pillow thrown by Genya is caught by Aleksander standing in the doorway.
"Are you two enjoying yourself?" he asks, raising an eyebrow at both of you.
"Shouldn't you knock first before entering a lady's room?" you snort sarcastically, already annoyed by his serious, sepulchral demeanour.
"Shouldn't you be dressed already?"
"I don't like black and I'm allergic to royalty, so I'm not going," you say, crossing your arms. "And give me back my pillow."
Aleksander sighs as he throws a pillow at you, and if it wasn't for your quick reflexes, he would have punched you in the face. "Genya, wait a moment outside." he says as he enters your room and waits for the door to close behind the redhead.
You look at him defiantly with your arms crossed. "I'm not going anywhere." you declare firmly.
Aleksander sighs as he walks over to you. "Don't be a brat. I have hundreds of years of plans that will go awry if you don't do this one thing for me. So, for the sake of Grishas, put your pride in your pocket and please put on this kefta."
"And how do you know your plans are good for them?"
Ever since you arrived at the Little Palace, the subject of the fold has come up many times between you... mostly it ended with you both taking offence at each other and taking your anger out on the other.
"We'll discuss this another time. Please, Y/N." he asks. You roll your eyes but take the kefta from the bed anyway. "Thank you," he says with relief.
"I'm not doing this for you." you say coldly and walk past him, locking yourself in the bathroom to change. You hear him stand still for a moment, processing your words, before storming out of the room in anger, letting Genya inside.
You could have kept quiet about his true identity and the plans he'd revealed to you, but you weren't going to stand by his side. No matter how he tries to convince you. And after looking at yourself in the mirror and at the kefta in his colours, you come to a terrible, but true conclusion.
You looked good in black…
Tumblr media
"Her name is Y/N Y/L/N. And she is going to free as all." Aleksander introduces you to the crowd that has gathered and the royal family. You wince slightly at the drama of his words. Fortunately, in the darkness of the shadows he has summoned, only you two can see each other now.
He stands in front of you and watches carefully as you summon several beams of light.
It must not be enough for him, because suddenly he grabs you by the wrist... and then the real show happens.
You immediately feel his amplifying powers. You feel a familiar haze of daze, a sense of power and authority as light pours out of you, burning your veins from the inside out.
You like that feeling... it scares you as much as it fascinates you. And just by looking at Aleksander's smug, almost proud face, you know he's boasting that he still has such power over you... that he can still make you shine for him.
You look each other in the eye. Each with their own emotions. This time, you can see through his eyes what he feels. Pride. Admiration... the longing hidden behind the way he stared at you and your light as if he was enchanted.
Tumblr media
He stepped aside, facing the royal family again. You yanked your hand out of his grip and, ignoring the disgruntled frown on his face, ended the show.
You were furious. You knew why he did it. He wanted to show exactly how much power you wield. That they fear you as much as they fear him. And he succeeded. Only he looked at you unwaveringly. The rest of the crowd either looked down, whispering to each other, or stared appraisingly at you.
Then the real hell began. For an hour, you were the main attraction, entertaining the nobility with your skills and your fake origin story. You didn't know what was worse. The fact that you voluntarily became a little toy at the royal court or that the constant presence of Aleksander by your side brought you some kind of relief and you were able to survive this torture thanks to him.
And the last thing you wanted to feel about that son of a bitch was gratitude. Not after he was the reason you had to come here. Therefore, as soon as you were able to leave the Grand Palace, you decided that you would act like a child and not speak to him. To which he just smiled under his breath. His mischievous grin was still as hot as it had been hundreds of years ago. Even better with his beard and shorter hair. Damn bastard.
Just as you are about to walk back into the Little Palace, you feel his hand on your elbow. You raise a questioning eyebrow at him. He doesn't answer you. He still smirks as he leads you away from the Little Palace to a place only he knows.
You roll your eyes. Apparently, you have to speak first if you want to know where he's taking you.
"All right. You won." You huff angrily. "Where are you dragging me? My room is over there." you say, pointing to the building next to you two.
"I think you'll appreciate fresh air more than closed walls. Especially after you've been stuck there with nobles and royals for so long." you snort, not for a moment believing in his sudden concern for your well-being.
Aleksander looks around, trying to make sure you're alone. He looks at you intently for a moment. A spark of mischief in his eyes. Then, at the speed of light, he unhooks your grandmother's bracelet from your wrist and runs away with it.
You stand there for a moment in shock before you run after him. "Hey! Give it back!" you shout after the retreating shadow summoner, who laughs.
Fortunately, his black kefta is easily spotted in gardens, so you have no problem tracking it. He stops suddenly, and you bump right into him. You fall to the ground, and he is beneath you.
You can't help but snort in amusement, then laugh when you see that he's somehow gotten his cheek dirty in the earth. He smiles and giggles too. You both stop when you see how close the two of you are after you reach up to his face and brush away clods of earth with your thumb.
His dark brown eyes watch you intently. You feel yourself blush under his intense gaze. But before he reaches out to cup your cheek with his hand (and maybe raise himself up on one elbow to kiss you), you reach for your bracelet and quickly stand up.
You fasten the bracelet around your wrist with his name on it and look around. You gasp as you see that he has led you to a beautiful lake with a small island in the centre.
"Do you like it?" Aleksander whispers in your ear. You turn your head towards him, freeze when you see how close he is to you. You involuntarily lick your lips as you look into his eyes.
"That's nice." you say, and you move away from him to go to the pier.
He doesn't stay far behind. After a while, he walks beside you. You both sit on the edge, arm in arm. You take off your shoes and dip your feet in the water while playing. You feel Aleksander's eyes on you, and out of the corner of your eye, you see a smirk on his face.
"I used to want to be a tidemaker. When I was a child, I was frustrated that I couldn't use my powers in public. My grandmother used to take me to the lake, and I had only one desire while swimming..."
"To be anyone else." he finishes for you. You shift your gaze from the lake to him. He stares into the distance, as if remembering the past. "Stop being afraid of being ostracised and hated by both Ravkans and Grishas. Stop being afraid that one day your "brothers and sisters" will stand against you. Stop being a changeling."
"Yeah… something like that." you reply bitterly, shifting your gaze back to the lake. The wind blows lightly across your face, blowing strands of hair from Genya's scruffy hairstyle.
You wrinkle your nose, trying to loosen the intricate bun with braids in it. Aleksander giggles as he sees you struggle with a complicated hairstyle.
"May I?" he asks, pointing to your hair.
You raise an eyebrow at him. "You know how to… undo it?" you ask, surprised. He laughs genuinely and carelessly at your reaction, sitting down behind you. You blush slightly at the sound you've missed over the centuries.
"I have a younger sister." he says nonchalantly, starting to untangle your complicated hairstyle.
It's a good thing he's sitting behind you, or he'd have seen your mouth open in shock. Somehow, you couldn't imagine him as… a sibling.
"A sister?" you ask, too curious to let the subject go. He just croons in confirmation. Annoyingly, he untangles your tresses well. You barely feel his hand movements. "Will you tell me more about her?"
"She's almost as stubborn and irritating as you are." you snort, offended, feeling the first loose strands of hair fall down your back with relief. "Her name is Ulla."
Aleksander is not effusive. He wasn't like that even when you first met. That's why there's something… intimate about him sharing a piece of his past with you.
"So… Baghra had more of you?" you ask curious.
"Perhaps... but only I was... like her." A Shadow Summoner - you think. And deep down, you suspect that Baghra wasn't the one who looked after Ulla. Aleksander snaps you out of your thoughts as he strokes your already loose hair. "Done." he says and stands up.
"Thank you." you tell him. You stand up too and grab your shoes as you both walk off the pier.
"And you?" he asks, walking beside you. "Any siblings to tease?" you snort in amusement as you put on your shoes.
"No. My mother died… quite early and I never knew my father."
"You never wanted to meet him?" he asks curiously. You know why. He never knew his father either… you wonder if he ever wanted to meet him himself…
"No." you speak quickly, sure of your answer. "I had a grandmother. I didn't need anyone else."
"Had?" he asks, raising an eyebrow. You sigh, involuntarily playing with the bracelet on your wrist.
"She died." you speak calmly… in an empty tone learned over the years, betraying no emotion.
After so many centuries, Aleksander knew there was no point in saying I'm sorry. Not for you. He knew that the last thing you would expect in such a situation were words so empty or full of feigned regret, often repeated by people. He decided to go with a rather safer and definitely more meaningful question for the people in your situation.
"When?"
"Centuries ago." silence fell between the two of you, and realisation hit Aleksander. You were utterly alone. For so many centuries. You didn't have anyone standing by your side.
If Aleksander was sure you'd let him, he'd lock you in his embrace and not let you go until he's sure you know he'll always be there for you... that he's been your shelter whether you love, like, or hate him with all your heart. He would always be there for you.
You change the subject, trying to avoid his questions. Fortunately, he doesn't insist. For a moment, you're back to those kids who met hundreds of years ago. Only Aleksander and Y/N. No summoners of shadows or sun. And you can't help feeling how easy it is to get into that old routine with him.
However, everything changes when you are back on the palace grounds. You feel Grishas' heavy, hopeful, admiring eyes on you again. And you feel overwhelmed by your new role. You were not a saint. You were not a hero or a person who changed the world.
And by the soft smile on Aleksander's face, you're reminded that the man you were talking to so freely and openly just a moment ago wants it all. He wants you to stand by his side and change the world... not necessarily for the better for everyone.
"I guess I didn't get a chance to tell you sooner, but you look lovely, by the way." he says, looking at you. The black kefta suddenly weighs heavily on you more than before… and explains the soft whispers of some Grishas.
Tumblr media
You roll your eyes. You suddenly remembered why you couldn't trust him. And you mentally chastised yourself for letting him manipulate you. You had to raise your walls again. "I know you too well and I'm too old to be seduced by you."
"I thought you were too smart for that?" he is teasing you, remembering what you said to him the first time you met. You look around to make sure that no one can hear your conversation.
"I was wise. Before I met the Black Heretic and let my guard down." it is obvious from the slight furrow of his brow in anger that he does not like the nickname. You make a mental note to call him that way more often when you're alone.
"There was a time when names didn't matter to us. Where all you cared about was the real me. Not the way others saw me." he says, and if you were still that naive girl, you'd think you saw a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
"You're right. At that time, I never imagined you would turn out to be..."
"I'm still the same man, Y/N..." he interrupts you with obvious hurt in his eyes. You both stop in front of the door of the Little Palace. Aleksander tries to read in your eyes where this sudden change of mood and coldness come from. "As you are the same wonan."
"No." you shake your head. "I'm not. And the boy I knew and loved died hundreds of years ago in the fold."
You see your words hurt him. And for a brief moment, he lets you see right through his eyes. He lets you see the pain and the tears that threatened to run down his cheeks.
But he doesn't let his emotions take over. You both live too long not to be able to hide them whenever you want... but that doesn't mean it hurts any less.
"What a pity... If you change your mind, you know where to find me."
You watch his receding silhouette with a heavy heart, and you can't help but wonder… did you two really seem so different after all?
You shake your head. NO. You couldn't fall into the arms of a man who took everything you knew, your last shelter... and you didn't want to admit to yourself that you still had TWO known arms that could be your shelter... Unfortunately for you, they were wearing a black kefta, symbolising his shadows.
Tumblr media
All you remember is a scream.
A loud, soul-piercing scream.
Actually, not one. Not short. Not temporary.
And with the screams came darkness. A darkness that made people lose sight of their loved ones. It didn't matter if it was Grisha or Otkazat'sya. Everyone died. One after the another.
No one knew from where, in a few seconds, shadows appeared instead of a clear sky and sun. All that could be seen in the shadow fold were only the fingers on your hands.
And after a while, they joined the shadows. Human-eating creatures. Volcra.
You were running ahead with a light orb in your hand. Beside you was your grandmother, shooing the creatures away.
You ran together, trying to find a way out of the vast sea of shadows that surrounded you. At some point, a scared group of people started running straight at you, trying to get as close to your light as possible and hide. You split up, trying to lose the crowd of people who might remember your faces. But you couldn't leave them alone. You created a great orb of light and left the people behind, making sure the orb would follow them.
As you offered to help others, you paid little attention to your surroundings. Volcra surrounded you, and one of them lunged at you from behind. You'd be dead... if your grandmother hadn't thrown herself in front of you. But before she could create a sufficient orb of light, the volcra struck her in the heart.
Your scream mingled with the screams of the people around you. Grandmother's blood mixed with the blood of others. You kneeled by her until the end… until she gave you her amplifier, and with the last of her strength, she used all her power to illuminate the area around you, killing the nearest volcras.
