Okay with the awful cat poll, OP finally made a better apology but honestly I'm not fully on board with it. She still calls what she's done a "joke" even now which it absolutely isn't one. What she said about Jellie is still undeniably cruel and not even humorous in a dark comedy way. How is calling a dead cat lame and even being angry that the cat dared to die before your poll went up a joke? The only joke I could tell is a joke is her saying "I don't believe in democracy anymore because Nefarious Anglerfish is losing to Jellie" but even then, she didn't had to call Jellie lame and especially she didn't need to complain about how "the stupid cat had to die go and DIE" to make a joke. That was just done to be extra cruel, and again, if that's something that she genuinely finds funny then she really needs to reevaluate her sense of humor.
Besides this, she had chosen not to be specific about the cruel and tasteless "joke" that she has made about Jellie because she doesn't want to hurt more people over it which I'm still a little unconvinced by since I feel like it would be better to be clear about what had happened and apologize for the direct statements instead of just trying to delete and move on but either way it's better than her initial response to the matter. She could still had deleted the post, I just think she needed to be specific in her apology about what had been said.
With that being said, people had been nasty towards OP even sending death threats and harassment and although OP's actions should be criticized, going this far is unacceptable. You're not defending Jellie's honor by sending a random rude stranger hatred and death threats. In fact, it's absolutely vile to do anything like that at all.
Either way, I'll be posting both the original "joke" and her apology screenshots here and let people just come to their own conclusions. Hopefully this thing would just calm down after everything.
Original joke
OP's apology
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, anyone who had sent hate and death threats or is planning to send hate or death threats to OP are horrible people and I do not trust you nor do I think you actually care about Jellie. You're just being a dick and found an excuse to harm an easy target when you finally have a justification. You make me sick.
#mayaposts#discourse#the awful cat poll#genuinely none of this would've happened if op didn't just make those cruel statements but this is a better apology than the last#the post already has 10k+ notes though so i don't know if it's really gonna help but honestly i was expecting op to just dip and never post#again so this is more commendable to actually make a statement about this#i'm still not fully on board with it and i'm still angry but either way that's all op could do at this point#anyone who has ever sent hate or death threats to op directly in her inbox are horrible and you should be ashamed of yourself#i understand wanting to defend jellie but jellie doesn't need you telling people to kill themselves or sending hate to random strangers

All to avoid you - George Russell x AstonMartinDriver! Reader
Plot: George crashes on the last lap of the Aussie 24 Grand Prix landing himself in the middle of the road. She wasn't far behind and the yellow flag didn't come out in time, her engineer not communicating to her makes her forcefully crash herself out.
A/N: This whole race from start to finish was absolutely wild. Well done to all the drivers that were able to keep George safe while he was in this tricky position! However, this is just a work of fiction what is here!
It was the last lap of the Australian Grand Prix and you'd just overtaken Lance your team-mate, you knew you were gaining on George and you hoped that you could push a little harder.
But George having broke early to avoid hitting Fernando landed his car in the middle of the road, still inside it. And where you were gaining on him the time between him crashing and rolling into the middle of the road and the yellow flag coming up wasn't enough time for you to safely slow your car down. You had seen his car before your engineer and the yellow flag came up.
You swerved to avoid the car, knowing it was fresh and that George would still have been in there. The debris from the wreck rolled under your car and came for the floor meaning you also spun out from the harsh breaking.
"George in the middle-" you hear before the radio cuts out and your car is flipped over.
"And I don't think that yellow flag was called quick enough that is Y/N Y/L/N also out of the race with a nasty crash now just ahead of Russell on the crash and it looks like, her car has fully flipped over!" the commentator adds, looking at the Aston Martin now on it's roof.
"And it doesn't look like she's coming through on radio either..." another commentator adds.
"Y/N can you hear me?" comes through your radio.
"Y-Yeah" you gasp out clutching your chest that felt heavy.
"What happened?" you asked.
"I'm sorry! His crash wasn't called out quick enough and there wasn't a yellow flag by the time you reached him. It happened so quick!" he explains and you nod.
"And is Lance okay, he wasn't too far behind me!" you ask worried about your teammate and the driver in the middle of the road.
"Medical car has stopped for George, they are coming for you as well, just hold on. Lance is okay. His engineer called it quick enough to slow him down. He's asking about you!" he explains and you try to slip out from the car.
You take the wheel and just it out the other side of the halo so its on the grass before you attempt to crawl your way out. A hand comes down and a marshal is there reaching out to help pull you out.
You managed to get out the car with a twist and shimmy, standing up and brushing the dust off you and taking your helmet off and holding it in one hand at the side.
The marshal hands you the wheel before asking if you were okay to get yourself to the car yourself.
"Yeah, I'm all good thank you for helping me out!" you smile and nod before making sure it's safe to jog over to where the safety car has parked up near both the wrecks.
You jump in the back sitting next to George.
"You okay?" you ask and he looks at you with a face like thunder.
"Alright, before you throw a hissy fit and yell at me, check my on-board before you get back. There was no flag and no radio from my engineer until I had already swerved around you to avoid you. So before you run your mouth check!" you huff annoyed with him before looking out the tinted window as the car drives the pair of you away.
"I'm sorry, I'm just angry my race was ruined" he sighs and looks over at you, you arent looking back at him. You refuse to give him that satisfaction.
"I am too...if i kept going at the speed I was I would have passed you and now I have no points for the team. Fuck Lawrence isn't going to be happy" you say.
"I mean, the crash wasn't your fault. It was your engineer and the FIA for not calling the flag quicker!" he offers and you nod, knowing it wasn't but a man like Lawrence, he had it out for you constantly, especially when you performed better than his son.
"He'll find a way to make it my fault unfortunately!" you sign and George looks over at you.
"Why do you stand for that?" he asks seriously.
"Well, right now I don't see any better options" you sigh knowing you'd struggled getting a seat in F1 and right now Lawrence was the only person willing to take the risk by accepting you.
The risk working in his favour as more feminine brands were looking to offer up sponsorships for the team having a female driver in the seat.
"I mean, this year is the year to change if your going to. So many seats are free" he says trying to sound positive but you knew you'd have to graft hard if you wanted to change team.
"Mmmmmm, we'll see" you say.
"I'm sorry, for you know yelling at you the minute you jumped out the car.
"I know it's okay... i get that you are mad!" you sigh looking over to him and smiling, a genuine look passed between the two of you, knowing it was just racing at the end of the day.
And when you were both asked by interviewers who you thought was to blame you both said that it just happened to be an incident in the line of racing... both having some of the calmest interviews despite what happened on track.

Mr Leonhart opinions and Annie and his relationship post cannon headcannons?
(Ik u fic is dealing with him atm so u dont have to make it related of u don’t want to)
Like (if he lives long enough as my friend thinks he will die before this will happen) do u think he will be a good grandfather? Will Annie let her kid see him?
Will he walk Annie down the aisle or will someone else do it?!? I wish we got more on their relationship
Hi Hello!!
Annie and her dad huh. To be honest I never really felt much in either like or dislike towards Mr.Leonhardt, instead I always just went 😟😟 when we got Annie's backstory in full. He was a bad father, but then seeing a few takes on why he was a Trash Dad, I thought "Oh yeah that makes sense." I'm fully on board the Trash Dad Camp now.
In that regard, my personal take is that the relationship between Annie and her dad never really "goes" anywhere, post canon. There is too much abuse in her childhood, abuse that he inflicted on her for entirely selfish reasons. He didn't see an orphaned baby but a tool he could sharpen into a blade for himself. Annie's the way she is emotionally because of how he "raised her". So I find it very hard to see them having a very normal & cheerful father and daughter relationship, post canon.
Because he cried and hugged her before she left, Annie was touched (and haha she was touched by the half iota of affection there because he deprived her of any at all lmao) and made it her life mission to reunite with him. But to me, that doesn't seem enough to repair a whole decade of abuse and how he used her. Initial relief and happiness aside (like the hug in Fort Salta), I don't see them being chummy. Her father knows nothing about her. What Annie likes or dislikes, food wise, people wise, anything wise. She made her first friends in the 104th, she trashed her mission for a boy, she went back to the battle for the alliance members she obviously cared for - this is Annie. This is the real Annie, not what her father knew in those 10 years when she likely didn't know herself either.
So, honestly and if anything, their relationship post canon is functional. Functional in the respect that they talk, they share meals, they spend some time together, but it never progresses beyond that. It doesn't heal. It isn't repaired. They don't get close. Instead it's something that exists, with some stability - and I think Annie needs that stability.
(anything more on that and I'll spoil VBEOW, sorry xD)
As for the headcanons you asked... For me they all work off the above perspective I have. Mr. Leonhardt being a good grandfather? I honestly like to think he wouldn't know the first thing about being a good parent, let alone a grandfather. Simply being remorseful of your past actions doesn't transform you into a radically different human being without any serious effort put in. We don't know how he "truly changed" (if at all) during the years Annie was away. He may not be an angry violent man anymore but it's still not enough to be a good parent figure. Caring for someone is a whole different thing, after all.
Will Annie let her child close to him? Sure. I think that's part of having a functional and stable relationship with her father, she won't ban her child from interaction. But there will not be any "closeness" or "warmth", and the child may not spend too much time with Mr. Leonhardt anyway.
Now, god, will he walk Annie down the aisle? Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm gonna be emotional and angry and say: his leg is probably much worse, so Annie has the luck of getting Jean or Reiner or Connie doing it instead. Much better.
Thank you for asking :3

