no like really even without the timeline context of when it leaked Hand of God is so incredibly messed up like???? FOB's always been good at public indictments of the way they've been treated, that's like, a significant amount of their discography especially prehiatus and ESPECIALLY Cork Tree which does it very bitterly and sardonically but Hand of God feels like it takes it a step farther with "which is it, the boy who writes the songs or the boy who's in them?" because like YES there is more than one way to interpret that and I'm cool with that but it's doing a massive disservice to FOB and to Pete's writing to skim over the point within the larger whole of the song that they are one and the same. the boy who writes the songs IS the one who's in them, that's been true for most of Fall Out Boy's career. they're SUPER vulnerable in their songwriting, even when it's sarcastic and tongue in cheek, there's always a piece of truth in it. they wrote an entire fricking song about Pete's suicide attempt. the boy who writes the songs has always been the one who's in them, this isn't mutually exclusive. and Hand of God is IMMENSELY self-referential. it's literally Pete writing about himself. "who's the girl, is this truth, or is he writing fiction?" were all questions asked repeatedly on their forums and in Q&As with Pete.

"I am the worst liar I know" coming from the song that is possibly the most raw, honest draft or demo from Cork Tree — which also contains lyrics such as "we're only liars, but we're the best" (tongue in cheek turnaround of criticisms against the band) and "you only hold me up like this because you don't know who I really am" and "if you say this makes you happy then I'm not the only one lying" and "it's just a matter of time until we're all found out" and "I'll keep singing this lie if you keep believing it" (in a song that was essentially the band's mission statement, for lack of a better term) and "the record won't stop skipping and the lies just won't stop slipping and besides my reputation's on the line" (in a song that Pete himself said was way too personal to play live and has also said was the first half of a story that Hum Hallelujah, which is explicitly about his suicide attempt, later completed) and "I went to sleep a poet and woke up a fraud" (Music or the Misery is on a different edition but the point still stands) and "I keep telling myself I'm not the desperate type" (in a song titled sarcastically after the medication Pete overdosed on) — is fricking insane. there's a completely unfiltered, untwisted-into-sarcasm honesty in Hand of God and even though it (rightfully, because it would have been Too Much) didn't make it onto the final album, it functions as as much of a thesis statement as Sophomore Slump does. it functions as as much of a confessional as Dark Alley. Hand of God is at the heart of Cork Tree, practically haunting it, and it isn't even on the album.

¡My Relationships Dinamics Between the Mercenaries!

¡Hello guys! (⁠◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍⁠)⁠❤ Today i'm coming to show you how I will use the relationships in my drawings and comics.

Little reminder that English is not my matern leguangue, probably I make a lot of mistakes in my writing. I'm sorry if that happen (⁠•⁠ ⁠▽⁠ ⁠•⁠;⁠)

Well, this part is not much better than the two combined... (It's all Spy fault, nah i'm joking xD)

Well, let me explain some things:

First of all: Medic and Sniper have a crush for each other... ¡And Spy have a crush with Sniper! And Spy and Medic hate each other for reasons, of course, the most important one is Sniper's love xD I'm sorry but two sexy veterans fighting for a inexpert Aussie is just perfect and fun for me (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠) (even if Sniper send Spy very badly to the friendzone unintentionally ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ)

The "like family" one means they see each other like a family member, for example, Sniper and Scout are like big and lil' brother; or Engie and Pyro like father and son. I love the idea of Sniper beign a good figure who Scout admires and respect (even if he doesn't want to admite it) And Pyro sees that parent figure in Engie, who cares a lot for he and of course the team! For me Engie is one of the most responsible merc and always tries to calm down the situation when things get bad... And he's friend with everyone in the team! Except Spy... But then we'll talk about Engie...

The trio of nightmares... Scout, Soldier and Pyro. This three bastards hang out to play tricks to the people. Sometimes, You can see them at 03:00 am trhowing eggs to the BLU Team's windows or letting free a group of mutant bread in the base... You never know what they'll do next... Also, Demo and Sniper are friends. They're more like, friends who met up for a few beers with Engie.

The difference between "Annoying, but still a friend" and "Annoying" is, as this one says, they think it's annoying sometimes, but they can handle that. For example, Medic, who sometimes can't stand Scout's attitude and vice versa, but inside they can't really be mad at each other (especially if he's your older brother's boyfriend(?) Same with Demo and again, Scout, but it's just for the Demo side, Scout considers him as a friend. With Sniper and Spy it's like, Sniper thinks Spy can be very rude, but deep down he knows that's the way Spy communicates. I don't know how to explain this lmao.

The Best Friends! Let's back with Engie! He's the Best Friend of Sniper and Medic, so, sometimes he help this two silly lovebirds to make a move! Like, giving some advices to Medic or telling Sniper about Medic's hints! Idk I like that they share the same best friend. Heavy is Medic's best friend of course, they like spend time talking and our Doctor looves to talk with Heavy about how he feels about Sniper, and the weapons guy just think it's adorable and want to help his pal! So, as Engie, he tried to give to Doctor some advices! Finally, but no less important, we have Soldier and Demoman! They are besties... And maybe, Soldier get little jealous with Demo 'cause he spends time with the enemy Soldier and he doesn't want to lost his bestie... But if he knew the reason for that...