You were completely alone in the darkness of the fold. Tears dripped from your eyes onto your cheeks and bleed the earth beneath you, your screams of despair slowly becoming the only audible sound in the fold.
You were all alone.
You flinched as you felt a hand on your shoulder. You closed your eyes, waiting for the volcra to attack as usual in this particular dream, but nothing came...
Nothing but a warm embrace and a familiar scent that you only associated with security and safety.
With tears in your eyes, you threw yourself into Aleksander's arms, crying into his chest. And you couldn't help but shiver as his hands stroked your back, pressing you tight against his chest as he kissed the top of your head.
"You're not alone." he whispered, holding you close to him. And for a brief moment, you wanted it all to be real...
Tumblr media
Wandering around the Little Palace at night turned out to be something that did not bring you peace. Contrary. After overhearing a conversation between a pair of guard soldiers, you storm Aleksander's chambers, furious, frustrated, angry, and… disappointed.
You don't bother knocking or stopping at the soldiers guarding his chambers… you wonder for a moment why they even let you into his chambers late at night, but decide to think about it another time while you focus on the rage bubbling inside you.
You stormed into his war room and if it weren't for the late hour and the fact that you didn't want to wake anyone else but him, you would have slammed the door loudly behind you.
Then you see him. The object of all your negative feelings. The reason for all your anger and hurt… Grandmother was right, he should have been kicked in the ass and left to freeze to death in that lake while there was still a chance to get rid of him.
He stands before his war table, where there are maps, soldier figures, and something that looks like a fold. He drinks kvass. You send a little prayer to the saints, hoping that one day he'll choke on it.
"Aleksander." you say, warning him of your arrival before you unleash hell.
He looks at you with a slight shock that gives way to something like a sense of awe and adoration, as if he is trying to keep in his memory the way you look right now. You're suddenly very aware of your black and gold nightgown, which reveals more of your skin than he's ever seen. You could have changed into something else if you've already wanted to yell at him… or at least put on a bathrobe.
Tumblr media
And with those puppy eyes he gives you, he almost melts your heart… almost.
"We need to talk." you say in a cool tone, trying not to give your emotions away.
"Of course. Come in. Do you want something to drink?" it annoys you. His calmness and composure when anger is burning inside you more than ever… and for some unknown reason you feel betrayed… as if you couldn't foresee that he is exactly like any man.
"No, I… You know. Give it." you say, taking a glass of kvass from him and drinking it all down. He raises an eyebrow in surprise but doesn't comment. Good for him. You decide to go straight to the heart of the matter. "Are all your female Grishas are whores for the royal family or just Genya?" you ask in an accusatory tone.
He widens his eyes, not expecting such a question. He takes the glass from you and puts it on the table. Then he turns his gaze back to you and speaks in that damn calm tone.
"Y/N... You don't understand..."
"YOU KNOW how much we suffered at the hand of the king, and yet you sent that poor girl there? And you told her to be his whore? IN THE NAME OF WHAT, Aleksander?!" you explode. Aleksander's head flies to the closed door.
Very good - you think. You want the bastard to worry about someone overhearing you... you're not sure you'll even tell him that you asked the soldiers (with all the politeness and composure you have left) to go check on the commotion in the gardens. By the time they realise there's nothing going on, you'll be done here long ago... or you'll have to hide their general's body. You don't know how it's going to end yet.
"Shh! Someone will hear." he tries to silence you and walks to the door, closing it.
"DO NOT SHUSH ME! I don't care what your plans are, but I am taking Genya out of there once and for good. And nobody can stop me."
"Y/N... please let's talk calmly." he says as he slowly walks over to you to stand in front of you.
"Do you want to talk calmly? Fine. I am calmly informing you that Genya is returning to the Little Palace and getting her own kefta. Not some white servant shit you made her wear."
"Genya's service is part of the great plan of things she willingly agreed to." Killing the king. You finish for him in your head, linking the king's increasingly deteriorating health to a mad heretic's grand plan.
You may have been different, but you knew each other's thoughts and ways of acting. It doesn't change that quickly over time… even if he has given himself more to his darkness and you more to your light. But hell will take you if you agree with his way of working…
"Because she had no other choice! You say you despise the king and everything his ancestors did to us, and that's what you are, doing exactly the same thing, if not worse, to your own people who are as loyal and faithful as dogs to you!"
You yelled furiously at him, and from the crease on his forehead and the hurt look in his eyes that turned to anger when you compared him to a king, you knew that there would be a war between the two of you today.
"You have no idea what's going on! You have no idea why I do what I do. You come here, accuse me of the worst, and make childish claims! Maybe you should finally wake up and see that, actually, I am the only one who does anything for our people, even if it means going to the worst!" you bit your lip in anger.
You both knew where to hit each other so that it hurt the most. You in his immoral, dubious ways of acting to win this eternal war for the good of the Grishas, and him in your passivity and hiding for centuries. But you're not giving this bastard the privilege of having the last word.
"And that's a very beautiful transition to the second topic, which is the fold and your plans to expand it. What is it? Another necessary evil? Do you know how many lives it has taken? Not just Otkazat'syas."
He laughs bitterly and licks his lips as you return to your most divisive topic. "Your obsession with the fold is naive."
You growl angrier at him. Only he was able to drive you crazy with one look, comment, or mocking smile. Good for him that you had similar power over him... otherwise, you would probably have tried to scratch his eyes out long ago.
"The fold took everything from me! From us all!"
"You think I don't know that? That I'm not reminded of it at my every single step?! That I forgot that I created it?! NO Y/N! I remember it perfectly! I remember the king's men chasing us and wanting to kill us like dogs, I remember the Fjerdans and Shu kidnapping and killing them either out of hatred or experimenting on us, I remember all of that, Y/N! You weren't there! You don't know why it happened, why I had to do what I did."
"Maybe you're right. Maybe I don't know why, but I was there when the shadows started to cover the ground, when the innocent people living in the territory of the emerging fold started turning into volcra because a certain shadow summoner decided to play a saint!"
He seems taken aback by your words, but he quickly puts his mask on his face. He turns his back on you and walks over to the war table, staring at the map, speaking in a calm, emotionless voice this time.
"You should leave now."
"We didn't finish..." he cuts you off before you can say anything else. With every word he says, the frustration and anger in his voice get clearer. The room is darkened by his shadows.
"The disclosure of your existence has brought our enemies ever closer to the border. An uprising is brewing in the west, led by a general of the First Army. Our own people in Ravka are against us. Our resources are dwindling, the noose is tightening, and our own people are turning against Grisha just like the king once did. The last thing I need right now is to argue with you. So leave. And let me continue fighting this war alone."
You don't know why you're doing it or what drives you, but you walk over to him and grab his hand. You both don't control the power flowing within you, so when your skin touches his, you feel him amplify your powers. You create a bubble of pure white light around you that dispels his shadows.
Tumblr media
It's like at the throne room again. The two of you are staring at each other as your white light surrounds you. Only this time, Aleksander doesn't look at you like a capture or booty; there's not a single trace of pride or annoyance on his face, as you feared.
No...
He looks at you as the last light in the darkness of his soul. A reminder that he is not alone and that as long as you are by his side, his shadows will never consume him like in his worst nightmares. You were here. Next to him. Holding his hand in yours and shining like the last star in his dark sky devoid of hope.
For a moment, he was transported back to those times when, hundreds of years ago, you were both there for each other, alleviating all insecurities, sorrows, and dilemmas without even knowing each other's names. Just being there for another similar lost and lonely soul... not much has changed in those few centuries.
You'd tell him you missed him but you don't know how...
And he was dying to know if this aloofness and mistrust were killing you as much as they were killing him.
You let go of his hand. The light around you slowly faded away, leaving the two of you in darkness as you stared enchanted at each other.
Tumblr media
"What are you doing?" he asks in a whisper, never taking his eyes off yours. The anger is gone from both you and him. You just stare at each other, both of you unable to take your eyes off the other.
You did not know what you were doing. Really. Aleksander had a tendency to make you do inexplicable things…
He knew you were as lost as him. So many centuries on earth, and none of you have yet learned… how to live. Hundreds of years and you still felt like lost children in the mist, trying to control everything around you, pretending to others that you were in control or knew perfectly what you were doing.
That's why he didn't question your lack of response. Or that you stayed in the dark, staring through each other for a moment longer. Both of you feel that for the first time in hundreds of long years, you are facing someone who is facing similar demons.
One thing was sure.
You have never heard silence speaking about dormant feelings quite this loudly.
"You're not alone." you repeat his words from your dream, involuntarily wondering for a moment if you still haunt him in his dreams as well. The look of his dark brown eyes, focusing only on you, is too overwhelming for you to take it much longer. You look away for a moment, then take your gaze back at him, giving him a small smile. "Someone has to undermine those perfect plans of yours from time to time. We don't want your ego to grow so big that it can't be contained in this palace, do we, General?" you ask jokingly and smile as you hear something like an amused snort from him.
He leans towards you and you gasp in surprise. Gently, he brushes the hair behind your ear with his fingertips. You shiver slightly at the small, almost non-existent touch of his skin against yours.
"No… we don't want to." he whispers, staring at you for a few more moments before pulling away and introducing you to the situation.
Darkness surrounds the two of you as you both talk. The only source of light is your little orbs floating above the war table. And for the first time, both of you feel at peace.
Neither of you were alone anymore.
And you both feel in this moment some kind of peace and relief...
At least until a messenger came running in the very dawn with a letter from the colonel of the Second Army…
The Fjerdans attacked.

Heres something I've been thinking about working on for a while now and I'm finally getting to it. Heres the pilot of it, let me know if you guys want me to make it into a full series (which I might do anyways🧍‍♂️)
Here's the link on Ao3 for the series if you prefer to read on there :)
Weird Science | Pilot Chapter
[Egon Spengler x Fem Reader]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Summary; honestly I don't know what I'm gonna do with this, I'll leave the summary to finish later.💀
[Notes; This is a fem reader and it is mentioned quite a bit, this is to make things a little easier to write but I may consider making it a gender neutral reader if enough people want it and ask. [This is also kind of a long one for a pilot chapter.]
[Warnings; Some swearing and mentions of smoking. [Also very very minor mentions of drinking.]
Part 1/? | Next Chapter>
꒷꒦︶꒷꒦︶︶꒷︶︶︶︶꒦꒷꒦︶︶꒷꒦︶︶꒦︶︶︶꒦꒷
"Hey, can you hand me that soldering iron please?" I say, holding my hand out.
"Of course Dr. L/n," Theodore says, handing the iron carefully.
Theodore Thalmann was a freshman student majoring in Computer Engineering at Columbia University, the very University I've worked at for 7 years now.
Theodore came for an internship to work with me, wanting to learn a little more visually than just reading some book, writing down notes, and listening to some old guy talk for hours on end, and frankly you couldn't really blame him for not wanting to deal with that.
Theodore was a sharp kid, not lazy like most of these kids now, and willing to learn rather than just be here for some extra credit, that's what you liked about him so much.
"Do you need anything else Dr. L/n?" Theodore asks, writing a bit more into his notebook.
Just then, a knock at the door interrupted your thoughts.
"Yes actually, can you go get that for me?" You reply, taking the protective glasses off of your face.
You get up out of your chair, taking off your black rubber gloves and placing them in their respective area. You liked things organised in your lab, it was much easier to find exactly what you needed, and it was also that you never liked a mess where there was work.
"Is Dr. L/n in here? I need to have a word with her." A voice you were far too familiar with comes from the door where Theodore was standing.
Oh, this can't be good.
"Yes she is, come on in Mr. Yeager," Theodore says, letting the man inside the lab.
"Ms. L/n, pleasure to see you again.. as always." The man says snarkily.
You turn around and walk towards him.
"Hello, Mr. Yeager. Come to complain about the music volume again? I promise I hadn't played anything today, whatever you might've heard must've been someone else."
"No, actually, I wanted to talk to you about something more serious. Do you think you can get this student to be somewhere else so its a more private conversation?" The Dean says, smiling sarcastically.
Dean Yeager wasn't exactly fond of you, hense the use of your last name rather than Dr. L/n, regardless of how hard you had worked for that title. But to be quite fair, you weren't very fond of him either, so it was more of a mutual hate. There were probably a lot of reasons why he wasn't very big on you, but one of the most obvious had to be the fact that you played your music too loud while you worked. Far.. too loud.
"Of course sir. Um, Mr. Thalmann, would you mind stepping outside for a few moments? Me and Dean Yeager need to speak to eachother in private," You say, turning towards Theodore.