How to fall in love twice (Time, Malon) -Part 4
Pairing : Malon x Reader x Time
Rating: T
Summary: As you and Malon have some bonding time in Kara Kara inn Time gets pissy with the boys.
Warnings: Implied/ referenced child abuse, referenced alcoholism - (Reader had a drunk father that sucked until he was forced to get better or stay gone)
Other: if I missed anything, please let me know.
-------
You spend the two weeks a version of Wild's hyrule. The land is beautiful but the problem say it's only been twenty years since the calamity.
During this, you and Malon spend time talking and doing upkeep for an adventure. You gather rupees for odd jobs and stocking on supplies. With several faries and lots of weapons, you settle for basic food supplies. You leave an adventuring tag for the boys on the off chance they come across it
At the moment, you and Malon are settled inside the in of Kara Kara Buzzar, the busseling groups outside loud.
Inside is a haven of perfect temperature ir, maintained by enchanted sapphires.
"I hope the boys are doing okay." Malon says as she inspects her bow, eyes nothing but calculating.
"Mh, they're fine... By now, they're figured out that we're not coming back and that we got the mask."
"I know. I'm just worried. "
"Can I help?"
"No... It's just weird. I'm not usually the one on an adventure. "
You nod, not quite understanding the sentiment but understanding being on an adventure you weren't expecting or really even supposed to be on.
She looks at you fully, her soft smile a little bitter in the afternoon light. "I'm just glad that it's you that I'm with and not someone else."
"Oh- thanks. I'm glad it's you here too." Yoy say, trying not to come off as the giant smitten crush haver you are.
"You're sweet. It's really no wonder Link likes you so much."
"Oh, yeah... I try."
Malon just laughs, warm and amused. "You're a good person, and I've heard you're a Greta friend."
"That means a lot. Thank you."
She just smiles, pulling her bag onto the bed so she can double-check her arrow supply.
If she's honest- she likes you too. A lot. More than a friend even if it is a fresh crush.
You're funny, kind, and very attractive. She likes how you try to help people and protect those who need it. You're good people.
You turn to the window, watching the sands roll by as chatter sounds around you. The tourists outside are all dressed in linens and silks, seeking refuge from the sun as they browse the stalls.
You can hear Time worrying, even if you aren't actually there. You've seen it enough times, overheard his muttering, he thought no one could hear. You just hope he and the others are okay.
(You can see the pacing and the glaring as he mutters about where you and his wife might possibly be. The way he gets snappy with everyone's. How he takes as many watch shifts as he physically can before royally crashing. Only to repeat the whole process.)
"Hey, (Y/n)?" Malon calls.
"Yeah?"
"What was it like for you growing up?"
You turn to face her, her curiosity evident. And usually you don't just tell people about your past but most people don't ask. To be fair.
"Well... I mean, mom was born on a ranch and grew up there with her siblings. Dad was a royal guard from a long line of them.
"I grew up in castle town, I have three siblings though. And we spent every summer at Mamaw and Papaw's ranch. I did good in school but I struggled to keep up.
"It was okay, dad wasn't home a whole lot... Drank when he was, but he just got loud and angry."
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"It's fine. The one time he hit us, mom nearly killed him." You give a shrug, "After that, he left for a year and came back better. I still don't talk to him much these days. But I don't feel like he's a danger anymore either."
"He hit you?" Malon asks, furry already filling her. How dare anyone ever mistreated children - how dare anyone mistreated you.
Oh, she'd like to kick your father's ass. That would be fun.
She can only imagine that Time would be on board.
"Once. Never again." You shrug, unphased because honestly you've faced worse on this quest with the boys.
"That's a real low thing."
"It's cool, I can kick his ass now. After learning to hold my own against the boys, I think I could take on Gannon myself." You crack a smile, hoping to distract her with a joke.
"I'm sure you could."
"Maybe that's why we got pulled away, to destroy gannon?" You snort at just the thought.
Gannon is so fucked is you or Malon meet him, but both of you- well he'd be done for. You both have a lot of rage towards him and you're both skilled at fighting.
"Ha! Maybe so."
"How would you do it?" You ask, "Defeat Gannon, I mean."
Malon tilts her head with a hum, thinking about the logistics of her ideal victory. She bites her lip as she does this.
"I think I'd just take my cast iron skillet to his head." Malon says with a shrug, "What about you?"
"Hm- I meN I'd wanna say the sword would let me weird it and go that route... but I'd probably be more likely to fight him with a baseball bat full of nails."
"That's a good choice."
"I think so!"
Malon changes the subject again, this time to the places you've been.
And you just enjoy the downtime with the redhead. You definitely are starting to fully grasp why Time likes her so much.
.......
Time can't stand can't of this, settled at a campfire in the Great plateu of Wild's hyrule is awful. Time's only thoughts are of you and Malon.
The woods are no comfort to him. Only making him more on edge because you could be anywhere in any time, and he'd never even see you if you were here.
Time is so worried. And everything is too quiet.
He's- used to not having Malon around all the time on this quest... But you've been there so long your absence is particularly felt.
The lack of your smile and laugh has been awful. Your help with cooking has been missed. The soft touches as you help him dress wounds -
Oh he's so fucked.
"I'm sure it's fine." Wind says a s he sits down by Time.
"Sailor - you don't know that. "
"I do. You have a type. Stubborn." Wind's smile at the end is a little smug.
"I- that is not my type."
"It's part of it."
"I'm just worried about them. Obviously, something happened. Neither of them would just run away. "Time says as he narrows his gaze on the ground.
"No... they wouldn't. "Sky says, "But they're together, are they're both smart."
"That doesn't mean they are in danger. I'm not even sure the mask is going to be helpful. What if they haven't even found it?"
Wind just listens, not sure how to help but wishing Time eoukd stop being so on edge.
"It will be okay, Time. Obviously you get them back. Or Twilight wouldn't exist." Sky tries to reason.
"That only means I get Malon back- what if (Y/n) dosen’t ever come back? What if It's my fault and I didn't hear them and-"
"Time." Twilight says firmly to try to stop the rambling spiral the man seems set on.
Everyone is worried about you and Malon. Everyone wants to get you all to safety-
"Hey, old man." Warriors calls out, "Come look at this."
Time stands, gaze landing on Warriors next to the largest tree in the forest, roots almost like their own tunnel.
The man was towards the knight, waiting for more instruction.
"These are (Y/n)'s initials, aren't they?"
Time looks, and maybe your hylian and his hylian are very different but you'd taught him how you tagged certain things when lost. A habit picked up from a survivalist uncle.
The tag carved into the tree reads your intials and then 'day 4'.
Unfortunately, the wood is well healed. At least fifty years have passed, probably longer. But the chain hadn't been in the plateu before, which means -
You got pulled away through a portal. With Malon at your side, probably. And you are in the past of the current time the boys are in.
That's some real shit.
"Well... at least we know what happened to them?" Wild trues, not really soundings too confident in it.
"I'm going for a walk." Time says in place of any real answer.
"Should we tag that way?" Wind suggests from behind the group.
"Maybe." Wild says, "So they can at least keep up with where we've been."
Warriors nods, deciding to tag the tree below your carving 'H.C. day 9.'
He just hopes you can figure it out.
Time can be seen going on a walk Allright, a real pissy walk.
Yikes.

The Witch and the Beast / Majo to Yajuu Episode 1
Overall Score So Far: 9/10
WE'VE GOT A HOTTIE LINE UP OF ALL GENDERS!!
Guideau on the left, Ashaf in the middle, and Genderless Hottie on the right :3
HOW ARE THEY ALL SO PRETTY.
Anime, now with more CROW BAIT. This time it's literal!! :D
OF COURSE the Goth With The Coffin on his back can use CROW MAGIC. AHHHHHHH.
Also, Guys. You guys. Fucking TOSHIYUKI MORIKAWA is voicing Ashaf.
THE VOICE OF SEPHIROTH. GRIFFITH FROM BERSERK. DANTE FROM DEVIL MAY CRY. TYKI FROM D. Gray Man. We get THE KING OF THE DARK AND BROODY SEXY MAN VOICE.
And Guideau is voice by Taichi, You - Jousuke from JoJo, Suphia from TenSura, Saya from Dead Mount Death Play, and Dorothy from Princess Principal!! A great rough and tumble voice perfect for Guideau. (1st Epi Spoiler: I can't tell if she's voicing Guideau's true form.)
More Episode 1 Spoilers Below!
I don't really know what I was expecting except for Hot Goth Dude with a Coffin Boyfriend, and a badass punch-em-up beauty with a nasty mouth from the PV on youtube, but that's what I got and more, and I am so very pleased about it.
I was SO EXCITED ABOUT THE CROWS YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Hottie Mage whips out a spell covered arms and MY BABIES ARE BURSTING FORTH IN A MURDER OF ADORABLE!!! I might have woken up Capybara's deaf elderly neighbors in my excitement.
What I was not expecting was a giant Zom 100 Shark to show up in the middle of the city lmfao.
Zom 100 Zombie shark on the left and Big Buff Giant Shark Dude on the right.
It's just a dude whose turned himself into a shark with magic, who immediately gets dispelled by a witch, and that THIS IS A NORMAL OCCURANCE??? People are like, oh noooo, there's a giant shark, Ione will deal with iiiiit, no worriesssss.
The implications this gives of a mixed soft/hard magic system tho.
I'm really looking forward to learning (or maybe not learning and discovering through negative space) the rules that don't get broken (which is necessary for a magic system), but also hope that they'll be playing hard and fast with what's possible. Cause seriously, wtf is this shark. Delightful, lol.
They mind games played with "Are Witches Bad or Not?" in this episode is fun, because as a viewer going in blind, we could have had some lawful good protagonists or we could have had some chaotic anti-heros, and I would have accepted either outcome. We kind of get both and that's even better!
Trying to include a speech about the morals of getting revenge with Ione as she tries to justify her actions for removing the lock on her grandmother was interesting, but I'm still not sure if her Grandma was the one to cause the fire and people 300 years ago killed her, or if her getting blamed for the fires and then killed just so happened to lock the fire away, but either way...
Along with this I'm not surprised by the coven of would-be witch's nor the attempts by them to claim that witches aren't bad, "you're just like everyone else," when you can tell from the art that the stereotypes in this world hold weight, lol.
However, I don't know WHY I was surprised by said witches getting their hands and feet removed as part of a ritual summoning of hellfire.
How... how is there not blood E V E R Y W H E R E ??!!?? Some heavy duty arteries have been cut, yo. I guess there kind of is but there should be MORE.
Ashaf finally figures out what's going on and gives in to Guideau, letting her go wild, and HELL YES I love it when we get a beast gremlin on a rampage!
Witch Laser Beams! Sure!
I also LOVE when Characters get the shit beat out of them and then Keep. Standing. Up.
The very purposeful listing of the two ways to lift a Witch's spell at the very beginning of the show, True Love's Kiss or A Change of Heart),was such a great Chekhov's Gun that I knew there was probably going to be another (secret) way to deal with it.
Fuck yea, angry kiss!! Let Guideau feast on your soul!!
But the most surprising thing that has me fully on board and ready to rock and roll is Coffin Boyfriend.
What gender is Coffin Boyfriend? We don't know.
However.
Coffin Boyfriend is not a third character like I initially expected.
Coffin Boyfriend is Mother Fucking Guideau Y'all.
Everything makes so much sense now. Ashaf carries coffin boyfriend's true body around in his backpack like it's no big thing.
And Guideau, with all that rage packed into a tiny little body, has to go around kissing witches to switch from her current body back to the original to then proceed to beat the shit out of said witch.
I fucking here for this. I'm so hype.
Hot Bois, Crows, Body/Gender Swaps, Witch and Magic Fuckery. I'm here for it all, y'all.
(I might even go read ahead in the manga for this one cause OH MY GOD MANGA ASHAF IS ALSO VERY GOOD)
This ART STYLE.
But also... Chrollo? Is that you?
Ashaf on the left, Chrollo Lucilfer from Hunter X Hunter on the right.
I love this. I love their vibe. After Apothecary Diaries, this might just end up being my favorite this season. I'll save that judgement for a few more episodes in though.
ep2 ep3 ep4 ep5 ep6 <- these will eventually become links

