finally back home from watching "i'm still here" at the movies

i still gotta, like, sit down and think of a longer, more detailed meta on my impression on the movie, especially to organize my thoughts and explain for ppl outside Brazil the context of the time period and stuff

but, just to sum it up, WHAT A MOVIE!!!!!

"i'm still here" is amazing.

the performances, the settings, the costumes, props, everything is perfect

i'm glad that the world now knows the story of eunice paiva and the paiva family, even if they are just one in many families destroyed by the far-right military dictatorship allied of the US government and were an upper class family with enough conditions to rebuild after rubens paiva was kidnapped to never be seen again

i don't know if the movie is gonna win the oscars or not, but few movies this year speak so much to the times we're living, with the rise of the far right and fascists all over the world, as that movie does

it's definetely a must watch

not only that, but, also it's only the second time, first one being judy garland and liza minelli, that a mother and daughter duo gets nominated for the actress in a leading role category
