Rum, sake, beer, wine, whatever you're down for drinking so is he.

Zoro's got incredibly high endurance and stamina—it's going to take a while for him to show that it's affecting him at all, but once it does, he goes from zero to one hundred faster than you can say "onigiri."

Literally no in between, no tipsy or buzzed. Just sober and then stumbling over his own feet and swearing he absolutely is not drunk the whole time.

All those repressed emotions that he hides behind a mask of dry sarcasm on a day to day basis are coming out in full effect.

That means you're getting one of two Zoros—goofy Zoro or sad Zoro.

Goofy Zoro's going to have his arm around your shoulders, laughing his ass off about that time he caught that idiot Marine brat swinging his sword around bare-ass naked so he chopped off half his hair.

He's likely to get pretty flirty in this state, even downright playful, especially if you initiate it, and it's almost definitely going to end in him dragging you somewhere private to fuck your brains out, because his restraint is totally out the window at this point.

If you end up with sad Zoro, he'll be laying his head in your lap and slurringly asking whether or not you think he's ever really going to be the best swordsman in the world, probably still beating himself up over losing to Mihawk.

Just comb your fingers through his hair and do your best to reassure him that you love him and genuinely believe in him. Whether it works or not, he's going ti end up falling asleep in your lap, so be prepared to be stuck there for a while.

"But like...you really think, like, I can beat that bird-eyed bastard? I mean he fucked me up with a goddamn butterknife."

Sanji

Sanji is all for pairing wine with food, but if you're looking to get a little sideways, he's going to want to show off his mixology skills to impress you—and he's going to be making some dangerous concoctions, the kind that taste like there's not a drop of booze in them.

The more lit he gets, the less subtle the flirting. If you thought he was clingy sober, you are in for a surprise, because that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Head on your shoulder, puppy dog eyes, telling you how pretty you are and how much he adores you every thirty seconds, with a big silly grin like you're the most amazing thing he's ever seen.

Probably the most fun drunk in the world, but he can be a hazard to his own health as his judgement begins to lapse so someone's going to have to keep an eye on him.

If you're at a tavern or otherwise public location, do not under any circumstances let the man out of your sight for more than two seconds. He turns into a straight-up child, he can and will wander off, and you'll find him a mile away on top of a building, likely half-naked and singing sea shanties at the top of his lungs, with no clue as to how he got up there...or how to get back down.

He's developed quite a high tolerance over the years and tends mostly toward dark rum, though he won't turn down a stein of ale or beer.

Total life of the party energy—telling jokes and stories, he just wants to see everyone laughing and having the absolute best time.

Super, super flirty, he may as well have written the book on pick-up lines; and he doesn't care that you're already together, he's going to drop every single one of them on you just to see how much he can make you giggle or roll your eyes.

He's very likely to pull you onto his lap at some point and make out with you like no one's watching—he already doesn't really care who sees when you're both sober, but he really doesn't care after a little too much rum, so it's probably best to coax him to bed at this point.

He's perfectly happy with cuddling up, laying his head on your chest and draping his arm over you, just humming in contentment and falling asleep together...but if you want more, don't expect to get much sleep, because he wants you lasciviously.

To taste every inch of you, to suffocate between your thighs until you're screaming, to pull you onto his cock and watch you ride him until you're both too breathless and exhausted to do anything but tangle yourselves together in the sheets and drift off to sleep between slow, sensual kisses.

Mihawk

Mihawk has a strong drive to be in total control of himself and everything happening around him at all times, which means he doesn't tend toward getting drunk.

But...he also has this wee little problem with his ego being larger than the entire volume of every combined ocean in the world. If you imply that you could drink him under the table...he's probably going to sneer and tell you to quit being a brat, but he's also going to be quite driven to prove you wrong.

He does love his wine, but it's generally only a glass or two to wind down and relax—he's definitely got a nice bottle of aged bourbon or eau de vie tucked away somewhere that's going to be coming out, because he's got something to prove now.

Unfortunately for him, due to the fact that he so rarely drinks heavily...he's a bit of a lightweight. Which he won't admit even to himself.

But it barely takes a single lowball of harder liquor to get that pale complexion of his a little flushed.

Perhaps just over three for him to start blinking a bit harder than normal in a futile attempt to get his vision to focus, to start speaking a bit slower to attempt to hide the slight slur in his words as you taunt him about it—which honestly only makes it more pronounced, and more amusing.