It is so definitely the mike faist bias, cause in the show morris is the more violent one without a doubt. He’s the one that pushed crutchie during the gate scene - starting some random fight for no reason -
and right at the start of seize the day (in obc bootlegs) oscar (brendon) is constantly pushing morris (mike) away from fighting, in bootlegs you can literally see oscar say to him calm down lol
it’s also just so obvious morris is the meaner one, at the end of the show, (corey’s) jack is joking around with oscar, hitting his hat down and oscar just does one tired laugh at him (one of the bootlegs, idk which one but brendon pats luca’s les’ head at the end of the show as les pretends to fight oscar)
but when jack throws his bag up and hits morris with it, you can see that morris was still mad and he throws it down intensely.
(Also in the paper mill bootleg, when jack is writing strike on the board, you can see morris push oscar, like hard, to lock the gate)
I think delancey redemption is fine, especially if you acknowledge their behaviour or if it’s blatantly ooc (you’ve got to say it tho).
But this trend of EVERYONE treating morris like the mild one in the relationship is canonically just not true so the only explanation is Mike Faist. (It’s fine it’s just a little… idk it feels like favouritism but everyone has favourites on any fandom because of the actors so idk why is makes me uncomfortable)
Sorry if this was long lol.
I like to study stuff no one else cares about so when someone cares, even a little, I ramble.
Please don't apologise for it being long, this is what I was hoping to hear!
I've skimmed through the boots I've got and you're right, Morris is consistently more antagonistic towards the newsies. The only times I can find where Oscar gets genuinely angry are when Race mentions his father and when Jack makes fun of his counting abilities (and his reaction to both varies actor-to-actor)
Aside from that, they're either equally antagonistic, or Morris tends to take the lead. Hell, if I remember right Anthony Norman even said his Oscar was actively trying to control his emotions.
I will add to this once I've seen the show again, but if I remember right Morris is the aggressor in most situations in the London show too. He still harasses Crutchie at the gate and if memory serves me correctly, when the newsies ambush the Delanceys during Seize The Day Morris throws his cigarette at Jack to goad him into attacking.
And let's not even get into how he talks about his "skull-busting arm" in Livesies kskdks-
Some of the Oscars taunt the newsies and goad them into attacking too. (I can't remember his name, but Oscar's actor in the tour is definitely the most aggro). But that's the thing, they're both capable of violent actions and goading the newsies into violence. Not one more than the other though.
Neither of the brothers are nice people. I think some of their behaviour is exaggerated by the fandom, but even when you stick to the cold hard facts, they aren't nice. If you're going to redeem them that's fine (I'm fully onboard with it myself), but you need to treat them equally.
However, if you're coming from the perspective of watching the movie I completely understand where this perspective comes from. Oscar is definitely the aggressor in the film, but in the stage show it's Morris (they kinda switched roles in a way?)
Anyways, I think you're right about the Mike Faist bias, even if it's on a subconscious level. Mike did say Morris has the potential to be good (and he's right! Everyone has the potential to change if they choose to), but so does Oscar. I don't like the implication that because Oscar is seen as more violent and angry there's no way he can ever be better.
This response was long too😅 But I think it's an interesting topic!
(Also, I've not seen the Paper Mill boot. Don't suppose you could direct me to it?👀)

Everyone's entitled to their preferences and if you don't like KH3 Sora, that's fine. Lord knows I heard a ton of arguments for and against when this poll was running. That said, I think you're really misrepresenting KH3 Sora because neither of your points are what actually happened in the game
The point about Pete in Olympus was brought up back when the poll was running, and my opinion is still as it was then: that characterizing Sora as "whiny" or "near crying" in that scene is completely misrepresenting what happens there. Not only are Sora's three reactions getting angry, sighing in defeat, and then trying to brush it off rather than being sad about it, but Pete's totally correct about what he said. This isn't, like, Pete calling Sora a little doo-doo head and Sora just standing there and crying on the sidewalk. Sora really did lose almost all of his power in DDD and Pete's calling that out, which prompts Sora to get defensive and frustrated. As he should, honestly! Can you imagine messing up so bad that you have to concede that Pete of all people has a point? And then to have your friends (unintentionally) rub it in? I'd get a little snippy and defensive, too. Calling him "a wuss that near cries over Pete saying mean words" is completely misrepresenting what actually happened in that scene, because in reality it's Pete pointing out a failure on Sora's part that he's still upset about and actively being punished by Yen Sid for (because don't forget that he really wanted to go to the Realm of Darkness with Riku and Mickey and was forced into world-hopping duty instead because he lost the Power of Waking in DDD), Donald and Goofy accidentally rubbing it in, and Sora getting defensive and trying to move on from it without dwelling on it despite Donald and Goofy's pushing
As for the San Fransokyo bit... I don't understand your issue. It's very obvious that Sora thinks that this is KH1 Riku back when he was in his "working for Maleficent/Ansem-possessed" phase having time-traveled to the future, and he thinks that because it was Goofy's theory that Repliku went along with. And that's a reasonable enough theory to have considering literally every other Organization member in KH3 was either a recompleted Nobody turned Nobody again or a time-traveler and the fact that Sora, Donald, and Goofy do not remember CoM and do not remember that Repliku exists. He's not blaming our current Riku for what's happening in San Fransokyo, nor does he think that post-KH2 Riku just randomly swapped sides, and I have no idea where you got that idea from? Hell, even Riku himself thinks that KH3's Organization Riku is himself from the past and he holds it against himself more than Sora does. Literally both of them think that this is just an extension of KH1 Riku's pre-character development villain phase that he doesn't remember because of the memory loss that results from time-travel. Nobody's looking at a Riku who's obviously way younger than he should be and going "oh, no, Riku became a villain again!" His age is literally the first thing that Sora calls out, and then he immediately denies that this could be the current Riku because it's out of character, which is the opposite of what you said
You say "it makes no sense," but it's your own point that makes no sense if you actually look at the scene in question. Not only does Sora have no way of knowing that a replica of Riku even exists because he had his memories of CoM wiped (and we have no way of knowing if Riku ever bothered to tell him), but he also doesn't believe that this is our present Riku because he knows the character development that Riku went through by the end of KH2 and after
Like I said, feel how you want about KH3 Sora. There's parts of that game's characterization that I'm not fully on-board with either. But I implore you to go back and actually look at what happened in KH3 without any sort of bias clouding your judgement before coming to the conclusion that KH3 Sora is the worst Sora, because your reasoning for why you dislike that characterization isn't based in the fact of what happened in that game
Pre-Remind KH3 wasn't the greatest thing ever, but Sora was way better than he was in DDD, where he came off as really slow.
I find Dream Drop Distance to be the absolute worst game in terms of Sora's characterization, and I can't fathom why that's the interpretation of his character that they decided to go with. Sora has never been "Xehanort on 5D chess" levels of smart, but he's not stupid, either. But DDD constantly throws in these... I don't know, "jokes" about his intelligence, like not understanding that "Dream Eaters" is obviously not Neku's name
Did they want to make Sora look stupid to justify having him fail the Mark of Mastery exam? To build up Xehanort? To build up Riku? I have no idea, but I can't say that I agree with the decision. If your smart characters only look smart because you forced everyone around them to act stupid, then you're not writing your smart characters well
Also, since I just noticed I can do this...
#liz answers#kingdom hearts#also even both of those points don't begin to scratch the surface of ddd's characterization#nobody is going to convince me that sora being slightly more emotional than he used to be after all of the trauma he's been through#is anywhere close to being as bad as sora thinking that neku calling out the name of the monsters currently attacking them#was him introducing himself#or somehow not even UNDERSTANDING that he was being arrested in the grid#'WOAH there. that is SO unfriendly' boy you have BEEN TO SPACE PARANOIDS where you were ALSO ARRESTED#you know this world's (or a similar world's) lingo and how it functions why are you confused about this?

I mean *I* personally don’t want a Manorian novella lol but I for sure don’t want the crossover. I think she’s running out of ideas at this point. CC is honestly an indication that, even though it was a rough idea in her mind (bc she did have a Pinterest board for it for a long time before it sold), it wasn’t fully formed and she went with it because she wouldn’t have had anything after TOG and ACOTAR ended (it would also explain why she even extended ACOTAR past the third book). It would also explain why CC is her weakest series, and one most readers aren’t really into that much it seems. She just doesn’t seem passionate about it
You mean you don't want to read about manon pegging dorian?!
I think she said she worked on cc for a long time in between books but it's the least memorable. Putting a read more to not clog up people's dashboards with my ramblings.
When teasers were released of cc2, I honestly could not pinpoint a character who would have said it, for example the counting abs one, that could have been pretty much any of her male characters except for maybe Lucien or Chaol.
I really liked Bryce in the first book, but then in cc2 she felt way too much like Aelin in terms of "I have a cunning plan that has saved us all - which nobody, including the reader, had any clues about!". It's sloppy writing to not even drop crumbs for the reader about plans. It's the same with Danika. I really despise her character because if I was Bryce and I'm uncovering so many secret plots from my best friend after her death, I'd be so insecure about our friendship. Danika knew Bryce's heritage but didn't tell her about her father, her mate, the rebels' plots, working with Sophie. I'm sure Danika will also have somehow contacted Aelin or Rhys in their universes too. It's lazy writing!!!
It's annoying as I really liked Bryce and Hunt together too - but sjm has a habit of making her couples so damn boring once they're together. The women lose personalities and are always so submissive whereas the men can do no wrong either - and I don't want that to be hunt and bryce.
The repetition is dull now. I don't want Flynn and Ariadne to be mates but they probably will be because he feels a pull to her. I don't want Ethan and the alpha wolf from the mystics being mates but they probably will because he feels a pull to her. I don't want Ruhn and Lidia to be mates but they probably will because he feels a pull to her. Not everybody needs to be mated. It's not rare when everybody has a mate bond. Mate bonds could be really interesting if the bond happened when someone was already in an established relationship with another, if they absolutely detested each other, if they were enemies, if they rejected the bond. Love without the presence of magic forcing them together is also good. I think it's more special to find love simply because you love that person rather than "I can feel a magical pull and we will be together FOREVER".
Nesta's story now just seems to be a set up for finding the trove for Bryce which makes her "healing arc" even worse and shows how little the author cares for Nesta or Cassian. The plots for both cc books were slow, slow, slow.
The hype for CC2 lasted a few days and all of it was detracted by the spoiler leak/final page. Are you really telling me the leak wasn't an inside job to drum up sales too? Conversation straight away went to all about Rhys and ACOTAR. I felt angry for Bryce, like this is her book and Rhysand has taken the attention. Even Feyre doesn't get names, she's just that woman covered in paint. Just as in Nesta's book, it was the Feysand show again. People who argue that Elain will get a book because the story is about three sisters... no, it's about Rhysand. It's always been about Rhysand. Even when Aelin was blasting through universes at the speed of light, she could still notice how handsome he was. Like we get it, you have a hard on for your imaginary character and can't function without mentioning him!!! But it is so freaking dull by now.
The thing that bothers me most is that sjm has somehow been given this crown as "the queen of foreshadowing". There are so many details that she skips out, under develops or completely ignores down the line. She wrote that Lucien resembles Beron in ACOTAR then retconned that so his father has a whole different ethnicity and now Lucien suddenly has Helion's nose. Feyre had to teach herself to swim in a pond, but nesta says their mother ensured they could swim because her cousin (?) was drowned by fae. One sister says the only person their mother respected was the father, the other says she was cold with their father. We still do not know the name of any of rhysand's family, none of their surnames, no cousins/siblings are ever mentioned, no other places names are ever included. In acotar, Kallias is described as the cunning lord of winter... and we never see any of that. arghhhhhhh so many inconsistencies and lack of development but I can get 3 pages of cassian's juices still seeping out of nesta's gleaming sex

