¿Como se conocieron y posteriormente enamoraron tu Yellow Cat y tu Leshy de Swap au y en el normal?
I used a Translator and I'm assuming you're asking about how Leshy and Theon met in both my Swap and Main AU
For my Swap AU, I'm still not 100% sure. I'm also gonna mention some stuff that I previously mentioned: Leshy was a follower of the Bishop of Chaos and helped hunting down the Cats. One day he gets split up from the other cultists, causing him to get lost in the Darkwoods. While being lost, he meets Theon who is lost as well. They're hiding their face under a robe, so Leshy doesn't realize they're a Cat.
Trying to navigate your way through the Bishops Biomes is hard and dangerous without a Blessed Map, so it takes a lot of time to get back without one. They start bonding while trying to survive and find their way back to civilization. As soon as Leshy finds out they're a Cat, he gets conflicting feelings, because his whole life he was taught to do just as the Bishops say, but he doesn't want to kill Theon after they got along so well and he pretty much wouldn't have survived without them.
For my main AU it's very similar to the Kitchen Nightmare Animation and I also tied it together with an old comic I made where Leshy meets one of his Ex-Disciples:
Theon saw Leshy getting mocked by one of his still alive Ex-Disciples. They aren't sure what happened previously, but they try to reassure and cheer him up with a Camellia.
At that time, they didn't know that Leshy was the God of Chaos, afterall they were born years after his defeat. Theon hangs out with him for a while, wanting him to feel welcome as well as enjoying his crazy side. Since there's still followers who remember the Bishops (either because they have been resurrected or they wear skull necklaces) Theon does eventually find out who he is. It makes them become awkward around Leshy and they start avoiding him. Not sure how to continue it from here, but in the "Future of the new Faith" arc, they start hanging out again :>

i'm so so obsessed with the winter in hawkins series!! i love a loser!steve and the kids pushing the steve x reader agenda
LITERALLY ME TOO! i am so glad u like it. truly nothing and no one compares to poor babygirl loser!steve. and now because i’m crazy, i came up with a billion headcanons for winter in hawkins au.
robin was obviously definitely the first one to notice babygirls longing glances (does that make robin olaf or sven in this situation…)
of course, steve was catching strays from dustin long before but it was all conjecture for like the first month
once robin pinpointed steve’s desperation and utter infatuation with you, she was hooked and intent on finding dumb excuses for the two of you to be alone
aka robin is the WORST instigator and only encourages loser!steve
yes, she thoroughly clowns on him, but her heart says steve x reader ftw
the rest of the kids find out because dustin will. not. shut. up! about it
again, thanks to auntie robin only fanning the flames
(they came up with a group name for their shenanigans: the secret society consisting of everyone who thinks steve is her prince charming OR the prince charming project for short)
(dustin uses the full name every time)
(the main points at meetings include planning your wedding, drawing your future children, and anything anti-brad)
speaking of brad, steve still remembers exactly where he was when you told him you got a new boyfriend
he cried in his car after work that day
robin was in the passenger seat
she cried, too
that was really what spurred loser!steve on
before that, steve was minding his own hopeless romantic business, but the introduction of brad put emphasis on the ‘hopeless’ aspect
honestly, steve’s just glad he still gets to see you every weekend for game night
brad is not invited to game night
you don’t think he’d come even if he was
steve hates brad
regardless of br*d, steve is not shy about complimenting you on anything and everything
sure, it makes him a little blushy thinking about how you’ll react
with that dazzling smile he adores
and yeah, theres a tiny wobble in his voice when he gets your attention
but you don’t seem to notice
and if you do, you don’t seem care
(you always notice, and you think it’s sweet)
“i like your hair like that”
“really? thanks, stevie!”
oh he melts
whenever you compliment him back, he takes diligent notes
one time he wore the same shirt three times in one week just because you mentioned how it complimented his eyes
he also got a big head when you told him his sailor outfit makes him look dashing
sometimes the kids write out lists of really good and not at all embarrassing pick up lines
sometimes these lists suspiciously wind up in steve’s glove box or tip jar
one time a list appeared in his wallet
it’s weird that they practically pickpocketed him but it’s weirder that they had access to his wallet and didn’t take the twenty
robin has a secret scrapbook dedicated to you and steve
it has secret pictures (courtesy of el), ticket stubs, cute stickers, and random receipts
if you couldn’t already tell, everyone is very normal about the situation
steve gets to know you so well that you actually start saying things in tandem
he knows your ice cream order, your coffee order, what temperature you like the thermostat, the name of your first pet
he’s never been good at memorization but it feels so easy knowing it’s all attached to you somehow
he will often bring you random little flowers that seem so small in the palm of his hand
it makes him feel very proud when you tuck them behind your ear
even more so when you let him do it for you
one late summer night, steve hosts a sleepover
OR the kids begged and begged him to either ask you on a date or let everyone use his pool for the night and watch a scary movie and stay up really late and eat junk food
so because he’s a loser, steve hosts a sleepover
and his heart flutters when you show up on his dimly lit doorstep with a gaggle of children behind you
they push past the two of you and barrel straight towards the back door
you warn him, saying you’re pretty sure only two of them brought towels
he chuckles and assures you that they do this every time and he already has a stack set out
you laugh in response and he thinks this is what a heart attack feels like
just imagine how he survived the rest of the night basking in your company and the soft moonlight
you sat next to him during the movie and fell asleep on his shoulder and he swears he’s never been so still
and the movie was really scary
steve wishes brad wasn’t such a dick
especially because he’s made you cry now on a handful of different occasions
steve’s flattered that he’s the first one you call, but he’s heartbroken hearing your choked sobs through the receiver
it’s kind of like a routine the way you always apologize for dumping everything on him and the way he tells you he’d do it any time
for you
at this point, he doesn’t care how desperate he makes himself seem
he really cares about you
steve likes you, and brad could spare a couple teeth
but he knows you love brad blahblahblah que sera sera whatever
he should’ve asked you out when he had the chance instead of sulking and pining
robin still has hope three months into the relationship
she knows for a fact steve still has a raging crush on you
those big brown eyes give everything away
and the way he gushes about your phone calls and your cute sweaters
something happens and i’m head over heels
steve has your gift picked out a month before the holiday season
little does he know, you’ve got his picked out, too
“i saw this in a shop window and thought of you…”
“i remember you mentioning that you wanted one…”
they really are just two losers fated to fall in love
sigh
more like this