You had best enjoy it, because it's probably the only time you're going to hear the words, "Fine, you win," come out of his mouth—as well as perhaps the only time he won't be miffed about conceding. The alcohol in his system has him loosened up just enough that he can't pretend he doesn't find your boldness and sass at least a bit endearing...and even more alluring.

That being said, you're still getting punished for it, teased within an inch of your sanity, and he's going to enjoy every single second of it.

Setting his glass aside, plucking yours from your hand, pinning your hands above your head with a devilish smirk and slowly undressing you, his eyes on yours the entire time.

Trailing his fingertips across your bare skin, drawing closer and closer but never quite giving you want you want, his lips barely brushing against your neck, reminding you in an amused murmur in your ear that he could easily do this all night.

You did have the audacity to challenge him, after all—he has no choice but to remind you who's in charge.

"What is it, my little bird? Did you think you were going to get a consolation prize? You're still going to have to beg."

Buggy

"Bet you two thousand Berries I can shotgun two beers at once, watch this—"

And he basically ends up halfway drowning himself, but hey, you're two thousand Berries richer!

Honestly, there's no party like a Buggy party, because a Buggy party doesn't stop until someone loses a limb—probably him.

No, really. Don't let him use his devil fruit abilities. Keep a bucket of sea water on hand if you have to, because he may literally misplace one of his limbs and you're going to have to go on a Chop Chop Scavenger Hunt to help him find it while you're both completely smashed.

If Buggy's drinking, everybody's drinking, and everybody is getting completely fucked up. This is non-negotiable, he thrives on chaos and that's what he's intent on creating.

Anybody who passes out before him is getting something obscene drawn on their face in permanent ink. He can definitely hold his liquor, so if you can keep up with him then you can expect to be the last two living souls left conscious on the whole ship.

That being said, he doesn't care who's awake—things are going to get kinky, and he's really not bothered about anybody watching. Or joining in, for that matter. This whole operation very well may devolve into a drunken orgy if he has any say in the matter.

Then again, it may also devolve into him flopping dramatically across your lap and divulging absolutely all of his trauma in an emotionally-charged alcohol-induced rant. He won't remember it in the morning, so please do him a favor and don't remind him.

This was such a fun read. MC sneaks into a party to eat and drink for free and when Sans asks them how they know the birthday boy (Papyrus), they say they're dating his brother.

They pretend to date eachother, which stirs a lot of drama because the mc starts being harassed, buuut they still go with it.

I also remember this had some short underfell spin off (like a couple of chapters but written with uf!Sans instead), which I was feral about.

Underfell / Mafiafell

Overgrowth by SociopathicArchangel (I'm gonna give some context about this one before talking about it)

Only the overgrowth story is from the author. Anything else is not 'canon' to the flowerfell au.

This one is not shippy at all (despite some people considering it a frans fic) as per the author's headcanon. There was some drama involved with this story (the author was also a great artist and was making a comic of this au, but people were impatient and started doing their own versions of the comic even though the author wasn't ok with it), but what made the author delete the fic and the rest of their socials all together was that people started reposting the original story on Ao3 and claiming it as their own, which made the author really upset. The video linked in the title is the only thing they were ok with.

This story is very special to me. It shows how shitty Uf!Sans world is and how it affected him. Why he is the way he is and all that.

When Frisk comes to the underground, he cannot fathom anyone being nice, which makes him believe he's being played. The plot also heavily relies on resets, which I love.

The story is quite sad (and I love that too), so have your tissues ready!

The very first Mafiafell fic there is I believe? I could be wrong but I think it is.

Technically Frans but Frisk is an adult, has different pronouns, different skin tone... I consider this a self insert with extra steps honestly.

MC lives with Sans when suddenly Red and Skull (uf and ht Sanses) show up. They're cousins according to Sans, and they really like MC.

Saving Three Ex-cell-ent Skeletons by RecklesslyCaffeinated

I believe this one is inspired by some asks answered by llama on her Tumblr. It's the same trio as in aggre

MC is a nurse at a monster prison. There are three different skeletons there, and even though they look similar they're quite different. The one thing in common is that all of them dig her.

I love the story on this one, it feels like I'm watching a tv series if that makes any sense.

"oh my god, almost all the seats are full!" your friend whispered beside you.