If you are angry that you were not taught in school about some historical person or other being queer, or that you have seen a screenshot of an academic work doing something like calling two people who were clearly fuckin 'close brotherly friends'; and you are considering expressing that anger by declaring all historians/ archaeologists/ history teachers homophobic/transphobic
I would like you first to ponder a few things.
Most generally - how do you know now that this person was queer? Is it... perhaps because that was mentioned in a more recent academic work or a college class? Academic fields have moved on since the 50s bruh. That screenshot you're angry at, have you checked when the text was written?
But past that:
High School (and Similar)
At the most basic level, if your teacher had one semester to teach you all of world history before 1500AD, possibly their priority was 'here is the name of this civilization' not 'here are the names of all the gay people in it'. (I would have prioritized the gays personally tbh but that's me.)
But much more importantly:
Hello today we will be talking about "No Promo Homo" laws!
I'm gonna use the ones in the US to explain, because I know the most about them, but they are around in many many other places.
No Promo Homo laws vary in their details. I'll use Texas's as an example.
"Course materials... should include: emphasis, provided in a factual manner and from a public health perspective, that homosexuality is not a lifestyle acceptable to the general public and that homosexual conduct is a criminal offense."
In general, your average NPH law says either 'you cannot mention homosexuality' or 'any mention of homosexuality must be negative'.
(Note: if you're going 'wait hang on it's not a criminal offense tho? Why are you trying to pass off this clearly outdated law on us?' ...the law referenced, criminalizing 'homosexual conduct', IS still on the books in Texas. They're just not allowed to enforce it bc of the Supreme Court ruling in 2003. The NPH law above is fully current; in fact, in November 2020 Texas's Board of Education considered repealing but voted 9-6 to keep it.)
In 2019 there were seven states with NPH laws. There are still four. Also, there's this "Texas effect" with school textbooks where the state of Texas is the largest buyer of textbooks in the US, and it's easier to print one textbook for everyone than different textbooks for each state, so... textbooks for the whole US generally follow whatever the Texas Board of Education wants to teach.
...when your history teacher was failing to teach you about someone being gay... was that in a time/place where it was/is literally illegal to teach you that? Was it in a time/place where they can only tell you someone was gay if they immediately follow it with "and that's bad, this historical figure was leading an unacceptable and criminal lifestyle"? If not, was your teacher working off a textbook written for places where that's the case?
...Because if you're in the US in 2021 then the answer is very very likely 'yes' to at least one of those. If you're elsewhere there's also a pretty decent chance. (And even if there weren't actual laws directly affecting you - the Indignant Parents get their say about Corrupting The Youth, too.)
Again, how do you know now that the person was queer? Was it... perhaps because it was mentioned to you or someone else in a college class (or a book), which isn't under the domain of NPH laws?
Museums
While to the best of my knowledge there are no explicit NPH laws regulating museums, museums in many areas must in effect follow similar restrictions. One of my professors did a study on evolution education in museums which basically boiled down to 'because of the way funding works, a lot of museums have to dance around the existence of human evolution to the point that they have plausible deniability'. Same goes for queer-ness.
Yes, everyone working there knows the mummy is gay. The issue isn't the scientists, it's that museums need money to pay the rent preserve the artifacts build the exhibits etc, and therefore have to be careful what topics they focus on.
[Taking this moment for a sidenote: there will be sources linked in a reblog of this post.]
Academia, My Original Point
I need y'all to understand that being gay, just the fact of being gay, only stopped being actively illegal in the US in 2003. I need you to understand that there are more than 70 countries right now, today, as of July 2021, that have laws criminalizing homosexuality, including 11 where it's punishable with execution. I need you to understand that people could be arrested in the United States for "cross-dressing" within the last decade and still can right now today as we speak for things like "being trans and using the bathroom".
Do you think, possibly, that academics in some of those times and places had reasons for not explicitly saying 'this person was homosexual'? Do you further think maybe it could be possible that when all of the evidence that a historical figure was queer is laid out for you, very clearly, so it's obvious, so you can't miss it; and then the author tacks on at the end "...but uh @CIA no homo here definitely! @FBI just gal pals!" ...do you think maybe they had a reason for writing it that way?
Finally:
Look. Historians and archaeologists who are gay, and trans, and queer, we exist! Hello, hi! 👋 Right here! 👋 There are a lot of us actually!
Declaring all historians/archaeologists homophobic and transphobic is, guess what? ERASING US. The people who are alive, right here, right now.
Don't erase me.
#academia tag#queer history#homophobia#transphobia#misc#mine#it is also actually true that things that would read as queer in eg modern US culture were totally 'normal' in other settings#that's not just a homophobic excuse#just because men in the US in the 21st century can only touch each other affectionately if it's a punch in the arm or a slap on the back#and can't express verbal affection for each other at all#does not mean that's the case everywhere or everywhen#like. that is actually objectively true#you can go to a different country and test it#...but this post was already like 10 times my intended length soooo#also! please do not use this post as an excuse to hate texans!#there are queer/trans texans too! (hi again 👋 )#our state government's shite and we're gerrymandered to keep them in power#but the actual people are not all Bad Guys!#for example it was a group of texas activists who made gayness not-illegal for the entire US#you're welcome