Theodore gives a nod and takes off his pair of gloves, placing them haphazardly on a nearby worktable then stepping outside of the lab, shutting the door.
"So, Ms. L/n, I wanted to inform you that you will no longer be working here at the university, I'm giving you a one month notice so that way you may pack all that you have and get out of here by then, is that understood?" Dean Yeager says, a shit eating grin on his face.
"Excuse me?" You say, after a few moments of silence.
"I said you are out of here in a month, fired, let go of, from the university, Ms. L/n," He repeats, venom laced in his voice.
"But wh-what am I supposed to do about Mr. Thalmann? I can't just tell him-" You stutter, still letting the fact you're being fired sink in.
"We will move him with Professor Dietz, someone that actually has a degree to teach, Ms. L/n". He says, cutting you off.
"But I've worked here for more than five years now, you can't just let me go. I graduated from this very University Mr. Yeager, for what reason do I deserve to be let go?" You say, anger becoming more prominent in your voice as you continue to speak.
"We are letting you go because of the constant loud music, because of the constant loss of electricity on the campus due to your failed experiments, because of your lack of necessity and funding of being here, Ms. L/n. We cannot continue to fund and pay you just for you to cause disruptions and only be useful to students if they are working under you as an intern. Even when you do have them, they only complain about how you do absolutely nothing in ways of teaching them, you are the issue, Ms. L/n."
The students don't think I teach them? But they've never complained.
The thought of the past interns you've had having bad thoughts about you and your ways of teaching them hurt far more then being fired. Sure, you got good pay from the university and your projects were funded, but the students wanting to come in and learn more about what you just so happen to love was the reason why you were still working there in the first place. And sure, you would sometimes blast music while showing and teaching them, but they never complained.
"The students never complain though, I do my absolute best to teach them Mr. Yeager, I don't underst-"
"That is the last of this conversation, Ms. L/n! You will be out of here in one month, and you will get no more students doing internships with you from right now to the day that you are completely gone from this place! Goodbye, Doctor." Dean Yeager says, walking out of the lab, shutting the door.
After a few moments Theodore comes back into the lab, slowly and gently closing the door.
"Ah, Mr. Thalmann, um there's going to be a change in plans for you with this internship unfortunately. I hope you don't mind but you'll be moved to go and work with Professor Dietz starting tomorrow, I do apologise," You say, straightening your back.
Theodore stays quiet for a minute, the air thick with awkwardness.
"What Dean Yeager said about all the other students disliking you and your teaching, I don't agree with him. I like your teaching and don't think its right of Dean Yeager to just fire you on the spot like that, Dr. L/n." Theodore says awkwardly, trying to lighten the mood of the room.
"Thank you, Mr. Thalmann, but unfortunately that still doesn't change my situation about my work here. I truly do appreciate all of your help and willingness to learn more, especially from me for these past couple of weeks. You're a great student and I'll be honest, I envy Professor Dietz for getting to teach you," You say, a slight smile on your face.
"Thank you, Dr. L/n, do you need any help cleaning up?" Theodore asks, taking the rubber gloves from the table and placing them next to yours.
"No, no, there's no need for that at all, you're free to go early today, thank you for the help Mr. Thalmann."
"Alright, thank you again for teaching me Doctor, I hope everything else goes well for you," Theodore puts the lab coat you let him borrow folded up onto a clear table, then leaves the lab.
You sit down in your rolly chair, clearly worn out as it was bought almost 8 years ago in the late 70s. Even with its rips and threads sticking out from it, as well as the black soot stains and worn cushions, it was still comfortable and somewhat soothing. It reminded you of when you first started working here, about a year after you graduated from the university. And now that you think about it it makes you a little upset that for the past 12 years now this university is all you knew.
Sure you had your own apartment and went out for groceries sometimes, but you never had friends that you still kept in touch with, so you never really went to bars or parties. And at this point having an apartment proved useless as most of the time you would fall asleep in your lab, you would eat in the university's cafeteria, and after that you would just get back to work and drown every other sound out with music from the radio or your cassette tapes.
You get up and grab your coat, leaving the lab to go outside.
You pat your pockets and pull out the cigarette tin, hoping you hadn't run out of any, and to your relief you had just two more left. Grabbing one out of the tin and placing it lightly hanging from your mouth, then lighting it and inhaling the smoke.
You make a mental note that you'll have to go to the drugstore and buy some more.
"What the hell am I gonna do now?" You mutter to yourself, taking another drag of your cigarette.
"Y/n? Is that you?"
You turn your head to see an old friend you hadn't been in touch with since you've graduated at this university.
"Ray?"
"It is you! Oh am I glad to see you. Its been, gosh, how many years now? How have you been? What are you doing here?" Ray says excitedly, asking a million questions all at once.
"Its so great to see you too, Ray. I've been okay these past years, and I work here actually." You say, giving a light chuckle.
Well, more so like you worked here.
"You work here?"
"Yeah, I've been working here since after we graduated actually, what are you doing in terms of a job?"
"I work here too actually, I'm surprised I never seen you around here. You remember Venkman and Spengler though?" He says, taking a half used cigarette out of his pocket.
"Yeah, how can I not remember Venkman, the guy constantly harassed and flirted with me until I graduated, kinda annoying. But I don't recall ever speaking to or interacting with Spengler though."
"Well I've actually been working with them two for a couple of years now, we're working on some equipment and studies to see if ghosts and entities are actually real, parapsychology you know. It would kinda make sense for you to not remember Spengler though, he was a quiet isolated sorta guy. Mind lending me your light?" Ray rambles on, gesturing for your lighter.
You hand him the lighter, taking another drag from your cigarette yourself as he lights his.
"That's neat, I honestly can't believe that I hadn't known you were here though, I would've loved to talk to you and hang out more after graduation," You say, grabbing your lighter back from Ray.
"We should go out for drinks sometime! It'd be a great way to catch up with eachother, I could bring the other guys too! Maybe all of us could ask you questions about our equipment. Given that I don't really know how to do it and all but you're the one that got a Doctoral in Computer Engineering and'll know a bit more than me, but mostly just to hang out with eachother again, like old times!" Ray says excitedly, a smile on his face.
"I'd love to go for drinks with you guys, not sure I'll be of any much use now though because I've just gotten fired by Yeager and have to move all my stuff out by a month from now, so studying and doing experiments are not something I'll get to work on for a while now," You chuckle, putting your cigarette out on the palm of your hand.
"Oh thats such a shame, Y/n I'm sorry that happened. It seems like Yeager has got a grudge on you too, huh?" Ray says sympathetically, putting a comforting hand on your shoulder.
"Yeah but honestly, I totally deserved it. Do you remember those series of blackouts throughout the campus that would happen twice a week? Those were all me and it took him 5 years to get sick of it and finally fire my ass,"
You laugh, now feeling a bit better about the loss, mostly because you get to speak with Ray again.
"I heard from some of the other professors that the cause was coming from the engineering and computer science halls, it reminded me of you in a way, and it seems I was right about it!" Ray laughs, letting out a dry cough afterwards.
God, Ray has always had such bad smoking problems. I can't say all that much though because that'd be too hypocritical but that cough is starting to get worse.
You two continue talking a while longer, forgetting how long you've been out there until hearing all the ruckus from the students getting released from their classes.
"I should get going now, Peter and Egon are probably wondering where I went by now. Oh! How can I get in touch with you by the way?" Ray says, turning back around toward you.
"I'm usually over here in my lab but it seems it won't be like that much longer, but here's the number for my home telephone, call me if you need or want to plan anything and if I don't answer leave me a message for my answer box," You say, pulling out a notepad and pen from your pocket, scribbling the number down, ripping out the page and handing it to Ray.
"Thanks Y/n, I'll remember to call you later on! Sorry about the whole getting fired thing, by the way, but I hope we see more of eachother. I'll talk to you later!" Ray says, taking the paper and waving goodbye as he runs off to a different area of the university.
---------------------------------------
Once you were back into the lab, you looked around to see what you should start packing. You didn't have much space at your apartment so you would either probably have to rent out a storage unit or call your parents to see if they could store some of it in their attic at home.
First I need to get boxes, and then a bunch of bubble wrap and foam so none of my equipment or computers break. I'll have to go and buy some from the post office.
You go and grab your keys and head back outside of your lab, locking the door before you leave. Walking to your car, you take your keys and unlock the door of it.
As you sit down and turn the key it stalls, taking a few more tries before it finally starts. I really gotta get a new car or at least get it checked out.
You start to drive to the nearest post office, and due to the horrible New York traffic it took you about 20 minutes to get to it even if it was only half a mile away. But that's what you got yourself into deciding to move to one of the most populated states in the US.
You park, grab your wallet, lock your car, and proceed into the post office.
You see the large amount of people in there, checking their post boxes, mailing out letters, and waiting to get their packages accepted to be sent out.
You walk to the area they have the boxes set up, grabbing a few medium sized ones and proceeding to the shortest line so you can purchase them. Once finally at the front, you place the flattened boxes onto the table.
The man nodded and pulled out a large roll of bubble wrap, placing it on top of the boxes.
"Hello, just these and also, do you guys have the big rolls of bubble wrap?" You say to the man at the desk, who already looked far too tired.
"Is that all, ma'am?"
You nod, taking your wallet out of your coat pocket so that way you have your money ready.
The man punches numbers into his machine, looking at each thing on the desk as he does so.
"That'll be $21.47, ma'am."
You take 22 dollars out of your wallet, handing them to the man as he takes it, placing the bills into the register and grabbing a few coins for your change and handing them and the receipt to you.
You thank the man and take the boxes and bubble wrap with you, struggling slightly at how awkward it was to hold the 10 flat boxes and bubble wrap in your arms.
You open the trunk of your car, putting the boxes and bubble wrap in, just barely fitting to where you can close the trunk door.
God, this is gonna suck.
꒷꒦︶꒷꒦︶︶꒷︶︶︶︶꒦꒷꒦︶︶꒷꒦︶︶꒦︶︶︶꒦꒷
I literally wrote all of this in about 7 maybe 9 hours total because I just thought up something and was like, "oh yeah, this'll be great," and that's at least what I'm hoping now. I want this to kinda be slow burn and I know that's what I always say when I do series, and I never finish them, but I am really hoping I'll be able to do more with this then my other failed attempts at series [if I take longer than a month to get another chapter of this out I want you all to yell at me and tell me to finish it]

when you try to kiss them on their cheek as a distraction | spirit, mastermind, legion (frank).
who needs deception, red herring or diversion as a distraction, what about a smooch instead. — this one's quite shorter than my other drafts that will probably never see the light of the day ever again. just want to put something silly out for my favorite killers <3 was gonna add our golden boys trickster and ghostface but i ran out of ideas :(( i might include them the next time i make a part 2 to this.
content: lowercase intended, partially not proofread, gender neutral reader, ambiguous as to whether or not the reader is dating the killers, spirit — dwight cameo | mastermind — basically ranting how i don't know how to navigate rpd | legion — elodie cameo, frank is a stinky tunneler.
Tumblr media
RIN YAMAOKA | THE SPIRIT
desperate times call for desperate measures. poor dwight is on his death hook and he cannot waste any more time for his team to do their objectives. the vicinity is naked of resources for him to utilize, and you don't have a flashlight in your hands to prevent him from getting picked up.
you didn't really leave much time into brainstorming your next move, as soon after, you've heard a loud scream just near you.
and of course it had to be dwight, if only you weren't so finicky with using pallets in the area, he would've last longer.
dwight and rin are out in the open, which could've been such a free blind, but you've got something else in your mind.
swooping just as rin's had dwight on her shoulder, you jumped and cupped her face, kissing her cheek, all in a rapid second.
rin's confused and stands with dwight on her shoulders. why... would you do that? doesn't know if she should be shocked or just go through with her spree while her cheeks are heating up.
dwight's just as confused as rin, he can't see anything but the dirty ground, what's going on? why is the spirit making confused noises?
you backed up afterwards and tugged your arms together behind your back, reminiscent of a child feigning to be innocent when they are being scolded.
your plan didn't work out as you planned it to be, as rin was recovering from the stunt you pulled. but she was bamboozled enough for dwight to wiggle out, in his merry way to a tile with no resources, again.
mission failed succesfully.