"yeah..." you trailed off, scanning the audience for familiar faces. you giggled when jade pointed out your math teacher in the third row, and your history teacher in the fifth who had brought his two daughters.

you fell silent when your gaze fell to the first row, near the dead center of the stage. ellie williams. she told you she would be sure to come see you dance, but you didn't expect her to actually follow through.

jade poked your side when she noticed your expression.

"hey, you ok? i know it's a lot of people watching but we'll do great."

"i'm fine," you backed away from the curtains. "we should start warming up." she agreed and followed you to the green room. as you walked, your mind wandered to the last time you saw ellie.

ellie made herself comfortable by immediately falling to your bed one the two of you arrived. as you took out your chromebook and notes to begin working on your project, she studied your room.

"dude if you think this is messy, you should see mine," she snickered. suddenly her eyebrows raised at the sight of your trophies, medals, and plaques presented on the top of your dresser.

you swiftly rose up, placed your arms in the ending position, propped one knee up, and gave the audience a smile, as if it was the plan all along to end up on the floor.

you rushed side stage after curtsying a final time, and your lungs felt as if they were on fire. tears stained your perfectly made-up face, and your head spun.

it was extremely embarrassing that the only thought on your mind at the time was about ellie.

you needed fresh air.

the halls were crowded with dancers rushing towards the lobbies to greet their loved ones that came to watch. you pushed through the people and pried the back door open.

you let out a huge sigh of relief as the cold wind hit your face. you slowly sunk to the concrete and rested your head on your knees, attempting to take deep breaths.

after about ten minutes of intermission had passed, you shot up, realizing you almost fell asleep. the past few hours were packed with so much stress it had you completely exhausted.

you pressed your hands on the floor and stood up, reaching for the door back into the dressing room. you paused when you saw someone peek around the corner of the brick wall.

you froze when you saw ellie cautiously step into the breezeway, holding something in her hands. oh my god. did she get flowers?

your mind rushed with questions and thoughts, simply staring at her now standing in front of you, flowers in hand.

you decided on, "those for me?"

ellie chuckled nervously.

"yeah, i saw everyone else getting them, so i figured i would too. they were pretty cheap and they're the same color as your tutu..." she gestured between the blue flowers and your costume, "i thought you'd like them. i know it's only the middle of the show, so it's actually kinda weird, i guess, but..." she appeared unsure of herself as she spoke. you hoped she could see the harsh blush that suddenly grew on your cheeks as a sign that you loved them.

"i- wow, thank you. trust me i don't think it's weird. i didn't even expect you to show up, to be honest..." you grabbed the flowers and began fidgeting with the petals.

"well i'm glad i did. it's really cool. and the snow part was beautiful."

you scoffed. "yeah, i'm sure i was the most gorgeous dancer on stage with that graceful landing."

she frowned when you quickly wiped your eyes. "you're really hard on yourself, i thought it was still great. and you pulled it off better than i ever could've."

you tilted your head down to hide the smile growing on your face, leaving a slight pause. "i should head back now, i'm sure my friend jade wants to see me."

she nodded and stepped back, swaying on her feet. "yeah, yeah... i'll... see you later, good luck." she began walking to the front of the auditorium.

"thank you again, ellie," you called out to her before disappearing behind the metal door.

as soon as you entered the dressing room, your back pressed against the door, hands clutching the small bouquet, and heart racing.

I'm truly sorry for the hate you've been receiving on your recent chapter. I have to be real, those types of comments really make me cringe and want to distance myself from these reader/oc fics. As someone who's typically shy, I'm trying to be better at leaving comments, but then I see these individuals getting way too personal about fictional characters and it reminds me of creepy men's comments on my OF account. It's when parasocial relationships and self-inserts become too intense, and I always see the same culprits leaving bizarre remarks about Alys under these stories. It takes away from the enjoyment of reading modern adaptations featuring Aemond who is already a complex enough character. Knowing that the reader or OC will most likely be portrayed positively, it's insane how possessive they become over Aemond in these situations. I only got into Hotd after season 2 and just started reading Aemond fics a month ago, but every time I come across a reader story involving Alys, there's always some obsessive commenter losing their mind because Aemond isn't treating the reader like they want him to.

Although, I feel the need to let you know - I've seen horrible stuff in this fandom, and even though what I got was a bit mean, I'm quite comforted by the fact that it could be much worse haha. Probably not the right way to look at it, but that's all the space I'm willing to give to strangers on tumblr lol.