Spy's relationships... Yeah, this will take a long time... Anyway, Spy doesn't have a good relation with his team... Except for Sniper, but that just happened after a discussion with Medic, before that they don't talk to each other and Spy has a very bad vision of the bushman. He respects Heavy and Engie, he believes these are the only two mercs who are still sane, but they aren't friends... Spy doesn't spend time with the team, he thinks all are annoying... And he hates Pyro for reasons I can't explain now (⁠◠⁠‿⁠◕⁠) and the team thinks Spy is annoying 'cause he's attitude towards them. The relation with Medic is bad for the differents opinions, ideas and estrategy they have... But of course de most important one is Sniper! After Spy found that thing that makes Sniper soo interesting to him, he want to stay with the bushman more time (inviting him to a smoke break, or helping him to cook and giving him some pointers on that!) And, well, Medic start to see these tiny things like "oh, no no, find another yourself, this is taken ರ⁠╭⁠╮⁠ರ" and then they start fighting and nobody, even Sniper, understands what's going on xD I'm not a fan of love triangles but Damm the amount of ideas I have with these trhee!! I can't, sorry (⁠ᗒ⁠ᗩ⁠ᗕ⁠)!!

Scout retains the love interest in Miss Pauling and Soldier (RED) is still in a relationship with Zhanna. This is not important, but I wanted to clarify...

And of course, as I mentioned with the case of Spy, most of the relations are not like this for now. I want to make comics or drawings exploring this dynamics (⁠ ⁠◜⁠‿⁠◝⁠ ⁠)⁠♡

The BLU Team has their own relations too! But I not gonna explore that for now... It's a surprise (⁠~⁠￣⁠³⁠￣⁠)⁠~

Oh, almost forgot to tell this won't afect the requests, at least the ppl who make them want it.

Finally, all relationships are just my vision for my comics and drawings and I don't consider any of these things "Canon" (at least the ones that are not confirmed).

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure this painting is haunted (SM64 Theory)

What a God awful thing to have in your basement. But let's wind back and talk about why this thing is so out of pocket.

So in Super Mario 64, we control Mario as he goes to princess peach's castle only to find out she has been kidnapped by Bowser, and he has hidden the 120 power stars in a bunch of paintings. The thing is, as the years have gone by, it has been pretty much implied that the castle from super Mario 64 is NOT princess peach's real castle, and it's instead it's just a private art gallery she has because OF COURSE SHE WOULD HAVE A WHOLE ASS CASTLE THE SIZE OF AN IKEA JUST FOR EFFING PAINTINGS ONLY SHE GETS TO SEE. In any case, most of these paintings have been turned to portals that lead to the places depicted inside of them, or something.

See, the thing about the game is that not only do some paintings send you to different worlds. Pretty much everything and anything can do that if Bowser's right testicle told him to do it at the time. What i mean by that is that there are a LOT of things that are not paintings, but still contain levels.

The first time we interact with such an instance is on "Bowser in the Dark World", where i shit you not, you fight Bowser in the Dark world.

This level is accessible by being swindled by a literal fucking painting, only to have the literal floor pulled from under you. This, as you might imagine, is not a painting, but rather a black void that somehow contains the level. Cool. What does this mean? let's keep looking at more examples and then schizo out come out with an explanation.

The next time we find something like this, depending on how you play the game, will be at either big boo's mansion, or at the water moat level. We might touch on those on a later post, but for now, let's just head to the basement and see just how non-painting centered the whole thing is.

So the first level you can access (besides lethal laval land) is a hidden level under the name "Shifting sand land."

You can make the argument that this level counts as a painting. And depending on who you ask, you might be correct. Slight issue, though.

Pictured above: The beautiful painting of shifting sand land, depicting all the people that have played this game and not punched air while trying to talk to toad. It might looked like a literal wall with nothing interesting, but that's because, save for the level it leads to, this wall is meant to look like any other wall.

The level is, in fact, not meant to look like a painting, but rather like a wall. This is because you are meant to chase mips around and dive into them, before accidentally face-planting into this wall, thus realizing it moves like a painting, and then going ' 0: ', because you just found a secret level.

In any case, this is a hint that this floor of the castle has an identity crisis and thinks it's cool to make everything levels. The next thing that is not a painting is this tech demo disguised as a subtle design element.

Pictured above: Mario jumps out of a septic tank like the turd he is. It's amazing how, despite jumping into human waste, he somehow comes out shinier than before. This has deep implications about Mario's personal hygiene.

Hazy maze cave is a weird fricking level that has you jump into something that looks like liquid mercury, has the same texture as the metal cap, and we all think is supposed to be a septic tank. This is because the room is surrounded by pipes, and the level itself contains both rolling rocks that have literally no explanation for existing (and only appear on this level, mind you), and it contains a whole maze filled with toxic gas that will kill Mario if you are either caught with low health courtesy of some real strong enemies, or are somehow stupid enough to just stand there and breath it in for too long (otherwise known as "being a game journalist").