So when it comes to distance in a fictional setting, is metric king? I wrote some fantasy post-apoc recently where the protagonist measured it in Oranges and Aevums (the latter being their own name), but more generally speaking is it worth it to hash out bespoke measurement systems for fictional cultures, do you think?
Oranges as a measurement unit sounds so funny, and a measurement based in... yourself makes surprising sense, given all the measurements based on body parts. Why not YOURSELF?
Well, I would think in a real post-apoc world metric would be king indeed, scientific and technologic instruments are in metric even in the US and you could always get a ruler from a school or scales from a grocery store, so eventually you could get back on track to reforming the metric system. It would be interesting, though, if every society during isolation had slightly different measurements for the same units because of faulty equipment (say, ohms or amperes or even grays) and they had to make a congress to clear things up.
Returning to your main question. My perspective here is the same as conlangs. It's very, very fun to have them, but it's not fun to force your audience to read them. When I write something set in a fantasy or science fiction setting, in my head I'm assuming the characters are speaking different languages and I DO explain them and even give examples of them, but the story itself is written, for both the reader's and the writer convenience, in a language we can understand (Spanish in my case, and then it can be translated). Same with units of measurement. I seldom use direct units of measurement like writing "the ship was 110.3 meters long" (in science fiction, it's often a trap as they force you to stay true to them), when more descriptive language can be used...
In any case, you could do, for the kind of immersion I love, say something like "she was 14 oranges* tall, rather small for her age" and do an asterisk like "*A.N. : 1.39 meters tall". This is very fun when used sparingly, because it gives the worldbuilding obessed reader something to play with, you can do the conversion yourself and learn more about the world, without interrupting the story. Some understandably dislike this approach, but I think that if you know what you're doing, you can hide some pretty deep lore behind it. In one of my favorite retro games, The Ur-Quan Masters, there is an alien race called the Slylandro who live in a gas giant. When they tell you their ancient history, they use their own system of measurment based on the rotation of their planet with its own names like Dranhasa and Dranh. The game actually provides you with the rotation time on "Earth" time, so some dedicated fans did the conversion, and found out the dates fit with major events in the game's past. I thought that was an awesome bit.
But I digress again. Does this mean you should not talk about measurements in your story? No, it can do for very fun plots and digressions, as well as make things more realistic and beliveable. A fantasy world sharing all the same measurement units can be as unplausible as everybody speaking "Common". Let's remember that the current metric system is a modern invention which took a long time to be adopted (and some, well one, country, still resists it). Just take a look at the many, many historical systems of measurement:
This was especially prominent in places like the Holy Roman Empire, where every statelet, county, principality, free city, prince-bishopric, duchy, archduchy, etc. may and most often did have different measurements from each other. Just take a look at how measurements varied from each German region, it's crazy. The systems of weight where particularily important. Before the introduction of standarized coinage, coins also varied not only between kingdoms, but between regions, and even towns, and coins made at different times with different alloys had different values. Rather than money in our modern sense, you could think of them as some kind of 'asset' that could vary in value depending on the circumstances. What's more, those values had to be checked by people who knew what they were working with. Silver and gold content could be weighed, ah, but you need good scales and weights, and someone who knows how to work them! And these people could easily rip you off, or you could lose value accidentally if those scales weren't done just right or fiddled with on purpose. In fact, this is where the word 'Mark' comes from.
It wasn't as easy to take say a 100 something bill and get the change in 1 something coins. There is a very interesting subplot in the anime Spice and Wolf where Lawrence, the trader character, has been paid in gold coins, and he has to trade them into lesser denominations. However, he has to be REAL careful so that nobody scams him given all I told you above. Even getting 'gold' coins was a gamble before modern coinage and banking (another long topic). How much of that is REALLY gold and not an alloy with silver or other metal? Who can you trust to tell you how much your coins are worth? Are they compatible between borders or even time, is this version worth as much as the others? Things that characters in fantasy who have just plundered a dragon's hoard almost never think about. Except in Spice and Wolf.
(here is a gif of Holo to break the wall of text)
This all of course, as again you can see in Spice and Wolf, can make trade very tedious and even unstable. This was one of the reasons why the metric system was so quickly adopted in Europe and then elsewhere; consistent units just allow for easier trade. Lots of other things involving measurement can have a major impact on your story. For one, you NEED consistent and accurate measurement to create even the most basic industrial and scientific equipment. You can wing it for a time like alchemists (and even they knew their measurements) but eventually, you need to measure things to understand them. To have working steam engines, steel production, chemical industries and more, you need to know your temperature is. If you want to do electricity, you need measurements for current, resistance and charge. If you're doing engineering, you need to have lenght, weight and volume very, very clear, or people will die. They don't necessarily need to be universal like the metric system (though it has lots of advantages, being coherent between units and decimal so it doesn't jump between different denominations) but they need to be standarized and measurable.
Most of the above, unless you're writing some kind of encyclopedia about a fictional scientific revolution (BASED BASED BASED) will not affect your characters directly. But IT IS worth keeping in mind for what kind of world your characters are living in. The standarization of measurement units always means SOMETHING in the state of your society, the strenght of the state and centralized authority, the state of scientific understanding (one could say that trying to measure the world was perhaps THE scientific revolution, "Man as a measure of all things"), the capability for industry and the standarization of coinage and trade.
Even if you don't have your characters interact directly with those things, they will interact with them. It's also, like I've said in the examples, fun to imagine characters having to learn or deal with different units of measurement, just as it is fun to imagine them learning new languages or cultural quirks. It's something I've done in the past, in my space opera setting, the worlds descended from the United States STILL use the imperial system, much to the frustration of the rest of the metric human sphere. There is also an alien character who has a hard time to learn human measurements, and that makes her melancholic about her past, as they can't intuitively see the now-extinct measurements she does. Again, man as a measure of all things... this does include other thinking beings...
There's more I could talk about here regarding time, but I did a post about that, though I'm not satisfied with it and will probably redo it in some time at the future. In any case, there's lot to talk about why every calendar in science fiction has 365 days and 24 hours.
As always, if you found this interesting and helpful, I would be very thankful if you gave a tip to my ko-fi! And feel free to ask about anything you'd like!

I did a little googling about Fifty Shades of Grey's origins as a fanfic and oh my god I have opened a terrifyingly deep rabbit hole. It's so much more than Fifty Shades. I think all of self-publishing might be an offshoot of the Twilight fandom. I'm going insane.
This essay explains a lot. Twilight fans got sick of Twilight but still wanted to participate in the fandom, so they got creative:
There were stories where vampires didn't exist (like Fifty Shades of Grey). They got CRAZY popular within the community because they were essentially just generic romance novels with characters we already knew (made it easy to write and consume, as we already liked and cared about the characters). Though there were always nods to the original Twilight series within them, you didn't even have to know Twilight to enjoy an All Human-AU. I've gotten tons of reviews on my fanfic where readers say they've never even picked up the book. By 2010, probably a good 75% of Twilight fanfic being produced was All-Human. It was literally a chore to find a fanfic that had anything to do with vampires.
Twilight fanfiction diverged from its source material to the point where it was only a minor tweak for most popular authors to drop the Twilight link entirely and publish their fanfic as original novels. From a comment on that essay:
Seriously, Twilight fandom got really crazy big for a few years there. It was not totally uncommon to get multi-million clicks on a semi-popular story. It's weird looking back on it and calling it "Twilight fandom" because it was really more like "Romance Novel fandom". For real, for a period there, calling a Twilight fanfic author a 'Twilight fan' would be the ultimate insult. But they never stopped writing about Edward and Bella! It's so weird
And from the main Twilight article on Fanlore:
So what we've created in our neck of the woods are people using their fanwork to gain a huge audience, then removing the fanwork, filing it, publishing it, and sending cease and desist letters if the fanwork is shared. (The published works are then marketed back to the fandom via author profiles and banner ads on the archives.)
Fifty Shades of Grey was the first of these to explode, but it's far from the only one. Every single one of EL James' fanfiction contemporaries I've looked into is not just a self-published author but among the biggest self-published authors in the world, many of whom were foundational to shaping the look and feel and tropes of the medium. Twilight fanfiction is absolutely foundational to all of self-publishing.
This explains so much about the mainstream parts of the industry to me. I don't think they've ever fully gotten out from under the weight of the Twilight fandom, even to this day. It's still the same stuff, look at this. From a former fan's ff.net profile:
My BFF Angel and I (who met through [writing Twilight fanfiction]!) are co-writing writing a dark YA series of standalone romances, with so many of my fave themes. Trauma, bullying, addiction, social issues, violence, pretty rich high school boys being douchebags, hurt/comfort, frantic dry humping, you feel me you feel me.
The resulting book series from 2021 has tens of thousands of Goodreads reviews.

PAIRING: jake seresin x f!original character
TAGS: honestly it's just all fluff (i know, crazy, right?)
A/N: some of you might recognize some bits of this part bc they were in the original versions of the series... anyways, this part is solely dedicated to jake and jessie's history (i.e. a culmination of how they met and [some] important moments in their life). now for the 'bad' news... the next part will be the last one in the main series. i kept beating around the bush with them and now we're coming to a head! my inbox is always open for requests as well, so lmk if you ever want to see anything with them! anyways, i'll save the sappy shit for the fic and the next post's authors notes. oh, also there are some words/phrases in spanish. translations are included at the very end :) happy reading!