Episode 4
Title: The Battle of Destiny! Stardust Dragon Stands in the Way/ A Blast from the Past, Part 1
Summary (via Crunchyroll): After making it through to New Domino City, Yusei confronts his old friend Jack Atlas, and challenges him to a Riding (Turbo) Duel.
Or: Yusei is very angry -- or not, and Jack is just plain cruel -- or, well, at least less cruel.
....
I have never wished more for there to be less banter during a duel than while I was taking notes on this episode. This episode got similar treatment to the first one, so... I'm sorry, but there is another long review ahead.
....
Opening scene, picking up right where it left off, Yusei has made it through and there's Jack waiting for him. The dub has, so far, still neglected to say why Jack is there (because it was a night similar to his own escape) and I'm curious to see if they ever do, but at this point I'm kind of doubting it.
Once again, I have to give 4kids credit for sticking to their very different characterizations in this scene. They made a change and they dedicated themselves to it 100%. In this case, Yusei is very, very angry from the first moment. Again, his anger is justified, but it's still a far cry from the sub where Yusei only starts to show this anger when demanding to know where Stardust Dragon is after Jack implied that he had maybe gotten rid of it (the same way he had gotten rid of the old d-wheel/runner). In Jack's case, he's just plain downright cruel from the first moment, which is a far cry from the sub where he's almost a little bit nostalgic, asking how long it's been and musing on that.
The dub doubles down on Yusei's anger with having him state, "I was never one to forgive and forget." Which. Okay, I actually do hate, if only because it's inconsistent with later development. Might have to file this away for later discussion when it's actually relevant. Right now, it's only relevant in that this justifies his duel challenge far more than in the sub. He wants revenge, so what better way than to defeat the King and knock him off his high horse? The sub...doesn't really give a reason. (Maybe they were originally planning to have had Yusei lose Stardust in a duel against Jack? I don't know. That's the only thing I can think of, and then they changed their minds later, of course.)
Jack's cruelness continues throughout the episode, but I have to admit that one particular line is especially savage as they are riding through the city: "If you get homesick I'm sure I can find you a trash bin to play in." Like, dude, maybe chill just a little. (This in contrast with Jack just pointing out his city with pride.)
Another thing that bothers me is that Yusei is very confident (almost bordering on cocky, honestly) that he won't be going back to Satellite. Again, this bothers me for the same reasons as stated in the past, that this is the exact opposite of the sub where Yusei fully intends to go back as soon as he has Stardust back.
Easter Egg! Dub only refers to the stadium as the Kaiba Dome.
....
The midnight meeting of Godwin/Goodwin and... the board? I'm not sure they ever tell us who those other people are, but those people -- it's hilarious in either version, really, especially since we, as the audience, don't get to hear why this meeting was called.
Anyway, Jack is gone, and Godwin is not pleased. In the sub, they are already aware that Jack is with "some Satellite" and Godwin is concerned about it getting out and ruining Jack's reputation. In the dub, they don't know where he is until Goodwin and Mina/Mikage meet up with Lazar/Yeager.
Notably absent is the moment when Godwin grabs Mikage by the throat, which -- understandable, but also by cutting it out, it cuts out the first hint that Godwin is really not a good person. Prior to this, we have no real reason to think that he's not, but this shows that he's not above violence at the tiniest mistake.
An interesting addition to the dub is this cut-off thought dialog from Lazar: "Someday this will all be --." This potentially hints that Goodwin is already planning to go rogue at this early stage (though only if you already know that; it's too vague otherwise). Which...it's hard to say if that is true or not. (Writing wise, Crow was originally planned as the final boss and the idea was only scrapped when he became a quick fan-favorite. Supposedly. I haven't researched that. But if that's true, that change would have been made much too late for 4kids to have known that at the time of dubbing this episode. So I really have no idea what's up with that line. If you've got thoughts on that, definitely let me know!) It also implies that he's actually fine with it. Which, granted, we don't know that he has a family until much later, but rewatching and knowing that just feels weird.
Another interesting addition to the dub that I love is Lazar commenting that it's illegal to duel someone from Satellite. I love this because it adds yet another little detail about the oppression in Satellite. (I dislike it since Yusei is obviously allowed to participate in the tournament, but whatever; Goodwin does whatever he wants so I still like this detail anyway.)
....
The duel is... A Whole Mess. It just is. Once again, kudos to 4kids for sticking whole-heartedly to their very different characterizations, but it does give me a whole lot to talk about since it results in a whole lot of changes, haha.
Once again, we get a shining example of how much has been changed with Jack. All through the duel, he doesn't miss a chance to tear Yusei down. Right from the start, he insults him ("The course can be rough for first-timers. Try to keep up.") rather than, in the sub, just commenting about having fun. The sub comment is still meant to be a little grating, obviously (because Yusei is not there to have fun), but it's not actively tearing Yusei down.
(Once again, the dub reused a segment of animation to add additional dialog, right at the start of the duel. I should start counting how many times they do this. We're up to two, haha.)
Talking about all of Jack's changed dialog is an... interesting conversation. In both versions, Jack is tearing Yusei down for how he plays, but there is a distinct difference. And I'm not exactly sure how to put that difference into words. Dub!Jack's dialog is far more degrading, to be sure, (he even calls Yusei 'garbage' at one point; like, ouch, man; that's not cool), but there's just something about sub!Jack's dialog that makes it distinctly different beyond that. So let's take them one at a time and see where we end up.
....
Sub first. Jack tends to give some big speeches in this duel (which irritates Yusei, which is hilarious when you consider the franchise and genre we find ourselves in). The first is when he attacks Yusei's monster that's been placed in defense and deals piercing damage: "You probably thought that even if you have weak monsters, you won't take damage as long as you put them in defense position. Those tiny seams eventually become large tears. You will never be able to reach Stardust." He's clearly trying to make Yusei start doubting himself here. Everything he says is aimed that way, and everything he says builds together off the idea that Yusei is "predictable".
When Yusei summons Junk Synchron, Jack continues to whittle away at Yusei's confidence: "I knew you would do that. Now do your tuning." This is Jack essentially saying over and over, "You can't beat me because I know all your moves." And it does impact Yusei. You can see it when he calls out Jack for talking too much and see it on his face as he hesitates for just a second before Synchro summoning Junk Warrior, after which Yusei tries to fire back when Jack comments: "You brought it out much earlier than I expected." "Overestimating yourself will lead to your self-destruction, Jack!"
Except that it ultimately backfires on him when Jack continues to bait him: "Your strategies haven't changed at all." Everything Jack says is to bait Yusei. He wants to erode his confidence bit by bit. He wants him to make mistakes. (Yeager even comments that part of Jack's winning strategy is verbally tearing down his opponents.)
And it works. Yusei's response is to think, "I'll attack without fear!" which results in him playing right into Jack's trap, and in doing so, actually indirectly affirms statements Jack makes shortly after.
And then Jack lays on us a zigger of a revelation about Yusei: "You're no good. You look calm on the surface, but you quickly get hotheaded. That's why you always lost against me! You are afraid of me! That's why you repeatedly become impatient and attack and don't realize that I've been playing you like a puppet!" He follows that up pretty closely with: "I sense it! I sense it, Yusei! You're unsure of yourself!"
To me, this is huge. Even though all of this is said to degrade Yusei, there's still truth in what he's saying. Yusei is a little brash when he's dueling, and his lack of confidence comes up several times over the course of the series (most notably after his first duel with Kiryu, but also against Placido, and even against Z-ONE). And the fact of the matter is that Yusei is brash because he lacks actual confidence. He's a good duelist, and I think on some level he does know that, but most of his confidence is just a front.
....
Let's move on to the dub now (I'll analyze the ending on it's own).
Jack's first speech is replaced with this: "Things seem to have started the way our last duel ended: with you losing precious Life Points. [...] The only thing I'm going to regret is that this duel isn't being broadcast to the millions of fans around the globe who cheer for me night after night. They've earned the right to view my greatest challenge ever and my greatest victory. You do realize you're going to end up losing this battle tonight, don't you." This is...a very different statement. It says nothing about the way Yusei duels, and instead of tearing at Yusei's insecurities, he's almost more hyping himself up. It's more of a "look at me, I'm so great" idea rather than seeding doubt -- at least until the last sentence.
Yusei is obviously irritated by this but not especially bothered or put out by it, given the difference in his response: "You just keep talking, Jack." Like, he's annoyed but also he doesn't really care because he's confident and Jack's words aren't going to shake him.
Jack still tries to intimidate Yusei, but since Yusei is much more confident, that takes on a different form. When he summons Junk Synchron and Synchro summons, we get this exchange: "Big deal. Yusei, you'll need to do better. [...] If that's the best you got, then you're in trouble." "I think the only thing in trouble right now is your Mad Archfiend!" Jack isn't planting doubt or picking at insecurities he knows Yusei probably still has. He's still trying to bait Yusei, but it strangely feels less personal despite the fact that everything else has been bitingly personal up to this point.
After this point is where things get...weird again. I am honest-to-goodness trying to not be salty about the dub, but the writers made it painfully easy here by adding in backstory. Like, this was just plain not smart on their part. Adding in backstory that doesn't exist in the original where the possibility is high that the actual backstory is eventually going to be given and thus rendering this scene inconsistent and completely irreconcilable to canon was a really terrible idea. The implications of this added story is that Jack got close enough to steal the runner and Stardust because of a setup to get Yusei to duel Security. I suppose you can reconcile it as a failed attempt, but that's a pretty poor explanation and doesn't explain why either of them are bringing it up now if it's not actually really relevant (which it wouldn't be then).
The other thing about this duel is that, rather than Jack declaring that Yusei is unsure of himself (because that's not true of the dub), he declares that he has "the need for speed." I'm sorry. I just. I can't take him seriously after that. I can't.
....
So what do we do with all of that? I've gotten to the end of the major point changes and I still don't know. They, once again, present very different characters in this episode. In the sub, Yusei is not as confident as he outwardly seems, and Jack knows exactly how to push his buttons. In the dub, Yusei is almost over-confident and Jack's got nothin' on him.
....
After the vague salt above, I have to at least give a couple of things from the dub that I actually did like -- or, at the least, laughed at.
I do love Yusei's "That's quite the rock collection." I don't know, it makes me chuckle. That's all.
Another truly hilarious thing just because it's utterly ridiculous is Lazar telling Mina to go do something useful, like getting them "extra hot lattes." I. What does that even mean?!? It made me laugh.
Moving on.
....
As the last point, I can finally say that I'm happy with how the dub ended an episode. It's different, but it's still overall very fitting.
Yusei came to get Stardust because it represented everyone's dream or wish. So what does Jack say? "Be careful what you wish for." It's very fitting, especially considering how the episode plays out, and I love that as the last line of the episode.
The last lines in the sub are equally as good and fitting of the way the episode played out: "I've raised the curtain on this party. Let act one begin!" It's very fitting since Jack has been treating this entirely as a game the entire time, rather than with the seriousness Yusei has been treating it with, but it also says that Jack is just getting started.
I love both. They are both very fitting for their respective progressions.
....
So there we have it! Episode 4 in the books!
If you made it all the way to the end, thanks for reading, and be sure to let me know what you think of the changes that were made!

Tag: First Line
Tagged by @writeouswriter thank you! I haven't seen this tag in a while and I have acquired new first lines that I'm happy to share (it's not 20 of them, I don't write that many stories XD )
Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favourite opening line, then tag some of your favourite authors!
Question of Trust, Chapter 04
The Baron, Baltasar decided, was a fool. Nothing else could be said of a man who considered three hunters a capable enough party to take out a fully grown lindworm. He watched them depart from the village early in the morning and massaged his temples.
Cursed Twins
‘Our names are Leia and Luke Skywalker and we live with Owen and Beru Lars. They own a moisture farm past Anchorhead.’
Old Times' Sake
18 years in Volisport is a lifetime, Lilith knows this. Still, it’s a bit disappointing when she writes to her old acquaintances and none of them write back. More disappointing is when none of her old allies write back either.
Downtime
Kasimir has been a criminal his entire life so he’d be forgiven for thinking he knows exactly how this business works and what sort of people get into it. Sure, letters are not the usual way of hiring people for a new crew, but it’s not the most outrageous one. And if Eleanor is not a name any self-respecting criminal would choose, it’s at least a very rich name. And he does need money.
Best laid plans
Alina does not sleep very well. She keeps tossing and turning, guilt sitting in her stomach heavily. It was much easier to ignore when Mal was in danger. Now it’s nearly impossible and her mind conjures up images of her comrades, bloodied and dead, at the board of the skiff. She hides her head under the blanket, but that helps nothing against the only kind of darkness that scares her.
Hogwarts Elite, Chapter 38: Reconsideration
Harry sat in a carriage sullenly, huddled in a thick coat, and glared out of the window into the snowstorm happening outside. His breath froze into unhappy clouds of mist that fogged his glasses.
Forgotten Cult, Vahid's POV
Vahid prizes himself on the fact there are very few things left in the world to surprise him. It comes with being marked by one of the Chaos Two.
Forgotten Cult, Atria's POV
Atria stares at the metal ceiling, lit lamp swinging just out of her peripheral vision with angry waves slamming into the hull. Thunder crackles above them menacingly. Moments later, Ned’s chosen profanities echo down to her.
Unnamed Supernatural University WIP, Chapter 03: Varvara of Karlievo
Adje spends the rest of his day staring at the computer screen. No news channel mentions anything about the missing spellbook. Yet. Sooner or later the information will leak and then everyone will try to bend it to fit their agenda. The Abbey will have a field day.
---
I seem to start a lot of these with a statement of something that is objectively true. Or a tidbit about the main character, especially if it's the first line in the WIP and not just the chapter. I gotta admit my favourite is probably from Question of Trust, followed closely by Downtime.
If you've read this far, tell me which one is your favourite!