In any case, we can laugh at the idea of funny feces on the funny nintendo game all we want, since it PROBABLY means nothing and it's not like we can schizo out find other similar things in the same floor, right?

Anyways, here's yet another similar thing in the same floor. If you are somehow skilled enough to play the game and get things done, you might eventually find yet another tech demo, this time colored blue to make it look like water.

Fine! Let's me steal someone else's picture instead. I'm too lazy to get there on my own anyways. you need, like, 30 (thirty) stars, a rabbit, or a very snappy finger to get it, and i don't feel like dealing with that nonsense.

ahem! This is dire dire docks. A level that only features a submarine dock on the last half of the level, and is not really dire under any metric. Why they named it that is beyond me. It's likely that this is supposed to represent the water supply of peaches castle, considering it's location near both the way out to the moat on the front of the castle, and of course, being right next to Bowser in the fire sea.

Picture above: Mario ponders what kind of hellish alternate reality he has wandered up in where the room containing both levels isn't the fancy schmancy room it normally is. You might say it's the game's personalization, but i think it's the guys at the wiki getting sloppy on their ploy to make SM64 look like a real game. YOU CAN'T FOOL US FOREVER! I KNOW IT'S JUST A REALLY, REALLY GOOD MOCK UP MADE IN PHOTOSHOP!

That is, the level named "Bowser in the fire sea". Why they named it that when it is not really a sea made of fire, but lava, and Bowser it's not really in the sea of lava is beyond me. It would have made sense to name it Bowser in the lava sea, or Bowser's super lava structure, or something. whatever. Anyways.

By looking at the little chimney thingy you have to jump into, we can infer that this actually part of the heating system, which would make sense to have in an art gallery, since paintings need special cares, including specific temperatures to avoid damage. It's also right next to the thing we established as the water supply, so it checks out.

Now, looking at all this, you might have noticed that there's something that sticks out like a sore thwomp. It's quite obvious that the castle's basement is supposed to be off limits to any and all visitors, and as such is kept under key so only authorized personnel can come to do repairs and such. Now, with this in mind, tell me, WHY THE F U C K IS THIS HERE?

Like, hello?? this thing has a little stage to itself, two torches to keep it bright, and it's the only real painting in the whole basement! (fuck you shifting sand lands. more like shitting sand lands ammairait? jk, love you baby gurl ❤)

It's almost like it's meant to be unseen! like it was... vanished.

Think about it! The first floor of the castle (main entrance) seems to contain paintings of historical significance:

Bob-omb battlefield probably depicts some kind of big war that took place.

Cool cool mountain depicts a cool cool mountain... three times, so it's probably important.

Whomp's fortress has an enemy fortress or something of the kind.

Jolly roger bay has some kind of important port that used to have a big-ass ship on it. Not to mention they literally have a whole aquarium with live fishes next to the painting, so it's definitely important.

The room that has the trap probably is supposed to be a room containing all previous rulers of the mushroom kingdom, but Bowser probably fiddled with it to turn it into a trap, (which, by the way, in the old footage of the game, it was meant to cry out for Mario with peach's voice, which means that it was most definitely tampered with by Bowser even more heavily than all the other rooms)

and the room with the stained glasses also probably has some kind of other relevance under normal circumstances. Probably a secret escape route as some people theorize, though i think the way out to the moat through the basement seems to fit this use better, in my opinion.

Also, the top floor is most likely either the main attraction or something of the kind, since it has all the more eccentric exhibits, such as the mirror room, the tiny huge island room, and the clock room, which is yet another floor, mind you.

So, back to Lethal lava land, why the hell would that painting just be down here? as is? for no reason!? because it's haunted, or too scary to display. It probably gives peach the creeps, at the very least. I mean, hell, where would you even display that to begin with?

Seriously! this thing has a damn Mr. I in the level! those things are associated with haunted or cursed levels!

So yeah, i think this thing is haunted and was left down there to rot. never to see the light of day again. What do you think?

I Am Unreasonably Hyped For This Game

What the heck They did it, they made peak THIS WAS ANNOUNCED A FUCKING MONTH AGO AND YET I SOMEHOW DIDN'T HEAR ABOUT IT UNTIL LAST NIGHT I HATE HOW NONEXISTENT THE MARKETING FOR THIS SERIES IS I am like actually frothing at the mouth at this announcement, absolutely feral.

This series has by far one of my favorite soundtracks in any video game and the fact that they didn't make a rhythm game out of it 8 years ago is criminal and the creators deserve to be locked up in solitary confinement for the rest of their lives for not making it sooner. But they also deserve to be let out and also given 1 billion money coins and a free pass to be allowed to commit any crimes ever for finally making it now!