I don't know if it's a parasocial relationship so to speak; honestly, I don't know the subject well enough to even see if it is that, actually. But I can see that people are usually very inclined towards the OCs/readers - and perhaps that contributes towards their feelings.

I've been talking about the unwarranted Alys Rivers hate that I've been seeing, especially since I posted the last chapter of Time Can't Stop Me.... One thing that came up in every conversation is that we tend to look at fantasy or period dramas through a modern lens. It is automatically assumed that our values are a part of the construct of the fictional world - when in fact, grooming, as a concept, did not exist at all in Westeros. Doesn't make grooming okay - I'm just saying that it wasn't even recognized as a crime in the canon setup.

Westeros is a male-dominated world, and an absolute monarchy at that. Doesn't matter if you're eight or eighty, if a prince stands opposite you, you have absolutely no power unless you're a bloody king. Because grooming was not a concept in Westeros, I don't understand how people blame and hate Alys, rather than the unhinged killer prince who rode a sentient war machine lmao - anything she had over him was purely her own, and was she was definitely not helped by the society or people around her.

But maybe that's just me wdyk.

The show's portrayal of Alys is clearly far from the negative connotations that have been associated with her here. The book doesn't divulge much. I'm genuinely confused as to why this is happening lol

Ryseui often makes fun of Chifuyu and his love of shoujo manga and romance. But he finds it super cute. And since he also has a huge weakness for Chifuyu, he arranges for him various "scenes" typical of shojo mangas or dramas (like "rescuing" Chifuyu from a cyclist who is riding a good few meters away from them), which are more like pranks and cause Chifuyu's irritation and frustration. at the beginning, but then Ryusei makes up for everything and Chifuyu admits that he is a very charming bastard.

I would love to write a Hanahaki Disease fic! I already have it in my head, but this idea will have to wait. Hmmm, who could write it well? Maybe Julie Kagawa could create something good? Her "The Iron Fey" and "Shadow of Fox" series convince me she could handle it. Or Colleen Hoover hahah. She would definitely dramatize this theme even more. Her Hanahaki Disease book would definitely be a bestseller

Honestly, it helps me to read fics or books where the characters are also fans and create something themselves, mainly fanfiction. I can identify with them and feel solidarity. Their passion is contagious, their doubts are my doubts. Stories like this make me feel motivated.

When I see some incest tags 💀 If in the fic the romantic relationship is between siblings, I have *ABORT ABORT*. Just like there is a threesome with siblings in the main role. If there are love triangles between a character and two siblings - that's cool, but God forbid such a threesome 💀

If I see that the text is written in a sequence and there are no paragraphs, then I often give up reading

(Book Binding Anon, again) I see you get asked a lot for your OW headcanons/interactions or for other writing tidbits. And I'm always really glad there are people who reach out and let you know that they like what you do, that they want more! But...yeah, it also nags at the back of my head the content aspect, of it feels like enough or fulfilling, or if it wears on you. (I used to run a very niche reader insert blog back in the day; I remember the grind, the weird mix of validation and feeling pressure to do more.) So even though I am...well, embarrassed to be perceived, I guess? I still wanted to let you know that yeah, you've made something that someone has really, really loved, and has inspired people (shout out to all those artists who drew awesome things and the person who wrote Stepfam fanfic). I think that's awesome, and I really admire you.

Yeah I mean... like obviously these days there's some OW stuff I'm more willing to talk about than others, but also as far as hyperfixations go I've definitely made a hard shift over to DC and like... I mean sure, some days I'll have my notifications light up with someone steadily moving through my fanteractions, or I'll get a string of Kudos on AO3 for my OW stuff, but for the most part, I feel like there's a general understanding that even I have my limit in terms of Blizzard Fumbles before I'll start focusing my energy somewhere more rewarding.

I think another kind of... disheartening thing about the 'crank out content' instinct is seeing a note on your post that has someone commenting like "Lol tumblr's so wild for this" and it's like... Yes I am *of* tumblr but also there's only one OP and my username is right fucking there. Like I'm absolutely willing to chalk it up to a combination of iPad Baby Brain (or more specifically TikTok 'please spoon feed me content' brain) and Tumblr's "Piss on the Poor" concept of reading comprehension to make someone act as if these posts are randomly generated out of the ether and not created by like... an actual human, but still it's like one of those squicky concepts of being simultaneously perceived and NOT perceived.

I was smoking so I thought of this, just some little headcanons.