Tumblr media
ALBERT WESKER | THE MASTERMIND
you're fighting for your life not to get on death hook. but lady luck didn't seem to be on your side the very moment all of you were sent to rpd.
not only do some of the corridors & rooms are barely lit, it was extremely difficult to navigate the area. where do these stairs lead to? where do these hallways lead to? why did i just came back from where i've been last time?
attempting to find refuge, you look for the rest of your teammates, but that's the problem, you can't find any of them. although it was an ideal situation for everyone to be split up and doing their own generators, that wasn't really the time for that, you need to survive as much as possible.
when you turn around a corner, you didn't expect wesker to be standing by the edge of the room, as if he knew you'd come by.
wesker chuckles, prepping the tentacle in his hand, "i've got you where i wanted..."
you have no time to take in what just happened and what is about to happen, but you refuse to not get out of your situation.
in pure panic, you shoved your open hands in front of his face, "wait! wait! wait!"
surprisingly enough, wesker is intrigued of your stalling technique, so lowers his tentacles and hears you out.
there's a suffocating tension and silence between the both of you when you just stare at each other. when you've gotten uncomfortable of the current situation you're in, you swiftly press your lips against his cheek and ran as far away as you can. it's not the best last resort manuever one can think of, but it's the only one you can think of during the moment.
wesker touches the cheek that you kissed with his gloved hand, smirking to himself. he intentionally lets you get away with it, giving you a feign hope of surviving. he'll give you time to indulge in your wishful thinking of surviving the trial before he spooks you again.
Tumblr media
FRANK MORRISON | THE LEGION
the only killer you'd genuinely get away with something so silly.
you're trying your best to protect elodie, who has been constantly tunneled the entire game. seeing as there's one generator left, and frank is struggling to pressure the team, he might as well target a survivor and get them out of the trial before the last generator pops.
everyone, including you, is injured, thanks to frank's insane capability of injuring almost everyone swiftly.
you've been sticking with elodie after she got off from her second hook, since you nor the rest of your team has not been hooked yet, you figured you can perform a little risky and even trade hooks with elodie in any case she might be in danger.
but of course, there's little chance that your plan will work. you hear frank approaching while you're patching up elodie in the shack, so you halted the healing and gestured elodie to carefully run away from the shack. "i'll be right behind you", you encouragingly whispered to her.
when you follow right after elodie, the first thing you've noticed was that frank had already seen the both of you, yet still goes for elodie.
you rapidly stood in front of elodie with your arms raised up in attempt to guard her. she can't risk leaving the area lest she gets hit. "w—w—wait! may i interest in something, frank?", you ask the man in front of you.
he brushes off your question for a while, shoving you out of the way. "hm... sure, why not. but i'll deal with her first".
time is ticking. your go to should be to stand face to face with frank yet again, but he can easily shove you aside like previously. suddenly, as if a lightbulb has lit up above you, you attempt to execute a plan that took barely a second to figure put.
elodie runs for her life, seeing as you're too far away to help her. frank was quick to follow, confident enough to get her out of the trial and can finally manage to pressure your team. but frank's brain stops when he feels a hand grab his arm, immediately forcing him to stand still and look at you. unintentionally so, you look like you're pleading him not to kill your team, with your brows furrowed and tears welling up in your eyes, both are the results from the injury he has inflicted on you minutes ago.
frank thinks it's cute but it's not enough for him to take pity on neither you or your friends, if that was the message you were trying to convey.
he was almost out of your grip until you harshly lower his head down by tugging aggressively at his arm, placing a peck in his mask where his cheeks would lay beneath.
shortly after, the both of you look at each other in silence. your brows are still furrowed but your lips are pursed as a straight line. from the inside, frank is exploding with how adorable you look right now. he audibly stutters from embarrassed he is, but luckily it was muffled so you can't decipher what noises he's making.
elodie is long gone in the vicinity, luckily for all of you. but now you have to deal with the problem at hand, how are you going to escape the killer's grasp now? but you suppose you can endure one hook stage, considering elodie was the only one hooked throughout the trial.
you come back to your senses and entirely lose your grip in frank's arm and ran as far away as you possibly can without disturbing your team. you don't know if you're lucky or unlucky that frank hurriedly runs after you, but one thing's for sure, you hope he's after for more kisses.

FLASHBACKS IN ITALICS

Bradley parks his Bronco just next to the Hard Deck before turning off the ignition. He sighs loudly and rests his head on the steering wheel. He closes his eyes and tries to clear his mind, reminding himself why he was here. He clears his throat and turns to his backseat to grab the beach bag he packed up before leaving. He gets out of the car and notices Jake's truck and Natasha's car in the parking lot. He walks up to the beach and can see the dark smoke of the bonfire. He puts a smile on his face and joins his friends. He hugs Natasha who's sadly smiling at him and she softly rubs his back before letting go. He quickly hugs Jake and asks him if he needs any help with the fire.
You try to carry the many logs in your arms, sticking your tongue out in concentration. "You know... You could just ask for help." Jake laughs as he carries his own logs. "I don't need you, Bagman. I've been camping since I was 3, I can carry logs without any help." Jake rolls his eyes and when the two of you reach the others, you can't stop but sigh when you drop the wood in the little pit Rooster dug into the sand. Jake drops his own logs into the pit and taps on your shoulder, laughing. "Just shut up..." You groan.
Bradley just stays sat next to the fire, watching the flames dancing as they wait for the others to arrive. He just listens to the cracklings and he can hear Jake and Natasha having small talks. The sound of loud music pulls him from his thoughts and he raises his head, watching Mickey and Bob chatting in the parking lot. Reuben and Javy join a couple of minutes after that and they all start chatting and drinking. Sometimes one of them sighs and a silence takes over the moment before someone tries to crack a joke. The sun disappears behind the ocean and they're joined by the billions of starts above them, the moon shining bright and reflecting into the calm water. Bradley stays silent a little moment, his gaze fixed on the sand between his toes, before he takes a gimp of his beer and stands up. "I'd like to say something." Everyone turns to him and stops talking, knowing perfectly what was about to be said. "A year ago, we... lived something I never thought living all over again, and the fact I already faced it doesn't help with the pain. I don't know how you're holding up but it's been a very long year for me..." He can feel the tremble in his voice and the tears threatening from spilling and running down his face. But he stays strong, for his friends. "I'm glad we're all here today, Y/N would have appreciated it." He then sits back down and it's all silent again, just the sound he makes drinking his beer being heard. "To Y/N..." Natasha raises her drink and waits for the others to join her. They all raise their drink in turn, all of their voices echoing in the quiet evening.
You pass the doors of the locker room, the head low and deep in your thoughts. You don't even notice Natasha changing into her flight suit. Your just reach for your locker and open it, your gaze still looking into the void. You come back to reality with a start when you feel Nat's hand on your shoulder. "Hey, you're okay?" She asks you with worry painted all over her face. It wasn't you to just walk in a room and say nothing. "Yeah... Why ya asking?" You just turn back to your locker and takes off your shirt, tossing it into the locker. "I've been calling you several times, you didn't react." She zips up her suit and grabs her helmet. "I'm tired, is all."You try to give her a warm smile but she can clearly see it doesn't reach your ears like it usually does when you're smiling. She doesn't want to push you so she simply nods and leaves the room, leaving you alone with your thousands of thoughts. The words of the doctor you saw this morning just repeating in your head. Brain tumor. Too late. Inoperable.
"You guys remember when Y/N got so drunk she asked us to go skinny dip with her?" Bob laughs, looking up at the stars above them. The memory raises laughter among the group and a soft smile appears on Jake's lips. "I actually went with her that night." The confession earns him a few disgusted noises and gags among some mindless insults. That made him laugh. "I didn't go into the water or even got naked. I just looked after her from the beach, watching her having so much fun in the ocean. She was laughing so hard, I thought she would wake up all Fighter Town." He laughs and the others stop insulting him, just listening to Jake's secret memory. He rubs his face and wipes the first tears forming under his eyes. "I actually skinny dipped with her once." Natasha confesses, and a wave a wolf whistles is heard. She almost regrets immediately telling the boys her little secret but she really wanted to share the memory and keep the mood light. "Please tell me you got home together and had a pillow fight in cute Pj's." Jake smirks at her and she throws a handful of sand in his face to make him shut up. The blond pilot grimaces and spits sand before rubbing his tongue and his eyes, groaning. "What kind of porn do you think you live in?" She laughs and she watches her friend trying to spit all the sand in his mouth and she lies down, her head resting on her crossed arms. "It was just before she told us. I guess she wanted to create some memories." The silence comes back as they all know what she means by 'she told us'. Probably one of the worst day of their entire life.
You were waiting for the others to join you at the Hard Deck. Hell, you even asked Maverick to come, he deserved to learn it from you too. You were looking at your feet as you were pacing, Penny glancing at you as she was cleaning some stuff. You hear the door open and Jake's voice shouting. "The Queen has required my presence so here I am!" You smile at his antics and go to hug him tight. He's quite surprised by your display of affection but hugs you back. When you pull away, he ruffles your hair and you grumble. "Hello, Sunshine... So, what's the object of our meeting?" He asks as he sits down on a stool. "Can we... just wait for the others to arrive? I want all of you to be here before I say anything." You look back at the doors, checking if anybody else arrived. "Is everything alright?" He asks, frowning and a bit worried. You don't want to lie to him but you're not ready to tell him yet so you don't say anything and fake a warm smile. "Don't try to get any hint, Bagman." You elbow him gently and his frown is replaced by a kind smirk. "Alright, alright..." He quickly rubs his face before standing up and walking to Penny, asking her for an old fashioned. Jake was always early to everything so it didn't surprise you that he arrived first and the others took their time to join you.
When you made sure everyone was here, the whole place is on edge. Everyone wants to know why you asked them to meet you in the middle of your day off. You're standing in front of them and refuse to look into their eyes. "Okay, hum... I guess this is the moment to tell you something quite important. Since we've been reunited last year for this suicide mission, you've all become the closest thing to what I call a family. And I'll never thank enough fate for putting us all together and for making me meet all of you." You're fidgeting with your bracelet as you keep your head low, shifting your weight from one foot to another. "But I guess every good thing has its end." You chuckle dryly and finally look up, crossing pairs of concerned gazes. "Few weeks ago, I had my medical exam to check if I would be clear to fly this year and they found something. In my brain." You gulp and slightly jump when you hear a glass knock against the wooden bar. You look at Bradley and see his jaw tightening, he already knows what that means, he's been there before. He's looking deeply into your eyes, waiting for the bomb to drop. You take a deep breath and maintain his eye contact. "It's untreatable..."
The silence comes back in the Hard Deck and Penny is the first one to react, walking around the counter and wrapping her arms around you. She's whispering apologies in your ear but your eyes are still on your friends, they're all shocked, they don't know what to say. You blink and Jake stands up, leaving the bar, slamming the door behind him. You can still see him through the windows and he sits down on the steps, burying his face into his hands and you can see his shoulders slightly shake with sobs. You don't blame him. He doesn't really like showing his vulnerability, but you're his weakness. Bob and Natasha wrap their arms around you in turn, promising you they'll be there for you if you need anything. Javy quickly hugs you and kiss your hair before going to check on his best friend outside. Mickey and Reuben hug you in turn and Maverick is the last one to face you. "Captain... It's been an honor..." You try to smile and joke but he simply takes you in his arms and you let yourself close your eyes and breathe deeply, feeling safe in his arms. When he pulls back, you're met with Bradley and he's opening his mouth, trying to find the right words, but he can't. "I'm sorry..." You whisper and he quickly looks away, chuckling dryly. "You shouldn't be apologizing." He takes your hands in his and just traces the lines of your palms with his thumbs. "I'm sorry you have to go through this all over again." You mutter and wrap your arms around his waist, resting your cheek on his chest and listening to his fast heartbeat. "It's not your fault, kiddo... It's not your fault..." He kisses the top of your head and rubs your back.
The seven friends can hear the crickets singing and the waves crashing on the rock a little further. The light mood from earlier disappeared when Natasha mentioned the sad day of your announcement. "Maybe we should skinny dip in her memory..." Mickey wonders with a kind smile, looking around at his friends. "I'm not getting naked with porn-guy over there." Natasha immediately refuses, pointing at Jake. "It was a joke, Phoe'. I wouldn't even want to see you naked..." He mutters the last part. "We don't need to get naked, just in our underwear would be enough to make her happy." Mickey smiles a bit more, already undoing his laces and taking off his shoes and socks. "Come on, guys..." He begs when he sees none of his friends follow him in his idea. "I do it if you do." Bradley looks over at Natasha with a smirk. "Don't get too excited, Bradshaw. We might think you wanna see me naked." She laughs and starts stripping. Mickey grins and sees Reuben, Bob and Javy starting undressing as well. He gives Jake a pointed look and the blonde sighs. "Alright... But don't jump on me as soon as I'm undressed." He unbuckles his belt and Javy whistles jokingly. "We wouldn't dream of it, Bagman." Natasha is quick to shut him up and he simply rolls his eyes with a soft smile. When they're all wearing nothing but their underwear, they stay around the fire, looking at each other with silly faces. "What now? I mean... We've all got killer bodies but I won't stay like that all night long, it's kinda cold." Bradley jokes and a few laughs erupt. "You're scared the cold air might affect your body, Bradshaw?" Jake laughs and is immediately stopped when Bradley growls and starts chasing him.