I refuse to look at the actual song list because I know that I'll be disappointed because there's no way they included even close to all like 80 vocal songs throughout the entire series, but like if they don't have A Zip to the Moon I'll cry, really. A Zip to the Moon is the only thing that could truly make me believe in a god.

It'd also be cool if they added the Lola versions of every Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 song but they won't because the god of A Zip to the Moon hates me :(

If there is a SINGLE Luminous Avenger iX song my face will go from :) to :( INSTANTLY, and then it'll go back to :) when I see A Zip to the Moon because it'll be there, surely! They took away her robot voice she sounds like shit bring back bootleg Hatsune Miku!

I'm sure it's gonna have like, all of the Gunvolt 3 songs because it's the newest one, so very excited to hear 90% of that game's soundtrack for the first time, not in the game that they originated from because I still have not played 3 beyond the demo despite it releasing over a year ago. But like the two songs from it that I have heard are really good so I'm sure the rest is too, Ergo Sum and Glass Paradise are both pretty cool.

Whoever made the decision to release Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 on the same day as both Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Digimon Survive is a psychopath and my worst enemy.

For funsies they should also add like 1 Mega Man Zero song just as like a little reference to their past works, y'know some games do that they could do that there wouldn't be any rights issues or anything please I just want Innocence from Mega Man ZX to exist again it's like the A Zip to the Moon of Mega Man Zero it's so good please Mr. Inti Creates I'll stop calling you a psychopath I promise.

I can't wait for this game to just be a shitty Persona 3/5 Dancing tier cash-grab rhythm game with only like 10 of the worst songs from the entire series that costs $50 and kills the series because it didn't sell well enough.

Removing the mechanic from the final boss of 2 where you had to sing into the 3DS microphone (or just blow into the mic) in the Steam version was the worst thing that happened since capitalism. Like yea they couldn't really realistically implemented it without like, requiring you to have a mic hooked up for literally one 30 second portion of the final boss but like, I'm still mad >:C

Even the power relationship (something you can see better with Adonis) are very chinese oriented lul (i must confess, this kinda relationship, when one person can play whatever they wanted with the protagonist, and when they bored throw it away, being the only hope of the protagonist to make them fall in love with them makes me sad and frustrated, is like, Adonis, SPOILER in the original novel you take the Mc and abandoned them cause it was a pain to protect them, i mean, its kinda stupid to want Adonis to help Mc when it is say they didnt hace a strong relation, and that part is something which have a lot of sense, but on another hand, it makes me want to inverse the roles and be Mc who f*** Adonis up for being a jerk who loves bother mc (idk if i explain myself good enough xd damn you english for not being my native language) all of this makes me wonder something, this story will follow the traditional Chinese way where if Mc needs the support of the Ro since the start, will need them until the end (more static relationship, if, for example, Adonis have a power advantage where he clearly doesn't see MC as an equal, will he continue in that way (condescending) even when in a relationship? Or can MC have a more proactive approach to their Ro?being more defensive (not in the cute little rabbit way? Just curiosity)

I'm glad my writing style seems chinese novel translation-esque! I was aiming for that. I've read too many Chinese novels in the last year honestly so it definitely affected with my writing style.

In the future, after hanging out with Adonis, even without romancing him and just plain befriending him, he will definitely see the MC as more of an equal. I would bonk him on the head if he still acts like that haha. The MC can also be more proactive in regards to their RO. If we're talking about defensive though, I'm not sure about that honestly. I'll just see if I can fit it in future chapters.

In regards to the usual Chinese novel trope of the MC needing the support of the ROs until the end, it will be the reader's choice whether they will use the help of the ROs. The MC can counterattack Narcissus using their own means (although it wouldn't be too extreme given that their status is not that high) or ask for help from the one of the ROs (who could be either their friend or partner).

It's 2 AM but I'm rewatching Mafumafu's Hikikomori demo LIVE ga Shitai! Super Mafumafu World 2021 @Tokyo Dome.

I'm not gonna make it long because I actually still struggling to put my feelings into words, but if this turns out to be an "essay" then so be it. I mean it's past midnight. what's wrong that, right?

So, I was enjoying the vod when Mafu sung Punishment Game in minutes I-forgot-but-someone-make-a-timestamp-of-all-the-tracklist-in-the-comment-section-so-please-check-it-out, and I have to pause the video (you can literally see it in the image above). It is the third song he sung in the concert. The thing is, the lyrics of Punishment Game really speaks to me.

A little story time, growing up, I experienced some unpleasant treatments from my surrounding and peers at school. I only realize it again today that what I had to go through back then was so fucked up. I won't go into details but it went along the lines of me, oblivious of my own feelings, masquerading as that "I'm okay" kid every time someone say sht about me, slandering me that I was being a "troublemaker" at school and a girl who pretends to be sick all the time.

Truth to be told, I am actually, like seriously, sick. Both physically and mentally. It is not a serious illness, back then, I'm too scared to ask my parents to go to the hospital and have a check-up or something (maybe that's why those people slander me out of it), but I fainted, lose appetite, got severe headache and stomachache several times back then because of it. I can even brainwashed myself to be sick if I don't wanna go to school, and yes, it works, I really fell ill just by continuously saying to myself in my head that I'm sick. I'm that powerful back then.