Since I trust you to be unbiased what’s your take on the whole Ruze and Atwater situation?
So, I'm going to preface this by saying that I'm not unbiased. No one ever is. Everybody had their favourites, their views on things, and that all colours how we interpret what we see in these scenes. I am very meh when it comes to Adam. I think he's an interesting character, but I am critical of him, though I like to think it doesn't stretch to hate. Kevin, on the other hand, is one of my favourites. So there is definitely bias there. That being said, I do try to be fair, so let's do this. Under the cut for length and for the people who don't want to see it.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again, I don't want what we saw with the phone call to be the end of the conversation between them. I don't think there was enough room in the episode to fully resolve what went down between Kevin and Adam. Still, I don't want the phone call to be a 'we're good, bygones are bygones, all is forgiven' kind of deal. Putting it aside, for now, to focus on Kim; yes. She needed both her boys at that moment, and she'll need them while she's healing. But I really think this is only a temporary truce. Because the show touched on real, relevant issues that are in no way over in our world, which means they aren't over in the show-world either.
Adam and Kevin's smackdown has been brewing all season. I'm not going to focus on the physical fight, just what was said. Because things were said and opinions were shared that need to be addressed, or at least be recognized. Some might say something like, 'it was the heat of the moment,' or 'Adam only said what he did because he was scared for Kim.' And those people would be right. But only to a point. Believe me, I am sympathetic to all that Adam was feeling in this episode; kudos to Paddy for the portrayal. And while those feeling can't be overlooked, they can't be an excuse either. Yes, he only said those things because Kim was missing. He was understandably angry and frustrated, so he did what most of us would and lashed out. And I'm not going to fault him that. But understand that just because he didn't mean to say those things doesn't mean that's not what he thinks and feels. There's an adage: drunken words are sober thoughts. Well, it's the same when you're angry. And when you're scared. Adam meant everything he said to Kevin during that fight. He believes those things, even if that's not when or how he wanted to have that conversation if he ever did.
"A proud reformist," that's what he called Kevin. And that's what all cops should be. But that's not what Adam believes. Get rid of racist cops, yes. 100% he is on board with that. Adam does not think that racists have any business wearing the uniform; you'll never convince me he sees that any other way. Because Adam isn't a racist, and yes, I've seen that accusation hurled at him. Is he unconsciously bias? Yeah, absolutely. So am I, so is every person on this planet, doubly so if you're white. But racist? No. What Adam is, however, is a cop who fully believes in the ends justifying the means. It's why he respected Al so much, why he respects Voight so much, and why he bumped heads with Antonio so much. By his own admission, everything that goes beyond weeding out those racist cops is "overzealous" and "punishing the many to get to the few." Adam doesn't see the need for reform beyond racism. He considers all these reform rules as a hand tying measure, stopping cops from doing their jobs and letting criminals walk. But it's important to note that despite what Adam may think, most of these reform rules aren't new. They're just being enforced. To their strictest measure. Both in terms of their interpretation and their punishment. And Adam does not like that. Worse, he doesn't respect it.
Adam doesn't respect reform, not to the degree it's going to, the degree it needs to go to. What's more, he doesn't respect reformists. To him, they're too concerned with "checking boxes and kissing ass" for the higher-ups, who are only pushing this to try and save face. That means that despite everything they've been through. Despite how much he doesn't want it to be the case. Adam's respect for Kevin is waning. And so is Kevin's respect for him. That's not something that can be, nor should be, resolved by unsaid words. It demands and deserves a longer conversation. But again, understandably, there was no time or place for it in the finale.
This is a conversation I want them to have. I need them to have it. In part because it's scarce to see two guys have this kind of talk. Big blowouts between male characters are often 'resolved' with a grunt, a beer, and maybe a man hug. That's something that needs to end. Another reason is that, despite the result, I don't think anything that happened has changed Adam's view on reform. Though the hopeful side of me thinks that maybe this could be the start. But only if words are said. If nothing else, Adam and Kevin need to talk to come to a mutual understanding. To try and regain some of the respect, they probably only now realized that they've lost. Because a loss of respect leads to a loss of trust. And they can't go on as partners if trust is lost; they can't really gon on as friends either.

i hate grief bc i've wanted to die my whole life and thinking about the person i lost never wanted to make me stay but now that they are the ones who died i'm angry as fuck every day and feel trapped but i know that if it had been me the one to die it would have been ok and i wouldnt even have worried about it/hurting ppl with my death. like every day i do H and get drunk and i dont care about dying you know? but i lost someone and it makes me angry that THEY didnt care. do you get what i mean?
i am really really sorry for your loss. yeah. i know what you mean, at least to an extent. everyone’s grief and suffering is unique to them and the relationship they had with the one who passed, but i can relate so much to being trapped and mad and out of my mind. i think a lot of people can. it seems like so many of us are walking around half disillusioned by this existence and half completely done with it because of the shit we’ve been through. every day i feel a form of anger (most of the time it is cold and numbing) when i think about how my sister died. i have gone round and round in my head about why she did the things she did. because even if it wasn’t fully preventable, it wasn’t cancer or a car crash or anything like that. when i found out what she had in her system. god. i can not explain to you what that moment was like. it fucking choked me. all i remember is i felt my heart beating somewhere in my head, and i was PISSED. i thought i was going to pass out. because it’s like you said - she didn’t care, and that was almost like proof. she went to sleep thinking nothing of anything. mindless. after weeks of lecturing her, after her constant presence in my life, all that time. after years of her fucking around w other drugs and finally finding stability only to slip for less than a month bc of some fucking man, only to lose her entire life to a mistake - it’s inexplicable. i can sit here and write to you about it but i still cant’t fathom it. how she didn’t give a fuck, or she couldn’t see the situation clearly enough to. and now i’m living this forever without her. now i have to take care of my mother alone. now i’ve lost my best friend. and she lost everything. she was a whole person, she would’ve had years left and she deserved to. and the only reason she didn’t is because she couldn’t fuckin accept how much she was worth, how much life was worth so she gambled w death. what i’m saying is i understand that in a way, maybe a selfish way, i don’t know - it almost feels mocking. because we’ll never know if they realize what they’ve done. after she died that’s all i could repeat out loud in the shower. i kept saying: you don’t know what you’ve done. idiot, stupid girl. shit like that. every time i tried to talk to her, it was a lecture. so yeah. it is very very normal to be pissed off and bitter dude. it is not easy or fair to be left behind. it’s all a normal part of grief. losing it entirely is the whole thing because honestly what else can you do.
i could be wrong but. unfortunately i think all of these emotions, in the context of you, stem from the fact that it is easier to care for others than it is to care about yourself. you’re not bothered about yourself dying because you don’t have the same love for yourself that you had for the one who passed. you don’t see yourself as important in that way. i don’t know what happened to make you feel like that. maybe whatever it was lead you to use drugs n alcohol to escape in the first place. maybe you think you not mattering is some sort of universal truth, but it’s not. it’s a belief you constructed either out of pain or as a trauma response that you’ve clung onto so much that you’ve convinced yourself it’s reality. it’s clear you’re going through an insurmountably difficult time, and i know words on a screen aren’t going to change that. i wont pretend to get it first hand. i just want you to know that the same way you wish your friend had realized the worth in their life before it was too late, that same anger born from frustration and sadness - that’s how a lot of people likely feel about you. and i know you don’t care about hurting them w your death because you don’t care about anything. your friend didn’t care, why should you, right? but that’s how the cycle perpetuates. and you’re the one who has to live with this all now, stuck here or not. try to periodically and consciously recognize how fucked up and permanent grief is. you don’t want to be the one to cause it. not really. not when you can see it for what it is and you have the option to prevent it. you are here no matter how much you wish not to be. you do deserve to find substantial peace, stability and good health while you still can. that’s non negotiable. even if it takes a fucking life time getting there.
i completely understand that it is all far easier said than done. that you have to be the one who is willing to reach out for help and to really stick w a plan but. i guess i just hope you know that the option will always be waiting for you when you are willing to seek it out. whether it’s through a hotline, rehab, your doctor, your friends and family, 2 hours without using or drinking. any step in the right direction is commendable. you are absolutely more resilient than you realize. more in general than you realize. you’ve had to deal with so much, just the most unimaginable things, and you’re still here. i know that’s because you feel you have no real choice in the matter, back to being trapped here. but nonetheless you’re making it. you can learn to treat yourself w the same regard that you treated your friend. you can learn to care about what happens to you. you can slowly make a home out of what you currently see as a jail. through talking, through implementing healthier coping mechanisms into your daily life, through building a support system, through confronting and processing how much it hurts, through finding the clarity that comes with progress. all the things your brain wants you to write off. addiction and mental illness are genuine health concerns that require long lasting therapy and treatment just like any other ailment. and maybe the point is to learn to live with them, rather than to cure them entirely. but they are not a death sentence (and that is a good thing), and they are not the entirety of you. you are just currently very overwhelmed by them, understandably so. excuse me if this is all sounds like naïve bullshit, but maybe some day you will be able to take some of it on board if you can’t right now. anyway, it sounds cliche as fuck, but every day that you’re alive you’re keeping your friend’s influence on this world alive too. you were shaped by them, in more ways than you realize. and they’re here in more ways than we realize too. not necessarily ghosts, at least imo. but just around. and in your head, in the universe. i am rooting for you so much and i hope you can accept that even if it all feels like lies, it’s ok to treat yourself w kindness. any attempt is good enough. sending a lot of love your way. please take care of yourself as much as possible. please consider your needs and your well being while you still have the choice to. sorry to go all 90s drug prevention ad on you btw, but u know me. i’m incapable of shutting up and minding my business abt this sort of thing lol