El Paso had been home for the last 6 years of her life. Every important milestone she could remember had been accomplished along the streets of that city. It’s where her parents decided to settle down once her father retired from the Navy. 6 years of peace. So when her parents had sat her down one random summer night to tell her that they were moving again, it had felt like her entire world was going to crumble. In hindsight, it shouldn’t have been as big of a deal as she had made it. She grew up a Navy brat, moving cities was supposed to be easy. But that was ages ago for her. Her father’s retirement was supposed to mean no more moving around. Now she was going to start high school in a little over a month. That was daunting in and of itself and now her parents expected her to move to a city 9 hours from home?
“You’ll be okay, mija. I promise,” her mother reassured. The new house was similar to her childhood home, allowing her to forget where she was sometimes. But then she would suggest to her father they visit her favorite bookstore and the fantasy she created in her head, even if it was for a minute, would crumble. Even after she had unpacked all the mass of cardboard boxes and placed everything to mimic her old room, the promised feeling never came. She missed the corner of the bookstore she made hers. The street that she used to race her parents down. She missed home. Austin wasn’t home. Not yet at least.
Jessie made herself as small as possible as she made her way through the crowded halls of Westlake High School, hands gripping the paper that held her future for the next 6 months tightly. Find your class was the phrase she repeated in her head like a mantra. She had only just looked back down for a second to double check the class number. By the time she glanced back up, she had no time to react before walking straight into a backpack, accidentally shoving the owner forward. “Oh my- I am so sorry.”
While spewing apologies profusely, the person she ran into turned around to face her. A tall boy not much older than her with blonde hair that was borderline brunette and eyes her favorite shade of green. “Dios mío,” she thought, admiring his face before her eyes caught sight of his jacket. He had said something back to her, but she registered nothing, too caught up in panic at the revelation of what he was.
“Mierda, he’s a jock. Good going, Jess,” she cursed in her head. If her preconceived notion about jocks was right, which was based on films, this was the first step to living four years in absolute hell.
Her expression must’ve been extreme because now his eyebrows were furrowed. “Hey, it’s really no big deal. Are you- are you okay?”
Was he really asking if she was okay? “Am I okay? I was the one who ran into you!”
“The hallway always gets packed on the first day so it happens,” he shrugged. “Do you need help finding your class?”
She quickly shook her head profusely. “No it’s okay. Thank you though.” Just as she finished her sentence and started to walk off, the bell had rung. She was nowhere near where she needed to be. What a way to start off the first day of high school. She had taken probably two steps before her schedule was snatched out of her hands. “Hey! What’re you-”
She glared at the boy, silently begging that he gave it back as he studied it. She didn’t have time for this. After a few seconds, he started walking. Now a couple steps in front of her, he turned back around with a raised eyebrow and smirk on his face and asked, “Do you want to be late or…?”
As they walked, he returned her schedule and she asked, “Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate it, but why are you helping me?”
“Because,” was all he said in reply with that smirk still plastered across his face, shrugging his shoulders.
Her face scrunched at his smugness. “Well, aren’t you going to be late now?” Right when she finished her question he just stopped walking. Quickly glancing at the class number and back to the paper, she sighed in relief. “Thank you so much.”
“No problem. Just try not to bump into any more people. Not everyone's as nice as me,” he jested.
“Noted,” she replied with a chuckle. As he walked into the class across the hall, he called over his shoulder, “Welcome to high school, Jessie!”
“Thank yo- Wait, I didn’t get your-” Before she could finish, he already vanished from sight and into the other room. “Name,” she mumbled to herself before walking into her own class.
The next seven and a half hours were boring as hell. Each teacher went through basically the same spiel about their class. It was the last period of the day now—English 10. It was a sophomore year class, but she had such good grades in middle school that they put her in English 9 in eighth grade. So yeah, a freshman in a sophomore year class. Having gotten there early, she took a seat in the middle of the row closest to the door, like she had the rest of the day. Nose glued to the book in front of her, she failed to notice the person who slipped into the seat right behind her. Tap tap tap.
Hesitantly, she turned to face them being met with a familiar face. “Hey stranger,” he said with the same smirk on his face.
“Hey,” she greeted back, confusion in her tone. “What’re you doing here?”
“Last I checked this is English 10 and you’re a freshman. So the real question is what are you doing here?” Leaning back into his chair as he asked—he wasn’t being entirely serious, but she didn’t need to know that. As she stammered and her face reddened, he did his best to hold in a laugh. “I’m just pulling your leg, Jessie. I looked at your schedule this morning, remember?”
Quickly, she released a breath she didn’t know she held. After taking a few seconds to recollect herself, she turned further in her chair to fully face him, extending her hand. “Jessie Rosales, but you already knew that.”
“I did,” he smiled at her gesture, shaking her hand. “Jake Seresin.”
“Jake,” she said, familiarizing herself with the name. “What sport do you play?"
“Huh?”
She quickly glanced down at his clothes. “Your letterman jacket.”
“Oh yeah, uh football.”
“Predictable,” she said with a shrug before turning back around. Realizing what she had said he lurched forward, his face now inches away from the back of her head. “Predictable? What d’you mean predictable?”
She turned her head just enough to talk to him again. “You’re a pretty white boy in Texas who plays football, Jake. It’s predictable.” Before he could say anymore, the bell rang and their teacher started to talk. One of the words she used to describe him didn’t go unnoticed though.
“She thinks I’m pretty,” he thought to himself with a small smirk on his face. But it wasn’t his usual one that he wore from his ever-growing confidence. No, this one came from the new warmth in his chest that made his cheeks turn pink and start to burn.
Out of the years of high school, sophomore year was supposed to be the most boring of the four. Freshman were the new kids on the block. Juniors had the stress of taking their SATs and getting ready to figure out what they wanted to do. Seniors were celebrating the end of their high school careers with prom and graduation. Sophomore year was the weird gap between truly leaving childhood and heading into adulthood, no large milestones to be had. So Jake didn’t expect much out of the year aside from the football season. That is until a girl came barreling into him on August 18, 1997. Yes, he remembered the exact date. How could forget?
A few hours after she had gotten back home, she sat at her desk mindlessly drawing in her sketchbook. Each page had a recurring theme, the most recent being planes. She had placed her desk to be right in front of her window, giving her a view of the street and the houses right across. A faded red truck pulled into the driveway of the house directly across from hers. She wasn’t sure what had caused her to look up at the exact moment that she did. She watched as they parked the car and hopped out. It was late and practically pitch black outside but the street light was bright enough for her to see who it was. When he tapped the top of the truck before heading into his house, a small smile grew on her face before she looked back down to continue drawing.
When she got to school the next day, her eyes searched the crowd in the hallway for a letterman—his letterman—but couldn’t find it. He probably wasn’t wearing it today. For the entire day, it was as if he didn’t even exist. Her only hope was sixth period and that was hours away. Still she waited. When she walked in, she immediately looked over to where they had sat the day before, finding him already there in the same seat, loudly talking to another boy behind him. Quickly, she slipped into her seat as quiet as possible, trying her best not to attract his attention away from his conversation. But of course, her plan was ruined by the squeak of her chair. “Look who decided to show up,” he remarked, looking down at his watch. “You know, freshman are usually the first one’s to show up? The fear of being late and all but you? Barely a minute to spare, Rosales.”
“Still made it, didn’t I?” His smile widened at her response. The sudden burst of confidence shocking even herself. “I didn’t see you this morning, did you come late? You did get home pretty late last night.”
His eyebrows raised at that, confusion and intrigue mixed into his expression. Still he remained silent as she continued. “Didn’t a new family move into the house right across from you?”
“How did you…?” The realization hit him slowly, his signature smirk returning. “You’re my new neighbor.”
“Yup,” she said with a pop.
His eyes narrowed. “Why haven't I seen you until now? You moved in like a month ago.”
“I’ve been around. You just weren't looking, I guess.” That was a lie. She hasn’t been around. She had spent that month memorizing the four walls of her bedroom. But that wasn’t something he needed to know. She was quick to leave class—the first one out the door when the bell rang as a matter of fact. There was really no need for her to be in such a rush, it wasn’t like she drove, so the traffic was the least of her worries. No, she wanted to be in the quiet of her room where she could breathe.
“Jess, wait up!” Her pace faltered at the shout of her name, rushed footsteps growing louder. “Damn, you’re fast,” he exclaimed as soon as he came to be side by side with her. “Got somewhere to be?”
“Home,” she replied.
“I can drive you,” he quickly suggested before jogging forward to open the door, waiting for her answer as he held it open. She maintained her pace as she walked through the door, making him jog again for a couple steps to catch up.
“I’m good with walking. Thank you though.”
“Come on, Jess. We live right across from each other, and you can get home in five minutes instead of roasting in this heat for thirty.”
She sighed at his persistence. “Don’t you have practice?” She didn't mean for her words to come out so harshly, instantly regretting them as soon as they flew out. “Sorry, I just have to get home.” Her voice wavered slightly causing his eyes to soften suddenly. It was so subtle that she barely even noticed but they did.
“Alright then, I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said, giving her a reassuring smile. Watching him as he turned to head towards his car, she looked over his shoulder to his truck. The old streetlight in front of their houses didn’t do it justice, but one thing caught her eye that she didn’t see the night before.
Rubbing her face in annoyance, she whispered to herself, “No dejes para mañana lo que puedes hacer hoy.” Don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today.
Before she knew it, she jogged up to him like he had done minutes earlier and asked while pointing towards his rearview mirror, “You like planes, too?”
The shock on his face lasted mere milliseconds before his signature smirk returned. “I do. But that’s actually an-”
Before he could finish she cut him off as she opened the door to the passenger seat. “An F/A-18 Super Hornet, yeah I know. Just wanted to see if you knew.”
His eyes softened, a small grin forming on his face at the banter before turning on the ignition.
—
“Did you do the essay?”
She jumped around causing him to jolt back in his seat from leaning forward. “Essay? What essay?”
“The one for this class, stupid. Minimum 4 pages about the last book you read.”
Her face grew redder by the second. “Jake.”
“Jessie.”
“You’re fucking with me.”
He shook his head. “I am not.”
She quickly turned to the person sitting next to her. “Hey, did we have an essay due today?” Their face scrunched in confusion. At their reaction, she slowly turned back to Jake who was now trying to hold in a laugh.
“Pinche pendejo,” she cursed, smacking his arm.
“Ahh hahah,” he whined through his laughter, rubbing the spot she hit him. “You’re just so gullible. I love seeing you get all red like that. It’s cute.”
“I hate you,” she murmured, rolling her eyes and turning back in her seat.
He chuckled at her. “No you don’t.” He tapped her shoulder to get her to turn back around but all he got in return was a huff. “Oh come on,” he whined. “Don’t be like that, Jess.”
–
"Jake's a good boy," her mother commented as she cleared up the dining table. Since becoming such close friends, she started to bring him around her house more. Her father was skeptical at first, him being overprotective and all, but after a while Jake Seresin became a part of their family. He'd come over for dinner every so often just like tonight where he was now in the kitchen helping her dad do dishes. "I know you keep insisting that you two are just friends but-"
She quickly interrupted her mother. "Mama," she whined.
"I'm just saying, sweetheart. You don't find good boys like him that easily these days. However that is, you keep that boy around."
As her mom spoke, her mind wandered back to the times when he dropped one of his teammates because he heard him talking shit about her. To when he bought her the book she had been gushing about for months. To when he dragged her out for burgers because he supposedly just felt like it. No matter if she needed or even wanted him around, he was always right there. Jake's voice pulled her from her thoughts. "Jess, you okay?"
She wasn't sure how long she had been standing and thinking for. "Yeah, I'm okay."
"You sure?" he pressed, a smidge of worry swimming in his eyes, and his hand placed on her bicep.
"Yeah," she sighed.
Just as he was about to say something Jessie's mom called from the kitchen. "Jake, honey, come here really quick!"
He gave her a reassuring squeeze before heading back from where he came. She followed him, catching her mother handing him their landline as she crossed the threshold between the dining room and kitchen. No one could hear what the voice on the other end was saying and he gave no indication of who it may be as he stood and listened. When he hung up, he looked towards his best friend and her parents, a blank expression on his face. "Is everything okay, míjo?"
"Yeah, that was the school's football coach. He said he called my house, but my mom said I was here," he trailed. "He decided the roster for the Varsity team."
Based on the look on his face, the Rosales' began to sigh, assuming that the coach had called to tell him he didn't make it. But then his face brightened once again. "I’m starting QB," he yelled, sending the family in front of him into a frenzy. Jessie threw her arms around him, spewing congratulations after congratulation.
"I knew they'd pick you, Jake," she whispered into his neck. "They'd be stupid if they didn't."
"Thank you for believing in me," he replied, loud enough that only she could hear him. "What kind of best friend would I be if I didn't?"
—
Game after game, Jessie Rosales stood in the same spot, no matter if it was a home or away game, holding a sign that had his name and jersey number on it as she cheered him on. Every time he heard her scream or saw him jumping in celebration, his heart swelled.
Jake had taken his team all the way to state championships and the stands were filled practically to the brim. Jessie showed up a few minutes before kick-off, taking a seat at the top-most row of the bleachers, a newly made poster in hand. Usually she was the loudest of them all but it being the championship game, her cheers for Jake were drowned out amidst everyone else's. Before she knew it, the last play finished as Jake threw the game winning pass, throwing everyone onto their feet. So many people were congratulating him and taking pictures she wasn’t sure she was gonna get the chance to get him alone. Fuck it. “Seresin!” she yelled from across the field.
At the shout of his last name, he turned to search for her, the slight frown he had molded into a smile. It was as if he came fresh off of the bench the way he sprinted at her. “You made it,” he exclaimed as he wrapped his arms around her.
“Of course I came! When have I ever missed one of your games?”
His embrace tightened and her feet lifted off the ground. “Never,” he whispered.
“Exactly,” she replied and it was like he could hear her smile. As soon as her feet returned back to solid ground, his embrace loosened, but he didn't let her go. Instead, he grabbed her shoulders and lowered himself so that his eyes leveled with hers. Her smile morphed into a confused frown as he stared at her for a second. “What?”
He took a beat longer than usual before answering her. “Nothing, I’m just happy is all.”
“You better fucking be, Mr. MVP,” she exclaimed, pulling him into a hug once more. “You’re the fucking best.”
“I am the best,” he agreed, his body relaxing into her embrace. They stayed like that for a minute before she pulled away and smacked his arm. “Now let’s celebrate by stuffing our faces with burgers!”
—
"What if we just went together?"
"Us?"
Her reaction sent him into a spiral, the blood draining from his face. "Yeah, I mean we'd go just as friends— people go with their friends all the time."
Her face lightened in amusement at his nervous rambling. "I'm just fucking with you, Seresin. We can go together."
Then every year after that, they went as each other's "dates." To homecoming and prom. By Jake's senior year, everyone in their school swore up and down that they were actually a couple, despite their insistence that they weren't. Them showing up to prom together just fueled the fire. Jessie wasn't even a senior that year, but the yearbook staff made an exception labeling her and Jake, "Most Inseparable Friends." Every time someone opened up their copy of the yearbook, you could see drawn-in quotations people would add around the word Friends.
But regardless of everyone's speculations or pressure, they never really did get past being just friends. At his graduation, all three Rosales’ stood next to the Seresins cheering with balloons and a bouquet of flowers. Jessie noticed the side eye his father gave her as she cheered for him when the principal called his name but paid no mind to it. She supported their son more than he ever did.
—
“Jake!” He jumped at her sudden shout.
“What,” he groaned as he rubbed his eyes. Summer was exhausting, Jessie and Jake deciding to do almost everything they possibly could do in Austin, Texas. He was leaving for college at the end of the sunny season after all. He wasn’t going far, but he’d be busy with classes soon enough. Most days, just like today, they found themselves lounging in her room, listening to music and catching up on sleep. Well, until she woke him up. “You know how X-Men is coming out next week?”
“Yeah…?"
“The Alamo Drafthouse is playing it!”
“And?” She smacked his leg at his sarcasm. “Ow! Okay, I’m sorry!”
“We have to get tickets!”
“Do we have to?” Her eyebrows furrowed, sending him an angered glare. “Okay, okay!”
She quickly stood up off her bed, placing her hands out in front of him to help him up. “What?”
“Let’s go. How are we gonna see the movie when we don’t even have tickets yet!”
“Ugh, fine. But you’re driving,” he said, tossing her his keys. As they pulled into a parking space in front of the theater, she turned off the car with lightning speed and ran to the tiny box office at the entrance.
“Sorry hun, we ran out of tickets for it just yesterday…”
Her shoulders sagged and she whimpered back to the worker, “Oh okay. Thank you though.”
Watching her as she walked back to his car, the pep in her step gone, he couldn't help but feel bad. As she sat back down in the driver’s seat, he asked, “Well? Did you get the tickets?” She shook her head.
“That’s weird,” he started, pulling something out from his pockets. “Because when I went there yesterday, they had plenty.”
At that, he placed two small slips of paper in her lap. “Two tickets to see X-Men, tonight at 8 o’clock.” Her eyes widened as she picked up the papers and shot her head around to face him. He had expected a shriek followed by a warm embrace of excitement but instead, he was met with a firm slap to the shoulder. “What was that for?”
“You’re crazy and you’re stupid. That was so mean!” Each word was followed by a consecutive slap. “Okay but do you need to keep hitting me?”
“Yes! Because you’re mean! Letting me get all sad thinking I wasn’t gonna see the fricking movie.” After a dozen more hits, she leaned over the center console and gave him the hug he was expecting earlier. “Thank you,” she said into his shoulder. “You’re the best.”
“Of course. One question though.”
“Hmm?”
“Who’s hotter: me or Hugh Jackman?”
“You’re an asshole, d’you know that?” He grinned as she turned the car back on. “Refusal to answer the question means the answer is me,” he quipped, singing the last word.
“In your dreams, dickhead. Obviously Hugh Jackman’s hotter.”
Jake gasped in feigned offense. “I can return those tickets.”
“You wouldn’t dare,” Jessie hissed, causing Jake to grin at her seriousness.
—
As Jessie handed Jake an envelope, his eyes quickly scanned the text printed. University of California, Irvine. “Jess, what is this?”
“Open it,” she encouraged. Carefully, Jake pushed aside the flap, the envelope already opened as he pulled the paper inside, his expression filled with concern.
“Oh, read it out loud, too!” He let out a breathy laugh at her excitement.
“‘Dear Jessie Rosales, it is with great pleasure that I inform you that your application for admission to the University of California, Irvine has been approved.’ Jess, this is awesome!” He immediately jumped up and pulled her into a tight hug, the papers thrown across her bed as he threw his arms around her.
A piece of him worried for what the newfound distance between them would strain their relationship, but when his phone rang every night like clockwork, her name flashing across the screen, his anxiety about losing her slowly faded into the background.
Then they both got into the Naval Aviation program, Jake first with Jessie following suit a year later. Even when they were stationed in different places at a time and being sent off on long deployments, their relationship stayed strong. Long calls like no time had passed made his heart swell.
“What’s up with you?” Jessie asked, her voice distorted slightly by his phone’s speaker.
“I am packing,” he responds loudly for his phone’s mic to pick up as he moved to grab more clothes from his closet.”
“New orders?”
“Yeah,” he trailed, his voice strained as he shoved stuff into his duffel. “M’not supposed to tell anyone, but I got called back to Top Gun.”
Jessie didn’t respond for a second. “Hey, you still there?”
“Yeah, I’m still here,” she answered quickly. “D’you know why they’re calling you back?”
“Nope, but you know the Navy. They tell us where to go but not why.”
Jessie hummed. “Well, I’ll let you go pack.”
“Alright, good night. Love you.”
“Love you too.”He sighed as his phone beeped when she hung up, falling onto his bed in exhaustion.
Both of them saw the other grow up to be the person their younger versions had always wanted to be and neither of them would have it any other way.