The two men run on the sand, sometimes almost falling face first and Jake ends up jumping into the cold water. Bradley stops in his track with a grin and watches his friend stands up in the water, a shocked expression painted all over his face. "The water is freezing!" He screams and hurries to get out of the water but Bradley runs to him and tackles him back into the water. The rest of the squad erupts in laughter and they start running to the water to join the two men bickering in the cold water. When the water reaches Natasha's feet, she lets out a scream but doesn't stop in her track and dives right into the ocean. She lets the cold water hug her and wash her of the day's sweat before joining the others at the surface. She rubs her face and brings back her hair, laughing. She notices Jake shivering and his lips starting to turn purple-ish. She chuckles and splashes him right in the face. The blond pilot groans and slashes her back but she uses Bradley as a human shield. Jake laughs loudly at his frenemy's face but his smile quickly falls down when the Bradshaw pushes on his head to push him underwater for a few seconds. Natasha turns to Bob who let his glasses on the beach and now has to squint to see correctly. She splashes him and he screams before splashing back, but he doesn't really see her and ends up splashing Javy. Reuben and Mickey quickly join the water fight and the laughter can be heard from the beach.
They end up staying in the ocean for what seems like an eternity and when they go back to their stuff on the beach, the sun is slowly rising. They're completely drenched to the bones but silly smiles are engraved on their faces as they sit down on the sand. Natasha rests her head on Bob's shoulder who puts back his glasses on his noses. Mickey is lying down on her lap and she mindlessly plays with the short curls starting to grow on his head. "She would have loved this improvised not-so-skinny dipping..." Jake eventually says, his voice raw from all the screaming and all the laughing. Nobody says anything else but everyone agrees with him. For once. Natasha closes her eyes and ends up falling asleep on her WSO's shoulder and Mickey falls himself asleep on her lap. Bradley and Jake fall asleep a bit later too, lying down on the sand, their faces covered by their own shirts. Javy and Reuben share the cover they used to keep them out of the sand as a blanket and fall asleep. Three hours later, when Maverick gets off his bike, he notices several figures on the sand. He frowns and when he steps closer, he recognizes his squad, asleep and half naked on the sand. Confusion is written all over his face until he checks the day and recognizes the date. Yesterday was marking one year after your passing.
You watch them play football on the beach with a big smile on your face. Since Maverick introduced you to the Dog Fight Football, your friends would only play that game when you would go to the beach. You laugh when Mickey is being tackled by Jake and the two men roll on the ground. You take a sip from your drink and readjust your hat on your head. The umbrella over you already providing you shade but your chemo-bald head wasn't something you wanted other people to see. So after a quick discussion with Mickey, he took you hat shopping and you had a lot of fun. He insisted on paying everything and you ended up with almost ten new hats you could match with multiple outfits. No need to specify that you couldn't fly anymore but with a little help from Maverick, you still could come to base and see your friends. Your family. You're brought back to reality when a sweaty, panting Jake drops next to you. You give him a cold beer and he takes a couple of gulps before turning to you. "Want some?" He asks and you give him a pointed look. "Right... You're no fun, I forgot." He turns back to watch the others play and you bite the inside of your cheek, stopping yourself from thanking him for joking about it. He was the one you felt the closest to. You didn't know why or how it happened but it happened. You loved all of them so much but Jake was different, sometimes you could almost feel like you were connected. Just like twins.
"Hey... You're getting red, you need more sunscreen?" He asks as he points to your reddening arms. You nod and he grabs the tube from the beach bag you got and walks around you to stand behind you. He starts rubbing your shoulders with the sunscreen, being careful not to knock your hat off inadvertently. "You know... I'm still up for giving you a last wish..." He says and you turn to look up at him with a smile. He wiggles his eyebrows and you slap his chest before turning back to watch your friends play. Jake leans over to your ear and you can practically hear his smirk. "The others won't know, I promise." He whispers before rubbing your right arm with sunscreen. "Oh my God, stop!" You laugh, making him smile widely. "I'd rather give my last wish to Rooster." You say jokingly just to mess with him. "You wouldn't!" He moves to your left arm and when it's all done, he sits down on his heels before you. "But seriously, if you want anything before you..." He starts saying and stops himself, not fully on term with what was to happen. "You just ask, and I'll do anything to make it happen. And I'm sure the others would do the same." He keeps your hand in his and you look down and your joined hands, containing the tears. You look back up at him and take a deep breath. "I don't want anything more, Jake... I already have all I need." You smile at him and then look over at the others cheering Bob for tackling Mickey. You chuckle and Jake smiles, his stare never leaving your joyful face. That's exactly how he wants to remember you, smiling and laughing.
He stands up and dramatically bows. "My Queen..." He smiles at you and runs back to the others, catching the football Natasha just threw and running away from Bradley who's already on his tail. You smile and grab your phone, taking a picture of them playing. You smile at your phone and go to your camera roll. You open the file you named 'memories' and quickly scroll through all the pictures you took of the squad. You used to take a lot of pictures even before you learned about the tumor but you started photographing and recording everything after the doctor told you your days were numbered. You scroll down until you reach the bottom of the file and click on the first picture. It's a photo Maverick took the day you told them the truth. You could see Jake's red eyes but he was smiling for the picture, for you. You were between him and Natasha and the others were aligned, smiling at the camera. You slide left and you smile even more. This one was taken just seconds after the first one, unless you weren't all aligned correctly and looking at the camera. You were wholeheartedly laughing, head thrown back as your friends all squished you in a group hug. You lock your phone and look up at the game in front of you. You wouldn't dream of anything better than this. You grab your drink and take a sip, never looking away from your friends.

Playing With Fire (M)
Tumblr media
Word count: 1.8k
Pairing: Johnny x Original female character
Genre: Office AU, some angst, light smut
Warnings: Mentions of alcohol, Johnny is a bully, heavy sexual themes, non-explicit smut (don't hookup with your coworkers!), uh semi-public sex
A/N: Uhhh I don't know what this is, but it's pretty much self-indulgent lmao
There was nothing quite like early winter in the city, with the twinkling lights tangled in the bare trees and a to-go coffee that was almost too hot. This early in the morning, there was no one around. It was calming, and Nari wanted to appreciate the silence before all hell broke loose. She sat on the unoccupied bench outside of her building, savoring the last five minutes she had until she had to face her worst nightmare. That nightmare happened to have a name: Johnny.
Johnny Suh from Sales. Even thinking about him made Nari’s eye twitch. Ever since she was forced to work with him on her latest project, he made it his sole mission to make her life a living hell. Never once in Nari’s career has she had to work with someone so egotistical, cunning, and above all else: annoyingly attractive.
Although she had been working at her company for the last two years, she had never heard of him. Not until she saw an unfamiliar name CC’d on an email from her boss. Confused, she made her way to her boss’s office.
“He's been here almost as long as you have, I believe,” her boss told her. “Great guy, it should be a breeze working with him.”
It was hilarious how wrong he was. Nari’s reality was most definitely not a breeze, but more like a hurricane. Whatever higher being set this up was surely laughing at her now as she struggled against the powerful storm.
To stand any chance, Nari knew she needed any advice she could get. And who else was more equipped than Jaehyun? After years of working at law firms across the city, Nari was sure he was the only person who could understand how to deal with egotistical monsters.
“I'm just saying, maybe try to avoid any interactions with the guy. I mean he's clearly a prick,” Jaehyun said, then took a sip of his beer.
“Trust me, I've been trying to avoid him but it's impossible when we have to work directly together,” Nari replied.
It was hopeless. Johnny was too smart. Careful not to push it too far, he was only condescending to her face. He made sure his actions spoke for him, though. Like last week when he went out to lunch with their project team, he accidentally forgot to invite her. And just a day ago, she swore he was whispering about her to another coworker in the kitchen. Then he laughed loud enough for Nari to hear, only confirming her suspicions. It was subtle, but enough to make her go insane.
“Don't let him get to you,” Jaehyun offered. “You know he's only doing this because he feels threatened by you.”
Threatened? Why would Johnny be threatened by her? Nothing about her was particularly threatening. Sure, Nari was good at her job but she never did anything that would cause someone to dislike her. And certainly she would never step on anyone just to get a promotion. In her corporate life, Nari made sure to remain honest, social, and professional. Unlike Johnny, who couldn't have a more opposite approach.
“I’ll try,” she replied. “But enough about me. How's it going in your world?”
“Same ol’ bullshit as always,” he chuckled.
They spoke about their jobs for a while longer, laughing at random anecdotes from the week. Nari didn't speak about Johnny again, and shortly the thought of him was washed down along with her Gin and tonic. Somewhere between her first and third drinks, Jaehyun asked her how her dating life had been. It caught her off guard only for a moment as she reached for an answer in her muddled brain. With her thoughts slowed, the best she managed to pull was a horrific yet comical dating story. Jaehyun laughed along with her and shared his own. It was always weird talking about her love life with Jaehyun but it was still nice nonetheless. But she would never get used to it, even though there were no lingering feelings left between them.
Nari came back to her apartment feeling a bit lighter after seeing Jaehyun. While he helped her forget about Johnny momentarily, Nari dreaded tomorrow. It was the day of the company holiday party. Normally Nari looked forward to it every year, but the idea of running into Johnny made her stomach churn. Sure, there were going to be a lot of employees and plus ones but the chance of seeing him wasn't zero.
The next day quickly flew by, with little to no urgent work that needed to get done. Nari always appreciated slow work days, but today she wished the day lasted a bit longer. Because as the moon rose in the sky, she knew could no longer hide.
The rooftop lounge was packed with her coworkers spread out across fancy bar top tables. Nari and a few of her team members claimed a spot close to the bar. While she was promised it would limit any unwanted interactions, the idea of walking up with all eyes on her made her mouth dry.
“I’m gonna get another drink,” Nari shouted on top of the loud music.
Much to her relief, Nari didn't recognize the people she passed on her way to the bar. No Johnny in sight, her shoulders relaxed instantly.
“One Old Fashioned, thanks,” the guy with slicked back hair in front of her ordered. Ugh, what kind of person would order that?
The guy with the slicked back hair turned around, and the moment Nari locked eyes with him she was frozen in place. The worst scenario Nair conjured in her mind was happening right now, in real life.
Johnny looked at her for a second before turning away to talk to his friend. That didn't bother Nari, but the fact that he decided to brush past her like she was invisible set her off.
Chasing after Johnny wasn't how Nari expected to spend her night, but there she was pushing through the crowd. Johnny moved fast, but she was able to catch up in the bathroom hallway.
“Why?” The liquor coursed through her veins, giving her the courage to speak up.
“I don't know what you're talking about,” Johnny deadpanned, as he turned around to look straight through her. It was clear he was avoiding her question, which in turn only made her angrier.
“Don't play dumb, you know what you're doing,” she accused, her voice raising.
“You're going to be a bit more specific than that, sweetheart,” he said, crossing his arms across his chest.
“So you're just going to pretend like you haven't made my life a living hell the last few months?”
“I think that's too harsh,” he answered, his expression softening. That look could've worked on other women, but Nari wasn't going to give in.
“It's the truth, you've hated me ever since that day.”
“When did I say I hated you?”
Jaehyun’s words echoed in her mind. “Admit it, you’re threatened by me.”
Bingo. Her words seemed to strike a nerve with Johnny, because the next thing she knew he grabbed her arm and pulled her into the bathroom. Warning signs went off in her head immediately, but it happened so quickly that she couldn't break away.
“You don't know what you're talking about,” he seethed, taking a step closer to her.
Was he always standing this close? The temperature was rising, and Nari could feel the blood rush into her cheeks.
“I think I do,” Nari breathed, trying to sound confident. But her quivering voice didn't fool him.
His kisses were feverish against her skin he left bites along the curve of her neck. As he made his way down to her collarbone, Nari’s eyebrows scrunched together. With her lips slightly parted in pleasure, Johnny took the opportunity to steal the air from her lungs in one swift motion. His lips were rough and chapped from the cold, but the way they molded to her own left her utterly breathless. When he abruptly bit her lower lip and gazed at her, she knew she was done for. Deep desire pooled in his eyes and her body craved more of the pleasure he brought. Nari knew right then and there that she had no plans of stopping him.