I never really labeled any negative emotion specifically, I always named them as "I'm sad, I'm tired, I wanna sleep, I don't like this" then called it a day and never elaborate further. I'm that oblivious as a kid. The worse part is I am a people's pleaser, my circle of friends (not really actually cause I only have like 1 deskmate and 3 other "kinda close friends" back then lol) were all only talk to me at some points like when we have something to discuss or when we met, tbh not all the time too, so I never share any of my personal problems with them or even anyone, not even my family. I feel so overwhelmed back then, but had to always put my clown mask because sadly that's how people expected me to be.

Moving on to another little story time, I first knew about Mafumafu around 2016 on youtube. Vocaloid brought me to one of his video cover and then after that I learn the existence of utaite and him expeciallly. His original songs, Berserk, No Entry, and Punishment Game, if they were a person, splashed cold water to my face then fricking yelled "Ha! You understand me, huh!?" like, I was so shocked back then about how depressing and sad his songs sound like, and the most important part was that I CAN RELATE TO THEM TO SOME EXTENT LIKE HELLO!??? WHY DO I FEEL LIKE I'M BEING CALLED OUT!???

That's why when I come upon Mafu's music, I feel weirdly connected to the lyrics, although not like words-to-words but like it clicked something in my head that what I've been doing is wrong. I then realized that what I've been through are actually messed up because it makes me throw away my emotion and never really listen to myself. For the first time ever, I boldly say to myself "yes, I'm sad because people are so annoying to me. I don't deserve such treatments, I deserve better, I'm not perfect as a human, but if my heart says that I am hurt, then I'm hurt".

"I hate everyone"

Those three strong sentences woke me up from my slumber, they awoken my "Hey, it's now time for you to learn about yourself, bish" personality. I then begin to little by little throw away my oblivious-kid personality and embrace the new personality that I got, even though, sadly I am still a people's pleaser (even until today lmao). I start to name my emotion, with an elaboration of course.

"I feel sick in my stomach because that mothertrucker is a fricking assh*le for slandering me, I don't fricking deserve that. I did nothing wrong. I was just feeling overwhelmed by all the pressure I got from my family and society that literally dictate and criticize me as a kid. I fricking hate this sht, and I am not wrong for feeling so. I am human. It's normal to feel disappointed. I am wrong for thinking badly about everyone but you guys did worse because you fricking practice and voice it out and say sht about it to me personally instead of keeping it just to yourself. you are being rude. I may not be kind inside but at least I'm not openly saying sht and bullying people just to make me feel better about myself".

Quotation above is one of the sample as to how I label my feeling when that certain memories being played up in my head. It may be nothing extraordinary or worth of praise but I'm proud that I've reached that level of understanding of myself and become better at putting my feelings into words.

On another note, after I learnt that Mafumafu was bullied in his past, I cried. I feel like I can also feel his pain when he sung. I can really relate to his scream in his song, because at some points, we are similar as someone who is the victim in bullying. As someone who had been mentally abused. My experience may be trivial to what he had gone through, and I can only relate to some of the lyrics that fit my situation and not the whole lyrics of the song, but I'm still thankful. I feel like he sung his pain out for me too, he screamed for me, he speaks for me too in his music. I feel included, not alone like how I used to.

Mafumafu's songs are powerful to me personally. His song influenced me as a person. For the first time in my life, I understand that I am just a human who are not perfect, and should never aim to become perfect. I realized that I don't have to always live up to people's expectations, that I just have to set my own expectations.

Berserk, No Entry, and Punishment Game teach me how to become myself and accept my pain. I'm not exaggerating at all. For me, at least that's where I start to walk the path which has shaped me as the present me. a grown up woman who finally understand a bit better of why she had to go through such sacrilegious treatments from her surrounding peers. That is, to become the better version of my old self.

Finally, I am happy to say that the grown up clown has now reach that certain level in which she would always gives no sht to any fucked-up treatments she received in her life, and definitely see herself out off any unnecessary emotion-draining nonsense situations that isn't even worth a second of her precious time.

Thank you Mafumafu for existing and for sharing your music to the world.

You helped me become a better version of myself.

And I'm so thankful that I can't put it into words.

Behind The Album: Lulu

In 2011, Metallica in collaboration with Lou Reed released an album entitled Lulu. Depending upon who you ask, this may not be categorized as an official studio album released by the band, Yet, for those that do, a majority of fans believe the record to be an absolute failure. This title would represent the last major release from the legendary Reed. The idea to work together had come about because they had performed with him at the 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show. They worked on the project from May to June 2011, but Kirk Hammett made it clear that this should not be called an official record. The original intention was for Metallica to re-record old demos by Reed that had never been released. Yet, they soon decided to record a group of songs he had written based on two German plays by Frank Wedikind. David Fricke of Rolling Stone described early demos of the collaboration as the union of Master of Puppets and Reed’s 1973 noir album, Berlin. Upon its release, most critics were nowhere near as kind as Fricke. The recording process between Lou Reed and Metallica did not go very smoothly at all. Lars Ulrich would say that at one point the rock legend challenged the drummer to a fight.