Scalding, unnecessary take that I'm going to use as an excuse to yap about my hyperfixation characters more than anything, but El's character is actually impossible to stick into coffee shop fanfiction No Supernatural Shit AUs. That's Jane you're writing about. Jane and El are not the same person. At all. And like, Jane is interesting to think about, don't get me wrong. I have thought about Jane. I love Jane. She's adorable and vaguely autistic. But Jane != Eleven.
Eleven is the way she is almost entirely because of her experience/trauma of growing up in the lab and having supernatural murder powers. Her main characters traits are being a self-sacrificing hero and not being sure who she is due to the fact she grew up in an isolated sterile inhuman environment. Unless you're directly translating those things into something unsupernatural (like growing up in a fucked up cult or something and like fighting her way out and now she'll fight to protect other people from similar experiences or something idk) you're writing about Jane the normal gorl who got to grow up with a normal personality in a normal world. And like, you can do that. It's fine it's fandom do whatever u want. But personally, the first thing I come up with when I birth an AU is what crazy powers and fucked up backstory we give Eleven here. Also how do we make her and everyone else really fucking cool but that...might be beside the point idk.
The powers have to basically ruin or have had ruined her life at one point. They have to be a curse that she either reclaims or gets rid of at the end. If she isn't tortured she isn't Eleven Stranger Things lmao
And then yeah yeah my next step is to figure out how Mike AND THE OTHERS OK but mostly Mike get involved in this. Which brings me to my next point: Jane and Mike have no real reason to talk to each other. Mike x Jane is just Normal Gorl x Normal Boy which is like, fine sure if that's what you want, but also you kinda just erased everything interesting about their dynamic. You wanna know what makes El and Mike's relationship so compelling? Objectively? I'm objectively right about everything I'm about to say here? Ok their dynamic is this: Eleven is the most important person in the world, and Mike is the only boy who will ever love her. And yeah that second one sounds really sad but 1. yeah it kinda is :) 2. its not really true that's just what El thinks which is like a major theme for her character TO ME, her underestimating how 'normal' she is esp in her later years 3. it also is kinda true because he's the only boy romantically interested in her who actually understands and experienced all the supernatural/lab trauma bullshit and is actively fighting beside her through the plot of the show, and 4. he's literally perfect and also the only boy she'll ever love and need so it all works out.
And to explain the first one, I mean, you know she's saved the world twice right? She kinda literally is the most important person in the world considering its up to her to stop the apocalypse probably in the end? But its not the being important exactly that makes Mike love her ok, that's more of a meta character thing. Like she doesn't have to literally be the key to saving the world and the most powerful being in the universe. Its more that she has to have something really special about her that draws Mike specifically to her and binds him to her permanently and inseparably and he belongs to her forever and ever and they die in each other's arms. Like she deserves. In canon I imagine objectively and correctly that it went like this: Mike is a natural outcast collector and protector due to his pervasive unconscious need to be needed and his fear of losing the few people who like him, who meets the ultimate outcast girl who literally has nothing and needs him in a very real way, and this gives him an excuse to just pour his entire self into her, fulfilling one of his deepest interpersonal needs. The best part is that she's super selfless and amazing and she loves him the same right back so its actually a beautiful thing they get going. Basically the idea of being anything less than perfect for her is so sad and horrible due to how fucked her life was that it drives the already caretaking Mike into overdrive to make her happy. Not at the cost of him still being an individual person, mind you. But that's the vibe. Also let me just say, all the self-sacrificing vibes and obsession and desperation can become toxic under certain circumstances and that is absolutely a feature not a bug. Sorry you don't like watching your faves yell at each other but we are not the same.
Anyway what the fuck was I talking about? AUs? Yeah ok so when translating Mike (AND THE OTHERS...and the others) into other stories there's more flexibility u kno because he's mostly just Some Guy. He really just needs (TO ME) an excuse to be fighting with Eleven (she has to be fighting something with the powers I know you gave her). He shouldn't be directly involved with whatever gave her the powers but he should generally know of and be somewhat affected by it. Or become aware of it/involved with it over time. Like in the show. You get it. Honestly his only real consistent character traits are being kinda moody and being the leader of the party in whatever vague or not way. And being intelligent. Like he has to be leader for a reason. I guess that's a decent base for a character right there.
oh right side note: you have to do something fun with her name. like she was basically branded Eleven by the freak that gave her the powers so u gotta take that energy and translate it into another branded name that has el in it because she needs to get the nickname ofc. unless its a cyberpunk au in which case Eleven is a pretty normal name and she can just go by that lmao.
So the point ig is Jane and Mike break up when they go away to different colleges and don't talk to each other again until their next high school reunion, while Mike and Eleven are...well you should know by now.
#this is truly me rambling to myself but ig that's why we're here right#yes i want to discuss mike and eleven's characters more#yes its exhausting writing shit#yes u can ask questions/talk about ur own AUs or whatever#blah blah engage with me or don't ig#one like and i list my AUs tho#if i feel like it#ig ill tag this#mileven#not like theres anything else in the tag rn hahaha