“No, you don't,” he asserted, breaking the kiss for only a second before diving back in.
Her back was flush against the wall now, the cool tile contrasting against the heat of her skin. Johnny held the side of her jaw forcefully, with his other hand tracing the contour of her waistband. Out the window was her moral compass along with her dignity, her judgment clouded with pure desire.
The sensation of his hand dipping lower only added to her bubbling lust. Without warning, he snaked his hand out of her waistband. Nari whined at the loss and Johnny chuckled in amusement.
“Oh?” he mused, his grin never leaving his face. “You don't like that?”
Nari could only shake her head in response, her brain too muddled to think clearly. Satisfied with her frazzled state, Johnny resumed his motions. Her gasps bounced off the bathroom walls as she chased the high, no longer caring who could hear. With each moan that escaped her lips, she began to fall apart. Strands of hair came loose and tears of pleasure pooled. Her release was imminent, but before she could reach the climax Johnny suddenly stopped.
“I'm sorry, did you want more?” he asked, forehead pressed to her own.
Falling from her high, the reality of the situation came back into focus. What the hell was she doing? Not too long ago Nari couldn't even fathom being in the same room as Johnny, let alone letting herself unravel in front of him. It almost sickened her how quickly she folded under his spell. He knew exactly what he was doing and Nari was willingly falling right into his trap.
“Please,” she replied as she tried to catch her breath.
That was all Johnny needed to continue. With her pleasure still heightened, it took Nari only a few minutes to fully come undone. If Johnny wanted, she would let him take her right then and there. All the sirens in her head told her it was wrong, but why did it feel so right?
“See you tomorrow,” he snickered as he pulled away from her. Giving her a quick once over, he left the bathroom without another word.
Left alone with nothing but her reeling thoughts, Nari glanced at her reflection in the mirror. Disheveled hair and smudged mascara. Nari could barely recognize herself. As she attempted to fix her unruly state, Johnny’s words mocked her. Their little affair was going to cost her. She wasn't going to get fired over it, no, but her impulses were going to cost her the little bit of sanity she had left. Johnny was going to take it all and ruin her beyond recognition.

Kan stared in awe as the swirling of hyperspace fell away, revealing the planet below. She had seen it happen a thousand times before, but each time it filled her with the same thrill as it always did, and after all, this might be the last time for a while. She peered down at the planet, swirls of reds, oranges and browns covering it’s surface.
Through the grapevine, Kan had heard about a band of rebels, an organised group of clones, and it had instantly piqued her interest. She had already been working closely with a senator, and had been stationed on Alderaan since the Republic had become the Empire, but she longed to be more involved in the fight, making a real difference. Hence, here she was, descending into the atmosphere of a new planet, to do exactly that.
She placed her water bottle back into the side pouch of her bag, and slung it over her head, adjusting the strap so it was laying comfortably across her chest. She tried to hide her excitement, but the pilot of the ship was secretly grinning to himself at the hurried actions of the woman aboard his ship.
Tumblr media
Echo waited patiently on the landing platform, his hand and scomp arm folded neatly behind his back. He watched on as a ship carefully landed, a hissing steam erupting beneath it as the door opened. A Mirialan woman moved down the steps, and made her way over to him with a spring in her step.
“You must be Echo” She said as she came to a stop in front of him.
“That’s me, you’re Kan?” He confirmed, instantly taking note of the deep scarring across her shoulders.
“Yup” She replied, a lazy smile crossing her lips with a two-fingered salute at her temple, “At your service”
Echo was taken aback by her unabashed friendliness, not entirely sure how to respond. He began walking away from the ship and towards the compound.
“So you’re the technical specialist?” He asked.
“Mhm” Kan hummed, a smile pulling at one side of her lips, “Not very exciting, I know”
“Maybe not” He shrugged, “But it’s still important”
“Let’s hope” She chuckled slightly.
“We don’t really have anyone with your skillset here” Echo said.
“Hopefully that means there’ll be lots for me to do?” Kan said, and Echo turned slightly to see the clear excitement on her face.
“I’m sure there will. We’re growing by the day so with more people will come more work, I assume”
Kan nodded quickly, and they settled into a silence as they made their way inside the compound. There were many clones moving about the building, all of them looking in Kan’s direction. She saw few others like herself, recruits from outside the Grand Army of the Republic, but there were mainly just the identical men. Kan looked at the clone beside her, having taken note of how different he looked from the rest of his brothers.
“I must say, your scomp arm is rather impressive” She told him.
“Oh, um, thank you” He replied, noticeably awkwardly.
“I assume it’s tapped into your neural network based on your head gear, that must be very useful on missions” She said, as if thinking out loud.
“Uh, yeah, it can be” Echo was very clearly uncomfortable all of a sudden and Kan took notice.
“Sorry, did I say som-”
“Don’t worry about it” Echo looked to her quickly with a tight smile. Kan frowned and looked down to the ground, mentally kicking herself for making a poor first impression.
“This is the barracks” Echo said, and she looked up as he opened the door.
Kan peered inside. The room was large, and despite the numerous lamps, quite dark. There were many bunks, neatly lined up against the walls, some of them made up and others with the covers crumpled and half-thrown on the floor.
“You get your pick of the spare bunks, the ones with the blankets folded up are available” Echo said.
“Cool” Kan said simply.
“This way” Echo moved further down the corridor, and Kan followed after him. “That’s the mess, breakfast is at 0700, lunch at 1200 and dinner at 1800” He pointed to a large archway that lead into a brighter room, in which there were large tables lined with benches, and no-one currently occupying the space.
“Got it” Kan replied.
She noted Echo’s distinctly military disposition, carrying himself with a precise confidence and somewhat emotionless expression. The two of them then turned into a hallway, which darkened towards the middle, where there was a door, almost hidden in the shadows.
“This will be your… office, I suppose” Echo stopped at the door and turned to her. Kan nodded in understanding and opened it up.
Inside, there was a desk and a chair in the far corner, along with a computer that clearly needed fixing up. Most obviously though, there was all sorts of junk and spare parts of various denominations scattered about the floor, some of it piling up into what seemed like small mountains.
“Sorry it isn’t more organised, like I said, no one else deals with kind of stuff” Echo spoke.
“It’s perfect” Kan turned to him with a smile, “Is there anything I can be getting on with?”
“Uh… you don’t want to get settled first?” He asked, his plain expression contorting into one of puzzlement.
“Oh, yeah” Kan let out a light laugh, placing her bag down on the floor, “I suppose I can”
“I’ll leave you to it then, like I said, dinner at-”
“1800, I got it, thanks Echo” She smiled at him once more.
“No problem, see you around” He said, turning on his heel and walking back the way they had come.
Kan ventured into the room, pushing the various spare parts out of the way with her feet, making a sort of path through the chaos. She bent down as she got to the computer, turning it to get a better look at the damage to it, sucking a breath through her teeth at the hole that had burned straight through the motherboard. She got to work instantly, searching through the piles in the room and finding a new motherboard, then rewiring and soldering the components back into place. She found the cause of the problem by opening up the cooling system, where the regulator seemed to be completely broken. She huffed. That’s not a part that I’ll just find lying around. Kan ventured back towards the door and pulled her datapad from her bag. 1804, time for dinner.
Kan left her ‘office’, something she was uninclined to call it, in part because of the state it was in, but also because she didn't think of herself as someone who would ever have such a thing. She wasn't nearly organised enough. Kan wound her way back to where Echo had showed her the mess, standing in the doorway feeling moderately overwhelmed.
Echo took a sip from his cup as he noticed her standing there, looking too sheepish to enter. Her olive green skin stood out amongst the clones around her, as well as her head of long black hair, half of it messily tied back from her face.
“Hey, you must be Kan” A blonde clone walked up to her and said with a polite smile.
“Yeah that's me” She smiled back, “Are you Rex?”
“Sure am” He replied, “It's good to finally meet you, why don’t you come and sit with us?”
“Thanks, yeah” Kan chuckled, slightly embarrassed.
The line for food wasn’t too long yet, so the pair of them grabbed their food quickly and sat down, Rex next to Echo and Kan on the other side of the table.
“Hey Echo” She smiled, and he nodded to her in acknowledgement.
“So, how have you been settling in?” Rex asked, taking a bite of his food.
“Um, okay, I suppose. I’ve been working on that old computer, it needs a new regulator for the cooling system really, but I could maybe fix it with some rewiring. I’ll have to then program it myself as well, which will take some time, but I could probably do it within a rotation”
“Wow, so Echo’s put you to work already I see” Rex joked with a small smirk to his brother.
“Oh yeah, really working me to the bone” Kan grinned at Rex and then to Echo briefly, who went to protest before she continued, “I’m kidding, I just wanted to fix it, couldn’t help myself”
“Well that’s a good sentiment if ever I heard one, you’ll be an asset to the team I’m sure” Rex smiled.
“I try” She shrugged, looking down to her food and taking a bite, “So… you guys are like, the head honchos of this operation then”
Rex chuckled, “I suppose so, its a pretty lose command system at the moment, but me and Echo keep them in line” He put an arm around Echo’s shoulders, “Isn’t that right?”
Echo smiled slightly at his brother, “More or less”
“Lucky me then” Kan smiled, as another clone came to join them.
“Who have we here?” They asked, an eyebrow arched and a somewhat cheesy grin plastered across their face.
“I’m Kan, and you?” She held out a hand, and the clone shook it firmly.
“Ah, the new technical lady, the name’s Gregor” He replied, “Is Kan short for anything?”
“Yeah, it is” She said, and took a bite of her food.
“Well go on then, what’s it short for” Gregor asked again.
“Something very long that you can’t pronounce, I’m sure” Kan smirked slightly.
“Alright mystery lady, keep your secrets then” Gregor smirked back and dug into his food.
Kan just chuckled to herself and kept her head down as she ate her food. She listened to the clones around her chatting and joking with each other, and found them to be generally very endearing and funny. She had met her fair share of clones before, so she already knew what they could be like. She finished up her food and stood up to leave, Rex asking where she was off to.
“Back to my room, that computer’s not going to fix itself” She replied, gesturing to the exit with her thumb.
“Alright, we’ll see you later then” He smiled, turning back to his conversation with Gregor.
“See you later” She smiled, and left the mess quickly.
Tumblr media
Kan worked on the regulator until she felt her eyes growing heavy with sleep. She rubbed them and stretched her back, sighing as she was yet to finish working on the cooling system. The parts of it were strewn around her as she sat cross-legged on the floor, and with sleep threatening to overwhelm her, she couldn’t focus on it any longer. She picked herself off of the floor and left the room, her feet dragging her towards the barracks. As she approached the door, she noticed Echo walking towards it as well
“Oh, hey Echo” She smiled at him sleepily.
“Hi” Echo replied flatly with a nod as she followed him inside.
Echo made his way over to his bunk in the far corner and sat down with a heavy sigh. He started unclipping his armour, starting with the gauntlet plates and working his way up his arms, as he watched Kan looking, once again, a bit lost. She looked noticeably tired as she peered around the room, and Echo smiled softly as she yawned and rubbed her eye. She then looked in his direction, and walked over.
”This is your bunk?” She pointed to the one he was sat on.
“Uh, yeah?” He replied.
“Cool” Kan slipped off her boots and placed them underneath the bunk next to Echo's.
“What are you doing?” Echo asked.
“Choosing a bunk” She smiled, unfolding the blanket.
“You had to choose the one next to me?” He said, a little exasperated at her persistent friendliness.
“Is that a problem?” She sat down on her bunk, facing him.
“Not as long as you don’t snore” He said, lying down and facing towards the wall.
Kan laid down on her bed and chuckled, “I can’t say whether I do or don’t, I guess we’ll find out”
Kan yawned, and Echo felt himself wanting to roll his eyes. Everything she did felt ridiculously theatrical to him. She was very cheery, in a way that somehow irritated and interested him at the same time. He then realised that she probably just wanted to feel welcomed to the team, and Echo was one of the few clones she had interacted with.
“So are you…” He rolled over to speak to her but trailed off when he saw that she had already fallen asleep. She was still in her clothes, the blanket thrown off of her, and she was neatly curled up against the pillow. Echo chuckled to himself at how easily she had fallen asleep, and sat up, reaching over and pulling the blanket over her sleeping form. He laid down himself and watched her for a moment. She looked so at peace, as if she had never known any hardship. Echo turned over and shut his eyes, wishing for a sleep so restful.