The critics did not enjoy Lulu all that much. The record has received a score of 45 out of 100 on Metacritic, which combines together all the reviews for a particular release. Pitchfork gave the album one out of 10 stars. “Lulu is a frustratingly noble failure. Audacious to the extreme, but exhaustingly tedious as a result, its few interesting ideas are stretched out beyond the point of utility and pounded into submission." Rock writer Chuck Klosterman had this dig to say about the record. “If the Red Hot Chili Peppers acoustically covered the 12 worst Primus songs for Starbucks, it would still be (slightly) better than this." Julian Marszalek of The Quietus gave this charming comment about it. “The effect is that of Lou Reed ranting over some Metallica demos that were never intended for human consumption." He would go on to say that time spent watching grass grow would have been better than listening to this. Don Kaye writing for blabbermouth.net said this about the collaboration. “Lulu is a catastrophic failure on almost every level, a project that could quite possibly do irreparable harm to Metallica's career." For his part, Kaye had previously defended the band for their less than ideal effort on St. Anger. Not all reviews claimed that no one should listen to this release. New Musical Express gave it seven out of 10 stars, while The Telegraph gave the project three out of five stars. The Wire named it number nine for their critics year end poll. Jennifer Lucy Allen would go on to comment about it. “Ultimately, the reaction to it is a testament to Lou Reed's ability to still get up the noses and under the skin of even the most open-minded listeners. He's probably laughing his head off at it all this very minute." James Murphy of LCD Sound System had this intriguing tidbit to share after the death of Lou Reed. David Bowie had told him that in his opinion Lulu was some of the greatest work ever done by Reed. “People are making a snap judgment and they aren't listening."

Lou Reed would say that some Metallica fans threatened to shoot him due to Lulu. In an interview, the singer would say this, “I don't have any fans left. After Metal Machine Music, they all fled. Who cares? I'm essentially in this for the fun of it." Lars Ulrich would comment that he really was not all that surprised by the reaction because the drummer recalled how the heavy metal community went crazy after the release of ballad “Fade To Black” in 1984. He would also go on to say that Lou Reed’s poetry is not for everyone. James Hetfield said that people were simply scared of Metallica doing something so experimental. Robert Trujillo said that no matter how someone feels about the album, the band enjoyed making it embracing everything about it. As for commercially, the record did land at number 36 for the first week of its release on the Billboard charts. This became the first charting album from Reed since 1974.

I am so fricking happy that I found this fic. Oh my gosh, wait, it was so, so, so, so awesome!!!!!!! I don't where to start!! And it's only the first chapter??!?!?!

I didn't know what I was getting into when I started reading. I didn't know how the reader and Eddie would meet, I didn't know what the reader was going to be up against, I didn't even know what the tone of the fic was going to be. All I knew was that the reader was from the future.

Right from the opening scene, you drop the audience into this mode of panic and science fiction. It's like this is a part of the show they haven't shown us before, how did you freaking do that?? It was so well done! There is this chaos and turmoil all around the reader and her father-figure is dying in her arms and we haven't even cracked the surface of this chapter. Then you created this amazingly heartbreaking moment between the reader and her father while describing the absolute terror facing her. It was so sad! Reading that gut-wrenching scene, knowing that she won't have time to grieve her loss. And I was so surprised at how deeply I felt about this man dying and I don't even know him. You convey their relationship and just how tragic his death is in such a short of amount of time and it's so unnervingly realistic.

By the first couple of paragraphs I am completely in engrossed in the future world you've created, all the terms and descriptions of everything. It's all so visceral. But then we learn that the reader is on a mission of some sort and I feel super hyped up! I was legit smiling so hard at this fic having a badass reader. It's something I never even knew I needed.

Before I get ahead of myself though I wanted to really commend you on the characterization of the reader. Because she is like, the most badass person, most relatable, most heroic person in a span of a few short paragraphs. What really solidified her badassery for me was this line -

"A part of you wanted to argue with him, to beg him to get up. But the alarms were screaming, red and yellow lights flashing through the bunker, the sounds of gunfire and screams filling the air."

Like are you kidding me!! Oh my gosh, my mind was just blown to smithereens. There's so much to unpack within this one line! The reader's stubbornness to leave someone she loves, her desperation to save her father, all of her anguish backdropped by the present moment of chaos and how she has to literally push her feelings aside and remember the stakes. So much great writing and I still hadn't even gotten to the thick of it!

And don't think I wasn't going to bring up this sentence:

"...only twenty four years and carrying the weight of the eternity on your shoulders."

I applaud you, dear writer. Once I read that I just stopped and looked at my phone with a blank stare because I couldn't believe I had read something so legendary. I'm not kidding, it was that good. That is how you cement inner conflict. That is how you define the dire situation the reader is currently in. That is how you get me rooting for this character and hoping she gets to experience peace.