During the time that Belos was fighting Raine and the main cast was telling their stories to The Collector, which places do they go and what are reactions from the Gravity Falls gang? | Durante el tiempo en que Belos luchaba contra Raine y el elenco principal le contaba sus historias sobre The Collector, a qué lugares van y cuáles son las reacciones de la pandilla de Gravity Falls?
IN ENGLISH
I'm sorry it took me so long to respond, school is driving me crazy.
Stan would have the idea of taking everyone to the most important places for the Owl Squad (whose members consist of Stan, Luz, Eda and King), Ford, Mabel and Dipper are surprised by the idea, they would undoubtedly be amazed by everything that the islands can offer them.
The Owl House: The first place they go to is the house where Stan and Eda lived most of their lives, using a shooting star that flies through all the islands, the group reaches the Owl House and finally lands in front of it. The Collector makes the star disappear
The Collector: So it all started at the Bird House.
Eda: The Owl House. Speaking of which, what happened to it?
Eda flies over and looks at the current state of the Owl House, Stan looks in shock, seeing such an important place in such a state.
King: You guys, uh, haven't been here in a while.
Mabel: I like the way she looks, she's so pretty!
Ford: Is this where you lived all these years, Stanley?
Stan: I swear it looked better before...
Luz looks at a picture of her in the Owl House. In the picture, she's sticking her tongue out and smiling. Eda is standing by the door, arms crossed and smiling, King is sitting on top of a smiling Hooty, waving at the camera, and Stan was shown in the background, he was going through journal 2 writing something.
Luz: Stan, would you like to tell the story?
Stan: Are you sure?
Luz: Yeah… I think Collector needs to hear your side of the story…
Stan looks at Collector, hesitating to tell his side of the story, but after looking at Ford, Dipper, and Mabel, he decides to start
Stan: Well… for me… it all started in the Human Realm… Things weren't so great… I accidentally ended up on the islands… Eda found me and gave me a place to stay… thanks to her, I was able to discover things I never imagined I could do… I found my way here and met Luz, Hooty, and-
As Stan says the last sentence, Eda flies back to the ground and places her hand on Luz and Stan's back
King: - jumps into Luz's arms - And the Demon King!
Luz: Neither of us felt like we fit in. So we decided not to fit in together. The Collector: - crosses his arms, scoffs - It was that easy, huh?
Luz: Not really…
Stan smiles as he takes out a photo and shows the Collector a picture of Luz and Stan running away from those who tricked them in "Witches vs. Wizards"
Luz: We had a lot to learn. But after a while, we met more people who helped us.
As she says this, she flips through more pictures, including Luz trying to be a Hexside student in "The First Day", Stan, Willow, and Gus supporting Luz in "Agony of a Witch", and Luz playing Grudgby with Amity and Willow against Boscha and her team while Stan was the coach in "Wing It Like Witches". A picture of Grom can be seen behind, with Stan sporting a black suit and wearing a Fez hat with his zodiac symbol.
Dipper: wow, stop, go back to the previous picture! - takes the picture - Grunkle Stan, it's you!
The Collector: Wow! That game looks fun - he said pointing at the picture of Stan playing Grudgby
Mabel: Grunkle Stan, is that really you?! Stan: I'm actually the coach of the current Grudgby team - he said proudly
Mabel: That sounds amazing!
The Collector: I wanna go there!
Grudgby Field was one of Stan's favorite places, as soon as he heard that the kids were having trouble with a Bully, he decided to teach the kids how to defend themselves. Thanks to the 10 years away from home, plus the 30 years running away and protecting Eda, as well as learning how to use his cane, Stan taught them how to play and over time became the unofficial coach of the Emerald Entrails, there he was able to get to know Willow, Hunter, and Gus better, and form bonds with the student athletes.
Mabel was so excited she wanted to scream, she had seen the kids practicing before, during her stay in Gravity Falls, and she was excited to join them in the future, which Stan immediately supported.
Afterwards they went to the Bonesborough library, where Stan learned all about magic and taught Luz the basics of magic, they spent so many hours there that Stan would have been called a nerd too, but the truth was that it was nice to share his knowledge with Luz.
Needless to say, Dipper and Ford were amazed by so much knowledge available, Mabel would be amazed because there are interesting romance books, besides "the good witch Azura", there was much more to offer.
Another important place for Stan was near the ocean, where he had memories of Ford and told Luz and King about his adventures in the thirty years he spent alone with his El Diablo and a duffel bag, over time, the rest of the Hex Squad had also joined in on his life lessons and what Stan's life was like 40 years ago.
Of course, Eda brought up the anecdote of how Stan overcame his fear of heights by having to save her from falling into the boiling waters, which Ford already knew thanks to their conversation at the lake in Gravity Falls.
Last but not least, the place where Stan fell was on his knee, where he spent his first nights freezing before Eda found him, as well as the place where he learned his ice spell and learned about glyph magic.
There, finally, Ford and Stan talk and make peace, finally Ford's palisman activates, which turns out to be a twin of Dominique, Stan's palisman, both hug each other while Ford admits that his greatest wish was to feel ready to forgive himself for all the harm he had caused.
Finally, Collector had understood a little more about how relationships, whether friendly, romantic or fraternal, were complicated, and that sometimes there could be more beneath the surface
unfortunately, Belos would not let them have a quiet moment…
Luz: No realmente…