the splintering: chapter 1 sneak peek
So I've been steadily working on this and I've said in the past - I have to be thoughtful in how I'm writing this before it makes me cry - but here is a chunk of Chapter 1 of The Splintering. Ariel is ten years old, here.
She’s awake.
It takes her a minute or two to realize this. She doesn’t remember falling asleep, doesn’t remember the pull of being sucked into darkness, doesn’t remember the drowsy blanket falling thick over her to take her away. Ariel doesn’t remember any dreams either, but she rarely does, these days.
It takes her a half a second to remember what caused this — the no-longer-sleeping. She scrubs at her eyes and squints as they adjust to the muted dark. The storm outside has quieted, light rain pattering against the windows, but she could hear the roar of the ocean more, now.
Ariel is awake because she heard something.
Yes, that was it. But what —
She heard her name. Yes, she remembers, now. Had it been her father? Ariel forces herself to lift her head and strains, waiting to hear footfalls in the hallway or the door creaking open, but there is silence, besides the drizzle against her windowpane and roar of the waves. It starts to lull her back into sleep, blissfully, until —
“Ariel—”
There it is — quick and sharp and hushed. Her name, coming from her closet.
Her eyes fly open, wide and alert. It couldn’t have been. She must still be dreaming, or on the edge of dreaming, in that place no one could name but they all visited. Her father had said once that without dreams, they’d all go mad.
She strains, listening. Her heartbeat is suddenly louder than the rain and the roar —
“Ariel —”
A breath finishes after her name, this time. A long, dragging inhale that makes Ariel’s blood turn to ice water. She freezes in her bed, half propped up on her elbows, facing away from the closet, since she’d fallen asleep on her stomach, her gaze locked on the wall.
She wonders, for a horrifying second, if it’s him. She’s not allowed to say his name, hasn’t been allowed to even mention his existence since Mum died. She’d tried once — after a nightmare, a real nightmare, not whatever this is — and her father had locked himself in his study for an entire day. She’d knocked and cried and apologized but she’d felt the floor shaking underneath her fingertips and wondered what he could have been doing, wondered if it’d been too loud for him to hear her calling desperately.
Ariel is in the middle of trying to convince herself that something must be wrong with her brain if she’s hearing voices when one long, rattling exhale slithers through the darkness. It's coming from the closet, there's no mistaking it now. Ariel's heart hammers painfully against her ribs as she slowly, carefully rolls over to face the source of the sound.
The closet door is closed. Ariel stares at it, stares so long her eyes start to water because she’s not going to bloody blink, not going to miss a thing if she’s not dreaming — if there’s something calling her name from her closet. The silence is punctuated by Ariel’s ragged breathing and the ocean, and she suddenly wishes she were out there and not in here, safe among the swell and salt and sea.
Ariel's eyes flicker to the door, wondering if she should bolt — scream for her father — but something keeps her frozen in place. She’ll never quite know what it is — maybe a morbid curiosity, a desire to prove to herself that this is just a figment of her imagination — but she swallows hard, her throat dry.
(She wants to call for her father)
She moves slowly, so slowly that the rustle of her sheets and limbs is barely audible. She holds her breath and doesn’t dare to break her line of sight with the closet. There has been no voice for several seconds, and so Ariel starts to count. One, two, three —
Ariel gets all the way to eighty-six and a half when the closet door creaks open, just a sliver.
A strangled gasp escapes her, echoing in the stillness of her bedroom. The door moves, just an inch, but it's enough to send a fresh wave of terror coursing through her veins. Her fingers curl into the sheets, knuckles white, as if it could shield her from whatever was lurking.
She eyes the door to her bedroom. It’s directly next to the closet. If she could launch herself quick enough over the foot of the bed, she could make it to her father’s room, but the closet door is open now, and something tells Ariel that whatever is inside knows exactly what she's thinking.
And then the voice changes. It’s soft and lilting, carrying with it an ache that makes Ariel feel like her chest is going to rupture, like her heart is going to shatter.
“Ariel,” calls Mum — and it’s Mummy. Ariel would know that voice anywhere. She knows it in the cracks in her memory, in the void of her heart, and it’s then that Ariel realizes she’s forgotten what Mum sounded like, until now.
She feels her breath catch in her throat. It turns into a sob, and she’s burying her face in her hands to stifle the tears that come without warning, without mercy. She wants to wake up, she wants to wake up, but she feels a wave of crushing guilt at leaving that voice behind again.
"Come here, darling." The voice is soft, enticing, a siren's song that makes Ariel's heart throb with longing. "I've missed you so much."
Ariel's mind reels. She is torn, she is simply overwhelmed, then. Her hands tremble as she slowly lowers them from her face, her wide eyes fixed on the closet door. The voice — her mother's voice — is like a balm to her aching heart, soothing the raw edges of grief that have never truly healed.
But there's something else, something that makes Ariel's skin crawl, makes the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. A whisper of wrongness that she can't quite place, like a dissonant note in a familiar melody.
"Mummy?" Ariel whispers.
The voice from the closet is like honey, sweet and warm. "Yes, my sweet girl. My perfect girl. It's me."
She wants to believe it, wants it so badly that her chest aches with the force of it. She sits up, leaning on the back of her legs, her hands pressed into the mattress in front of her. A breeze seems to swell up, then, the smell of jasmine and cinnamon — her smell.
The closet cracks open another inch. Ariel leans in closer.
“Mum,” she manages to croak. “Mummy, I miss you.”
“I miss you more.” the voice croons. “Come closer, let me see you.”
Ariel’s breath quickens. Falls into a fast staccato, making her feel dizzy. She knows this can’t be real, it can’t —
“Can — can you come here?” she asks in a small voice. “I’m — frightened.”
The closet door opens wider still, a yawning darkness that seems to swallow the dim light of the bedroom.
"Oh, my sweet girl," the voice sighs, and it's like a caress, a phantom touch that makes Ariel shudder involuntarily. "There is nothing to fear. I’m here now.”
Ariel desperately wants to believe those words, and maybe, deep down, the bowels of her grief, she does. Her feet move of their own accord, swinging over the edge of the bed. The floor is cold against her bare toes, but she barely notices. Her eyes are fixed on the closet, in the darkness that seems to pulse with a life of its own.
"That's it, just a few more steps.” the voice coos, and it’s warm, warm like her. “Come sit beside me. I’ve been so lonely…”
Ariel’s heart is a wild thing, now. This is a wild thing — this dream — and if she wakes up she will be both glad and not. She takes another step, then another. The darkness from the closet seems to reach out, tendrils of shadow curling around her ankles, urging her forward. She feels a tug, gentle but insistent, and before she knows it, she's standing right in front of the closet.
She sits. Waits.
And then the voice hums, almost to itself.
“Now, my girl.” Mum says. “Tell me how I died.”

Omg I have the seventh shipping wonder of all my ships.
It was a quiet evening at the Mystery Shack. The rest of the Pines family had gone out for the evening—Stan and Dipper on a road trip, leaving Mabel and Ford alone together. The fire crackled softly in the hearth, casting a warm glow across the room. Ford was at his desk, scribbling in one of his journals, while Mabel lounged on the couch, knitting a new sweater. The silence between them was comfortable, but unspoken emotions simmered beneath the surface.
Mabel glanced over at Ford, watching him in the dim light. He looked deep in thought, his brow furrowed in concentration as his pen moved quickly across the page. She admired the way his mind worked, how passionate he was about his research and discoveries. Over time, Mabel had grown to appreciate not just his intellect, but his gentle presence, his subtle kindness, and the way he treated her with a respect that made her feel more than just the fun-loving, goofy girl everyone saw.
"Whatcha working on, Grunkle Ford?" she asked, breaking the silence. Her voice was light, but her heart beat a little faster as she spoke. Ford looked up, smiling at her nickname for him, though lately it felt... off, somehow. "Just a few notes on some new anomalies I've been tracking. Nothing too exciting." He set the pen down and leaned back in his chair, watching her in return. "And you? Another masterpiece in the making?"
Mabel grinned, holding up the half-finished sweater. "You bet! It's going to have sparkly unicorns and rainbows. You know, the usual."
Ford chuckled, his gaze lingering on her a little longer than usual. "That's one thing I admire about you, Mabel—you never lose your creativity or your sense of wonder."
Her cheeks flushed slightly at the compliment. She'd always been close to Ford, but recently, she’d noticed something changing between them. She felt drawn to him in ways she didn’t fully understand, ways that confused and excited her. It wasn’t just the familial bond anymore—there was something deeper, something she couldn’t quite put into words.
Mabel hesitated for a moment before speaking again. "Ford... do you ever feel like..." She trailed off, unsure how to finish the sentence. She fiddled with the yarn in her hands, her eyes downcast. Ford’s brow furrowed slightly, sensing the shift in her tone. "Feel like what?" he prompted gently.Mabel took a deep breath and looked up, her eyes meeting his. "Like... maybe things are different between us now? Like we’re not just... great uncle and great niece anymore?"
Ford’s heart skipped a beat at her words. He had noticed it too—the way their interactions had changed over the past few months. At first, he chalked it up to Mabel maturing, becoming more thoughtful and reflective. But now, hearing her say it out loud, he couldn’t deny the truth of it. There was something more between them, something neither of them had expected.
"I’ve... thought about that," Ford admitted, his voice quiet but steady. "I wasn’t sure if it was just me, but... yes. Things do feel different."
Mabel’s heart raced as she heard the confirmation in his voice. She set her knitting aside and stood up, moving to sit on the arm of his chair, close enough that she could feel the warmth of him next to her. "I don’t know when it happened, Ford. But I don’t just see you as my Grunkle anymore. You’re more than that to me now."
Ford reached up, his hand gently brushing against her arm. He wasn’t sure what to say, how to put into words the complicated emotions swirling inside him. "Mabel, you’ve always been important to me. More than I can express. But this... what we’re feeling... it’s unexpected."
"I know," Mabel whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "But I don’t think it’s wrong. Do you?"
Ford paused, considering her question carefully. He had always been a man of logic and reason, but in this moment, all of that seemed to fade away. What mattered was how he felt, how they both felt. "No, I don’t think it’s wrong," he finally said, his voice soft but resolute.
Mabel smiled, her heart swelling with a mix of relief and excitement. She leaned in closer, her face inches from his. "I... I think I love you, Ford. Not just as my Grunkle. As... more."
Ford’s breath caught in his throat. He had spent most of his life distancing himself from others, focused on his research, never allowing himself to form deep connections. But Mabel had broken through all of that. She had made him feel alive in ways he hadn’t felt in years.
"I think I love you too, Mabel," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
Without another word, Mabel closed the gap between them, her lips brushing against his in a tentative, tender kiss. Ford hesitated for only a moment before responding, his hand gently cupping her cheek as he kissed her back. It was a quiet, gentle moment—one filled with the unspoken realization that everything had changed between them.
When they finally pulled away, Mabel rested her forehead against his, her eyes fluttering open to meet his gaze. "I’m glad we’re alone tonight," she said softly, her voice full of affection.
Ford smiled, his heart full in a way it hadn’t been in a long time. "So am I."

The Best Friend Chronicles
Chapter 1 : You're Getting On My Nerves, Hargrove
Pairing : Billy Hargrove x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings : Swearing
Word Count : 2, 282
A/N : The life in which Billy finds his family in his best friend.
He was loud in the hallways but in the classroom, he was surprisingly quiet, charming nonetheless. He plopped down beside you, the chair slightly creaking at the sudden weight being added to it. His book bag had nothing in it besides a few sheets of notebook paper, his cigarettes and a pen or two.
"Hey," he gruffly said. You looked up from the math sheet, hey flicking to his before you looked back at the math problems. He kicked your chair as you looked at him once more, glaring at him. "What?" He snickered, moving his chair slightly closer to yours.
"I'm Billy." You rolled your eyes, "I know who you are." He smiled, pearly whites being uncovered and on full display at you. "Yeah," he asked cockily before he came to a realization. "You're Carol's friend aren't you?" You shrugged, "Wouldn't exactly say I'm her friend, more like someone she talks to when she's bored." He nodded.
You told him your name, flashing him a smile before getting back to your work. "What's fun around here?" You rolled your eyes, trying so hard to do your work because you needed to pass the class or else you'd be held back from graduating in May.
"Nothing." He laughed beside you as he stripped off his denim jacket, hanging it on the back of his chair. "So, are you a senior too?" You nodded, scribbling out the math work that you had done after coming up with the wrong answer. He kept asking you questions before you finally snapped. "You're getting on my nerves, Hargrove."