And once her father died, just like the reader it felt like I couldn't take a breath either because we are whisked away with this palpable urgency to get the reader to where she needs to be.

The poor girl has gone through the worst but then she gets transported into another fight, and while reading her saving Eddie from the bats I was captivated by how you reframed the perspective of that iconic scene. No longer are we seeing the demon bats from Eddie and Dustin's perspective, we are now viewing it from the perspective of someone who was fucking trained to deal with them?!?!?!!! The way she doesn't even think about it, she just fights them like they are light work.

Class 1 Flyers?! You are so freaking creative!! I was so blown away by how well you were able to describe them demo-bats as this entity that the reader has already had previous knowledge of and has clearly been trained to handle them.

"... and for whatever reason, these two were here. And chasing them."

I cackled. That line was so funny to me.

Oh, but the scene where she shows up and saves Eddie from the bats and he is just in awe of her thinking she's a goddess that God sent down to save him.........................

I nearly shed a goddamn tear. It was too much. Way too much that I was not ready for, I swear.

Along with my growing adoration for the reader was my complete meltdown over Eddie's character. How. Did. You. Do. It?!?!? How did you encapsulate his character so well???

This. Line.

"I dunno, dude, best rock concert of all time doesn't mean anything if the world isn't around to appreciate it!"

Did you freaking sit down with Eddie Munson himself, ask him why he went back to fight the bats, and write down his exact words?!?! Tell me the truth!

And then you wanted to break my heart with that whole moment going over Eddie's thought process before the gang went into the Upside Down. Showing how he accepted that he may not make it out alive and came to the conclusion that he would make sure the others survived. I accept this more than accept canon. So much more. To the point where this version, your version of Eddie's sacrifice is as good as canon to me. Because doing anything he can to save people, like him taking in the rejects of high school and providing them a safe space, is perfectly in line with Eddie's character.

I am in love with this story so much, and I can't wait to see where you go with it. I am so excited!!

Onward Through the Upside Down (Eddie Munson x Reader)

(I have a lot of feelings about Stranger Things. I love the show, and the older characters are ones I have always sort of gravitated towards. When Eddie cropped up in season 4, I fell in love, along with the rest of society. He is absolutely the boy I crushed on in high school and made bad choices with, so clearly I had to do a series with him. He's at least 20-21, so I felt like this worked well. Obviously, season 4 spoilers, but I take my liberties. If this takes off or goes well, I'll continue it for sure. So like and comment if it tickles your fancy. Alright here's my review of the Samsung Galaxy Folder-you can't get this phone  focusing piece of junk you can't get  this phone in North America it's I had  to order this from Japan this one I got  from my buddy because you fell in love  with my phone when I got it I got I've  had this for about I want to say Oh two  weeks now and I absolutely love it I  used to have an s8 before this but as  all s8 they're all round screened  and frankly that round curved screen  bull crap I really don't like it and I  don't like it because what happened to  my girlfriend's phone and why I'm at  this right now she dropped her essay and  it was Annek Otter box case a full Defender Series case dropped it from literally maybe two three feet in the air landed like this and fell the corner  of her S8 because the screen is curved  right there in this area was cracked  breath not cracked like shattered almost  like a puncture screen still works it's  just she didn't want to crack screen so  I priced out how much it would have been  a fixer s8 and that s8 they quoted me  close to $450 just to replace the screen  so I gave her my old s8 because I wanted  the folder to because I just I love flip  phones and this is an Android 6.1.

I believe operating system flip phone and  it is phenomenal so let's get into the  unboxing alright this is literally brand  new just got in the mail came from Japan  took three days to get here the shipment  FedEx I'll leave a link in the  description of one I ordered from the  seller I ordered twice and in both days  they were shipped and I received them in  three days  FedEx all right let's crack her open  here also I should point out that it was  shipped with a where is it I don't know  where it is hey it's a Yui you plug so  they ship it with an adapter a real  janky looking adapter that I would not  use on anything so I just throw that  away and use a micro USB all right this  is the phone kind of dirty out of the  box but yeah all right so. 

Look Brown off  that phone outcome on any time now  there should be all right this is the  phone how you get her  this thing is dual sim and micro SD I got  this little protective film on here I'm  not gonna open this up because just like  I said this is my friend's phone we'll  just use mine I'm just showing you no  boxing actually, you know what screw it  we'll put up some plastics already  literally coming off all right there it  is out of the box brand-new I have all  this protective plastic shipping film on  it so you know you don't scratch or  anything the back cover comes off raised  or guess you a piece of junk not over.

There I focus there Oh anyways it has right here you could pry up to install  your own battery one second here I'll  just all right okay that's the back open  you got your dual SIM card slots there  and your SD card slot and that's  pretty much it you have to put in your  own battery which who can remember last  time anyone's ever done that it's great I love it alright let's stick that back  back on there let's just focus on like so click click click make sure your heads not there all right you got your volume button no Bixby button which is frickin awesome. 