It's kind of reader insert because 'you' being there is implied, but not romantic, or just ignore it if that's not your thing.

also, I'm new to posting my writing on tumblr, so let me know if I'm doing anything wrong and what I should be writing, anyway... HCs

Gojo

Do NOT give him aux, not that his music taste is bad, but he'd purposefully play some wacky bs (think Minecraft remixes and bad SoundCloud rap) just to piss off everyone else.

He gets the giggles when he's high, everything is funny and he's crying a little from how much he laughs.

Gojo's tolerance is so low that he's only in the rotation for the first couple of bowls. (guys I can't roll, but we get creative with the DIY bongs.)

He brings snacks, but they're all sweet and he eats most of them.

Talks the whole group into playing dumb party games (truth or dare, would you rather, 20 questions). And he's fully invested too. Nobody else actually cares and he's standing there scolding you, "no it's important. If you had to pick one of us to go, who would it be, me or Nanami?" Cries when everyone picks him.

Geto

Here's the better music option. I can't say exactly what he'd play because it's different every time. He has a playlist for every mood.

Brings the savory snacks, most of them are spicy. I think he'd also pull up with a tupperware of leftovers too, but just for him. There's never enough for everybody, but maybe you could talk him into giving you a few bites.

He'd start doing random conventional tasks so incredibly wrong. Geto would be baked, and just stand up to start doing laundry. As long as you keep him away from the kitchen, he's fine.

The English language no longer exists. He just makes up words that sound similar to the intended definition. Mixes these in with his long-winded monologues about life or when he's trying to convince you to let him use the stove.

He's a lighter stealer, don't let it out of your sight or it'll disappear. He'll help you look for it too, until someone just offers theirs (which will also be stolen).

Nanami

Quiet. He's just in his own head.

The only one man enough to text the plug (even if he sounds like a fucking cop, he does his best).

Does not condone underage smoking, these are his loose college years. So if you're under 21 (sorry broski) gtfo.

He zones out a lot, just staring at the floor.

Swears up and down that he's not high when he's been counting the floorboards for the past twenty minutes.

You also have to keep him out of the kitchen because Nanami doesn't want cheetos, he needs REAL food. But if you let him cook before he smokes, the munchies are immaculate.

The only time you'll see his hair messy. It's like the hair gel gives up after the first hit.

Shoko

She starts eating the snacks before you've even packed the first bowl. Also stashes her favorites for later before anyone else can get to them.

Funks up the function with her cigarettes too. Everyone groans when she pulls her pack out.

Highest tolerance of the group, or maybe she just keeps it together the best even when she's tripping.

And she never passes that shit either (it's okay 'cause she's pretty). Whoever's next to her is getting straight ash.

Utahime

She's only there when Shoko is so she can have a Satoru buffer.

She'll get all soft and sappy though, complimenting random features and attributes of whoever's shoulder she's leaning on.

Honestly, really nice to be around.

She also likes sweets as munchies, but it kinda works out because she and Gojo only get along when they're stoned.

Gets bullied into getting fast food when the snacks run out.

Mei Mei

She only smokes girl blunts, rolls them herself, and doesn't share.

Probably doesn't even come most of the time.

She doesn't talk to anyone until she's hungry, and then all of a sudden gets friendly as she sneaks a hand into the pretzel bag you're holding.

Favorite thing about yourself: i can take care of people, and i'm good at it. i can make people feel better, and i can stand up for them when it's needed

What brought you to tumblr in the first place: this blog started out because @denim-mixtapes and i, who met through our former blogs dedicated to A Fandom We Don't Talk About Any More, were yelling about eddie munson via snapchat, discord, instagram, our public twitter accounts and our private ones, tiktok, maybe more? and then @fanatictypist, also a friend from AFWDTAAM and deep in the brainrot but never having taken the break from tumblr that mandy and i did, suggested taking our ideas to tumblr bc this was july 2022 when hype was INSANELY real

before that, i made a blog specifically for AFWDTAAM because a) i missed the fandom blog i'd had before that which i had previously deactivated, and b) i realised there was reader insert fanfiction for said fandom, but not enough featuring the person that i liked the most, so i started writing. i'd never written x reader before then.

before that, as i said, i had a fandom blog. it was the one i used to join rp groups on tumblr, which was fun until it wasn't. and i realised that i was going through a cycle of finding a new group, enjoying their company, having major drama ensue, and eventually instead of just moving to another rp group to see the same thing happen over n over again, i just deactivated entirely. i miss rp-ing, but also i wouldn't go back to it at the age of 29