You swore he giggled, seeing you annoyed before apologizing but there was no real sentiment behind it. You did your work in silence, gripping the pencil tightly as you did the work wrong again. A finger tapped your shoulder and you looked over, knowing exactly who had tapped you.
"Need help?" You looked at him. "You can do math, Cali?" He laughed and nodded, moving closer to you, his arm pressed to yours as he showed you how to do the math problems on the sheet, showing you different ways when you didn't quite understand the strategy that he had used. Class ended and you thanked him as you packed up your backpack.
"Are you coming to Tina's party?" You nodded as you tossed your binder into your backpack. "Are you?" He nodded, "First party here." You hummed, "Honestly, they're all the same. Drinking, drugs, sex, feels like deja-vu each time I step into that house." Billy nodded, "Just my crowd then." You laughed, shaking your head as you put your backpack on, giving him a farewell before going about your day.
Sixth period came as you looked down at your book, trying to catch up, hoping that there wouldn't be a pop quiz over it. You smelt his cologne and groaned causing Billy to laugh at you. "What? Don't enjoy my presence?" You scoffed, "Hell no." He laughed, plopping down and sweeping his hair back. "Nice perm." He looked at you quickly. "Shut the hell up." You laughed. "What? Offended?" He rolled his eyes, "No because it's not a perm."
You hummed, giggling to yourself, knowing you pushed his buttons just like he had done to you earlier in the day. "You said that shit on purpose huh?" You smiled, "Uh huh, payback for Mister Questions Questions Questions back there in math." He laughed, shaking his head. "Sue me for wanting to get to know the pretty girl next to me." You grimaced.
"No thank you, I'm not letting you into my pants, Hargrove. I've heard the stories." He scoffed, "I never said I wanted to fuck you. Damn." You rolled your eyes, picking your book back up. "So uh, what stories have you heard?" He sounded self-conscious, you wanted to joke about him so badly, you felt comfortable doing it, like you knew he wouldn't bite back.
"That you're diseased." His eyes quickly snapped you to you, worry in them. "Are you serious?" You laughed and shook your head. "No, just messing with you. I try to disregard the stories. But, no complaints from them so far." He laughed, wiping a faux bead of sweat from his brow. "Good, I was about to pack up and move again." You laughed, shaking your head.
"It's colder than a bitch in here." You nodded. "She's old, she needs it to be cold for her bones to work, the cold keeps her from rotting away." Billy laughed, near cackling as he threw his head back and you laughed with him. The teacher walked in. "You were right," he whispered to you and you laughed. "I know." You listened to the lesson, or trying to at least with the way you were shivering in your plastic chair. "Cold?" You nodded and Billy unbuttoned the button on his book bag, grabbing the brown leather jacket and offering it to you.
"You're cool, I think we could be friends." You hummed, taking the jacket from him, quietly thanking him as you shimmied into the slightly cold material. "No benefits, swear Hargrove, I will cut your dick off if you try to make a move on me." He put his hands up. "Solemnly swear or whatever the boy scouts say." You quietly laughed, his cologne surrounding you and invading your senses.
You slumped slightly so you were comfortable as Ms. Evans droned on and on about her rotting cat and Billy snickered beside you. "They're both rotting." You laughed, covering your mouth as your shoulders shook and he laughed with you, not trying to be quiet like you were. "Mister Hargrove, is something funny?" He looked up and shook his head, "No ma'am," he said, flashing her a pearly smile, a few girls around you giggling to themselves, undressing him with their eyes.
Class came and went before the last bell rung out. You quickly got up, throwing your things into your backpack before shrugging off the leather jacket, handing it back to it's rightful owner as you thanked him once more. "So, party tonight?" You nodded, "I'll be there, probably be late but I'll be there." He nodded, giving you a farewell before walking out of the classroom.
Hours passed as you put your outfit together, a groupie considering the invite said to show up in a costume. You drove yourself to the party, opting out on riding with Tommy and Carol, not wanting to see them exchange saliva at every stop sign and red light. Billy's Camaro was at the front of the house like he had been there for hours.
You parked as close as you could and passed through the swaying bodies in the yard as people threw up, trying to make room in their system for more alcohol, people passed around joints and cigarettes. You walked into the house, moving through the sea of sweaty bodies until you got outside to see Tommy, Carol and Billy at the kegs as other people took their turns.
Billy saw you, small smile on his face as he stuck two fingers up and curled them as he beckoned you over. You walked over, making sure not to step in any vomit as you made it to the group. Billy held out his pack of cigarettes to you and you shook your head. "She doesn't smoke," Carol said snootily as she took one from Billy's pack, his face screwing up at the action.
"You don't?" You shook your head, "Not nicotine, gives me a headache." He nodded, lighting his cigarette and taking a pull from it before releasing the smoke through his nose, scrunching it afterwards. "You do kegs?" You nodded before looking at your outfit, "Probably not tonight though, my boobs will fall out." He laughed and nodded.
You and Carol watched as Tommy lifted Billy's legs up, struggling slightly before adjusting his grip as Billy fixed his hands on the keg. As soon as he began, people began counting, beer dribbled out of his mouth, his hair got into his face. Carol looked at you as you crossed your arms, watching your newfound friend. "Oh my God. Are you guys fucking?" You shook your head, eyes still on Billy as he spit the alcohol out as soon as his feet were back on the ground and Tommy patted his shoulder.
You knew how Tommy and Carol were, they picked the most popular person to befriend and left them when they got the same amount of popularity. You followed Carol into the house before everyone separated and you sought out Billy, finding him in the kitchen with a red cup in his hand as he leaned against the counter.
He looked at you, wiggling his fingers as you joined him. "Carol thinks we're fucking." He laughed, shaking his head. "Tommy thinks the same. Do you fuck all of your friends?" You scoffed and he put his drink out to you and you hesitantly took it. "It's just beer, nothing else. Made it myself." You nodded and took a few sips before handing it back to him.
"What're you supposed to be?" You looked up at him, "A groupie." He hummed and nodded, "I can see it." You nodded and looked at his outfit. "What're you supposed to be?" He laughed, "The Terminator." You hummed, "Haven't seen it yet." He hummed, "I'll have to take you to see it." You smiled and nodded, "Okay." He downed about four more cups, staggering slightly.
"Billy. Hey, can I have your keys?" He shook his head, cheeks pink. "No, 'm driving," he slurred, grabbing onto the marble counter behind the two of you. "Billy, please, let me have your keys." He shook his head once more. "Okay, can I drive you home in my car?" He shook his head, curls gently slapping him in his face. "Don't wanna go home." His walls were crumbling around you and it scared him.
"Okay. Wanna come to my house? My parents won't tell." He nodded, giving you his car keys. "Don't wreck my car," he slurred quickly. You nodded and helped him navigate through the crowd of people as they bumped into the two of you and you both grumbled. You quickly noticed that your attitudes were one in the same. You grabbed his wrist and he quickly yanked it from you, his blue eyes were hazed over with fear.
"Billy, hey, sorry, I didn't mean to grab you." He shook his head. "It's okay, sorry, you spooked me." You nodded and he held your hand, letting you continue to lead him out of the house to his car and he got into the passenger seat, slamming his own car door and he winced. You made sure you grabbed your belongings from your car and you locked it before getting into the driver's seat.
Even in his drunken state, Billy could sense your nervousness. "She's easy to handle." You nodded and looked at him, "Seatbelt." He grumbled and put his seatbelt on as you started the car, putting it into gear before driving out of the driveway of Tina's house. The roads were dark as you slowly drove to your house. Billy was quiet, picking his nails and you glanced at him, "Everything okay?" He nodded as he looked out of his window.
You slowly pulled into your driveway and you grabbed your car keys as you unlocked your door, your mother still awake as she sat on the couch. "Have fun?" You smiled and nodded and Billy staggered in behind you and you shut the door. "I'll explain in the morning." She laughed and nodded and you led Billy to your room. He took his leather jacket off, dropping it to the floor. "Can I have my keys back?"
You handed him his keys and he put them down on your dresser. "Um, I don't have any clothes that will fit you. Sorry." He shook his head, waving you off. You walked into your bathroom to change into comfortable clothes and when you walked out, Billy was in his boxers. "Do you have a hair tie?" You nodded and found one and handed it to him as he tied his hair up. You got your bed ready and laid down as Billy awkwardly stood in his black boxers. "You can lay down, no crossing this line," you said as you made a line with your hand.
He nodded and laid down and hummed. "It's soft." You laughed and nodded. He turned to you, his eyes glassy from the alcohol. "Thank you." You smiled, "We're friends now, that's what friends do for each other." He nodded and rolled over to look at you. "Carol's a bitch to you." You shrugged, "That's okay, everyone is like that." He hummed and continued talking to you as he waved his hands as he talked excitedly about his home in California.
Soon, he had talked himself to sleep and you turned off the bedside lamp, rolling over and away from him as you closed your eyes, trying to fall asleep as he snored behind you. You wanted to hit him with a pillow to make him be quiet but he seemed relaxed and at ease beside you. You wondered why he didn't want to go home and why he was so quick to move away from your touch. You decided you'd ask him one day, not tomorrow, it was too early to ask about something personal like that.
Billy's snores turned into soft breaths, lulling you to sleep and sometime throughout the night, he moved so he was behind you, not pressed against you with an arm wrapped around your abdomen protectively.

A/N - SORRY OMG FOR TAKING SO LONG BUT HERE U GO!!!
Sad and lonely, the poor girl watches as the entire school gets ready for the upcoming Valentines day. She had heard from one of her closest friends, Andromeda, that this year Hogwarts would have more preparation for the loved holiday.
"I'm surprised you're not with James, you still like him don't you?" Andromeda questions her, taking a bite of her biscuit after. She stares at the girl in front of her, waiting for an answer with raised eyebrows.
The girl sighs and looks back into her tea, trying to formulate a response for her friend. "I don't know Andy, I think he likes Lily Evans. They've been talking a lot this past month. He might as well ask her to be his Valentine!" She pouts, complaining.
Andromeda considers the weight of her words for a mere second, "Well, I've heard that the Rosier, Evan was his name wasn't it? Yes him, he's been glancing at you quite often in the hallways! Why don't you see if you like him?" She turns to look at the girl, waiting for a response.
She however, smiles before responding, "Perhaps. He's been nice to me so I don't see why not? Maybe he'll take my mind off the boy I've liked for almost 4 years." She says. The two girls stand up to put their trash away as they exit the Three Broomsticks.
. . .
I freeze. I was truly stupid to come to the Three Broomsticks without expecting a couple. But, I didn't know that I'd be faced with James Potter accompanied with an annoyed looking Lily Evans. Andy looks at me staring the two down. She grabs my arm and we quickly make our way back into the campus.
"Stay unaffected." She tells me when we walk through the hallways to the library. I smiled at her, entering the library.
My face morphs into one of surprise as I find a now awake Evan Rosier staring back at me, smirking while sitting in one of the many chairs that we have.
My luck just keeps getting better, doesn't it?
Andy smirks, "Well, go to him!" She whispers to me, pushing me towards the man. My face is still stuck in the surprise I had when I first saw him.
"What a pleasure, lovely to see you darling." He says in a nonchalant way, still smirking at my smitten face. I quickly regain myself, patting my hair down.
I stare at him nervously, flashing him one of my smiles. "Can I sit here?" I say, pointing to the seat next to him.
. . .
Evan and I had been getting along for the most part, we had shared mostly similar interests. Currently we were talking about Slughorn’s new project in Potions. “That’s amazing! How long did it take for you to finish the brew?” I asked him. He thinks, trying to remember.
“Erm, I don’t think it took much time! I mean, I did also have Snape as my partner..” He finishes off with a chuckle, adjusting to face me in his chair.
I smile softly at him. “Of course, Snape’s amazing at Potions! I’ve never seen him not make a potion perfectly. Need to ask him his secrets!” I laugh along with him.
Soon, a comfortable silence falls over us as I turn to my homework for Slughorn, writing “The Draught of Living Death” in underlined letters. I continue to finish up my essay and go over it with Rosier, who doesn’t hesitate to help me. We both peacefully look over each other’s essays and homework. Suddenly, we are interrupted by a loud slam against the outside of the library door. I furrowed my eyebrows as I then saw Sirius, Remus, James and Peter emerge through the library’s old wooden doors.
I smile brightly as I look towards them. They however, fail to return my advances as they look confusedly between me and Evan Rosier. “Hello you guys! Come sit with us.” I scan all of them with a smile, faltering my movements when I see James.
“Hey, can I talk to you in private for a second?” The brunette I was staring at asks me, I nod wordlessly as he pulls me out the library.