You got your the hell is that I don't  know what this is there's no button on  this side so all you got your volume buttons no headphone jack they do  include an adapter it's micro USB here for charging and your camera and your  flash and your speaker one the thing I don't like about this phone what I really don't care is when you open it and you have the camera going the cameras down  here so you have to point it like this  and it's horrible but yeah otherwise, it's a really good phone that's the gist  of it now let's open up the rest of the box containing all right all right you got  your Japanesey box there you got a pair of headphones which as I was these are micro USB headphones which is strange  but that's what it is we've got your EU plug that I don't know  what who would want to use that I'd just put mine in the closet you got your  battery and you got your micro USB cable so just like every other phone let's  just shove those in there real quick all  right  and that's it and now when you boot up  these phones for the first time you're  greeted with the typical Android operating system boot-up screen you know enter your Google information also make  sure you have your SIM card in the right way and yeah you'll boot up it'll be  greeted this is mine customized obviously but yeah the keyboard layout  live lights up and your screen it is touchscreen there you go say you can just like  regular Samsung or a regular Android and it's a dollar app swipe down here you can't see nothing because the  saturation is horrible you go to settings oh my gosh Mrs. Bennet poor well I'm gonna start shooting it in less light here just alright go down to about phone it is software information Android  7 focus a piece of junk shop these automatic folks and crap there we go  alright it is  Android 7.11 so yeah I will say when I  first, put it up this phone it started up  did all the fancy stuff and then during  the boot it actually updated to had a  Samsung update you got some buttons here on your keyboard, you got your messenger these are assignable.

By the way, this is  my text messaging more app which I use  Google boom boom this is my Whatsapp I have a set of Whatsapp what the hell  okay apparently now it's at the Google  what the is this go away  I don't want to do no Google Drive back up off steeped it Frick  and there you go alright I have that set  to Whatsapp back boom Whatsapp and this  is your camera obviously dancing that's  because my fingers in the way that's  your camera qualities alright I guess I  don't know I don't really use my phone  for a camera I use it for just regular  phone stuff see I'm not I don't have Facebook nor do I have any hardcore  text messaging craze or anything I just  use a phone for what it is a phone and  this is your dual micro SD card thing in  there this button so if you have two  micro SD cards you could the switch or  something I'm not too sure you got your  apps button to show you what apps are  currently running those at home in the  back and yeah your power your n  call answer call or you can just flip it  open flip the clothes which are extremely  gratifying being able to do that again  Bluetooth is a little bit iffy on here too but it works Wi-Fi I find something  very very annoying with the Wi-Fi on  this phone  whenever I closed my phone I was  connected there it was blues connected  to my Lawrence wife I closed my phone  and open it for a little while probably  won't do it now because it didn't do  fast enough it will disable Wi-Fi to  save battery life it'll automatically reconnect when you open it takes some  time like a couple seconds but it's just  annoying knowing that when my phone is  closed like this, I'm not connected to Wi-Fi even though I should be texting on  this the phone is you can either use the  on-screen a keyboard like a typical  Android device or you can use the  keyboard which I've been practicing a  lot because I prefer it that way so  let's just send a picture yeah I'm  trying to see how I can demo this on  here no no no no no no no --gel maybe have some notes now screw it anyway so it's pretty straightforward let's go to Chrome let's type in an address here so yeah this would be well its regular t9 everyone knows how t9 works you type in the letters the numbers corresponding to the fricken this crappy ass frickin no good.

Crappy never buy a Nokia camera there's Nikon camera they suck autofocus is absolute garbage please thank you  sakes  anyways t9 I like it  the backlit keyboard goes off after so  many seconds 10, I wish it would stay on  for as long she had this open but it  doesn't the closed-end open is the best  part I don't know what else really does  just say it's an Android flip phone it's  great I love it I love the fact that I'm  not gonna have to buy a case for this  because it's a flip phone there's no  screen out here it's just shiny metal  has a small LED right there right in  that area, I'll blink when you get messages it's a great phone I love it it's better than -8 and I'll probably  never be upgrading unless Samsung  eventually does release a folder 3 or  something but this is great and yeah  like I said it's a phone it does what it  needs to it's all people that are texting every five seconds of their life to respond the social media tweets and like that this wouldn't be the phone for them but frankly for me does the job great and I really don't even use it that much because I  have my tick watch and I do everything based off of my taste off of my tick watch so because I get my messages and everything I might pick watch from my phone so I can call from and everything but yeah so if you're looking for an Android flip phone and you dot on social media hardcore or any garbage like that you're just looking for a good saw a  decent phone for a good price these were  262 Canadian shipped with FedEx and it took three days to get and I think that is a really good price for what you're getting so yeah that's my quick little mash up review I guess you would be of the full samsung folder to get it while you can this beautiful phone the guy I had it from had a couple left available so yeah works on LTE networks in Canada I'm on TELUS works perfectly this is gonna be on local SaskTel or work perfectly they've told me any LTE  network so yeah have a good day.
