i especially want to thank all my mutuals for being such amazing people, hyping me up every time i post and blessing my feed with their incredible talent. i don't normally like singling people out because of my fear of leaving people out but i wanted to give a special special shoutout to @miralure and @simulatd because they are literally the sweetest people ever!!

my page is almost a year old but i've only been consistently active since october and if you look at my earlier posts you can definitely tell my edits have gone through a few transformations. even now i’m not entirely sure what my niche is. i wanted to thank you guys for supporting me even when i give you whiplash while trying to figure out what i want my page to be!

i feel a little proud with the progress i’ve made last year, or rather in the last few months. i’ve started learning how to use blender (which i never thought i’d do) and honestly it’s the most fun i’ve had in a while!! it allows me to realize my silly ideas and has almost no limitations. i’m still very new to it, but i’m looking forward to the this year and to all the progress i’ll make.

as for cc making, i have so much respect for cc creators and what they're able to do. going into this with no experience and time to practice (because i gave myself a stupid time limit) was definitely not my smartest move. these shirts honestly don't look the best, which is a little disappointing but if you don't want them, just ignore them and look at the preview instead (which kind of sucks as well) !!

Get to Know Me - Sims Edition

I was tagged by several people (thank you!), so I decided to get off my ass for once and answer this 😆

What’s your favorite Sims death? I think the mummy's curse one! There's just something about that ominous vignette during the countdown days, only for the sim to dissolve into dust at the end 😩👌

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Both! Maxis Match for clothing, Alpha for hair.

Do you cheat your sims weight? Nope! I leave them at whatever weight they happen to be, unless they want to learn/practice the Athletic skill. I do cheat to give them more muscle tone if they're super muscular already, though; EA really should've made that slider move along the muscle mass one :/

Do you move objects? Oh yes. I can't imagine decorating without it.

Favorite Mod? Nraas Master Controller my beloved 💖 Can't forget BrntWaffles's lighting mods, they make the game look so beautiful that sometimes I like to just leave it on 2x while watching the sunset over the sea.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? The first EP I got was World Adventures and it's still my favorite. The first and only SP I have is HELS, along with bits and pieces from the others.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing? The latter, though this question tripped me up the first time I saw it 😅

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Ohh that's a tough one. Fergus Vane is definitely among my favorites, he was a Johnny Bravo knockoff who eventually got married and I swear that he and his wife could NOT keep their hands off each other 😆 First is him making friends at uni, second is him with his wife.

Have you made a simself? Oh yeah, when I got the game and was trying to figure out how to play. Didn't last long until I started making serial black widows, lol.

Which is your favorite EA hair color? That platinum blonde looks so tacky that I can't help but love it.

Favorite EA hair? I think EA struck gold with: Loose Curl, Dramatic Ponytail, La Dolce Vita Updo, Chorus Girl Curl, Pin-up Pretty, Skinny Dreads, Wavy Bob, Elegance Style, and Wild Fire.

Favorite life stage? Young Adult, because it has the most things available.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Ohh it depends. I go through phases when I'm not interested in gameplay at all, mostly when I set up a savefile for the first time. But now I've been more into gameplay for a few months.

Are you a CC creator? Yeah, mostly with CAS items and minor annoyance fixes.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad? I have a lot of simblr mutuals where I feel like a nosy person sometimes poking their head above the neighbor's fence to see what's going on 😆

Do you have any sims merch? / A Youtube for sims? Nope.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? I give my concrete boxes a few more decorative elements now 😅 For once, I stopped playing serial killers (mostly to avoid the NPC pudding spam that ensues), and am making an effort to not micromanage sims as much and to fulfill their wishes instead of ending up with mostly level 10 chefs and gardeners all the time.

Who’s your favorite CC creator? Oh man do I have to name someone?? SimplexSims, @aroundthesims, Mutske, @simtanico, @simaddix, @twinsimming, @bioniczombie, @martassimsbookcc, @simbouquet, @plumdrops, @ifcasims, @sim-songs, @deniisu-sims, @bellakenobi, @brntwaffles, @omedapixel, @wanderingsimsfinds, @simlicious, TheSweetSimmer and on and on.

How long have you had Simblr? 2016! Sometimes I can't believe it's been so long.

How do you edit your pictures? I have a few customized Gshade presets, and only convert gameplay screenshots to JPG. For CC previews, I may change the background color and will combine several previews into one image (and I occasionally correct small issues like unsightly clipping due to the poses).

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite? World Adventures is #1, followed by Seasons and prooobably Supernatural.

What’s your favorite Sims death? Never thought very well about the death types but I'll go for Time Anomaly because the ghost actually looks kinda creepy!

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? MM clothing, semi-realistic Asian-made skins, ALPHA HAIR ONLY. Furniture is a mix, really, but I can't stand MM hair in TS3 AT ALL.