Hello! I don't know how old is it, but I just read your answer on that TamaFumi ask and as a shipper myself I couldn't agree more! :D Also I'm so happy to find someone else who's got so much in the arcana story and their parallels!
Right now I'm in hype for the new chapters of Relive story, that on Shiori and Michiru, which is fantastic! Have you read it? I don't know if I could spoil it or not xD
Anyway, back to Rinmeikan, I'm still wondering in the Arcana story what kinda role will take Ichie. Would be a "follower" of Tamao, understanding her war? Or would it plot against? Since we still have not see her it worries me.
P.s. sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language
Hello anon! No need to apologize, your English is great!
Yes, I've read the Shiori and Michiru story and I thought it was amazing! Michiru is one of my favorite characters in the franchise, and one of the primary reasons for that is how she balances her ambitions with her love for the people around her. Yes, she's very single-minded in getting what she wants, but she's also extremely cognizant of what is best for the others around her - she's prideful but not opportunistic. And I think that her revue with Shiori gave her a much needed wakeup call with Akira - that she cannot control the destiny of one person and that she wasn't allowing herself to enjoy the stage she was on right now. I don't know how caught up you are with the stories that have only been released on JP so far, but I encourage you to read her conversation with Misora as well if you haven't already!
And Shiori fully deserves the win that was gifted to her with how much she's focused in on getting her sister back. I love how she used her role as the Chariot to push herself out of her comfort zone and fight more aggressively. She's so young that I don't fault her for being a meeker person, but she's really coming into her own.
But your ask was about Ichie!!
Your question is an interesting one because I haven't given Ichie's role in AA much thought yet, so let's work through it together.
I think that the three Rinmeikan senpais are unique in that they are all united on the same front of what they're aiming to get - the revival of their performance department. It may be Tamao's darling, but Ichie is just as driven not to lose it either. Therefore, I believe that she'll work in Tamao's best interests, even if she doesn't agree with her methods.
The Sun arcana represents happiness, joy, and harmony. All of these things encapsulate Ichie perfectly - she is Rinmeikan's heart and light.
But The Sun also represents good fortune and success. "The universe comes together and agrees with your path and aides your forward movement into something greater.". I think that this is where Ichie faces the opposite situation from her assigned Arcana. Fate didn't play out well for her. Her idol career was killed in its childhood without a second thought by the people running it, and her second chance with theatre at Rinmeikan is quickly slipping through her fingers as well. She's positive and bubbly, but not passive. It doesn't seem so at a first glance, but Ichie is tenacious. I was so surprised when reading Rinmeikan's arc for the first time to see how angry and determined she was to reverse the loss of the performance department.
She's already been through the wringer once, and that's why I anticipate that she'll work in earnest to defend her and Tamao's best interests, even if she isn't necessarily on board with whatever plans Tamao has in store - either way, lord knows that Tamao needs an ally right now. Tamao and Fumi are also both known for being grimdark edgelords, so I don't think Ichie's gonna be buying the whole gay little "death sure has gentle eyes..." schtick. She'll have a blast playing her ditzy airhead role along with Yachiyo and her wife Kuro and god DAMMIT they'll have a ton of fun with it. AND she'll get the performance department back too!!
However many times she gets knocked down, Ichie believes in rebirth and fighting for second chances. Right now, Tamao and Fumi are fixated only on the the first part of that cycle: death. I don't think they've given much thought to the aftermath, and they'll very much need Ichie to guide them through that.
Sorry that this answer is a bit shorter and not as comprehensive as my previous ones - Ichie's Sun bond stories are only released in Japanese right now and really got mangled by Google Translate, so they were difficult for me to pick apart. That being said, I think I mostly reiterated here what I said in the last part of the TamaFumi ask - that for Tamao's single-minded sacrificial mindset and Fumi's pragmatic and realistic approach to life, they really, really need Ichie around to offer a lighter and happier kind of wisdom. I might try to revisit this once her story gets released on WW!

Slight panic attack,
Porcelain Face - Chapter 5
WARNING: Lilo&Stitch 2 spoilers (If you haven't watched it before)
-"So how about we go inside? Have you ever been to a porcelain store before, paper-boy?"
The guy in grey apron asked as the three of them walked into the warehouse of the shop.
-"Nope, and if you want to talk to me with a nickname it's actually cardboard boy." Virgil replied.
-"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, what's your name by the way?" The guy asked, a little nervously from the awkwardness of this conversation so far.
-"Its Virgil" The cardboard boy replied.
-"That's a lovely name you got there kiddo! I'm Patton! I'm the son of the owner of this store, cool right?" The guy so-called Patton said in a cheerful tone.
-"Yeah, yeah. Skip it, that's amazing that you guys finally know each other now but haven't we brought Vee here for a reason???" Ethan rolled his eyes.
-"Ooooh! Yeah! Explanations!" Patton finally replied.
-"Not ALL of the explanations, Pat." - the porcelain boy raised his voice a little with stress and worry.
The older one nodded quickly.
-"Soo.....Do you want to know about your mask?"
Virgil and Ethan both looked questionably at him.
Virgil's expression on his cardboard face obviously said that he indeed wanted to know more about it and the other boy was just waiting for the bomb to explode.
-"Well...I know it's magic but I don't know exactly where it came from, hehe...." Patton laughed nervously, scratching his cheek.
Ethan facepalmed his head then, Virgil though looked pretty confused and disappointed.
-"Guess we're staying here for the rest of the school time...right?" Virgil said, wanting to change the subject, what's the point of asking questions anyway if they won't tell you the answers.
-"Oh no no no! You're not staying in THIS place.
It's only for fixing Dee over here." he said pointing at the porcelain boy
"How about going to the cafe?" Patton suggested getting a glare from the porcelain boy for the nickname that was used in front of Virgil again.
-"You change your mind pretty quickly."the cardboard boy said.
-"Not wanting to be rude of course."
-"Nah, you're not.
He's just like this confused mom friend even if he declares himself a dad" Ethan simply said making the usually bubbly person huff in annoyance before smiling again and saying:
-"Welp, I may act like that sometimes but I do not have a feminine face like you, dear cousin." The older boy smirked as the younger one with heterochromia gasped offended.
-"That's not my fault! Let's just go to the cafe!"
Virgil giggled at their funny relationship, they got along pretty well.
It was a shame for him to be honest to not have any cousins or siblings....It felt so...lonely.
After they appeared at their destination Patton asked the boys what they wanted to get, since he was the one to buy the stuff.
Virgil wanted to deny but he looked at Ethan instead remembering he didn't eat.
Apparently Ethan forgot for a second as well before getting "angry" again.
-"I can't- You bastard! How dare you Patton?! Right in my face?" The porcelain boy exclaimed as both of them knew what he was talking about, they both laughed.
-"Your loss. Virgil will get your food then!" Patton simply said as Ethan crossed his arms, pretty pissed off at his miserable non-human being.
-"No, no I don't-"
Virgil tried explaining as Patton gasped before heading closer to the boy and whispering:
-"Please don't tell me you don't eat too."
-"No, it's just I don't want to inpose, please-" Virgil tried saying but Patton kept nagging him until he finally sighed in defeat and agreed.
As Patton went to buy the food and drinks there for a moment was silence between the two of the other boys until Ethan finally spoke up.
-"Sooo...You're really not ashamed of me being...you know?" He asked as the other boy shook his head pretty fast it could even fall of his neck.
-"No! Of course not! You're wonderful!" He tried defending the other who smiled softly at him.
-"Are you busy tonight?" The porcelain boy asked.
-"N-no? Why do you ask?" Virgil said.
-"Then I'm inviting you over! You can finally meet my queer-platonic mums!" He said exitedly before flushing in embarrassment for saying it out loud."
-"R-Really? They won't mind?" Virgil asked again, a little more shy this time but still with hope in his voice.
-"No, but there is another problem with them that you need to just ignore..."
-"What???" Virgil became a ball of confusion at this moment.
-"They ugh....Think we are a couple? How do you say it....They...ship us?"
-"What???? And why would I be a bout-" Virgil asked with an inside joke.
-"Well, it's not exactly a bout...."
-"I know what it means, dummy. I'm just playing with you to make it sound less awkward."
-"Well, that didn't help-" As Ethan was in his mid sentence he got cut off by Patton who just came back with the food."
-"DA FOOD IS HERE!" Patton happily exclaimed.
With that sentence The boy in vitligo did some hand gestures to Patton, probably the sign language as the boy in glasses glared at him and used the sign gestures back.
Ethan: "F-U-C-K O-F-F P-A-T"
Patton:"L-A-N-G-U-A-G-E"
-"What were you saying????" Virgil asked but instead of answering Ethan took the muffin from Patton's plate who clearly yelled at him as he shoved it in Virgil's face.
Unfortunately it didn't go through his mask as it was intended to.
Instead it made Virgil very uncomfortable.
-"Guess it broke, huh?" Ethan said.
-"I'll eat it later you idiot! Don't shove it in my mouth here if I can't eat it!" Now Virgil was really pissed at the other boy who now tried to apologize to him the best he could.
And it finally worked.
-"How about we go to Dee's house?" Patton suggested.
-"I already asked him that before, he agreed."
-"Yey!" Patton replied still as happy as ever.
-"But I need to get my things first-" Virgil said worriedly.
-"Oh right!" The both of them said in unison.
As Patton drove him off to his house to get his things.
His parents weren't home as usual....
After 10 bare minutes of packing he came back and popped in the car next to apparently Dee.
-"Why aren't you sitting next to Patton in the front sit?" Virgil asked curiously for why the other boy was sitting here when there was an empty sit in the front.
-"He knows why." Patton exclaimed rolling his eyes as Ethan stuck his tongue out at him.
-"Okay then..." The cardboard boy awkwardly replied.
After 10 minutes of driving or so, because Patton couldn't drive faster that 50mph.
[Ethan always woke up pretty early and run 5 km like it was nothing]
When they finally arrived Ethan went to knock on the door as he said:
"Mom C! Mamma D! I'm brought Pat and Virgil home!"
-"Pfff..Mom C, Mamma D?" Virgil said
-"Shut up" Ethan replied as two woman in the age of 30 or close came to the door.
One had light curly hair dyed the color red and as the author would describe African eyes as they were green with a big patch of hazel in the middle.
She also appeared to have a lot of freckles on her face.
She as well as Patton wore an apron but not for painting though as for cooking.
The other one looked more tomboy like, one could say.
She had pretty short but not too short dirty blonde hair, torquise eyes and a literal face of a duck.
She wore a black hoodie and stripped shirt under it, also having trainers and ripped jeans.
-"How's our not-born-from-either-of-us gay son doing?" They both said in unison as he sighed, Patton though giggled and Virgil just rolled his cardboard eyes playfully.
-"Ooooh! Is this your boyfriend you've been talking about?" Mamma D (Dominique) said.
-WHA-NO! HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND MOM!"
Ethan yelled, his face being the color of a tomato at least.
-"Not yet" Mom C (Caroline) said looking at a wall and winking to it.
[She breaks da fourth wall]
-"God..." Dee whined tiredly.
-"Auntie Caroline and Dominique are funny aren't they?" Patton exclaimed.
-"Um....." Virgil was almost silent, as he as well as Dee blushed madly.
-"Anyways, we are going to my room, what's for dinner?" Dee asked, not caring that he himself didn't eat, since the other two on the other hand did.
-"Mac n Cheese!" Dominique yelled.
-"Mmmm, my favorite!" Patton happily cheered.
-"God, I wish I could eat....It always looks so good..." The porcelain boy mumbled not expecting the comforting pat on the back from his hooded friend in the mask.
-"It's fine, though. I'm used to this torture." The boy exclaimed this time louder.
There was a moment of silence before Ethan asked both of them:
-"Hey guys, what do you want to play?" He said pointing at a giant stock of board and video games.
-"Jenga!" Patton exclaimed
-"Monopoly..?" Virgil said unsurely.
-"Virgie NOOOO I don't want to lose you!" Ethan whined holding the paperboy's hands with the pleading yet fake sadness on his face pretending to be dramatic again making the smaller one giggle.
-"Aww you guys are cute." Patton said, adoring the other two who flushed and moved away a few inches.
After some time of playing board games like dungeons and dragons, Jenga, Uno and Hot Patt-tato they were loosing up for a movie.
-"Oh, oh! Let's watch Bolt!" Patton yelled exitedly.
-"I'd rather watch Jungle Book, It's more classic." Dee criticized
-"What about...Lilo & Stitch?" Virgil suggested, still pretty shy though.
-"which part? I have all four, plus the series." Dee exclaimed.
-"Um....Maybe the second one?" Virgil said.
-"Okay then..."
When the dinner was finally ready they all stopped the movie to eat, except Ethan who didn't want to wait for them here and later getting teased on by Dominique and Caroline, Dee left, offended and flustered, then Virgil and finally Patton.
They got to the part in which Stitch couldn't control himself anymore and screwed stuff up, him and Lilo had a fight and later on Lilo went to play a role without him as he was even more broken.
This scene made them all sob, but not as much as when Stitch was put into the fixing machine as everyone thought it was too late for him.
Now they all fully cried. What was the most surprising was that it wasn't Patton who cried the most at the scene but Virgil.
Both Ethan and Patton tried to comfort him after watching the part.
Though there was happy ending so nothing really bad then..
-"Virgie, why did you pick a movie which would make you cry so much?" Ethan asked worriedly.
-"I just...wanted to see this part again...For some reason.."
-"Okay then..." The boy in vitligo signed.
-"Oh! Son, it was very nice to meet you and I'd be glad to adopt you as my own." Patton said with a loving stare at the masked boy.
-"Ummm....What?" Virgil asked, pretty confused now.
-"Shh..You're my baby now."
-"...Eth?" Virgil tried asking for help but none came since Ethan just gave the "shrug it off" motion.
After some time of eating snacks and talking, the porcelain boy checked the hour.
-"Oh shit we should probably go to sleep, guys."
-"Language, Dee." Patton rolled his eyes tiredly.
-"But it's only 2 AM in the morning?" Virgil asked as the other two gave him an unbelieving stare which made him regret saying this out loud.
-"Bed. Now" both of them said at the same time.
-"Nooooo" Virgil whined as he was being pulled by them to bed.
-"But my Tumblr-" he tried defending himself but for no use.
-"It won't fly away. Now sleep!" Ethan said in a worrying yet stern voice.
-"Um...I sort of have problems with that."
-"Shouldn't you put your mask away first? It's probably hurting your face no-" Patton asked yet being cut off by the younger boy in the cardboard mask.
-"NO!" Virgil yelled but put his hands to his mouth and gasped at his sudden outburst.
-"I'm so sorry, I- I didn't mean to-" he cried as Ethan came closer to him.
-"It's not your fault, it happens sometimes to every one of us.
Now do you want me to sing you a song? Maybe it will help you sleep, I don't know...."
The smaller boy nodded without any hesitation even to his own surprise making Ethan chuckle a little as he began to sing Welcome to Wonderland by Anson Seabra.
Which actually worked as his wonderful siren like voice lulled the cardboard boy to sleep.
They both then fell asleep on the porcelain boy's bed as Patton just signed, peacefully this time and went to the living room.
.
.
.
.
.
-"VIRGIL WAKE UP, WE OVERSLEPT!" The voice broke the amazing silence as the boy in the bed hissed lazily not caring.
-"Virgil please, we need to go! Or I'm taking your mask off." Ethan fake-threatend.
Virgil then suddenly flicked from the bed "energized as ever"
Or rather anxious as ever.