Is there something you regret doing: i have a lot of things that i have learned from, and i regret the fact that actions i've made have hurt people, always inadvertently, but still. i wish that the things that helped me to grow weren't at the expense of other people feeling bad about something in regard to me, but i don't think that constitutes regret.

being autistic, a lot of the time, people seem to just drop me out of seemingly nowhere. and my irl bestie does tell me that a lot of the people i end up befriending, are people she gets a bad vibe from or doesn't really trust, and they're always the ones who don't stick around. but i do feel as though i must be accountable, too, and i know and understand that nobody owes me an explanation if i have done something that warrants them no longer wanting me in their life, but also, how do i know what i need to do to salvage important relationships to me if they don't think it important enough to tell me? that's why i'm a big advocate that your friends should not be your 100% hype men. if they are, i don't trust them. i need people to call me out on my shit and tell me if i'm doing something wrong, or going too far. and i need to feel like i can do the same with them, without them getting offended. it's for both of our benefits

fool - djo: as previously mentioned, am autistic. i got myself diagnosed at 20, and everything suddenly made sense. my mum refused to accept it, told me that everybody's a little on the spectrum, that i only think i am bc i've looked it up and aligned myself with the traits. i learned at 28 that actually, i've had a diagnosis since i was 4. mum just never ever did anything to help me. not when i was going through school wanting to **** ****** bc i knew i was the "weird kid" but i didn't know what made me so weird that everyone ganged up on me so i didn't know how to fix it. turns out i couldn't. i could have gotten more support, but i didn't. and even now that they know i know about the og diagnosis, my parents refuse to acknowledge it. for years, they would scold and bully me away from behaviours that were actually just me stimming, and merely existing as an autistic kid. so i have to put on a persona for them, i have to be their "fool" to appease them rather than just getting to be my authentic, autistic self like i can be around my friends

Any tv shows you watching: i'm rewatching stranger things bc gifmaking has ruined my perception of the actual timeline of events. i'm actively watching the afterparty s2 and only murders in the building s3. it's not really a tv show, but i watch it on my tv, dimension 20's current campaign, mentopolis, is also something i'm actively keeping up with, on top of all actively releasing dropout content

What movie did you last watch: the last movies i put on were the mamma mia films, as background while i wrote, and ever since i've been slowly cooking a mamma mia stranger things au bc i'm basically incapable of consuming any media without relating it to stranger things at this point. i can relate each of the 3 canon characters to eddie, steve and jonathan, but i can't shake the idea that like. what if argyle was one of the potential dads. it wouldn't be a direct parody bc he's so different from any other character in the mamma mia franchise but i think it would be so fun to include him, too

Last thing you read(book, fanfic, etc): i'm reading rebel robin, atm, bc idk why i never really thought to indulge in the stranger things books before now? i used to read doctor who books so it's not like i'm a stranger to consuming media outside of its original format. i'm also currently reading through @pearlypairings' photocheer fic there is a light that never goes out!

this is a tricky one cause i think you can only really have this if you're writing a multichaptered fic. which i don't do very much! but... yes. back when i was still working on dr54 (the full title is too long lmao) there were a few people who threw some theories that were correct. i can't remember them off the top of my head, nor do i want to list them because of spoilers (it's on hiatus but i hope to return someday!! my dear ocs i love you) but they got me SCREAMING to skep in dms ;v;

on another note... if you're posting to ao3 and are hoping to get some people reading your works: don't self-deprecate (don't say stuff like "this fic sucks" or "idk how to do a summary" because people will NOT read out of pity), don't overtag, make sure to have proper spacing between your paragraphs (a lot of people are willing to overlook simple errors as long as it's readable, aka the spacing), and... i think that's about it, really. if you need help with ao3 posting, tbh just hit me up off-anon and i can help (<- has helped friends before with it).

a long thing about fanfiction writing and my future spidey fic specifically

so i watched some tasm content on youtube, just to get some *vague gestures* you know for the plot of the fic

and it's...

questionable

the plot and pacing and decisions that these writers made are extremely questionable.