The former member of the popular British boy band One Direction, Louis Tomlinson, caused a furor on his return to Mexico. Since the great reception he had in his hotel that, unfortunately, had an impact on certain inconveniences, there was no doubt that the native of Doncaster was ready to offer his greatest solo show on Saturday night at the Auotódromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
The concert that is part of the Faith in the Future tour, was held in front of more than 70,000 people, marking a milestone for both the performer and a male singer who, in addition, broadcast and recorded this great presentation that will remain in his memory. And it is that from hours before the doors opened, thousands of fans gathered in the surroundings of the enclosure, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and enthusiasm singing their repertoire of songs in chorus.
But before the "Louies", a term used by the singer's fans, went crazy with the presence of their artist, the Australian band DMA'S opened the show by working the hard work of opening up, taking the opportunity to sing their hits such as "The Glow" and "Fading Like a Picture". Their energetic performance managed to rouse the attendees and warm the atmosphere for the arrival of the main act. The songs resonated loudly, and the applause was not long in coming, being well received by the attendees.
The stage was equipped with numerous high-definition screens, ensuring that each of the attendees could see and hear the concert from any angle, even from the general area. This impressive visual display was complemented by an online broadcast, although the latter did not meet expectations due to sound problems and background noise, which in some moments overshadowed the quality of the concert for virtual viewers.
Despite this, Louis Tomlinson would be at a good time to start his presentation with "The Greatest", followed by "Kill My Mind", songs that were accompanied by a dazzling game of lights and fireworks that illuminated the sky, creating a visual experience that left everyone speechless. The screens showed visual arts in black and white, adding an artistic and nostalgic layer to the atmosphere of the concert.
After performing "Bigger Than Me", Tomlinson addressed the audience with a moving sincerity: "I never thought I would tour this size again. I spent the first three songs trying to calm my nerves. This is incredible. See what we have achieved, I love you. I'm very emotional and nervous." These words resonated deeply with his followers, many of whom have followed him since his time in One Direction.
Louis' show continued with "Holding On To Heartache", a ballad that made the entire stadium sing in unison, creating a moment of collective nostalgia. Tomlinson offered a mix of songs from his two albums, Walls and Faith In The Future, demonstrating his growth and evolution as an artist.
One of the most emotional moments was when he performed "Night Changes" by One Direction. This song not only celebrated his career with the iconic band, but it was also a tribute to the fans who have accompanied him since those days. The audience, many of them crying with emotion, sang next to him, remembering old times and appreciating his trajectory.
During the concert, the stage was illuminated with colored lights that accompanied each song, creating an atmosphere according to the message that their songs convey. In the middle of the show, Tomlinson took a moment to breathe, affected by a throat condition. In a sincere voice, he expressed his gratitude: "To have the luxury of being who I want to be, to sing what I want to sing. Not all singers can do that. So thank you very much." This moment of vulnerability and gratitude was received with ovations of support and affection from the public.
The night continued with "Copy of a Copy of a Copy" and "Walls", two singles from his previous album, and "Written All Over Your Face". Tomlinson also surprised the audience with covers such as "505" by Arctic Monkeys, where his guitarist performed an impressive guitar solo, demonstrating his versatility and musical skill.
Something outstanding about the young British singer is that he always took the time to thank his followers, especially those who have accompanied him since his time in One Direction. That caused the powerful song of "Louis, brother, you are already Mexican" to resonate in the Autodrome Curve, a sign of the affection and special connection he has with his fans. Tomlinson, visibly excited, mentioned: "Those who are here and in the stream, it doesn't matter if you're not present today, if you haven't been to a show, the only thing that matters is that you support me. So if you do, thank you!" he said.
After a brief break, Tomlinson returned to the stage with "Saturdays" and "Silver Tongues", two of the public's favorites. And so, the evening of the eternal lovers of the British singer culminated with a spectacular closure full of rockets and fireworks, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present. The night was a testimony to the growth and evolution of Louis Tomlinson as an artist, consolidating his place in the hearts of thousands of fans around the world.
This concert not only marked a milestone in Louis Tomlinson's career, but it also made it clear that his connection with his followers is stronger than ever, and that his music continues to inspire and excite crowds around the world.

It’s because some of us can’t stand fanon mike he’s not will or el at the end of the day it’s not our fault the duffers already messed up his character arc long ago. some of us aren’t really interested in mike like that and to be frank I hate how much trauma people are putting on him as if he isn’t a privileged middle class *maybe cis maybe not* kid with insecurities cause he can’t play hero anymore like he used to. Fanon mike is retaliation to whatever we got the last two season from the character and I get it, but why are we keep acting like he’s important to vecna or the plot like that he’s just els boyfriend and wills crush at this point.
You don’t agree with this most likely but idc I’m just here to let this out for those who sympathize with mike. He’s genuinely not a interesting character and if Will wasn’t in love with him I wouldn’t look his way.
Hello? Will solo stan that doesn't get the show in My asks? more likely than you think
i'm sorry but you clearly sent this knowing i wouldn't agree with you and you don't sound like you want a conversation so... why did you send this? was it just to tell me there's people that don't care about Mike? because shockingly, i know that already, the influx in open Mike hate was why everyone doubled down on his character being important and purposeful last week in the first place
i'm genuinely confused on how you're watching the show, though. i mean, at least you're admitting you're only in it for Will so i guess you're aware of your bias and shortcomings?
also lmao sorry but *maybe cis maybe not*?? are you trying to say being queer in the midwest 80s in a small town with a conservative environment wasn't that bad or damaging or worth elaborating on because he's "probably cis" and the family is middle class? hello? newsflash just in, the queers need to stop complaining about how scared they are of coming out and potential consequences of it, if you're cis you're basically getting cishet privileges anyway. i'm really not sure what you meant to say here, you okay? also, aren't All the characters cis??
the vendetta you have against "fanon Mike" is fascinating tbh. what exactly is "fanon Mike" to you, bc the ask suggests it's just Mike with any motivations and 3dimensional writing orrrr? also thank you for telling me that Mike El and Will are separate characters! i almost forgot! i really needed the reminder that these extremely different characters aren't actually the same person or re-skins. thanks for your service, you really showed the evil Mike-sympathizers today o7
but you know what, sure, i'll indulge this a bit, i like talking about the show after all, you don't have to read this ofc, i feel like we're both aware we won't find common ground here
saying that Mike isn't important to the plot is batshit crazy sorry not sorry. not even talking about s5, it's just plain wrong in general and i'm assuming you haven't seen the show in ages
even right from the beginning Mike is established as the first MC and then proceeds to be the main pov for the entirety of s1. in universe Mike is the parties dm unofficial leader and according to Will "heart of the party", out of universe Mike is the only character that has established relationships and evolving conflicts with every single party member and even most adults like Hopper and Joyce. i don't know how you're watching the show to take away that Mike is unimportant and a support character
ST is an ensemble show and Mike is one of the characters, alongside El, Joyce and Will that consistently fills an MC role. (while also being one of the only ones to outright get referred to as one of the mains by actors and writers) where you got the idea from that Mike is a useless character people are stupid to care about is beyond me
if you're genuinely going into s5 hoping for Mike to be as unimportant and off-your-screen as possible i feel like you're setting yourself up for the disappointment of the century. i feel stupid just listing the reasons for why Mike is clearly going to be an important player in s5 because of how obvious they are but oh well
Mike is the first protagonist ever introduced and the final season that wants to go "full circle" Has to finish his arc satisfyingly for it to work
Mike is Will's love interest, a character that's already confirmed to be more of a main on screen again, so focusing on both parties of the ship is necessary to get them together
also Mike is still in a relationship? if he's supposed to go from dating El to suddenly dating a guy that's also his childhood bff you need to elaborate on his feelings. otherwise Will's romance is also going to fall flat and i'm sure you don't want that anon
Mike is part of the people that only came back to town after everything in s4 went down already and part of the group that seems to be the main focus in s5 (see the hill shot)
also just regarding the hill shot, Mike is center stage here (and also between his two "love interests"), totally accidental i'm sure
also the only character Will told about Vecna being alive in s4 and already swore to kill him with Will, also totally not a s5 set up don't worry
and before i go on here, aside from the writers themselves mentioning Mike as a main in multiple interviews David talked about the s5 mains a few days ago and Obviously Mike is up there along with El, Will and Joyce, exactly the people you'd expect
i don't understand how people are trying so hard to claim that there's nothing interesting about Mike to get into, as if even just s4 itself doesn't go out of it's way to set up an excess of potential conflict for s5
obvious relationship drama with El left hanging after an "i love you" monologue which we didn't see a response to yet
feelings for his best friend while he's still dating his gf
the unresolved painting lie
also the sexuality issue that comes with being queer/gay, that's been going back to s1. also made more severe by the show going out of it's way to repeatedly hammer home that the Wheelers are conservative and don't have close relationships with their kids
"you're the heart", speech about leading the party and bringing everyone together. he can't just face into the bg after Will gave him that talk, there needs to be payoff
the whole hellfire thing that's set up with the members names and faces being broadcast as "satanists" and the potential reason for everything that's been going on ON TV, sure that won't have any consequences am i right?
the Vecna plot itself, s4 makes it a point to have Will tell Mike and only Mike about Vecna being alive and the two of them agree to kill him right before the season ends
and that's just the obvious set ups s4 leaves us with, not even touching on the fact that Mike's pov has been withheld for essentially 2 seasons. which is something you can do and ignore, but only if the characters don't have anything going on during that time. Mike meanwhile changes drastically in these two seasons and we never get to learn what actually happened, why he's suddenly so set on growing up and getting gfs in s3, why he's suddenly such an uninterested bf in s4, why he suddenly feels weird about kissing El in the s3 finale after already having made out with her. there's a lot happening and we only see the fall out of it, we don't get Mike's pov. you call it "bad writing" but that's a picture book writing 101 set up, if you don't see that i don't know what to tell you
but i feel like you said everything already, i'm just rambling because i like talking. we probably won't find any common ground here. you only tolerate Mike because you like Will and that's that. not everyone has to care about every aspect of a show, however, i don't get why you're going to other blogs to tell them about your personal preference and about how you don't like one of the MCs. this is an ensemble show, it's not the El-show, and it's not the Will-show either, both of these takes are equally wrong
i don't know what the ideal s5 would look like to you, but if it turned out Will was the only important thing and the only character we focused on it would be absolute ass and horrible writing
Lucas just lost Max and left him with a shit ton of trauma, also Erica's gone through so much too. Max is still lost in a coma. El is distraught over not being able to save Max and now not find her anymore. Dustin just lost Eddie right in front of him too. there's a military presence in Hawkins now, the hellfire club fallout still hasn't happened, and so on and on. (also things like the "Nancy love triangle" still need time to be resolved too)
there's a lot s5 has to focus on to be a good wrap up for all these arcs. and yes, handling Mike's arc well is also part of that, shockingly
also ending this with a: you know people are allowed to like and care about character even if you don't give a shit about that character, right? claiming a central character with a ton of conflict set up isn't interesting is well withing your right and i won't change your mind on that, i'm aware, but going after people for actually caring about the conflicts the show is setting up isn't the move either. not everyone is obligated to share your views, especially when they're this far out there. and i feel like you knew that going in here
#help what a take#no hard feelings anonie we clearly knew there wouldn't be a consensus from the start here lmao#but oh well i'm still kind of surprised to see these takes ngl#ask tag