I LOVE your "Jason bangs the JL, and also the World" series SO MUCH, seriously. But now I'm also thinking about an AU in which Jason sleeps his way through the JL, the Wayne Board, various Gothamite socialites, etc. just to get Bruce's attention. Bruce is seethingly jealous and VERY bad at hiding it.
Hi there! I’m so glad you like that little verse!
I wrote something for this ask but it… well, it ended up going a much darker direction than anticipated 😬 So I’m going to post up to the point where things take a turn here and maybe add something nicer later, just so we can all pretend that I didn’t ruin this happy, lighthearted verse with angst and horror. But I’ll post the link to the whole thing on Ao3 so everyone interested in the dark ending can enjoy.
We’re also going to just go ahead and call this an AU of the “Jason bangs the JL and all the villains” AU so that that one can remain untainted 🤣
So here you go.
PART 1 PART 2 PART 3
Darkest Knight - just the good stuff
[Read the whole darker story on Ao3!]
Words: 1110
Rating: Mature
Warnings: None for the following, but check warnings and tags if you follow the link.

It was already bad enough, knowing about the villains and his colleagues. But then Bruce sees a blurry picture with the unmistakable silhouette Vicki Vale and Jason’s signature jacket in a tabloid.
Still, he tries to stay calm. Tries to examine why he’s so angry about this when no one else seems bothered.
Then he walks into Fox’s office to find Jason sitting on the edge of the desk, Lucius standing between his spread legs.
They’re not doing anything. They’re both fully clothed. But the flirty tilt to Jason’s head and the soft, affectionate smile on Lucius’s lips would have been damning even without Jason’s finger looped between buttons on the older man’s shirt, and Fox’s hand on the younger man’s thigh. Not to mention the way Lucius takes a quick but dignified step back and Jason flushes pink.
His first thought is that maybe Jason is purposefully flaunting it. Shoving Bruce’s face in his exploits just to get under his skin.
But Bruce had come to Fox’s office to let him know his “business meeting” in Norway had ended early and Bruce was back two days ahead of schedule. They couldn’t have known.
After an extremely awkward moment where they all just stare at each other, Bruce turns on his heel and leaves as quickly as he can.
This is ridiculous. He needs to get a hold of himself. Needs to find a way to let this go.
If he were smart, he’d try to encourage the obvious mutual feelings between Jason and the youngest Green Lantern. Try to nudge Jason into something more committed and… norm—healthy.
But something stops him. Something won’t allow him to entertain thoughts of Jason being serious with anyone.
Those feelings and anger boil inside him, getting hotter and hotter at every little hint of Jason’s… relationships. The way Clark can’t seem to look him in the eyes anymore. Jordan’s smug grin. Slade’s and Talia’s and Lex’s pointed jabs.
The way Rayner seems to always just… be there now.
It’s Tim who makes him realize.
“Jesus Christ, Bruce. Stop acting like a jealous ex lover. Jason is an adult and he’s not being taken advantage of. You read the report from Ra’s. You know that.”
Bruce didn’t hear anything after “lover”.
As per his modus operandi, he spends the next couple weeks obsessing over Tim’s words.
Then he plans.
——————————
Batman hides in the shadows, waiting for Jason’s guest to leave, and is unsurprised to find it’s the cocky Green Lantern (not that all of them aren’t cocky. Honestly, Stewart is the only one Bruce even kind of likes).
He doesn’t go in immediately. It takes another hour, give or take, to steal his nerves for what he’s about to do.
When he finally does, Jason’s security is fairly easy to bypass. Like he didn’t even bother to lock things down after Kyle left.
Hovering over Jason’s bed watching him sleep is creepy. Bruce knows that. Especially with the smell of sex somehow still thick in the air.
It does nothing but make that something in him go feral.
But he takes a deep breath, keeping his cool, and steps back. Just in case.
“Jason,” he growls. It’s a low, gravely rumble. Not quite Batman’s voice—he’ll only use that if he has to—but not his normal one either.
The younger man positively leaps out of bed, lights from the city beyond the windows glinting off the curves of his meticulously sharped kris. It’s wielded with obvious skill and comfort, despite being jolted from the middle of a REM cycle.
The light also casts flattering shadows across Jason’s bared form, cutting dark valleys in the dips of his muscles and glistening peaks at the swells. His ebony curls are sleep tousled and sticking up in different directions.
“B?” Jason asks, voice thick and a little slurred with sleep. He straightens out of his fighting stance, eyes narrowed in confusion. Then he tucks the knife back under his pillow and runs his fingers through the streak of white at his forehead.
Bruce can’t stop his own gaze from flicking down or the way he licks his lips.
Even in the darkness, he can see the color bloom across Jason’s face as he realizes he’s fully exposed.
There is no conscious thought to move. Jason reaches for the sheet on the bed and suddenly the room blurs, a surprised yelp rings like sweet music in his ears. And when things clear, Bruce has Jason up against the wall, the younger man’s wrists in a steel grip.
Jason stares at him with wide, bright eyes, breath coming in short, shaky puffs that make his chest heave. Which draws his attention down to the dark metal bars pierced through Jason nipples. He hadn’t even known they were there.
It’s mesmerizing, watching them move slowly up and down.
“Bruce… wh-what are you doing?”
Jason’s voice is soft, breathless. Usually Bruce is good at reading people but he can’t tell if Jason is excited… or scared.
He steps closer, eyes traveling over the warm, scarred skin, connecting the dots from bite mark to hickey to fingerprint.
“I want you stop,” Bruce finally demands. “I want you to call off all your arrangements and dates.”
“And when have I ever cared what you want?” Jason smirks but his body language, the tense line of his shoulders, out his continued discomfort.
Bruce steps closer, takes both of Jason’s wrists in one hand and raises the other to lightly cup Jason’s neck, thumb caressing over the younger man’s chin and inching towards his lips. He feels it when Jason gulps.
“You used to. Once. When you were younger,” he purrs, enjoying the way Jason shivers when his breath wafts over the boy’s face.
“That was a long time ago, Bruce. I was different person. You were a different person. Things have changed. We’re not close anymore and I need—“
“I’ll provide everything you need,” Bruce rumbles. “Whatever you need. Anything you ask for; no questions, no strings. Weapons, intel, cash, Kryponite,” he slots his thigh between Jason’s legs, slides it high to feel the younger man’s cock, making Jason gasp and squirm. “Feeding the hunger the Pit left inside you.”
Jason freezes for a moment, eyes going wide again.
“You-you can’t be serious,” he grumbles and starts wriggling harder. Like he’s making a real effort to get out of Bruce’s hold.
Bruce just tightens his grip; squeezes Jason’s wrists hard enough he can feel the bones grind against his palm. “I am. Very.”