(I really loved the rewrite from troyoboyo17 on youtube! don't always agree with him but he did a great job with his TASM rewrite so I would recommend checking out his channel. Very well-spoken and funny guy.)

anyway I wanted to say that what I'm planning has Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in mind, with a few keypoints to his plot that I will keep, but overall his story might change drastically

Obviously it would have anyway, since we're introducing very new concepts and characters to his story, but the difference is clear :

I'm not just inserting my characters and plot into his movies and making the appropriate changes according to that. No.

This is simply a project where the spider-man and the peter parker I want to write about is just fundamentally the same as Andrew Garfield's. Gwen Stacy is also included in this, as my issues don't lie with her, her character or her chemistry with Pete, but some elements will definitely have to go, and there are some things I want to explore with her too.

Sorry for the long post! I know that not many people are interested or will read for now, but just in case some people stumble across my account and are curious about this project I'm starting, it's an important disclaimer I have to make!

so here it is :

THIS IS NOT A FANFIC IN THE WEBB-VERSE. THIS IS A FANFIC ABOUT ANDREW'S PETER AND SPIDER-MAN.

As for the reader/oc that I'm still working on, the decision is tough but I think I'll make it into an OC. Obviously it makes my job easier, but there are also a few things I want to talk about :

Reading xreader fanfics, for me, a person who is VERY different from the usual target demographic of these, is difficult. I have a lot of trouble seeing myself anywhere or identifying to anyone in media and fiction, wether that's about appearance, gender, ethnicity, or deeper issues i have to deal with and general inner workings of the mind

I get frustrated easily scowering Ao3 and Tumblr tags for something that might be a little like me, but it's... difficult. And hasn't happened yet. I have never found anything that fits me or makes me feel included in any way, because there's always an important detail that sticks out and "ruins it"

And by writing about a character in my head that would not apply to everyone, I feel almost selfish because I feel like I'm closing the door to an opportunity to make everyone feel included. So I feel genuinely sorry. And I know that it's impossible to have a character that everyone identifies with in all aspects, because it would just be a blank slate and there wouldn't be a story to tell, but I still feel sorry in some way.

So yes, this will be about an afab oc, and there are aspects of their personality and character that I'm already sure of, so that's that.

I talked at first about a gender-neutral reader spider-person fic but that's easier to achieve on a smaller scale, like in ficlets or headcanons and whatnot

And why I wanted to do that originally is because I read murdock fanfics for example, works like "Bound By Law" by @1rsoldiersince2012 , or "Chaos Broke The Devil" by @lunarrule on AO3 or even obviously OBVIOUSLY @pastafossa's The Red Thread that i've mentioned before,

they're all WONDERFUL AND AMAZING AND YES I'M ALSO TAKING AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHOUT THEM OUT

but these three fics are still centered around a mostly original character that you can IMAGINE as yourself. And because the people that want to read matt murdock fics are USUALLY MOSTLY women, it's normal that this "y/n" ends up a woman

so ofc, as you can guess, and because the DD fanfic land is so small and petite and skinny and small, there is no long, plot-centric x reader fanfiction that is ready to commit and explore the consequences involved with choosing a "reader" that isn't just some skinny woman.

And, I think, it's maybe also because Involving more diversity would also mean talk about these issues without which it'd feel unnatural. For example, it is a little weird to read stranger things fanfictions where "reader" is trans or nb or something, and as soon as they meet everybody they all are accepting and use the proper pronouns and it doesn't have consequences on social or family life within the 80s little small town world that is Stranger Things

But talking about that is tricky too. You wouldn't want people going through discrimination or exclusion or any kind of familial or social issues to have to endure that in their safe place too. Fandom, and fanfiction especially, is an escape. It's self-indulgent, and wonderful, and probably not realistic (at all...)

i mean come on. it's alternate realities, vampires, wizards and superheroes and whatever. come on.

but still, accurate representation is important too, maybe even more than complete escapism? Maybe it depends on the person.

(I'm the kind of reader that gets jealous and frustrated when it's too soft or too happy or too perfect in fanfiction, but maybe that's exactly what someone else needs??)

ugh.

This whole issue is complicated. For some reason I wanted to get it all out, I needed some kind of vessel for my thoughts.

so

to sum up the important parts :

- my fanfic (maybe will include some artwork and comic strips) will be about andrew's spidey but not the webb-verse

- the main character will be afab, but I will, because I can't help it, include tidbits about queerness and stuff

- I'm sorry to everyone who will be a little dissapointed, like I am sometimes with other fandoms, that this won't be an xreader fic they can transpose themselves onto, or at least not a blank slate of one