Do you cheat your sims weight? Not at all - if I want to change their weight, they'll go to the gym! Now, for other physical features (read: getting rid off EAxis cartoonishness) Edit in CAS is my best friend :P

Do you move objects? But of course?????? XD

Favorite Mod? The NRaas suite in general + Lazy Duchess ones, but if I need to choose JUST ONE I'll go with DebugEnabler just for the item spawn function and the shifting up/down walls without Decorator's Best Friend (which I like a lot too)

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? I... found this game in the seven seas so I got them all at the same time...

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing? The former - never figured out people considered the "live" from "live mode" as a verb until NOW.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Melody Hills, the cute Black girl with natural hair I often put on my previews (she's the youthful one often with protective hairstyles). Minato Hawthorne (half-Japanese guy with glasses and blue eyes that often goes for my more... twinky stuff) and Lise Béranger (the one with the really pretty long curly hair) are close runner-ups.

Have you made a simself? Yeah, but I ended up not liking it (not a case of self-consciousness) and deleted her x_x

Which is your favorite EA hair color? Eeeeh the dark brown is useable I guess...

Favorite life stage? I readily admit that I'm part of the Millennial Party Simulator school of playing and 90% of my Sims are Young Adults.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? I don't BUILD per se, all my lots are downloaded, some build tools are still a bit intimidating, but I rotate between (re-)decorating and playing.

Are you a CC creator? A converter, actually XD Quite balanced between objects and CAS.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad? I'm closer-ish with the Brazilian TS3 Simblr guys and EAxis 4t3 converters but to call it a squad is a tad too much! But I'm on friendly terms with the folks from the Creator's Cave server, yes.

Do you have any sims merch? / A Youtube for sims? Nope and I don't intend to.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? I actually find very difficult to let go of my powerplaying and shift to a more roleplayer style :P THAT SAID, in my decorating I finally found a balance between bare and overcluttered!

Who’s your favorite CC creator? it's a secret to no one that @joojconverts and I have very similar styles and we often suggest and beta test stuff for each other, and @bellakenobi and I are friendly outside Simblr too, but to say I have a Favorite CC creator wouldn't do justice to my 28GB CC folder 8D

How long have you had Simblr? I actually wanted to make a simblr for TS2 first but it never went forward (at the time I only did some mailbox recolors that I never released), so it's older than I believe, but I started getting active in TS3 around 2017-2018 I believe?

How do you edit your pictures? I cut, resize and add text ONLY. I have no patience for extra editing.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite? Can't choose between Ambitions and Supernatural XD

Canning Station Recolor

@merrymomo asked for a recolor of icemunmun’s Canning Station version 3.0, and here it is! If there is anything you want recolored, feel free to ask!

the canning station mod requires Outdoor Retreat, so this probably does too (idk if the object in itself needs the pack, or if it just need it to be functional)

65 swatches: 45 from my Removable palette, and 20 swatches with a wood texture (i know it’s too much, i just can’t help it...)

If you don’t want the mod but still want the object, you can just keep the .package with the canning station, and then it will be decorative only! That’s what i’ll do at least 🙂

Summer Fun tattoos

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I really wanted my first post of the year to be a CC post. Also, since I learned to make recolors, I’ve always wanted to make some tattoos - I tried it four or five times in the last year - and I never was satisfied enough with the result to post them, until I finally figured it out last November ! So to celebrate this blog’s birthday (I mean my first CC post, in December 2019) I give you these ! A small set of arm tattoos that are summer and holiday themed - well, most of them are at least.

Sim Dump 2 (Part 1) - GC Downtownie Teens + Rainelle Neengia

Goodies are below the cut!

It's been a while since I posted the first Sim dump in this Downtown Residents series I seem to be doing. (1 year and five months to be exact!) but I do follow through on my promises...eventually!

This sim dump is split into 2 parts because there are 15 sims in it. Originally there were only going to be the 6 Downtownie Teens and Rainelle Neengia. Now there's a bit of a surprise waiting in part 2. (surprise is spoiled below the cut btw....so yeah, if you want it to actually be a surprise....go to Part 2 first...)

But first I'd like to take a moment to link you back to the first sim dump I did in November of 2020. I linked this sim dump because the parents in it are the sims I used to genetically correct the Downtownie Teens and Rainelle.

Between the first sim dump and the two parts of this one, you will now have 26 new or refreshed sims to populate Downtown with! 26! and hell I'll probably still end up making more....Downtown has a ton of lots, and quite a few of them are residential lots....(speaking of...possible downtown makeover in the future? Idk yet but I'm considering it if I can figure out how to do it.)

All sims SHOULD be packaged without CC (aside from my defaults, but those won't matter, your game will just replace them with whatever your defaults are or with the actual EAxis clothing and hairs) but on the off chance I missed a wayward piece of CC I recommend that you use Clean Installer by Mootilda. I recommend you use clean installer for anything anyway though. (Previews of the sims without CC, aside from my defaults, are included in the Zip.

But without further ado...