I got these two little comments on this post about Colette HC's and its honestly a wonderful question for world building. I have an answer to both of them, but I felt like it would be better to explain it in a post rather than just in the comments.
This is gonna be a long post.
We know that there's an in-universe fanbase for Starr Park in Brawl Stars. Colette is the most obvious example for this, but other brawlers reference social media, Brawl Stars, and their popularity itself. Emz, Chester, and Melodie all come to mind, but I'm sure there are many others.
My general Headcanon (the one I talk about most often and isn't tied to any specific story) is that 'Brawl Stars' is like a fighting tournament held by Starr Park where exceptional and powerful people called 'Brawlers' can fight each other in wacky and crazy scenarios of fame, fortune, and glory. All of the characters are real and not just actors playing a bit, so I guess that this would probably be considered an RPF or a Real Person Fandom in-universe. I will admit though that I'm not in any RPF's myself so I'm a bit unsure of certain terminologies or any specific details of those fandoms.
Now for the brawlers themselves, there are two main ways that a person can become a brawler. Its either 1.) a staff member of Starr Park is proven to be exceptional/powerful enough to 'get promoted' and make the cut or 2.) an already famous person signs a contract to work at Starr Park. There are more but those are the most important. People like Shelly, Fang, and Larry & Lawrie fall into the first category, meanwhile people like El Primo, Lola, and Melodie fall into the latter.
As for brawlers getting merchandise, I think that everyone gets some merch made of them. They made it into the big leagues of Brawl Stars so theres got to be some fans for them to please. The big names and celebrities would obviously have merch made of them, but even the Brawlers who in-universe wouldn't be too famous still have stuff made of them,
Example: Super Fan Emz and Sugar Rush Sandy
I'll argue that Rosa and Carl would NOT be at the same level of Fandom love and appreciation as Poco or El Primo.
I think merchandise with a specific brawler in mind depends on 1.) how popular/forward facing they are to the fandom, and 2.) how many jokes/puns the company can fit into their merch. So someone like Sam has some 'Uncle Sam' posters displayed in the Basket Brawl arena despite being more like a body guard to Belle, while Grom (who I'd argue would hit the same fans in the in-universe fandom as Sam) doesnt seem to have any merch about him yet.
I do like to think that the Gift Shop Trio does have their own set of merch that we just dont see. Everyone loves the crazy girl and the emo boy in fandoms, and that just fits Colette and Edgar to a T. Even Griff could be kinda popular since his unique head shape is something that you can play around with a lot.
But regardless of a brawlers popularity, I like to think that they all at least have a figurine and/or plushie made of them and any extra merch they have just depends on how well received they are as a Brawler.
I hope this explained everything and all. Feel free to ask any questions if somethings confusing, this was a bit of a ramble hehe.

episode 5 impressions (spoilers)
1. everyone going ohh boyd you suck you're a bad leader we don't need you 😒😒😒 and then 3 minutes later its "sheriff we need you to separate a man from the pool wall he got fused with, you can do that right?"
2. until proven wrong im gonna assume the bottles in the bottle tree were important to tell the tree where to send people so jim jade and tabby sealed poor dale's fate when they messed with them #rip
3. call me crazy call me delusional call me insane i dont care i believe they're setting up jade and tabby to get together eventually after jim's tragic self-sacrificing death. "let men and women be friends" ok but not them
4. "i saw your freaky kids 😏" the way he knew that would cheer her up. and it did
5. boyd telling kenny that his weird woods creature walking around the cabin tragically didn't make the cut into the top 10 pressing issues he's got to worry about that day
6. say what you want about jade's questionable babysitting strategies but both times he's watched ethan, ethan stayed inside. as soon as they left him with jim he was running off again??
7. i'm clowning too much on jim, i feel bad to do it when everyone else is clowning on him too, he's been trying his best, i see your efforts jim
8. julie and elgin are so cuteee i love them and i loved the scene with julie's theory that the place will never let them go... it would be one hell of a downer ending but hm
9. im worried that donna's about to break tbh after all that already happened her reaction to seeing dale in the wall had strong last straw vibes
10. really enjoying the victor and sara friendship, specially loving the fact that they're chasing the christopher mystery. i'm looking forward to sara's connection to the town playing a role in this plotline, it feels like it's all coming together since the voices made references to the christopher incident in S1
11. tabitha learning jade went into the tunnels for julie means everything to me like even with the shipping googles off its like see, youre not alone in protecting your family, you have at least one friend you can trust !!!
12. desperately need more matthews (+jade) family drama, i dont even care for the town mysteries that much i just need el chisme
13. on that same line of thought frankly i dont mind if the mysteries go unanswered, what i find most compelling is the theories the characters make along the way and what it says about them
14. miranda is such an intriguing figure i need to rewatch the scenes with henry in maine tbh so much was said... i feel like there might be more twists coming. it bugs me that i can't really figure why she wouldn't warn everyone about christopher like she did victor and eloise
15. "but where's the motel" the question we've all been asking im so excited if henry bringing it up will lead to new insights

