I had done this a while ago and was technically my 3rd attempt at a 3D model of him and wasn't quite finished, but I should share anyway. This time I tried a bit more with having some model refs of him on the side, but also just kind of had him how I draw him.

It's very good to have for perspective angles at least, but I am pretty proud of it anyway~ This was my 2nd attempt at something in ZBrush Core Mini, which is pretty similar to Sculptris, but not quite. Another learning curve but better in some ways. It at least doesn't crash all the time lol

Kaicon Melbourne 2024 part 2: electric boogaloo is a wrap!

And Holy Shit. What a good event. I was randomly paired with the absolutely lovely liannnarts_jg and it was a real contrast having my menagerie of horror, and her lovely vtuber idol prints next to each other but it was a really fun weekend and we had a bit of a laugh switching our table mascots on day 2!

The SCP fandom absolutely carried me and for that I am forever thankful. I met so many lovely people, got to chat with some incredible artists and overall I'm so tired but my heart is so full.

Had a customer tell me they'd seen people walking around the con wearing my lanyards and keycards and I got really emotional.

I have so many cool ideas for new merch based on live feedback from people and I am so fucking pumped to produce more stuff for February next year! Kaicon Melb 2025 here we fucking go!!!!

in retrospect I guess I should have read between the lines but months ago one of our friends was like 'hey guys the school where I work just got a 3d printer, so if you have any heroforge stl files and send them to me we can try printing them :)'

and I, having never bought an stl file from heroforge (I don't have any use for them) and also having seen how Normal 3d printers handle heroforge minis (very badly), privately went Oh well that's pretty cool but I'm not... interested in that, since it's Not Gonna Work and trying just to see for sure would cost me eight dollars instead of nothing

this month heroforge has been doing a huge anniversary sale, and at the top of the month he'd mentioned again that If We Wanted To Do That, now would probably be a good time! :) because stl files are only 4$ right now! :) and I still didn't... do that, because I don't really want them, and I also frankly don't want to feel guiltily obligated to use chunky bad minis when we play

anyway today he was like 'hey guys that sale is ending pretty soon, so if you guys each wanna send me a mini I will buy them and work on printing them, or if you buy it yourself I can paypal you the 4$' like OOHHH, dude! you should have just SAID you wanted it for you, I would have done it WAY sooner!!!

I just realized my follower count is low, so even if I share this I shouldn't have to worry too much about the fandom seeing it till the end result!

So, anyways, making Mint Moon, and it took weeks (work/life delays and design adjustments) just to get the hands while working on other parts. Back to making ball joints.

If you're asking yourself why the hands are so big, the people in the poll decided he should be 8 ft tall without Sunrays. Could've been 7ish, he will be 8ft.

Arc Sys needs to STOP depriving the Jack-O fans of their merch needs. They keep making keychains and plushies of her ball 'n chain but neglect her cute SERVANTS? this will not stand. I need all three of those silly little things made REAL!

Tbh I'm amazed they haven't done at least one plush of her minions yet because they're so perfectly plushie shaped...

There's a statue coming out of her soon, actually, but it's of her crouch pose :/

my problem with having to have dnd minis is while i think minis are soooo cute and fun, i have Very Specific Ideas of what my characters look like and when i can't get a mini that matches that very specific idea, i get annoyed

UPDATE ON THE WARLOCK STAFF (PART 2.5)

I was meant to do the "rainbow" fabric but I got stumped when I remembered that I didn't had any fabric to do that. Specifically thin ribbon-like cloth that would be wrapped around the staff, below the crystal.

To solve that, I decided to do some online shopping on Etsy to get the things I needed.

This is ribbon I ended up buying for the "rainbow fabric". (I'm gonna paint it with the fabric paint I already have.)

I got red LED lights for the crystal. (I haven't decided on how I'm gonna do the crystal. 3D printing is not my thing but I have been thinking of just doing moldable plastic? Maybe???? I might need some help on what to do to make my own crystal that looks like that.)

Then lastly (and for fun) I got the last of this type of yarn for the base of the crystal. So that way there's visual texture to make it look really cool.

Final coat of primer done !!!

It's not perfect, but I think this'll do with the final color and scars I'll add to hide some problems... 😅

I left the headcap pretty much "as printed" because 1. Hair will hide it and 2. This will let me remember where I started and how I got this final result... so much sanding ! I also skipped sanding too much in some joints (both because hard access and makes more friction), you can kinda see it in the shoulder on the top picture.

Now I need to acquire some airbrush appropriate skin-tone paint, and my boy will be much closer to the final result ~ ☆

ykw, i just realized i never posted these here! so i'm fixing that!

i got into 3D printing last weekend and wanted my first full print to be a digivice model i got from thingiverse (retooled digivice by boardernerd / thing:2695824)

i'm making more with the variety of filament i have, and eventually i'm hoping to also learn how to make my own models heheh