Sim 1: Rainelle Neengia

Rainelle is an adult in the download, but because she's a teen in my HC I also included a picture of her as a teenager just in case you want to age her down! Her parents from the first sim dump are Odelia and Antoine Neengia.

Sim 2: Kestrel Teens/Tricou

Kestrel (along with all of her other Townie siblings) is a teenager in the DL, just as she is in game. Her other parent from the original post is Alyssa Arrington. I used my edited Jon Smith (Johnathan) Tricou (SURPRISE! that's what part 2 of this dump is....My edited and in the case of Jennail, Nylissit, Fricorith, and Gvaudoin, Genetically corrected Tricous.) combined with Alyssa to create Kestrel's new look.

Sim 3: Loren Teens/Tricou

Loren is a teenager in the DL, just as he is in game. His other parent from the first Sim Dump is Lorraine Adams. I used my edited Jon Smith combined with Lorraine to make Loren's new look.

Sim 4: Orion Teens/Tricou

Orion is a teenager in the DL, just as he is in game. His other parent from the first Sim Dump is Anna Marinos. I used my edited Jon Smith combined with Anna to make Orion's new look.

Sim 5: Patrick Teens/Tricou

Patrick is a teenager in the DL, just as he is in game. His other parent from the first Sim Dump is Mae Ayers. I used my edited Jon Smith combined with Mae to make Patrick's new look.

Sim 6: Swan Teens/Tricou

Swan is a teenager in the DL, just as she is in game. Her other parent, whom she shares with Patrick (they're twins in my HC), from the first Sim Dump is Mae Ayers. I used my edited Jon Smith combined with Mae to create Swan's new look.

Sim 7: Tiave Teens/Tricou

Finishing this part of the sim dump off is my GCd version of Tiave Teens/Tricou. He's a teenager in the DL, just as he is in game. His other parent from the first Sim Dump is Jacqueline Ellington. I used my edited Jon Smith combined with Jacqueline to make Tiave's new look.

Now for the DL links. This one isn't a pick n choose kinda deal, But if you don't want all of the sims (not sure why you wouldn't) just delete the files from them.

A text document of the recessive genes I intended for these sims and preview pictures (both with CC and without CC) are included in the Zip.

*If you want my versions to replace the EAxis versions, use the Alt-Sim-Surgery plugin for SimPE to replace the facial structure of your hood's versions of these sims (Downtownie names will be random, so you'll have to search for the teens, Rainelle's name will be the same as she is technically considered playable by default, you just have to resurrect her with something like Sim Manipulator's Death and Creatures manipulator). Some gene manipulation in SimPE will be necessary if you want these sims to have my intended recessive genes, as sims alt sim surgery has been used on will by default have the same dominant and recessive genes, but it's really not hard to do.

Please note: you have to trick SimPE into thinking you've "installed" the sims to use the alt-sim surgery plugin, to do this just use clean installer and change the install path from the default to a folder somewhere on your desktop that is separate from the game's files. After you've "installed" the sims you can use the plugin to load in the package for the sim. Packages have a random sequence of letters and numbers as their names, and SimPE will not show you what the package looks like, so you'll have to keep track of which package is which sim. I usually make subfolders in the folder on my desktop for each sim.

So, wanted to give a little preview of my current projects. All of them are still very WIP.

First, we have the Hun warrior and genocidal maniac himself:

He's a lot further along than this image shows: I'm just having trouble getting his CC to work right in-game. His facial hair won't show up at all, and until literally 3 minutes ago his clothes refused to morph to a masculine body. 😩

I'm getting it figured out though! It won't be long before I share more complete pics. His hair mesh is NOT my work, so upon release he *will* require a third-party download.

Next up...

I haven't seen Maui done before. He's obviously nowhere near being finished. His tattoos are hard to do, but I'll get them right eventually! The ones here are just vanilla placeholders.

I really need to find some "extreme body morph" mods to get him right. His eyes need to be closer together, for one, and the basegame won't let me push them any further. And aside from the above, I need to find/make good CC for his grass skirt and necklace. Bummed that Island Living didn't have anything closer.

And finally...

The Shadow Man himself: Dr. Facilier! I haven't even started on CC for him besides the hat, so he's a long way off. Even still, I don't think I did too poorly so far!

And I saw that a recent expansion has actual Voodoo, so I might need to think about buying that. Mischief skill does work decently enough though.

And finally, I do have an Ursula but she looks TERRIBLE. I want her as a Mermaid with Vanessa as her land form, but unfortunately the two forms are locked into sharing the same muscle and body-mass sliders... If I can find or make a mod that will let me customize the sliders, that would be perfect.

Err, third finally... If anyone knows of a Werewolf life state mod or something, please comment! I don't know what to do about Beast. Maybe one day I can figure out how to mod Vampires to get a suitable effect...

Anyway, that's everything I'm trying to accomplish. Constructive criticism is appreciated; I know I have loads of room for improvement.

I'm really scared to update my game though. 😅 I'm worries it'll break all my CC, especially with the skin tone upgrade! So wish me luck that that DOESN'T happen.