When I saw this, my first thought was: why Ted? He's such an insignificant character compared to the rest of the characters. And a main character, Hopper, has had a HUGE storyline about him becoming a father figure to quite a few of the kids, mainly El and Johnathan. So why are we focusing on Mike and Ted?
Because of the meaning behind this scene, and what it tells us about Mike's character and his relationship with his father.
I vaguely remember this scene. If I'm right, this is when Ted is getting Mike ready for Will's funeral. If it's the Snow Ball, please let me know, I have an analysis for that too!! But anyway. In this scene, Mike says something along the lines of "Dad, you're chocking me!" and Ted responds with "It's supposed to be a little tight".
This is EXTREMELY interesting to me. The symbolism in this scene is crazy. Mike is about to attend his best friend's funeral, the funeral of someone that he (if we're right) is in love with. Now, this is the 80s, and Mike's a kid, so he probably isn't aware that he is in love with Will. But subconsciously he knows that the way he feels about Will is different to how he feels about the others in the Party. Again, this is the 80s. Being gay wasn't socially acceptable like it is today. It is extremely likely that Ted would react poorly to Mike being queer in any way.
So, Mike is about to go to the funeral of the boy he is in love with, and will be feeling many negative feelings. He will also likely be feeling a lot of complicated emotions about Will. And his father is helping him get ready, or, in other words, helping him prepare to hide his true emotions for Will during the funeral. "You're chocking me" symbolises how Mike feels like his father is making him repress who he is, and internalise all his feelings for Will. He feels trapped, and like his father is stopping him being who he is. He is unsure and afraid, and doesn't like pretending. It makes him uncomfortable. "It's supposed to be a little tight" symbolises how Ted feels he is helping Mike by forcing him to suppress his feelings. He believes he is doing the right thing, and that it is necessary to try to force his son to be someone he isn't.
The writers are still dropping clues. They want us to be analysing these small moments, the ones that we all forgot about, or thought were unimportant. They want us to connect the dots. These posts and clues are all so people can't say Byler came out of nowhere. It's always been there.
I hope this makes sense, I'm exhausted, it's the middle of the night right now, but I HAD to get this down.
#my first analysis!!#i have a few more written but don't have the screenshots to go woth them#anyway this is exciting!!!#proud of me#please say this makes sense#i tried my best#byler#mike wheeler

that being said, you can request if you're not 18+, but you have to state that clearly in the ask you're sending!!

one of the things that’s so encouraging is this off-season we haven’t received ANY reason to be worried that byler isn’t happening and every reason to believe it is. The only arguably pro-Mlvn content we got is the rooftop scene/3 waterfalls gate, but that scene can mean many different things and pales in comparison to the numerous byler images we’ve scene and the evidence that finn is filming heavily with noah and not with millie. there were also rumored “leaks” like the field makeout session, but pics or it didn’t happen lol.
The showrunners and shawn and the actors have simply not posted any pro-Mlvn content which is a crazy thing for what is allegedly the “main ship of the show.” We’ve gotten lumax and jopper but no mlvn! Which is honestly surprising to me cause I expected them to be playing up this triangle and giving us reason to “doubt,” but I see none!
Now is there time for things to change? sure! we’re still a ways away from season 5. perhaps there will be some mlvn crumbs in the teaser or the trailer. but like… as of right now, the writing is on the wall and I’m sure even the redditors and the hardcore twitter mlvns have to be feeling it
All they can do is hold onto the hope that there’s a lot of top-secret mlvn content being filmed, or mike and el are separated YET AGAIN but will find their way back to each other in the finale, which. okay. heteronormativity aside (and byler obviously being endgame aside), surely the duffers are more creative writers than that lol
It would be one thing if this was a situation where in between filming, all we heard was crickets from production and what inevitably leaked from paparazzi was all we got - but official sources do share things here and there and... yeah. Yeah. It's very suspicious that there hasn't been much that seems to indicate that Mike and El should even be thought of as a pair.
We got one picture with the two of them together, walking in a field, which I'm pretty sure was them walking to the radio station to film the rooftop scene. I side with the people who think production planted or paid paps to leak that video themselves, or at least let it happened, didn't buy back the footage as often happens with paparazzi content. Why was it so clear? Why did they allow it out there? And I think it's because there's nothing to be interpreted from the video as romantic. It looks like a break-up or reconciliation as two people working on repairing a friendship. Body language. Facial expressions. I don't believe most lip readers, but some things seems spot on. Get those who are savvy to online fandom and media hype to get used to the idea of those two parting ways. Yes - we see what we want to see. Mlvns see that clip as cementing them as a couple. Byler fans will insist it's a break-up. Yes, I'm a Byler fan... but come on? If we're all so wrong and it's a romantic scene, well. I'll feel trapped in a twilight zone nightmare world where nothing makes sense because it does not look romantic at all. They're such a boring bland couple if so. That wasn't romantic energy or chemistry.
We've seen soooo many photos or Will and Mike or WillandMike and not much of El at all, let alone with her love interest. What would be the harm in showing some Mlvn stuff if they were continuing onward? They're splitting. Mike is being shown with the real love interest.
I think. After season 4. Noah was excited about the possibility of Byler and was very in tune with the fandom. He encouraged it. I think he maybe had an inkling of where it was going, but it wasn't cemented as fact. He interacted with a lot, right? Still did sporadically even recently. But I don't think he of all people would be so cruel as to placate fans and encourage/indulge stuff if it wasn't gonna happen, because he had to have known once filming was underway where things were going. It really would be so cruel, wouldn't it? They could have snipped it already. And oh, we'd hope they're better storytellers than that, right? Mike and Will are spending most of the season together. Who knows were El is? But in the last season? It should be about Mike and El FINALLY past all the relationship "what is going on with them" at this point to end up fighting this thing together - and nothing indicates that's what's going on. If they, yet again, have them separated and reunite right at the end - boooooring and terrrrrible. I don't think that's what's going on. I trust them. Maybe too much. But it's where I've landed and my feet have sunk into the cement of it all.

I can't bring more Missa fun fact for a while because I'm about to start exams, so I thought of something easier.
Today, I bring you all... a list of Missa's characters.
Missa: Clearly, he's the main "character", he's actually just himself, the protagonist, the content creator, the crazy greñudo that breaks everything he touches and is a living hazard for himself.
Chef Missancio: The best chef in existence, he had his own space in Missa's channel, you can see him if you look for "cocinando con el chef/chefini Missancio".
Billy: A cholo, I don't know if there's a word in English for cholo... basically a criminal pffff, El Billy is a mad robber that often appears in his channel to show us how to make graffiti, steal, threaten people, etc; as a fun fact, we the Missaurios have a second name, Billy, so we share name with this character (tocayos jajaja).
Rob Boss: A professional painter that is often dubbed in Spanish, we don't know why, his first language is Spanish.
Mago Brujo: This guy was born to justify Missa suddenly getting braces, but he continued making appearances in Missa's channel where he shows us his magic, Missa hates el Mago Brujo.
Missa policía: A cop, an idiot one at that, he once shot Missa and the evil Missa clone (he also broke in Missa's house for that without a justification).
Ivan Ivanovish Ivanovsky: Russian Missa that once took over the video for 2 minutes (it was an excuse because Missa's hair was a mess and he found a Russian hat).

the other story being told in s1
(had this in my dafts for like 5 months but i decided to finally get the pics and post since we're talking more about timelines rn)
they are literally telling us exactly what events would've taken place if the gate was never opened, the original universe. the sad raw reality of a horrible situation in a small town in the 80's. if the UD did not combine with the real world, if el never opened the gate and didn't escape the lab and everything played out as it should've. i'm gonna guess that el opening the gate and/or will doing something thrust the normal hawkins timeline into a different one, the one we see the entire series, while still telling the story of what happened in the original timeline, without showing that timeline.
will byers is a gay kid who gets bullied for it and abused by his dad which eventually drives him to off himself by jumping into the quarry. (what hopper believes too if you look at the subtext including hopper asking joyce if will is gay). his mom starts thinking he's not actually dead and goes "crazy" impacting her loved ones around her. will's friends cope by thinking one of the monsters from their beloved game is the reason he's dead.
mike takes it the hardest though and starts believing will is alive too, but his friends help him come to terms with realizing he's not. he eventually jumps into the quarry too, thinking he can be with will again. if el never opened the gate the bullies would've never chased dustin and mike there, and mike wouldn't be saved.
these two bikes could represent will and mike in the og timeline hence the pan and prolonged shot on them.
how will ties into this is very interesting. we know he does shit with his watch so he obviously is aware of things other people aren't and in control of time in some capacity. for reasons i will not go into and gatekeep for a lil longer only bc it took me 6+ months to figure out lmao i know he's totally aware of these two different timelines and might have some doing with shifting the timeline. just notice how he always looks immensely guilty especially in s4. it's also another reason why he feels like a mistake, because he knows he's supposed to be dead. he himself in the parallel universe we watch the show through is literally a mistake. he probably still questions if he even deserves to be alive now in this parallel timeline.
now stay with me......
look at the dialogue and how they show the gate when this is said. literally showing the gate, a hole.
even having the bullies repeat this line
the biggest hole of them all...... literally in the middle of the hawkins community area.
will dying in the other/og timeline due to the abuse for being gay is somehow the root cause for this hole, and he knows it.
maybe that's how they'll tie his sexuality storyline in with his supernatural one, and why they're so incredibly linked. this is how he's the main character especially of s5 when they explain how will has always been the most vital part of the story.
adding to this since we know about the henry/edward timeline weirdness now, i think it's possible the og timeline = henry's and the parallel/one we've been watching this whole time = edward's. idk how well that lines up i'll have to think about it but it makes me think......
